Part of him swarmed with doubts of whether he made the right course of action. On one hand, he might have saved himself from a premature death. On the other, the man may very well have caused fate to switch to a more favorable outcome for the Explorer's. Either way his choice was out of pure self-desire to observe these factions. Perhaps not the best time to do it given the nature of Red Fever, but nobody can predict the future. At best, it was about taking what he was given and rolling with it.

Both of his ears perked up as he heard the gunshots of @Darko Ljubicic in the distance. Now, Alonso was not familiar enough with those who used firearms, so he was unaware of shots' owner. The amount of shots he still counted. "Hm ... seven ... another seven ... ah." Twenty-one shots total. Death was inevitable, and at least someone in the distance was willing to show that honor. In some fashion he may discover the identity of the person who sent that twenty-one salute into the air. Or at least, he assumed that was the reason.

The other concerning part was the familiar, strong presence, one similar to what he felt when the man went berserker rage in combat. He can investigate that later when things were tame.

Alonso ended up sitting down in front of a tree, sighing as his feline gazed maneuvered around. He needed some form of relief, that some people he knew where at least okay. Scrapes and bruises were nothing compared to removed parts and actual death. "Come on, you guys gotta be here, don't be doing this ta me," the giant Felis mumbled as he tried to find @Toko and @Seto Kurama .

Ayna had been lost in thought as she gathered her thoughts at the many revelations that she had just heard from everyone else. She tried to do her part, distributing the cure to those that were the closest, but she still had two in her hands when she heard Levi talk about heroism and stuff. This was not part of the deal. I was just here to learn more about stuff, and now people are dying?! What the hell is going on?! Her grip tightened on the two containers in her hands, one in each. Fortunately, Pete @Chrys arrived to distract her from her darker thoughts.

"Something about you is different..." (She squinted at him as she surrendered one of the containers she held, gesturing that he take it if he still needs to.) "...it was...and experience for sure."

Ayna looked away from Chrys, not wanting to elaborate further. Things did not go according to her plan. She had wanted to contribute the most, but she couldn't even do enough. At least the kind of enough, the standards, she set herself to. She clenched her jaw, crossing her arms over her chest, as she held one last container of the cure.

"People are dying, Chrys. This wasn't part of the deal." (She turned to him again when she mentioned @Kamala Graham but began to look around, worried for her friend.) "I haven't, no. Is she still with the other Explorers?"

Ayna continued looking around for Kamala. Even as the crowd should begin to dissipate, go their separate ways, and group up to deal with what has yet to come. She would call for her name despite no one hearing her or answering. Until the last minute, Ayna would not give up trying to find her. Even beyond that.

Brutus stared down at the golden dog tags sitting in his palms absently. A gift for a job well done, a reward for downing Magikronos. And for what? The Explorers were lost, Guy missing along with how many countless others? He clenched his fist for a moment and grit his teeth. The situation they were marching to was probably going to be certain death, or at least, very probable death. How many Landers and UI locked players were here? How many of them were going to march to their deaths over this? Could he even think about abandoning them.

No

He would begin his search, first finding @Zelrius and @Ilya together. He would clap the blonde haired man on the shoulder, dangling his gold dog tags at eye level. "Brother, we have work to do. Can I count on having you at my side?" He knew the answer, and he didn't even have to turn to Ilya, he knew what was in her heart.

Next up was @Toko who was probably lurking with their shared Imouto @Azykia. "I have a plan for this fight, it's going to be risky, but I need your help, are you with me?" The Lepus looked up and nodded, and the Lion grinned. "Sort your affairs and I'll catch you in the battlefield."

Next up was @Haru and @Lucy both found together. He would clap a hand on Haru's shoulder, his eyes set with resolve. "Are you ready Haru? I promised I would be a Hero, today is my chance to prove it. Will you be with me?" He would turn to Lucy and give her an wry smile. "And you? Will you stand with me and defend those in need?" Once he had their answers, he would go and find his next group.

@Hanno Futaba and @Corsair were the last on his list. He would find his partner and her...other protector and grinned. "I don't suppose you're running away eh? No? Well, I can't possibly turn tail and run then. I'm assembling a team, can I count on your assistance?" The Magia woman would look up from her work and shake her head and give him a slight smile.

"Brutus, you Son of a bitch, I'm in."

Brutus grinned ear to ear, though he walked in the valley of the shadow of death, he would make his debut or die trying.

Witness me Terrasphere. WITNESS ME!

It was a brief moment of respite. The apes had been crushed; and most everyone had returned to camp. Not unscathed; but...

A flash of rabbit ears poked above the throng of people milling about. Madison clicked her tongue, sighed a deep sigh, and dragged her feet over to the lepus.

"Hey." A very gruff, very plain, very Madison greeting. "Look, I'm... Sorry for shooting you in the tit earlier."

Everything was about to go to complete shit; so if she was going to eat her first death, she was going to do it with a completely clear conscience. Not that the guilt weighed heavily on her shoulders. In all actuality, Madison had fun bouncing a bullet off Toko's chest. In her mind, it was well deserved. She got sucker punched, for crying out loud! But sometimes you just need to keep up appearances so nasty shit doesn't get out about you and ruins your chances teaming up with other players.

"I need to go find Levi right now, but after this is over I owe you a drink." And then, the gunslinger slipped away.

"Crap!" She shouted, awakening at the scene. She'd signed up to help out, and even followed the Adventurer's Guild- but every time she was getting prepared to take part in the mysterious event, Harveste got pulled out of the game. Once it was a ding-dong ditcher, a few times it was her editor. It seemed like every chance she had was stolen from her by the real world. So much had happened, and she knew nothing of what transpired so far.

Something told her it wasn't over yet, though. There was something happening still. This time, she wouldn't back down. If anything tried to distract her, she would ignore it- doorbell, phone, even her creative juices that threatened to demand her attention at any given time. She was all in. It was time to actually be helpful- and to finish off whatever she had just walked into.

For the next few moments, Harveste spent some time wandering around, asking people what she missed. Having overheard what she missed didn't make her feel any more thankful for real life trying to steal her attention constantly.

As she was wandering around the group, she noticed an extraordinarily familiar face and ran towards @Hanno Futaba swiftly. "Aren't you a sight for sore eyes?" She asked him, laughing. "I can't believe how much I missed... Stupid deadline... Are you hanging in there alright?"

Without thinking, as per usual, she jumped to kiss his cheek. A soft smile graced her features. "I'm probably going to stay rearguard if I can help it. You're probably headed for the frontlines, right? You'd better be careful! Got it? Or um... Uh..." She tried to think of a way to threaten him to stay safe, but nothing came to mind. "Anyway, just be careful!" With a big hug given, she ran off back to a safer section (or what she thought was safer) in the crowd.

With any luck, that hug wouldn't be the last one she got to give him. There were many more she wanted to share.

Red Fever (5) - Anger

Even after hitting @Sarina Knights on the back of the head and lecturing her to take the consequences of death more seriously, his anger was still swelling up inside him. He couldn't return to @Vina Skysong right now either and risk saying something he later regret. He already did that once, he wasn't going to do that again, even It is was in the heat of combat. In another attempt to cool his head, he took a walk though the rain soaked camp to collect his thoughts. What came next was obviously dangerous but he already made his choice the moment he had logged into the game for the first time. He had chosen to be Astorea's sword. There was no use in going back on it now. He might no longer be a noble of Astorea but he still had a duty to the country he helped founded and died for. Even If it wasn't for duty, his honor as a warrior demanded him to push forward and eliminate this threat, even If it would lead to his death. At the end of his walk, as he pushed his soaked, tattered bangs out of his eyes and pushed them to his side, he took notice of @Alonso Thorlion sitting under a tree giving him some protection from the rain. Knowing his friend could probably use some conversation, considering the dire situation they found themselves in. Walking over, he rested his body against the trunk of the tree.

You look like you could use some cheering up.

He gave his friend a faint smile for a moment before his attention turned to the droves of players that were running around doing errands or chatting it up like themselves. His tone turning more serious, he folded his arms.

You know what happening next right? With that demon corpse and that mutated monstrosity thing wanting to eat it? I don't know about you but I'm going. I have to do my part, fulfill my duty to Astorea and hopefully find those explorers whom didn't come back. I know your not the duty bound or warrior type but.....join me and help me bring that thing down and bring back our people, If only to give them a proper burial. They deserve that much at least.

Sighing, he looked up at the sky. Just another day of almost getting himself killed.

The unga would now no longer bunga.

Mojo Jojo had left the building and this closet Buttercup fan was left with nothing more to whack. Everyone was returning from their respective missions as well. Welp, guess that's a wrap!

"Cough cough, jeese that's some... stuff."

The scent and burn of the Serenity Mist going down her throat made her want to gag a little but maybe adding her hot sauce to that was a bad idea. Everything must have hots added though or she simply wouldn't be able to consume it. Spice is life.

So after some more chatting from bigwigs, it looked like there was a big ugly bug going ham and the majority of the Explorers were in big trouble.. or dead. That sure wasn't a win. Still, they would just go save them. Not a problem!

Sarina was trying her best to keep her spirits as high as they were fighting the apes but honestly, it was difficult. That fever had burnt her out some and she needed to figure out what was going on now. Originally the brunette wanted to go talk to Levi (@Asch) some but the redhead kept making statements and running off.

She just wanted to see what he was like up close, that's all! But instead nope, maybe next time then. She would then wonder if Laylabelle was around, she wanted to tell her the stick worked wonders on monkey skulls (probably because they had exposed brains but hey).

"Hey, anyone seen @Laylabelle ?"

She wasn't one of the Explorers was she...?

The rush of her heightened emotions fading down to regular levels as they were sprayed down with whatever concoction the people at MIT had cooked up made Cleo nearly stumble, breathing a sigh of relief as she noticed that the effect that was causing her feelings to get all out of whack had been temporarily muted or something. It was mildly alarming to see that it wasn't completely gone, but still, it was better than nothing.

Less good, however, was the news about the Explorer's League. There was no way that she could just stand back and not try to help out on that front. If she could be strong enough to help, then she would help. Even if she was little more than a nuiscance to the enemy.

Her eyes flickered with crimson light, for a the briefest moment.

She turned to @Vina Skysong and gave the healer a worried expression, swallowing her nerves down as much as she possibly could.

I'm going to go help rescue the others. I know I can't stop you from coming with me, but I want you to stay safe too. Please at least consider staying back here?

With enemy defeated and the camp secured, Harlow took a deep breath. He glanced to @Athena and @Alastair Brass first, finding them both still breathing. The latter had made a resolute ally in maintaining control amidst disorder, and he would not forget that. No casualties found among the lions. Victory, despite dishonor, and a massive corpse to prove it. He didn't attempt addressing @Athena's thanks to him, even now that things were calmer. He would've done it for anyone, and was glad enough to find her in one piece.

It wasn't long before cure was obtained and sanity reclaimed. He reached to catch the flying bottle that soared towards him from @Avery Aphelion's toss. "Well thrown. Appreciated. Over." Without the vocabulary necessary to give her twirl proper praise, that would suffice. As expected, his previous wagon-buddy had fulfilled their task, and he consumed it in seconds, full of trust and bland flavor, and even labeled specifically for him.

Nevertheless, he was left to wonder whether his fellow Lions truly found such sadistic pleasure in the carnage, or their hearts were simply swayed by demands of the disease. He could only hope for the latter, looking across the camp and observing the reconvening of forces.

The Magia needn't a private meeting with the elites to recognize that not all had returned. Even those he didn't know by name were remembered in a collection of faces that he couldn't spot. Correlation between these faces was a string drawn straight and smooth across the evidences. Explorers. Still out there in spite of the settling shade of nightfall.

An unfamiliar face burst into camp, blade through their cheek. As he called the leaders out from their tent. Harlow watched from the sidelines. The shouting match with Childress was a public affair, to which he listened carefully. Once the man, revealed to be named Kiryuu, exited the camp, Harlow stepped forward, addressing all around him, and whoever cared to listen.

A quiet radio-check volume adjustment preceded his announcement.

"This is Harlow. Explorers are taken. Time cannot be. I go with him. Over."

An open invitation, as he quickly trailed the footsteps of Kiryuu to catch up. To defend the reckless was a task Harlow had accepted many times recently, with or without recognition, and this was no different. He didn't wait for commendation or condemnation.

By the time the leaders finished their discussion and Levi addressed the group, Harlow was already gone, trudging through the jungle with the sole survivor, and any who chose to follow.

Avery was elated that everyone was returning to camp, even more so because she and the MIT had found the cure despite the chaos that ensued. Relief would soon reach the expeditioners. Before leaving the lab, Avery grabbed a few labels and got to scribbling away. Once done, she carefully attached a label to a few of the little vials. Then, with arms full of her prize, she burst out of the lab doors and eagerly searched for her friends.

@Harlow was the first of her companions that she spotted. She called out to him as she approached, then spun around and tossed a vial behind her back with a flourish. “Trick shot!” Once no longer airborne, it could be seen that “Harlow” was written on the bottle’s label in neat handwriting. “I hope the fever hasn’t been too rough on you. It had us pretty…uh, tense in the lab” She patted him on the shoulder. “I’m glad to see you’re okay.”

With that, she turned away, searching for more familiar faces. She directed strangers to the cure dispensers, but was intent on saving her bottles for her friends. She wanted to be the one to give it to them. Soon enough, she saw @Zelrius saunter in. She waved to him, but he must’ve missed her. The alchemist was short enough to drown in the crowds as they flooded into camp. Finally, after fighting through elbows and blurred faces, she was able to reach him. “Hey! Zel! I’ve got your cure! It’ll help with the fever.” She presented the next bottle, which was similarly labeled for Zelrius. He took the bottle, consumed its contents, then carried on into camp. Avery was stunned for a moment as she watched him leave. He didn’t recognize her. She had thought that three days of traveling together would leave an impact. She never thought of herself as forgettable.

She still held two bottles in her hand, and a wave of worry washed over her. She had searched for her last few companions, but it seemed they hadn’t made it back to camp. She looked at the labels. @Sol. @Kyoko. They were still out there. She heard Harlow’s voice ring out among the commotion. The magia was right. She stayed cooped up in that lab for too long. Without hesitation, she followed Harlow out of the camp. It was time for her to actually make an impact that hopefully no one would forget.

Exhaustion and fear. The primary drive behind each of Ru's steps weighed heavily upon his back. With each passing motion, their gravity multiplied, as if a crushing weight threatening to suffocate the world weary lepis. It wasn't his fault. Arlyn had ordered them to retreat, to bring back knowledge for the others so their sacrifices wouldn't end in vain. But it was all an excuse, at least in his mind. He was afraid, ashamedly so. And when commanded to run, the coward didn't hesitate to ask how far.

Bitter self loathing filled the gaunt lepis as the camp approached over the horizon. Eyes bleakly fixated on the tents ahead, his steps moved rhythmically, robotically , listlessly without sense of self as if simply going through the motions. Upon enteirng, the man was forced to swallow a bitter sweet pill. Judging from the expressions of others, their end had gone well. Words of MIT's developmental success, the Guild's fruitful harvest, and the Lion's heroic defense drifted within ear's reach. Struggling to hold back the tide of emotions, Ru could only think back to their failure, to the harrowing disaster that had fallen upon him and his ilk.

Roars filtering from the tent ahead quickly became intelligible as Ru neared. Biting his lip to the point of blood, the lepis fought fiercely against inner turmoil, his heart begging to be dredged from the depths of his chest with each pounding pulse. Though already vaguely aware of the truth, hearing it from another's mouth only drove the point home. They had chosen to light the path. Knowing the night was fraught with terrors, they had chosen to reach the stars through hardship and beyond. Still, hearing it once more left nothing but tremors.

It was only after Kiryuu had left that he would enter.

"Ru Ning, orange whistle, reporting in..."

His voice had steadied, the trembling now gone. Though his eyes shimmered with tears threatening to burst like water through a dam, his mind remained clear. He had a duty to complete, one other's had paid the price for in his stead. And he'd be damned if it was done poorly.

"Except the four that returned... all members are M.I.A. Status unknown, last seen being abducted by a swarm of insects headed north. The commander was taken as well.

Our path was as follows..."

Approaching the table, he'd hunch over a map and begin marking their journey, indicating the path taken.

As Pollux sprayed herself with the Serenity Mist immunization, The joy she had felt before was tempered but not entirely gone, and for a good reason. They had done it! Despite all the chaos and yelling within the mushroom-shaped laboratory, the MIT recruits had investigated, tested, and prepared a working immunization. It didn't seem like this joy was meant to last long though, as the other groups began to return it seemed like there were less here than there should have.

Pollux needed to take a moment to clear her mind. Shaking her head, she opened her palm menu and, pausing for a moment above it, pressed the button clearly marked Log Out.

Dana awoke from her sleep-like state to the usual sounds of Cambridge outside her apartment window. She Looked over to the alarm clock glowing in the darkness of her room.

[11:57 pm]

It was at least nice that this event had been scheduled for a Friday evening so that Dana didn't have to request off to be part of it. She wasn't exactly sure how she would feel playing this technically illegal game instead of her actual work.

Getting up from her bed, Dana moved to her kitchen to make herself some coffee.

Sitting in her kitchen with her coffee, Dana ran through what Levi had said to everyone. The explorers had been captured after discovering the source of the fever. Obviously, there would be a group sent to rescue them as well as defeat that "Kurungaar Mother". Should she assist in the rescue or back out now she had helped create the mist.

In her mind, backing out now would be like a betrayal of the expedition's trust. If Dana as Pollux was going to help, she would see it through to the end, she just hoped it wouldn't end in her own sacrifice.

After finishing her coffee, Dana lay back down in her bed and prepared to re-enter the world of Terrasphere.

Pollux rematerialized in the camp. She looked around for any familiar faces. She recognized the large felis man she had met when first arriving in the game. Pollux made her way to the tree that @Alonso Thorlion was sitting under.

"Will you be assisting in the rescue as well?"

The fight against the apes had been brutal and terrifying, but they'd won in the end, even if the sight of their victory which made Vina's stomach churn even without the Red Fever amplifying that particular feeling. When the MIT announced that they had successfully concocted a suppressive agent Vina was all too happy to be sprayed with the mist, its refreshing coldness making her feel like she'd just stepped out of a cold shower. Albeit one which also made her feel rather embarrassed about just how much she'd freaked out before.

The druidess frowned and bit her lower lip as she looked around. The worst was yet to come, and she saw that not everyone was planning to continue. @Fina Drago looked like she'd experienced enough today, and Vina couldn't blame her. She hoped that the pretty feline would be able to get out of the jungle safely.

However, many were still planning to keep going. She saw @Ilya preparing herself, and she quickly walked over to her and the blonde man she was hugging (@Zelrius)

It's nice to see you again Zelrius, even if it's not really the best time, is it? (She sighed before smiling.) I'll do our best to keep us and everyone else alive, so the two of you make sure you help take down whatever it is we're facing, all right~?

She hugged the both of them briefly before leaving them be, looking around for other people she knew. @Hanno Futaba was clearly ready to go, even though he'd already pushed himself so much protecting the other Lions.

Make sure not to push yourself too hard Hanno~ There's enough people here that you don't have to protect us all by yourself.

@Seto Kurama was talking to @Alonso Thorlion, the big lion of a man who'd already made a name for himself on the trip to this cursed place. Vina was about to talk to them as well when her attention was drawn towards @Cleo Looker instead. The druidess looked at the beautiful redhead, making no attempt to hide the fear in her own eyes even as she closed the gap and gave the lancer a comforting hug.

I'm happy that you asked, but I can't just ignore the people who're still out there. (She laughed softly, even if it was a shaky laugh.) Besides, all you brave heroes need someone to patch you up as well, and just like you I'm here to help people~

Now they knew. Now after all this time people would maybe, just maybe start taking this all more seriously.

People die.

Chelsea was still unsteady as she stood quietly with her face muscles sore from all the..haha nonsense. Her pride had been hit quite hard by this. She had become something else a joke,, a stupid in every way possible, and it reminded her why showing emotions was never the best way to deal with anything.

The aftermath will hurt that much more.
Her mother when she was young, her father several years ago, the company, and her aunt just recently.
A Nexon cannot be deterred.

Her hand rubbed the N Suit bracelet as she turned away and went on her own, lost in thought. @Cain Darlite was Danielle. @Gwyn ap Herne was Sabine, She just left people to die, didn't she? She wondered if the game would actually kill its own creation when it came to @Seigi Ling Ling . The warning from Levi... why warn anyone? Don't they exist to send people to their deaths? What even were these... things?

The actual dead people still alive somehow?

Of course not. The Nexon could not be wrong. The evidence was there! There is no technology in existence that can just replicate the exact personality and memory of a person. If there was, Nexus would at least have heard of it. Even if the government... it was just an impossible thing.

So now...

"...Sigh."

Should she just log out? There were certainly things she needed to have added to the VRS database. Doing this herself, boo... she should have brought help. But being seen with a bunch of hired players would not be good for keeping a low profile. Low profile? Ha, that foolishness she had recently undergone sure didn't help with that. Funny how easy it was to remember but when under the effect she couldn't think at all.

"...I... don't care. There's no reason. They went and fought like stupids. ...Sigh."

Sitting down alone, she took measures to reassure herself. Chelsea rubbed her N Suit bracelet again. It was her only weapon in this virtual hellhole, and now it was probably damaged. Chelsea had no idea how nor the time to fix it. Perhaps this Serenity Mist also would purge the system, it seemed to do so for the Magia present. Chelsea still thought it odd for such technology to be in a game set in a world with horses and carriages. Videogame stupid logic...

Did she want to go back like a stupid and get herself killed for data? No, did she for Danielle, no that stupid was too annoying as Cain, did she for Sabine? No.. it wasn't like she was helping VRS in any way.

Chelsea didn't need or want to fix stupid, reckless morons', mistakes.

It would be such a waste of time...

(N may or may not return so this page will be updated in C8 if needed).

"SO, SOME BASTARDS GOT THEMSELVES CAUGHT, HUH?! WELL, LUCKY FOR THEM MY SWORD ARM IS STILL ITCHING! HAHAHA, SOMETHING BIGGER TO TACKLE AND TO TEST MY SKILLS AGAINST? A DEMON CORPSE TO DESTROY?! I'M ALL IN! I'LL RIP WHATEVER THE HELL THAT MONSTER IS INTO PIECES AND GORGE MYSELF ON ITS BLOOD BEFORE EVERYONE ELSE EVEN HAS A CHANCE TO ACT! HAHAHA, GET EXCITED EVERYONE, I'M ABOUT TO SHOW YOU HOW A VAMPIRE REALLY FIGHTS! BEAST AGAINST BEAST, MONSTER AGAINST MONSTER!"

Regan turned to @Cynna with a devious smile.

"We got work to do. I'm assuming you're coming, right? Haha, this is going to be a fight like we've never experienced in this world. I'm ready to tear everything in my way into scraps! I'm going to go get some things ready!"

Walking away, Regan noticed @Omega Redux.

"If you're coming, be careful little one. I don't know if I'll be able to protect you if things get too dangerous. HAHAHA! STILL, YOU DO ME PROUD PUTTING YOURSELF TO THE TEST!"

Walking away, Regan waved goodbye.

Though the previous encounter had left its mark on Regan, her bloodlust was fathomless. With another creature to test herself against, excitement shook the woman to the core. Walking off to prepare, Regan outfitted herself with some heavier armor plates strapped underneath her dress. Then she checked her weapons, first her soul-bound blade, Carmilla.

"Hahaha! Are you ready to gorge yourself on a demon's corpse?"

The blood blade quivered excitedly.

"Hah! Soon enough, soon enough we'll both have our fill!"

Checking her other blade, Regan would nod. She was ready.

"LET'S GO! HAHAHA!"

Walking back to @Cynna, Regan would wait to leave.

"LET'S HURRY THIS UP! THERE'S BLOOD TO BE SPILLED! HAHAHAHA!"

Moonsong sighed. Red Fever symptoms have subsided, at the very least for now. There's no telling if the Red Fever is going away if the source is not vanquished. The problem? It's borderline suicidal to launch an attack right now, even if it's to save potential surviving Explorer's League members.

This is not what signed up for, she should know when to quit when things go south. There's no need to jump off a cliff because the others do so.

She avoided contact with people and went inside. In the corner of the camp, she quickly opened her palm UI and logged off, just like that. When she logs back on another day, things should already be resolved. No need to play hero.

Dayeon awoke in her bed, the clock striking midnight. Off to wash her face, she repeatedly looked back at the blinking VR headset. Putting on earbuds and playing some of her old songs to calm herself, laying on the bed, occasionally touching the VR headset.

I really only need to not die, do I?

Exhaling, she put it back on.

Moonsong materialized back at the other world, eyes and hair glowing fiery red. "You guys better not die before I kill whatever that Kurungaar Mother is."

"Yes, I AM coming. The demon has sent an ALL too annoyingly CLEAR message that it WISHES for me to ELIMINATE it. If NOT, why would it have GONE through the MORONIC trouble of BOTHERING me."

Cynna balled her fists and "hmphed."

*spritz spritz spritz spritz spritz*

Cynna coughed.

"That is the THIRD time you have SPRAYED me!"

Shaking her fists at some MIT member or another, she had found that he had disappeared into the crowd once more. Cynna rather disliked crowds. Raising her hand to her forehead palm flat and facing downward like a military salute she searched the crowd until she found someone who roughly matched the line she had drawn. Cynna was measuring height.

She will do.

Walking over to @Omega Redux , Cynna attempted to put her hands on both of her shoulders to maneuver her like a shield as the drill-haired sorceress spied the damnable mistman making his way towards her once more.

"---Hm, I REMEMBER you, you LIKE facing down LARGE nuisances, yes?"

Cynna said while somewhat trying to hide behind her like an annoyed cat, she was peeking around Omega and speaking as the mistman drew closer and closer... like a damnable sprinkler system.

NgJuDsn.jpg

"MRFRGLMRFRLGLRUFURRA? MRFRGLFRFR!"

*spritz spritz spritz spritz spritz*

His approach neared...

"MRFRGLFRFR? MRFRGLFRFR."

Cynna flinched.

"DO SOMETHING."

Cynna hissed into Omega's ear.

NgJuDsn.jpg

"MRFRGLFRFR?"

Later, Regan would return after sword talk time. Sword talk time was important and Cynna knew not to interrupt. It was like a business call (of violence).

"Good Regan, you have returned."

Cynna pointed at Omega.

"I have found a spritzer shield, she needs practice, but she has the spirit. Let's add her to my things."

In a way, Omega had enough. The adventure had been fun - and there was some looting to do - but at the same time, she couldn't deny feeling a bit lonely. Usually, Omega Redux had no problem connecting to people, but it appeared to be a problem when said people were an already close-knit group AND some dumb sickness made you act in ways you didn't want to!

That, however, was now over. The Red Fever, had been temporarily halted and Omega could return to being a proper fledgling Final Boss again. It was, of course, without question that she'd properly punish this demon thing or whatever dared to distort her fun times! And getting sprayed was a hundred times more enjoyable than getting jabbed five times because of some weird pandemic going on outside.

"Omega doesn't need protection!" She called behind her esteemed customer, @Regan. Right, she had been somewhere in the slime party too! Though the big loud woman seemed to be always in motion. The loud gal would be a fine addition to her inevitable entourage of mid-bosses that had to be defeated!

Before Omega could settle down once more, however, she was approached by a midget even smaller than herself! @Cynna

"Omega?!" Omega gave back with as much grump as she was approached with, though before she could act much more, the two were now approached by the MIT crew and their weaponry.

But she had already...
spritz spritz spritz
Sprayed in the front, and the noises of a dying cat behind her. "Kleh- a..."

spritz spritz spritz
They just wouldn't stop! "Cough..."

spritz spritz
"DO SOMETHING." The grumpy cat hissed into her ear. "OMEGA WILL!" Three times, and no more, was the amount of abuse she'd take from this wannabe comedy villain! Two times and Omega had summoned a gasmask for herself.

No longer was she weak and sprayable.
No longer feeble and fragile.
She had the technology.
And now, she'd make him regret...

"GAAAAOOO!!!!!" She called out with a threatening undertone. "Your feeble weaponry has no more use against the MIGHT of Omega!" Could they even spend that Mist-stuff so wasteful anyway...?

As @Regan returned, Omega pointed at Cynna. Both their fingers pointing at each other.

"Omega's esteemed customer!" She spoke, in unison with Cynna's greeting.

"I have found a spritzer shield, she needs practice, but she has the spirit. Let's add her to my things."
"Omega has found another powerful, but grumpy, minion to become a future General!"

Hyakin had been worried over Miss Emilia; it seemed that this was her first rough realisation just how realistic this game was. Hyakin sympathised, he truly did. So he did not take to heart her angry shout, and instead tried to help her - even if at first it was only helping her stay steady as the content of her stomach left her (an unpleasant situation, he knew); if he also shifted to shield her from the view of what so upset her, well he was a knight!

It was not too big of a surprise when she begged off the chance to log off, though he assured her that he is fine; and he was. Especially after he got doused with that Mist; somehow that sadness was gone, back buried under other emotions.

There was a briefing…

And then he was left with half an hour.

He logged out, of course, immediately feeling the aches and weakness. He took a shower, ate food, took meds, drank water and got the IV drip connected (the special kind that stopped dripping anything once only 1% was left, allowing one to use it when sleeping with no worry). While he was doing all that, he kept thinking about the game, about the odd phrases, about the corpse of demon and how the ape yeeted its brain back into jungle – fearing that it would make a return later. And of course, the feeling of strength as he brutalised the mobs, as his attacks protected others, as his shield smashed the mobs. As he saved someone.

…Yeah, he was not going to sit out a 'boss' fight.

Hyacinth went to the bed and careful of the IV drip, he prepared it. He corrected the pillow and the sheets. He also checked the appliances that kept his condition better than it would have been otherwise. The appliances that regulated the quality of air, those that caught the flying bugs, the air conditioning and the automatic plant caretaker. Everything was okay, charged and ready to work 48h without his input.

Perfect.

He went to bed, hid under the blankets, leaving hand ontop for the IV to drip well and put the VR set on and logged back in.

Immediately the aches and pains left; he was taller, stronger.

He had five more minutes before the time and he checked his UI, putting the skill currencies into his skill; the Guard Arts and saving the rest for later.

And then he joined the group of Lion Arms. "I'm here ready to help!"

The anger raged.
The rage boiled.

Red, red, red, red was her vision.

And then, the HUD indicator of fight, stopped.

But the defeat of the enemy did not calm it down. It merely made her lose the outlet for all that seething fury. In fact, there was a voice inside her that shouted that it died too fast, that it did not feel the impotent rage as its tries at wiping them out were thwarted.

Even as the 'leaders' of the group celebrated, Ilusa struggled with containing her rage. All her feline traits showed just how incensed she was.

The prattling of the 'leaders' went one ear and left the other. The felis followed the group, twitching and trembling all over, raising her hands to scratch on the phantom pain and the real wounds, only to stop at the last moment. Her fingernail dug into the soft flesh of her palms and she stomped, instead of walking.

The blood and slime were drying, crusting, irritating her more.

Ilusa was in fact ready to actually bite that someone who got in her way and sprayed her with something. Her face was set in a snarl, her jaws opened – only for her to blink in confusion as the haze of angerangernager was lifted.

She closed her mouth, then opened it again and closed it once more. The all-consuming rage was gone, leaving her calm. And embarrassed that she had let the anger take such control over her. With calmness and mind to listen to things, she knew that it was because of the Red Fever.

At least now they knew what caused it and had plans on dealing with it.

The free time… Ilusa did not log out; the half-hour in real life would not change anything and she did need to stop looking like she did right now. And so, Ilusa went to get herself cleaned. It did not take that long to clean her outfit; it was enchanted to be easy to clean. She checked the UI and allocated points.

Her health was not perfect.
The wounds stopped bleeding, but her skin was covered with swathes of angry red, as if strips of flesh were torn off and her lungs rattled and she still occasionally spat out blood.

But her energy was low and she needed it for the fight, so for now, she let the natural regen deal with it… Her wounds scabbed over, looking weeks old, and the rattle in her lungs lessened.

She was as ready as she would be.
