Cel looked over the carnage-ridden outpost with disgust. Whatever had happened here, she certainly didn’t want a repeat of it. Even so, the four factions were quick to action, splitting up and preparing to get to the bottom of things in their own ways.

She glanced between them as she took a seat to recover her energy and watched from the sidelines, trying to pick the best one and failing miserably. At times like these, it called for a more sophisticated method of choice…

"Eenie meanie minie moe; Do a tiger toe a catch. If he does the holler, drop. Eenie meanie minie…"

That one!

…who were they again?

Eh. Celestine would simply slip in and find out later.

It was a mixed group for sure. A lively woman showing off her little robot was the most attention grabbing (mostly due to the pain she caused her ears), but there were quite a few others. She focused on the one closest to her, murmuring something concerning…

@Ilusa Nakhalee

"Fever…?" Celestine echoed. Well, they had just traveled through some nasty rain. She brushed the felis’ hair aside and placed her hand on her forehead.

"You are not feeling like you do yourself a fever. Maybe be lying down? Some people are having themselves the sickness of wagon motions."

Celestine took a seat herself as more people joined the group.

"…Also, of what did I just do the join?"

And so, at last, Cynna was returned to sender. Hopping down, Cynna looked up at @Asher with a wicked grin. Cynna was feeling... satisfied... with her revenge on mushroom kind, at least for now. Yes, Cynna was grateful to her borrowed champion.

"You've done well my champion. Should you need a nuisance DELETED sometime, you need only ask. I am VERY capable. HOWEVER----I WILL NOT BE JOINING THE LIONS---Their VIM and their VINEGAR would NEVER give me a moment's rest. I RESPECT their work ethic, however, so GROW strong and find me MORE enemies to destroy. I WILL look forward to it. The world OUGHT to show me 1000 times more respect, as many as there are swords in that one man's name. Be well, Asher. I will be ANNOYED if you die. AND, should you find a way to ATTACK THE SKY you need only call, IT SHOULD KNOW BETTER THAN TO MAKE ME DRENCHED."

Cynna waved and turned with a hmph. What a tsundere. Even so...

Mail

We work well together, I suppose. If you are in trouble I MAY help you OUT. PERHAPS... MAYBE... (Accept Friend Request?)

"I've finally caught up to you Regan. I haven't met the man but if he half as good at analysis as they say, surely he will have seen our prowess and what good he could have accomplished if he had found us sooner. They are no explorers, but anyone with an ounce of leadership OUGHT to recognize a diamond in the diamonds. There isn't a roughness about us."

Cynna was hoisted. She was being carried like equipment. She was used to this, and it was better than walking. WALKING was beneath her. Now, literally.

"I have heard that the leader of the Adventurer's Guild is a very shrewd ruler, with many secrets, I think that is interesting. But, it is also true that those who stick to the shadows lack the ability to banish them. I RESPECT sound tactics, but I will be very very annoyed if I am going to be asked to constantly scuttle about. They had better leave the legwork for the ledgermen, all that I NEED is a good view of the target."

And so, they arrived. And Laylabelle was hoisted to make her introduction. The Doll-like Magia frowned.

"I am Cynna. I require two things. TARGETS that have already bothered me and TARGETS that will soon do so. I am VERY proactive. PLEASED to meet you."

Nothing left to say, she hung there in silence until Regan, perhaps, carried her off.

Tristaria stared blankly at the groups as they quickly swelled from a few people to small armies. There was practically zero chance she didn’t pick MIT, but if the faction failed to impress her, well… maybe she’d be better off trying to break the game from Explorer’s Guild or something. After all, new content tended to be the most broken.

Spawning a large mana battery from her inventory straight into her arms, she inserted a straw, and began to drink the mana like a delicious soft drink. It tasted like nothing, of course, but it felt nice in other ways. Good way to pass the time while everyone got situated.

@Mystia

That said, Tris loved mechs. A lot! She’d already noticed another familiar face (@Tetsunosuke) who’d had his familiar mech out earlier, but he seemed to be hiding out somewhere, while this little faerin was right in the open.

"Nice," she complimented it, pointing her finger to her mechanical friend just to make it clear what she was actually commenting on. "I hope to see a lot of things like this here at MIT."

She took another sip of her mana battery.

Athena opened her eyes slowly, seeing nothing but the magical aura's of all the people around her. Her meditation time had been fairly productive and she had managed to resolve some of the mental stresses that she had been feeling ever since the incident with the Myconids. She hadn't helped at all. It wasn't that she hadn't tried... Well, she had tried as well as a blind person could. In the chaos and drama she had completely forgotten about the fact that her hyper sense hearing could have enabled her to join in the fight.

She had always had her head in the clouds, but she vowed from now on she would center herself and act calmly but with force whenever stressful situations came around. She had spent the last week since working on this resolve.

The blonde and sharply dressed hot knight lady adjusted her blindfold, tightening it absentmindedly as she once again tried to find her bearings. It wasn't much use, all these people had fairly distinct magical auras, but she barely knew any of them so that wasn't much help. Finally she caught sight of the aura she was looking for, the leader of the Lion Arms group. She wandered over, gracefully weaving through the other people and plopping down.

At first, it seemed like the decision would be difficult, but it would appear that @Corsair in her own special way had made it for him. "You take care of yourself to, if I find out you ate a death while running with MIT I'm gonna be gunning for them and never letting you out of my sights on one of these again." Of course he had not business with MIT, unless they were suddenly deeply interested in Pyrokinetic fueled rocketry he had nothing for them. He wasn't magical, and he wasn't particularly bright.

That left three to go.

The explorers guild felt like a bit of a non starter. He wasn't very keen on long distance traveling in this game, he'd yet to find a way he enjoyed rolling around. A guild all about that sort of travel seemed a bit antithetical to what he wanted to do.

That left Lion Arms and the Adventurers Guild. He had to admit, the Lions Arms seemed tempting. He'd heard a buncha bro talk about getting yolked ambiently from them. It seemed like something he'd always wanted to be a part of as Olivier, but now that he potentially could get his foot in the door he was only slightly bitter about it.

A voice caught his attention, @Mighty Rumblehide the Elf was waving her mace flagging him down, and he couldn't help but notice the dog tags that signified her as a member of the Adventurer's guild swinging about as she signed for him. In fact, he knew a couple people in that Guild. He would lock eyes with her and smile, wading through the crowd to find her.

"Yo! Mighty!" He would grunt as he approached. "I see you made it in one piece! You ready to crack some skulls together?"

He ambiently worried about other friends of his like @Alonso Thorlion and @Toko. He had no way of knowing where they were, or if they were safe. He vaguely recalled hearing that @Elizabeth Lixshine had been involved in an accident towards the front of the train, but he had been too busy gunning down mushrooms. He's seen @Kaede Hoshi earlier, exchanged a wave and a smile, but her presence made him wary of the potential tragedy lurking in wait.

The rainstorm was a relief. While Cyrus generally preferred watching the magnificence of nature from the inside out, and did not enjoy shuddering as he got chilled to the bones while as wet as a drowned rat, it was nonetheless refreshing in its beauty. Thunder boomed, lightning flashed across the sky, and the sound of rain overtook everything else. For a while, he just sat peacefully atop a moving cart, cross-legged and eyes closed.

Then, it was back to work. Sighing, Cyrus helped prevent his wagon from flooding as best as he was able to. Really, for a game, there was a lot of…unpalatable grunt work, much too reminiscent to exactly the kind of disaster relief one'd expect in real life.

It was still storming when they arrived at the encampment. The sight that met them was worse than anything Cyrus had ever seen in any horror movie. Having only that as a reference point was severly lacking. His eyes couldn't help but track the minute details of the massacre, nose registering the sickly sweet stench of death. He averted his gaze after what felt like much too long; as if the moment had been frozen in time, yet stretching towards unknowable eternity.

Deep inhale, long exhale. Nothing for it. Can't help the dead, no point letting 'em scare me away this soon.

Thankfully, the rain was there to wash it all away. All the worst of it obscured, muted – eventually erased.

***

Despite its grim environment, Camp Nisus still served its functions of providing them all with a place to eat, rest, and even socialize. At arrival, they were told to split apart and head to whichever group interested them. It was not a decision Cyrus had to contemplate at all; he'd been considering joining the Guild, and this would be an opportunity to get a glimpse into how they operated behind the scenes.

Several gathered at his intended destination, most of whom he did not know. However, Cyrus passed by the familiar @Toko, and greeted her with a, "Hey." A small, minutely strained smile graced his lips, his voice a tad more subdued than usual.

Upon the approach of the loud @Regan, Cyrus gave her a dubious side glance, but did not comment beyond a bemused headshake.

After they successfully escaped the mushroom assault Mizuki shifted back towards her humanoid form, answering @Alonso Thorlion's look with one of her own. Like herself he embraced his inner beast to become a monster on the battlefield, and yet it was still distinctly different. Less of a complete transformation, more like an avatar... Interesting.

However, they were in different wagons, so Mizuki wouldn't have the opportunity to talk to the big cat for the rest of the journey. After the battle, it was important to rest, and for once her wolves didn't complain about having to sit in the rolling wooden box.

Her ears perked up when they reached the campsite, her eyes widening as her nostrils flared and a familiar scent entered her nose. Her wolves noticed it as well, looking up from where they had been curled up on the wagon floor. Mizuki stroked their heads to keep them calm until the wagons came to a halt and it was time to get out, at which point she beelined for the massacre that had occurred at the camp, her wolves right behind her. Unfortunate souls who had met a grisly end.

Ignoring the attempts from the knights to get everyone inside, Mizuki would join Childress in inspecting the bodies, although she had no interest in their whistles. Instead, she sniffed the corpses carefully, memorizing their scent. They had to figure out what had caused this, and knowing all the scents in the camp could be helpful for that.

She looked up as @Zelrius approached, her ears folding back for a moment before she relaxed and stood up.

Greetings. I saw you as well, although it was rather difficult with how much you were bouncing about.

That wasn't the only reason, as she'd been busy hunting myconids, but it had been interesting how Zelrius had been like a bladed ping-pong ball. Mizuki's gaze moved to the side as she noticed @Kaede Hoshi waving at her, raising a hand in return before returning her attention to Zelrius.

I'll admit that I'm curious how the other factions work, but I don't think right now is the best time to indulge our curiosity.

Like others, she had noticed the Red Fever condition. They had to be careful, as this place was already affecting them somehow, even though it was currently the mildest of sensations. Mizuki would join up with the Adventurer's Guild, sniffing the air to memorize their scents before making sure her pack was in good shape.

Well, that wasn't so bad all things considered. A pleasant sigh of relief escaped Creature's lips as the group finally arrived at the encampment. Though the place offered little in the way of comforts. The stench of death filled the air here. What could be capable of causing such destruction, he wondered. But the man's ruminating would have to wait as Levi explained how they would proceed. Splitting up meant he'd have to carefully consider which faction to follow. The clock was ticking.

Creature was busy digging through one of the wagons for more gauze. He'd been tending to his wounds while resting on a toadstool but soon ran out. A familiar voice caused him to stop and turn to greet the elf woman with a smile. It was nice to have a friend in a place like this.

"Ah, Triss! Wasn't sure if you'd be coming… But yeah, let's check them out. Maybe we'll meet someone who might be able to help us out later."

Vina breathed a sigh of relief once @Ru Ning successfully followed up and rescued those who'd been in the overturned wagon. It looked like they got out of the fight unscathed, which was the best outcome she could have hoped for. Maybe they could have somehow negotiated a peaceful passage with the myconids, but there had been no time and the mushrooms hadn't come across as open to diplomacy. Better to count her blessings than to bemoan what couldn't be changed.

The hand on her shoulder startled her before she recognized who it belonged to, at which point Vina answered @Cleo Looker with a bright smile.

I'm glad we managed to quickly rescue them. I'm not much of a fighter, but I'll make sure to look after everyone who needs help~ And thank you for keeping the myconids at bay: they must have taken offence to us crossing their territory in such large numbers.

The rest of the journey was calm, and it didn't take long before Vina's ears perked up when they entered a different zone. However, soon after the rain came crashing down, and she found herself quickly soaked, her clothes and her hair sticking to her and her tail heavy with water. Her smile didn't disappear, however, as she was quite happy for a refreshing shower after the running fight they had to endure before.

Her expression quickly paled when she saw what had become of the camp, even turning slightly green as she had to suppress the desire to empty her stomach. She'd seen death before, but this was particularly brutal. She was all too happy to follow Levi and Chad into the giant mushroom, where they explained that they'd be split up as each faction would handle a different part of the expedition. During the speech she checked her status, frowning as she noticed the Red Fever condition. Worse, apparently it had stacks, if the number was any indication.

We shouldn't stick around for too long if we can help it.

At least the choice was easy. She'd already signed up with Lion Arms, so that's the group she'd attach herself to. Seeing that @Fina Drago had yet to join a group she waved at the feline weaponmaster.

We'll be safer if we work together~

It looked like Lion Arms also had some of the most experienced Travelers on its side, which already made Vina feel a lot safer... even if it also meant that the other factions would be more exposed.

The fight was over before Megan knew what happened. She had managed to thin some of the heard of mushroomheads, but truth be told the battle was practically all but over by the time she had arrived. Really she was regulated to clean up duty on the few that had remained. Frustrated and distraught at this she was caught unaware at @Moonsong 's comments and as such stood there gaping like a fish for a moment before puffing up in anger.

"I'll have you know I AM The greatest white witch of Narnia!" She claimed despite clearly not knowing what Narnia was but assumed the title of white witch was dedicated to the greatest ice magician. It had a nice ring to it, she'd use it again.

"I'm the famous mage without a name! The rebel of Astorea. The daughter of the red star comet. Goddess of the mountain! I have no name for I have shed it!...." She trailed off before becoming strangely meek adding, "B-b-but you can call me Megan if you must. That used to be my name... At one point."

The fight went reasonably well. At least for the group as a whole, anyhow. For Fina, personally, it was a bit of a struggle. Quite apparent that she was still rather new to the whole thing. She took a bit of a beating and did barely any damage even when trying to attack heavily disadvantaged opponents. A bit disheartening, but at least she was still in one piece, and the more minor wounds were bound to stop hurting quickly.

Although she even had to be saved a few times. When @Roland Rutledge cut down the living mushroom that nearly got the feline in the back, she would quickly glance in his direction and nod. "Y-yeah, thanks!" It was a bit hard to get any more out of herself. Perhaps if they managed to bump into one another in this chaos of countless players, she could thank him a bit more appropriately for saving her like that.

With everything in order, the girl swiftly returned to the cart, hoping to take a breather. Though the fact that they were attacked like this kept her tense and restless, ensuring that she did not recover as much as she probably could have. Once in the camp, Fina's reaction was similar to @Vina Skysong, once again proving that the game was perhaps realistic to a fault. Trying not to pay the gore any attention, she just dragged herself to the spot where they were all meeting, the smell of decaying flesh still assaulting her sensitive nose. It was horribly distracting, and all she got from the brief was that they had to split into multiple groups.

Leaning against the side of the mushroom outside, the girl let out a sigh. She wasn't exactly familiar with any of the factions except the Lions, but she hardly wanted to join them… or anyone else, for that matter. Felt like a trap to her. That said, the pale-haired songstress managed to find her once again, paired with @Cleo Looker as well. "O-oh… yeah, I suppose…" A bit meek, it seemed that the decision was made for her. Better to go with someone she knew at least a little bit about than with a group of total strangers.

After the tough job it was to fight against the mushrooms, it seemed like everything was handled pretty well. With Levi's instructions, he nodded and quickly turned around to see @Corsair and her way to word things out, grinning slightly. "That's a cute way to say you are worried about us." He chuckled, peeking at @Brutus Dahlgren before nodding toward Corsair again. "Make sure to stay safe too, and if you need anything, just send a message and I will try to figure something out." He said, waving at both of them before turning around to go with the Lions.

As he was getting there,

Looking at @Vina Skysong, Hanno couldn't help but smirk. "Can't get yourself out of trouble for even a damn second, huh? I guess we just can't get enough of problems before tossing ourselves into something else." Hanno joked, then almost bumping his shield at @Asher as he moved without really paying attention on his path.

"Oh, my bad, buddy-" He apologized.

As soon as the message popped up, Ruby blinked, checked it, and squinted, looking around and starting to search for @Ru Ning until she could find him, where she promptly retaliated with a tail slap (that was honestly soft). "I'm not a kiddo, Ning-" She hissed, but it was clearly playful as she paused and swayed her tail. "I'm good so far, I hope you are handling it well too," Ruby said, and he most likely was doing well, especially seeing how he was just resting peacefully after all the chaos.

It seemed like he didn't find the 'Red Fever' stack to be worrisome.

She was just about to take a seat next to Ning to join him at the rest, especially now that she was back to her comfort zone... But before she could, a familiar voice made her perk up with tails and ears raising.

"Birdie!" Ruby exclaimed, running and attacking @Bluebird with a hug.

"You are still around, that's good to know. Seems like our practices are bearing fruits." She giggled.

Kamala stole a glimpse of @Pete Simpson and @Ayna Nietzsche fighting their antagonists but it was just a quick and brief look, wanting instead to focus on her then task at hand, which was to make sure the rest of the wagon was in top shape. They were already both doing the heavy lifting. Kamala felt she needed to focus on her own thing to contribute. Otherwise, she'd let them down, and she didn't want to be anyone's dead weight. She heaved a sigh of relief once the turmoil was over, giving both her friends a wide grin and an excited nod.

"I'm fine, I'm fine! We're all fine! There's no need to worry, friends!"

Kamala couldn't help but chuckle at the further interactions between Pete and Ayna. She thought it was cute, as if they were an older couple. Maybe not the best example, the most ideal of couples, but the married ones bickered like them, didn't they? She didn't mind the rain, as the Sprouts with her celebrated underneath the shower of blessing, and they just focused on making sure the wagon was fine. Getting wet was not a problem for Kamala.

Finally arriving at the destination, she felt a heavy weight on her shoulder as the situation seemed less than ideal. Very less than ideal. It was debatably the worst greeting she had experienced, and mostly because the greeters were, well, they couldn't even greet themselves. She wondered if the Explorers League had to suffer like this on a daily basis, or at least more often than not. Should she still join them? What if she ended up like these whistles... That's exactly why I should help! Me and my Sprouts! We could prevent stuff like this from happening ever again! Or most likely just minimize the deaths. Hopefully.

She turned to the others with furious determination.

"I'm going with the Explorers! I may not be the strongest or the bravest or the smartest, but I feel like I can help prevent things like this from happening again. Or at least help make sure that the whistles are safe and sound! Everyone do the same, okay? Stay safe and sound! I'll keep in touch through comms! You all should, too!"

"Come back with an amazing story to tell me!" Frey yells at @Toko, who skips away the moment they are ordered to find groups.

A feminine voice comes from his side, one he recognized from the cart, but just as he is about to answer the pink-haired woman's question, he is pulled into @Essence's hug, words momentarily drowned by his surprise. "Alright, alright..." He taps her on the arm, shooting @Kyoko an apologetic look as she is also dragged into the embrace. "It was crazy indeed, but we aren't finished. You two take care of yourselves, alright? Patch up your wounds before moving out!"

And so begins his voluntary job of distributing supplies amongst Lander and players.

"Need help with that?" He asks @Caelia Etterni by way of greeting, stifling a laugh as he tilts his head aside. He observes her handiwork, and instead of distracting her, he places a waterskin and a wrapped sandwich on whatever surface is immediately available. "Gotta go. Need to finish giving these out, you know? I... I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting to see you here, but you are a welcome sight any time. Do your best out there!"

A message pops up in his UI, warning of the discovery made by @Ash Vargold. He types in response as best he can manage, going about the camp looking for others in need of assistance. Or a friendly face.

It is then that a voice cuts through the crowd. With a sigh, he approaches the pair ( @Moonsong and @Blank ) engaged in what seemed like a conversation gone awfully wrong. "No use screaming like that in this rain, we don't want you getting sick. Find yourself someplace warm, save that energy."

To Moonsong, "You are one of them, right? The ones who had problems with their wagon? I couldn't quite assist, but... Are you alright? Ah, never mind that. Here, eat up. Sorry to interrupt."

His hand reaches inside his cape, coming back with supplies to offer them. The smallest hint of a smile tugs at the corner of his lips, and though he would usually give his full introduction, he merely bows his head and walks away after ensuring they had accepted the food.

Volunteer work done, he dusts his hands off on his attire, eyes searching about the encampment for the group where the Explorers would've claimed for themselves. @Sol, a friend of his, and an explorer to boot, sticks out like a sore thumb in the landscape, showing him exactly where to go.

"What a good boy you are. Yes, you are. Such a good boy." The words were followed by assorted smooching and cooing noises as Magdalyn rained love on the little bay gelding. He was sweaty, and looked as if he might topple over at any moment, but that didn't stop her from burying her face in his neck and inhaling deeply. "I know it was hard, but you did so good. I'm so proud of you."

The horse's paper-thin nostrils flared, and he turned to nuzzle her shoulder with his velvet lips. He might have just handed her a million dollars, considering the smile that broke across her flushed face.

"I love you too," she assured him, reaching over to scratch his shoulder. "Now if only you could help me decide which faction I should team up with."

The look in the bay's dark, soulful eyes held both patience and pity. In other words, 'I just dragged your sorry ass around for a week - I can't be expected to do everything.'

Mags simply sighed in a way that sent her blue bangs fluttering. "I figure it should probably be the Lions, right? Since I went to their meeting?" Or was tricked into their meeting? Magdalyn paused long enough to swipe the back of her hand across her eyes. The motion did little to clear the water away, as the pouring rain had saturated every part of her body. "Yeah, I guess it should be the Lions."

The gelding snorted - in agreement? - and Mags gave him a final pat. "Thanks again." Then, she slipped deeper into the camp. The gore turned her stomach, and she fought to keep her gaze locked straight ahead. Talking to someone might help distract her from the carnage. Anything might help.

So Mags beamed a smile toward the nearest Player. "Hey," she greeted, lifting a rain-slicked hand to greet @Madison Freebird. "You heading toward the Lions too, then?"

Sometime after the kidnapping + being saved... The group had made their way to camp. And Lucy was as lost as ever...

Walking past player and NPC alike, Lucy could be barely seen standing on her tiptoes trying her utmost hardest to catch a glimpse of the familiar aura and appearance. With her eyes widened, searching everywhere, Lucy's eyes picked up on a sight that was the most gruesome.

A man, not much taller than her was attempting to wipe blood from his face, muttering something about not having a handkerchief. Lucy did what she did best, she walked right on up, plucking a small leaf from a nearby plant.

Forgetting momentarily about her quest she held out the leaf, "Best not to smear it everywhere." Lucy then focused on the leaf sending her magic out, watching as it grew in her palm. "It's not the same as handkerchief, but it will work I imagine, plus it's soft!"

She handed @Jin the leaf before introducing herself. "I'm Lucy, it's a pleasure to meet you!" It wasn't long before Jin wiped the blood and thanked her for leaf. Moments later, Lucy's eyes would widen as she remembered needing to find Haru, "Oh no! I almost forgot I have to find Haru... Help me please?" Not even waiting to see if Jin had agreed, Lucy spun around and began to wildly look around.

Lost in trying to find him Lucy wouldn't notice @Essence until she smacked right into her body. Her face planting right into her honkers. Hands reaching up, squeezing as she tried to wiggle free. "What the... Is this a pillow?" Lucy managed to untangle her body, eyes open and mouth ajar. Her hands dropping. "Oh my god, i'm so sorry."

Lucy bowed her head, "I'm Lucy. I'm looking for my friend Haru, i'm so sorry again..." Essence would place a finger under Lucy's chin, lifting her face as Jin watched with no emotion, not really sure what was going on.

"It's okay babe, i'll help you." Not even with a second to lose, Essence would wink at Lucy and begin shouting out to find Haru. "HARU! HARUUUUU! THERE IS A LUCY HERE LOOKING FOR YOU, SHE WANTS YOUUUU!"

Jin would cover his ears slowly, clicking his tongue in annoyance. It wasn't long before Haru emerged from beyond wherever he had been. Lucy grinned widely, giving her thanks to the duo and ran right up to @Haru. "You're safe! I'm so glad!" Lucy was visually uncertain of what to do, before her arms opened for a hug. Whether or not Haru would hug her was up to him.

What an exhausting experience.

Avery was happy with the work she was able to do to help prevent too many injuries, but now, with the dust settling, she felt a wave of fatigue wash over her. Everyone that she had become acquainted with on her journey so far seemed to be splitting up, and to that she felt a twinge of sadness. She had hoped that this battle would bring them all closer together. The girl was set on being a part of the MIT, and knew that not many of her friends were affiliated with her guild in the first place.

She had no fear for her friends, however, and knew that they would thrive among their parties. The Lion Arms were definitely in good hands with @Harlow on their side. If she had questioned his decision to join them before, the Magia’s lack of hesitation to protect @Zelrius in the midst of combat would ensure Avery that Harlow was a perfect fit for the guild. Zel's bravery to dive into combat was inspiring, and @Sol 's quick thinking and usage of her powers was impressive, albiet hard to watch. All of her companions would make great additions to any team. They had demonstrated already that they could hold their own, and she knew they would flourish. Maybe she was a little biased. For this reason, Avery couldn’t stay sad for long. She knew they would see each other again. Maybe she would even make new friends.

Content with these thoughts, the alchemist retreated to the wagon dedicated to the MIT and melted into a seat. She rested her head on the wall, closed her eyes, and within seconds drifted into a well-deserved slumber.

It was both smoother and messier than he imagined. The higher ranked members of the various factions took the charge and lead while he stayed in the rear helping in the small ways that he could. But soon enough things calmed down and the wounded were tended to. With so far as he could tell no casualties. Not that he expected any this close to the start of the mission. When he stopped by @Trissayne Lavelle after the fight, he blinked as she swiped the charm right off him to the ground. He didn't think someone would curse him or fuck with him before a fight. But she was right, you never knew.

Quietly he went about his way following the rest of the Adventurer's Guild members as the camps were made and split, as he wasn't given much direction and probably overlooked. A quick glance around would spot at least two familiar faces. That of @Zelrius and @Kyoko. Making his way to stand by their side, he listened in as they spoke to some unknowns. The memory of Zelrius rocketing about was an amusing memory, one that prompted him to wonder. Could the man outrun an arrow? Idle thoughts during idle time, let him recover from the minor damage he had taken during the scuffle. Though the one thing of worry.

What the hell was Red Fever?

Gideon leaped from the driver's bench, legs a bit shakier than she would ever care to admit. Driving the wagon at neck-breaking speeds across bumpy terrain might have been thrilling if it hadn't shaken her up so much. A backwards glance confirmed that the wagon still contained the other three players, though they struggled beneath some overturned barrels. My bad, Gideon thought with no real sympathy or regret.

She walked past their sweaty horse, still attached to the wagon, and gave it's side a pat. She didn't really like horses, but she didn't actively dislike them, either. And this one had done a half-way decent job of keeping up with the rest of the pack. So... kudos to it.

As Gideon moved to explore the camp, a shout from behind snagged her attention. Muscles, it seemed, wanted to thank them for the job well done. "Yeah, good shit," she answered back, executing a quick salute in farewell before turning her back on the three fellow newbies. They seemed like good people. She didn't really like good people, but she didn't actively dislike them either.

Now she had a choice to make. Lion Arms, which definitely contained more of those good people. Hell, she'd put money on at least one of her wagon-mates choosing the Pride. Then there was MIT, which was probably just the nerd table from her high school. Adventurers Guild called to her, considering how it encouraged independence; there would be no holding hands and singing kumbaya. Plus, the money. Was there anything that she wanted more than money?

Yes.

Action.

So Gideon squared her narrow shoulders, and took off in the direction of the Explorers League. Along the way, she noticed a familiar face.

"Let me guess," the woman began, slowing to a halt beside @Jin. "Explorers League? I mean, I figure that's where all the kids with death wishes go."
