Kat stumbled into the camp, a bit busted up, but not nearly as bad as she could be. The time in the swamp honestly felt like a blur to her, and she was having trouble remembering why she had gone so far as to climb a giant golem and shove her arm into it. Even for the fun-loving Kat, that definitely felt very extreme. After she was vaccinated with temporary immunity, she felt better and more stable. It was nice to just feel her regular joy, rather than the anger, disgust, and extreme joy that she had been fighting since she got here to this god-forsaken camp.

And in the end, @Ryoubai had made it, just in time to watch her girlfriend get lit up like a Christmas tree after sticking her arm in a golem's head. The ends of her pigtails were still lightly smoking from the powerful magi-electric zap she received from that. But, what she did seemed to matter, even if only a little, as the golem was defeated. Now they were here, at camp, cleansed of the illness that plagued them... for now.

Word was quickly spreading that this wasn't the end. That the sickness wouldn't go away until the demon corpse that was causing it was defeated. That, and there were people in need of saving that had been captured.

Kat didn't know these people, she had no real obligation to them. But, after everything that had happened with the golem, she felt really... excited. She wanted more than anything to see this through to the end. She looked to Ryou, who she had dragged with her into this. Holding her hand, Kat looked oddly serious. Perhaps the lingering effects of the Red Fever were still playing with her emotions, but she wanted to clarify things to her girlfriend.

"I'm going to help them finish this, or die trying. I'd like you to be there with me. But I understand if you think it's too dangerous or don't want to take the risk and would like to log out. Either way, I'm going to fight."

A figure stood singular in the crowd's edge, ignoring the drama that played out between the monstrous powers of the guild heads. It did not think of other human life. He thought of his own alone. That is not to say that others neglected to speak with him, merely that he had ignored them. @Lucy had followed him for the longest of times, telling him to bring Haru back to her. She'd done so for a long time until he had enough of it.

"Haru is not here today, girl. Get out of my sight, before you find yourself next to be lost."

5zbUAfv.jpg

Turning to her with gaze strewn red, that which was someone else dismissed her so. He'd watched Lucy leave after that-and a few more firm dismissals-yet he felt that she would return again in this long night. The thought irritated him.

He spoke the truth-Haru moved this body no longer. Oberon remained in his stead. He felt the sage rest quietly in his chest even after the Red Fever's grasp loosened under the Serenity Mist. Perhaps it was the old sage's way of thanking Oberon, or maybe he just needed rest after the strain--Even still, Oberon would not allow a chance for freedom lie. He would take this opportunity to do one more favor for Haru still, despite his previous words-he fully intended to destroy the corpse that had birthed the Red Fever as a whole. He would not allow this disease to fester any deeper than it had.

Oberon was not alone, despite how he pushed others away-he stood together with Haru in his heart. With resolve he readied himself for the coming storm that loomed in the horizon, red and thundering and awaiting his arrival.

Oberon and Haru were as one. Their soul was held aloft around their body, blackening into an iron shell. Their many eyes peered from the cracks, each waiting for life to crawl through so that they might devour what trespassed upon his form. Spears welled in the depths of his body, cutting at his shell, waiting to be thrown.

"I tire of this waiting. I tire of these people. Their noises are scars upon our elegy."

The monster given human form was impatient. He was patient at most times, yet not now-not when they had insulted him with the plague they had infected the sage with. He wished to make the others pay.

A voice hung on the wind by his ears, bringing him peace.

"The time will come, my friend. A night is but a few hours' time."

"All too little for that pathetic girl. She will be feast for the insects before we next awaken. I had warned you that she was weak."

"Ha, ha, ha... Could it be that you worry for Lucy?"

A sneer crossed his lips. His teeth gazed at the unseen, unheard voice with marrow eyes.

"I fear our foes will be well fed for tomorrow. It irks me to think that they could have anything nice."

The chuckling that remained around his head was delighted at the response. He was amused to no end, it seemed.

When she had first felt that burst of emotion, blooming against her skull like ink within clear waters, she had logged off. It was confirmed, in that moment, exactly what sort of game Terrasphere was, and exactly how it could accomplish the deed of killing humans despite using industry-standard hardware. To be able to affect one's very emotions, to be able to tease chemical responses within the brain, was a feat that was reprehensible and enticing.

Nai figured, then, that one could become truly, wholeheartedly, genuinely happy playing this game, laughing all the way until they killed themselves for it, and then continuing to laugh even after they crossed that point.

So she logged out. Before the anger could seize her, the sorrows could cripple her, the joy could intoxicate her, the fear could paralyze her, the disgust could nauseate her. And then, sitting by the windowsill, watching a glimmer of the sky, Aurora waited.

Waited for a little bird to send a message, and returned on time to catch the cure.

And now, with this virtual world in jeopardy, with demons on the rise, a whole party of players missing, and NPCs warning people to not get involved with all this? It was a special slice of madness, to be sure. But the novelty of open skies had worn off within the first week of travel, and she could not feign ignorance now that she had involved herself again.

Fools tread on, mistaking fecklessness for fearlessness.

It didn't matter that she knew no one there, that she shared no experiences, that her own strength within this game was even more lacking than what she possessed in reality. Because she knew too, the way raindrops stuck to windows would cascade downwards with the release of a single drop.

All it took was that single drop.

So Nai, alone, sat down upon a rotted stump, her golden hair spilling down onto the dirt. One by one, she withdrew crude irons from her sleeves and her pockets, the folds of her attire that enabled sleight.

One by one, she sharpened them, oiled them, poisoned them.

Luck composed her might, but preparation sharpened her mind.

One drop at a time.

As the machine dispensed its mist, Corsair's rage faded, barely more that a glaring red memory. A memory of tearing open living creatures in the feverish search for a cure. The hard shells of the trilobites hadn't even broken her skin, and her pristine hands looked as sharp and sturdy as ever.

She sought out @Alonso Thorlion, who she vaguely recalled healing her amidst her brutal, scientific fugue. "Thank you. I'm not sure if you're sticking around, but if you are I'll try to have your back."

@Hanno Futaba found her amidst the preparations and chaos, and she felt the numbed anger turn to joy. She gave her shielded friend a mild smile. "I'm ready for whatever is next," Corsair said, still inspecting her hands. "They said it was a demon corpse? That can hardly be worse than the sentries." Those bots had left her smoking and full of holes, and it had taken weeks to fulls repair all of the little internal burns and broken wires.

@Brutus Dahlgren approached. He looked bruised yet beaming, his natural state, and was sporting a set of golden dog tags around his neck. "I don't suppose you're running away eh? No? Well, I can't possibly turn tail and run then. I'm assembling a team, can I count on your assistance?"

Corsair took the bait, replying to him with one of his own lines from their heist in Honeyhome. It was the perfect callback. A sign of the depth of their bond and understanding. "Brutus, you son of a bitch, I'm in."

He finds himself sitting on the hard ground, his knees drawn up to his chest, his head between them. The ringing in his ears was nauseating. Even clenching his eyes shut couldn't stop the world from tilting and the cacophonous voices of his peers from attempting to draw his attention. He feels sick to his stomach and the urge to vomit presses against the back of his tongue, begging him to relent and let go.

Instead, he takes a deep breath through his nostrils and exhales through his mouth. In that instant, the dizziness fades, the ringing stops, and his stomach settles. He lifts his head, sniffles, blinks, and takes in the world around him. Being healed back from the brink of death was never a pleasant experience, but he was thankful for the assistance all the same. His muscles ache, his bones felt like rubber, and he needed about three glasses of water, but he was alive.

And he would continue assisting the expedition in any way he could while he still had the means to do so.

When the Serenity Mist distributors had found Ludmilla, they had to pry her away from the corpse of the great boss ape, Ook Ook Eek. Hunched over like some kind of blood-starved beast, the Faerin caster was all but gorging herself on the freshly slain psionic ape, burying her face in the warm flesh.

When approached, she spoke not a word between feral grunts and salivation, fixing any who closed in with the manic, uncomprehending glare of a predator daring any scavengers to interrupt its meal. Hands working at a frantic pace to pummel, tenderize and shovel down mouthful after mouthful of steaming viscera into her ceaselessly gnashing jaws, rivulets of dripping gore soak through her dress, turning her into a terrible reddened specter.

Reasoning that this must be some acute effect of the Red Fever, the MIT personnel weren't exactly wrong, though not exactly right either.

Once Ludmilla had been spritzed from a safe distance and returned to her senses, she appeared appropriately horrified by her actions and circumstances and promptly logged out to compose herself.

Frankly, Brie had not expected a VR game to be able to affect someone on such a deep neurological level. They didn't feel like eating lunch, not because they were disgusted by their own creation's (for that was what Ludmilla was, right?) bloodlust, but because they felt strangely full. Like they had eaten far too much to stomach, in fact. But when they looked in the bathroom mirror, nauseous and daring the feeling to rise, there was only an empty acid reflux in response.

Surely not. Surely Terrasphere would not alter their very physiology in that way. But the hunger had been real, and the sating too had...felt real.

Putting on their headset and locking their door with a 'Busy Writing!' sign out front to keep their roommate out, Brie took a deep breath on the stuffy Friday afternoon and prepared to skip another lecture.

After getting up to speed on the precise nature of the Red Fever, its treatment and the resolution thereof from various expedition members hanging about the camp, Ludmilla decides that she would stick around to help however she could. She would very much like to see what a demon corpse looked like.

Well, maybe a little more than just see.

When Bluebird reaches the camp, she is too exhausted to speak. Her voice is raspy and as spent as her energy reserves. She's led somewhere to rest, to have the mist administered to her... but though it may stave off the feverish emotions once flooding her mind, it just makes room for the natural ones to take root.

She left them there.

She knows, of course, that this isn't real. They may die, but they will return. Ruby, Guy, Sol - they might die, but they'll wake again, they'll meet again, disappointed in their loss, but cheerful in their reunion.

But she feels like she's abandoned them. Like she abandoned her family, like she betrayed her history. They are still there, still suffering, and all she could do was flee, and now it seems the Explorers won't help her keep her promise to return for them.

She won't allow herself to cry here - there are too many eyes for it to be safe. So she buries her grief in action. In preparation. "You should log out," a man says, and she does. She takes off the headset and wipes all too real tears from her eyes. Drinks. Eats. She cancels an appointment, claiming illness.

She logs back in.

Bluebird seeks out @Ru Ning eventually, eyes sharp and fists clenched as she speaks with a bitterness he's never heard from her.

"I'm going back. If the Explorers will not act, then I shall. I won't abandon them."

@Kat Otsu
Spritz spritz spritz...

Why did she still look so darn perky...? Tris leaned in closer, bringing the mist dispenser right to her face.

Spriiiiiitz~

"Are you immune to this or something...?" Tris wondered, part way between asking the small magia seriously and wondering to herself out loud. "There's no way that's your normal face."

@Pandora*

Tristaria had... quite a few people to apologize to. Although, thankfully, everyone else had gone insane too, so she felt less like a naughty deviant if for that reason only. Noticing Elynn, Tris stepped up behind her and tapped her on the shoulder, holding out the drilling machine.

"Here. Sorry I swiped it earlier." As the drill machine passed hands, several chunks of beaten metal dislodged and fell to the floor with a loud clatter. "It broke. Also, I filled out the qualifying exam on the way here; submit there for me." Tris handed over a-- by this point, stained and slightly ripped --letter with "Tristaria" written on the top. "I figure you must be more familiar with the exam submission process than anyone by this point."

@Haru

There were a number of people to apologize to, but one had stood to stop her, and he deserved a special thanks. It didn't take long to find the silver-haired man, though he wasn't exactly very close to all the action. Tristaria approached from behind, but as soon as she was close enough to catch sight of his face, Tris realized this guy was an absolute wreck! No, he wasn't... wounded exactly, but more... well...

Spritz spritz spritz~

Hopefully a few doses straight to the face would clear up that crazy look in his eyes. "Thanks for earlier, I guess."

Heart pounding and legs moving faster than he ever could have imagined them to be capable of, Schilva is forced to squint and shield his face with his arms as the jungle whips past, low-hanging branches and foliage almost skinning his face and leaves matting his hair as he takes a more chaotic, disorganised escape route through the jungle than the other escapees. Arlyn's last request was the bring word back, but the sheer state of Schilva should have been enough to discern the League's dire straits.

As his fellow survivors arrive in short order and go to report in their own ways, Schilva collapses to his hands and knees as he stumbles into camp, clutching at his heaving chest and choking out breathlessly;
"BUGS! OH, GOD, BUGS! SO MANY! SO MANY BUGS!"

The Serenity Mist dispensaries soon got around to him, if only to prevent him from ending up as a convulsing heap on the ground. The ruffled swordsman is sat down for rations, which he devours voraciously after such a strenuous sprint. In short order, stiff pats on the back from strangers are delivered, empty congratulations for his cowardice.

Staring at the empty bowl in his hands and chasing the crumbs of a spent meal with his spoon, Schilva rocked back and forth, mumbling something to himself. If one got close enough, they may be able to hear vaguely what he was saying to himself as he fiddled with a mussel-shell and a mirror within it.
"It's me...that's me...I am...am I? No...coward...no, no, I'm...it's not right, it's not right..."

The longer he looks at himself in the mirror, then flips it back again, the more he convinces himself that the reflection of him looking resolute and thirsting for vindication is the true image, as opposed to the pallid and shivering wretch that he saw on the other side. It was as he should be, and that was his decision!

"I WILL NOT SUFFER TO BE DISGRACED AGAIN! CHILDRESS!"
With a start, Schilva gets to his feet, bowl and spoon clattering to the floor. A few heads turn, but are generally uninterested until Schilva points out Childress for the second time while adjusting his sword to fit more comfortably.
"You may not see those souls in peril as more than whistles to pave a path of blood, but you don't know their faces! Their names! This one here - you!"
He makes a grand gesture towards @Bluebird.
"I con-fucking-cur! If you won't then I, the great Schilva Flasch, WILL!"

He was going to reclaim that honour he lost in the only way a hero should; with a heroic act of equal or greater magnitude!

Aisling hits `Publish`.

Vaguely, she wishes she could set up some kind of view counter on her blog. Some way to know just how many people are actually looking at what she's writing that doesn't depend on them posting a comment. She can't advertise it or spread the word without drawing the wrong attention on it, but she wishes she could know if her words were being heard, or if she was just screaming into the void.

Aisling spins in her chair until she's too dizzy to continue, and contemplates the VR headset charging quietly on her bed. There's no reason to go back in, no reason to put herself at risk.

The headset blinks back, lights as red as the fever she fled.

Ash tells himself that he's just here to help the others prepare.

Every hand matters. There are people to spray, wounds to wrap, warnings to deliver, heads to count. There are too many people here for him to know them all, but he keeps an eye out for people he knows... or their absence.

There are more faces from the MIT than he's comfortable with seeing. He spots @Tristaria in particular, and resolves to find a chance to apologize to her later. As for the entity that is (or was) @Haru - well, he can't be blamed for avoiding him for now, right? He doesn't seem to be in his right mind.

@Harlow is missing - he hopes that means he logged out, but Ash recalls what the man said when they first met. For better or worse, he's not that kind of person.

He's not surprised to see @Hanno Futaba. Unlike him, Hanno has a reason to fight for this 'world' and its people. For better or worse, he feels like it's worth fighting for. Worth dying for. Ash does his best to avoid catching his eye, out of some sense of... guilt? Envy? Who knows.

He doesn't have that sort of determination, after all. Maybe before, when this was all just a game to play, but now? There's just too much at stake. So instead, he'll help in other ways. He'll prepare as many as he can for the trials ahead. He'll try to convince people to log ou, rather than join the column marching towards their death in pursuit of pointless glory. He tries to instill in that one simple truth - that this world isn't dying for.

(And if there's a part of him that thinks otherwise, it can kindly shut up.)

After that solemn lunch with @Ru Ning, Bradwynne found himself both physically and mentally drained, as he heard of the unfortunate fate of the Explorers, Kamala amongst them. His shoulders that were supposed to be fully healed started to throb again, reminding him of the fact that all of the pain that he felt would not be worth it until he had ensured the safety of all of the people in this expedition. Although the fear of a permanent death started to dawn on him as he made his current decision, he thought that it would be worth the risk, and he would never regret this, like when he had regretted not aiding Corvella or Ivan on their journeys that led to their deaths.

As he then looked around again, he never saw that fiery red hair again amongst the group that will participate in the rescue. Honestly, he would not blame him, he was on his last legs like he was, and it was also prudent for him to leave as well. But he knew he could not. He still had a mission to do, and if he would leave now, the thoughts would just agonize him to the end.

But at least, @Hanno Futaba was still there, and he seemed to have some good company. To relieve his mood, maybe he would just pay a prank on him, as they always did to each other. As Hanno was still busy talking to that group on people, he then would swoop in, crying as if he was a proud parent or something. "I am really glad that my boy had really grown into a very dependable and respectable man. I am really proud of you my son."

"Moisturize me!" Alpha rubbed the mist onto her pores. Her arms, scalp, and tongue were shimmering and, if Alpha was translucent like a jellyfish, she would assume that her internal organs would be positively glowing as well. Sometimes, you just gotta treat yourself.

A reward for a job well done, and now Alpha was outta here---golems, sure. Slimes, okay. Demons, probably. But bugs? That was where Alpha drew the line. Look, she got killed once by an evil spider lady, and then she had to face some sort of spider bug dragon, and now this? Flying maybe-spiders? Yeah, no.

Alpha packed up her bags, shoving her rolls of toilet paper into her fanny pack, the plies hanging loose from the side, swaying with the wind. Plus, all the talk about immunizations? Wow. Everyone knew vaccines caused dissonance. If red fever was real, then the Earth was round!

Alpha stopped. Demon. A demon corpse. "Demon, demon, lemon . . . Lemon!"

Eyes wide, Alpha twisted her head. She had survived; she lived off the land, beasts, and occasional people over the past few years. But still, she had never tried demon before. A roasted demon with a garnish of lemon and side of slime pudding. That extra side of mortal sin would definitely add a little spice and zest, wouldn't it? And would the meat be perfectly sous vide by hellfire? No one would notice if a demon arm or leg would be missing here or there.

Not to mention that demons were magical. From what Alpha knew from bible camp, they granted wishes! She pondered for a moment on the possibility of a demon's corpse being her fairy goddemon. The potential was limitless! What if everyone was made of chocolate? What if she could become a fairy?! Or, just maybe, the rest of the world could become fairies, and then Alpha could squash them all under her steel-toed boots and conquer the sea and isles! Alphaland is what it would be called, and Alpha would have fireworks, hotdogs, and the marvelous Danny Devito starring as Roland Rudolf Rutledge.

On one foot, Alpha pivoted back to the crowds.

"Heyoooo! The QUEEN is HERE!"

One of the first figures Toko had spotted among the crowd, once the Serenity Mist had been applied, had been the massive and familiar frame of @Alonso Thorlion. She had called out to him before approaching, happy to see her sensei was well, before she continued on as Toko looked for more of her friends. It was then @Brutus Dahlgren had called out to her and, after hearing of his plan, the Lepus had grinned widely before nodding in response—of course he could count on her for this final showdown.

"Oh, Madison..."

She hadn't expected the human to approach her during this rest, eyeing the gunslinger wearily as @Madison Freebird greeted Toko. The apology was certainly not something Toko had expected, but after the initial shock had faded Toko let out a chuckle before a hand reached out to pat the shoulder of the woman.

"Iie, I punched your tit too—so we're basically even." A nod was given when Madison floated the idea of some after-raid drinks. "You bet, we can celebrate with some strawberry whiskey once this is all over and done."

A final wave was given as they parted, the Lepus continuing to scan the crowd of Travelers and Landers as she looked for @Frey Elzeiros and @Sol without success. "Where are they...?" Any messages to them had also gone unresponded, a growing worry settling in the pit of her stomach, before a familiar pair of ears belonging to @Ru Ning caught Toko's attention.

"Ru-nii!"

With that Toko headed off in the direction the gaunt Lepus had disappeared to, hoping that her friend maybe had some clue as to where the Faerin and Beastfolk were at in the camp.

To be honest, he was just happy to have his emotions back in working order. But despite his victory alongside MIT, the expedition party had little time to actually celebrate. He never would have guessed all of this was happening due to the corpse of some demon.

Sitting over on a chair-sized toadstool, Creature was taking a moment to catch his breath before gearing up. The man’s eyes tiredly drifted across the camp as the others made their final preparations. A smirk painted his face as some people elected to log out instead. This was really it; his first major battle. Yet, where fear should have been there swelled something else: Excitement. They say fortune favored the bold, and this was a chance for him to actually leave his mark on this world. Creature would not pass it up.

“Let’s get this over with.” He’d mumble while attaching an opaque round shield to his back and heading off to join the raid team.

After an embarrassing episode for both Sylpha and several other people working with the MIT, a cure was created. All that was left to do was to distribute it to the masses.

In a world where majority of technology belonged to a medieval fantasy, imagine the elf's surprise when several vending machines were busted out and loaded up with vials of the cure. Intrigued, Sylpha volunteered to keep them running, which she easily learned after a quick briefing and analyzing the machine itself a bit with her knowledge of magitech.

Those who approached a particular machine might find the blue haired elf greeting them if they didn't look too impatient about getting a cure to the mysterious illness bearing down on them.

As soon as she was done with all that, Sylpha went back to the camp and logged out with others who chose to do so. Whatever happened next was no longer any of her responsibility.

Alastair rested his back against one of the wagons, watching the groups pool back into one unified force. Well, unified wasn't quite right. The dissatisfied conversations of various players mirrored the discordant argument of the game's characters. Some had rather scalding things to say about the captured individuals, and in the same breath talked poorly of the woman who would leave them to the same fate their audience agreed they deserved. Not because they deserved it, but because others shouldn't join them. It felt childish at first and then crushing on its heels. The concoction the MIT had made was effective, and slowly his unnatural swings between sorrow and terror faded.

The disappointment remained. So many of these people had the same limited views of someone reading about a tragedy on paper. Quick to place blame for lack of preparation on a governing body or the people at large due to some misunderstanding of culture or economy. Then nattered on about the heroics of saving them. Their only real worth to some of these people was just that.

A source of a savior complex. Someone downed to kick for a feeling of superiority when their back was turned, but quick to reach out to haul them to their feet and dust them off. As if they'd not ground their faces into it. Ah, but that might have been unfair of him. Old experiences in his line of work talking. To them, this was just a game. The threat just a rumor or gag.

He took a steadying breath and pushed away from the wooden wall of the wagon, pulling a waterskin from the supply in the back, as well as a bolt of cloth fit for wounds. The claims of others raring to save friends finally reached him, and the mage couldn't help the wry smile. He should have greater faith in them all.

"Are you alright, madame?" Alastair offered a length from the bolt to the pale-haired @Ilusa Nakhalee. "Alas, we haven't the energy to waste with spellwork, but you should cover those up. Douse the bandages too, and they'll be a minor blessing."

He bowed for a moment, a sweeping gesture calculated to be perfect even surrounded by chaos. "I saw some of your support work before with the caravan and I must say I'm impressed. I hope you will have our backs. Our thanks for your industriousness." In short order, however, he was off. There were others that needed bolstering, and he was easy with praise.

@Azykia

Celestine continued to mope, staring up at the stars and wondering what the point of life was as she was slowly dragged across the ground on a comfy arcanapillow. Sadly, the stars were so beautiful…

Spritz~

She felt the effects wear off quickly, shaking her head clear as the Serenity Mist worked its magic. That felt a lot better! "Whew," Cel sighed in relief, hoping to exhale all the sadness away. It was only then that really really came to terms with something rather awful.

"Azzy! What are you doing here!?" She exclaimed, flicking the much younger girl on the forehead. "It is the dangerous! You should do the going back to the safeties!"

@mina*

As time went on and she continued to regain her senses, Celestine recognized one thing: she kinda liked all these adventurers! They had style, individuality, and more importantly of all: money! She liked money. It felt like a good fit.

After asking around, it looked like someone named ‘Cessia’ was the person to ask, but she had no idea who that was, or what she even looked like, honestly. In the end, she went with someone familiar and poked Caccu on the shoulder.

"Psst, how do I do this faction a join exactly?" she asked. "Do I just be going around with the saying I am an Adventurer, or…?"

The Serenity Mist felt like a bucket of ice cold water had been upended above Mizuki's head. All the emotional highs she'd been experiencing out in the swamp now felt like she'd been behaving like a fool. The same went for everyone else, of course, so Mizuki didn't waste too much time feeling embarrassed about it. There were much more important things going on.

While the Adventurers had been retrieving ingredients, the MIT had been producing the elixir that would save them from the disease, and the Lions kept the camp safe from psychic apes (whatever that was about), the Explorers had apparently found the source of all the troubles... at the cost of their lives. Some of them, anyway. Mizuki watched as the man with the sword through his face explained the situation and then had a falling out with Childress. Well, that was the concern of the League.

But now they knew what they had to do, and it looked like the final objective of this expedition had been laid out. No more time to be cautious: they'd either eliminate the threat or none of them would get out of this jungle alive.

Mizuki walked through the camp, her wolves back at her sides. Everyone else was busy preparing themselves for the battle ahead: Mizuki spotted @Cleo Looker finding comfort with someone Mizuki had never met before, so the huntress would leave her friend to it and instead seek out someone who she thought would make a good battle partner for what was to come. She also saw @Zelrius together with @Ilya, but the two of them looked like they needed their time together.

No, Mizuki kept walking until she came across @Alonso Thorlion, who was accompanied by @Seto Kurama and @Pollux. The female caenis approached the group with a hand raised, her wolves sitting down as she came to a halt about a meter or so in front of the big man who had been sought out by several others as well.

Greetings. It looks like we'll be heading for the climax of this expedition, so if you guys don't mind I'd like to group up with you. Better to stick together and watch each other's backs, and if any of you have friends who were with the Explorers I'll help save them as well.

Come to think of it, hadn't @Kamala Graham been with the Explorers? Mizuki hoped that the cheerful caenis was still alive. She had a bad feeling about this...

Emotions had run rampart, but only now at the camp did anyone got a clear idea of what had happened. No it wasn't the battle drive that had her spiraling at their first true combat experience with a whole-ass temple, but the mysterious red fever status they all dreaded at the start and ignored as time went on.

SPLZZH Did the supposed medicine go against her face, which had her close her eyes in response and groan with visible disgust. She had a warning before-hand from @Essence, the kind nerdy witch that she met earlier before they all split into groups. "Okay okay I think I'm Immune now. Keep spraying me and the Red Fever's gonna need a cure for me." She teased, emerald gaze tracing up and down to make sure Essence didn't have any visible bruises, compared to herself and the slime bath she had earlier on the swamp, but figured that keeping up the tough girl act would work to dissuade any worries, focusing instead on stealing that Mist spray to hit Essence back with a taste of her own medicine (literally since she was one of the MIT brains that helped synthesize it!)

"Ain't looking so great now, ain't ya Hanno?" She made her approach and presence known to @Hanno Futaba , loud mouthed as she could be, a hand pushing away a few golden locks off her face. Her own messy looks didn't help to make her point sting any better. Neither of them could make it without having to lick their wounds back at the camp apparently. "Don't miss out, can ya'? I would hate to hoard all the glory."

She had an option to join along the rest of the team the adventurer's guild came up with, or at least she figured they could all use more familiar shoulders when heading into battle, but instead she made her approach to @Zelrius to give him one sisterly punch to his shoulder, blunt yet appreciative. "Watch your back, eh?" She dropped the comment with a sly smile, a hand gestured back at @Brutus Dahlgren and finally at @Toko Once they were both on her line of sight. "Well with a group like that there is nothing to worry about on the frontlines. I sure don't want to miss big guy flying straight into a corpse with his cannon." Yet she kept it short and sweet before wandering off, as her priority lied elsewhere

"Where the fuck is the booze, I'm getting high before this show starts"

It was finally over? Or it appeared to be somewhat at a peaceful lull. The temple guardian golem thing had been vanquished and they had gathered enough materials for the other guilds to do their thing. And FINALLY he could return back to the neutral mode of emotions that he was used to. The constant boomeranging was draining and he was glad for the rest and respite that the spray made by the M.I.T gave. Gathering his things and cleaning himself up at camp he went around to find the others to see their plans. Did they intend to continue or fall back? Stopping first by the familiar faces of @Kyoko @Mio Ban and @Zelrius since they were the closest and had all been fighting with the insanity earlier. Each was given a greeting and asked how they were and if they needed help with anything. And if anything? He was glad that @Juniper hadn't tagged along. They only had so many lives and somehow she was worse than him when it came to fighting. His own ever doubtful opinion of his own abilities weighed on his mind. Had he done much to help, he wondered?

The last he sought out was @Trissayne Lavelle who he had seen earlier. Though they had been separated when the guilds all went their own ways to do their own thing. "Where'd you head to? Which guild and how'd it go? Hope you were able to stay safe?"
