At least Lily didn't have to feel insane for thinking that what sounded like futuristic machinery wasn't exactly in the line with everything else this world was presenting. Vina clearly did not mind in the end, but it was still strange. Though... the girl did remember how some games would often create a certain sense of duality, a fantastical setting where the protagonist would discover ancient ruins of a civilisation far more advanced. Perhaps it was that sort of thing that they were going on? Well, she had a different question after hearing about all of this.

So if they weren't around when you started, does that mean that there really is some sort of hidden team of developers who are still patching the game and adding new stuff to it?

It was frankly hard to imagine. She had always figured that someone simply made the game, and it remained in a 'stasis' after it became outlawed in most of the world. But that was clearly not the case if things were the way Vina described them to be.

Also, if you say that the wilderness is super dangerous, are people really jumping into random portals to discover where they lead..?
