Redchron has never been on Ayna's radar. When she started playing the game, she was first drawn to Lyrwick as her personal base of sorts before she decided to move to Dunnstads, and more appropriately Ilmea's Lament, shortly after finishing construction on her ship with help from Tetsunosuke's input. She's heard about the hilly region, though, with its colorful climate and rocky terrain. Her current employer wouldn't even shut up about it being a Mecca of the archeological world, which is a pretty impressive thing to note if only their current employer wasn't such a bore. Thankfully for Ayna, the former excavation haven turned criminal refuge had plenty of beauty and intrigue of its own to endear itself to her, though the fact that the Ynglar Brotherhood was around and also that bit about the criminals didn't inspire her to relocate to the area. That's a good thing. For the Brotherhood and the criminals.
"So, you just want us to keep you company while you're sightseeing?"
The magia looked around them, where they were now, finding too many caves and sand. It wasn't a pretty sight, less pretty than what they'd seen so far, and a part of her was disappointed that they ended up on this side of the region when there were clearly better places to be. Ayna didn't feel any need to hide her disappointment as she crossed her arms and continued looking everywhere but at their employer, which only made their employer, Jonas Indie, heave a sigh of disappointment as well.
"No, I'm not just sightseeing, but yes, I want you two to keep me company just in case the Brotherhood gets on my case again. Or worse: Some smelly, stinky bandit tries to mug me again."
Again? The small man was hyper-focused on whatever he was trying to find. Ayna found him a little foolish, like an obsessive moth drawn only to his fiery obsession. He reminded her a lot of those people she once worked with at MIT before she jumped ship to the Adventurers Guild, most have made science or whatever field they were obsessed with as their only identity.
"I'm actually here to take measurements, readings, of... It should be here somewhere."
It was Ayna's turn to let out a sigh of disappointment. Well, another one. So he's not even sure where whatever he's looking for is? She almost regretted taking the job, turning to her other companion, @Kamala Graham, with an apologetic look. Ayna had dragged her friend into this...whatever this is, a fruitless search for some strange museum supposedly buried beneath the shifting grains of sand? What kind of museum would even be buried in this place? A cursed one, probably, something that was buried for a reason, something that no one, especially not this Jonas Indie, should be unearthing. If she's learned anything from staying at Lyrwick for a few months, it's that some things are better left unearthed.
"Take your time. We get paid by the hour."
Ayna smirked as Jonas struggled with his handheld device, a tracker of sorts, supposedly of bloodstone, which seemed pretty useless to her, considering the vastness of this place and how many scattered bloodstones there could be buried underneath all the sand and earth. She stole a glimpse of the many caves nearby, wondering if those would be a better place to start looking for an entrance down into the depths of the earth but chased those thoughts away. Again, some things are better left unearthed. Besides, she wasn't in a rush to go home, to leave. They were absolutely being paid by the hour.
"You good, Kamala?"
Ayna walked closer to her friend while still keeping an eye on Jonas, their current cash cow. If something happened to him, they'd lose all that money. Nevermind the credibility of the Adventurers Guild. That's not nearly as important as their just rewards. The Mizar needed new parts. Better parts. And Jonas Indie, despite his boring outlook in life, his weird obsession with earth and sand that reminded her of another annoying man, would finance all that for her.
