The Main Chamber, Strange Cave, Redchron

For what felt like eternity, the pair just stayed there, just stayed like that, their foreheads touching, their eyes closed, both relishing this intimate respite from all the fighting they have had to endure since they began playing. It was the most they had shared in the game.

"Uhh, you guys all right?" Jonas Indie's voice interrupted their mutual reverie, making Kamala chuckle. Slowly, she moved her head away from @Ayna Nietzsche, an almost apologetic smile on her face. When she turned her gaze toward their employer, she was pleasantly surprised when she saw the Naga with him, all calm and looking concerned at the pair. "I got what I need. It's time for us to go."

"Time to go, Ayna. Can you walk?"

"The Guardian knows a quicker, safer way out, wouldn't you know," Jonas chuckled to himself as well, as he turned his back to them and began to walk toward the direction the Naga was slithering toward. There was an opening toward the left of the Main Chamber. It wasn't a short walk but the pair could see the length of the way.

Kamala helped the magia to her feet before leading her to where Jonas and the Naga were. The elf took her time in thanking the Guardian, who was kinder this time around, before joining her party to leave the place safely. Would they come back? Could they come back? Only time could ever tell. Kamala wasn't thinking about it now. She was more focused on getting her team to safety. They could think about that later, especially Jonas, once they were back in civilization.

The Main Chamber → Redford, Redchron

At the sound of Jonas Indie's stupid voice, Ayna immediately bolted up, forcing herself rather quickly off the ground. With a scowl on her face, she addressed their employer albeit she was a little surprised to see the Naga seemingly getting along with the intrepid explorer.

"Lead the way then, Jonas."

There was hostility in Ayna's voice, though it was mostly because she was embarrassed to have been seen by strangers at her most vulnerable. Jonas and the Naga shared a glance before shrugging and walking toward the aforementioned exit. As soon as they released her from their attention, Ayna crumbled back to the ground, helped up by the ever-helpful @Kamala Graham, at whom she couldn't help but smile.

"...I can, but thank you. Can't say no to a helping hand."

With Kamala's assistance, Ayna made her way out of that place. She stole a glimpse of the Naga as Jonas waved at the guardian, wondering if it would be all right. Remembering how it basically kicked all their butts, the magia grinned, realizing the guardian would not be easy pickings for everyone else. Naga's too OP to get beat by newbs. They'll be fine.

Soon, they were back in Redford, in Jonas Indie's office, having taken their payment. Ayna took her time resting, charging, and with the assistance of the explorer and his contacts, she was able to replenish herself back to her full potential.

The magia just sat there haphazardly on one of his office couches, barely listening to him excitedly drone on about what they had accomplished in the Abscess, disinterested by his obsession with the past. To Ayna, the future was where it's at, and when she stole a glimpse at Kamala, she knew right then and there that the future would be all right.

Once they were back in civilization, Kamala felt bittersweet relief. On one hand, she was no longer feeling the pang of unease that she had been feeling while they were exploring the ruins of a past civilization. On the other? It meant that she now had to go back to Pormont, where both travelers and landers needed her, far away from @Ayna Nietzsche, who had her own ship and crew in Dunnstads to worry about.

"We've made history, ladies!" Jonas Indie's voice was booming throughout his office, his excitement clear and could not be contained. He was like a child again, a child who had won an unlimited supply of their favorite candy. "All my years of research... Finally, I've gotten the breakthrough I so desperately needed!" Kamala herself could not help but cheer for him, make tiny claps with her tiny hands, to celebrate his and their victory.

"Congratulations, Jonas! I had fun with the expedition! Hope everything goes well for you and your research!"

"And it will! The Guardian has allowed me to return when needed, though I'm sure there won't be such a need anymore," Jonas' eyes were wide in excitement as he went on and on about how much knowledge he was able to gain from their dangerous expedition. He was so involved in his own words that he didn't notice Kamala shift her attention from him to Ayna. When would be the next time they'd take on such adventures together? The elf hoped it wouldn't be long before that, though something inside her feared the worst.

It's all right! As long as we're together, nothing can bring us down! Nothing can even break us apart! Famous last thoughts?

Redford, Redchron

Hours after @Ayna Nietzsche and @Kamala Graham had left the premises, Jonas Indie was left alone in his office, poring through his scrolls of newly gathered knowledge, still writing everything down, still double checking every word, every sentence, every paragraph to make sure he had not miss anything. But he has, and the thing that he's missed?

Knock! Knock!

Jonas Indie didn't even look toward the door, not wanting his madness to be interrupted. Instead, he called out for whoever it was to leave him be as he was very busy. "Come back tomorrow! I'm very busy!"

The knocking stopped, and for a few seconds more, everything was quiet. Everything except for Jonas' muttering of every word, every sentence, every paragraph he was reading. He was so engrossed in his task at hand, he didn't even hear the knob turn, the door swing open, the footsteps grow closer. Until it was too late.

"Professor," a knight in dusty armor stood before him, towering."Apologies for not having come sooner. There was...another matter I had to attend to. I heard the expedition with the girls went well?"

Ammon Ket has arrived.

END...OF CAMEO!
Thanks for letting me do this, moms, but it has been months, so I don't even remember what I wanted to do with this lmao
