Unfolding the Unknown
Cycle 1 - At Hell's Gate
Location: ██░░▓▓▓▒▒▓▓▒ Kingdom's Castle Throne Room
Time & Weather: ??? and Infernal

It was time.

The Kingdom and the Queen could wait no longer. Their beloved Princess was in dire danger and there was very little they could do to comfort her. Even through telepathic magic, the girl could only sob and cry uncontrollably, in await for her beloved heroes to rescue her, but in fear for what the nefarious fiend that had locked her was going to do to her.

The heroes crossed the bridge, that hanged above a boiling lava lake, a certain death... But a certain death they cared not for, after all, the one they truly cared was for the Princess they had to save, and the Komodo Dragon they had to slay.

A warm welcoming awaited for them as soon as they decided to step into the castle, being showered by scorching lava, thrown from buckets, and fiery bolts that flied from everywhere. The responsibles? The horrifying Komolds, reptilian demons that were armed with sabers and crossbows, that cackled devilishly at the heroes, attempting to drain their morale, with pain, burns and mockery.

(A Komold Illustration)

They had to face these obstacles, but it wouldn't take long for them to find themselves in the Throne Room, that was engulfed by fire, and a heavy aura that clenched the chests and hearts of the heroes.

Something, a giant shadow then cloaked their eyes and vision, forcing them to look up, only to see a powerful titan, the fury of all gods, the trembling horror. A true, natural disaster of its own. They flying giant firebreathing Komodo Dragon, weighting [REDACTED] tons of pounds, wielding its fiery glare, its slit tongue that followed its hisses and growls, that rumbled the whole room.

Its head lowered, and a sensation of seeing and feeling something you hated crawled into your skin, heart and soul. That thing emanated everything you hated and feared with passion. Things that had been trying to destroy your resolve for months, years... And perhaps, it had been successful at it, if you weren't as strong headed as these terrible sins that were now attempting to haunt your mind, thanks to the beast's supernatural presence.

(Illustration of Komo-kun, the flying giant firebreathing Komodo Dragon)

Its presence momentarily staggers you. Can you truly defeat this thing? It is gigantic, it is powerful, it is unlike anything you have seen before. Almost as if the divine were hiding it in shame of this terrifying creation, or perhaps, they were just too proud and didn't want it to meddle with pitiful mortals such as you.

Perhaps it was time to run away, but-

"HELP!"

?!

That voice! Of course, the one you wished to save and protect!

As you looked up, you could barely see her. The sillhouette of a cage, and the chained young girl inside of it. You couldn't see her face, but her voice, faltering in pain and fear, but also with a hint of hope, now that you were here... It filled you with determination. You couldn't just leave her there, you had to fight the thing off and save her.

4bImJjU.png

(The Princess, in a desperate call of help)

The fight wasn't going to be easy... However, you spotted a hope of your own. The fiend had with it, the almighty Axecalibur- Of course, it was in the Throne Room, but the creature, unworth of such honor, couldn't draw it from the ground.

Perhaps, it was the time for you to show it how heroes and honor work.

CYCLE 1 - AT HELL'S GATE

Upon entering the Kingdom's Castle, you have three options to try to venture toward the Throne Room:
  1. Sneak through the corners and back of the castle. This makes you get into the combat late, but at least, at most you find one or another Komold minion that causes you trouble. Receives 10 flat damage and start the Cycle in a Gray area.

  2. Sneak through the front, using the frontline as distraction and using statues and rubbles as hiding spots. You encounter more Komold minions than expected, and that is troublesome, but you get there almost in time. Receives 20 flat damage and start the Cycle in a Yellow area.

  3. Fuck it, run for it, go go go! You go through the entrance blatantly, receiving a 'warm' welcome of cauldrons of lava being tossed on your head, and ferocious Komolds that dislikes you. Receives 40 flat damage and start the Cycle in a Green area.

az9KDgC.jpg

Red Zone (Aura of Fear) - It is the zone that is the Komo-kun's Aura of Fear. When you try to move from an Aura of Fear Zone to any other Zone, you use the double of your Movement.

Minions (Komolds) - For every Komold in a Zone you start on, or step into the first time, you lose 1 Movement and receive 10 flat damage. These negative impacts aren't affected by effects like Maneuver or Hover. You may destroy a Komold by dealing 50 damage to it in a single Turn (not Cycle, turn), using any type of damage. If you can't destroy it right away, it quickly recovers before your ally is even able to keep up. They can't be taunted, and their Condition DC is 50.

Legendary Artifact (Axecalibur) - An axe that brims with almighty power. You must be in its zone to pick it up with an Action. High above it, about 10 meters high attached to the ceiling, the Princess is hanging, chained in a cage.

PASSIVES

Gift of Omniscience: Metagaming - It knows every stat and every action from every hero. It can cause intermissions as it desires, but every time it does, the heroes receive 2 movement bonus.

Gift of Omnipresence: Rapid Firing - Its base Speed is 6, and it can attack from any range. Without it, its Speed is 3 and it can attack anywhere adjacent to its Aura of Fear.

Gift of Omnipotence: Godmodding - Once per Cycle, it can choose one target that has succeeded in a Save, and force it to fail. If no one succeeds on any Save, it can choose one target to receive the double of the negative effects.

Lesser Divine Protection: Strawman - When attacking it, check the natural dice roll. If the result is Odd, the effects and damage are halved.

Greater Divine Protection: Plot Armor - Immune to Major Conditions, Resistent to Mid Conditions. It cures 1d6 Condition Stacks at the end of the Damage Phase.

RACIAL TRAITS

Oversized - It is physically large enough to take up multiple zone. All attacks made against this enemy can target the zone it is occupying and the zone its 'Aura of Fear' reaches.

Everpiercing Claws - Attacks with its claws deal Flat Damage.

Aura of Fear - Every zone that its aura touches is considered a Difficult Terrain.

Deus Ex Machina - At the right time, it will happen.

SP Disruption - For every 400 SP damage received, it loses one Passive. At the start of the Damage Phase, Komo-kun may choose which Passives it lost.

ACTIONS

It rumbles, erupting its fearful aura and enhancing the strengths of the Komolds. During Cycle 1, the Komolds are under Protected status, receiving half of all damage directed to them.

At this point Glamora Dark had well and truly given up on life. And yet, Glamora Dark never gave up hope.
In her darkest of glamorous heart there was what could only be described as a rueful spark.
And, it was this spark that was the source of her awful power.
For Glamora Dark was never a witch without options, there was, is, and has always been the one:
That Glamora Dark doubles down.
Though she may at times call herself "The Bottle Witch" truer still would be the title The World gave her:
"The Witch of Sunk Cost Fallacy".
For when you are Glamora Dark it is never too late to escape reality and dance among your dreams...

Bottles! Today, already, you have shown me my genius in creating you. You have fought, (and surprisingly) none of you have died! We have braved the komolds and their awful, awful, aim to which some might say 'well doesn't that mean it was easy?' and to which I would reply 'Perhaps! If you were not as hopelessly weak as a bottle soldier!' That's right! You are weak! Hopelessly weak! And painfully useless besides, because I have skimped every possible cent in making you! And why? So that none of you may ever rise up against me!

And yet, my wonderful bottle soldiers! WE HAVE ARRIVED! Weakness has arrived and before us, just a little further still, lies our destination!

It is the weak that shall inherit the earth and in your conquering you shall prove my greatness!

For if the weakest of The Great Glamora Dark's creations conquers the strong, then it can only mean one thing!

That the strong are totally beneath me!

Today, my bottle soldiers you have but one fear!

If you die, you will be remade endlessly, so long as I remain!

But if I die, you are well and truly screwed!

And so I say! Fight! Fight you cowards! Fight like my life depends on it!

Because it does! And if you truly value your own, then you must afford it nothing!

BOTTLE BATTALION FORM RANKS!

VICTORY OR LIFE!

A hearty laugh escapes as Toko listens to the tail end of @Glamora Dark ‘s motivational speech, small pops echoing in the air as the hare stretches her muscles and cracks her joints in preparation for the battle to come. "Junbi?" The back of her hand taps the upper arm of @Harper to get her attention, a grin on Toko’s face before she nods in the direction of Glam’s little platoon as they begin to march out.

"Oi, Majo-chan!" Her legs quickly catch up with the small glass army and their Sunken Cost Fallacy commander, giving Glam a toothy smile before she points towards the little troupers. "Mind if I give some of your buds here a lift? Got a special mission that needs ‘em~"

It doesn’t take long before the lepus is rushing off again, a sharp left veering her path away from a pair of komolds before she crouches down low to the ground in preparation. "Hold on tight, lil’ guys!" It's the only warning the four bottle soldiers clinging onto the hare will receive, before the muscles in her legs vault the hare and the small soldiers high into the air—their bodies clinging as they clash with one another while holding on for dear life.

"Yooo!" The casual greeting is a sharp contrast to the mayhem her landing has just caused, the dust around the brawler clearing to reveal a decently sized crater around the beastfolk that waves towards the komolds around her—undoubtedly startled to see a section of their castle’s floor disrupted in a matter of seconds. "Ikimashoo!"

Fists bump together and a layer of bark quickly wraps around her hands and forearms, a cluster of rocks and faint crystals adhered tightly to the surface before jutting outwards—a crude, and deadly, natural creation inspired by the tekkō-kagi from her homeland. A similar covering also appears around the shins of her legs and insteps of her feet, meant to both protect the hare while also packing extra damage on each hit.

The brandished weapons in her direction is a clear sign that Toko has captured the attention of the four individuals, unaware that the little soldiers once clinging to her shoulders are now long gone as they hiss in her direction. "Now!!!" The ambush is successful as each little bottle soldier suddenly sprung out of the back of a komold, grabbing on tightly to whatever reptilian part of their faces they can get a hold of and startling the opponent.

Palms slam hard against the floor’s surface, using the bought time to quickly spread her control far and wide as the hair connects with the soil and bends it to her will. A faint golden aura radiates from her frame, the dormant power within her slowly awakening, before a predatory grin spreads her lips wide as she stares down her prey. It’s the classic ‘wrong time, wrong place’ for these poor komolds, unfortunate as they are to cross paths with a hare that failed her promotion exam this very morning again.

"Nothing personal, but you’re all in our way… so scram!" The ground shakes and rumbles as it bends and shifts under her command, before sharp stony spikes erupt under each komold. They pierce armor and flesh without regard, easily skewering the four reptilians in her radius, though their anti-climatic fall only seems to irk the fighter further… until a bigger target catches Toko’s attention.

She quickly directs the leftover energy, and her pent up frustration, towards the star of the show massive komodo dragon. The hard floor under one of its feet is soon converted into quicksand, and as his digits sink down astral chains quickly wrap themselves tightly against the limb. They bind and squeeze against the flesh and scales, glowing with the same energy as the hare as the spirit within Toko begins to leech off the energy of their opponent.

Toko's highly energetic like always, already dashing off to the left side of the throne room at an incredible speed. The ground rumbled, and the four komolds surrounding her quickly fell victim to the massive earth spikes the second time Lune blinked.

"Remind me to not get on her bad side." She joked with the others, before preparing to follow behind Glam's copyright-free pikmin. "I should get started too." Focusing on the dead komolds, the woman extended her left hand, absorbing what was left of the corpses before they went to waste. "Mediocre, but it'll do." She reacted to the new energy flowing through her body.

Jumping into the fray and joining the others, the red-haired woman went to the right side, charging a graviton blast on her right hand, and released it towards the big Komodo, who didn't budge at all, but the backblast instantly destroyed the two komolds behind her. "The skin is too thick."

She won't be able to deal meaningful damage for now. So instead she redirected the gravity power to surround Harper with a spherical field to hopefully repel incoming attacks.

She turned toward the cheesy weapon far in the back of the room. Perhaps?

Maybe jumping into every portal we see isn't such a good idea... even if some of them lead to a tropical paradise~

Being late to the party, Vina hurried to join the other heroes who'd already gone ahead to help save the princess and the kingdom from a horrible monster. Alongside her was her close friend @Fina Drago, who she'd be dragging along by the arm if necessary. The druidic vixen hadn't exactly been planning to spend the day fighting a dragon (or a close approximation of one), but when fate came knocking she wasn't one to turn down the call. She didn't think that Fina needed much convincing either: the feline might sometimes call herself a coward, but Vina had never known her to not take the lead when it came to heroics.

The monster that occupied the evil-looking throne room certainly looked a lot like a dragon... although it was also obviously an oversized komodo dragon. Vina's ears twitched as she heard the cries from the princess from behind the beast, frowning now that the matter was becoming more serious. She raised her voice to the others who had arrived before them.

Sorry if we're late!

They didn't exactly have the luxury for a prolonged chat, so rather than wasting more time on pointless words Vina planted the tip of her staff on the stone tiles that adorned both the hallway and the large room beyond. Reaching inside herself Vina pulled forth her connection to the Emerald Green, allowing the essence of that most verdant realm to flow outwards and down her staff, into her surroundings. From between the tiles first blades of grass sprouted, but then the tiles themselves cracked as a surge of nature magic caused the wilds to reclaim Vina's immediate surroundings. Ivy climbed the closest wall and pillar, with slender vines carrying various vibrant flowers into the air. Along with the fast-growing plants came a fresh breeze and a sense of calm: even a big komodo dragon wasn't as scary when you had grass beneath your feet and the wind in your back.

I hope the owner won't mind if I spruce up the place. And as a hello to my dear friend Harper...~

Lifting her staff she pointed the head towards the lively tigress, more nature magic flowing forth as Vina gave her striped friend a smile and a wink. A faint green glow would settle on the martial artist along with an invigorating sensation.

Don't hold back, and give it to them hard~!

Vina's magic would help awaken Harper's inner beast, and it would also quickly mend Harper's wounds so even if she ended up striking hard enough to suffer backlash the pain would immediately be dulled and her body would be restored to a pristine condition.

Super Vulnerable, +95 buff from @Glamora Dark , Pending Protection from @Lune, -20 HP from starting in a yellow tile.

Hoo boy. This was... Different.

When Glamora told her they were going up against a Dragon, even if the witch herself didn't believe in them, Harper secretly wanted it to be true. Sure, it would make things a lot harder and deadlier for them if that was the case, but goddamn did she want to throw a Dragon around.

So when she stumbled upon the komolds on the way, she was initially a bit disappointed. Sure, one could call them dragons, but they are nothing she hadn't seen or thrown before. Maybe this was going to be a boring ride after all, the tigress somewhat tuning out as some attacks manage to graze her as she blasts through them.

Upon reaching the throne room, however, there were a lot of feelings in her head upon seeing that gargatuan figure standing in front of them.

Fear? There was a bit, for sure. That thing was massive, and as Glamora said there definitely was some kind of aura to it that put her at unease.

But it was very much drowned out by the sheer thrill running through her. Ohohoho, she was going to spin that thing around, collateral damage to the castle be damned. The beastkin couldn't help but lose herself slightly in the absolute ridiculous scenarios coming up in her head.

So when her allies took the jumpstart to go after the enemies, Harper was somewhat caught by surprise, cursing under her breath as she rushed to follow the others. @Vina Skysong 's arrival certainly helped with that, the wind blowing behind her back pushing her forward, though she definitely could've done without the honeyed words as well.

"Too busy being awesome to flirt right now, Vina! UOOOOOOH!"

She wasn't lying. Rushing towards the Komodo Dragon, she'd make her target its other leg. Usually lifting a leg this heavy would be a challenge, especially when the komodo was still putting its weight on it, even for her. But that's where technique comes into play. Instead of just trying to brute force it, she'd make use of @Toko 's attack having already made the beast's footing on the other uneven as she did her best to hug the dragon's leg as she drived it towards its other, compromised leg.

As soon as she felt the beast's balance shift and its weigh go more towards the leg sinking onto quicksand, she would finally lift it upwards, letting out a roar as she hauled the limb into the air before jumping after it and dropkicking it even further upwards, seeking to send the beast toppling onto Toko's direction.

Would Toko be bothered by the gargantuan beast falling on top of her? Maaaaaaaybe. At the very least, it would be polite to send a warning.

How did she even get here? She had not idea, what with everything moving at the speed of light once again. All she knew was that she allowed @Vina Skysong to drag her somewhere once again. It wasn't necessarily bad, but perhaps she should stop trusting that the vixen had the best sense of what was safe and what was not, given how much lava they seemed to be moving past.

By the time the duo arrived at the throne room, several others were already in their kickass modes, engaging the Kobolts and the... dragon..? Fina shook her head for a bit before looking at the druidess at her side. "Well, I guess I should join the others, huh..." Even though she sounded somewhat unsure of herself, her feet steadily carried her forward. Although her allies managed to dispatch any and all foes that were in range already. Was she even necessary here? They seemed to be doing just fine. In fact, they were doing far better than what she could do...

"Still so reckless, though..." Snapping her fingers, several tiny arcane blades manifested around the feline and swiftly moved to the nearest person, who just happened to be @Harper. They would circle the tiger girl, ready to lash out in retaliation against anyone or anything who'd try to bring her harm. It seemed like a good enough thing to do in preparation to engage the boss. But then again... "Do we really have to fight that thing? It actually looks really cute... maybe we can just pet it instead and it'll calm down?"

Cycle 2 - Fierce Komodo
Location: ██░░▓▓▓▒▒▓▓▒ Kingdom's Castle Throne Room
Time & Weather: ??? and Infernal

"KOMOOOOOOooooooooo...!!"

The Komold cried as they fell, succumbing upon the advances of the heroes that challenged this almighty ferocity that Komo-kun was. It was far from pleased, glaring maliciously at the puny invaders of its brand new territory.

It charged in, scowling and roaring as it prepared for a more direct battle, while the small Komolds that had remained leaped forward, trying to clash against the heroes.

The tiny one, @Glamora Dark and her infinite glassy minions, was quickly welcomed by a giant claw, that came swinging with pure brute force, trembling the Throne Room upon impact and throwing away bottles to every side while fragments of the stone floor were sent flying to every direction.

@Toko's rocks did throw the gigantic Komodo Dragon slightly off balance, and it was immediately retaliated with its second claw, that scratched the ceiling a second before it went down for a strike, once again rumbling the room while targetting the lepus Beastfolk, while it rotated its body to slam its tail against @Lune, that had just attacked its flank with a gravity blast that forced it to try and sink its 'feet' on the ground, only to be grabbed by @Harper and be tossed around, shaking the room even more, as if an earthquake was just about to happen.

The Princess, on the top of the ceiling, tried to hold on tight while her cage shook uncontrollably at the titanic fight that was happening before her, moments before the guttural voice of the Dragon could be heard, as it slowly had its wrath surfacing from his body.

"... Kommmmooooo.... Kommmooo..."

Rumbling, Komo-kun got back to its feet charged toward the tigress, opening its mouth widely, covered with bacterian coated fangs, and trying to chomp her down, while the temperature of the throne room increased further, and a whistling sound began escaping between the Dragon's scales, releasing sharp and dangerous steams that foretold something dire.

"E-EEEK! HOT HOT HOT!"

The princess panicked, trying to duck in her own cage as the steams neared her rattling cage, though part of those steams were also released to the lower grounds, with a burning gust harshly hitting @Fina Drago, with its ear piercing whistling ringing into her skull.

With a huff, the Dragon rose its head, casting a defiant and (literally) fiery glare at the heroes, and a squint at @Rael and @Vina Skysong, that were still on the back of the throne room.

CYCLE 2 - FIERCE KOMODO

Those that still have not entered the Castle:
  1. You may enter in any zone within rows 8, 9, and 10. But you receive 50 Flat Damage.

vsS3caz.jpg

ERRATA & PENDING

Glamdark and Vina both buffed Harper, and they can't stack. You must choose if you will keep Harper with both buffs (Vina's buff will start take effect after Glamdark's buff wears off).

Rael used buff, but tagged no one for it. Was it Lune? Yes, it was Lune.

Lune and Fina both protected Harper. Protect does not stack. Lune switched her protection to Fina.

Fina didn't took into account the flat damage from starting in a Yellow Tile. Her HP (Before the damage presented in this update) was of 180.

Things seemed to be going well for Glamora Dark until they weren't. Thankfully, she had a bit of forewarning that things were going to take a turn for the very considerable worse very very soon. What was that warning? The massive shadow that loomed over her and her bottle-talion's heads. That massive shadow, by the way, belonged to Komo-kun's rapidly approaching, equally-large, left claw.

Well, it was nice knowing everyone.

The claw rapidly came crashing down as Bottle-Warriors moved to make a tiny shieldwall and Bottle-Mages worked together to put up a magic barrier. It was mostly in vain, however, as Glamdark and all her troops went flying like the pieces of a flipped chessboard from the giant swipe of Komo-kun's kaiju claw.

Gack!

There had been a lot of surprises on the journey for Glamora Dark so far, but the most shocking surprise of all, was that she was still alive after all of that.

After spreading every which way, the remaining bottle-talion popped up and ran to form a protective formation around their fallen witch commander.

Amongst the crowd, a Bottle-Medic emerged to put a little star sticker on Glamora Dark's forehead, who was knocked out cold. Then, the Bottle-Medic slapped Glamdark across the cheek.

Ow!

Glamdark's eyes popped open.

Huh? I'm alive?! Wait! Oh no! Am I maybe not alive and in one of those weird Terrasphere hell-pits of darkness they always pull us into?! No?! Worse?! Oh right, it is worse... because I'm fighting a giant lizard...

*Looks around for anymore incoming claws*

*****
@Chanlye

It was around then that Glamora Dark started to think about her life and realized that something about this whole situation just didn't make sense to her money-maddened mind. Glammy knew her goals for this venture; she knew she wanted to make lots of money, buy out her creditors, and be really smug to as many people as she could...

...But what did the komolds want?

...Why were they doing this?

They'd never asked the Queen for anything (as far as Glamora knew).

...

Glamora Dark looks around. Then, she addresses the Komolds.

You know, you guys are really bad at this.

Hey, you don't have to say yes, but it won't hurt to listen, okay? I think we can both benefit here without all the pain and grief we're both suffering through.

*coughs up blood*

Directing her bottle-soldiers, they gather to hold up a magic chalkboard as Glamora Dark takes hold of a piece alchemical chalk and begins to write.

4Xhfn16.png

So, let's talk about operating costs and operating profits today. As we both know you have something very valuable, that's right, you have a princess. Hi princess. I know you're having a rough time but we'll either have you out in about 5 more rounds or you'll be thankful for the cage and better off than we are.

A princess is worth lots and lots of treasure. And when I say treasure, I mean *almost* anything you want. That's right, the princess is something very small, (just one person), but she can get you very BIG things.

But to get BIG things from the princess, you have to give her back and make sure they give you the BIG things that you want.

Just having a princess in a cage doesn't get you anything. She's just sitting there. Sure, if you're into it, you could maybe eat her or something, but why do that when you can trade her back and GET SO MUCH MORE!

This, my friendly komolds, is what we call a ransom, and today I am offering to help you get MANY. BIG. THINGS.

And, to get MANY. BIG. THINGS. alls that you have to do is stop fighting.

We here for princess. We get princess, we get reward. You have princess. You hold princess, you get nothing but sad times. Princess gets hungry. Princess needs attention. Princess cry all the time.

We make trade. We get princess and we get shinies. We share shinies with you. You get shinies. You no longer have to deal with princess. EVERYONE WIN.

So, all that you have to do is stop fighting. Go home to komhouse. Take a vacation. Leave me your address! And I will share my treasure with you! We be business partner! We be "synergy"!

Cycle 2 - Intermission | Negotiation Creative Action

@Glamora Dark with the sudden (and unexpected) presentation of an alternative and negotiation in the middle of a hellish battlefield caught the attention of the small Komolds, while Komo-kun was too busy trying to kill everyone else, while being attacked itself.

"S-Small?! I-I am not small! I'm... I'm still in my growing phase, okay?! Besides, of course I am crying all the time, do you know how long I have been here?! No nice bed stories... No more food... Chained here... AND DON'T GIVE THEM THE IDEA OF EATING ME!"

The Princess protested, but the Komolds locked their attention on the explanation, until one of them roared!

"Komo... Komo komo? Komo? KOMO! Komo... Komo Komo! KOMO!"
(What... do you think we are? Traitors? We aren't! Honestly... We have standards! WE WILL KEEP FIGHTING FOR KOMO-KUN!)

It protested, angry that the tiny witch would dare to question their loyalty.

"Kapitalismo, ho!"

The rest seemed to agree with Glamora's words, to the surprise of both the princess and the loyal Komold.

"?!?!"

"... I am very grateful for your help, but all the arguments to use me as ransom hurts a little..."

The Komolds are disabled for 2 Cycles.

The lizard certainly didn't appreciate being pulled down, and quickly spun to sweep its tail toward the red-haired woman with such incredible speed that she didn't have time to protect herself with metal skin or gravity bubble, knocking her back a few meters but she managed to keep her balance.

"Careful. this thing hits hard!" Lune warned the others, before watching the little witch with the rest of her bottle troops. Impressively, she still stood back up to deliver a pretty mind-boggling speech. And the komolds listened to her, somehow.

Not wasting this opportunity, Lune quickly beelined towards the back of the throne room, razor-sharp fins appearing on her body making her high-speed gravitational dashes more agile while the komolds were doing nothing for the time being, leaving the others behind. Hopefully they can take care of themselves while she's trying something.

Arriving under the cage where the princess was imprisoned, she called out. "You're hanging in there? Don't worry, we'll get you out as soon as possible." The gigantic lizard released a scorching steam just a while ago, and Lune didn't think that the princess could take one hit like that anymore. And that's assuming it wasn't preparing something even stronger.

"But first..."

Her hands were reaching toward the hilt of the Axecalibur, trying to lift the weapon up into the air.

Her attempts to disrupt the giant komodo dragon lacked enough power behind them, bark and stone gathering on her forearms as the hare braced herself before the mighty swipe of Komo-kun came crashing down. "Kusooo… that hurts!" She waved her arms to try and chase the numbing feeling away, her own clawed feet leaving deep grooves on the floor from tanking the assault.

{ I look away for a moment… } The words are followed by a tired sigh within her mind, the lepus grinning as the once dormant spirit stirs awake once more. { Sorede? What trouble have you lured in now?}

"Ryuu!"
{ ... ryuu ka? }
"Nn!"

She points towards the massive Komo-kun, the hare’s eyes glowing with an otherworldly hue for a few moments before it dissipates once more. Silence follows, before another sigh echoes within her mind. { That is no dragon, child.} A frown follows, but he continued before the lepus could object. { Yes, it is strong despite that, so I will lend you my strength. } A boost of energy accentuated his parting words, the spirit becoming silent as he decided to simply observe.

"Arigatoo, Tsukito Seereh-sama!" A hand instinctively reached up to touch the budding horns on her forehead, before her attention turned towards the two closest to her. @Glamora had certainly taken quite a blow, but it was nothing in comparison to the trashing that @Harper had received. As a pair of Komolds headed towards them Toko braced herself for another round, before the small witch surprised the hare as she engaged their enemy with… a business proposal?

Soft claps echoed in the space upon realizing that Glamora had seemingly managed to convince the Komolds to not hinder them further, the Bottle Witch was certainly full of surprises. "Otskare, Majo-chan!" A wide grin adorns her face as she flashes Glamora two thumbs up, before the hare turns towards the other party members.

"OOOIIIIII!!!" Hands gather close to her mouth before she hollered at them, hoping to catch the attention of at least one of the multiple healers currently available. "These two need a medic quick!"

The astral chains along Komo-kun rattle before a golden aura surrounds them, tightening their hold on the komodo dragon’s limb once more before they pull downwards—the hare’s attempt to distract him away from the injured tiger. With that she nods at Glamora, hopeful that the witch can keep Harper from doing anything absurd before the healers patch her up, before her attention turns towards the dangling cage still quite a distance away.

Without missing a beat Toko begins to rush in its direction, concerned over the pained cries the trapped princess released earlier. It seems she’s not the only one with a similar thought, on the other side she can see the @Steel Reaver also heading for the same location—though it’s clear her goal is something else.

"Himechan, daijoobu ka?!" Her chest heaves with every rapid intake of air that her lungs demand, frustrated at the effort it has taken for Toko to rush this far. She can barely see a dark silhouette inside the cage, assumed to be the princess, before the hare taps into her magic with determination.

The ground beneath her feet begins to glow a pale gold before tiny sprouts of grass and wildflowers begin to emerge, and the various cuts and bruises on her arms and legs rapidly begin to heal. A delicate astral chain manifests from Toko’s chest before it connects to the figure high above, linking the princess to the hare and allowing the nurturing magic to flow from one to the other.

Oh, fine, we can flirt after then.

Vina joked as Harper pointed out in her own way that they had better things to do right now than fool around. Easy-going and playful as the vixen was she wasn't so self-absorbed that she didn't know when it was time to focus. A dragon, or a dragon-like creature, wasn't something to ignore or make light of. Its very presence was heating up the throne room, Vina feeling the sweat roll down her skin even as she bolstered the Emerald Green around herself so the plants wouldn't wither away.

Fina's uncertainty was answered with an encouraging smile. The druidess motioned with her staff towards the others, and the great beast that they were all squaring off against.

Do what you're good at, and I'll do the same. Together saving the princess will be a breeze~

While Vina was confident in her abilities as a healer she clearly was no warrior. Fina might not have a high opinion of her own abilities, but the druidess put a great deal of trust in her feline friend as a frontliner who got things done when she put her mind to it.

Although Fina's suggestion did make Vina pause.

Maybe? They seem pretty angry to me, so I don't know if they'd be willing to talk... Want to give it a shot?

She wasn't going to turn down an offer to peacefully solve this situation. Especially since neither the komodo dragon nor the komolds were happy about the attacks that were already being launched by the other Starcalled.

From her position in the back Vina had a good view as the komodo dragon retaliated in kind. Every part of the dragon's body was a weapon: claws, tail, and maw all served to strike back at the brave adventurers charging in to save the princess, and the vixen's ears vibrated as she heard a shrill whistling from that same maw alongside an abundance of scorching steam.

It's going to breathe fire!

Even if this wasn't a true dragon it was similar enough that Vina would assign similar abilities to it until proven otherwise. Dashing forward she left the patch of Emerald Green behind, only for some of the vines to extend and trail after her, crawling across the tiled floor like slithering snakes. As she ran she channelled more magic into the tip of her staff, a green glow building up to the point that some of it manifested as healthy leafs that fluttered through the air.

Getting into range she raised the staff high into the air. The vines that had followed her spiralled around her as if reaching for the lifted staff before the vixen planted the butt against the stone floor. As before a surge of green erupted and took over the area, more Emerald Green manifesting inside the throne room.

Another wave of green energy also flowed out of the staff's glowing head, ethereal tendrils interweaving before getting caught in a breeze that carried the healing magic towards her two feline friends, Fina and Harper. Vina hummed a melody matching the movements of her own magic as Harper's bite wounds began to close and Fina's burns lessened.

Vina's humming also counteracted the whistling from the komodo's charging, preventing the armsmaster's hearing from getting overwhelmed by the high-pitched, echoing sound.

-10 HP from errata.

The Storyteller spun into motion, her predetermined role awaiting its fulfillment.

Magic would coalesce at her fingertips, her grimoire pulled from its pocket dimension to fall atop an open palm, her quill manifesting into the others at the same time.

A song, or poem, would be written then and there, to rouse the spirits of those already engaged in battle against a gargantuan foe, and suffering the effects of its retaliation as time progressed. Though Rael's features had slightly contorted into the smallest hint of a frown, she couldn't help the tick that would tug at the corner of her mouth now and then, the lightheartedness with which some of the people present were conducting themselves something rather... Contagious.

As nonsensical a premise as it was, a story still deserved to be recorded by those there to witness its unfolding,

Pfft! She does have a rather excellent point...

The Seamstress stepped into existence beside the advancing Summoner, speaking her thoughts for her and sharing in a bit of a laugh at the attempt for negotiation that seemed... Quite unbelievably, to actually get somewhere with the vast majority of the Komodo Dragon's minions.

And so, the Seamstress bowed and held a hand out to Glamora's location, looking back at the Storyteller quite expectantly.

"I entrust her care to you. See to it that she is well," Rael said, returning to her monotonous manner of speech within a second.

Little miss, little miss! Oh, you are even tinier now that I'm this close. Cute~

She took out thread and needle, and touched each of Glamora's wounds so as to begin painlessly sewing them back up, stitching her back together by virtue of magic that, in the end, would show no signs of there ever having been any damage in the first place. The blue-haired, human-sized doll laughed with a gloved hand to her mouth, admiring her work before...
Right! Let's talk compensation! For the emotional damages incurred by you delivering such a moving speech without even looking the part for it. I mean, did you even, like, try before coming to this fight to pick out an outfit that doesn't scream "I just came out of the tutorial dungeon"?

The Seamstress' form then wavered, the magical energy that maintained her corporeal form shifting and blurring as if she were about to dematerialize. But instead, the opposite effect was achieved - as now, where the Seamstress had been, stood but another copy of Glamora, one more "sharply" dressed than the original.

How about this? ...Or this? Oh, oh! How about...!

And so Rael's summon answered the higher calling of a fashion emergency rather than actually focus on the fight, switching in and out of different outfits while awaiting Glamora's input for a more drastic change to her looks.

"HSsdgasdgaaaaa-" The sudden searing steam washing over the feline was anything but pleasant, even causing her to drop her weapon, which promptly shattered on the floor. Not to mention that sharp noise that caused her ears to flap down against her head as she staggered backward some. "I- I guess that's a nay on the petting..." Though it seemed that she ended up largely uninjured. Just very, very sweaty. "Ugh." Thankfully she was already not wearing all that much.

That said, it was clear that more problems were on the way. The steam that assaulted her was a clear indication that something even bigger was coming, and Fina was a massive nerd, so she knew exactly what was coming. They were supposed to be fighting a dragon, after all! "Uh-oh!" And it just so happened that there was a gathering of people forming around the princess, a very tasty potential target.

So... the time has finally come. The time to put all of those hours, days, weeks, and more of being immersed in fantasy to pay off! "Sure, there is magic and all that... but people have come up with countless explanations of how a normal creature could breathe fire!" All it took was the right chemicals and a spark to create a flamethrower of sorts, after all. And all of those components had to be stored somewhere.

The girl's eyes scanned the Komo's body for a rough location around its stomach where such a thing could be. And, well... if she was wrong, maybe her attack would still be forceful enough to knock the wind out of the lizard and prevent the attack from going off? It was worth a shot, even if she was probably gonna get burned in the process. Her right arm became clad in glowing armor formed by her arcanamancy as she dashed forward and attempted to deliver a devastating uppercut to knock the wind out of the Komo!

-162 from Komo Bite, +59 heal from @Vina Skysong, +55 buff from Vina on the previous turn.

Harper barely had time to gloat about sending the komodo dragon flying before the retribution started. Fire and claws flew around like candy from a pinata, and the tigress didn't have to wait much for her turn to come on the chopping block.

"F-Fast-!" Her good reactions were enough to send the important bits of her body off the way of the bite, but her left arm and some of her left side were still caught and pierced by the beast's fangs. Her eyes widened as the pain shot through her body, the pain only being surpassed by her quick thinking to go and use her free arm to pry a little space between the beast's teeth, dragging her mangled arm out with a primal scream.

It was not a pretty sight.

The corners of the world darkened. Her own heartbeat became wardrums between her ears. For the tigress, the only thing that existed right now was herself, the beast in front of her, and the looming sensation that she might actually die here. In her mind, the despair-inducing sights of the battle against the Mother of Machines flashed back into her psique.

Her limbs shook. The air in her lungs felt like scorching gales. Her blood felt like it was boiling through her veins. An ominous, lavender-colored energy started to manifest from her as breathing got quicker and uncontrolled.

There's so much blood...

Is that... Her blood?

?!?!?!!?!?!??!!!!

A primal roar echoed through the halls. The energy burst outwards, and those nearby could feel something had changed in the beastkin. Gone was the confident, competitive Harper, replaced by something more...
Feral. Uncontrolled. Unchained.

Survive.

Survive.

SURVIVESURVIVESURVIVESURVIVESURVIVESURVIVESURVIVESURVIVESURVIVESURVIVESURVIVESURVIVE

"HROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAH!"

Her mind barely even computed the fact that Vina's healing had fixed her arm. Thus, she did not use it. As @Fina Drago finished her attack, the orange figure of the tigress dashed past her and went after the dragon's head, grabbing onto it with her claws before opening her maw wide and shoving her animalistic teeth into one of its eye.

Mangle the eye, crush the orbital bone, rip off the flesh. Harper was trying to do all at once, with no particular finesse or technique. To Harper, all that was important right now was surviving.

Running wasn't an option. It would catch her. Thus, the only way to survive was for the dragon to die.

Unfolding the Unknown

"I... I hope you are right, little witch! I have never seen this kind of negotiation before... But you will really free me, right? Not negotiate even more ransom, right?"

The princess responded to @Glamora Dark, watching the Komolds retreating.

"Kapitalismo, ho! Kapitalismo, ho! Kapitalismo, ho!"

The Komolds had decided to walk away from the combat, perhaps temporarily, leaving their big boss all by itself in front of all those meddling heroes, that dared to get on the way of its plans.

"... Kommooo..?"

Its confusion, along with the truce with the Komolds was exactly what the heroes needed for a counter attack. With @Vina Skysong and @Rael taking their time to recover the wounds of her allies, while others tried to retaliate with all their strength, catching Komo-kun off guard.

Its eye widened upon @Fina Drago's strike on its stomach, making it stagger for a moment when its air escaped its mouth in the form of a steam, only for it to be surprised by @Harper suddenly going for a bite on its eye, causing it to roar, growl and shake its head around and trying to close its eye before throwing the tigress away from it.

Meanwhile, @Toko and @Lune approached, bringing the hopes of the princess up, with the relieving magic touching her burns, and the Axecalibur finally being held by one of the heroes!

The Legendary Weapon brightened up, and the room began rumbling, with slits opening on the ground and nearly making the Komodo Dragon slip its feet on the lava that was by the bottom of the wide openings the powerful weapon had caused just by being removed from its holder. The power the artifact had ran through the veins of the songstress, and every other hero could feel inspired by it, and even the Princess had brightened up, responding to their call.

"M-My heroes! Yes... I am feeling much better, now that you are here! Thank you, you are all so cool!

Even if it was hard to see her face, it was clear her eyes were teary of joy and relief.

"I am not sure where are the keys, but there is this weird barrier one of those little dragons had created... I-I know magic enough to know it isn't that strong, but it will be a bit troublesome..."

But her words were soon cut short.

"AAAAAAHH!"

A sudden wind began rattling the cage, but not only it, the whole room seemed to shake, as if being struck by a tornado while the gigantic Komodo Dragon flapped its wings, exerting great force, enough to even send some of the heroes flying.

A gigantic tail shadowed @Toko, clashing against her while she tried to approach the caged princess, while the fierce claw went down to @Harper, trying to finish the business Komo-kun had started.

@Lune toppled and nearly face planted as the wind dragged her away and almost making her lose the grip of the Axecalibur, @Fina Drago found herself being sent toward the slit that had opened behind her, watching the lava bubbling as she fell, @Glamora Dark, @Rael, and @Vina Skysong weren't able to withstand the wind either, struggling to stand on their feet and being knocked away... And before they could recover...

... The fiery yet blurry gaze of Komo-kun had met them, and after one last whistling steam escaped, it opened its mouth, along with the gates that allowed the fire from hell itself to escape toward all of you...

"I have..." Feeling energy surging through her, she unleashed the dormant power that was inside the weapon, enveloping the throne room with magic that boosted her comrades' spirits. "... the Power!"

The sensation was... strange. As if the axe wasn't bound to the physical realm at all, and it just appeared at her left or right hand just by willing it.

She could feel the Komodo Dragon's aura on her, probably wary of the axe. That'll be good if she could pull the aggro from the rest of the team, but getting pummeled without getting a chance to attack would be bad.

With this much power contained in this axe, Lune wondered if she could absorb it all for herself. Or better, there's someone here who could benefit from this caliber of a magic weapon... Someone who was already possessing unbelievable destructive power.

"Hare!" Calling out to the white-haired beastfolk, Lune held the Axecalibur in front of her horizontally, staring Toko in the eyes saying nothing. She'll understand.

The axe disappeared from sight completely, and in the next millisecond, it appeared at @Toko's side, ready to be grabbed.

She had assumed Komo-kun would keep his attention on the main entrance, mainly since five of their party members were currently gathered in close vicinity to one another there, and thus was caught by surprise when the whip-like tail of the creature slammed against her back. "Gyaaah!" The faint connection between Toko and the princess quickly shattered as the lepus was sent face first into the ground, rolling off a good distance before the wall finally got in her way.

"It-taiyo!" She glared at the beast, before realization dawned onto the hare as the temperature within the room began to increase once more. "Mina abunai—!!!"

A sharp gasp escaped as she stood up once more, the disaster evident even from her distance as the lepus stared towards the main entrance. ”Hare!” Her fists balled tightly until a shout finally caught her attention, turning to gaze at the player that held Axecalibur in her hands.

"Nandaeeh?" The frustration in her voice quickly switched to one of curious surprise as the ax suddenly materialized before her, hands reaching for it just before it crashed onto the ground. {Interesting… this is quite the find.}She frowns at the voice inside her head, eyes shifting away from the ax in her grasp to look upwards—though nothing in particular that @Lune could see. "Dooshte?"

{It’ll be easier to just show you.} There’s a hint of amusement that’s uncommon for the moon spirit, causing the lepus to tilt her head lightly to the side before he continues. {Curious, eh? Hit our tokage no tomodachi hard and you’ll find out~}

He certainly knew how to get her attention, a smirk slowly forming on her lips as the hare turned towards Komo-kun. She couldn’t reach the others on the far-end of the room, but that didn’t mean the lepus couldn’t help. Her weight bounces for a moment at the ball of her feet while the hare looks for the best approach, only to zoom off in the direction of the beast’s back.

The claws on her rabbit feet offered additional grip as she rushed upwards, letting the sharp edge of the ax carve a path against the scaled skin of the komodo dragon. She rushed ahead without hesitation, crimson eyes fixed on her goal as that smirk quickly grew into a wide grin. Her grip tightens around the handle as she reaches the neck of the reptile, another leap crossing the remaining distance as Toko lands atop his head.

"Yo!" She taps the end of the ax against his skull in time to her greeting, before her other hand joins the first in its handle. "Yatto aeta ne, Tokage-sama!"

She swings in a full wide arc, the edge of Axecalibur finally crashing down onto Komo’s head with all her might. The floor quakes with the impact before astral chains explode around them, pushing the ax even deeper into the gashing wound before snaking around the massive body of the beast, restricting his movement as the ground around Komo’s feet erupts into various sized spikes.

Her gaze shifts back towards Lune just as the ax between her fingers dematerializes, giving the woman a thumbs up before the lepus slides down the spine of the komodo dragon. "That’s a cool ax ya found!" By the time Toko reaches her Axecalibur has already materialized in Lune’s hands, the hare offering a friendly pat to her shoulder before her gaze turns back to the trapped princess.

"Think you can keep him busy for a bit, Reddo-chan?"
