Stepping off the plane had hit Ari with with a wave of familiarity. The humid air sitting heavy in his lungs, the cool breeze blowing through the open airport, the leis made of plumerias draped around the necks of tourists, or bought from one of the many small stalls that lined the combined baggage claim-arrivals pickup area.

But that keen sense of apprehension never left the man. His anxiety riddled form was tense as he turned and looked to find Nico, the woman having run off ahead of him as soon as he'd pulled her luggage off the conveyer belt. Thankfully, the pink head of hair wasn't hard to miss among the sea of dark haired natives, and blonde haoles.

He weaved his way through the sparse crowd that encircled carousel three and made his way to the woman. He stopped beside the woman and looked out of the airport past her. Before them the massive mountains loomed over them, a thick fog hanging around them in the wake of the refreshing Hawaiian rain. "So, how do you like it so far?" the man asked as one of his hands retreated to his pocket, feeling for the phone in his pocket, pulling it out and nervously checking to see if he had any notifications. None. Not yet. "Pretty nice, huh?" the man said as put the phone back into his pocket.

If she had a penny for everytime someone paid her a trip to an airport far far away from home to go visit a friend she would have two by now. Not much, but considering the circumstances it's almost like a deja vu. Good thing her partner for the trip was Ari this time. The man at least kept quiet on the whole way there.

Or she just fell asleep and he had to deal with her snoring, much like the rest of the plane.

Of course the duty of picking up the luggage was relegated to him, not because he is the man here, but because she won rock paper scissors (a first time) and the labour dropped over his shoulders. All she wanted is some fresh air, but instead it's the swift differences in temperature what caught her off, and she had to be thankful for her senses telling her to wear light this time around.

"So, how do you like it so far?"

Nico turned to face him, a hand reaching out to tighten a bit the loose strap from her backpack, eagle eyes confirming he indeed had all their stuff and haven't forgotten nigh a thing. With the many heads amidst the crowds and this tightness upon her chest telling her to watch her back every five seconds, it's hard not to be paranoid. Specially considering the neightbor they were living at.

"We just stepped out of the plane. The view was cool from above though." Arms folded under her bust, her instincts kicked in once Ari fell to old habits of checking on his phone yet again, a punch swiftly dispatched on his arm, hard enough that he could tell she tried to numb it down. "It will be pretty nice once you stop checking your phone. You gonna waste yourself away with anxiety, dude." Nico's tone almost came off as worried at that point.

No wonder things felt so awkward in the first place...

"I'm just sayin' we are here to do hawaii stuff. No drama, no bitching, just hawaii stuff, got it? Try to get the message clear to the other two nutcracks. Else, we just gonna ruin the mood."

Just got off the plane.
UNP6TCz.jpg

She texted Ari, who should have already arrived ahead of time with Nico (irl Fiora). The flight was quite eventless, with the idol sleeping soundly throughout the way until arrival. So far, no one has recognized her too.

It looked like the style change-up worked too well in her favor. But at least she didn't have to wear mask and baseball cap in airports now.

Thankfully, the air in Hawaii was rather cool. She almost regretted wearing all back looking at the outer tourists coming out of the airport.

Her eyes scanned the crowd, looking for a certain asian man and his pink-haired companion (according to the description that was given to her).

It was not hard to find the two popping like a sore thumb among the crowd. The idol with previously unseen two-toned hair promptly walked closer to the man, nodding at him while waving her left hand as she walked toward him. "Yo." The woman took her hand off her luggage bag handle and offered a handshake to the pink head standing beside him for their first formal, face-to-face meeting. "Fiora, I presume? Dayeon Song."

"Val's not here yet?"

The humidity in the air had been the first thing Val had noticed, the blonde instinctively tensing up in response. Chill out, esto no es la isla, just Hawaii. A faint sigh escaped her lips before she spotted her luggage in the conveyor belt among the sea of other colorful varieties. The carry-on bag she’d carried was easily slid around the handles of her luggage bag, letting it rest atop it as the girl quietly guided it through the airport.

She had booked an early flight once Dayeon had given her the information for the trip, having wanted to arrive early rather than late, and yet the universe had seemingly conspired against her wishes. Said flight had a two hour delay before finally parting, and as Val carefully dodged other tourists she tried to keep an eye out for the familiar faces of Ari and Dayeon… and when that failed she simply decided to focus on finding a head of bright pink hair.

"Ah, there!"

Fingers had been close to typing out a text to the man when she finally spotted the bright flowing locks of a petite figure, before shifting to the familiar man beside her. Ari was impossible to mistake for any other, and even though she hadn’t seen him IRL since summerfest the only thing that would’ve made it easier to recognize him would’ve been his signature black coat worn in TerraSphere.

Her steps had shifted towards their direction, but just before the blonde could call out to the pair another voice had reached for them first. "What the… is that Dee?" She was surprised by the new look the songstress spoked, a far cry from when Dayeon had recorded the apology for the delay of her album that had circulated through Instagram and other forms of social media.

"Val's not here yet?" Still the voice was unmistakable, that was indeed the Moonsong that she knew in-game, her voice calling out in response to Dee’s question. "Just landed actually, flight back home got delayed."

"It will be pretty nice once you stop checking your phone. You gonna waste yourself away with anxiety, dude."
"Is that concern I detect in your voice?"
the man asked dryly, just as, if not more defensive than Nico normally was.
"I'm just sayin' we are here to do hawaii stuff. No drama, no bitching, just hawaii stuff, got it?..."
"What the fuck is 'Hawaii stuff'...?"

"Yo." The familiar voice of the idol interrupted the pairs banter, drawing all eyes to her. Eyes that blinked in surprise as Ari stepped back, astounded. The face was the same, but the style of makeup, the hair, the way she dressed, everything. It was all different now. "Woah. New look?" the man couldn't help himself from asking as he eyed the idol up and down trying to fit Dayeon and bad-bitch-girl-crush into the same mental image.

"Val's not here yet?"
"Just landed actually, flight back home got delayed."
The new voice announced the arrival of the last of their party, and Ari's eyes drifted over to the blonde head of hair he'd become so accustomed to seeing over the course of that one July weekend. "Hey," the man greeted the girl with a sheepish smile. "At least you made it, right?" Definitely not awkward...not at all.

"What the fuck is 'Hawaii stuff'...?"
"Fuck you-"

It was when this hot bruneblonde chick showed up that Nico turned an eyebrow back to Ari. Apparently, he knew her given his reactions, and nothing seemed to register until she actually introduced herself as Dayeon Song, which made her crank her neck back at the korean idol, eyeing her up and down with not a shred of shame.

"Nico... Wait, what is Dayeon Song doing here. Ari you know Dayeon MOTHERFUCKING Song and you didn't TELL me?!" Her voice fought between excitement and pure wrath, a clenching fist wanted to go for it and teach him a lesson, but that energy instead went to taking hold of her idol's hand, giving it one tight squeeze, pearly teeth showing off on a cheerful smile. "Hell yeah, this whole hawaii thing is worth it ten times more now." Bubbling with enthusiasm, the pinkette almost had missed someone important at the corner of her eye... Almost.

Were it not for the voice and Dayeon's own questioning about this third person's presence, and the cringe-worthy response Ari gave her.

"At least you made it, right?"

'Shitbrain...' Nico didn't miss a beat from her thoughts, and went straight into saving the pair from fidgeting with their thumbs and staring at the ground like two high schoolers, pouncing like a predator over Valeria, embracing the blonde with warm arms and a welcoming, low, yet girly scream.

"GIIIIIRL YOU CAME!" She broke that hug seconds after to hold Val by her shoulders and give a good look at her. "And you lookin' damn fine. Wouldn't shorts be better though? It's hot as fuck around here."

"Woah. New look?"

"After all that happened, might as well. How do I look?" The idol was quite proud of her transformation. If she made a comeback with this look, the internet would break for sure.

"Ari you know Dayeon MOTHERFUCKING Song and you didn't TELL me?!"

She quickly brought out a hush gesture to prevent Nico from speaking her name out loud. The idol didn't want her presence to be known here, after all.

With a genuinely confused face, she looked at Ari and then Nico back and forth, shaking Nico's hand firmly before asking the man. "You... didn't tell her?" She was quite sure her other self used her real name quite a lot when they were both talking. Also, there was no way Ari or Val never spoke of this.

Speaking of Val.

"Just landed actually, flight back home got delayed."

A voice came from behind. She turned around, revealing a blonde that she hadn't met for quite some time.

If the thing didn't happen between them, she would have walked up to Val and hugged her, before pinching her cheeks. But for now, a simple nod will do. At least until they can go back to where they were. "Val." Dayeon smiled awkwardly, waving lightly at the blonde.

"Alright, should we go now?"
She turned to Ari, who apparently knows Hawaii like the back of his hand.

”Ari you know Dayeon MOTHERFUCKING Song and you didn't TELL me?!"
"Fi—Nico, shhh!!!"

She’d acted on impulse as Nico’s voice had suddenly rang loudly through the space, the blonde quickly pressing her index finger to her lips as she signaled for the pinkette to use her indoor volume instead. Part of her was honestly surprised to find out that the other girl was also a fan of Dayeon, watching as Nico quickly reached for the songstress hand and clutch to it tightly.

Her eyes didn’t remain on them for long though, drawn to Ari as his own gaze traveled towards her. They were finally meeting face-to-face (in the real world at least) for the first time in months, and a light rosy hue colored her cheeks as his greeting was returned with a timid smile on her lips. "Hey." Things had been awkward since Lübeck. He’d admitted that Valeria meant more to him than the blonde initially thought and, in turn, she had also verbally confessed that the feeling had been mutual—she cared for him in the same way he did about her, but now it looked like neither knew how to act around the other anymore.

"At least you made it, right?"
"Y-Yeah, it’d be a shame to miss all of this—oomph!"

A pair of arms suddenly wrapped around her, pulling Val for a close embrace that the violinist returned shortly after the initial surprise faded away. "What, and let the mosquitos take a bite out of me early into the trip?" Light chuckles left the girl as Nico seemed to have personal opinions about her bottoms, the girl trapping some of the fabric of her leggings between her index and thumb fingers and pulling it lightly.

"You should try them some time, they’re super comfy and breathable~"

Dayeon’s voice carried over then, catching the blonde’s attention once more as she returned the nod with one of her own—a smile still playing on her lips from Nico’s own antics… though there was a bittersweetness that lingered in the corners of it. Any other time Val was sure that the older woman would have greeted her in a similar way as Nico, with the added bonus of pinched cheeks, but as things stood it was still too soon for them to go back to how things used to be before. Her arms loosened then, one remaining around Nico’s waist while the free hand rested atop the handle of her luggage.

"Alright, should we go now?"
"Sure, now that we're all here, what's gonna be our first stop?"

"After all that happened, might as well. How do I look?" Between her change in looks in-game, and this switch, an idle thought drifted through Ari's head. 'She's trying to change herself' the man noted. The why was a mystery, but even still the man said, "Not b-"
"Ari you know Dayeon MOTHERFUCKING Song and you didn't TELL me?!"
Nico shouted, cutting Ari off before he could finish his sentence.
"Shut the fuck up!" Ari whisper-shouted at Nico as Valeria shushed her.

"You... didn't tell her?"
"Didn't think I needed to. Again, it still surprises me that people like this idiot find it that hard to put two and two together, given how you looked in-game,"
the man droned with a vaguely disappointed look on his face as he jabbed a thumb over in Nico's direction.

Slowly everyone greeted each other with various degrees of enthusiasm (Nico's leap at Dayeon still remaining at the top spot). The way that Valeria and Dayeon greeted each other though, Ari paid special attention to. Letting out a silent breath of relief, the man was glad that things weren't too difficult between them. Not that it should've been, considering Dayeon had been the one to invite Valeria, and she'd accepted, but even still, the entire flight over, Ari couldn't help but worry that things would be...difficult, between them. They were awkward, still, maybe. But no more than he was with the whole situation. This was the best possible outcome.

"Alright, should we go now?"
"Sure, now that we're all here, what's gonna be our first stop?"
"Car rentals,"
Ari answered a little surprised that no one had thought of that yet. "Unless you guys wanna walk to the other side of the island," the man joked as he started to walk away from the group, gesturing for them to follow. "C'mon, there's a shuttle that'll take us to the rental place."

It was like a bus stop, where the four waited, a few other passengers from various flights waiting alongside them until the short black and yellow bus pulled up in front of them and opened it's doors with a hiss. "So, the place we're staying is on the other side of the island," Ari began to explain, having been the one to find their place of residence for their trip as the doors closed behind them and shoved his suitcase on the shuttle's rack. "We're on the east side right now, in Kahalui," that much they probably knew from their flight information. "This is the one 'big' city on Maui. And that," the man pointed up at the big green mountain in front of them, "is Haleakala, meaning 'House of the Sun'. It's the island's active volcano." The man was starting to sound more and more like a tour guide as he went on and on. "Other side is way drier than where we are now, but still plenty nice. Fewer people too."

They all brought a different variation of 'Shut the fuck up Nico', with Val being the nicest next to Dayeon's, and Ari being Ari, who was this close to win the lottery for a one way trip to Disneyland, flying in Sucker Punch Airports International with Nico as the pilot.

"Alright alright I fucking get it!" She whispered back at them all, her aggression almost completely extinguished, if only because she did fuck up and wasn't some baby who couldn't acknowledge her own mistakes... Not the most glaring ones at least.

"Didn't think I needed to. Again, it still surprises me that people like this idiot find it that hard to put two and two together, given how you looked in-game,"

"Sorry, remind me who was the brainlet who almost ruined a very expensive surprise trip by sending a picture to the person we were trying to surprise?" Old wounds always work as ammo for her, and their visit to Nao would never slip out of her mind because of such key highlights, and Theo being an anti-social. A good chef, but an anti-social.

Instead of pondering on new ways to humilliate Ari, and with the clear 'tension' that still remains ever since the Moonsong incident, the pinkette put all the attention on Val's fashion, and her own explanation behind her choice of attire, her gaze unmistakenly falling on her leggings.

"Leggings eh? I'm always wearing cargos, shorts or skirts so I wouldn't know." She said, flaunting her own as both of her hands slid close to it's fabrics, the lack of contact just made the presentation all the more stylish in her mind. "But what I do know about is bug repellents, I got a few just in case we needed 'em, and I mean we will, we got a big bloodsucker mosquitoe next to us." Devilish smile and a side-glance went back to Ari.

Everything seemed 'fine', despite her reservations. She just had to stop thinking about it, wrap an arm around Val and listen to Dayeon push the question they all had in their minds but Ari, who explained their entire trip, passing over her luggage for him to drop at the shuttle. "Heh, you planned this all on your own?" She added, coy smile tracing back to the one time she could think of to use as an example. "So we are going to be housed near an active volcano..." She shrugged, letting go of the blonde just to turn herself and face both her and Dayeon the Idol.

"Are we ready to go to the beach as soon as we drop our stuff in our rooms? Unless our tour guide had something in mind, I wanna do hawaii stuff. I'll get a grass skirt, a flower tiara, some coconuts and I'll kick you all's ass in anything you wanna play. Voleyball if we got a net."

"C'mon, there's a shuttle that'll take us to the rental place."

"Alright, let's go."

Her luggage was big, so instead she just kept it close to her. How were Ari and Nico able to bring small luggage for a couple of weeks' worth of vacation? Underwear alone took up about one-fourth of her massive luggage's space.

She listened to the man's explanation while in the shuttle, looking at the mountain in front of them. She had never seen an active volcano this close. "It's safe, isn't it?" The woman asked, unfamiliar with volcanoes.

Still awkward with Val and rather unfamiliar with Nico, Dayeon spent most of the time in the shuttle keeping her mouth shut before the pink head asked if they want to go straight into the beach after dropping off their belongings. "Sure, seems fun." She gave her a polite smile before Nico boasted.

"I'll kick you all's ass in anything you wanna play."

Her smile widened into an evil, competitive one. Looks like someone hadn't been watching Idol Star Athletics Championships these past five years, apparent by the lack of knowledge that Slime Girls beat the hell out of everyone every year in various sports. "We'll see."

The shuttle slowed down as they were nearing the rental place. The idol looked at everyone's belongings, before turning to Ari. "Should we rent two cars? There's no way we can fit all this in a single car. Except if you want to drive a minibus."

"Sorry, remind me who was the brainlet who almost ruined a very expensive surprise trip by sending a picture to the person we were trying to surprise?"

She couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow at the exchange between Ari and Nico, unsure of what the pinkette was referring to, but her attention was quickly shifted away from any curiosity as the girl spoke about bug repellents. "Yeah, I’m aware they exist Nico… but most also kinda stink too." Besides while it was warm and humid here the same couldn’t be said for Michigan, and so compromises had been made to ensure she wasn’t suffering back home, but was also comfortable enough once the plane landed in its destination.

"Car rentals, unless you guys wanna walk to the other side of the island."
"O-Oh, right… car rentals."

The rosy hue was quickly back on her cheeks as the blonde realized her small blunder, having forgotten about that matter entirely. Granted she’d been able to get away with not renting a car in New York, but that had been simply because it was New York and also finding parking for a vehicle would’ve been more of a hassle than just walking or taking an Uber to places. Nico remained next to Val, the pinkette wrapping an arm around the girl, as they followed Ari towards the shuttle stop—her free hand guiding her own luggage through the airport as they walked and talked.

Eventually all of their combined luggage found its way into the shuttle. Ari began sharing more information with them about the place they’d be staying at, and just general Hawaii stuff, and unconsciously the blonde had been drawn closer as she listened. Her sight followed when Ari pointed towards the green mountain, an awed look in her eyes as the girl leaned closer to the window for a better view.

”... and that is Haleakala, meaning 'House of the Sun'. It's the island's active volcano.”
"Whoaa, that’s actually pretty cool~"
"It's safe, isn't it?"

While the words ‘active volcano’ caused the songstress to validate the safety of it Val’s reaction fell on the opposite spectrum, an almost child-like wonder radiating from the girl. Eventually the talk about ‘Hawaii stuff’ called the blonde’s attention back, a light chuckle escaping her lips as Nico challenged them all. "I’m not against the beach, but won’t all the good spots be taken already?" Sure, it wasn’t super late in the day yet, but at least from her experience back in the island and its beaches it was already way past the good time to nab a decent space on the beach.

"We could always explore around today, and then hit the beach bright and early first thing tomorrow?"

Soon enough they arrived at their destination, the gang carefully shuffling their luggage out of the shuttle before Dayeon voiced out a small issue. She wasn’t too surprised that Ari had packed light, which seemed like a common thing for men, however she’d been surprised that Nico was traveling rather lightly too—at least compared to Val’s own luggage. And, of course, then there was Dayeon’s.

"Truuue, two cars might be a good idea…"

"Sorry, remind me who was the brainlet who almost ruined a very expensive surprise trip by sending a picture to the person we were trying to surprise?" Nico fired off at Ari, who did little more than cross his arms and throw back his own retort. "I know exactly what I was doin'," the man swore, "besides, at least that way Nao would've been a little bit more prepared for two idiots, an antisocial sociopath and a lovesick bear to drop in on her unannounced."

On the other hand, Ari nodded alongside Val's opinion on the bug repellant. "Yeah, sorry, I'm with her on this one," the man said, gesturing towards the blonde. "That bug spray smells gross as all hell. You spray that inside the house, you can sleep on the balcony." At least there'd be a nice breeze to keep Nico cool, and the calming sounds of the ocean to lullaby her to sleep. And drown out her godforsaken snoring.

The shuttle came to a stop, and Ari stood to start pulling off each of their pieces of luggage and handing them to their respective owners as they all filed out. "Well, the last time Haleakala erupted was about four or five hundred years ago," Ari explained as he grunted with exertion, pulling off the heaviest of the bags and handing it to Dayeon. "Goddamn, did you pack your entire closet in there?" The man asked, before grabbing his own, much smaller, suitcase and stepping off the shuttle. "But yeah, it hasn't gone off in a long while, and it ain't likely to happen again for a while. No need to worry."

"I dunno about you guys, but I didn't manage to catch any sleep on the plane,"
the man then went on to say, after Nico brought up going to the beach immediately and playing some volleyball. "Which means that I've been up for the last fifteen fuckin' hours. I wouldn't mind just takin' it easy today. I could show y'all around, some of the good local food spots. If you're that eager for the beach, we can grab some chairs, a cooler of beers or whatever and have a little barbecue," the man suggested.

"Of course, to do all that, we need cars. And there is no fucking way I'm driving a mom van. I got the cars, but y'all are buying the groceries tonight," the man said as he started to walk towards the car rental's office, disappearing inside. Was it a fair deal? No. But they could pay him back later.

"I know exactly what I was doin',"
Nico pursed her lips just at that, slow nods to add to the sarcasm that her face bled all over his retort. Which point taken, half of it was true, and she wanted to correct him with a 'One idiot, one fuckboy' but given the situation at the moment she had to close her mouth shut about it and change her strategy.
"Good thing you ain't french. Still an idiot though, but credit is where credit is due." She waved her hands above her head in defeat. But that wouldn't carry on once a certain DAYEON MOTHERFUCKING SONG accepted her offer for a match. The idol going as far as to smile back, all cocksure as if she had a plan under wraps.

"We'll see."

"Gonna be eatin' dust I tell ya'. But it will be fun... For me."
Nico squinted, carefully eyeing her up and down. She couldn't possibly be good, right? Girl only sings and dances... Right?

Unlike her, at least she was sure Val couldn't be that good of a player. But she wasn't a professional in the first place either, and for all she cares, she rather team up with the blonde to make these two regret ever playing. Unfortunately they were at odds, with Nico rising a brow, as if it were blasphemous to think bug repellents could stink, or her own nose betrayed her.

"Wait, they do- HEY!" Baffled, Nico shot icy eyes back at Ari.
"You spray that inside the house, you can sleep on the balcony."
"You smell like sweat and salty bitch whenever you come back from work so it can't be any worse than that."
The pinkette replied, hands over the seat in front of her to better stare down at their dark-haired fuckboy host. And to stand back up, obviously, couse they were about to get off. "Thanks." Her tone took a complete 180° when Ari handed her bag at her. They ran out of time to bitch at eachother, and now they were already split with a dilemma. Beach, rest, with Val giving a very strong and short argument:
"I'm not against the beach, but won't all the good spots be taken already?"

"Yeah you are right... Damn. Well, guess your ass whooping gonna have to wait, Day."
Nico turned back to Dayeon to wink at her. "Guess we are going to have to hope the volcano doesn't go off. Alright then, so we go drop everything on the house, we let grandpa over here take a nap while we three go out to buy groceries and find something fun to do in the meantime." She chuckled, leaving his side if only to slither next to Val's, with a gremlin's smile plastered over her lips as her voice hushed down. "Hey so, later I got some stuff to tell ya, remember?" Enthusiasm held behind bars, but Val didn't need Mindsend to notice that, given how Nico's been mentioning having a secret to share. Her eyes then turned over to glance at Dayeon, returning to her bestie as she spoke. "Could include Day on this too. But later."

"I'm not against the beach, but won't all the good spots be taken already?"

"Good catch. Today is Saturday, the beach gotta be so packed."
First day beach might not be a good idea, after all, they arrived on the weekends, the same time as everyone else.

"You smell like sweat and salty bitch whenever you come back from work so it can't be any worse than that."

"Wait, you live with each other?"
Dayeon asked in surprise, as that was news for her. They bicker like a married couple, but there was no way their marriage would last if it was the case. She knew Fiora was friends with Yugam since whenever, but both of them living together was unimaginable.

"Goddamn, did you pack your entire closet in there?" Ari commented, to which the idol quickly retaliated as she took her luggage, getting off at the car rental office. "Don't you bring clothes? We're here for two weeks." Though compared to everyone else, her luggage indeed looked like the contents could feed all the children in the world.

"Could include Day on this too. But later."

"Alright, then. Keep your secrets."
She mimicked a memorable quote by Frodo Baggins in a funny exaggerated way while shrugging. "Also, Day is a pretty weird nickname." The tone she was saying it with was more of a playful banter than a protest, though.

"Anyway, does any of you drive? Val? Nico?" She looked at the two while Ari disappeared into the car rental.

Ari sided with her on the bug repellent topic, and the look on Nico’s face was enough to cause the blonde to chuckle in response—anyone would think she’d just seen them grow an extra head or something with the way the pinkette stared at them both. She was quick to retort when Ari mentioned she’d be delegated to the balcony, and if she hadn’t known any better the blonde would’ve thought they were siblings with the way the pair bickered.

"Wait, you live with each other?"
"Quite a shock, right? They’re like this all the time, kinda like a pair of brothers I knew back in middle school."

As if to try and prove that theory correct the pinkette soon did a 180° in demeanor, even handing out a "Thanks." when Ari passed her luggage over. She mouthed her own quiet thank yous when Ari passed her suitcase over next, before a grunt rang out as he pulled the last one out. His comment earned a stifled laugh from the blonde as she joined Nico, knowing Dayeon it was very probable that Ari’s question was probably a very accurate statement to what the songstress carried inside her luggage.

"I dunno about you guys, but I didn't manage to catch any sleep on the plane."

Concern crossed her face as the man mentioned he’d been awake for 15 hours already, while his insomnia was no secret to Val she had thought he might’ve gotten at least an hour or two of rest during the flight—the blonde had passed out for a good portion of her own plane ride—but it seemed that was not the case. A couple of alternatives were listed out by Ari of things they could do on the first day, before he quickly highlighted that all of it would require renting a car.

"W-Wait, that hardly seems fair—"

Before the blonde could properly voice out an argument to the proposed division of costs—Ari paying for the vehicles and the girls covering groceries for the day—the man had already disappeared through the door, a defeated sigh escaping the blonde before she turned to Nico and her ideas. "Yeah, that sounds like a good plan." She hoped Ari would be able to get some sleep while the girls were away figuring out what they wanted to cook and a proper list of ingredients to get in the supermarket as a result.

"Mmm, anything in particular you guys wanna have tonight?"

Already the girl had unlocked her phone, quickly finding her notes app and opened a new entry, the title ‘Groceries’ quickly typed onto it out of habit—without a list they were bound to forget necessary things and regret it later on when it was time to cook. It was then she felt the gremlin energies radiating by her side, a side-glance given to the pink-haired girl that had slid to her side just as Nico spoke with her rare inner voice. "Hey so, later I got some stuff to tell ya, remember?" The blonde couldn’t help the tilt of her head, the enthusiasm radiating from the pinkette almost palpable, but for the life of Val she couldn’t remember what Nico was referring too—much less when she turned towards Dayeon and mentioned including the songstress too.

"Alright, then. Keep your secrets."
"Y-Yeah, that’s alright with me."

Hopefully she sounded convincing enough or, at the very least, perhaps Nico would mistake Val’s slight hesitation to the awkwardness that still lingered between Dayeon, Ari and her even after the last couple of weeks. "Anyway, does any of you drive? Val? Nico?" Thankfully the oldest of the three was soon switching the topic, something that Val was silently thankful for before she modded in reply to the question posed. "Mhmm, been driving since I was sixteen~" Granted that had been more out of necessity than anything else, her grandfather had already been at an age where his reflexes just weren’t what they used to be—and Nonna had long since given up on driving a vehicle, always said she never liked the way Americans drove on the road.

"What about you, Dee?"

At this point, Ari was really questioning whether or not Nico had functioning olfactory senses. He worked in a coffee shop. If anything, the man came home smelling like a strange blend of ground coffee. That overpowering scent clung to everything like cigarette smoke.

Anyways, now convinced that Nico was completely noseblind, Ari turned towards Moonsong who asked the two dipshits a question. "Wait, you live with each other?"
"Yup,"
Ari responded with a nod.
"Quite a shock, right? They're like this all the time, kinda like a pair of brothers I knew back in middle school."
Ari could only shrug at Valeria's observation. "I dunno 'bout that. Nico's more like a parasite than a sibling. Just started crashing on my couch more and more until she just stopped leaving altogether." At least she helped around the apartment. Honestly, Nico could've been far worse, but Ari's unprompted roommate was pretty decent to live with.

By the time Ari stepped back outside, two car keys in hand, the girl were all huddled around each other like gossiping school girls...gossiping...Ari stopped just a couple feet away from them before shaking his head. "Do I even wanna know?" the man asked before dangling keys in front of them. "We got our rides, c'mon. Aisle four, spots forty seven and forty-eight."

The nerve to compare her to a parasite. A leech would fit, not much of a gold digger giving he just willingly pukes money for her, and that just makes him the best friend or worst simp imaginable, given their situation at his appartment. "That's his way of saying he doesn't want me to leave because he is sad and lonely in his appartment. And I'm obviously his best choice for a roommate." She smirked, sinking down the irony of that statement. At least until she could tag along with Ronja. But then, that so applies to Ari, doesn't it?

To 'Day's curiosity, Nico couldn't help but shrug and instead nudge her elbow at Val, her right hand on all this she had prepared already, giving the confused blonde a few playful winks. "Yeah we'll keep 'em for now. It's important."

"Also, Day is a pretty weird nickname."
"What do you want me to call you then. Song? Moon?"
Slightly annoyed at that, but such energy pivoted to the key-dangler infront of them. "Die of curiosity, bitch. That's what you get for callin' me a parasite AND trashtalking my coffee. Sagely nodding at her conclusion, before snatching one of the keys at random from his hand, or at least attempting to before anyone had a chance to start.

"I dunno how to drive, but I want to go in the cool car. Val, can you babysit Ari on this one? I'll take the popstar girl for a ride." Confidence like radiation expelled from her, even if she... Didn't know how to drive whatsoever. Or rather, no one would want to have her on the driver seat, if memories of her last instructor are something to go for. But there were any options. No way she would let Val go on any car that ain't Ari's.

Nico's eyes steered on Dayeon's direction, rising the keys to dangle next to her, as if waiting for the idol to say 'Yes I know how to drive'.

"I got a playlist you gonna like on my phone if you say yes."

"What do you want me to call you then. Song? Moon?"

"I'm just messing around. Day is fine," She consoled the girl, before whispering in a mocking manner, "Still weird though."

"What about you, Dee?"

"Oh, I'm just gonna let you in on a secret,"
The woman grinned, turning to Val who for sure watched all her past MVs. "Remember the music video for Slime Girls' Drive You Crazy? That one part where I'm drifting a convertible inside a mall during the chorus?"

After an acknowledgment, she proudly pointed to herself with her thumb. "Yeah, that's all me. No stuntwoman, no CG. I burnt a lot of tires that day."

The girl, however, quickly reassured them that she was not gonna drift on a public road, especially not when vacationing. Getting into a car crash is not on her bucket list. "Not gonna pull any of those shenanigans, of course, but you get the idea." The idol quickly snatched the key Nico dangled in front of her, grinning before motioning her to follow behind.

They arrived at Aisle four, spots forty-seven and forty-eight where two cars are parked next to each other. "Nice, Mustang. The exact car we used for the shoot." She identified, before pressing the door unlock button on the remote. As the blue convertible beeped, she lifted her baggage to put it in the backseat of the car.

Dayeon then turned to the only male in the group, showing him her phone. "Send the location to my phone."

Yeah, they definitely acted like siblings.

The blonde couldn’t help but stifle her laughter, poorly one might add, and shortly after the pinkette was shooting playful winks in her direction as she responded back to Dayeon. "R-Right, super important." She still had no idea what the fuck Nico was on about, but it was clear enough the woman wanted Val to back her up—and it’s not like the blonde had anything to lose by doing so.

"Do I even wanna know?"

Ari’s voice caused her to look over, the girl offering a light shrug of her shoulders and a small smile to the man right before Nico’s colorful answer. It was then the pinkette finally parted from her side, snatching one of the keys held up by Ari, and going right into assigning riding partners before anyone else could object. A timid glance was given in Ari’s direction, though no protests found their way to her lips as the group began making their way to the assigned spots where their rides waited.

”Remember the music video for Slime Girls' Drive You Crazy?”
"Mhmm, I mean who wouldn’t? It was an absolute muuua of an emmvee~"

The blonde had brought a hand close to her face, making the iconic chef kiss gesture as she spoke, before Dayeon’s next revelation caught Valeria off-guard.

"Yeah, that's all me. No stuntwoman, no CG. I burnt a lot of tires that day."
"W-What…? No way, for real?!"

It was then they finally arrived at the spots numbered as 47 and 48, a pair of convertible Mustangs waiting for the group. A raised eyebrow was shot in Dayeon’s direction, the blonde recognizing the models to be the same as the ones in the MV, before the songstress promised to not get into any shenanigans behind the wheel as she pressed the unlock button on the remote, having snatched the key from Nico a few moments before. The blue convertible beeped in response, answering an unspoken question of who was riding where, and Val began leading her own luggage towards the other vehicle.
