Ari sided with her on the bug repellent topic, and the look on Nico’s face was enough to cause the blonde to chuckle in response—anyone would think she’d just seen them grow an extra head or something with the way the pinkette stared at them both. She was quick to retort when Ari mentioned she’d be delegated to the balcony, and if she hadn’t known any better the blonde would’ve thought they were siblings with the way the pair bickered.
"Wait, you live with each other?"
"Quite a shock, right? They’re like this all the time, kinda like a pair of brothers I knew back in middle school."
As if to try and prove that theory correct the pinkette soon did a 180° in demeanor, even handing out a
"Thanks." when Ari passed her luggage over. She mouthed her own quiet thank yous when Ari passed her suitcase over next, before a grunt rang out as he pulled the last one out. His comment earned a stifled laugh from the blonde as she joined Nico, knowing Dayeon it was very probable that Ari’s question was probably a very accurate statement to what the songstress carried inside her luggage.
"I dunno about you guys, but I didn't manage to catch any sleep on the plane."
Concern crossed her face as the man mentioned he’d been awake for 15 hours already, while his insomnia was no secret to Val she had thought he might’ve gotten at least an hour or two of rest during the flight—the blonde had passed out for a good portion of her own plane ride—but it seemed that was not the case. A couple of alternatives were listed out by Ari of things they could do on the first day, before he quickly highlighted that all of it would require renting a car.
"W-Wait, that hardly seems fair—"
Before the blonde could properly voice out an argument to the proposed division of costs—Ari paying for the vehicles and the girls covering groceries for the day—the man had already disappeared through the door, a defeated sigh escaping the blonde before she turned to Nico and her ideas.
"Yeah, that sounds like a good plan." She hoped Ari would be able to get
some sleep while the girls were away figuring out what they wanted to cook and a proper list of ingredients to get in the supermarket as a result.
"Mmm, anything in particular you guys wanna have tonight?"
Already the girl had unlocked her phone, quickly finding her notes app and opened a new entry, the title ‘Groceries’ quickly typed onto it out of habit—without a list they were bound to forget necessary things and regret it later on when it was time to cook. It was then she felt the gremlin energies radiating by her side, a side-glance given to the pink-haired girl that had slid to her side just as Nico spoke with her rare inner voice.
"Hey so, later I got some stuff to tell ya, remember?" The blonde couldn’t help the tilt of her head, the enthusiasm radiating from the pinkette almost palpable, but for the life of Val she couldn’t remember what Nico was referring too—much less when she turned towards Dayeon and mentioned including the songstress too.
"Alright, then. Keep your secrets."
"Y-Yeah, that’s alright with me."
Hopefully she sounded convincing enough or, at the very least, perhaps Nico would mistake Val’s slight hesitation to the awkwardness that still lingered between Dayeon, Ari and her even after the last couple of weeks.
"Anyway, does any of you drive? Val? Nico?" Thankfully the oldest of the three was soon switching the topic, something that Val was silently thankful for before she modded in reply to the question posed.
"Mhmm, been driving since I was sixteen~" Granted that had been more out of necessity than anything else, her grandfather had already been at an age where his reflexes just weren’t what they used to be—and
Nonna had long since given up on driving a vehicle, always said she never liked the way Americans drove on the road.
"What about you, Dee?"
