"Oh, man...Azykia..."

It was hard not to look at the 'kid' with some pity, as Aroda now imagined that she really was losing all of her senses. There's experiencing new things, and then there's...not being able to experience anything because all of your senses are gone. That just sucks. No need for experimenting to learn that.

"I guess I should really speed up those plans for a hearing aid..."

And as she says as much, she snaps her fingers in her spare hand. Or at least, she tries do, doing the motion and everything with perfect muscle memory, but the sound that comes is more of a metallic tink. She doesn't dwell on it.

"Right, I almost forgot because of that crazy, but I do know something we can do. I was originally gonna ask if you wanted to come and do some tests, with me. Should make it easier for me to get past the idea stage for hearing aids and, whatever else. How about it?"

She asks the Azykia, her voice clearly sounding positive and hopeful. She's able to keep that up thanks to her related enthusiasm for just making anything with magitech, really.

It seemed her will to keep everything as light-hearted as possible for the time being didn't go unregistered, as Aroda kept her own spirits up with a forward progression from a sympathetic apology straight into logic and theorizing. "That would be great. Thank you, Aroda." She wore a smile that was more bitter than she had intended. "I appreciate your thoughtfulness, at the very least. It goes right back to saying that everyone in this game is a lot more kind than in the real world."

"That being said, it's not as though I didn't ask for struggles when I made my character. If anything, the world of Terrasphere is answering my wishes to a tee. Not that I won't miss the taste of cinnamon buns..." Actually, there was an awful lot that she wouldn't be able to experience now, in exchange for being able to experience the rare things that most people did not.

"Say, you don't happen to use any magic, do you, Aroda?"

"Magic? Well, like I've said...I think I've said it, anyways, but I can use aeromancy, yeah. I thought I might need electricity to power stuff...or shoot lightning."

Aroda pauses before trying to demonstrate her lightning powers, realizing with plenty of time that she and Azykia are still wet and that's probably a bad idea. Though the idea does make her remember that she has demonstrated her sparky electric magic to Azykia before, so, she must already know that...

"I don't use any other kinds, since I just took magitech, 'cause it sounded cool, and ranged thingies, so I could use a gun. Seemed...easiest. With those two, I don't know if I need any other mastery that isn't magic...but I'm also not sure what kind of magic to try and get next, either. There's a lot to pick from, and I dunno what'd help most, you know?"

She tilts her head a bit in an unseen motion, as she also raises a brow.

"Uh, why do you ask?"

"Ah, right. My apologies, sometimes it's difficult to recall details from before the Red Fever outbreak. Truthfully, having another layer of senses to process makes remembering things more difficult in the first place..."

She put a curled finger to her chin as she thought a bit more about the prospect of her request. It would probably be very painful, and yet, what if it tasted good? This was something new to experience outside of the world that was her birdcage. "It's just that... I am a bit hungry still. I was wondering, since I can see magic, and I can smell magic... Would I not also now be able to taste magic?"

"I wonder if I can even eat magic...?" She thought aloud before looking back in Aroda's general direction. "But I'll not stall progress on this test you've been looking forward to. My own experiments can wait for later. Shall we?" She held out a hand for Aroda to hopefully and presumably take.

Aroda does take the Azykia's hand with her own still slightly cold robo hand, helping her to make her way away from the very wet table, then she wonders about what the girl was actually saying.

"Taste magic...? Well, yeah, that makes sense...but I don't really think I should shoot lightning into your mouth. That's probably...no, that's definitely really dangerous. Tongues are like...very conductive. Don't resist electric currents at all."

She states all this with some concern, before trying to quickly segue into other options.

"You can use a lot of magic, right? You can probably start there. ...Oh, and, I guess aeromancy isn't just lightning, huh? I could...see if magic wind tastes funny to you?"

All that said, she shrugs with a motion Azykia is probably familiar with thanks to their new hand holding contact, and continues speaking as she starts to walk with the girl, uttering a quick 'c'mon, let's go'.

"Either way...we can do some of your taste tests if you want, too. The stuff I have in mind was kind of in a similar vein, actually. I wanna see to what extent you can perceive the sort of magic effects I can make."

"Hmh. I see, so this works out in both of our favors." She let out a chuckle, though it sounded a bit condescending. Not that Aroda would know or be able to tell so easily, but it was certainly left over from her life outside of the game. "Very well, then. I'll act as both of our lab rats this afternoon. Actually," she looked up as she walked alongside the magia, minding the rain that would get through the umbrella once outside, "what time of day is it? I'm not used to being able to tell through the rain, but it feels like a muggy afternoon to me. Am I correct? That would be nice..."

With another effectual and somewhat snooty giggle, the girl got an idea to pass the time to somewhere drier than they were currently. Between her index finger and thumb, a thin square made of bright blue magic formed, and she carefully raised it to her mouth. Carefully, she pressed her teeth into it until a bite was taken out of it. After a while of slotting the thin chip around with her tongue, she dispersed the square in her hand, causing the piece in her mouth to disappear. "Hehehe. My, how interesting... I suppose I can't complain all too much. Or rather that I could, but I have chosen the more favorable option."

She looked slightly towards Aroda with a smirk. "I wonder, could you taste electricity? Like pressing a battery to your tongue in the outside world."

"The time...eh, late afternoon, probably?"

She says, pausing to maneuver her free hand to check her menus, taking a look mainly at the time.

"Yeah, that's about right."

The Aroda's robo eyes also observe Azykia as she tries eating a magic cracker, like some kinda Polly, with raised brow, but doesn't say anything about it. Instead, she gets a chance to react to Azykia's next question.

"Well...in the outside world, electricity tastes a little bit like 'pain'. Either pins and needles or just...stings and burning. I have a feeling that if there's enough to hurt, even if it has a taste it'll be hard to notice over the...pain."

Robot lady sighs a bit, imagining that Azykia will probably still try either way, but like, come on.

"Just don't electrocute yourself, okay?"

Aroda continues to walkk, and once they're getting outside, she uses her umbrella to protect the two from any further wetness.

"Anyways...is a room at the usual inn good enough for this, you think?"

"Well, that's the thing. I meant for you to try and taste, Aroda. Since you're practically a robot and all." The blind girl giggled. "But I would understand the aversion. Still, a weak enough current could be stomached even by me, I'm confident. Although your suggestion to use the air side of Aeromancy makes a little more sense to me after all."

"But yes, a room at the usual inn should be perfectly fine. Thank you for walking with me." Azykia remained quiet for the rest of the short trip if she had anything to say about it... which, obviously she didn't, but you know what I mean. As the duo got back, the inn lobby was crowded with landers and starcalled alike who were eating, drinking, and having fun complaining about the weather. Apparently the game had hit its popular hours, at least for the Honeyhome population.

As she became aware of how packed the place was, Azzy gripped Aroda's hand tighter so they wouldn't get separated before getting to the room.

"Me? Well...I hardly feel my own lightning magic. I'm not sure if someone else's would be a different story, but I'm pretty sure it would. I don't remember seeing anything saying I'm immune to lightning, or something."

Aroda, once they arrive at the big usual inn place, pauses by the entranceway, briefly releasing the Azykia so she can shake off her umbrella and fold it back up. As soon as the umbrella is safely vanished into the magical inventory system, she reaches down and nudges Azykia's forearm again to get a hold of her hand.

"Right, well..."

She holds a bit as she looks around at the crowded ass place, surprised at just how many people were...sitting around. Did anyone get on this game to actually play it? Who'd let a little rain stop 'em in a virtual world? Maybe Aroda would be able to start selling umbrellas, since nobody seemed to have one...

Regardless, with the room being crowded, Aroda reciprocates the slight tightening of her grip on Azykia's blind ass hands, though not too tight, since she's still a bit worried about her metal hands breaking things. She leads them carefully, being mindful of the space the Azykia she's leading is taking up, further inn to the inn.

"Did you still have a room? Or do we gotta get one?"

She asks down at the little one, raising her voice slightly above the noise inn the inn.

"It seems I still have my room." She replied, sounding about as certain as she was. "I believe someone carried me to Honeyhome after the Red Fever incident and paid for my room. In that sense, I'm sure that I have it, but not for how long." She felt at the inside of her yukata and withdrew her key once they got to her door--the fifth on the right. Surely the person who brought her here, then, was...

Azykia frowned just a bit as she carefully unlocked the door to welcome both herself and Aroda inside.

"So, this experiment of yours. I've been quite excited to see what comes of it since you first mentioned it however long ago that was." The girl stood patiently and politely with her hands in front of her lap. "And yet more, flattered that you would be so inspired by my state of being that you would create something because of it. So, without further adieu, what exactly is it?"

Aroda makes sure the door is secured, then scratches at her head lightly.

"Well, don't have your expectations that high. It's nothing fancy, I just gotta, get a feel for what you can feel...y'know?"

She explains slowly as she leads the Azykia farther into her room, but she's not super dry herself yet, so she doesn't wanna set the probably still wet Azykia on any furniture, or start using any electricity magic.

"First thing's first...I think I'm gonna try and dry us off. With...air magic. So, two birds, one stone here, right? I blast a bunch of wind everywhere, and then you can tell me...what you could, perceive, and such. Sound good?"

The robot asks, already trying out a bit of wind on a smaller scale between her hands, testing to see how much she can make and how much effort it takes...and also to see if she can make the air warm. Like a hand dryer, except, applied as like, a wind tunnel. Results are mostly room temperature.

With everything explained, testing done, and Azykia presumably fine with it, Aroda gets to blasting air to dry the wetness - first on herself, to make sure it wasn't too unpleasant and get everything down right, then on the Azykia.

Azykia patiently waited for what she eventually deduced to be 'her turn' and watched as the wind whipped around Aroda. Aeromancy was perhaps one of the flashier magics to see with her blind eyes, as it tended to present itself in the form of a semi-transparent miasma, but also one that whipped around like the rainbow effect of the Sailor Moon transformation. Just, not quite as colorful or shaped like a woman.

As well, she had smelled it before, but in tandem with a lot of other magics at the demon's corpse incident. "How pleasant. I've noticed this scent before, but without being so overpowered by so many others, it's quite soothing." The girl smiled and put her arms out for her turn, adjusting to help the Aeromancy work. At the end, the room would probably need to be dried off a little, but that was fine.

"The taste, though... It reminds me ever so slightly of perfume. I'm not sure how to feel about it." She spoke at a calm volume despite being blow-dried.

"Huh? Perfume? ...Do you often taste perfume? I doubt it's a very healthy option..."

Aroda answers once she's finally done blow drying, since it wasn't actually too difficult for her to hear Azykia, but it probably wasn't the other way around, since Azykia was the one with air blasting through her entire being as well as her ears. Her answer, of course, doesn't sound totally serious.

"It's good for you, that you know the smell and...taste...now. But how does it look, to you? 'Cause air magic is something I can't even really see."

She pauses, crossing her arms with a hum, before speaking back up once more to clarify,

"Alright, well, more specifically...I wanted to know how it looks to you when I do something specific with it, not necessarily, when I was just, blasting a bunch of air at you. So..."

With another brief pause, this time so she can get some magic going, Aroda summons up more air. This time, it's more like a single burst, almost like a wall of wind, a wind wall, a Yasuo W if you will, but rather than one wall, it pulses out around her, the burst staying mostly uniform until each side of it hits an obstacle and disperses. From the walls, to the ceiling, to the Azykia standing next to her - though getting 'hit' by the wall feels more like walking in front of a fan for a split second, there isn't much force behind it.

"What's that look like?"

"Well, it's not as though I can say I've never accidentally gotten it on my tongue, when I was younger." Azykia gave a playful smile, bringing a loose fist to her mouth as her eyes looked to wherever there was still magic swirling about. "Younger than this, even. At least I think so. I'm not actually sure how old I am exactly."

"Visually speaking," she went right back to the meat of the matter, "air magic tends to overlap as though it's see-through, like a colorful glass miasma."

The wall of color brushed past her in a snap, giving her long hair a few more tangles as a result, and she turned to watch as it dispersed. "And it leaves like a flame running out of fuel. Like a wall of color that disperses into the air once its shackles are let off." She blinked a couple times. "How sad."

"Oh well. Was that a satisfying enough description, or is there something in particular you were hoping to hear?"

"Well I think the main thing is, can you see it well enough to tell where it stops? And...what it stops against?"

Aroda asks, quite curious, as she tries puffing a bit more of her air at the far wall of the room.

"Ah, and is it easier to see through when the wind is...weaker? Or thinner? You said it's like colorful glass, but...ah. I guess, it would be hard to tell if it's easy to see through when...you can't see anything else."

Not waiting for answers this time, she keeps the rhythm going, giving Azykia yet more to respond to when she posts next week.

"Okay new things - what does this look like,"

She asks as she creates another mini lightning show, electricity arcing between her fingers and down her arm,

"And then, is it different enough from this that you can tell how easy it is to see it through the...wind?"

She asks as she now creates another, more stationary wall of idle winds, between her and Azykia.

"Well, it certainly isn't as colorful when it's very thin, and you can kind of see it through itself depending upon how the magic is trying to take hold of it." Azzy was hit once more with an ouching gust of wind, wishing she had been able to brush out her hair and tie it up before agreeing to this experiment. At least she was helping Aroda accompish something here.

"Your lightning is indeed different. If I had to say so, it's quite bright. It almost darkens the air I'm seeing it through even when you're merely letting off sparks." The girl gave a grin as close to 'at Aroda's face' as she could glean from where all this magic spamming was coming from. "I don't suppose you have a spell that would brush my hair for me, since you've already whipped the water out of it, would you?"

She gave a slight grin, less characteristic of the Azykia Aroda used to know, but definitely in line with the girl of today. Maybe that time away from the game had changed her, or maybe it was her time in Terrasphere that had done it. After all, that was a thing, wasn't it? Spending a lot of time logged in could affect people's mind in the real world. Maybe it was even both.

"I suppose what you'd like to know most of all is that I can quite easily see through thin air, and less easily through thick air."

Aroda huffed a bit following all of this testing. She wasn't really sure if all of this would let her make anything that worked, but it was good to have a little data regardless. Though...

"...No, I don't have magic that brushes your hair. I do have a couple brushes, though. Or...I could make your hair stand on end, all static-y like. "

Regardless of Azykia's answer, Aroda would soon get another thought. She began to try to work through how, exactly, she'd get it done, as she brings a non-electrified metal hand to her chin, stroking it as she thinks.

She flexed her other hand a bit, letting the magic die down, but keeping just a trace of the electricity there in her fingers. At best this much would result in a mild static shock if she poked someone, but she stared at it all the same.

As she thinks, without supplying more magic, the electricity fades. And so she finally decides to try her next thing.

"So...can you make anything out from this, Azykia?"

As she runs a similarly weak, but stronger than the prior 'static' that had just faded, amount of electricity, covering her whole body. Her body's selective magnetism lets her keep the magic charges clinging to herself directly, leaving her entire form clad in a solid, but imperceptible static field. Imperceptible to most, anyways.

"Oh...god this feels weird. Ehh..."

She mutters with a final shudder.

The blind girl grinned and put a finger to her lower lip. "Worry not, for I have a spell for brushing my hair." After giggling for a bit, she went back to giving Aroda her full focus as the magia's lab rat.

The other woman would be able to see Azzy's eyes focus on her and look her over up and down a few times. "Interesting. So you're sending your magic all throughout your body. I've met someone else who does that quite frequently. So then, if I'm not mistaken, this would be your electricity magic, wouldn't it?"

She took the moment to form a brush in her hand using Arcanamancy and began to comb through her long hair slowly, lock by lock. She was a bit cross to finally remember just how long her hair was. She really should have gotten it cut by now, but people kept calling it pretty, and as shallow of a reason was all that was really needed.

"Mmmmmmhmm..."

Aroda murmurs her affirmative response, fairly drawn out like. It sounds more like she's drawing it out through some discomfort than having any kind of sass about it.

"Close enough...anyways. Put magic all around me...then stuck it close. With magnets. It feels...real weird. Guessing you can at least see the shape of 'me' though, right? ...How detailed...does it look, to you?"

As she asks, she pauses there to shudder a bit, drawing her arms in like she's got the good ol' heebie jeebies.

"Egh...I guess pins and needles is a lot better than getting zapped..."

She continues to mutter to herself in the moments between receiving correspondence from her partner in crime, here.

"Right...I guess, I'm just trying to see...what it takes for you to see...what. How much magic to see a general picture, how much to see detailed outlines...stuff like, that. ...I doubt I could make a device that does this to people...but, I figured, I could still show you...how I look! Maybe. Eughgh."

More shudders. Being covered in static electricity wasn't her brightest move, but to be fair, it was nowhere near the least thought out course of action taken in this thread so far.

Azykia was taken aback by Aroda's comment as she paused brushing her hair to consider the form in front of her. She wasn't trying to leave out important information, but now that she remembered...

"Right. Forgive me. I haven't been online in a while, so I forgot to mention: the source of the magic seems to affect its vibrancy and visibility more than how much of it there is. I've seen powerful mages who remind me of staring into the sun, and I've seen an entire stretch of road layered with an amazingly hard to miss fog of tranquilizing magic. In other words, the sparks on your fingers would be enough to blind me if you were a developed enough magic caster."

She began brushing again, though most of her attention given had been at the ends of her hair. The girl gave Aroda a smile. "If it makes you feel any better, your thoughtfulness isn't totally in vain. I can certainly make out your form. Impressively well, even."
