Though a bit bitter, Mio ended up nodding along. Trouble was debatable, trouble would imply something happened or she was caught in some sticky situation maybe, but Mio was always in trouble with money, it was the unfortunate reality of coming from a struggling household, from a struggling neighborhood. "Yeah, it's never too good but that's at least how I manage to make the big bucks to survive and stay in school." Mio explained somewhat dryly. She wasn't necessarily proud of it, but it was for that reason she was always desperate for game loot gold or items, those things could always be sold to the richer people playing the game allowing her to eat and stay in school as opposed to being forced into a cycle of struggle and pass that on to her kids. While art probably wasn't the most lucrative major either, it was one she was most experienced in as a child who had only drawing and painting without toys or games.

Though the talk of a magitech unicorn made her frown, squinting even in thought. "Unicorn... Mm, not much room for add-ons but." Mio mused in thought. While she certainly favored designs like the liger or lizards or even birds and fish, she still tried, this time using a glob of ink to try and manufacture a replica for Ronja, steadily sculpting and carving with the sharpened claws used for drawing. By the time she finished, she offered Ronja both options with a bright smile. "Something like this? I'm a little less familiar with horses but something with modular parts I think would benefit you most. The important part though, would be not to settle on a single thing. If you needed a Hawk you could try a hawk, or a fish you could do a fish too, something like this Unicorn though would probably be your basic ride." Mio spoke with a bright smile. Certainly she expected this to be within Ronja's move set. That was how Mio sort of threw it together making sure it was something that Ronja could do with her skills even if it was a little limited with her level of ability.

If Ronja seemed worried about her ability with it though, Mio would try to cheer her up with a pat. "The important part is making a framework now, doing what you can with what you have. Maybe a baby unicorn, or a smaller thing, and gradually work towards unicorn? Like a... pony... corn?" Mio hesitated wondering what one would call a small unicorn for Ronja uncertain if the suggestion was good at all

Ronja's lips pursed at the mention of surviving and staying in school. Despite her whole condition that she couldn't really escape, one thing that Ronja couldn't really complain about was that she would have warm food and bed everyday. It would reach a point in her life that she would need to survive every day as if it was her last, but she knew it wasn't the same as what Mio was probably going through.

Those words lingered in her mind for a while, just as Mio tried to make some replicas for her, which caught Ronja's attention and made her watch it intently.

She tilted her head, crossing her arms while analyzing both of them. "Ronja thinks she liked the red one more. She is a bit more of a clean type. Overly fancy would be a little bad to use." Ronja said, perking up. "Ronja can think about other animals too, but Ronja really always wanted to have a unicorn." Even if that meant the unicorn was a robot.

The mention of a small baby unicorn made her beam for a moment, but she quickly stopped and squinted.

"... You are telling Ronja to make a ponycorn because of her size, aren't you?" She pouted, letting out a sigh

The words from before, however, continued to bother her, to a point she finally mustered the courage.

"Can Ronja ask you something invasive?" She leaned in, just like Mio did before. "Where do you live?"

Mio nodded along offering her the inky sculpture, it wasn't worth much to her at least as she nodded along. To her a unicorn was a unicorn, there wasn't much difference from one or another, they were both aesthetically nice in the fox girl's eyes. "Mm, for now it's good to work on what you know and get settled on it definitely!" Mio tried to be encouraging and supportive since Ronja seemed like she'd be a good friend, there was no harm in this much right?

Though when Ronja pouted and mentioned size, Mio couldn't help cracking a wide grin even raising a hand to flick the girl's forehead in protest and retaliation. "I'm the same height as you stoopid." The girl joked with sweet laughter. After all Mio was only a couple inches taller then Ronja, they were close enough in height to be the same. Rather then it being a height issue though Mio just thought it might be because Ronja's stats probably weren't incredibly high and able to facilitate larger machinary. "You gotta start small if you're too weak you know? if you start with something big right off, that's a lot of surface area to cover." Mio spoke shrugging as if it couldn't be helped if she didn't follow her advice. It was why Mio kept her paintings small or simple for now.

When talking about invasive questions though, Mio tilted her head in thought, at first a little suspicious. After a while though she sighed softly leaning back in to whisper back. "America~" If Ronja wanted more details, Mio would give her a little, cautiously naturally she didn't want any way to connect her to reality too easily at least in case Ronja was a bad person and just pretending to be friendly.

"Then Ronja will work with that. Probably she could try to do a bit more of it when she gather some better material- Though... Maybe Ronja can summon materials with her mastery-" The Magia mused, opening her UI and peering at Magitech, Arcanamancy and Summon masteries. All of them mixed seemed like a decent combination to summon something like that without needing to build one from scratch.

Another pout crossed her lips when Mio cracked a grin and flicked her forehead, suppressing a squeak when it happened and rubbing her forehead. "Hey-" She hissed, then pausing and pondering about it. "Well... Yes... Ronja isn't strong at all right now. She almost died a few times too." Ronja admitted, knowing that she was a bit clumsy and putting herself in dangerous was a common occurrence.

Her eyes then shifted back to Mio, and as she whispered the answer, Ronja nodded and smiled faintly. "Alright. Ronja is in America too, she is from Germany though." She said, thinking it was just fair to answer the same. Honestly she wanted something more specific, but judging by Mio's answer, she wasn't willing to tell everything just yet.

After peeking at the wall, she whispered a question: "When should we leave?"

Tilting her head, Mio considered the prospect of summoning materials. Wincing even at the thought. "Mm, maybe if they were temporary... With just Arcanamancy though, those are projections you know? like temporarily made with magic kind of constructs. If you had geomancy you could maybe create stone or gems, or with Nature magic woods or natural products but..." Mio tried to be nice and not damage her dreams, but Mio thought it would be a long shot to summon permanent materials without a magic meant for that purpose.

Hearing that Ronja almost died though, it almost choked Mio up, a bit dry in her expression, she paled faintly before shaking her head. "Just... Try not to die in this game. It's more serious then you think-- super serious." Mio explained. If Ronja seemed worried, Mio would try not to explain, but if the girl insisted for her own safety Mio would relent and eventually offer with a great amount of hesitation. "If you die three times... your real body dies. I heard it from the Witch, she knew people who died. Those rumors are true, so be careful." Mio tried to offer with a bitter expression. After all she played the game for a better life, but you couldn't have that if you died trying.

Though trying to keep things positive and her spirits up. Mio nodded along reaching out a hand to pat her kindly. She could tell Ronja wanted more, but Mio had to be careful with her identity, her illegal activities as well as her lifestyle she was nervous about the wrong person knowing. "That's neat~ I'm from Mexico personally." Mio offered with a bright smile, though if Ronja still seemed to be wanting, Mio would bitterly offer a it. "We could hang out sometime if you want?" Maybe it was too much but at least it was better then telling where she was.

Though when asked if they could leave, Mio nodded glancing at the false wall. "Mm, we just need to make sure the patrol goes by first, and then either sneak away after or take them out and get the loot?" She murmured, uncertain which Ronja might be more interested in.

"Ronja will figure out something. When she manages to have her alchemy, maybe she will br able to mimic most of materials." Ronja said confidently, though she wasn't actually sure of what she would manage with that mastery. She couldn't say she wouldn't try, however. The greatest inventions were all done by trying and testing things out.

Mio's sudden reaction made Ronja blink surprised, staring at her for a bit and listening attentively to her words. Nothing of what she said were news to Ronja. Well, except the confirmation. It was the second person that had confirmed it to her, which meant that it had an even bigger degree of truth.

"Ronja doesn't mind." She said, with a less clumsy and bubbly expression. Having a somber smile on her lips instead. "Ronja has heard these rumors before. She is very aware." The somberness became cheerful again, looking at Mio warmly. "Thank you for worrying though, she is very fine. No deaths so far." She tapped her chest, a bit proudly.

Then, the mention of Mexico and hanging out brought another bittersweet feeling. "Hanging out would be hard, actually..." Ronja scratched her head. "Maybe someday we can arrange a meeting. Ronja has never met an online friend before!" She clasped her hands, soon widening her eyes and clenching her lips shut, hoping she hadn't been too loud.

Leaning in, she spoke quieter than ever.

"Ronja is fine with either. She isn't really experienced on those though-"

Alchemy was something Mio hadn't thought of. Tilting her head, she nodded along slowly, it was true Alchemy could make many materials through magic and components. It was true it was something within Ronja's skill set if that's the case. "I think it'd work with alchemy too, hehe." She admitted glad that Ronja was thinking about her masteries so much. It made her smile to see people specially friends working hard.

Feeling a little relieved that Ronja at least hadn't had to suffer. She'd heard terrible things, about dream demons and the game infecting one's real life, she couldn't help worry about just how bad it might be to suffer that kind of consequence. "Good though, we can go deathless together." She spoke proudly of the girl. While for Mio she didn't plan on taking grand risks if she didn't have to, while she wasn't sure if Ronja was the same, she at least was glad the girl hadn't eaten a loss yet.

The meeting did make her a bit on edge but she nodded along. "If you want to meet up, I wouldn't mind that." She spoke, thinking it would be easy to run if things looked dicy from afar. "I've met people a lot for things so far, so it's not too exciting, but I at least know how to show someone a good time for sure." She spoke with a wide smile. After all, Mio was a pretty outgoing and social person, while she was a bit cage-y in game, in reality it wasn't as if she hadn't experienced a variety of things she could introduce Ronja to since she seemed a bit more reclusive.

Though hearing that Ronja was fine with either, Mio didn't want to force or pressure the girl to fight for her life if she wasn't ready to. For a moment trying to muse before getting up and trying to help Ronja up to her feet as well. "For now we can just leave, if I need to I can come back down, taking care of you should be the priority right?" She asked winking with a grin trying to play the debonair rogue.

"Sure we can." Ronja giggled at going 'deathless'. As much as she didn't care, it would be wise to not die. Even if the girl had already given up on a lot of things in her life, there was still a vague lingering fear of the unknown that comes after it. Or even if there is anything after at all.

And if she did get stuck in the game. Would she still be she? That made her ponder, but soon her attention shifted back to her new friend.

"Alright. It may be a bit limited on what we can do, but Ronja can manage something. She has been feeling quite energetic lately." She chirped with a bubbly smile. Having her mood improved sure helped with her health.

"Wait, wait-" Ronja interrupted when Mio mentioned coming back down. She wouldn't want to make her to do all the work of going back all the way to that hideout again.

"Ronja... Let's fight then. We are already here, and fight will break out anyway if we get caught. Ronja think it is best to deal with them first." She said, then smiling briefly to Mio.

"Ronja trust that you will keep her safe, and she will try to help instead of getting on your way." Ronja said with a hand on her chest.

Mio still seemed a little worried about Ronja's energy reserves, largely because at times Mio didn't think she could protect herself let alone someone else. Despite that though if Ronja seemed willing to fight with her through the pirate claimed ruin, Mio wouldn't turn it down. After a few pensive moments of trying to gauge Ronja's condition, Mio finally exhaled and nodded along. "Okay, we can do it together, just try not to put yourself in a dangerous spot okay? We'll try our best to take them out with quick and sneaky ambushes or traps if we can." Mio offered thinking it might be best if the Pirates just died to one of her traps as opposed to trying to fight them all in honor duels.

Mio would try to coordinate a plan, rubbing her black stained hands together a bit more before approaching her false wall. "When you're ready we can start moving sneakily~" Mio spoke a bit brighter, the thought of sneaking around was always fun for the little rogue. When Ronja was ready she'd gently push her way through the false wall that crumbled silently like tissue paper returning to dusty clods as it almost seemed to disintegrate into ink dust when the magic was gone. Once they moved out of the alcove they'd been hiding in, that too would quickly crumble away becoming a small pile of black dust along the wall.

"Ronja won't put herself in danger, at least not willing." Ronja said, flickering her eyes as she nodded. Her energy may be low, but it would probably endure a while more if she knew how to save it properly.

The plan was to be sneaky, so soon Ronja took off her metal shoes, making them disappear and at least for now being bare feet. She hoped there wasn't any nails scattered around in the hideout, because stepping on anything sharp would be nasty now.

It took some effort from Ronja to recompose her balance when finaly getting to walk, something she could only hope to get used to as soon as possible for it to stop being a bother.

"Ronja is ready to go-" She nodded confidently, bracing herself for a long and quiet travel, filled with the excitement of adventure and danger.

"She is still a bit bad at the walking deal, but as long as she has something to support herself on, she should be fine." She thumbed up, resting a hand on a wall and following Mio's lead.

When Ronja took off her shoes, Mio tilted her head, understanding once she noticed the material, but thinking it might be troublesome to be barefoot in a dirty pirate's nest Mio thought it might be risky business. Reaching down, with her ink stained hands, she'd place her hands on the girl's ankles staining them black until it ran down her feet making black shoes. They might not feel the most comfortable, like wearing jelly filled trash bags, but they were better then stepping on sharp corners, rocks or odds or ends when sneaking. "Okay~ Let's go." Mio tried to offer as long as Ronja wasn't dissatisfied. If Mio had Arcanamancy she could at least create real shoes but she wasn't there just yet.

When they finally managed to come across bandits, Mio nibbled her bottom lip glancing back to Ronja placing a finger on her own lips to gently warn her before peeking around a corner. "There's a pair over there." She whispered softly to Ronja. They could hear voices of casually approaching pirates farther around the corner. Mio pulled her sleeves back getting ready to ambush, winking at Ronja as she gradually counted down for the girl using her fingers so she knew when to jump out and charge together.

Ronja's eyes clicked in surprise at the ink being used on her ankles, but as soon as she realized what it was for, she beamed at Mio with a warm smile. "Thanks!" She said joyfully. Not that she would mind walking around without shoes, but at least that would help her to not get all dirty.

Following Mio, Ronja made sure to hurry her steps as silently as she could, activating her Investigation Mode to scan the area and look for clues.

She could spot some foot prints that were barely visible at naked eye, with traces of alcoholic sweet drink scattered around, which showed that probably someone was wandering around and drinking... Perhaps a pair? Maybe they were just having fun and-

Soon she stopped, being wary about Mio's reveal and nodding eagerly at the woman.

When she started counting down, Ronja couldn't help but fidget excitedly. Some ass kicking was going to happen... And just out of nowhere, Ronja unzipped her bag and used her arcanamancy to quickly assemble a rifle, bracing herself for it.

Mio exhaled a breath, seeing Ronja bringing out a rifle, Mio couldn't help breaking out in a cold sweat. She tried to stress, if the gun was loud, something quiet would be best. Worried she might be blasting something earth-shakingly loud. Whether her warning mattered or not though, Mio still had to move.

Ronja would be able to see Mio's style as she advanced, walking along down the hall where the pirates were coming from, Ronja would be able to see Mio on the floor a small floor, it was narrow and precisely drawn, intricately creating lines and shading on the stone floor using her ink. As Ronja watched, Mio's make up around her eyes would thicken into black rings, and her tails would multiply, from one to three and from three to five tails as the lines gradually disappeared leaving a trap behind. She'd then try to hide in another false wall, flashing a thumbs up at Ronja before she disappeared into a wall.

Of course, when the Pirates approached, they'd finally be able to see, drinks in hand chatting about their last job and the excitement of it. They seemed half drunken already from their low HP but as they approached, the moment one set foot on Mio's drawing, it suddenly crumbled away creating a deep hole that caught the pirate off guard. The sound of yelling could be heard for a short while during the fall before a brutal and wet sounding crack. The sound of someone struggling to gasp or take in a breath could be heard, but in the end never managed to finish before passing. The other pirate, stunned purely from the fact that the man he'd been talking to suddenly disappeared into the floor. Looking in he saw the pirate had fallen into a pit of spikes... He didn't even know these traps were in the Ruin! How long had it been there?!? While the confusion hadn't settled, Ronja had a good moment to attack

Ronja watched Mio's actions excitedly, wondering how she managed to do all that with the inks she had available to herself. However that worked, Ronja could only hope that someday her magitech would allow her to have anything remotely good like hers.

The concern on Mio's expressions before she left, however, was obvious enough for Ronja to understand what she was worried about. But Ronja could only smile to her, knowing very well what she was doing.

Mio was expecting Ronja to be using your everyday powder rifle, but Ronja's rifle was a magitech one, powered up with magic and using arcane projectiles as bullets. There was no explosion or sound involved, all that it involved was her sharp aim.

Taking a good position, Ronja stared intently at the target, pressing the trigger twice, with a bullet piercing the startled's pirates leg and then another on his shoulder, hoping to give some extra cover to Mio.

Despite being struck twice, the pirate seemed to brace himself, gritting his teeth in pain as he stumbled to grab his weapons for a combat.

Seeing Ronja take her shots, at first Mio was ready to relax and think everything was fine, but the surviving Pirate made her worried. Seeing the man reach for a weapon, Mio bit her lip and stepped out instead to try and protect Ronja. Mio braced herself for some kind of blow, but as the pirate ran forward to try and attack, he'd only bump into Mio, almost rolling over her when she came out of her hiding spot before falling into the hole after the other pirate. Though knocked down, she didn't really take any damage. Blinking at the stroke of luck she grinned brightly and flashed a thumbs up to the girl down the hall with a rifle. "Got him?" She asked jokingly as if not sure who the kill would count for on a score board. Not that it was important but she hoped it would lighten the mood after the attack almost got off.

Trying to dust herself off, she got a bit dirty from rolling around in the dirt but at least she wasn't hurt badly. "I'm good! It shouldn't be too much further if we're coming across drunk guards like this. They all probably wouldn't be that bad right?" She asked almost blinkingly, after all one of them seemed so clumsy they died from the trap even when it hadn't targeted them.

Ronja readied another shot just in case, watching the pirate going for reckless abandon toward them. There was a vague worry in Ronja's chest, but soon Mio took the vanguard and struck the pirate down with ease, making Ronja slip a sigh and rest a hand on her chest, looking at the other girl.

"Ronja thinks you were the one that got him. Ronja didn't manage to kill him off." She chuckled with a shrug.

"She needs to aim better next time," Ronja said, then nodding. "Yeah, as long as all of them are drunk, Ronja is sure everything will go smoothly." She beamed, a moment before they managed to continue their path deep into the pirate's hideout.

Ronja continued to wander, with her eyes flickering as she looked around with her Investigation mode activated.

With her magitech and Magia nature, she could easily discern particularities of artificial buildings, and it was when a particular spot that seemed to be a secret entrance was simply outlined by her Investigation mode.

Ronja blinked surprised, nudging Mio before approaching the wall. "A door?" Ronja knocked it twice, letting out a surprised sigh. "It is a door!"

It was bulky and made out of stone, pretty much a boulder as a door, and it probably had an easier way to open it, but--

"Heeere we goooo--" Ronja held on it tightly, letting out a grunt before using her Magia's strength to simply move the door out of the way, with the heavy sound of the door being dragged on the floor being the only thing that could catch anyone's attention, but so far it didn't feel like it was the case.

When the path was opened, it seemed like a shortcut, and Ronja looked at Mio with a grin.

Mio shook her head, knowing she couldn't really take credit for it either since the man tripped over her into the hole. "It looked more like he got himself." Mio couldn't help laughing at the oddity of it all. It was dumb luck but Mio wouldn't argue with fate at that point, the man's destiny seemed to be set in stone.

Though when she found the boulder, Mio hesitated at first, not quite as aware but seeing her move it and the passage behind, she stepped forward to try and help the best she could. Putting her back into trying to move the cover to help until it was finally pushed aside. "Nice one~ Hopefully we can get through faster now, you're really good at this sorta thing huh?" She complimented with a bright smile.

Even as she went into the tunnel though, the sounds of pirates again could be heard. This time unlike the others that seemed to drunkenly be patrolling, this one was in the middle of trying to take a whiz in the middle of the walk way. Almost reflexively, Mio shook her head not wanting to see such a thing take place. Before the pirate could try she'd try to move a hand to a wall to try and draw a button on the wall the best she could in a quick manner.

Once the button was drawn, she slapped a hand on the wall to cause a chain reaction. The reaction created a slot in the wall that opened shooting out a heavy brick at the man, one, then another both clapping him in the face. Despite her efforts though it didn't quite finish the man off making her flash a bitter smile. "Oopsies~" She would murmur glancing to Ronja, with a wink thinking the girl would still have her rifle and hopefully take the pirate out before it retaliated.

Ronja beamed at the compliment. "Ronja's investigation mode is really good for some reason!" She chirped with a giggle, following Mio's lead into the new found path.

Spotting the new pirates, Ronja couldn't help but frown at the severe lack of hygienics in the cave, averting her face before Mio decided to take the initiative of attacking.

The bricks hitted hard, but the man was so numb because of the drunkness that he didn't quite register he should've fainted. Instead, he yelled something incomprehensible, charging toward Mio and making Ronja wide her eyes open in surprise at the reckless abandon.

Pulling out the safety, Ronja took a quick glance at her Energy.

There was still plenty.

"Lock and loaded." Ronja muttered, charging her rifle with mana, allowing a cyan steam to escape from its barrel as it heated up magically, with crackles surrounding it before the energy bullet erupted from it, hitting the pirate's chest and knocking him away from Mio just in time.

Breathing a sigh, Ronja hurried closer to Mio.

"Are you okay?" Ronja asked worriedly even if the pirate didn't even have proper time to react.

Seeing the pirate brought down, Mio couldn't help sighing heavily with relief. Nodding back to Ronja with a dry smile, she was fine, if a little traumatized. "Oh thank god you got him, I didn't want to get stabbed and also get pee on me. That would've been horrible." She spoke not wanting to think about having to spend time covered in blood and grossness. She tried to dust herself off and push the thought and fear from her mind giving the man a brief kick to make sure he was out.

"I need to get better at sneak attacks, or maybe I was so grossed out I rushed the attack." She spoke, thinking her last attempt was perhaps a bit weak considering they caught it off guard, she was glad Ronja was able to protect her with her mis-fire. Though as she tried to step deeper in to explore where the short cut took them, she was a bit more relieved. "It shouldn't be too much farther now before we get to the heart of their camp. There should at least be something nice for us to take nearby." She murmured, but her only evidence was the fact that the deeper they went in there was less broken bottle glass and more living arrangements

After a bit more wandering deeper in, as they crossed into the territory of sleeping quarters and bedrolls, Mio was a bit more tense. Since no one was there now it was clear the others were likely out doing something whether patrolling or having some kind of weird pirate fun it seemed. "See anything?" She asked Ronja in a soft whisper, there was one pirate in the distance but not quite upon them yet.

"Ronja got you~" The Magia nudged Mio with a smile, happy to see that she was fine, then peeking at the further path that Mio mentioned to be near to the end. "Got it, in this case Ronja thinks we should be fine... Her HP is still intact, and there is still plenty of energy left, as long as Ronja doesn't exaggerate." And it was turning out that she was needing to do the bare minimum to keep up.

As they neared the dormitory area, Ronja tried her best to stay quiet, and upon Mio's question, she peered around only to finally spot a certain individual from afar.

"Ronja can see another target," Ronja said with a muttering, charging her rifle with arcane bullets and holding her breath while aiming at the pirate before pulling the trigger.

However, the man was vaguely lucky, turning his head away from the danger line by turning the bottle of rum for a chug, that was quickly pierced by the arcane bullet, making it shatter on his face and hand, pricking him with the shards of glass that made him wince and hiss a curse out of surprise and pain- Albeit he was still alive.

Noticing the danger, Ronja clicked her tongue and her skintight suit morphed slightly, releasing a small propelling construct that soon attached to Mio's back, charging while Ronja empowered her friend with her own mana.

It was at the cost of draining part of her own energy, but hopefully it would prove to be worth in long term.
