Task: Showing off
Location: SA2 —> R50 (Trap room)
State: Normal

Celestine stood over the man, the bag he’d planned to stuff her in lying by his side as he struggled to stand. Her ringed hat spun menacingly above him, applying such an intense gravitational pressure, his own body was pinning him to the ground.

"Now, why were you trying to do me a bag, exactly…?" she asked, politely, but with an unveiled threat in her tone. She wasn’t about to show this kidnapper any sympathy.

"P-p-please…! I was j-just paid to take you…"

"Do me the taking where?"

"They c-c-call it the Warrior’s Gauntlet! It’s a giant arena to t-test your strength!"

"Oh?" Cel smiled. "That is doing itself the sounding of the fun, actually~"

Celestine didn’t receive too many arguments when she requested to be let in, though she received a few strange looks from the gatekeepers. Weren’t most contestants kinda… unwilling? Ah well, fresh meat was fresh meat. Plus, this one looked like she’d be incredibly fun to watch.

… Indeed, "fun to watch" was pretty much everything Maya had ever wished for Celestine’s character.

And so, she smiled as she stepped through the gates, and was then lowered down a deep hole into the dungeon below. Where one saw musty walls and foul smells, Celestine saw a canvas, and she had oh-so-much paint to use.

Stepping forth into the next room, she noticed several less-than-subtle dart traps. How quaint. Instead of simply stepping around them, she danced forward, weaving illusions as she went. No longer was she dancing through the darts, but instead waltzing through a field of stars, as deadly comets narrowly missed her. And as soon as the show had begun, it ended, and she stood at the opposite door, letting the illusion fade.

Orn finished off the giant fish with ease, and the rest of his small party followed suit into the next room. But as they all enter he noticed that the room turned brown, and a giant horde of what looked to be Gnolls, and a large group of players seemed to come from another doorway. Soon a giant fight started, and he was left to stay in the back to try and find an opening.

They seemed to be trying to hype up one another, a low chant reverberating from their throats as they clanged their weapons against the ground. Even though they seemed preoccupied with this, their defenses were still high, taking bits of damage but also attacking the other players with ferocity

"Damn, where's the opening.." He muttered to himself, slinking and scurrying around the edges of the combat zone and waiting patiently for his time to attack. The new players bobbed and weaved, attacking at the openings they found but getting attacked back. He was a tad nervous, but he knew that he would have to take a gamble and go for a critical. The largest of the bunch was focused on another one of the players, and he saw his chance.

Quickly, he sprinted up and shot an arrow attached to a rope into the ceiling. Gaining momentum in a circular motion, he spun and lifted off the ground a few feet, giving him a higher vantage to attack. He then used his shadow arts to cut the rope, sending him flying at a creature and grew his shadow beneath him as a pillar, giving him a small footing and leaping high above the large creature's head.

Grabbing the sheathed dagger he owned, he aimed true and stabbed the creature right in it's eye, the shadow's stabbing the eye in a frenzy as they touched the rough skin. The creature roared in pain, and grabbed him, lifting him with ease and throwing him onto the ground, the marble-like substance cracking from the weight of the blow. The air in Orn's lungs leaving as quick as they entered, and he laid there, dazed and confused as to what his orientation was in the room, all he knew is that the roof was above him, and his body screamed in pain from the floor below him

Despite his attempts to keep the horde at bay, It wasn't long before he was finding himself on the back foot of their assault, forcing him to sidestep, duck and even swerve out of the direction of their attacks. They were pressing him so hard that he couldn't even materialized his Odachi. It was a problem to be sure but at least they couldn't land a finger on him. For what felt like forever though, as If time itself had been frozen, It was basically all he could for the time being. With no openings for him to attack, with one with covering the other, these Gnolls were surprisingly highly intelligent in their moves, which rung some interesting questions to be sure but as they were keeping him on his toes, he would forgo those questions for now. Luckily for him, It wasn't long before the cavalry arrived, diverting many of the Gnolls from his position towards them. This allowed him to momentarily catch his breath, but in doing so, by the time he returned his attention back towards who had arrived, he was left in horror as his companions began to get overrun. Not wanting to see his companions get slaughtered, he immediately reignited the focus, rematerialized his blade, and was about to throw himself into the battle, only to be stopped when he was met with a series of terrifying roars.

Status:
  • [Ecstatic]. Warning, the enemy is extremely excited, at capturing potentially new sources of food and more slaves, greater damage incoming now!
  • Attack: The Gnoll Horde is counterattacking with a unified charge! Retaliation damage is doubled for this posting cycle.
    1. If the SP is at 500 or less, The Gnoll Horde will cancel it's hyped up counter attack.
    2. If the SP is at 0, The Gnoll Horde will temporarily be routed for one posting order, allowing those to attack without taking retaliation damage
    3. If the HP ranges from 1,813 to 1,000, by the time of the next posting order, characters take double retaliation damage(40 for normal damage, 80 for vulnerable damage)
    4. If the HP is at 999 or less, The Gnoll Horde will cancel it's hyped up counter attack.
  • The Gnoll Horde will only counterattack once
  • If your HP falls to 0, you are NOT KILLED but knocked out and thrown in a crudely made, bone like cage. You do not take damage while captured. In order to escape, you must pass a knack, awareness or knowledge check of 50. If successful, regain 10% of your maximum HP. A character may attempt to free you but they may not perform an action for that post.
  • HP and SP for this enemy count down.
  • Standard TS Gnoll mechanic's apply. Check the google doc or the TS Wikipedia for more information
  • As with all other spice, these mechanic's are purely optional, feel free to ignore them
Caught off guard by the sudden roars, he ended up covering his ears to protect himself, forcing him to drop his blade. When the roaring finally stopped however a few moments later and he opened his eyes, he found himself beyond baffled. Not only had all the Gnolls regrouped at the center of the room but they made a unified charge against the others, as If they were functioning cohesive military unit. This left him even more intrigued but atlas, now really wasn't the time to get distracted. Returning to his trusted senses, he quickly observed the room to better determine his next move, to probably launch a counter offensive of his own, but before he could give it much thought, he could hear the screaming and whining of his companions, compelling to turn in their direction, only to realize they were being overwhelmed. With wide eyes and grit teeth, he immediately grabbed Murasama and took off towards @Kyra Vashtana, @Ornthalas and @Harper. Bolting through the horde with all the haste he could muster, he swerved, ducked and leaped through the countless waves of Gnolls with great grace as a near untouchable white glint.

Upon making it at the last moment, just as Kyra and Ornthalas were about to be overwhelmed by more than a dozen Gnolls, he immediately threw himself in front of her, to shield her from harm, leaving him open to attack. Despite his instincts telling him to run, to make a tactical withdraw, he choose to disregard his own safety when he dropped Murasama to the ground once again and instead stretched his arms out in a horizontal fashion. Almost instantly, the flat palms of his hands began glowing a lime green color. Moments later, large, thick energy barriers of the same color appeared before Ornthalas and Harper to protect them from harm while he himself had no choice but to use his own body to protect Kyra, having no other means to spawn another barrier. As a result, after taking several hits aimed towards her, he immediately fell to one knee but kept up his arms to keep up the barriers, determined to keep his comrades alive.

Go....go regroup with the others.....while you still have the chance....

With trails of blood running down his chin and the back of his yukata now beginning to turn red after taking on a few wounds to his back, he initially choked on his own blood before spitting it out towards the ground. Well If he was gonna go out like this, he supposed It wasn't the worst way to go out, even If It wasn't his preference. Still, It would make his Lioness proud, knowing she would have done the same thing. Of course though, like last time, he and the others would find themselves at the mercy of the announcers, those two voices he couldn't stand.

Oh what's this? The "Black" Duke caring for others? Oh isn't that just precious!

Chuckling very loudly, as If amused by his own words, It was followed by a question from his companion.

Do you suppose the big ol monster had a change of heart?

Despite having been asked a question, Rolu only continued to chuckle, clearly still amused by what he and the spectators were watching. Once he calmed down slightly, as evident by his chuckling, he continued, only this time, he focused his attention on @Kyra Vashtana again.

Ah come on miss cowardly fox! Surely that's not the best your anger can muster right? Because the big ol scary duke just took over a dozen hits for you!

Barbera than followed up with her comment.

Rolu dear, perhaps she's just weak? Do you think she would make a good breeding pet? Beastkins make great breeders!

Laughing at her own words in her usual, obnoxious way, you could hear Rolu sighing in the background.

Barbara.....Have you ever realized that perhaps your a deviant?

Despite the clear insult, Barbara only continued her annoying laughter.

Non sense Rolu! You just don't have a appreciation for Beastkin like I do!

Rolu sighed again, clearly not amused.

Riiiggghhhhtttt....

Ignoring Rolu's interjection, Barbara again turned her attention to @Harper.
Harper dear! Would you do me a favor and let yourself be captured? I promise it to make it worth your awhile......Oh don't give me that face missy! I would never use a precious, exotic beauty like yourself for more notorious purposes! I swear! Unlike your weak, angry fox companion over there. She be perfect for breeding!

While Rolu lets out another disappointing sigh, Barbara continues pm, this time on @Herculean Drakecon.

Hercule dear, would you be a absolute treat and pull on that lever located on the wall?

Once Barbara points it out, you see a near broken lever on the wall from across the room. Do you pull the lever and play the game of chance? Or do you play it safe?(This will activate SPICE)

Deciding Barbara had enough fun, he interrupted her before she continue, this time aiming his attention towards @Ornthalas and @Ronja Bubblyfoot

I don't know about you folks but Ornthalas isn't holding up his side of the contract! Come on Ornthalas! What's the point of us paying you If your not gonna torture Ronja Bubblyfoot for us?

Both announcers laughed at the same time but as usual, Barbara was the first to speak this time.

I'm sorry Ronja dear but I have special plans for you. Be a good girl and let it happen alright? I promise you even love it in time! Trust me dear!

Task: Engaging Gnoll Horde
Location: Brown Room 6 (Mob Room)
Status: Soaked, Furious, Protected
(20 HP from Retaliation damage)

The shrieking of the horde had Kyra covering her ears in pain, a frustrated growl erupting from her lips as she bowed slightly in pain. Eyes squinted shut, her hearing returned in time to hear the jostling of the announcers, declaring things that had gone beyond her understanding at first.

"Breeding..did they just say they want to breed...Oh, oh no. I've had enough of this shit."

Straightening herself upright, she looked around her. Numerous individuals had come together in order to face the horde, slashing away at those nearby. At first, it had seemed impressive. Now it appeared almost desperate to Kyra, and as she watched, she felt a burning sensation deep within herself.

"By the blood of my blood, that which I give willingly, succumb not and correct those around me who have been injured. Blood of my blood, that which I give willingly, bring them back from the brink, so that they may curse those who stand against us."

She stared upwards as she spoke, taking her scythe and slashing across the palm of her hand. The blood began to drip out, stopping just before hitting the floor as she called forth the magic within her. Twirling the flow around her, she forced the tendrils out towards those near her, wrapping them in the fluid and causing the wounds they had received to clot over, covering them in a protective coating that slowly transformed into their own flesh and blood.

"Blood of my blood, hear this now, I call upon you to restore those who suffer, to prepare us to severe those who mistreat us."

Her voice went calm as she continued to glare upwards, looking for any sign of the announcers above them. She wasn't sure if they were there or not, not that it mattered to her. Instead, she muttered out one final phrase, before returning her attention to the horde before them.

"Tremble in fear as you await your fate...I'll be up soon enough. Pray you aren't there when I arrive."

"T-Torture what?!" Ronja scowled, casting a glance at @Ornthalas. She didn't know who that guy was, but at the same time she knew she couldn't trust those narrators, they were just trying to play tricks with their tease- Something that almost worked, with a gnoll, nearly slicing Ronja down with a swipe, that the Magia dodged in the last moment while stumbling backward, having her rifle escape from her hands and fall next to her.

Slipping her hand into her gear, she pulled out a giant wrench just in time to block an incoming attack, but at the cost of twisting her wrist's components, making her wince and struggle to keep the hold for much longer, being forced to activate a burst on her back that threw her body upwards, hitting the gnoll with a body slam while its weapon wounded her by consequence of the impact.

With the gnoll knocked away, Ronja gritted her teeth and reached for the rifle on the ground with her intact hand, using the forearm of the wrist she twisted as a support for the gun before aiming and shooting to pierce the head of any gnoll nearing @Harper, though this time, without a proper hold of the gun, the recoil was brutal, and Ronja could already see it being translated into her HP.

It seemed that, in the absolute despair she'd felt at yet another dud of a fight, the rest of the people in this dungeon had come across some kind of horde of gnolls and were fighting them. That was when she'd received the very enticing offer of capturing somebody, a beastkin, for the people that were running this thing. They were also threatening to use @Kyra Vashtana as breeding stock, which, in all honesty, Ginevra supported. The girl was good looking, so she could hardly blame them.

Her eyes meeting with the eyes of @Harper told Ginevra pretty much instantly that the beastkin would definitely oppose any attempts to capture her that Ginevra made. Hopefully there wasn't a time limit on this quest. It would be easier to nab the tiger when she was tired, than trying to fight her at full strength.

Though annoyingly, Kyra was healing her, so maybe she'd have to help the creatures take Kyra first? Really, it was so very hard to decide what to do. That was, at least, until the decision was made for her, a pair of Gnolls approaching her with clearly less than honorable intentions, grabbing at her with clawed fingers. Clearly, theirs was the team to be on!

You listen to me, spectator woman! You clearly have no idea who I am! Why would I merely capture one woman, when there are two wonderful beastkin here in front of me, just begging me to take them? I do, however, respect your tastes, as a woman that has sampled the delicious form of a beastkin woman before!

Her teeth grit, blackness crept into her eyes, before a series of pitch black tentacles emerged from her back. They writhed, before each of them lashed out at their targets, following her desires.

It really was too bad that, since they were following her desires, most of the tentacles went after @Harper and @Kyra Vashtana in an attempt to entangle and ensnare them. At best, they shoved a few gnolls over in their attempt to reach the two female beastkin.

Task: Attacking the horde
Location:Brown room 6

The horde had rushed everyone in a sudden burst of excitement and did exactly what he said. A few of them had broken off and rushed him. One of them found a spot in his arm and jammed the bone knife twisting it. Another one had a bone club whacked him in the knee cap making to fall to one knee. His hub would light up with a message from some woman. While in sitting in his chair he could each stabbed and blow by by the gnolls.Gritting his teeth as pushed threw the pain and grew a third arm gripping one of the gnolls by the neck. It was the gnoll that stabbed him and squeezed his neck till it popped like loudly and it went limp. Using his brute strength and through the dead knoll one that was approaching. This gave him a moment to breathe and gather his thoughts.

"I don't have time pull a lever go fuck yourself"

The gnoll with the hammer had called over some friends as he started the monument playful night. Club gnoll ran at him by he returned the favor swinging weapon with full power breaking its destroying it knee cap. He followed up by heel stomping its throat in. Jumping into the air he would bring down the playful night in another knolls skull breaking its neck on impact. Pulling out the knife and grunted as he did so. Looking around while breathing heavily he tried to gauge how everyone else was doing. They were holding their often for now but he couldn't help anyone yet. Putting distance between him gnolls he had to think quickly and not take anymore damage if he could afford too.

Ornthalas' eyes had started to glaze over from the lack of oxygen, as he had forgotten to breathe in the time he was laying on the ground. But the roar of the Gnolls and the wave of healing helped him to his senses. He was unsure of what the announcers had said, but something seemed to change the energy of the fight, everyone seemed pissed off. But, it had been nothing but a rumble in his head. He took in a deep breath and saw that @Seto Kurama was bleeding in a few places, and he had seemed to protect Kyra and himself along with one other. He came over and grabbed him under his arms, dragging him safely away from the creatures to give him time to recover.

"Thank you for protecting us, take a minute then come back in the fight, you hear?" He said, then turned to see @Ginevra Delaney attacking the horde from the other side, but her attack, a large horde of tentacles, seemed to be going towards Kyra and one other lady, seeking them out. He quickly ran over and pulled a holy shield in front of Kyra, blocking the tentacles from their designated path.

"There, get that off of you, get out of the way @Kyra Vashtana!" he yelled. After this, he looked at the horde with a bit of malice. "Alright, now you've pissed me off." He said, and charged in for another attack, He stood in front of the horde and channeled his shadow magic, using the creature's shadows to his advantage and causing serrated spiked emerge and stab quite a few of them in separate places, causing a small amount of damage.

A Gnoll quickly brought a club to his side, and he grunted in pain, but the shield from the Samurai-looking dude broke, and he didn't receive as much damage as he had expected, since they seemed to be "Excited" and ready to fight. He grit his teeth and flew from the attack a few feet, but he quickly stood on his feet and readied himself, loading a shot into his crossbow bracer.

".....How curious...."

Task: Power Healing @Herculean Drakecon, @Ronja Bubblyfoot and @Ginevra Delaney
Location: White Room 6 - Mob Room(Brown)
Emotional State: Focused
State:

Still reeling from the overwhelming pain, he couldn't see the woman that he had protected but he could hear the chanting, the sliting of one skin. Was she performing a ritual through blood magic? He wasn't sure, not that It mattered. Within moments of hearing her words though, he could feel his body becoming encased in a soothing layer of fluid. With his wounds beginning to heal, he found himself curious on what she had done but considering the situation they all found themselves in, he decided he save that for later. Once she finished however and he could feel his body in much better shape, he mustered the strength he could to tilt his head in her(@Kyra Vashtana) direction.

I don't know who you are but thanks for the heal. Hopefully I can do a little more with the pain you removed.

Sharing a crude smile to show his appreciation, he was about to pick himself off the ground when he suddenly felt himself being lifted off his feet and his arm being thrown over another. Tilting his head, he saw @Ornthalas, the whom was dragging him to safety. While thankful, he didn't how safe he could be, given the type of foe they were facing. Regardless, as the man dragged him away from the fight, he ended up thanking for protecting him and his female companion. With what energy he could muster, he nodded his head as he wiped away the blood on his chin.

Thanks...for the concern...but I can't let you all do it on your own.

In saying that, Ornathalas left him at the base of a fallen pillar. He took a minute to recover what energy he could, but as he did, he watched as the man threw himself back into the fray, no doubt to aid his female companion. Once he deemed himself fit for combat, he immediately tore off his white haori, revealing his sleeveless, black nagagi kimono underneath, as well as the robust muscles that made up his arms. He wasted little time jumping back into the fight but as he did, instead of going on the offensive, he decided to follow the example of the woman that had healed him. As he sped around the room through a combination of speed, electricity and even the manipulation of time, he used his mastery over the sensory abilities to detect the life energy of all those whom were fighting the gnolls. Once he found his targets, he immediately fell on them from behind using his immense speed and slammed his hand onto their shoulder, transferring a decent amount of his own life force into them. He didn't give them the chance to respond however. As soon as he was finished with the transfers, he immediately sped off until he was done with that target. Once he was done, he fell back to Kyra's position. He looked at her with a serious expression.

Hate to ask but you think you could give me a dedicated heal? In my current condition, my body too fatigued to go on the offensive.

After asking, he watched as the rest of their companions struggled......however in usual fashion, he along with the others found themselves distracted when they heard the voices of THOSE two, causing him to grit his teeth.

Seriously? The "Black" Duke is even healing others?

As If on que, as soon as Rolu finished, Barbara continued, seemingly baffled herself.

Are we sure we even got the same man?

Following their surprise, everyone was immediately met with silence for a few moments before Barbara spoke up again, this time at @Ginevra Delaney after she had seemingly proclaimed to have accepted her request. As a consequence, before the witch would get a response, Ginevra would first fall victim to the noble woman's high pitched, annoying like laughter.

Ohohohoh! I like you Miss Delaney! Rolu I request we formally employ her! She make a great addition to our cast! Just think of the possibilities!

Despite her enthusiasm, Rolu was less than ecstatic, as indicated by his initial hesitation to speak. A few moments would pass before he would do so, albeit reluctantly.

Hmm....I don't know Barbara. Do you think this Ginevra upto the challenge???

Rolu's question was immediately met with Barbara's laughter.

Perhaps we ought to ask our lovely spectators and sponsors than!

Upon saying that, everyone in Room 6 was immediately overwhelmed by the cheering and shouting of the colosseum's many visitors. Even the Gnolls themselves paused briefly when they heard the cheering. While some were cheering for the witch, other's were booing her and others? Well everything from racial slurs to outright flirtation could be heard. At the same time, this was applied to everyone else in the room, albeit to a much less extent....well besides for @Kyra Vashtana. Due to Barbara's previous ill comments, It seemed her words had aroused the crowd to her cause, forcing Kyra to fall victim to every dirty joke, threat and everything in-between. Luckily for her sanity or perhaps as a boon to her anger, the overwhelming cheering and shouting soon came to a end when Rolu took over, saving everyone and their hearing.

Well there ya go folks! It's been decided! If Miss Delaney can capture those two lovely Beastfolks, we'll hire her on as a cast member of the Warrior's Gauntlet! Isn't that exciting? This doesn't happen every day folks!

This time, for a few moments afterwards, Ginevra alone could exclusively hear the cheering. As quickly as it came however, it departed just as quick, leaving her with just Rolu.

Do your best Miss. Delaney! We expect nothing but the best! Good luck!

Just as he finished with his last comment, It was obvious he was going to say more but his voice was immediately drowned out by a excited Barbara whom only Ginevra could hear.

Ginevra dear, If your serious about my proposal, than allow this noblewoman to assist you. After all, you need the perfect ploy If you wish to capture them and obtain your position of overseer. Between their companions and the Black Duke of Astorea at her side, this will be no easy feat.

(Agreeing to this will activate SPICE. DM Vais directly for the plan :sneaky:
Sorry.....not so sorry but I can't spoil it for the rest of you :p
)

(OOC: If the three of you aren't serious about this, don't continue this sub plot. It was originally only a joke after all. I'm not taking the flak for this later if someone gets upset. This is only for fun. I'm not posting this to torture you or your characters. Task: Tentacle Wrasslin'

God, the noise.

Not only from the horde of gnolls who were now unbearably hyped with the prospect of doing god-knows-what with the group of adventurers but also from the pair of insufferable hosts watching and gloating from up above, making threats of truly disgusting fates to the beastkin in there. As a beastkin herself, Harper couldn't help but take major offense to it.

Baring her teeth at no one in particular as an answer to the female host's "Invitation", Harper would try to get her mind back into the fighting. Nothing better to help with that than throwing more gnolls around! Unfortunately, @Ronja Bubblyfoot was maybe doing a bit too good of a job of blasting the gnolls, the tigress not having much chance to get her hands on many of them herself. She wouldn't say anything though, as it wasn't like the Magia was doing anything wrong.

So this is the power of technology, huh? Cool.

Not all was bad, however, as she found her injuries being suddenly patched by some sort of blood magic courtesy of @Kyra Vashtana . With a smile, she'd turn towards the fox beastkin and give her a thumbs-up, already feeling her strength coming back and the numbness going away. Unfortunately, fate laid no rest for the wicked, as she saw from the corner of her eye @Ginevra Delaney 's tendrils coming straight at her. Just what they needed, a turncoat? Or was she on the host's side all along? This was just a mess!

While she would do a good job of dodging and striking them down for a while, eventually one managed to wrap around her right wrist and stop the girl momentarily. Quite the unfortunate timing too, as while she was trying to pull and scratch it off, a gnoll would come rushing towards her in hopes of exploiting her vulnerability. Thinking fast, Harper would throw her whole body at its legs to meet the Gnoll's charge midway, surprising it as the beast hit her body and crashed forwards. This was far from harmless however, the tigress still had some air expelled out of her lungs by the sudden impact at her sides.

Getting up before the gnoll, she would jump on its back and wrap her legs around it, snaking her free arm under its throat and grabbing her own shoulder as she pressed her head close to the gnolls, making sure to look at Ginevra as she began to put pressure to choke the hyena out. In real life, Nicole would find it quite hard to get enough pressure on a rear-naked choke with just one arm, but Harper's strength made things a lot more manageable.

As the beast quickly started to fade, Harper would growl at the witch, her golden feline eyes staring a hole through her at this point. "Look, I don't know you enough to know what your deal is, girl. But if you are going to help those two, then I and you are going to have a problem."

As the gnoll went limp in her hold, Harper would stand again on her two feet, holding the limp body by her hold in its throat. With a final, purposely violent squeeze, a nauseating cracking noise would come from the gnoll's neck as the tigress nonchalantly dumped it into the ground. Her wrist still bound by the tentacle, she would now fully turn to face Ginevra.

"Ginevra, was it? Alright, Ginny, I have a bigger problem in my hands right now." She'd say, a glance being shot at the struggling Ronja. "So here's the deal. You lay off my tail for now, and I'll give you another chance to see reason. Deal?" The last part would be said in a threatening tone, her hands twitching as her retractable claws were on full display.

Task: Healing Seto
Location: Brown Room 6 (Mob Room)
Status: Soaked, Exhausted, Vulnerable
(80 HP from Retaliation damage)

The world had begun to spin, everything colliding into a single source. There was so much noise; voices above, around, inside her head. She could hear it all drowning together, merging into a single sound that simply bombarded her senses.

Somehow through it all, she heard the request of the samurai looking individual, requesting her to focus on healing him. Ears pressed against her head against the pain of all the noise, Kyra found herself struggling to reach the man, ducking beneath the various Gnolls that tried to block her.

As she reached the man, she fell against his side - causing a slight jumble as she immediately focused on the healing magic. Her voice came as a mumble, the words nearly lost to all the noise around them as she quickly spoke them - activating the spell and transferring the energy between herself and @Seto Kurama as quickly as she could.

"I give unto thee...part of my life...essence, repair that...I give unto thee..."

Her words suddenly turned to an ear-splitting scream as she transferred the energy between herself and @Seto Kurama, before she collapsed to the ground, unconscious.

The situation seemed to get direr and direr, and the hosts were being such an annoyance that Ronja couldn't concentrate properly anymore.

The gnolls tackled, attacking the small Magia that was no longer in a safe distance. Without the range she needed to aim and shot, it was tough to defend herself-- And eventually it became nearly impossible, with one last hit throwing Ronja straight to the ground.

Her head throbbed, her muscles numbed, but the irritation in her mind grew as the annoying voice pierced her ears. The topic and target of those vicious words weren't even her, but she still couldn't help but feel affected by them.

Peeking to the side, she could see a fox girl falling, and gnolls attacking her tiger friend...

No. She won't accept-

Gritting her teeth, the center of her chest began glowing, and her suit morphed, making her body look more artificial than it already was. One foot got hold of the ground, and the other pushed her up and standing, with her new form presenting itself.

"Ronja won't stand for this!" She exclaimed, aiming her hands at both beastfolk girls, sending them a pulse of pure arcane power, embuing them with energy and trying to raise one back to her feet and trying to boost the other's fight spirit even more.

Task: Moved @Kyra Vashtana's weaken body to safety
Location: White Room 6 - Mob Room(Brown)
Emotional State: ENRAGED
State:
Normal

Past getting over his annoyance for those two announcers, even after they had tried their best to do other wise, first with this "Ginevra" woman, who ever she was, than with the crowd's sudden screaming and shouting, he remained strong compared to his companions whom were clearly not accustomed to loud noises like himself. His caution for the battle however took a turn for the worst when he suddenly felt someone slam into the side of his body. Looking over his shoulder, It was none other than the young woman who had healed him, yet now, she was clearly fatigued and wounded. Caught in complete shock, his eyes widen as much as they could, just as she began her chanting. At first, he was initially confused but after his memories of the past began flashing him by, he quickly realized what she was doing, forcing him to wrap his arms around her frail body, bringing he close to his chest. A tear came to his eye as he slowly watched the life drain from her eyes. In response, he inadvertently shook her body, in a pointless endeavor to get her to stop.

What are you doing??!! Stop this! You don't need to die for me! STOP IT ALREADY!

Regardless of his attempts to persuade her, It was all in vain, as for when the moment came, and that he could feel much of his strength returning back to him, he could do nothing as her lifeless body slipped from his hands and fell to the ground, slamming against the cold, stone floor without hesitation. As soon as he heard the impact, he immediately shifted his head and his watered eyes towards the ground. As If he was caught in a daze, he began to stare down her lifeless corpse, but in doing so, his pupils seemingly disappeared from his eyes, his body began to vibrate and he suddenly felt waves of intense energy pulsing within himself. Once he fell to his knee's besides her, he stood still, unnaturally so, just as the memories of his true self raced by him, reminding him of all those he had lost in the war, of the ones that had given their lives for him, so that he may live. He was beyond baffled, horrified even, that even now, despite all his martial prowess, he couldn't even protect a single young girl from death. Was he only weak now? Because of this battle? Or was he always this weak to begin with? He wasn't sure, but that thought alone was enough to question everything he believed in, from his code of ethic's as a warrior, to his desire to serve and protect. The more he self doubted, the more he fell into despair, even as Ronja attempted to revive her in her awakened form. If that wasn't bad enough, everything changed the moment he heard Barbara's obnoxious laughter that was soon followed by her equally annoying voice.

Oh my! was she perhaps your lover my fair Duke? Cause If she was, you just made the game a lot more interesting!

Finishing her insult with more of her obnoxious laughter, she forced something to awaken from within, pushing him over the edge as his sanity began to leave him. Despite this however, It only compelled him further to clutch her body in his arms, closing his eyes as he nestled his head against hers. For a few moments, there was only silence between the two, but as a tear fell from his eye and landed on her cheek, the man broke his silence with a whisper, as If implying she could hear her. "I...I won't let this happen to you again....ever again...I promise." Upon saying those final words with whatever sanity he could muster, he found himself no longer able to resist the overwhelming rage that was dwelling within him and his head fell further, until his face was covered by his bangs, signaling the lost of whatever sanity he had left. Perhaps to the concern to the others, he remained that way for quite a few moments before finally, he rose his head, but in doing so, when he flashed his eyes, It looked as If he had been possessed by a demon. Pulling himself off the ground with the young woman still in his arms, he immediately snapped his head in the direction where Barbara's voice had originated, displaying the rage induced demon he had become. It was rather clear he was going to murder her but first, he had other priorities. Knowing he had to save the others, he immediately teleported himself to Ronja's position, where upon landing, gently placed the young woman's body on the ground behind her. When he snapped his attention to the empowered magic however, he ended up inadvertently roaring at the woman with such a ferocity, he was wasn't going to take a no for answer.

RONJA! PROTECT HER WITH YOUR LIFE IF YOU HAVE TO! I'M ENDING THIS NOW!

Having roared across the room, If It wasn't abundantly clear before, It was now, that the man had lost most of whatever sanity he had left. Regardless though after he conveyed his request that essentially took the form of a order, he immediately teleported again, this time appearing at the opposite end of the room. He was going to finish this with one blow. Taking on a defensive stance, he immediately began mustering every ounce of magical energy he from within and around. Within seconds, the ground itself began to tremble as his power continued to climb and climb, seemingly having no end.

After a minute however? As he found himself completely overwhelmed in a faint, golden aura of electricity, the ground beneath gave out beneath him and debris began to be thrown around the room. It was at that moment a message popped up on everyone's UI's, warning them of the potential danger.

Orn was a bit stunned, unsure of what to do in this moment. As he looked over, he saw Kyra scream and flop over, unconscious from the Gnoll's attacking her while she healed. He felt something bubble inside of him, and he felt his entire body shaking in rage. This was an emotion he was not used to, an emotion that he had kept beneath the surface for years from all the abuse, all the name calling and the berating from his family for every single thing he ever did.

Rage.

The shadows within the room seemed to shudder with his emotions, each person's shadow morphing and stretching to his own as it crawled up his body, like a symbiote covering it's host. His form changed to something different. His hands turned into sharp claws, and his eyes glowed a bright white as he grew in size to match the biggest gnoll in the horde.

"...let go, for but a moment." He heard in his mind, and his form let out a piercing scream and charged straight for the largest creature. He grabbed it and pinned the large gnoll to the ground, tearing and mowing into it's body with it's claws. Blood and bits of flesh flew everywhere into the room as the gnoll could do nothing to stop the creature. The other Gnoll's attacked it's unprotected back but they were not able to stop the rage that flew out of him, and soon the biggest gnoll died in an instant. Orn felt the rage recede as he backed away, his body shaking and pale from the attacks, as he soon fell to the ground, unconscious and covered in the blood of the slain enemy.

Well, that wasn't what was supposed to have happened at all. Rather than even pay attention to the anger that @Harper was sending her way, Ginevra stood there, looking at the palm of her own hand as she allowed the black tentacles to disintegrate into nothingness, a look of shock on her face.

What on earth? That has never happened before. Why now does my magic betray my will and seek its own targets?

Then she gasped, a hand pressed against her chest, turning to look at Harper, her eyes raking up and down the tigress' form, before it all suddenly made sense. How could she have been so blind to the truth? She wanted the tigress and @Kyra Vashtana more than even she had realized!

Could it be? My magic knows that my heart desires these beautiful women and so it disobeys my commands in order to retrieve them for me? Does my own darkness know me so well, that it would act on my desires, even against my own will?

The final tentacle collapsed into pieces, releasing Harper from its grip as Ginevra stepped towards her.

I deeply apologize, my lovely tigress. I had intended to strike down these Gnolls, though it seems that my magic instead reacted to the desires in my heart and bid itself to capture you and that lovely foxy maiden both.

The sound of footsteps behind her. She turned, hefting her greatsword up, before bisecting a single Gnoll that had been sprinting up to her, backstepping as another gnoll's claws tore into her side, rending her dress and showing off a healthy amount of her midriff. She huffed, looking down in distaste at the damage to her clothes.

It seems I will have to limit my magic usage around you. You're simply too beautiful for my soul to resist, so I will have to chain it.

She turned her gaze up, though she had no clue where the commentators were.

You seem to have the wrong idea about me still! By the end of this, I will not work for you! Rather, you will work for me! You both seem to have good mouths, if nothing else~

Task: Wiping out the horde
Location: White Room 6 - Mob Room(Brown)
Emotional State: ENRAGED
State:
Extremely Vulnerable

Having reached the point of no return, he wouldn't be able to call off his attack now without taking his own life, having nearly reached critical mass with his power. So immense It was at his finger tips, he felt as If he had the power to accomplish all what he needed to do, yet at the same time, as a consequence, he could feel his own life force being drained away, to fed his body the necessary energy required for this one, final attack. Again, despite that young woman's sacrifice, the pain was beginning to mount, scratching at his insides, screaming at him to release it all at once, but he couldn't, not yet. Remembering all those who had given their lives for him, from his best friend to the numerous civilians he had befriended, his memories of them, now manifested as pure rage, propelled him forward, to continue on, and to end the threat that was threatening his comrades. While that moment would come, and could at every moment, It was not to be, at least for the moment.

Meanwhile, as the former duke of Ivalice entered the last phase of his energy charging, @Ornthalas, having watched his friend give her life for another, gave into his rage and charged straight into the enemy, tearing through their ranks until he found the biggest one of them all, the pack leader himself, as nothing less than as a raging avatar of darkness. Unprepared for the monster's assault, Ornthalas slew the creature with ease, proving his victory in a near instant. Nevertheless, after having over exerted himself past his limits, the elf immediately fell to the ground, unable to move as his conscious began to fade away. In his final moments however, as his anger began to dissipate, he could hear nothing but the cheering of the spectators and of course, the announcers themselves, whom seemed to be surprised by his "sudden" transformation.

Oh oh! Would you look at that folks! It seems we have a forsaken one amongst us! I don't know about the spectators but man, do I pity you Elf. The gods have truly abandoned you haven't they?....Well works for us....right Barbara?

As if on que, Barbara spoke up in a equally amused voice.

Indeed Rolu! We get to watch this animal fight to the death for us! Isn't this amazing! It's not every day we get a monster like him!

As Barbara began to laugh, Rolu took the opportunity to continue.

How about it folks? Cheers to Ornthalas the "Forsaken One"! The mad Elf that will live to entertain us! The one that will fight and die for us!

Surprisingly, with the supposed aid from one of the announcers, the cheering from the crowd continued, this time in a positive manner, or as positive as It could be considering his and the other's situation. Regardless, this would only last a short time before it would be replaced by Barbara's voice, whom seemed to be particularly amused by @Ginevra Delaney's decision to go against her and her "gracious" offer.

Is that so? Very well, I suppose I could use another "caretaker" for my precious, little minotaur! He's a affectionate one! But doesn't know his own strength. I'm sure you be perfect dear!.....But just in case you have other idea's, I'll send out our hired help to retrieve you! I'm sure they won't mind escorting you back!

upon speaking in a haughty like fashion, she ended the conversation with more of her annoying, high pitched laughter. It seems Ginevra has fallen victim to Barbara's wrath!

DM SPICE
Every time Ginevra is the first one to enter a mob room, she has a 25% chance(on a 1D100 - 1-20) of spawning a 1,500HP Bandit horde on top of whatever she spawned in. Should Ginevra's HP hit 0%, she will be captured and not killed by the bandits. Same Gnoll rolls apply once captured.

Nonetheless, as those two interactions came a close, the former duke found himself ready. Now engulfed in a overwhelmingly powerful, golden veil of electricity, his eyes & mouth spewing off bolts of lightening in all directions, he immediately arose the palm of his right hand and took aim at the horde. Within seconds of activation, a small, like ritualistic circle suddenly appeared before his hand and began glowing a faint white.

❰ Raijin Blast ❱

Seconds later, a massive white, ritualistic like circle suddenly appeared above the entire party, spanning almost the entirety of the room. Out from the center of the ritualistic, white like circle came a immense beam of electricity that came firing from above, strafing nearly everything in it's wake without remorse. From the moment of impact, everything caught in it's immediate vicinity was abruptly vaporized without warning while those lucky enough to survive, were either paralyzed and charred or were thrown back when the massive shockwave went off at the moment of impact, kicking up debris and dust into the room, creating something akin to a sandstorm.

When the dust finally ended subsided a full minute later after the attack ended, allowing everyone to see clearly, almost the entirety of the horde laid dead or dying, unable move. As such, as If the survivors were now in a graveyard, various groans and moans could be heard throughout the room, indicating many of the duke's victims were completely incapacitated, leaving them to the mercy of whomever would approach them. Perhaps the most shocking of all however was the massive crater that now sat at the center of the room. With the bottom as black as the void, It was clear that the crater was deep, and by chance, someone would fall in, they would easily fall to their deaths. Regardless however, despite the overwhelming power he had displayed, a few members of the horde had not only managed to survive but were even able to collect @Ornthalas before throwing him in one of their primitive cages, inadvertently saving his life from the attack. While a few members would go on to protect their "prize", the remainder of the horde would converse on @Kyra Vashtana's position, determined to take the weakened beastkin girl with them before making a hasty retreat. As for the man himself, after firing off a tremendous amount of energy, he immediately fell to one knee, clearly unable to move as powerful waves of purple colored lightning and rays of steam began emitting from his body.

Another full minute would pass before the groaning and moaning of the dying would be eclipsed by the sudden cheers of the crowd, than the eventual voices of the announcer's themselves, whom were seemingly amused by what they had watched, If the enthusiasm in their voices were any indication of that.

Well would you look at that folks! Another spectacular performance by none other than the "Black" Duke of Astorea! He only had to nearly kill his comrades to bring down the horde! He's never one for disappoint is he Barbara?

Despite his enthusiasm, he was met with Barbara's curiosity instead.

But can he keep it up? That's the million dollar question now!

Taking a page out of Barbara's, It was he, not Barbara who than laughed, seemingly amused by what she was asking.

You got that right! But I have a even bigger question right now.

Curious, Barbara responded.

Oh? And what would that be?

Answering a question with another question, this time Rolu changed his attention to @Ronja Bubblyfoot.

Do you think Ronja "babyfoot" survived? I mean the girl was too scared to even head out on her own initially. You really think she's got the willpower or the smarts to survive a explosion like that?

In response, Barbara chuckled before responding with some enthusiasm of her own.

Oh I dear hope so Rolu! She essential in my Magia experiments! We did hire Ornthalas to capture and torture her but he seems indisposed at the moment. What a shame! And here I thought I could help revolutionize the world! Oh well....

She gasped as she returned to the land of the living, the consciousness taking over her as she felt something closing over the wounds she'd received. Everything hurt. Her body, her head, her ears. Everything. In the distance she could hear the announcers continuing their tirade of commentary, the words lost to Kyra in the moment. She rolled to her side, catching sight of Orn laying on the floor, unmoving and clearly unconscious.

Not Orn...no... The words rang in her mind in a calm fury, an anger that had been boiling up inside her that she hadn't previously recognised. She felt the fury wash over her, charging out of her. Stumbling to her feet, she pulled forth her scythe, glancing at the horde. Wordlessly, she moved towards the creatures, stumbling beneath one strike before picking up momentum.

She felt her energy returning as she moved, suddenly ducking and dipping in a manner that defied the injuries she'd received. She found her target, the creature that had been hovering over Orn's body just moments before - it seemed to almost grin at her.

"No."

The single word came out as a whisper as she suddenly launched herself in the air, spinning as she kicked off the face of another Gnoll, before sliding underneath the creature that was her target, hooking her scythe along the inside of its leg and pulling - the sharp blade tearing clean through the flesh and bone, and causing the creature to fall to the floor. Standing up beside it, Kyra raised her weapon before bringing it down into the eye socket of the Gnoll, ripping the blade out and sinking it into the other eye socket. The watched as the creature spasmed, the pain clearly written across its face as it screamed in terror. She waited, a brief moment, before making her decision.

She knicked her left forearm with the small dagger at the end of the chain, before letting the blood drip down onto the Gnoll beneath her. Summoning the control over her own blood, she forced it into the other creature's bloodstream, before corrupting its own lifeforce, turning the bloodflow outwards and causing the creature to suffer as she drained the blood from its body in a single, simple motion. She watched, without empathy, as the creature continued to spasm and scream, its pain clearly unbearable as Kyra slowly drained it.

As the creature slowly stopped moving, she turned calmly to face the remaining horde, her scythe in her hand, held casually at her side as she surrounded herself in a swirl of her own blood.

"I've decided I don't like you. At all."

The events began unfolding in a dangerous way, with the elf man being dragged away and captured, followed by @Seto Kurama's explosion flashing a beam that only didn't blind Ronja thanks to her Ultra Magia's mode.

She cast a glance at @Kyra Vashtana, who just as soon as she stood back with Ronja's healing, was already going for the combat. The path was slightly cleared with the fox girl's attack, and Ronja's eyes flickered. "Ronja will rescue him, don't worry!" She said, taking a sprint forward before jumping with open arms.

Ronja blasted off with her jet boots, resting her arms against her sides and doing barrel rolls to barely dodge the gnolls' attacks, soon slamming against the cage's gate and focusing on the lock before shooting arcane lasers from her eyes, melting the lock and forcing the gate open.

Holding @Ornthalas tightly, Ronja used her Magia strength to pull him out of the cage and support him over her shoulder. "Come on, Ronja isn't sure what this 'capture' Ronja deal is, but she isn't going to let you turn into hyena's dinner." She said, tugging the man and soon blasting off with her jet boots once again, lifting both of them in a flight and trying to recover the position.

An unexpected attack then came, with a thrown axe slamming against Ronja's boots and making her flight falter. "Oh no! H-Hang in there!" Ronja warned Ornthalas, widening her eyes for a moment before closing them tightly, bracing herself for the rough landing.

Task: N/A
Location: White Room 6 - Mob Room(Brown)
Emotional State: Extreme Agony
State: Extremely Vulnerable

Unable to move, he could do nothing but grit his teeth in anguish. After forcing himself past his limits, the pain rupturing through his body was nigh unbearable, as If his very being was being torn to pieces. Bones cracked, blood vassals ruptured, organs mangled, flesh torn from the inside out, It was a type of agony you could never prepare yourself for, and while such anguish would break most individuals, he was not one of them, having been a ill-fated soul who was forced to endure not only torture but possession as well. Between the two, having fell to torture in both worlds and a demon being sealed within him in this one, the pain, the anguish, these were things he was all too familiar with. It made him suffer in ways others wouldn't understand but at least, It gave him the gift to endure what other could nothing. Regardless though, even If It was true, It didn't mean he didn't feel pain. It was quite the opposite in fact. As the waves of purple electricity & steam continued to emit from his body, climbing in intensity as time pressed on, the man found himself continually reeling in the pain, unable to contain his agony as a long series of wailings began to escape his lips. As his pain continued to climb however, his monstrous anger only grew, compelling to stand up and finish the fight, to eliminate all those who he deemed a danger, and yet, no matter how hard he tried, he instead found himself doing the opposite when his ears began picking up the voice of the young woman who had died for him. She was not only alive but was willing to fight? He didn't know what to make of this but he was glad @Ronja Bubblyfoot had managed to revive her. In that instant, a tear came to his left eye, the rage he felt within his heart was no more, but It only took seconds for that emptiness to be replaced with sorrow, forcing him to remember memories which he rather not remember. Just like before, he did it again, in his rage, he allowed to take the beast from within to take over. Because of his weakness, he had almost took the lives of his comrades, something he swore he wouldn't do. Overwhelmed by his trauma of the past and the ever increasing pain, a second tear formed as the noble warrior fell to his knee's, now completely exhausted. Despite the depressing situation however, that didn't stop the announcers from laughing together.

Is the Duke crying? Oh that's precious!

While Rolu insulted the "Duke" of Astorea directly, Barbara seemingly had "other" plans in mind when her voice suddenly popped up.

Garoran! Did you get that?....Yes?....Good! Now be a dear and don't lose that memory crystal!

After Barbara was apparently finished speaking to someone not part of the "cast", she than turned her attention back on the Duke, answering Rolu's comment with one of her own.

This is quite the surprise but a welcoming one nonetheless. Perhaps I ought to capture the Duke instead? He make quite the amusing plaything if I say so myself!

Taking a moment to pause, there was nothing but silence for a moment before Barbara's voice, not ecstatic, could be heard as she proceeded to ask Rolu another question.

Do you think his so called "Lioness" would approve of him being used in a such a fashion?

As Barbara asked, she was met with laughter.

Maybe we should find out? It might be amusing! Especially If the rumors are true!

The instant he finished, Rolu found himself being questioned by his companion, clearly intrigued.

And what would that be Rolu?

Rolu immediately answered with enthusiasm.

That he's homosexual of course!

Despite hearing all this and wanting to be angry, he had nothing left too give. He was simply too exhausted and in pain to care. The two knew this and would surely use it to their advantage If able. For now though, he wouldn't care, recovering was more important at the moment.

Oh my! That would explain alot!....Now I'm even more interested! Perhaps I could cap

Cut off before she could finish her remaining statement. Barbara pouted while Rolu turned his attention to @Kyra Vashtana, seemingly wanting to pick on her some more for whatever reason.

Nice try miss cowardly fox but your too late! You let your so called friend die! But not only that! You inadvertently almost got everyone killed with that little hero stunt of yours! Wanna try again for a gold coin? Or are you ready to accept your just a weakling fox? Maybe I ought to do everyone a favor and just throw you to Barbara's minotaur's along with that Ginevra girl. You don't seem good for much else. Why keep a weakling along if they can't even pull their weight?

Hearing him speak ill of that young woman infuriated him yet despite the growing anger compelling him to pull himself up, he was still unable. For now he secede the victory to them like he had a minute ago but that wouldn't last long. He made a promise and he was going to keep it, even If it killed him.

Task: Gnoll Clean-Up
Location: White Room 6
Emotional State: Annoyed
State: Normal
(-10 HP from Retaliation damage)

Harper would have a few words for @Ginevra Delaney and her supposedly uncontrollable magic, but those were put on hold by an alert blaring on her screen, alerting her of an incoming and highly dangerous attack. She found it odd, given that none of the gnolls seemed to be the source of such a dangerous attack. It only took her looking back at her own allies to figure out the source of the alert.

And she wasn't in a position to easily dodge it. Letting out a quick growl at @Seto Kurama , she would barely have enough time to grab the body from the gnoll she had just snapped the neck of and use it as a meat shield from the brunt of the attack. This wasn't a perfect solution however, as the shockwave still knocked her back into a nearby wall, the same body she used as a shield now uncomfortably smushing her against said wall.

Once the dust settled, she'd let out a groan as she moved the poor gnoll out of the way, letting out a few coughs as she whined. "Good god man, what about some consideration to the people helping you?" Complaining to no one in particular, she would walk towards the center of the room. This had already gone for a painful while, and all she wanted was some rest. If the gnolls just laid down and pretended to be dead, all would be well...

"...!" She would duck a club attack from a gnoll trying to blindside her, grabbing it and holstering it up by the neck. She'd stare at a group of gnolls in the distance, before releasing the gnoll from her grasp. Its feet wouldn't get the chance to hit the ground, however, as the beastkin would deliver a vicious kick to its midsection, sending it flying towards its brethren, knocking most of them into the air with a loud impact.

Standing in the middle of the room, Harper would draw a line on the floor using the dust and debris by dragging her foot. Stomping on it, she would declare. "I'm giving you two choices. Either lay down your arms and surrender or I will lay you down. And if you have a problem with that, cross this line and say it to my face!"

This threat had two objectives. If the gnolls went with the first option, they could safely end this combat without much further damage. If not, she hoped it would at least funnel them into herself and let @Ronja Bubblyfoot and the others take their time to recover.
