The Gnoll horde appeared to disperse as they were torn apart by the others, Kyra watching as the few still hobbling creatures scattered - most retreating for their lives, before being cut down by the other Starcalled around her.

She spotted a few individuals still around her, their wounds obvious as they stumbled to and fro, as if trying to keep their balance. She could see the fight still in many of them; her own exhaustion likely as clear as theirs was to her.

In the centre of it all, she found Orn. Battered, bleeding, and barely clinging to life. Kyra stumbled towards him, her lips already moving in the familiar phrasing that she used when casting her spells. She fell to her knees beside him, just as she finished mumbling, the magic leaving her body as she groaned in pain once more.

"I give unto thee...this blessing from my soul...return to that which was taken..."

She slunk down beside Orn as she saw the magic reach out to two others nearby, providing them little comfort as her exhaustion overtook her. Still, she managed to mumble out a promise, even as she felt her limbs growing heavy, the tiredness causing her to relax - if only for the moment.

"I'm coming to find you...no matter what it takes..."

Task: Magically carrying Everyone
Location: Grey Room 3 - Safe Room
Emotional State: Mostly Fine, If not slightly fatigued
State: Normal

With the pain still overwhelming him, tearing at his very core, there was little, If anything he could but bare it, much to his distain. It was a feeling he was all too familiar with, but with that, as the electricity continued to rupture through his body, destroying what kept him alive, It required all the willpower he could muster, so much so that when a tiger looking beastkin(@Harper) approached him and howled at him over something, he was unable to give her the attention she seeked. She was clearly injured but he doubt she understood what he was going through. Nonetheless, the pain persisted, even after she walked away, causing him to grit his teeth even harder. The torture would remain for several more minutes, and in that time, there would be numerous times he try to pull himself up, only to be thrown back on his knee's when his body decided otherwise. It frustrated him but there was nothing he could do but wait. To that effect, he closed his eyes and just focused on keep his sanity intact by remembering those who gave him power such as his Lioness and his maid, Riza whom he promised he would return back to. It certainly made dealing with the agony easier at least. When the pain did finally subside and he felt his strength returning to him, he immediately pulled himself up, albeit reluctantly. He closed his eyes and let out a sigh, relieved the battle was over for now. It didn't take long after that however that he remembered what he had done. As soon as the image of a massive beam of electricity coming down from the heavens and killing his comrades came to his mind, he immediately swung his eyes open and began to scour the room for his companions. It only took a few moments but once his crimson eyes picked up his companions still alive amongst the piles of dead hyena's that littered throughout the room, he couldn't help but sigh again, relieved they were still alive, even after his show of force. Regardless, he couldn't hide the fact there was still some sorrow in his eyes. He allowed his anger to get the best of him again and there was little, If anything he could do to make up for it. He have to control his anger better in the future. He sighed again. It was certainly something he have to work on and worry about but in this particular instance, that wasn't his main concern. With his master over detection, It was clear as day that everyone in his party as well as the other two were severely wounded, If not close to death themselves. If they were going to survive, he have to remedy that and quickly. Healing was certainly a option but that take awhile, so why not withdraw to a safe room where everyone could be healed at all once? He stared down at his right hand and made a fist a few times. His strength and magical reserves had returned to him so as long as he didn't push himself too far, he should be fine. That said, he couldn't remember the last time he had carried so many people previously using magic. He waved it off. He concluded he be fine.

Dematerializing Mursama back to the pocket dimension he used for storage, he slowly made his way to @Kyra Vashtana, @Ronja Bubblyfoot, @Herculean Drakecon and a barely breathing @Ornthalas whom was still laying on the ground. As he approached the four, he made a friendly gesture before calling out for them.

Good job you three....and sorry about earlier....but you all can yell at me later. Getting you all patched up takes priority first.

Remembering what he had done with Alecto, he lifted his one hand and conjured up something akin to a large, flat like cloud with some of his spare energy before turning back towards the four. Amongst the three, Ornthalas was the first he approached. Ignoring the obvious embarrassment that came with a man carrying another, he scooped the man up off the ground with his arms and gently laid him on the cloud before turning back to towards the other two. He was sure they wouldn't like what would come next but shrugged.

Sorry about this...

Approaching the three without approval, he first walked beyond Ronja Bubblyfoot and wrapped his arms around her waist, hoisting her into the air before carrying her over to the cloud and plopping her on the cloud. He would do the same for Herculean Drakecon and Kyra Vashtana as well but the moment he would plop her on the cloud next to Ornthalas, the man would make a sympathetic smile and caress the top of her head with the palm of his hand.

While I'm grateful for all you done for me, please don't pull that stunt again alright? While I can understand your willingness to save your friend here, there's no reason to extend that to someone like me. I simply don't deserve it...

Concluding his request with the same smile, he quickly removed his hand from her forehead before he turned his attention to @Harper and @Ginevra Delaney. It didn't take long,, much less a minute for him to realize the same "method" wouldn't work on those two, considering one looked as If they would rip his hands off and the other? It wouldn't be worth the trouble, especially with the ominous black dress they wore and that smirk that was on their face. He wasn't in the mood to get bit from some beastkin girl or get tangled up in the affairs of some prankster or troll so the answer? He would simply conjure up a gust of wind in the form of a tiny vortex that would engulf and carry the two before gently putting them down on his large, mattress looking cloud. Once they were seated, he would take a seat himself at the front before propelling it forward in a sudden burst of speed, launching it in the direction the other three came from. Though he wasn't sure If there was a healing room in this direction, he figured It better to go this way than the way they came, considering the healing room he discovered was a fair bit away. Luckily for him and the others that were severely injured however, It would only take minutes and speeding through two rooms before they stumble across a new healing room with a worn out bed? That was weird but he wasn't going to complain. Stopping his cloud at the fountain with the massive, blue crystal overneath, he immediately fell back on his back and closed his eyes, preferring to use this moment to relax as the pain within his body began to dissipate.

For the really first time herculean had been frozen with what felt like battle fear, An overwhelming force of the knolls and his visible shirking health bar made him feel fear for the first time. He would take a knee and start to visibly sweat as everyone around him cleaned up the knolls. seto kurama was strong far beyond his current level. He couldn't even protect anyone during the event before this and he had visible flashbacks. It was all over when he came back too and he was being carried by @Seto Kurama.

Putting away his playful cloud and seeing that combat was over with @Harper doing the killing blow. He couldn't even focus anymore after another moment. He could hear white noise getting louder and louder. The annoying announcers were laughing at something but were too mentally and physically trying to even try to listen in. Instead, he would just lay on the ground with a hopeless look on his face and the white noise funneling in.

For several minutes, he laid there on his cloud, seemingly content with the current situation despite the fact he was trapped in a dungeon along with several others. He was so comfortable in fact, he found himself nearly dozing off a few times. He couldn't help it though. It had been a good amount of time since he had good's night rest. With the exception of the occasional, humming like noise that originated from the float, blue crystal above him, It was surprisingly quiet, so much so, It must have affected the others cause he hadn't heard a single peep from them since the battle. He could only imagine they were enjoying the same peace and quiet as him, after all, they were alot more banged up than he was. Still though, after he spent a further several minutes thinking about his past settlement & wife, he ended up pulling himself up before turning his whole body in his party's direction when he still heard nothing. He eyed them with some worry, not sure what to make of this. They didn't fall into a coma or something right?

Uhh......You guys alright? Because none of you have said anything since I transported you all here.

Still worried, he began caressing the back of his head as he awaited for an answer from the lot of them. If he didn't get a response, he have to fear the worst and move on. At least that way, If he could clear this place himself, he could come back with help. It wasn't as If he could pull the same stunt he had before constantly. He had to reserve what energy he had.

"Yeah yeah, I'm fine enough. Just waiting for at least most of my body to stop being so sore..."

The tigress would whine slightly, lazily letting her head bob down from the border of the cloud bed @Seto Kurama had conjured to face him. She had mostly gotten over his little stunt from earlier, figuring that the fact it did clear most of the gnolls made it up for the fact she did get caught in the crossfire. Yes, being thrown into a wall was annoying, but everything worked well, so almost no harm was done.

"Still, that was quite a jump of difficulty from the room prior. Do you think the hosts are getting desperate, now that we are mostly bunched up? Hmm.." She'd note, thinking back to the encounter. Given that the room before was quite literally just a pair of ghosts, it didn't fit what seemed to be a natural progression of difficulty. And while she had a lot of things to say about the hosts, all of them not nice, "incompetent" wasn't one of them at least. So all of this struck her as definitely odd.

Turning her gaze towards the rest of the room, she eventually met @Ronja Bubblyfoot with a smirk, giving her a wave from her cloud bed. "So, what even was that new form Ronja? I wouldn't have needed to save you from that goblin champion back then if you had it. Where did that come from, hm?" She'd ask in a mix of curiosity and playfulness, running her claws through the cloud bed in a relaxed manner, her stripped tail softly swinging from side to side as she waited for the Magia's answer.

"Now I can't help but feel left behind. Guess I'll need to go and learn a new trick or two for the next time we meet." She'd say, pumping her fist in the air. "Who knows, maybe next time you see me I'll be floating in the air, throwing fireballs, haha!" Harper would joke out, giving a hearty laugh as she rest her hands behind her head, letting out a sigh as she relaxed.

Ronja's Ultra Magia mode slowly faded, with the extra appendages and armory retracting back while morphing back to her usual skintight suit. Her eyes clicked a few times, flickering at the low energy while everything felt vaguely numb.

Her eyes turned to spot her Energy Bar, finally noticing just how low it was. She was on the verge of Emergency Mode, barely having time to feel embarrassed at the fact @Seto Kurama suddenly held her up by the waist along with others to somewhere else.

With her eyes retracting, soon she blinked twice, shaking her head and finally managing to get a firmer control of her senses, now that her energy and health bar were full once again.

Her attention shifted to Seto's words, clearing her throat. "Sorry... R-Ronja was just a bit off because of her energy gauge." Cheeks grew rosy for a moment, and she cast a glance around, at everyone and then at @Harper who had inquired her about the other form. "A-Ah, that? Ronja acquired that recently. At the time of the goblin champion she didn't have access to any of that." She admitted, tilting her head at her friend. "Flying and shooting fireballs would be fine. But Ronja can always give you a flight ride if you want. She can take a lot of weight!" She said, gesturing to @Ornthalas, who she had carried out of the cage back in the fight.

Task: Tackling Hyenas
Location: Grey Room (3)
State: The Calm Before the Storm

Kyra's ears twitched, constantly. Her tail stood out before her as she looked straight ahead. It had taken a lot out of her so far, and as she considered their situation, she began to wonder...

"I'm...fine...where's Ornthalas?"

She glanced around, looking for the other man as she suddenly realised that he had been severely injured last she'd seen. The moment she spotted the man, she hovered over him, making sure he was alright, checking for any major wounds or hinderences. In a soft voice, she spoke to him.

"When I find whomever brought us here...whomever it was that put us through this hell...I'm going to end them, in the most painful way I can imagine. I'm going to make sure, that for every single moment that we have suffered in here, they'll suffer for five...no, ten minutes. I'll drain the blood from their very veins, only to refill it and begin to slowly drain it all over again, making sure to clot the ones that lead directly to their heart..."

A fury burned in her words as she spoke, yet her entire body, her entire appearance, was calm. Tense, for sure, as every movement she made was stiff. Yet there was no sign of anger upon her face, no sign of hatred or aggression.

He found himself partially relieved when at least some of his party members showed signs of being alive, though he couldn't help but chuckle a bit when @Harper asked him If the announcers were starting to get "desperate" given their current situation. He simply nodded his head in response.

Doubtful...this is only the beginning. After all, there's a reason they call it the "Warriors" Gauntlet. Unless your sufficiently skilled....or lucky, you will die here. Just surviving in this hell hole alone is an achievement. If you do manage to escape however....be thankful. I couldn't tell you how many players have died here....but I can tell you it's alot....and it's not like you can cheat yourself out of here by killing yourself. You don't "respawn" at a temple If you die in here. Not sure how they managed that one but the nobility that runs this place have pockets that run deep.

Finishing with a sigh, It didn't long after that when @Ronja Bubblyfoot grabbed his attention, citing she had just been out of it due to her low reserves in energy. He nodded. He understood that pain quite well, having remembered numerous times where he had done something similar, though usually, It often landed him in near death situations without a healer....well unless he wanted to include Sola, though unlike Kyra, she wasn't much of a healer as she was a thick headed fighter who preferred to fight without using her head. He didn't ponder much on this however, as again, he found his attention diverted between Harper and Ronja, who proceeded to ask her about her new "abilities". He wasn't acquainted with her until a short time ago but even he was interested in how she acquired this. The results however were less than a satisfactory answer but he was indifferent about it. It was just another thing he understood, having been in this game longer than most people. There were times where something "clicked" into place and you would unlock a new ability. That said, he did end up eying the tiger girl when she cited disappointment in herself, having no pleasure in being left behind by her friend. This as a consequence caused him to look back at the few times he had seen her fight. In all those times, he had never seen her use her "tail" as a weapon, which was odd, given her status as a beast folk. This prompted him to ask her, curious as to why she wouldn't use it.

Apologies for interrupting...but I wanted to ask you a question Harper. From the few times I've seen you fight, I've noticed that you don't use your tail. Why exactly is that? While I don't need to tell you that it can be a weakness, It can also be a strength. It's a pretty common tactic for beast folks for use them in battle If able. Most tend to use them for grappling, distracting or striking their opponents.

He was about to say more before he found himself interrupted by @Kyra Vashtana who had seemingly just popped up from her nap. When she cited her desire to murder the announcers and all the staff here, he couldn't help but chuckle just a bit more.

Good luck with that Kyra. If the infamous "Black Duke" of Astorea couldn't even tear his way through, I highly doubt anyone else can. Just be thankful when we get the hell out of here.

Once he was done having his laughs, his demeanor came darker and even cold, as he continued, this time, crossing his arms as he spoke.

If your serious however, you can aid me down the line when I decide to go after the shadow organization that runs this place.....Be warning though, this place is ran by those with influence and power, not to mention those with deep pockets. Eliminating them won't be easy and we won't be able to count on the King for any assistance. Without my former powerbase, this will take quite some time...

Orn's body and mind were tired, and after his final blow against the creatures, most of his bodily systems shut down, the only thing working was his heart and lungs, keeping his body alive. It felt like someone had unplugged the system he was hooked up to and he was stuck in the middle point, between the virtual world and reality. But after some time, senses started to come back, one at a time. He could initally feel something light and fluffy carrying him, then he soon felt the breeze of the room shifting his hair gently.

"Nngh..." was all he could mutter out as he dragged himself out of his subconsious. He slowly opened his eyes and saw @Kyra Vashtana and @Seto Kurama around him. He smiled weakly. "I guess we won eh? Where's my cash prize?" He joked weakly, his voice a bit hoarse from when he had screamed. He did his best to sit up, but his body screamed in protest. Even if the wounds had healed from whoever healed him, he had still pushed his body well past his limits, and he was feeling it. He slowly reached out a hand towards Kyra and smiled.

"I'm proud of you, you did great. Sorry I didn't make it in such grace as you did." He spoke, doing his best to comfort his friend. He looked to see a few other people that he had fought with, and he gave them all a nod when they met eyes. "I think I need to lay here for a while longer, my body isn't entirely ready to move just yet."

"Hmm... Maybe so. Well, I do not have any plans of making this my virtual resting place. So it doesn't matter if I can't respawn back at the temple or if this gauntlet has claimed many people before, I'm not dying here."

Harper would affirm with confidence, raising her fist into the air and pumping it. While what she had said was nothing new to the tigress, it was good to remember herself of that. They had just been thoroughly tested by the gauntlet and many of them had been pushed to the brink by the gnoll horde. As thus, it was easy to let morale slip downwards, but Harper would make sure to keep both her spirits and goal in mind.

She was getting out of here. And as a bonus, her situation was a bit different from most others in this room in regards to the hosts.

"Besides, you heard the bastards. They want me alive. God knows for what. But that does mean I should be a bit safer than the rest of you all. Whether this is a blessing or a curse is something I really don't want to find out." She'd note, glancing sideways at @Ginevra Delaney . A good part of her knew that anything those hosts said couldn't be trusted and that they could've been just trying to instill distrust in the group. Ginevra had also kept her word and didn't seem to make any further attempts at her besides the "accidental" one.

Yet, despite all of that, the beastkin couldn't help but still feel a pint of uneasiness around the witch. She figured it would maybe stop if she took her mind out of it for a bit, and thankfully @Seto Kurama gave her a good hook for it... If not a bit of a weird one.

"My... Tail?" Harper would be a bit taken aback, the stripped tail wrapping around her hand as she caressed it softly, thinking about the duke's suggestion. "Honestly, I just haven't found a proper use for it, I guess? Judo and BJJ don't really have techniques for a 5th appendage, and I'd rather stick with my bread & butter when my hide is on the line, instead of trying to get fancy with some weird tail hold." The tigress would comment, though after a small pause her tone would change to a more interested one, Harper resting the side of her face on her free hand.

"Though I can't deny there is some novelty to the idea." With a somewhat devious smirk, she'd turn to @Ronja Bubblyfoot . "Say, Ronja, wanna see me squeeze juice from some poor bastard with my tail?" The beastkin would half-joke, before listening to both Seto and @Kyra Vashtana 's plans about what to do with the hosts. With a sigh, she'd shake her head at the two.

"You know, I think the both of you are trying to account for chickens that haven't even hatched yet. Instead of setting your sights at the hosts at the end of this maze, or those outside of it..." She'd pause, her clawed hand pointing towards one of the doors. "I think we should keep our focus on the next step in front of us for now. One at a time, steady wins the race. You feel me?"

Ronja watched the rest of the group either resting or getting pumped up about revenge. Honestly, she just wanted to get out of there. If she could beat up the owners, it would be a bonus, but preferably her main objective was to hop out of there as quick as she could muster.

Her attention shifted to @Harper and @Seto Kurama's conversation, tilting her head. "Tail squeeze? Like a snake coiling?" She asked, smiling faintly at her friend. "Ronja doesn't really think whoever you target with that is a poor bastard, because they honestly deserve." Her eyes went down.

"But Ronja does agree with one thing, Harper." She looked at the tiger girl. "We need to keep going, and find an exit as soon as possible. We have our reservations about the hosts, but honestly-" Ronja looked at Seto. "We need to be alive and safe before thinking about anything like that. Otherwise, we will just get another Ornthalas getting kidnapped and a Kyra nearly dying. Bravery will do nothing without some smarts. And fighting at this huge disadvantage? It is far from being smart."

In his waiting for a certain fox girl to respond to his offer, he found his eyes drawn down when he heard a sudden groan. Looking down towards the source, his eyes ended up locking with another, causing a wearily smile to form across his face. Despite everything that had happened, @Ornthalas was alright, especially If he was well enough to joke.

Well If we get out of here? Our lives for starters.

With his crimson irises rolling to the edges of his eyes, he tilted his head slightly away from the two as he began rubbing the bottom of his chin.

Though I have heard that they sometimes rewards those who are crowd favorites or those who have put on a good show. Unfortunately...I wouldn't know. I was carried away by Alia after brute forcing my way through.

His irises now beaming on Ornthalas from the edge of his eyes, he brought his arms close to his chest and folded them before continuing.

Although I should be the last person to say this, given my own past but......you shouldn't rely on that power, If not for your own sake, than for the well being of those you care about.

Taking notice of Ornthalas attempt to grab Kyra's hand with one of his own, Seto pulled himself closer until he was able to whisper just loud enough for Ornthalas to hear.

Especially If there's a special someone you care about.

Pulling himself away, he turned to face the opposite direction, turning his back to Ornthalas and Kyra.

If you do decide to continue using that power however, I could help you control that power, If you so wish that is. Having to contend with a demon inside me for so long....I've learned a great many things....Though it often pales to the effects of the trauma I've experienced in the past.

In revealing a part of himself he held disdain for, he went initially silent after. Closing his eyes as a result, he found his mind being flooded with memories of the past, ranging from Merkaba sealing a demon inside of him when he was young to the numerous times he lost control and the demon took over, causing numerous innocents to die...or worse. These were memories best left forgotten yet no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't remove them from his subconscious. Just like in the other world where he was a soldier at one point in his life, he couldn't remove those either, nor the damage It did to his mind. Even the love from his wives weren't enough to repair what had been stolen from him. Regardless, It was only a minute at best before he was snapped out of it thanks to @Harper when she expressed shock and a bit of concern about his suggestion regarding her tail. Shifting his head in her direction, he shrugged his shoulders while eying her.

Well? Only you know what's best for you. Though...that said, with my experience in Jieitaikakutojutsu, which incorporates elements from Judo, a surprise attack or grapple from a tail would have came in handy during my time in the service.

He was far from being a expert in martial arts when it came to hand to hand combat, even with his experience in the war and his training yet despite that, even he could see the potential in such an asset. For any veteran, It was always a given to use any and every advantage one could get If It meant surviving a encounter you may otherwise, not able to win. To many however, It usually a hard pill to swallow, especially towards the inexperienced and unprepared. Honor was an essential part of his culture and even his own ideals but regrettably, as much as he hated it, and would most likely never admit it, there were times a soldier would have choose between surviving and dying for their ideals. That was the ultimatum that would decide a true warrior or not. To die honorable or survive through dirty means. A rather unpleasant choice for sure but one everyone would have to make one day. These younglings were young in his eyes but he was sure someone like Harper would eventually realize she have to make this choice, whether she knew it or not, but If she couldn't, he figured he give her a push in the direction.

Making his way over towards the foundation, he took his spot at it's edge. Reaching down with his hands, he hoped to get a drink before he attempt to give Harper some advice but atlas, before he could so, both Harper and @Ronja Bubblyfoot joined in unison in their disapproval of his plans of revenge. As a consequence, as he turned to face them, his face turned wearily and a few nervous sounding like chuckles escaped before he spook.

I.....think you two are mistaken. My sense of justice is anything but new. I've been trying to take down this organization since I became a Duke. As I've said before however, there a clever bunch with deep pockets and a substantial amount of influence. Simply eliminating those on the lower end will do nothing.

His expression & tone turned more serious.

Now If they made it personal, that be a different story...but I've already lost everyone and everything I've ever cared about. My urge to bring these buffons to justice pales in comparison to the vendetta I have for the woman that destroyed my home....and all those who dwelled within it.
