Brutus' eyes widened at the woman's request. That was a cheap shot, and she fucking knew it. He would tut and shake his head, his eyes lighting up with an internal fire. She'd asked for it this time, and a low throaty chuckle escaped from his list.

"Jesus Toko, I asked for copper and you went for Gold!" He waggled an eyebrow teasingly at her. "I'll accept your deal, but counter offer one of my own. If you lose you need to send me a picture of you IRL!" He would strike a pose, pointing at her challengingly. "Does that sound like a fair deal to you you?"

He could hear his heart pounding in his chest, thump thump thumping nervously as he hoped his bluff would parry her request back at her. He wasn't ready to show anyone his real self, not yet. He forced himself to swallow back the panic, his face becoming a steal vault blocking any and all emotions aside from his cocksure grin plastered over his face.

It wasn't like she hadn't heard his real voice, he's spent a couple late nights up texting with her, or chatting with her over the phone while she was lonely, part of the promise he'd made her during their first time hanging out. So it wasn't like she didn't KNOW Olivier, she just didn't know what he looked like per se.

Her grin only widened upon seeing the change on his eyes, the rabbit very much aware that she had managed to hit a real wager this time. "Of course I'll go for gold Brutus-nii, I'm part the Guild remember~?" A hand grasped the golden tags adorning her neck, emphasizing her point with a playful wink.

SHe couldn't deny a part of her was curious as to who was the person behind the avatar, having found herself texting the player more and more with every passing day since they had fist exchanged contact information. It was always simple things, and their time zone difference often meant they'd wake up to messages from the other as a result, but as she shared glimpses of her life—and received some of his in return—Toko's curiosity had only increased.

"Mmm... wakata." She had expected a counter of sorts, but this time around Toko had been ready for it—after all she wouldn't have upped the stakes had she not been willing to bet the same. "... but then I don't need to call you senseeh, deal?"

God fuck.

The giant grinned, finishing his stretches he would take a few lumbering steps up to her with a hand extended as his heart beat a million miles per minute. It was infinite risk vs infinite reward. He could get a glimpse at the woman behind the mask, but she could potentially get a look at the man behind the mask.

Thump Thump Thump.

He swallowed dryly as the rabbit took his hand with a teasing grin, he gave her mitts a firm squeeze locking eyes with her, a new fire alit within him.

He would not lose.

"How about if I absolutely blow you out on a fight you call me Sensei...and if I get absolutely beat the fuck out by you in a fight you can...make me call you something, I don't know, maybe Dear of something embarrassing like that?"

He was hoping the psychological jab would throw her off her balance, maybe giving him an edge over her.

He was hard to read, that poker face of him doing uite the marvelous job at hiding the Felis' true feelings on the matter... but he hadn't said no, and so the Lepus assumed this was a risk he was at least willing to take.

That or he was far more prideful than Toko had anticipated.

The mischievous grin remained present in her face as her hand stretched out to meet his, the handshake firm as they locked in their wager for the day. She was confident in her abilities, even if he was bigger and built with more power.

"N-Nani...?"

The sudden addendum to the bet had caused some initial confusion as it caught her off guard, the faintest of blushes coloring her cheeks, before the Lepus quickly narrowed her eyes as she looked up at Brutus. He was trying to tease her again, much as he often did, but this time Toko decided to rise to the challenge instead of letting him dictate the pace.

"Wakata, but instead of 'dear' it'll be daarin'... and for a whole week~"

Aha, she'd activated his trap.

"Wakata, Wakata..." he would pull her forward towards him and lean down, his mouth right by her ear as his breath tickled her cheek. "Whatever you say Daaaaarling~" He would linger, having invaded her personal space for way too long, his chest mere micrometers away from hers. As he pulled away, he would give her a smirk, his feline eyes narrowing predatorily like a cat playing with a mouse.

"Though now that you mention it, I think we should make that an even Ante eh? Either of us gets beat the fuck out they have to call the other Darling?" He would waggled his eyebrows at her, not breaking his eye contact as he backpedaled away from her creating some space between the two of them. He would crack his neck and roll out his shoulders, preparing himself to fight as if his fucking life depended on it.

... he's planning something.

There was a faint shift, almost imperceptible, but it caused the Lepus ears to perk up even as her eyes narrowed slightly. She wasn't sure what it was but something had seemed to change, those red eyes looking at Brutus with suspicion as he copied her Japanese words. His hand had reached out for her before the rabbit had time to notice, his frame suddenly much closer than Toko had expected, before she felt his breath tickle her ears as he spoke.

O-Ochitskeee!

Badump badump!

The heat immediately rose to her cheeks and even the base of her ears, her heartbeat skipping a beat or two before erratically pumping in her chest. ... zurui!!! The nervousness Toko felt was quite hard to hide on her face as Brutus finally stepped back, her ears folding backwards as Toko adverted her gaze from the feline with a visible frustrated pout.

That's cheating...!

Still she had already come this far... there was no way Toko was going to take an L now, not after getting to this point. "F-Fine... I was planning on winning a-anyways!" With that she quickly moved back towards the clearing, her heart still thumping a mile a minute, before taking her place as Toko took a few deep breaths.

Ochitske... you got this!

Like a fucking fiddle. Well, a really cute fiddle.

The giant would give the Lepis a bow, and this time instead of rushing right for her. He would slowly raise his body up, and take a few swagger filled, sauntering steps towards the Bunny. He would give her a cocksure grin, like he was about to blow her a kiss.

Then

Woosh, his foot shot forward planting itself in the Lepus' gut sending her tumbling backwards. He would grin slightly, his eyes narrowing to slits. "Come on Darling~" He would croon, "Are you gonna get flustered every time I whisper sweet nothings to you? Or you want to beat me?"

This was borderline heel behavior, but honestly, he was deriving great pleasures from teasing the poor Lepus with his showboating. He was feeling confident, there was no way this could blow up in his face. None at all.

She could still feel the heat in her cheeks, the feeling of his breath tickling her ears still fresh in her mind before the Lepus ears flickered in response. Ochitske, you have a fight to win! It was obvious that he was just teasing her in order to throw Toko off, no doubt thinking that way he'd win the match easily... and Toko hated that it seemed to be working.

"A-All right, ready?!"

The pitch of her voice was just a little louder that the rabbit intended, mentally cursing again as she tried to calm down, before the odd movement of Brutus suddenly caught her attention. "N-Nani...?" What was he doing, and why was he walking like that...? He was planning something, she was sure of it, but unfortunately Toko wasn't fast enough reacting when a foot suddenly came in her direction.

"Hnnng!"

Yisus Christ, the man really hit like a truck... Toko groaned, the Lepus taking a second to regain her breath before her eyes narrowed as Brutus taunted her once more. There were no words as the rabbit suddenly shot forwards full speed, leading Brutus to believe that she was going to strike from a low point, before shifting her stance at the last moment to deliver a high kick into the Felis' face.

Hahaha, nothing could possibly go wrong in this situation, Brutus though to himself, right as he got kicked in his face. His taunting had paid dividends at first, but the Lepis gone and kicked him in his god damn smug face. He recoiled back in pain, grunting slightly as he could feel some blood begin to ooze from his nose, but he would have to address that later.

He had a fight to win.

Instead, he would grab her leg before she could retreat it back to solid ground, and hoisted the rabbit into the air like a sack of flour and SLAMMED her down on the ground over his shoulder. He felt a bit of guilt, surely a blow like that would knock the wind from her, but she'd probably just broken his nose, so...fair?

Was she angry? Well, maybe... probably, considering the grin that tugged at her lips as her kick connected with the Felis' face. Said grin though was promptly erased as his hands grabbed onto the leg before Toko could pull it back, the rabbit finding herself entirely airborne for all of two seconds, before she was getting swung back into the ground full force.

"Itaiyooo!"

She barely had time to try and brace for the incoming impact, the force enough to knock the air out of her lungs even as Toko's eyes teared up slightly. That had, honest to god, actually fucking hurt! "Leggo of my leg!!!" Her words held a hint of frustration as the Lepus kicked back onto the chest of Brutus, though try aqs she might she was unable to actually get her foot free from his grasp.

The giant would give the rabbit a gentle tug on her leg, dragging her closer to him as she kicked angrily at his chest. Her kicks would find no purchase as he would simply grab both her arms and pin her. He would spend a moment, panting as blood dribbled from his nose just to the left of her, staining the grass red. It took a moment, but when he realized the expression on her face, his slitted eyes widened and he immediately let go of her arms and rose to his feet, offering her a hand up as well.

"Fuckin..." He spat some blood onto the grass. "Gomen... I got a little carried away with the...everything there." His cheeks flushed red slightly as he scratched the back of his head. After a moment, Sam would hop over and begin medic duty again and the lion would turn back to her sheepishly.

"Are you okay?"

Toko's attempts at getting free proved to be quite futal, the rabbit dragged closer before the Felis pinned her down successfully and ending the match. A part of Toko wasn't sure what hurt the most right now, her back or her pride. The Lepus' breaths were still shallow and ragged as Toko recovered from the impact against the ground, but she eventually stilled as the larger frame of Brutus covered her own.

Badump...!

She could feel the warmth of his body from how close they now where, and it caused her heart to flutter in response—she was still flustered from his teasing, though that was probably no surprise considering how quickly she'd lost this round. The moment seemed to last for what felt like forever, until eventually Brutus placed some distance between them as the lion got back to his feet. With a groan Toko moved to a sitting position, before a hand gingerly took hold of the one Brutus offered as he helped the fighter to her feet.

"It's f-fine... I'm fine."

He would turn to her, his blue eyes scanning her body. "No it's not, I got way too rough with you there." He would stoop to get on eye level with her, scooping her chin so he could peer into her eyes. "You didn't hit your head too hard did you? Or break a rib when I slammed you?" He would gently brush the grass off her as he made sure she was okay, a look of extreme concern easily plastered across his face..

"I..." he paused, setting Sam on her shoulder and bumping him to the high healing setting watching as the frog hummed and crackled with healing magic. He wanted to come up with words to apologize, but the cat had his proverbial tongue as he tried to string sounds together with his mouth. After a while of uselessly trying to mouth words he would tut, scowling as he turned away and stormed off to the shack.

"How about we take a break for a snack or something?" He finally managed. "Let Sam work his shit and uh...cool our jets."

There was a wince as she got up, her back feeling really sore, though it wasn't until the Felis took Toko's chin into his hands that the Lepus finally looked back at him. "N-No... it just hurts a little, that's all." There was a pout to her face and the frustration was almost palpable in the tone of voice... she wasn't quite happy about losing that last round.

When Brutus reached over with Sam the Lepus arms moved to grab the frog, cradling him in her arms instead of letting the Felis place the magitech creature on her shoulder—first because that actually hurt, but also because she was rather fond of Sam.

"Y-Yeah... a break is probably a good idea."

She watched the Felis storm off in the direction of the shack, remaining where she was for a few moments before Toko moved back to sit by the unlit campfire as before. "Itai..." Even with Sam's healing working some movements still caused her to wince, a slow and deep exhale leaving the Lepus' lips.

Brutus would come lumbering out of the shack after a bit with two plates, each bearing a large sandwich and some apple slices. He would find the woman sitting by the fire, and would gently hand her the plate, frowning. "You know I heard you from the shack." He would simply set his plate on his seat before squatting by the firepit and started to build a small fire.

"Perhaps it would be best if we called the rest of today off? I think that we're going to hurt eachother too much for Sam to keep up with if we keep this rate up." His words left his lips with a sense of caution rather than anything like pity.

"I don't want either of us to hurt the other too much." He bit his lip as he snapped his finger, igniting the wood. With the fire started he would stand up, grab his plate, then take his seat, eying Toko as he took a bite out of his sandwich.

"E-Eh...?"

There was a look of surprise on her face when the lion called out to her, the Lepus sure she had been whispering low enough that she doubted her own ears would've caught her words if she'd been all the way over by the shack... just how good was Brutus hearing?!

"Ah, i-iie!" As the plate was held out in her direction Toko took it carefully, using her knees as a rest of sorts since Sam was currently cuddled up in the middle of her lap. "It's okay, we can keep going."

She grabbed the sandwich, taking a small bite out of it before chewing, quietly watching as Brutus prepared the firepit and then lit it up with a snap. "... gomen, Brutus." The words were spoken softly, almost inaudible—though she was sure the Felis could probably hear them given his insane senses.

"I got carried away back there... I shouldn't have kicked you in the face that hard."

The giant sighed. He would casually rise to his feet. He would casually roll his rock with one hand as if it weight nothing, scooting it around the fire and stopping next to the rabbits seat. He would plop down next to her and slightly lean into her, wrapping and arm around her pulling her into a side hug.

"Gomen nothing Toko, I'm the one who got you all riled up..." He chewed his lip a bit and shook his head. "I just..." he trailed off. "It's really fun to tease you. How you get all flustered and everything is kinda cute. I can't help myself And then that fight escalated so quickly that I really hurt you, I mean...we hurt eachother but still...I'm the one who created that situation"

He sighed.

"Can I...tell you a secret?" He let that hang in the air, the wind picking up and causing the tree's to rustle. He bit his lip hard enough it began to bleed slightly, Sam's magic going towards healing it.

"Iie... you were just bantering, nothing different from what I did."

She watched him roll his rock seat until it was besides her, moving the small boulder like it was almost weightless, before the giant sat back down before pulling the Lepus into a side hug. She sighed, letting her head tilt to the side and rest against the lion.

"I'm the one that reacted childishly..." Her old sensei had always warned her about that, it was never good to lose control of one's emotions... even less when sparring with friends. "... and I'm the one that intentionally kicked you hard in the face first."

Yes, she'd been upset at the time—but that wasn't a pass to suddenly stop holding back on her hits.

"I really shouldn't have done that."

His next words caused the fighter to straighten her head, looking up now at the Felis with a curious look in her eyes. "S-Sure...? Only if you want to, though." She wasn't sure what was on Brutus' mind, but seeing the way he was biting into his lower lip it seemed to be something serious.

"Brutus... are you alright?"

"I feel guilty," He managed to mutter. "Because..." he took a deep breath. "In real life I'm really fucking short. Like, shorter than most of the women I dated short. I used to get teased and bullied a lot for being a scrawny toothpick of a guy, easy to bully and harass because I didn't have any way of fighting back sort of shit." He paused, clenching his fist slightly.

"So when I...made Brutus, I wanted to be all the things I wasn't in the real world. I wanted to be a hero, I wanted to be big and strong and macho. I wanted to make sure I would never feel weak and powerless again." His gaze hardened a bit. "But here I am, picking on you. I learned how to tease you and I found it fun and I pushed you into a situation like this and it's my fault. Because I got a little taste of power and abused it."

He took a deep shuddering breath. "Please forgive me."

She listened as he spoke, a look of surprise crossing her eyes as the lion besides her delved into why he had made his avatar the way it was. A sympathetic smile pulled at the corners of her lips as Toko heard him out, and a part of her now understood why he's seemed flustered at first when she had made her own wager.

"Gomen, I wouldn't have suggested an IRL picture if I'd known it was a big ask... I was just curious to see how you were back in our world."

Had she expected him to be the same as his avatar? Of course not, after all Nao herself didn't exactly look like her own either to certain extents. However that was the fun thing about games, she had realized, they allowed people to live out fantasies and dreams they would otherwise not be able to experience in the real world. "It's okay, really, I'm not mad with you or at you at all." Her head leaned closer once more, resting against the Felis as he kept them in a side hug.

"Besides I don't exactly hate it... I just got a bit too flustered this time around."
