THE STELLAR REACTOR
Cycle 0 - Before the Sunrise

Ssssssss…

The city burns, but not with fire. Light-bleached stone hisses as it erodes beneath a fluorescent glare, edges worn smooth as solid matter sublimates into gas. The shapes of the city are mere suggestions of what must have been here once, a silhouette drawn in three dimensions. Anything lesser than stone and metal has long since evaporated, consumed by a light without heat.

Across this city you’ve marked a path cloaked in shadow. Feeble as the shade is, it is enough to shield you. Here, the long shadow of a toppling tower crosses a road. There, the pockmarked darkness of a iron tree's branches stretch across a plaza. And when all else fails, the buildings themselves provide refuge, leaving you to walk through places built for people but without any of their comforts.

Without it all, you would surely burn away. Not even ash would remain.

And then, at last, your path leads to the heart - the source of this scourge of light. There is something distinctly modern to its design, with its concrete towers and bending metal poles. The echoes of a nuclear power plant can be seen within its shape. Certainly they exist within its story.

The Stellar Reactor, or so the book had called it. A remnant of an ancient time where man would go so far as to capture the light of the heavens, and twist it to their own purposes. Their names and history have been all but lost to memory, as are any details of their ignoble end. But standing here, it is easy to guess what led to their destruction. A meltdown is a familiar disaster.

For now, the corridor is clear, devoid of the light that cut it. You have a moment here to prepare, to plan, to dream and dread the future. But only a moment.

A reckoning will not be postponed indefinitely.

When a devilish fear sows the seeds of its own damnation, even angels may strip their wings. The paralysis of conundrum enforces a twisted meditation upon all, and at the apotheosis of one's path, hesitation scorches disorder into the symmetry within the muse's heart. Oh, the febrile terror of it all! It was a mutation within the transfiguration, thoughts peeling open the skin to molt into a new form, one that exposed the black, beating heart of the cyclopian fire. Burdens smothered the torch, ghoulish inferiority twisting what had once been an unshakeable convention, an empyrean conviction. And now, what else could be hefted but the distorted brilliance of a fallible artiste?

The whiteness welcomed him with its light, a plane of existence in which shadows had been so wholly banished. The Battle-Banner of Fallen Embers trickled its ashen remnants upon his shoulder as he strode through landscapes familiar, landscapes unrendered alien. As of the product of an infantile diety, as of the product of an inert society, white towers blended with the white ceiling, only their proximity and their misaligned positioning allowing shades of gray to grand them texture. He traced his fingers along their surface as he strode onwards, waywards.

The Stellar Reactor. A nuclear reactor, remnant of the modernistic past that preceded Arcia. Now a scourge of star-flame, possessed with an animalistic rage that would consume even the Lord of Flame himself. And as well, a machine, formed of technologies familiar, understandable, replicatable. In a time where Magia were the enemy, such science could not be let live. For if the machines were possessed with nuclear power, power that did not rely on substances so measured and constant as the mana that permeated the atmosphere, only a nightmare of a scorched world would remain.

A world that he could leave, but she could not.

Ashes trailed his journey towards the light, and a soft song whispered in his wake.

Welcome us with your light
Grace the morning sky
Comfort Luna,
As she wanes in Terra's might.

He will plunge this alabaster city in a darkness infinite, if that was it would take.

Having lived in Terrasphere for so long, and regularly hopping between all three human regions. Magi Heart picked up many things. Small tidbits of information here and there. Unfortunately, none of this was anything she could wrap her head around easily, especially with memories coming and going daily in her shattered mind.

Wendel carried the most knowledge of the duo, having actually gone through the experiences in a more conscious way. So when it was learned that an entire lost city existed somewhere in Arcia... it didn't surprise her nor did she really care at all. The past was uninteresting and useless to her. It was Wendy that really wanted to see it, and the fact it could prove dangerous to the world she now lived in only motivated her further.

It was... bright to say the least. This immediately annoyed Wendel and she covered herself in a shadow to grant shade to her dark vision. Dissonance and Stars weren't exactly on the best of terms and maybe this was why Wendel thought. Pesky glaring thing...

A slow, painful death. That's the one kind I don't want to see.
Then we can work together to do something about it right?
This is the closest I've ever seen to that world...
Yeah... it's not really like this but maybe a little? It's a lot more white here and um... dystopic? I think this is what nuclear war might look like... after the big mushroom.
A what? An aura then... from an astral source not a dissonant one... cool beans.
C-Cool beans?
Yeah, now I have a way of dealing with that stuff...
I don't think it's really that similar but I do feel magic here.

Magi Heart had transformed before even entering this place. The dangerous premonitions were strong with this one and she had enough experience to know that much. Luckily... she wasn't alone for this. Stars would meet again as they always did and her soul bond with @Seigi Ling Ling told her that her friend was close.

...and of course, where Seigi was, @Cain Darlite wasn't far behind.

This Dissonant Magi used shadow stepping to avoid being overly exposed and brought her to meet those who she could feel nearby.

"Gee whiz look who it is. Do you always jump into fire? ...Raina-chan's here too right? She can't let anything happen to people persons. ...this time I'm all for blacking out this weird stuff. This isn't the kind of end we want."

Wendel noticed very little pull for control by Wendy. She smirked mentally hard enough for it to show on her face physically.

What's wrong? *Giggle* Wowzers are you shy all of a sudden?
No! I just... umm...
I can handle it entirely if you want♥?
unh-uh.

"Others are coming right? You look different than I remember, but I guess we all change even if not on the outside. I hope it's for the better. Last time we met I was a tiny fairy person I think... I'm more put together now I promise hehe...he..."

How ironic it was that the first story to be told of a girl who wanted to emulate the role of a world's Star Chosen would be facing a Star of ancient times...

Fate has a sense of humor perhaps.

by. Vague structures indicated that there was civilization a long time ago, but why and when they got erased from the surface of Arcia was still a mystery. How? The Stellar Reactor.

The fact that the equivalent of nuclear power existed meant that the enemy might one day wield this technology against them, and so the woman pledged to delve into the underground. Perhaps its power can be replicated yet again. Only one way to figure it out.

Two people already were already way ahead of her, the Flagbearer @Cain Darlite and the Dissonant @Magi Heart, both already tangled with her in past adventures.

Great, already running into familiar faces.

Doesn't matter, it was her old self, a form she left behind after a painful transformation process. Now she wore a different visage, and changing how she sounded was easy enough with a touch of Harmonic Magic.

Easy in theory, but both of them shouldn't recognize her, or so she hoped. After dispelling her worries, 'Moonsong' approached the two, and with a modified, gravelly voice, she greeted them like total strangers.

"Are you two here to investigate the reactor, too?"

This place felt oddly nostalgic. If only the scorched white was instead the cold steel and vibrant neons of her home, one could argue there was even a reason to tear up! Not that she hadn't lost hope to return home one day.

Nonetheless, in all her adventurers through Terrasphere, seeing imprints of modern society was one of the biggest rarities, ever. And having heard that, the girl couldn't just leave this place alone. Potential clues were potential clues, after all.

A nuclear star, short of a fiery rebirth that was sure to consume more than just the strange city they were standing upon. It was a given that only suicidal people and/or those with an extreme helping syndrome would take on such a quest. Good thing Seigi had both of those.

"Alright guys and gals! Listen up!" Seigi suddenly spoke up. Today, she wasn't the Sunset Sage of Seven Strikes. Addressing everybody around them, her voice carried a certain magic. "We got a star to extinguish, now I know we're all pretty hype and super confident. But let me tell you this: Comfort's the biggest threat to your own strength. A strong feeling of power can make you lose your sense of danger and threat. This in turn invites weakness. BUT worry not, you've got your number one fan, Seigi, with you to cheer you and AND advise you." She was striking an idol-like pose, giving everybody a wink and peace sign!

"Just remember: If it doesn't break, you simply punch harder!"

What the f*ck is wrong with you?!
It's called a motivational speech!

Unlike @Magi Heart, Seigi was still covered in layers of clothes, for now.

Preparing

That place was beyond anything Ruby would imagine finding in Terrasphere.

A pseudo-medieval fantasy world, that in reality was far too advanced, with technology so advanced that surpassed real life, at the same time that Magic, herculean strength, and enhanced abilities made the less technologically advanced characters and kingdoms of that game world be at the same level of power.

Ruby allowed those facts to make her curiosity linger for a handful of minutes, before @Seigi Ling Ling's loudness caught her attention.

"A resilient advice. It will be a tough one, so we just need to be tougher, right..?" She muttered. "... How does one even fight a star though?" Ruby wondered, unsheathing her blade and drawing her thumb on it, taking a deep breath ,and swiftly swaying her sword in a choreography movement, creating a dynamism flow that boosted the speed of a few before turning and casting a glance at the group.

"We may have a swift advance." She said, then focusing on @Kyra Vashtana.

"Let's try to stand together."

And she darted off.

Kyra nodded towards a few of the others that she remembered from...well, it had been some time, for a few of them. She was pleased to see Moonsong, and past the brutal woman was Cain - Kyra tilted her head towards the other, a small smile on her face. Some of the others were new to her - and she glanced over each of them briefly, before turning her attention towards...

Is that...a nuclear reactor?

She tilted her head as she took in the visage before them, something that seemed entirely out of this world. TerraSphere had always come across medieval fantasy, at least from her own experiences with it. This was...well, this felt more like Magia involvement. The entire thing put Kyra immediately on edge, and she almost missed Ruby dashing off, leaving her with little more than a warning.

I swear to the gods if you die, I'm going to haunt you for years to come...

She gave a quick twirl of her scythe, before stepping off after Ruby; not moving anywhere near as quick as the smaller catgirl, but placing herself towards the front of the group in an attempt to step between them and any danger that may lay ahead.

I am but the One Who Guides...it is not Judgement in which I bring, but rather Solitude; in ever after peace.

She muttered to herself as the small orb floated above her shoulder, whispering words as it always dide.

We do not...come to destroy...but rather to release...that which hides in the shadows fears only what it cannot see...be not afeared, small ones...

THE STELLAR REACTOR
Cycle 1 - Gathering Mass

A time to breathe, a time to convene. But even as you complete your preparations, you can feel the weight of whatever you’re about to face, a presence so thick it’s nearly physical.. A flickering vision of the stellar void for those who bear the blessing of the stars. Simmering rage and hatred for those attuned to the harmonies of the world.

And for all, the sense of being seen. An alien awareness, pressing down from without. You are being watched, and watched unkindly.

The maw of the reactor looms. The time has come to enter.

Once upon a time, a star fell from the heavens.

Smallest and weakest of its kin. Banished for breaking laws incomprehensible to us. Too dim to scour the earth, and too tired to try.

A light that would have soon faded, had it not been found.

That day, the star learned of men.

For all the intricacy of the reactor, the interior is bare-bones. Whatever complication was here has long since boiled away.

A circular chamber greets you, its walls scoured as white as the city outside. Light scintillates across the whiteness, and it is only the long shadow stretching from the center of the room that spares you its burn.

Four totems rise around the center of the room, carved from black stone. Their surface seems to absorb all light, save for the intricate runes etched into their surface. Light flows across those channels like water, marking ancient characters and a single runic eye.

All face inwards, looking at their charge.

A star, as you all know, is a sphere of plasma, a nuclear reaction held together by its own density. An object of impressive size and impossible distance, casting a light of which we only see the memory.

suneater3.png
But what stands in the center, circled by dark runes and ethereal chains, looks human. Far larger than any human you know, but if not for that you might think this something more conventional.

…and yet, there is something wrong about it. The metal crawls with runes, flowing and twisting like living things. What isn’t bound by metal shimmers and wavers, a facsimile of flesh that barely holds under scrutiny. Light seeps from the cracks, flowing like tears and hissing as they drip to the ground. This light has been bound, yet those bindings have grown weak…

As you enter, it turns its head towards you. That false face twists into a scowl.

“⠠⠗⠑⠇⠂⠎⠑⠀⠍⠑⠲”

What spills from its lips are not words. It is the crackle of flame and the hiss of radio. The song of a star, meant to cross endless void, echoes through the chamber.

And then, with a resounding crack, one of them shatters like glass and collapses, leaving a pile of black rubble.

The shadow cast by what remains of the fallen relict protects you, but the hiss of star-tongue grows louder and more insistent. The light grows harsh as the sealed star struggles, pulling against the magic binding it.

“⠠⠗⠑⠇⠂⠎⠑⠀⠍⠑⠖”

From behind the entity, light spreads like wings. only to grow dark as binding magic flows and twists across their surface. But even in that darkness the light shines through - eyes opening through the cracks to gaze your way.

There’s no going back.

Shadows, errant and spectacular, snaked behind him, a familiar face emerging from the darkness, accompanied by a…familiar intonation as well. It was amazing, perhaps, how people could change even without effort on his part. It was amazing too, that @Magi Heart could speak like this.

It was a strange world they were all living in, wasn't it? Cain spared a smile in her direction, his ashen eyes smouldering with the warmth of embers. "You've grown so much bigger since last time," the Flagbearer spoke. "I'll trust your arrows to reach what my spells cannot reach then, little Savior."

Another stranger (@Moonsong), possessed by a grimmer visage, approached as well, voice rumbling like a mountain. A mountainous voice, a voice that resonated with something steel-like upon her. His gaze lingered upon her chest, where that strange resonance persisted, then cast aside his own thoughts. They were all moths, drawn to the flame. Seeking to consume the light before they turned to ash. "There's little to investigate." A Hero's voice sounded brightly through the alien landscape. Her spirit was still one that could not be stifled, after all, no matter how maddening their surroundings are, no matter what a modern education taught them of the threat that nuclear reactors presented. "As @Seigi Ling Ling says, it's just a matter of punching it."

Whether with auras heroic or blessings dynamic, it was always a matter of violence in the end. So, he steeled himself, a flagbearer even with the banner spun around the staff. A valiant, warding off death with only a well-tailored suit. His footsteps echoed. The structural maw consumed them all. And as they strode into the shadow of the monolith, the imprisoned monstrosity made known its scorn.

The static of stars, a symphony distorted. The whispers of the cosmos, felt upon the skin rather than heard by one's ears.

It was a woman.

These days, it was always a woman.

Cain scowled and stoked up his hatred, toss emotions into the pyre. Cosmic hatred swirled into the vortex of taboo he held in his hands, that sublimating light spinning like threads into the fated coil. If this chained elemental could feel, then it could feed, and his desecrating spellwork would thank it for that. Catastrophic cascades condensed into an erratically-flaring black star before him, and Cain crushed that in his hands, baptizing his Battle-Banner with the blasphemous nebula.

Twas a curse indeed, one that rooted itself in the elemental's own spite, and the Flagbearer sprung out from the shadows, empowered by Seigi's words and Ruby's guidance. The light seared, but only for a moment, and then he was upon the Relict of Misery, swinging the Battle-Banner downwards!

The Astral Banner unfurled.

Not to depict a scene of wonder, but rather to display disaster, its myriad threads bursting outwards in an explosion of star-forged filaments.

The Relict released a singular pulse in retaliation and then crumbled into a heap of equally-sized cubes.

"Take down the rest!" Cain called, his voice like thunder, like nova. "It's drawing power out from those Relicts!"

A burst of light, an appearance of numerous forms, and then Kyra found herself standing behind a large structure that blocked out some of the light. Small dots still played across her eyes as she tried to register what had occurred. She could hear, and barely see, the forms of those around her dashing out into the light and shifting towards...were those targets?

Slowly, her vision came back to her, and Kyra took a true look over the field around them. She could see the large pillars that seemed to hover on the edges of...was that a female standing in the centre? Kyra blinked twice, trying to figure out what exactly she was looking at, before the words from @Cain Darlite seemed to explode into the air, causing Kyra's ears to flatten and a hiss escape her lips in response.

Fine...I'll take the one on the left, so long as no one minds me Guiding it.

She didn't wait for a response, choosing instead to leave the cover of the structure behind and stepping into the blistering light. She felt the tingling as the light seemed to singe her fur and skin slightly, before putting the feeling out of her mind. It was nothing in comparison to the pain she endured with her own healing magic.

Come...let us take this one to the world beyond, so that it may...rest, forever...

Kyra nodded as Draoi whispered its words, the voice bringing a slight goose bump to her skin as it always did. She didn't respond, knowing that it wouldn't hold a conversation with her while their focus was on bringing down the thing before them. Instead, she focused on reaching the pillar, focused on the movement of her scythe, and on her intentions.

I come to guide you to the life beyond this one, where you may rest in solitude, and let this suffering life leave you behind...

She spun as she approached the thing, bringing her blade up and around, before the light caught her eye. She felt herself slip ever so slightly, sliding backwards and barely catching the pillar with her strike as she tried to fight against the pain in her head that was slowly growing. Blasted light...

Ruby glanced behind her back, gazing at @Kyra Vashtana, and allowing her Primal Aura to send a comforting feeling, letting the vixen girl know she wouldn't be throwing her life away so easily.

Whatever they were going to face, however, was clearly no ordinary threat. Ruby's grip on her blade tightened, and she darted off faster, faster... Until they met their destiny, nearly blinding the cat girl that struggled to keep her balance at first, trying to get used to the sight before forcing even faster steps.

The large woman looked like a blur to Ruby as she continued her rush, reaching close to the first relict and wielding her blade, ready to try and destroy it with a single mighty blow.

However, something in it made her hesitate.

She quivered, pursing her lips and keeping some restraint before she swayed her blade and body in a slash, sending a cutting pulse toward it and snapping a piece off it, making its magic flicker, yet not entirely.

Just as soon as she finished her strike, she took a step back, summoning blood onto her blade and swirling it in a dance, making a scarlet trail that surrounded her and the magical girl that neared to finish the destruction of the relict.

"⠠⠗⠑⠇⠂⠎⠑⠀⠍⠑⠲"

A song, from a place far away, long long ago. She's speaking an ancient language of the stars, that the blue-haired woman could somehow understand perfectly. "Release me, she commanded." Not a moment after she relayed the message to the others, one of the relicts binding the female was broken.

"⠠⠗⠑⠇⠂⠎⠑⠀⠍⠑⠖"

This time, it was an order. Light quickly engulfed the circular chamber without any warning, the only cover was the ruins from the destroyed relict. The Flagbearer of Hope (@Cain Darlite) promptly alerted the group that it was drawing power from whatever those things were binding her.

"Right. Let's see if we can punch this one out." She replied to the man, as the mysterious stranger jumped out of the cover, bathing in the light to reach the one on the left that @Kyra Vashtana failed to break. She did remember that the vixen had some trouble fighting against light in the past.

"Move."

The stranger ordered the purple-haired fox to stay clear with a rumbling voice, as the stranger used both of her hands to harness the power of gravity, before pulling apart the Relict of Apathy with a sweeping, opening motion.

With the appearance of the being within the ethereal starlight now in sight. Magi Heart felt a mix of emotions. So it wasn't really a nuclear reactor at all? Wendy only had a middle school education but she had good grades and never once heard anything about big armored women being stored inside those things. Not that she even knew that much about how they worked regardless. They certainly weren't pokeballs.

Which meant this was going to be about magic and not science... whew. Good, things were confusing enough in her life as it was. Unlike a certain Tsun out in the world. Magi vastly preferred magic logic over logic logic...

It looked like others were all going about tasks to destroy the stage objects placed deep into the light. Wendel decided it was time to stop thinking so much. Her irritation with the presence of this thing grew by the second.

As she made her movements through the radiating star field. Wendel's shadowy aura from earlier became battered by the sheer power of it. She was not going to be able to match the light with her darkness here... damn it, it was like having to hide out in Tertoria all over again.

She had much growing to do.

"I come to guide you to the life beyond this one, where you may rest in solitude, and let this suffering life leave you behind..."

Magi's red eye took in this scythe-wielding doggo @Kyra Vashtana and her abyssal orb. For the first time in a while, it looked like she was not the only reaper here.

"...End it then. As fast as you can! Don't let even any ghost it leaves behind remain. Suffering doesn't end just because you die."

A stream of shadow smashed into the Relict of Fear like a line drawn across the land of white. Was this what it would be like... if she had ever had to...

Not important now...

Of course. The insides of the reactor were anything but like the actual thing. Not that Seigi had ever visited one before. Of course, their apparent opponent was a maiden forged by the Stars itself. There was always a sliver of hope, and an intent, to resolve possible conflict with those that showed signs of reasoning.

Don't bother.

But in this case, their Starforged enemy was clearly only humanoid in form. A husk of something that had maybe once been. OR- "Aliens!" Seigi spoke out aloud and pointed at her. Well, just as usual, they could always try the reasoning approach after a good beating.

The same way you'd calm down a rabid animal... maybe.

"Alright..." Seigi was about to speak up, but her party already moved. @Cain Darlite pretty much summarized what Seigi was thinking too. Instead, Seigi dug one of her bandaged arms into the pockets of her hoodie, focusing strength into her fist.

"Slaughter—"

The inaudible sound of a gemstone breaking, as her hidden hand started to glow, slowly engulfing all parts of her clothes as it changed shape and form into a more Magitek-like form. Chanting a song barely audible. It was seething with passion, but somehow weirdly out of synch.

DghOBfp.png

"A girl stands tall, her heart ablaze

But her flame consumes, with deadly grace

A burning passion, a fierce desire
Destroying all in its fiery embrace
To reach for the stars and never tire
And have her dreams expire.
— IGNITION!"

With her chant done, and her hair shining, she was quick to move. Covered by @Lune to move from one cover to the next she was sure to stop close to @Kyra Vashtana who was recovering from her attack.

Pat

It wasn't the obessive oh-my-gosh-so-cute kind of head pat. But more akin to a gentle head rub, acknowledging one's deeds.

"You did super good!" Seigi replied with a bright and gentle smile, her eyes wandering to the orb. She didn't know any details, but- "Just remember: You're the one in control here! Now do it again, but even betterer. Let's aim for the very stars themselves!" Kyra could feel that Seigi also wasn't alone. Though her simple words seemed to carry a certain type of magic.

Nonetheless, she carried on. Unlike the other people in her party, Seigi wasn't too keen on getting a sunburn.

THE STELLAR REACTOR
Cycle 2 - Collapse

Across the arena the Starcalled dance, eyes set upon the relics that circle the room. Despite the magic that lashes out in defense, despite the scorching light that threatens to blind them.

A banner unfurls. Against the light of the stars, Cain brings forth the chill of the void between. As the relict collapses, the magic screams forward, a web of magic looking for an outlet. The burn of starlight and ancient magic courses through his veins, pain followed by the weight of foreign sorrow.

It is the sin of mankind to see itself in all things.

The chains of MISERY were shattered

The song of stars rings in @Lune’s ears as the next relict is ripped apart. Shards fall away, only to rise once more, drawn to her like asteroids in orbit. They do not touch, but she still feels their weight, emanating feeling that blunts her movement and motivation both…

But a star is beyond joy and sorrow. This was an intolerable truth.

The chains of APATHY were shattered

Light bears down on @Magi Heart’s shroud of shadow, ripping its edges as if it were a physical thing. But not even the light of a star could consume her torrent of darkness. The final relict shudders as the traces of light are ousted by the flood of shadows. Light that flows like water across Magi, burning through her like a silent scream…

If man could find no mirror in its blinding radiance...

The chains of TERROR were shattered

Then it would be made.

CONTAINMENT FAILURE

The once chained star collapses to the ground, no longer suspended by the chains of magic. The pop, pop of light spurting through cracking metal fills the air, flowing and gathering as a pool of blinding white. Steam rises from the blackened armor that still strains to bind the star, even as starlight carves bleached channels through its surface.

What magic could still hold, with those bindings broken? It does not take long to see the reason. Where all other shadows are cast out and away from the star's brilliant light, three shadows instead flow towards that star. The silhouettes of Cain, Lune, and Magi join together beneath their foe.

The star knows. The star hates. And bound to the star as they are, they can feel that hate, growing and gathering.

It rises from the ground, wings wrapped around it like a cocoon. Eyes crack open between the feathers, crying tears of light as their gazes dance wildly across the room.

"⠠⠠⠃⠥⠗⠝⠲"

The wings snap open, and the room erupts with blinding light.

There can be no sight amidst this light, but there is sensation, and smell, and sound.

Around them, stone cracks and bursts. Unable to hold any more heat, the ruined relicts instead release it, emanating searing heat towards the ones who hoped for shelter against it. To the south comes a cacophony of crackling as the first of the relicts crumbles into useless rubble.

The light fades. The shadows, weak and grey as they are, slowly return. And in the center of the room, the captured star stretches its wings once more.

Light churns and bubbles from the armor like a fountain. A head forms, distorts, and melts away once more as shadow and light war against each other. Eyes boil across its surfaces like bubbles in water, bright and glaring before they are gone. There is something frantic in their motion, as if unable to accept the people still standing in the room.

"⠠⠠⠝⠀⠠⠠⠢⠲⠲⠦"

It raises armor-bound arms, spheres of light coalescing and spinning around it like planets in orbit. Outward they spiral, growing in size and flaring into life. Stars born from a star circle the room, radiating their own light. A star spins wildly around it, emitting waves of pulsing energy. Unstable clouds swirl further away, seemingly moments from collapse. A final sphere skirts the edges, warping the space around it.

"⠠⠠⠃⠐⠗⠻⠲"

And then it moves, dragging itself towards @Kyra Vashtana, the pesky fleshling that would be so bold as to declare it could douse a star. Light rises from its surface in flowing currents, gathering together into a greater stream.

“⠠⠠⠆⠉⠕⠍⠑⠀⠠⠠⠙⠥⠌⠲”

That stream lashes forward, engulfing Kyra in incandescent fire...

The starfire was so brilliant that he had to look away.

Not from the nuclear flames that blistered his skin, seared his clothing, but from the fully realized presence of @Seigi Ling Ling, the natural charisma she possessed magnified tenfold by Harmonic magic. It was enough to make one feel religious, and it was enough to pull one towards blasphemy. It was enough to ground him once more, even as the weight of the void clawed at his organs, even as the weight of the world suffocated him wholly. Agony, in a word. Suffering, in a world.

He shook it off. He was no Flagbearer of great wit now. Just a common brute possessed by outsized arcanas. The stars that dwelled within him expanded outwards to blot out the void, and his muscles strained, snapping the noose that weighed him to the world. He needed no pretty words here and now!

Stellar winds whipped up an all-consuming storm, the ends of his hair alight even as he took cover from the worst of the heat. The elemental, that embodiment of nuclear might, was released fully, its wrath limitless, its form that of the molten core of stars and planets, coated in interclocking plates of scorchsteel. And yet, even within the cascade of incandescence, the manifestation of more of its kind, it did not feel insurmountable. It was a storm that could be weathered still, and so, it was a storm to fight on through!

Leaping out from the shadows, Cain outran the unstable star that swept up from behind him, both hands upon his battle-banner once more. Three steps and he leapt upwards, higher than humanly possible. The debris around the arena surged towards him, drawn forth by ribbons of amethyst light, and he made it his hammer, his eyes aligning all disparate fates so that there were none in which his blow did not land.

Gravity rent the Quark Star, its incorporeal form stripped away by the meteor-staff, and Cain followed through, the ultra-heavy mass churning through the ground before ending up behind him. Shadow once more, hid him from sight.

And alone he was, but what of it?

"I'll handle the Quark Star!" The Vanguard's voice traveled, clearer than any celestial disdain. "@Crimson Ruby, @Kyra Vashtana! Support the tank best you can while keeping distance! The elemental's clearly targeting them!"

Solitude and disassociation were old friends of his.

And even alone, his power would only continue to ramp.

The light had become overwhelming, and as Kyra squinted against it she saw but one thing - the creature that had once stood amongst the centre, now appeared before her. Well within range of her strikes. Well within range of everyone else.

Blinding light...blistering bright...ever the fright...

She nodded at Draoi's words, before closing her eyes and letting her ears guide her. Stepping forward, she gave a quick test jerk of her scythe, making sure that her form was proper, making sure that she was ready. A deep breath in, and she was moving, sliding across the ground towards the odd humming sound that seemed to emanate from the thing that she could only consider a target, now.

I am but a guide among the path towards final peace...here to show you your rest, to provide you with the comfort of companionship. May you sleep, ever after.

She muttered the words, trying not to overcome the humming sound that guided her towards her target. Carefully, with a control that she felt only in this world, she swung the scythe upwards, towards her target. It seemed to float through the air, time passing unknowingly in her mind, before slashing against...something.

May the light...oh so bright...guide you onwards...leaving you without blight.

The Sea of White remained silent for only so much longer.
Misery, Apathy, Terror. One by one, they fell. With each monolith shattered, another ripple in the searing starlight. Interrupting Seigi's tranquil melody again and again. Until, finally, the newborn child shattered the very chains that had bound it. Unleashing but a taste of the Tsunami that was to come.

"Hold tight, everyone!" Seigi called out as she could feel the light searing away at her... except, her arms were still intact! Nonetheless, as the White Dwarf finished its transformation, Seigi could hear its song now more clearly than ever before. No. Music was quite wrong, but rather, a tantrum.

Like a newborn baby...

Its emotions were pure, yet shallow. A clear indication of the marks they had broken before. Something to keep in mind, though for now, Seigi wouldn't allow being outshined by some flailing baby! "Woah..." She couldn't help but be amazed at the miniature solar system around them, however. Clearing her throat, the girl moved now, too. Her voice was, too, loud and clear. Seemingly mixing two similar but distinct voices together as they became her background BGM. ♫~

"Redhair! Go and help Cain! True strength resides in those who believe in their own strength, and you have the power to kill a star!" She called out to the catgirl @Crimson Ruby, who never introduced herself by name!

"@Magi Heart, remember. Strength isn't the size of your body, it's the power of your heart!" By now, Seigi had found herself in the shadows.

"And could all of you JUST STOP-" Suddenly, the searing light lessened "-burning your bodies?! Heart and Soul are aplenty! That includes you, too, Orb Girl!" She realized she didn't know @Kyra Vashtana name either.

Blinding light and scorching pain made Ruby scream, gritting her teeth as she felt her skin and nearly soul burn with the intensity of the star. They freed that woman just so she would incinerate all of them to death?!

Her eyes widened further as she saw the enormous woman moving, eventually getting onto a position where shadows relieved the burns, with Ruby nearly stumbling prone as she sank her blade against the ground, using it to support herself as she breathed heavily. "Ah... D-Damn it, KYRA!" She called for the vixen, seeing the flare engulfing @Kyra Vashtana while Ruby shielded her own eyes from the light.

Fear quivered in her heart for a moment, but as soon as she spotted the reaper alive, her emotions calmed down.

Her ears perked up at the mention of 'redhair', shifting her gaze to @Seigi Ling Ling, and then looking to one of their allies, that was far, far away. One last heavy breath escaped from her lips, and she nodded to the girl that empowered her with inspirational words. "I've got him- And the name is Ruby." She pointed out, unsheathing her blade and holding her breath before darting out toward the light once again, feeling its intensity prickling her, now sensible, skin.

Squeezing the grip of her blade, it suddenly bleed, creating a scarlet trail similar to before just in time for Ruby to slash her blade across the smaller star, parting its shape in two in an attempt to dissipate it, then rolling closer to @Cain Darlite, making the hardened blood trail shield him from harm.

"I know you asked me to help the tank, but your friend is probably worried about you being all alone in here." She said, smiling briefly.

The relict broke apart, its shard orbiting around her. But something else also came with it, something coming from that being of light. An emotion, of hate. What was this being, really?

A star.

Feeling the heat of pure energy, the woman braced herself as her cloak that obscured her identity finally burnt away, not even leaving ashes behind. And the figure of a blue-haired warrior was then revealed to all the other people in the chamber.

The star unbounded sang again the song of their kind. Hateful and furious, it now stood tall in front of Lune, the moon. "What... is this immense amount of hate?"

The woman quickly hums her own starsong, as her left eye turned black, pulling everything around the vicinity spiraling into her eye. Even light cannot escape the might of gravity, turning the immediate spherical area around her pitch black.

Unable to contain all of the energy, Lune used her hand to expend most of it back into the White Dwarf as a blow of unrelenting force, pushing things around it, turning most of the shards and rubbles in the area into protection for @Kyra Vashtana. "Don't get too close to it!" She warned the reaper.
