"I almost got to the cap on the height slider, heh. Missing a few inches, I dunno how tall people can be this tall in the real world." Just missing a few more inches!

Fiora took note of the camera lens flicker Ronja's eyes did back at the entrance of the mines, and she was about to make a witty one liner, were it not for the urgency behind their task- Someone's in danger, and the least they need is to play around.

Only even that got replaced once something else got her attention: Ronja's arm, and Fiora held tight to her in order to give her the balance she needed, for as long as they could count with their safety that is. "Shh, keep it quiet..." She crouched down once they got too close to the mining grounds, her hand going back to the hilt of her blade, interrupted by the magia.

"Ronja's got this."

She gave her the 'bad feeling' stare, but nodded along. This could get ugly real quick, but if anything, catgirl Ronja came to save the day with that 'meow' that almost set her on a fit of giggles, a plated hand covering her lips as she waved her away.

Yup, everything went to shit in less than ten seconds, like she predicted.

That same stone dwarf rised it's war hammer once again, ready to try and smash Ronja into a pile of scrap, before Fiora made her rush in and went for a double dropkick right on it's face, sending it flat against the ground.

"Fuck that hurt me more than him I bet." She groaned, summoning a phalanx of arcane around the both of them, shields and spears to hold back the upcoming horde of stoney dwarves.

"Hey Ronja, permission to kill these fuckers granted!" She teased, unsheathing her blade and getting on stance.

Ronja's smile is being protected
-25 -13 HP from Retal

Ronja's eyes grew wide at the incoming war hammer, struggling to get out of the way and already wincing to brace herself for the worst. But like a gorilla knight in shining armor, Fiora stepped in just in time to save her. "F-Fiora?! D-Didn't that hurt?!" Ronja asked worriedly, reaching for her slingshot as she struggled to stand up.

The phalanx caught the Magia by surprise, and the words giving her the 'permission' to bring the dwarves down made her purse her lips with a firm nod. "Ronja got it-" And this time she actually did.

Slipping under Fiora's arms, Ronja was quick to snatch a piece of the rock dwarf that Fiora drop kicked, enchanting it intensely with cyan magical energy before slipping it in the slingshot, drawing it with as much potency as she could gather.

As soon as any opening in the phalanx was created, the dwarf attempting to invade it would have half of its face blown away by what almost seemed to be a railgun shot that went straight through its head, piercing air and obstacles alike until it struck the far more harden surface of the mine's wall.

-25 Retal SIKE, Ronja is protecting her therapist. -13HP
Impressed by how useful that slingshot is

Ronja's worries had her shoot a super-b smile and a thumbs up. She had to act like everything was under control to keep the panic at a minimum.

Of course, probably the only one panicking is herself, as it felt like a lost cause to try and rely on Ronja, her very own skepticism isolated her from teamplay on this one. She had to think, come up with something big. They were tearing her defenses apart, and one of them managed to breach through her arcane construct.

And then blue hairs nyoomed under her arms, with the magia tackling the issue head on with one magical dwarf framgnet to the face that blew the top of it clear like uncorking champagne, only the champagne is more like a rock soup to be honest. "Woah. Alright, yeah that thing works." She glanced back to the downed dwarf, and Ronja, and the dwarf, and the set of dwarves that came closer to avenge their fallen once her phalanx fell apart entirely.

Fiora's arms glowed as runes manifested and she summoned two sets of greatshields, literally shaped like doors, and slammed them together right infront of Ronja as she took the full role of defense. Pickaxes were sent it's was, piercing through her barrier and catching her a slight cut across the cheek.

If she hadn't tilted her head... No, no time to think about that.

"Hey Ronja." She gave her a look from over the shoulder, a trail of red running down her face that almost reached her flashy smile from the moment, like a sunshine that gained a new crimson palette to it "Knock knock." Seconds later, Fiora pulled her doorshields back and slammed them full force against both dwarves, the blunt impact forceful enough to leave them stunned from the sheer impact. It left them quite open, both of her shields shattered into fragments, an unspoken invitation to finish them off.

Ronja's smile is being protected
-25 -13 HP from Retal

"Of course it does, it is a slingshot!" Ronja breathed a laugh in awe and surprise, with the strike with the slingshot being much stronger than she initially intended.

But the joy didn't last for too long, with the protective shield that was the only thing that was saving them from being surrounded starting to falter.

Ronja glanced at Fiora, slightly concerned about what would come next as she quickly reached for another pebble on the floor, starting to realize that she probably should have made some ammo beforehand instead of trying to go empty handed.

"F-Fiora!" Ronja widened her eyes, seeing the pickaxe swinging dangerously close to her head that had just avoided a fatal blow, making Ronja stare angrily at the dwarves for a moment only to have her raising emotions interrupted by the woman calling her name.

"- Yes?"
She asked, puzzled until she spoke the punchline, followed by slamming the dwarves away.

With a huff of a laugh, Ronja stretched the sling as much as she could, with mana crackling on her hands and on the pebble as she nodded. "Nobody is home." She said, releasing the ammo that pierced through the air once again, exploding in impact with the dwarves in an overkill of a coup of grace.

Impressed by how useful that slingshot is x2

"Nobody is home."

BOOM!

And the dwarves were no more with one last pull from that slingshot. Her eyes went back to Ronja as if she had used some kind of cursed unknown powers beyond anyone's comprehension. But then, that idea didn't pitch so wrong in her mind afterall- If Ronja can weaponize slingshots like that, she grimaced at the idea of what would happen if the magia got her hands into an ACTUAL firearm.

Gods she's got magitech she can craft it herself... She gulped audibly.

"Well that's that." Tiresome eyes scanned through the scene of a massacre, if there were any blood beyond her own that is. The stone dwarves rested in pieces, and their peculiar weapons begun to 'melt', as if the rock turned into mercury, and this liquid begun to boil and sink onto the seams and cracks into the floor. "...Tell me I didn't just saw grey sentient water." Fiora glanced back at her, incredulous.

With little time to argue about it, or to lick their wounds, she gestured to the spiraling road that headed deeper into the mines only... The path didn't look like a mine anymore, and the air reeks of magic like none other they have faced before. What was once a pathway of rock and rails became a mere mass of black and purple, stars stamped against the walls that encircled them. A fragment of the galaxy itself, the flow only known to astronomers from the starcalled realm.

Ronja might sense it, if not 'see' the power of the stars, a dark magic syphoned straight into the abyss they were heading through, and in the distance? A faint light, a crystal sphere that rests on the epicenter of a chamber beyond the mapped trails of the mine itself, debris set aside and boulders were shattered to give entrance to this inner-sanctum. where all of the raw mana connected straight to this orb of sorts. And right inside of it?

A youngling. Unconcious, with clothes partially torn yet with no wounds on sight. And on his belt? A dagger of malformed shape, with no clear beginning nor end...

"You know, that doesn't look like something we want to deal with..." With clear doubts on their 'objective' and how logical it could be to just sprint ahead, Fiora turned back to Ronja, as if a decision had to be made and yet the blonde had the least of a clue as to how to proceed forward.

Would they turn their backs on an innocent or risk the unknown..?

Ronja watched the dwarves and their weapons melting slowly, holding her breath as there was suspense if the combat was really done or not.

The quietness following confirmed the end of that fierce combat, and Fiora's words broke the silence, making the Magia giggle. "Sorta, you saw some sentient liquid, yeah. But not water, stone don't turn into water in its liquid state, it turns into magma." She said, pausing for a moment and muttering under her breath while resting a finger on her lower lip. "Hmm, that didn't look like magma though-" Ronja shrugged slightly, averting her eyes to slowly trace the path that was latent with magic.

She stared at it, mostly mesmerized until her eyes noticed the fallen person from afar, making her cheerful expression fade.

"Sure doesn't..." Ronja nodded in agreement, looking at the downed youngster, with her eyes flickering and zooming in and then out to check the conditions with the Investigation Mode before side glancing at Fiora. "... To deal with the regret of not doing something, that is." She said with a solemn expression, very much disliking the idea of not doing anything in a world she could do everything, as opposed to the other side.

She started to step forward. In her hands, the slingshot was gripped tightly.

"Woah woah wait, stone turns into magma? Didn't it turn into sand when waves uh, clash with it?" Puzzled, embarassment followed suit once she tried to think hard about high school, hell, even elementary school. Did magma really come out of average rocks? Fiora couldn't tell, already second-guessing if Ronja is just pulling her leg with this one or not. "You know, I rather have magma at this point..." She concluded, her voice trailed off right as the magia's demeanour changed, in tandem with her own.

"Sure doesn't..."
"Right, let's-"
"... To deal with the regret of not doing something, that is."

"-Leave... Yeah let's just walk towards the ominous floating orb of uncertainty." She hissed out. Despite the reluctance on her voice, her body moved on it's own accord, picking up the pace to keep Ronja at a reasonable distance should she need to play hero for her. Given their luck? This whole place would sooner than later turn out to be a trap. Maybe a special event? It looked nothing like a newbie-friendly area. These usually looked boring compared to late-game in any MMO...

Ronja's eyes could pick up leftover traces of footprints on the floor. Several, in fact, aswell as the very liquid they saw earlier on a much more dormant state across the room, close to the cavern walls. It wasn't perfect by any means, as the rocky surface seem to have been excavated by the miners early on, yet there were no traces of equipment nor any survivors save for that kid within the orb. The orb itself was shiny within Investigation Mode, a ball of pure luminosity almost. Strange enough? The kid was plastered against the top side of the orb rather than the bottom. And she would be the first to understand why.

A flash of lightning struck the air for a moment, a form of black and white across the ceiling surged back to life, sparkling with energy as it's mechanical frame liberated steam and created a spark. A shockwave escaped the orb, raw arcane energies striking both Fiora and Ronja alike, and the construct atop slammed it's foot against the ground, liberating a pulse similar to the orb's, that reacted violently towards the duo.

Out of a sudden, the Magia could feel her very body weigh her down significantly, as if limbs refused to move without double the effort.

To say she was left alone, however, would be an understatement. The orb descended onto the ground, and the 'sentient water' springed back to life and begun to warp itself across it's rounded shape. Suddently, it was no longer a mere magical orb, as technology seemed to have been born like a protective layer. Gears, levers, all grinded into position as the complex pattern mimicked clockwork machinery and left the scout's fate in the dark. In exchange of this, Fiora had the opposite effect:

"RONJA?!" She cried out in confusion, flailing her arms mid-air helplessly so as she just flew straight upwards onto the ceiling, slamming full force with the uneven terrain. Adrenaline warmed up cold, responseless limbs back to life. The blunt impact against the limestone surface had her roll instinctively to the side and push herself back up to her feet. Much like the terrifying construct she was face to face with, Fiora was hanging upside down as gravity decided to take a turn for the worst on the both of them.

But she did what she did best, sending her blade straight to the split center where the clear trio of energy sparkled life to the golem, but any and all kinectic energy just bounced back through the metal and back at her instead, forcing her to back off with a pained groan and a now-burning sensation rushing through flesh and skin alike. And to once again revert the effects of the change in poles this orb (or the construct?) had in her.

Fortunately, she was prepared this time around, anchoring herself with stakes and chains alike. Granted, it limited her mobility, but it was the best she could do.

Ronja stared at the orb in awe, approaching for a moment while keeping the grip of the slingshot tight. Her eyes clicked twice, recording everything accordingly in the depths of her mind.

"What exactly... this is about?" She wondered, leaning in and looking up at the enormous construct that existed high above.

The awe didn't last long, however, and with the shockwave sending Fiora and Ronja away, the Magia took time to recover her stance- There was still a mild struggle on her to walk, so it only added to the problem.

Staggering, as soon as she tried to stand, the weight felt unbearable. She looked at Fiora, both worried and startled, widening her eyes when noticing the blonde being lift off the ground. "F-Fiora!" She tried to reach for her flailing arms and hands, but the best she could budge was the tip of her fingers barely touching Fiora's before the other fell upwards.

Ronja gritted her teeth, turning to look at the construct and pulling her slingshot, as straining as it was.

"Let her go!" She released the sling, making the ammo snap and crack against the creature, but to no avail.

Protected by Ronja! Yay!
Polarity: Negative
Still on the Ceiling

The construct steered towards the direction of the shooter, the sling having blown off and revealed a matrix of holographic patterns that coated it on the area of impact. It's impact against the ward didn't go unnoticed, much like raw steel did in an attempt to cut it in two, despite how pointless it was to use a sword against it's steeled form.

It was clear whose held the construct's attention right now. It had no eyes, no stare, and yet imminent threat could be summarized on the way it's torso tilted to Ronja's direction, seconds before an arcane blade shattered mid-air against it's barrier.

"Hey that's MY newbie. Find your own, Scrap."
Taunting ()

The Architect didn't seem phased by both attack and words alike. It was a construct with directives, and it's directives seemingly pointed it out to the second individual in the inner sanctuary. The Orb too had become reactive, as if in synchrony with the golem itself, it begun to spread it's silver-ish tendrils across the ground, the 'cracks' of the cavern that looked far too psychodelic to the rest of the dull environment. The stars and purples that spread across the infinite cosmos-like displays this section of the mines had soon begun to change, react to the sphere. It turned to bright blues akin to LED lights, right before settling with a dangerous red.

"Dammit!" It was becoming harder and harder to resist gravity's demands, her body just wasn't ready to go up and down and up and down like this as if she were metal and an industrial magnet decided to play a prank on her. And she fully expected the titan to pull a punch for once on her, but despite it all, it only had one target in mind right now. "Ronja get out of there it's got beef with you!" Her hand extended towards Ronja, as arcane panels begun to settle themselves between the golem and the little Magia, walls to protect her and slow down that monstrosity.

Yet it cared little as It jumped down, it's polarity set to Negative as to send it's full weight onto the ground. Each ghostly blue barrier shattered like glass until it reached the ground, both of it's legs cackling with lightning, and as for Ronja, the very weight she's been afflicted with increased about three times for that one moment...

Ronja's eyes grew wide seeing the giant construct going down on her, gritting her teeth when everything felt much, much heavier. Both her body, air, and everything around her. For a moment, she could barely even move, trying to brute force her movements thanks to her Magia strength, so she could at least try and pick up ammo from her pouch.

"R-Ronja is trying, you should be... Careful... Yourself!" She exclaimed, releasing and overflowing the ammo she held with mana before holding it as if it was a marble ball.

Squeezing as much strength as she could on her thumb, she flicked the empowered ammo, tossing it toward the golem as if it was a bullet. A bizarre reaction that made it look like a laser beam piercing through everything.

The impact, however, wasn't too certain. It only struck a small part of the golem, not causing any fatal damage, but at least it felt like it was enough to ease the weight of gravity being thrown on her.

"A-Ah... Thank you-"
She relaxed for a moment, looking at Fiora with a small smile, now being protected by a wall of shields. "We need to- Huh- Aaah! Not again!" Ronja finally realized that the weight wasn't easing at all, it was just inverting its direction, soon sending her flying to the ceiling and making her grunt and groan at the impact.

Her eyes widened open, seeing the outworlds condition she was in before trying to stand. "Fiora, look out!" Ronja said, noticing she was alone with the creature, and trying to shoot another time, though mostly to distract the monster from going too all out on her friend.

-10 -5 HP from Polarity Inversion Retaliation
Protected by Ronja!
Polarity: Negative

Ronja's onslaught found it's target. It wasn't lethal by any means, yet it pierced through the prototype ward as if it didn't even exist, and the Architect itself staggered backwards as the barrier lost transparency and became visible to the duo, right as it crumbled into nothingness. The construct spasmed, as if something critical had just been altered. Lucky for it, it's aggressor was sent flying back up once her polarity punished her trangressions...

Her hands outstretched, letting the glowing chains that anchored her to the ceiling shatter into a million pieces, as she pushed her legs off the surface to 'jump' in an attempt to catch the Magia mid-air with her right hand, the left one shotting an arcane bolt in the Architect's direction to break her current polarity and inverse it once again. At least it seemed like she could catch Ronja, but in the wake of her failure and an imminent drop, instead of focusing on a safe landing back down, the blonde begun to twist time and psace itself to slow down around Ronja until even gravity had a snail's pace, followed by several carpets that spread themselves like a trampoline on the area of impact. Time would resume, and Ronja would have some form of cushion at least.

Not like herself, as she just fell back first against the ground, and if that didn't broke her spine then it's gonna leave her sore for the next several days if they made it out of this one. Pain had to be the least of her problems right now, she could barely get up without whincing. Air was limited this deep in a cavern, it just wasn't enough to compensate the loss that drop gave her, but she still pushed herself up to her feet. Her sword missing, left somewhere around the debris out of sight, everything was too dark besides the construct, the walls, and that ominous giant sphere that begun to lose form. Apparently, slingshots are far more deadly than she gave them credit for.

Forming a mallet out of arcanamancy, Fiora put full intent on slamming down the center of the short-circuiting construct, and thanks to the Ward's destruction, she found true to her target. Yet nothing happened- Of course, she had no more power left on her arms to swing anything, but the Architect? It split in two, something even she was surprised to witness as her chest heaved and blood poured out of her lips.

"Bull...Shit." She whined, her voice all too weak to finish her hundred insults, and just as incapable of stopping herself from dropping on one knee once the gravitational pull became stronger than her will to stand up. Emerald eyes vaguely reached upwards, searching for Ronja. She had to be sure she's safe.

All things considered, that seemed to be the case, but before her body could finally give in to wound and pain alike-

The Architect recovered itself, both halves separated from their combined assault didn't unite but instead separate themselves with their own halves of their core exposed. Black & White, Negative & Positive, their missing limbs reformed with lightning to grant them mobility once again. Separated like twins, the Architect was now incomplete.

All directives were overriden. Their ward was broken, and Polarities could no longer be altered-

They stablished their own directive now: Exterminate.

Ronja is being protected by @Fiora Di Angelo
Ronja is Positive

Ronja was grateful for the cushioned fall, but seeing how the woman was being tossed around like a ragdoll wasn't something she could be happy about. Gritting her teeth, she stood on the 'ceiling' and gripped her slingshot before glaring at the white construct.

She held the ammo, preparing it once again on the sling and stretching it with all her strength. There was a scowl, a glare that spoke all the words she wanted to say.

The mana concentrated on the ammo, making it turn into a dense glowing sphere.

Gritting her teeth, Ronja released the ammo, that went flying toward the white architect, but not before Ronja quickly gestured toward Fiora and the black architect.

"Be gone!"

The ammo bursted, with most of its fragments going for a homing attack toward her main target, exploding on its surface. Meanwhile, the other fragments went down, striking around the black architect, hoping to buy an opening for Fiora to attack, or time for her to escape.

40 20 DMG From Negatron's grasp
Protected by Ronja! (and protecting back in exchange)
Polarity: Negative

BOOM

The slingshot bursted on the Positron-L, the force made it tilt backwards, yet it wasn't as badly as the fragments ala shrapnel that caught the Negatron completely off-guard. One had everything calculated, the other fell to the aggression that had it tilt downwards, bend over as if to let itself be decapitated... If it even had a head to begin with, that is.

Fiora mumbled her thanks, mostly to herself- Something to share later on when danger wasn't so imminent, and less so when actions valued over words right now, specially with Ronja's opening leaving the Negatron so exposed, yet with no blade at hand, that two-handed warhammer once again manifested on her hands, hard-hitting arcanamancy delivered onto an upwards strike. Her battlecry was completely unecessary, but it gave the 'feeling' the impact would come over harder than usual if she did so, the blunt end of her weapon ending right behind her as she overswung, and the Negatron was finally down, cracks formed all over it's shell that revealed the lightning within that so desperately wanted to escape.

The Positron calculated the odds, and catching the 'fleshling' wouldn't be a possibility, not with this distance. It's arm, formed entirely of bolts, soon took the shape of a whip, the air heating with it's sole presence as it cracked once, like an omen of some form, perhaps the one example of human wrath on them.

The second time it cracked, it went straight for Ronja, a proper lashing against her arms, as if a lightning bolt had dropped upon her arms by the all mighty god of thunder, paired with the cutting power of the tortureous tool itself. The one who hurt it the most would suffer the most, and the whip would make it's come back once again, this time aiming for Ronja's legs on a wider arc, far more predictable yet just as deadly, were it not so... Slow.

A phantom clock rested atop the white Architect, chronomancy once again slowed down. Although it didn't stop it entirely, it certainly gave an opportunity for Ronja to retaliate, the stress it put over her visibly on the way her hands shake and sweat runs freely down her forehead.

"We are cutting it a bit too cl-GAH?!" Her words choked down, as something begun to squeeze down her frame entirely, like a boulder decided to crush every single bone on her body. The sheer surprise coming from the very Negatron, it's fingers wrapped all around the blonde.

It's grip failed, it lacked the strength to grant sudden death to it's target. It's form had begun to give in, the impact from that fragmented glowing sphere had pierced deep into it's main-frame... Still.

It didn't stop it from squeezing the life out of her, nor did it affect it's white twin any less on it's ambitious pursuit of the Magia.

Ronja is Vulnerable
-30 Damage from Positron-L
Ronja is Positive

"Fiora!" Ronja called for her friend, but the electric strike soon caught her attention back, snapping against her arm and forcing her hand to let the slingshot go, being knocked away and sliding across the floor. Ronja's arm crackled, faltering for a moment and becoming limp.

Her eyes shifted from her damaged arm to Fiora once again, staggering and taking a step back before glaring at the white golem that was an obstacle. Swirling, her eyes turned into a bright scarlet hue.

Quickly, Ronja's features were reconstructed and entered into a rapid metamorphosis, with two antennae growing on the sides of her head and her broken arm morphing into a cylinder shape, absorbing the overcharge that the lightning had caused on Ronja.

"Ronja WON'T stand for this!"

She exclaimed, aiming at the giant golem and blasting a beam of pure mana, hitting the center of mass and then thrusting even more power into it.

The ground quakes...

The Positron recoiled, it's retaliation soon became it's damnation. The Magia it struck in full had taken the overdrive from it's energy, just as expected, just as calculated. What they didn't calculate was exactly that: That a being not so different to them was their foe, compared to the blonde fleshling the Negatron had a grasp upon.

The sound blurred like a hangover on Fiora, she could hear the cries of her friend and nothing else once flashing lights and the earth-shaking blast of Ronja's fully powered mana stream shot through the room, illuminating their surroundings once it collided with the Positron's hands that sought to harness the power in similar manner, only there were no fingers, no hands, no arms to stop it, as the very laser pushed through it's form and clashed against it's core. It's form begun to crack, the core became unstable as the collision with the tremendous force poured through it's form in an attempt to disperse it- The core fragmented before that could happen, it's upper body exploding with tremendous force as it let free passage to the magical ram that flew straight to the walls of the cavern and dug a hole no pickaxe could hope to match, metal bent inwards as liquid splashed everywhere and the orb collapsed on it's own, leaving a pool of mercury and, among it all, the very young scout with the dagger, seemingly knocked out cold.

The cavern shook to that end, hard enough that the floor begun to 'melt' and sink like moving sands. It de-stabilized the remaining architect, whose other half had been blown to bits and only a pair of legs and burning waves across it's remannts were left, aswell as a path of pure destruction between Ronja and the target of her ire. It gave an opportunity for Fiora to push herself free from the Negatron with one final kick to it's core, caught by the shock that almost left third-degree burns, but instead bent the plated boot inwards, trapping her foot on it's own protection.

"Ronja cover me!" She yelled, hopping on one leg towards the epicenter of the room where she dropped the child like a sandbag on her shoulders, and fragments of debris started to crumble atop of their heads with one ominous howl that shook the walls and the very foundation of the mines. There was no time to finish off the last of the Architect, not when it had been trapped by the very room and even the floor begun to give in, which only implied there was nothing else underneath them but a hollow, endless void.

it was all or nothing, and she was down to one leg with her right wounded and her foot handicapped. Dust and stone begun to consume the entire room as spikes broke from the very ground in unnatural shapes, clearly a magical cause and one they had no time to investigate least they ended up impaled or worse, buried under the collapsing mines that would become their tomb.

"You know teleportation magic would SURELY come handy right now!" She yelled, if only to keep herself from going full in panic with how everything crumbled around her, and the light of the outside world was so fickle, so close, yet so far away from them.

The Negatron bleeds power, and such power ran off like a cheap battery moments before the entire sanctuary fell on it's own and the next of the mine seemingly followed suit- No, something else wanted them gone, as nature decided they had to leave or perish among the stone dwarves and the miners who so foolishly followed along with their excavations...

Rolls

TL;DR
-The Positron got utterly destroyed by Ronja, yet such absurd amount of power hit through the cavern and reached into a different kind of entity who didn't take too well the attack...
-On top of that? The Negatron finally let go of Fiora with a crushed boot gimping her, and the Orb melted into nothing but mercury on the floor, freeing the unconcious scout.
-The Negatron sinks as the sanctuary melts, seemingly a byproduct of the Orb's destruction, but this entity begun to spread earth spikes all across and shake the foundations of the mine.

Cyan steam escaped from Ronja's skin, which opened slightly similarly to gills on her neck to act as an exhauster for the mana overcharge. She barely has time to process everything that occurs right after, only being able to spot the fallen scout and a limping Fiora.

Tripping and staggering, Ronja tried to hurry to her friend as she was requested to cover. "W-Will do-" She mustered with a strained voice, reaching for the precious slingshot on the ground and facing the exit while everything crumbled and obstacles grew on their path.

A limping woman carrying another person with her wouldn't do, that was for certain.

Hurrying next to Fiora, Ronja did what she could, using the remains of her energy to blast off crumbles that fell from the ceiling, to explode the spikes on their path, making full use of the temporary canon her arm had transformed into.

However, it never felt like it was enough, never... Suddenly, a flicker and a UI appeared in front of Ronja, freezing the world and the situation around her, with everything turning into a monotone low saturated teal hue. Along with the freezing, the UI offered a choice...

Overcharge?

'Doubling down..?' Ronja stared at the UI intently, unsure of for how long that frozen state of the world would last.

Struggling, she tried to move her arm to reach the UI. Physically, it was impossible as she was just as frozen as the world around her. But the UI acknowledged her desire, flickering for a moment before a glow blinded her for a second.

❰ ULTRA MAGIA ❱

Assuming a new form, Ronja tried to wrap her free arm around Fiora before her jet boots erupted an initial flame and impulse upwards, lifting them off the ground... But not too much. "Hold on tight-" Ronja's voice came out, distorted as a robot would sound.

As soon as she had a firm grip on the situation, she blasted off, aiming backward with the canon her other arm was still morphed into before blasting another beam of mana, using the recoil to propel them forward even faster.

This, however, came with a price. Ronja's morphed shape, as fast as it materialized, was dematerializing, starting from the canon's barrel and the engines of her jet boots. Still, she continued, leaving a trail of cyan steam and violet shards that detached from her body.

Fiora had paid notice on that cannon, on the little changes Ronja had undergone, albeit most of them were skipped in her mind, even the questions she had running through were all but blank. There wasn't time even to compile them for later, all that her sweat-ridden form could do is run, run as it could, limp, crawl if needed.

Danger lurked like a shadow behind them, to swallow them whole. The hunger of a monstrosity far too incomprehensible for them, the mixture of a wolf and a demonic entity with a pitch lower than any mere canine echoed through the caverns, and the earth itself became an obstacle, an enemy. She knew death wouldn't be the end, but the same couldn't be said about the kid on her shoulder right now, and to carry with that and the burden of Ronja's first death...

She wanted to believe there was a way out, despite how doomed they seemed, even her body started to hover slightly over the ground.

-wait, what?

"Hold on tight-"

A voice called out, far too different to the usual yet still reminiscent of the Magia from before. Far more an android's, a machine's than Ronja's, yet strangely humane all things considered. Emerald eyes flickered down to notice how her legs had no need to move anymore, and a pink metal-like humanoid was now in charge of their escape.

CRASH! A falling boulder destroyed the minecart just a step next to them, and that snapped Fiora out of her trance to focus on the serpentine main road they traced back, to the lanterns hanging from the otherwise dark tunnels, the wooden beams had started to fall over, which would force the pair to take evasive maneuvers just as the light begun to shine brighter and brighter. Fiora could feel them slow down a bit, how Ronja pulled to the last of whatever power she had mustered at this moment, this wild card of sorts wouldn't keep up for long. Fortunately? Their eyes would begin adapt to the brightness, dust and smoke would escape from the mines just as soon as they did, with Fiora losing grip on Ronja and dropping with the scout on top of her, safeguarding him from the fall, and the deformed dagger on his hip sent sliding across the floor a few steps away from them.

The stone finally claimed it's due, and the entrance to the mines were once again shut. They were safe... Or at least Fiora wished to think it's that way. Panting, the blonde pushed the scout to the side, the kid all but concious right now. Still, it was easy to tell he's still breathing, safe and sound somehow despite the conditions he's been put for who knows how long.

"Okay, what... What the hell was all that, and since when are you a power ranger, Ronja..." Left elbow against the grass, she rose her right gauntlet and pointed a finger straight back at her partner. It was impressive, far beyond anything she's seen: this girl, a newbie, just turned into a ROBOT of sorts infront of her eyes, and probably that's what that surge of mana was in the first place that blew apart the Architect. Seriously unbelievable. "Fuck, that was amazing, I thought we would die for sure in there but you saved us, someone was REALLY mad at us too, heh." She said, a last exhausted chuckle before she begun to pull herself back up, only to drop down with one cry cut short. Her foot had begun to bleed between the seams of her plated footwear, the crushed metal and leather poking straight into the flesh and not letting go of it.

Ronja barely noticed when the sunlight was bathing her body. At some point, her body simply lost control and soon, she found herself crashing similarly to Fiora.

A small trench followed her body being dragged by the force her speed from before was pushing. And soon she found herself halting when the attriction with the ground finally got rid of all the speed.

Ronja's eyes flickered, and she turned to try and look for Fiora. "Fi-- O-- Rrrrra--" Her voice distorted between high and low pitches, and she tried to face her friend, yet nearly failing to move at all. "A-Ah" She moved to look at her legs, mostly destroyed, then at her canon arm, mostly destroyed as well.

A UI warning appeared, forcing an emergency recharge mode, and making Ronja's head fall to the ground, limp.

"I-- Didnnnn't-- Kn-- Eitherrrrrrrr--" She responded, regarding the affirmation she was a Power Ranger.

Once her eyes were accustomed to the outside world once again, that harrowing voice broke the smile out of her lips. It's pitch was like a malfunctioning radio, and the sparks coming made her heart halt. It was as if time froze, but chronomancy itself had nothing to do with it. "RONJA?!" Confused, Fiora didn't know if she wanted to scream, or question, or call out, it all meshed into one higher pitch than her usual. Gloved hands clawed over the floor and her one healthy leg kicked the dirt behind her to cut distance with the broken magia.

A hand pressed against Ronja's chest, Fiora's right pushed against the floor to get herself on a seating position right next to her. Her gut told her what to do, yet magic couldn't do more but fizzle out of her shaky hands. Closing her eyes, Fiora took a deep breath, focusing only on her incantation. She had to do it right to have any hopes of saving her. She tried to go as far as she could, to revert her body to a previous state, but it couldn't do more but mere seconds as strength begun to cut short. The UI flashed a warning across her screen. Her EP was running low right now...

"Hey don't close your eyes, you hear me? Keep your eyes on me!" Her lips trembled, much like her own tone did right now, her features grimmacing the moment she could tell there was no fleshy bits to mend like with any other person. Ronja picked a race that's the first time she's ever encountered. "Ugh I can't... How do I even fix you-" She didn't pick magitech as a mastery, and this all looked like a problem no healing could fix on it's own. "Talk to me, can you use that arm of yours? I need you to get on my back and hold on tight."

Fuck it was gonna hurt, but if she dies, then that's gonna hurt twice as much...

Ronja couldn't even flinch at the sudden approach of her friend. Her Ultra Magia form remained longer, even if it was just as fragile as her usual self. "Rrrronja... C- hearrrr you..." Her eyes flickered, and she weakly reached for Fiora's hand on her chest.

The chronomantic spell slowly reverted Ronja's morphed mode. Her cannon arm was the first one to return, morphing back into a bruised hand. Her upper and bottom body came right next, slightly damaged but trying to fix itself with the spell. Her legs then appeared, with the feets twisted and bursted, lacking toes and with wide opens that showed the broken metallic skeletons.

Ronja lowered her eyes to look at it.

"How do I even fix you?" The words echoed with a distant past, of a young salmon haired girl, looking at a mirror. Devoid of expression. Devoid of hope.

Ronja's head and face then returned to normal, with her eyes clicking out of sync, brimming with a dangerous scarlet hue. "Ronja..." Tears started rolling down her eyes. "... Rrronja can't be fixxxed" She frowned her lips, reaching for Fiora with trembling arms, with the bruised hand remaining static and frozen while the good one quivered its fingers.

"Shhhe... Neverrr... C- uld be-" Ronja buried her face on Fiora's back. Out of frustration and shame.

Useless legs there.

Useless legs here.

There was no escape from it. Even in a fantasy world.
