The bar was bustling with patrons long before the drinking competition was set to start. Plenty of people loved free alcohol, and there was more than plenty to go around. The bar had it all, beer, wine, mead, bourbon, whiskey, if you wanted something to drink, the bar had stocked it for the event. The bartenders had been busy enough with the regular patrons, that things had only just been set up for the competition at hand.
Barrels had been rolled out, and stood in the center of the space with open lids, exposing the brown ale inside. This was to be the main drink for the competition. There was a small table near each barrel that had pint glasses for the competitors to use. There were no chairs within the "arena" provided, as each competitor had to stay standing while drinking, that was the challenge. There were plenty of chairs and tables around the arena, however, as onlookers would be readily cheering and jeering on their favorite competitors.
Anyone who had signed up for the event would be ushered into the arena and given their opponent and assigned barrel, all labeled with numbers. Before doing so, the rules would have been explained to each person by the bartenders. The rules themselves were simple, stay standing while drinking, if you fall over you lose the round. But there were some nuances that would be explained, provided the drunken competitors cared to remember them.
Some people were just here to drink as much as possible, competition be damned. Who are we to deny them? Let the game begin!

Cycle 0
Rules
- This is a challenge and is private to only the players signed up for the event. If you wish to RP watching the drinking competition, please make your own separate thread and invite others to join you!
- All players compete on their own.
- The max word count is 400 words excluding BBcodes.
- Comms may be created to shit talk with your opponent.
- Each Cycle will be a self-contained round of drinking. Rules on this are explained on the right.
- Your goal is simple, drink as much as you can and prove how hardy you are by staying standing the entire time.
- You will compete in a drinking test against each other opponent until you are too drunk to stand back up, voluntarily give up, or all other competitors have been knocked out of the competition.
- Being the last person standing is not necessarily a victory, though it is likely. The competition is to see how much each person can drink, so points will be tallied based on the number of drinks you consume along with victories earned. If you can manage to drink a lot, even if you lose a round or two, you may still come out victorious!
Mechanics
Each Cycle will be a round against your opponent, and you will each post until a character has fallen over from drinking too much. Once all participants have completed their round of competition, a new one will begin!
Due to the odd number of participants signed up, there will be an NPC competitor. The town drunk: Tipsy Skidshot. I will be posting for her against the remaining odd competitor.
For each post you make, you must drink. Each drink causes a stacking debuff on your character, and it will get exponentially harder for you to stand with each pint you consume. Your DC is 5 for the first check, 15 for the second, 30 for the third, 50 for the fourth, 75 for the fifth, and 95 for each subsequent check where you and your opponent manage to remain standing, out of a d100 roll.
You will earn a point for every drink consumed, and 3 points for remaining standing when your opponent goes down. If you are the last person standing, you will earn a bonus of 10 points!
After each participant has finished their round, the loser must make a check to see if they can even get back up again. Once your character goes down, they must make a d100 check against X DC where X is the number of drinks you have consumed over the entire competition. If you fail, your character cannot continue.
Tipsy is only here to drink, she doesn't want points. If there is an even number of remaining competitors, she will drink on her own and wait for a competitor in need of a partner.
If you have been eliminated, but still wish to RP, then let me know and I will make a Megathread for onlooking the remainder of the competition IC.
