"Over here?" Fiora groaned. The third time's not the charm but the limit of her patience this time around as she could tell the little brat was pulling her hair on this one, her arms were getting sore by now, itchy from the constant grind against the fallen boar's fur.

"Mmmm a bit to the left!" Sirah replied, the young huntress giggling quietly to herself as she watched Fiora heave the boar from table to table in her father's workstation, just a few steps away from his home. One of the most reputed butchers in the area, and with this prized beast a feast to celebrate for the aspiring ranger.

Fiora's complaints just grew louder and louder, until the snow wolf took notice of his daughter's mischievousness and stepped in with three taps of his foot. "Sirah..." A powerful frown from these thick eyebrows made her roll her eyes, an apologetic glance given to the pair as she crossed her arms behind her back.

"Sorry, I just like to watch her workout." She admitted with a shrug, indifference betrayed by the rosy tint on her cheeks.
"And I would LOVE to fuck off right now." Fiora retorted with half-closed eyelids, the looks of a bear that's been poked with a branch far too many times already.
"Can I tag along?~"
"No."
"I'll pay the drinks!"
"I ain't falling for that crap twice."

Sirah waved her arms in defeat at that point, clearly there was no way to pierce through that thick, blonde-clad skull of hers. The exchange just had Brynjar breaking into a laughter, the old man joyfully coughing the final vestiges of his hearty chuckle, right as he tagged along with Fiora to the front of his house.

"Thank you again for your assistance, Fiora. I know this ain't much but-" The purse hanging from his belt had been readied, even if there would be a boar or not, whoever would follow with one of his daughter's antics (and suffer through them) is worthy of some compensation. Fiora pursed her lips, humming outloud before she waved a finger back at Bryn.

"Keep it. I want a slice of that boar before I leave the village, sounds cool to you?" She smiled, much like Bryn himself did once she gently pushed the purse back on his hands.

"Heh. Alright then, it does sound 'cool' to me." The man wasn't that convinced with her choice of words, but if that's a Traveler's way to say 'good', then it does sound 'cool' to him. "Don't get yourself in trouble now. I'll be seeing you later." And with that they bid their farewells.

And that left Fiora with an evening free of duties, a pair of sore, itchy arms, and two thoughts in her mind. It has been a while since she sent a mail to Ronja, and frankly she should be doing that right now, but so is the case with Yugam. Would be good to keep in touch once in a while. Opening her UI, Fiora pulled her friendlist and picked his name, one of the few, which didn't surprise her given how stingy she's with adding people.

Voice Mail

Wazzup my guy, this is Blonde's Weather Report, straight from Lubeck- Hah, just kidding. Anyways, I hope you are chillin'. I uhhh am here in this village called Lubeck, heard some stupid shit, listen this one: Some dumbfuck elf shot a window and she had to go talk to the owner of the house. Some kind of competition, I dunno, still funny as hell. Anywaaays, stay safe. And hit me up ingame y'know? I swear I got the home trait for cooking or whatever, my coffee ain't half bad.

Aaaand, sent!

But one voice mail wasn't enough, no. Just as she was about to send a new one though, right as she was crossing the town square, she could see two colours at a distance: Black, and yellow.

The yellow? No idea, she couldn't see their face that well, but didn't look like any girl she's ever seen before. The black one though? Hard to miss, because this idiot made their avatar almost exactly as themselves.

...Wait, is that a chick he's with?

"I wish I could bleach my eyes..." Yu complained to the two women walking beside him. He supposed that their little investigation had been a success, but he most certainly had not expected that to be the cause of all the howling and what-not that Ingrid had been hearing. That quest needed a warning, or a censor option, anything.

Yu sighed as they approached the tavern. "Well, at least Connie and Ingrid seem happy now," the man said as he'd pushed the doors open. He'd had the impression since the first time they'd seen the two interact that there was some kind of history between the two. Yu still wasn't a hundred percent sure what that history was, but either way, it seemed that it had turned out for the best. Amazing what fifteen minutes trapped in a wine cellar could do for one's relationships.

The trio took a seat at the and Yu pulled out the brown leather journal, opening it up on the counter before beginning to scribble out short notes on the day's events while they were still fresh in his mind. As the man wrote in his sloppy handwriting, he checked his palm menu to see the time, noticing a small blinking notification indicating that he had voicemail. Voicemail? Yu couldn't remember the last time he'd gotten an actual voicemail. Either way, it'd be rude to check it right now.

"Anything I can get you lot?" the burly man behind the counter asked.
"Uh, I'll take some mead, please."
"Wine for me, if you have any, thanks."

"Ugh, and I thought seeing Commander Jormund’s dreams about King Astor had been bad enough…"

A shiver ran up her spine at the thought, elven features contorting into a look of disgust as a small "Yuck!" escaped the ranger. Out of all the scenarios in her bingo card for Things Making Those Sounds that particular option had been nowhere near the vicinity of her thoughts, and for good reason.

"Y-Yeah, I’m really happy for them~"

There was a faint slip in the tone of her voice before the elf quickly caught herself, a smile pulling at her lips as she thought of the pair they’d had left by the Concertos’ manor. "I’m glad falling into the cellar didn’t hurt either of them, and it seemed to all work out well in the end for them." It was always nice to witness new love bloom between two people, and as far as Lúthien was concerned Connie and Ingrid deserved the best.

Unconsciously her eyes drifted towards Yugam then, a faint thought flickering through before the elf quickly shooed it away back to the depth of her mind as she took a seat to the left of the hunter. He was currently busy scribbling away into his leather journal, which left Unmei and herself free in the meantime… though the blonde couldn’t help feeling somewhat awkward around the man’s sword. She was almost relieved when the man interrupted them, placing her own order along with Yu’s and Unmei’s.

"Mead for me too, please."

Lucky for her, these three had made their way to the public hub, like she usually calls taverns and inns in games like this given their popularity among players, except Terrasphere didn't really fit in the same bag. That would be a de-service, really- Still, she didn't get a good view, but there was some semblance of familiarity even within the distance, but three? Yu's been busy making friends, which honestly surprised her given his quiet demeanour.

Making a quiet entrance into the tavern, Fiora passed the busybodies who brushed against the patched-up brown cloak over her upper body, a bit ragged at it's ends but serviceable for the most. Emerald eyes scanned for a second the pub until... Target located. Elbrick had begun to fill the tankards. Wine for Unmei, Mead for Yugam and Luthien.

"Hey Brick, make that three meads." Fiora called from behind, the man giving no more than a glance to the blonde to acknowledge her before he got himself yet another mug for the newcomer.

She didn't want to give them time to react, not that much at least, and instead headed straight towards Yugam, smug like a goblin and with the size of an orc, every step made sure to let one know she had business with the dark-haired punk, but first-

She gave him a sharp flick on the back of the head, or straight to the forehead if he were unfortunate enough to turn around in time for it. "You owed me that one since months, prick. What's up, not picking up the phone now? I just sent you a mail." Fiora exclaimed, left hand over her waistline as she switched weight from one leg to the other. And then he noticed the party. Between one and the other, the blonde stood out the most. Blonde, sharp ears...

She squinted her gaze for a moment, as if trying to deduce just who could this be or if she's seen her around before, but nothing seemed to click. "Let me know if he's dragging you two into trouble and I'll kick his ass, eh?" A passive smile, otherwise in an attempt to gauge them in the first place. They could be victims of his non-existant charms, or worse, he could be the one who fell for the pretty elf over here...

Wouldn't be news...

"So! May the bellezzas over here introduce themselves?"

"Hey Brick, make that three meads."

One of the last voices that Yu wanted to hear right now grated against his eardrums from the other side of the bar. The man put down his pen and hung head low with a sigh. "You have got to be kidding me."

"Here to deck me again, or- ow!" Yu felt a finger flick the back of his head with a loud crack as he talked to one of the biggest annoyances in his life. "What the-"
"You owed me that one since months, prick."
"Ok, fair..." Yu said as he turned around and looked up at six feet and something inches of hot blonde overcompensation.

"What's up, not picking up the phone now? I just sent you a mail," the blonde said, snarky as always.
"Kinda busy, obviously. Isn't the point of mail checking it when you have time, anyways?"

The knight wasn't really paying all that much attention to him already, not that was really all that surprising. "What are you even doing here, Fiora?" Yu asked as she turned to the two women, advising them to let her know if he 'deserved' an ass beating.

"So! May the bellezzas over here introduce themselves?"

Yu couldn't help but roll his eyes and looked over at Unmei, who already had some knowledge of who Fiora was, given her free access to his memories. "My name is Unmei," the girl to Fiora as cordially as she could manage, offering the blonde a hand to shake.

"Hey Brick, make that three meads.

A confident voice called in the direction of the bartender (Brick?) currently handling their order. It caused Lúthien to turn her head in the woman’s direction, her sharp sense of hearing having been drawn since mere moments before the knight loudly requested her mead. Quietly the elf watched the interaction between the tall blonde and Yugam, a perplexed look on her features as she noticed the familiarity that seemed to exist within the two.

Three meads and a glass of wine had found themselves placed atop the counter then, the ranger quietly picking up her own and bringing the tankard to her lips. A few small sips were taken from the fresh contents within while Lúthien simply observed, one eyebrow questioningly raised to the air when Y had asked if the new arrival intended on decking him—though that inquiry was soon paused as the hunter found himself being flicked instead.

Eventually the knight’s attention turned towards Unmei and Lúthien, the latter giving a faint wave before perking up as the woman asked for their names. ”My name is Unmei.” As expected Yugam’s sword was the first to introduce herself, the ranger content to let her finish before she spoke up.

"And I’m Lúthien. It’s nice to meet you, miss…?"

Like Unmei the elf would also extend a hand over to shake once the woman was done with the asian woman.

While Yu's spirits dropped just as soon as he heard her voice, Fiora felt at the top of the world, as if hanging his head low only gave more power to her, and his reaction? Priceless. At least Yu could admit defeat for once and accept he deserved a good ol' flick to the head. "I dunno, want me to punch you on the face again?" She rolled the question out, just like she rolled an imaginary sleeve to prepare herself should he say 'yes'. A pipedream, but a dream nonetheless.

"Kinda busy, obviously. Isn't the point of mail checking it when you have time, anyways?" That was a good point he had.

Which she answered with a shrug and a coy smile "Bullshit, I bet as soon as you saw my name you wouldn't have opened it in the first place."

Of course Yu would have stingy questions coming her way. Her reason to be here, most importantly, but that had to wait, if the sideglance back at him wasn't enough of a tell that there were far more important things to discuss, for example: the two ladies over here.

Extending her hand out for Unmei, careful not to squeeze too hard. Firm and full of camaraderie that Fiora herself never had with Yugam, given what memories they both have of eachother, which usually ended in conflict of some kind.

"And I'm Lúthien. It's nice to meet you, miss…?"

"Fiora. No miss or anything, I feel old if you say that."
Despite that being completely on her for making her avatar older. She chuckled, taking Luth's offer and giving her one nice handshake. She made sure to let her voice take an harmonious change for the better compared to how she addressed Yugam, a pitch like fine powder. "I'm a... "Friend". Let's just say Yugam and I crossed paths more times than we like to admit."

Stretching herself towards the counter, Fiora took hold of her mug and gave it one long gulp, pleasant sigh escaping her lips once the taste almost made her forgot what Yu asked earlier. It just was cheap enough to not get her that far however. "Eh, same I could ask you. Got yourself a little group and didn't invite me? I've been questing, helping out the locals, that sort of thing. Right now? I wanted to get drunk and maybe log off, but now I'm kinda curious about you misfits." Emerald eyes swinging back to Unmei, landing on Lúthien. "Staarting with you."

"I dunno, want me to punch you on the face again?"
"I'm good, thanks," the man deadpanned, and unamused look on his face. It seemed some things would never change, in or out of game. Fiora's apparent insistence on tormenting him, for example.

"Bullshit, I bet as soon as you saw my name you wouldn't have opened it in the first place," Fiora replied with a coy smile.
"I'm not that petty," Yugam protested, before grabbing his mug of mead and taking a long draw. The man was content to continue drowning his sorrow nursing his mug as everyone got acquainted with each other. This was like his worst nightmare come true. The chances of Nico harassing him after they logged out about who Luthien was were high, he could feel it in his bones. And he'd have to be honest, and tell her it was Valeria, and that would open a whole other can of worms. Why couldn't he just catch a break?

Unmei was far more successful in hiding her dissatisfaction with the situation on the other hand, gently sipping at her glass of wine whilst giving the other two women no more than piercing stares. As if having to deal with one of them at any given point in time wasn't enough, now there were two? She almost swore that Yu purposefully entangled himself with anyone liable to hurt him down the line. Almost. She knew better though. If anything, it had more to do with his frank honesty and bleeding heart he pretended he didn't have sometimes. The girl closed her eyes and took another sip of wine to suppress the sigh she could feel trying to escape her lungs.

"Fiora, you practically live in my apartment. You could literally ask, at any time, if I want to do a quest with you," Yu pointed out, unconcerned with revealing their IRL arrangements.

Fiora, huh? The elf committed the name to memory, taking another sip of her mead even as her eyes carefully strayed over to the man sitting beside her. "Fiora, you practically live in my apartment." It all clicked into place then, why the pair were so familiar with one another as their interactions flowed smoothly, and why observing it had felt familiar for Lúthien.

"Oh, so she’s the roommate you told me about!"

Yeah, she remembered now—the girl had come up in their conversations on more than one occasion, usually whenever she did something that irritated the man to no end. Still it couldn’t all be that bad, especially considering Ari had never tried to get rid of Nico. Looking at them now it was almost like watching siblings bickering, and Lúthien couldn’t help but smile softly in response to that thought.

""Staarting with you.""
"M-Me…? What about me?"

She had spaced out a little bit, missing most of the words from the tall blonde until her green eyes had fixated on the elf with intent. A nervous chuckle escaped her lips then, while the mead tankard was unconsciously held a little bit closer to her chest.

"I'm good, thanks,"
"Coward~"
A wide grin on her lips gone quiet seconds after, just as he spit the most bewildering lie he's said on the lapse of a week. It made her roll her eyes hard enough she could probably have gotten a view of the entire tavern if she tried just a bit harder. "Daily reminder that you talked shit about Ronja. Damn that takes me back to be honest, I miss when you used to be scared shitless of me. Was pretty fun." Even if that never really happen despite their very few online interactions before their meeting, an overglorified 'get-punched' simulator for Yugam.

"Fiora, you practically live in my apartment. You could literally ask, at any time, if I want to do a quest with you,"
"Well ya'-"
"Oh, so she's the roommate you told me about!"

Cue the sound of glass shattering, or in this case, Fiora staring him down so fucking hard he didn't need eyes on his back to realize Luth just doomed him one way or another. A mixture between dissonant serenity and a volcano just brewed right on the smile she had to force, if only to not jump on his ass right now. Not infront of his new friends, at least. "Hey Yu, what else did you tell them about us." It was a question with three answers and two of them were certainly going to end like a visual novel's bad ending. Her right hand reached out to tap thrice on the counter right next to him, as if to try and lure his eyes off his drink. "Nothing weird right? Nah you ain't that kind of person to say lies, you ain't no liar." Her sarcasm just blew off the charts, just like the intent to kill, and it wasn't getting any better with this Unmei who felt more like Female Yugam, just staring them a bunch before leaning back on the drink, as if she somehow poisoned her wine with her mere presence.

Fortunately, Luthien acted far more like a normal person than the other two. Of course, she is a blonde like herself, so obviously they are far more normal than Dark haired Protagonist with Gun and Wine Sipper over there, just that nerveous chuckle and the adorable body language had Fio take down a notch her rage just to elaborate. "Yeah, what about you, that's what I'm asking." She repeated with a cheshire smile across her lips, leaving Yu's side, to his relief probably, only to swing her mug on Luth's direction to gesture her to go on. "You don't look like the kind of person who would go around with him. Do you two met while questing? Or was it just a coincidence in red?" The last line more apt for Yu to catch on.

Could this be the one with his thread..?

"You got a colourful group, girl." A voice leaned from Unmei's right, a silver-haired guy of light complexity and a build not so different to Yugam's had approached, the man just so slided over to the counter to take a seat one or two stools away from the sword-girl just as he left his own group of pals on a round table not so far from here, who were all enjoyning themselves to some drink and peeking at the silver rascal. "You are a Starcalled, right? That's how they call players around this game, I think. Or Travelers, but that's a bit too overused." He added, quiet as to not disrupt both blondes, yet holding one friendly smile towards the wine sipper.

"Just that you're annoying as fuck sometimes, and that your coffee sucks," Yugam droned on again, eyes focused on whatever was ahead of him, missing the glares that Fiora tossed his way. Though, he could most certainly feel the woman's eyes boring into the back of his head with lethal intent. Yu didn't know why of course, what else would he have told Luthien? It wasn't like he was gonna tell her about Nico's private life, that was sketchy as hell.

On the otherside, Unmei practically seethed as some silver-haired idiot approached her. A Lander no less. Unmei wasn't sure if that made the whole situation better or worse. She tried her best to ignore the man, but he just kept talking. And about what to call the Travelers no less. What kind of opener was that? "Yes, they're Travelers," Unmei said, pointedly using the 'overdone' edition of the name and making it clear she wasn't. Which wasn't untrue, but not entirely accurate either. "I'm his weapon," Unmei grabbed Yu's hand and gave the silver-haired man an annoyed smile as Yu turned too look at what was going on. It didn't take very long to figure it out. Or put together that Unmei was implying he was some lame ass dweeb that was fucking his in-game sword-waifu. 'Thanks, Unmei,' the man beamed the thought into the weapon's mind, making sure to lose none of his displeasure as he too gave the Lander an annoyed smile.

"Hey Yu, what else did you tell them about us."
"Just that you're annoying as fuck sometimes, and that your coffee sucks."

She couldn’t help the short chuckle that escaped her lips as Yugam retorted back to the knight, before the elf tried to mask it by bringing her tankard close to her lips to take a sip. Vaguely she noticed a white haired man approach Unmei from the other side of the hunter, an eyebrow raised slightly, but before Lúthien could think much about it Fiora had brought her attention back onto the ranger.

”Do you two met while questing? Or was it just a coincidence in red?”
"IRL first actually, and a couple of weeks after we found each other in-game…"

Her words drifted into the faintest hint of a question, a slender eyebrow raising slightly upon catching something odd in the end of Fiora’s words. She wasn’t sure what the human meant by the in red part, though maybe she was referring to that weird demon bug event the game had gone through back in April?

"That was on Camp Hope."

The memory caused a faint smile to tug at her lips then, barely managing to stifle a chuckle as the surprised look on Yugam’s face crossed her mind—a part of her was still unable to believe how a single telepathic word had caused so much chaos in a very short amount of time.

"Just that you're annoying as fuck sometimes, and that your coffee sucks,"
"You talking mad shit to the person who can spit on your drink every fucking morning." She huffed, a hand going through her still blonde hairs as she gave a still emerald look back at Luthien. Or should she think of her as 'Valeria' now? That name had more weight in her mind than the nickname itself, yet the ranger elf gave far more details than Ari could have ever given her. Granted, the fact she's playing Terrasphere only proves there's a lot he wasn't opening his mouth about.

It changed things, but not enough for her to care.

"That was on Camp Hope."

"Wait, you two been at Camp Hope?" She rose an eyebrow, sharing looks back and forth between dark haired idiot and Val. "Huh, well you've been to places, not a newbie at all!" Comforting to her, and her smile showed that- That proobably meant what they were getting themselves into in TS and weren't just dragged along by Yugam. In hindsight, she might be a bit too harsh to him thinking he would be capable of that though. "Yugam could always use someone to babysit him afterall. Being roommates with him is tough."

Taking a wide sip from her mug, Fiora gave some glances at Unmei once she made her move, a thoughtful eyebrow rised for a second until she took notice of that silver haired dude on the side just casually hitting on the... Did she say weapon?

"Oh, you are not?" The man scratched at his chin and the shade he had for a beard, giving a look back at Yugam then at his 'weapon'. The implications were crystal clear to him, and for once he just gave away a short chuckle at it as reaction. "My bad, it's hard to tell them apart. Then..." His eyes had lost all shine upon Unmei, and instead, they were set on stone on Yugam, with that same energy of early. "Say, if you are a traveler, mind if I challenge you to a friendly one on one?" He merely asked, casual to the core in every mannerism he had. "The game does have a dueling function. Nothing lethal, I just like to fight other players and reward them if they can take me down. Me and the boys have been doing so for a while, and you three look pretty strong. Unless neither of you wanna, which is cool by me." He shrugged, nothing to lose in this matter.

Fiora just glanced back at Yugam just then, with a mischievous little look, almost calling predicting he would puss out of this one and letting him know her theory just there and then with a glance- Three against three? Sounded fair

"You talking mad shit to the person who can spit on your drink every fucking morning."
"Not even you would stoop that low," Yugam countered, even though he didn't entirely believe it. The man was actually pretty certain that if he pissed Nico off enough, she would do it. Thankfully, he doubted their typical banter warranted that level of spite yet.

To the rest of the insults Fiora threw his way, Yu rolled his eyes, at this point used to the constant harassment the girl threw his way. From the outside looking in, most would probably wonder how in the hell those two actually managed to live together. And from the inside, Yu also wondered that. Sometimes. In truth, the woman's pestering came in short bursts, the rest of their interactions as amicable as could they could be for the two. Which, again, probably wasn't all that much if you didn't know either of the two, but between them it was sufficient.

Meanwhile, the silver-haired Lander (was he even a Lander? He seemed to understand that this was a game...) was eager to issue a challenge to the three Travelers, one Yu was initially going to decline. He and Luth had had a full day already, and the man was eager to collapse into a bed, in-game or real didn't matter. But of course, Fiora had to ruin his plans yet again. With just a simple look, she told him she'd harass him for the next week, at least, if he declined. With a sigh, the man accepted his fate. "What are the rules?"

"Wait, you two been at Camp Hope?"
"Y-yeah…? I got to visit Camp Nisus too, though I missed the whole demon bug thing by this much."

The elf raised her hand so Fiora could see, her thumb and index finger held quite close to one another while avoiding any physical touch, just to add emphasis on her words. "Yugam could always use someone to babysit him after all. Being roommates with him is tough." The comment earned a chuckle from Lúthien before she took a sip of her mead, slowly feeling more comfortable with the presence of Yugam’s roommate.

It was then she noticed the presence of the silver haired man, her head tilting slightly as elven ears tuned in to the conversation at hand. The stranger had just turned his gaze away from Unmei, a pointed stare now given to the hunter instead, issuing a friendly challenge to the raven-haired man and the company he kept. Her eyes seemed to light up at the thought of a challenge, the girl’s competitive nature easy to trigger, and if the look on Fiora was anything to go by Lúthien was pretty sure the taller girl seemed gamed as well.

"What are the rules?"
"Also, what’s in it for us when we wipe the floor with you and your buddies~?"

A cheeky grin rested on her lips as the ranger finally joined the conversation, before the blonde took another sip from her mug as they awaited the man’s response.

"Not even you would stoop that low," So he claimed, oh so he thought...
Fiora replied with no less than a quaint smile, enough to disprove his little ray of hope, as if there had ever been limits set for her. "Keep telling that to yourself." She taunted, with a proper thumbs up at him and all.

And speaking of gestures, Luthien hit her next with stating how close she was this
🤏
close to fighting the Kuruungar, the enthusiasm despite how horrifying the reality was just made her glance back at Yugam. Hadn't the man himself been there himself? Well, the horrors that happened there would forever remain on the memories of the bunch who fought it afterall.

"Yeah I've been in that whole fiasco. Got a free ticket to space and did some skydiving along the way. Pretty fun all things considered." Thank whatever japanese deity created Toko because if it wasn't for bun-bun she would have been a splatter on the floor that day...

Their laughters lasted little as Not!Yugam issued a challenge for them, and she was the first to psychologically nudge Yugam into accepting the deal, with Luthien taking it faar better than their dark-haired victim friend, a competitive spark that not only Fio but this stranger caught up on, sharing a glance between the trio with an ever-growing, lively smile.

"Someone's eager to put us to shame? That's very good, I like it, don't disappoint me though." He paused, pulling a hand into his fancy white coat to pull a single gold coin out of it to show off to the group. "And a lot of these as payment. Even an extra, if you really wipe the floor with us." He smirked, placing the coin on the table and giving it a quick spin before his eyes directed back to Yugam. "Rule's simple: We use the UI, send eachother a duel invitation, and fight. Fight as hard as you can, game's gonna take care of your health once your hp reaches one. That's really it." Finally he caught the coin and leaned back, free hand fidgeting over the iron dogtag wrapped across the hilt of his curved sword. "Just stick to the invitation and everyone will be safe. Unless you want to give up early of course." He finally stood up with one mischievous grin, giving a glance to his own group.

Where the man had silver hair, one of them was tall, bulky and clad on raven locks of hair. At least that's what one could assume from the mane that flows beneath his helmet. A proper sword & board knight.

And the other one? Little could be said beyond her stunning beauty hidden by a cowl she wore, and a thin shape that made it hard to pinpoint it's a she on the first place, at least until she lifted her gaze up to the group, waving at them all right as their leader whistled.

"Let's take it out of the gates though. I'm not about to get kicked out of the town. Name's Kalpa, by the way."

The other two were eager to fight, something Yu would have typically been just as excited for. But the man wanted sleep. Not that he was likely to get it in any meaningful quantities. Well, maybe this would tucker him out. If nothing else, it was better than staring at the ceiling.

Yu grabbed his mug of mead and knocked the remainder back before turning towards Kalpa and offering a hand, "I'm Yugam," the man introduced himself, more in an effort to maintain good sportsmanship than any mutual respect at the moment. "Past the gates then," the man agreed with a nod. A wide field, no one to interrupt them, and no risk of collateral damage. It was the logical choice.

Getting up from his seat, the man waited for the others to introduce themselves before tossing some gold on the counter to pay for himself and Unmei, then turning towards the door to head out.

"A free ticket to… space?"

She couldn’t help the tilt of her head as Fiora’s words clicked in her mind, the blonde elf clearly puzzled by what the knightess meant. Surely it wasn’t literal… right? She took another couple of sips of her mead before things began progressing with Not!Yugam and company, crimson eyes turning to look at the rest of the white-haired man’s buddies before the ranger offered a friendly wave and a smile.

"Yeah, outside of the gates sounds like a good idea… dun want to accidentally break something, or injure someone, while we’re having some fun~"

That, however, meant quickly chugging her remaining mead—but while the blonde didn’t particularly enjoy doing that she wasn’t about to let the honeyed drink go to waste. "Thanks for the drink, Brick!" Her own share of golden coins were left on the counter, along with a bit extra for a tip, before the ranger also got to her feet and followed beside Yugam.

"I’m Lúthien, nice to meet everyone."

"Yup, high enough I touched the stars. Or maybe the lack of air just made me halluciante that part. Who knows, but it sure was high up there." She chuckled, but waved it off regardless. None of the sort happened, except the lack of air and being launched enough to reach for airplanes if they existed, but a story wouldn't be one with a little bit of fiction and exaggeration.

Brick (Name or nickname? They wouldn't get to find out) just turned back their attention to the trio, sharing a nod and a thankful smile to Luthien. Somehow, the elf's gesture went noticed where it should have been common courtesy- Either people just don't thank him enough, or do so in silence. Food for thought that came along with confirmation of such as Fiora chugged down her own drink and the blonde slammed the mug back down on the counter, with nothing left to say but to leave some extra from her drink to the man and turning her attention back to the trio of adventurers that gathered to face them off.

"Fiora. Remember the name of whose about to hand your ass over to ya'" She replied, confidence in both her skill and her ego that showed with how carefree her smile was.

"You talk loud, don't you?" The protector of the group stepped forth, matching her cockiness with an adamant stare. "Sed's the name, by the by. Pleasure's mine."

Minah gave a glance back at Kalpa, 'that' kind of stare that speaks for itself, and it had the man's wrists tied, metaphorically, as he slapped a hand right on Sed's shoulder. "Play nice. It's just a little taunting here and there..." He smirked, tapping the shoulderplate a few times before the hooded lady finally stepped next to who she regarded the brute, a quiet smile as she gently waved at Luthien.

"Minah here. Let's just get this done with, Kalpy here really thinks people got time to clash swords with him..." Half-disappointed, because this isn't the first nor last time this happened...
"Hey hey, they said yes and I told them it's chill if they said no!"
"With how pushy you are, it's hard to say no."
"I call it Charisma!"
"That's the last thing you should call it."

With the group's banter done, they would take the lead towards the exit of the town, further enough until the guards were barely in view. The plain roads were wide enough for the group, but a quick check made sure that they were not obstructing anyone's path, and with one satisfied glance around to see them completely alone, Kalpa turned back to Yugam and opened his UI with one closed fist.

"Alright then, I'll take this dance with you, Yugam."

Sed took the initiative to change equipment, stashing his sword and shield and switching to a zweihander instead, the blade thrusted straight into the ground as he pointed right back at Fiora, who adjusted her gauntlets and, without a single word, the pair of knuckleheads sent eachother a duel invitation.

Finally, Minah took a quiick second to check her status, before turning herself to face Luthien, dusting off her robes and opening her UI in a similar fashion as her companions. "Well, boys actin' like boys, right?" She chuckled, introvert vibes kicking in as her voice turned down afterwards. "I'll send it just let me find- Ah, there."

Combat Guidelines

  • All combatants will have 3 Life Points (LP) available per round.
  • The only action allowed is Normal Attack, but passives can be enabled on the character sheet.
  • Everyone has 3 Life Points (LP) for the sake of combat.
  • All rolls must be made in the #rolls channel.
  • To deplete your opponent's Life Points you would roll a Normal Attack.
  • The person being attacked can parry by rolling a Normal Attack. The DC equals the attacker's final amount
  • On a successful attack, deduct 1 LP.
  • On a critical success attack, or a critical fail parry, deduct 2 LP.
  • On a critical failure attack the opponent will not have to roll a parry, the attack will automatically fail.
  • On a critical success parry the attacker automatically deducts 1 LP. It is assumed your opponent read your move well enough to capitalize on the situation.
  • The first person to reduce their opponent to 0 LP is the winner of the match.

Kalpa

One by one, everyone introduced themselves. Luthien, pleasant as always, and as expected Fiora talked up a big game. One Yu was certain (or at least hoped) that she could back up. The man had learned from experience that the woman could pack one hell of a punch, and he pitied the knight who seemed to choose her as his opponent. Chances were he'd be feeling pretty sore the next time he logged in to the game.

After they'd all traveled out to the fields, Kalpa sent over a duel invitation to Yugam, who pressed the accept button. "May the best fighter win," Yu said, though the air of good sport didn't quite reach his words, in truth hardly caring for the fight at hand. "Unmei," he called the weapon, her human-form glowing with a bright white light before leaping into his hand in the form of a straight edged sword.

There was a brief pause as Yu waited to ensure that Kalpa was ready. There was no point in friendly competition if both player's weren't on even footing. But as soon as Kalpa showed himself he was prepared, Yu dashed forward. Unmei glided low to the ground, her tip slicing through the occasional blade of grass as she read Yu's intention.

The man closed distance quickly, though not fast enough for Kalpa to not muster his defenses. The silver-haired man's guard shifted, blade dipping to block the undercut he was sure was coming. Just as Yu came within striking distance, Unmei cut through the air, straight towards Kalpa and his defending blade. Yu's foot touched solid ground as he swung, and then he was gone. The Hunter twisted around Kalpa, towards the man's exposed side. Unmei had felt the feint coming, quick to shift her balance to aid Yu in his swift turn. With the flat of the blade, Yu aimed to strike Kalpa's back.
