"You should leave him," The sudden words caught the elf off-guard for a moment, her gaze quickly turning away to look at Unmei. Instinctively her lips had parted to protest, but the sword spirit was quicker with her words. "If you have any care for him, you'll forget him."

It caused her brows to furrow even as her lips settled in a thin line, the corners turned downwards into a light frown. The harshness in Unmei’s voice spoke of her own resolve, she truly believed this to be the best outcome for them all—and, in a way, who better than her to know given the extensive history she had with Ari? The blonde was aware that, compared to the dark-haired woman, she was only a faint blip in his life thus far—someone with whom he’d crossed paths in the real world a few months ago, and then once more in game a bit after.

"No… I won’t hate you." The mention of an accident hadn’t passed by her, the same word used by Ari when he’d explained his need to write things down in that little black notebook—no doubt one and the same. Her hands, initially balled up into tight fists, had relaxed on her lap as Lúthien took a moment to properly think. This was too important of a matter to simply allow herself to impulsively react towards it, an approach that the girl used with most things in life. "But I’m not leaving him."

She’d made her choice long before she’d been aware of it, the seriousness of her voice punctuating the finality of that statement. He was free to leave her if he so chose, after all that was a decision that only the man could make for himself, but she was determined to stay by his side for as long as he allowed it. Not Unmei, nor anyone else. Him. "After all, you said it yourself—something will happen. He’s too stubborn for his own good," A light scoff left the elf at those words, the irony of the statement not lost on her—when it came to that trait they’d both been cut from the same cloth.

"You know him better than I do… he’s not gonna stop." He’d already managed something the girl wouldn’t have thought possible had she not heard and seen it herself—after such a success there was no way he wasn't planning on something more. Quietly her eyes drifted back to gaze at the slumbering man, before a sigh parted her lips. "There’s no guarantee that you alone can protect him from the consequences of his own actions, so I’ll stay too."

Unmei sighed. She should've expected as much. For all the talk of how stubborn Yugam was, couldn't the elf see how stubborn she was? How did she think this would end for her as well? Whatever happened, it would only hurt them both.

But what was the use in arguing? She'd made up her mind.

"You're an idiot," the spirit said, voice full of vitriol. "...but, I suppose that what makes you right for him, as much as I hate to admit it...You're just as stubborn as he is."

Unmei met eyes with Luthien, her gaze locked onto the other's the oppressive stare boring into her soul. If she was so set on staying by his side, then... "In that case, I'm counting on you," she said. "He doesn't always listen to me, and I can't always stop him. So I'm counting on you to do it for me, okay? Take care of him." He would be Luthien's responsibility now, just as much as he was hers.

"You're an idiot."
"Thanks, it’s one of my best qualities~"

Her gaze had returned to Unmei as the woman spoke, a cheeky grin pulling Lúthien’s lips as she responded to her criticism. However there was no venom behind her words, the blonde knew that Unmei’s assessment of them was quite accurate—instead simply trying to diffuse some of the tension brought along by this conversation. Red eyes bore into Unmei’s silvery gaze, and no words were needed for the spirit to see the tenacity shown within them.

"In that case, I'm counting on you." Those were words the elf had not expected to hear, she had been quite positive the spirit disliked her for the most part, but the initial surprise on her face quickly gave way to a smile as Lúthien nodded in agreement. "Yeah, he’s got quite the selective hearing at times huh?" The man was as hard-headed and stubborn as a bull… though, infuriating as it could be at times, she liked that side of him too.

”Take care of him.”
"I will."
