"Blah blah, don't need the history lesson, thanks." Imoogi continued to toss scorched crabs into a pile. There were quite a few, some in better shape than others. A few even wriggled as she picked them up, but a few stabs seemed to be enough to finish them off. She wasn't perfect, but it didn't matter that much in the end. They were just crabs, and they weren't even real crabs!

She walked up to drop the last crab in the pile, which had reached a respectable size. "I think that's enough for now. I don't think I've got the inventory space for more." She took her spike and started ripping the large claw from a larger crab.

"So what do you think? Feel like having some seafood?" She grinned at Kyra as she went about her work. "It'd be a shame to kill all these crabs and leave them lying around to rot, right? Besides, not like you get to eat a land crab in the real world, right?"

It was as much a challenge as it was an offer.

Kyra's lip twitched ever so slightly as the other girl continued to display her standoffish attitude, something that Kyra couldn't quite fault the other player for at all. Everyone here played themselves differently, and for some, it was just easier to act a certain way - whether it was true to their personality or not.

If you're up for trying land crab, I'll not say no...although maybe we should eat it cooked, just to be sure. Never know what sort of weirdness is to be found beneath the dirt and sands, right?

She beamed a smile at the other girl, before realising that she should probably help out with cooking. She looked around at the area they were in, before realising just how hopeless she would be in this instance. Almost hesitantly, she spoke again.

Uhm...I can maybe start a fire...but beyond that, I don't know how much help I'd be with the whole cooking thing. I'm actually pretty dreadful at it. In fact, dreadful may not be a harsh enough word. I can burn water.

The smirk on her face was playful, in the hopes that the self-deprecating joke would soften the shell of the other player a bit, although she doubted it. Still worth a try...the girl seems lonely, in a way. Would be unfortunate if I couldn't make a friend out of her...

"Oh, don't worry." Imoogi struggled to snap one last claw from her pile of crabs, then started looking the largest crabs in the pile. "I suck at cooking, too!"

She cheerfully make her choice, picking up two crabs that weren't particularly scorched and carrying them out of the field. No point in making a fire in the wheat field, after all. She set them aside and began kicking brush into a pile.

"I've got matches, somewhere. And firewood." She removed a small stack of splintered sapling from her inventory, piling it roughly next to her 'firepit'. "Can't be that hard though. Just gotta cook it until it's done, right?"

It was pretty obvious that she had no idea how cooking a crab was supposed to work. She didn't seem to realize this, and instead went cheerfully to building up a cooking fire, while the crabs next to her stared blankly into space. Were some of them still twitching, or was that just the last impulses of a freshly killed crustacean?

Either way, this would probably be an interesting meal.

Summary; This how most adventures start. Friends meet in the fields, sometimes on a task, sometime exploring the world, often times just wasting time, letting the clock tick, tick, tick. Waiting for the seconds to run out. Sometimes people can be rough around the edges, but a bit softer toward the center. It's all a matter of angle. Sometimes their claws snap, and all times they hide, disguised with all the rest in the field.

Maybe the seeds of friendship have been sowed. Maybe Wandering Wheat doesn't taste as good as actual bread. Maybe there's more to the burrows they leave behind.

In all seriousness, I love Imoogi and Kyra's synergy of personalities. Fun read.

Score: 35. The score can be enhanced if one of you go to the #rolls channel and give me a 1d10, and then tag me after.

You both earn 1 Vesuvyan Gold as a result of this thread.

Happy Reaping Season.
