Unfolding the Unknown
"Finally we are out of that rocky place~ Ahead we are going to dive into a strange... Fungi forest? I guess it is something like Isulus."


A voice echoed in your minds, but there was no way for you to respond to it. He spoke more, but the voice sounded farther and farther, until it was barely possible to hear it.

"Uhm..? The communica— Weir—"



The voice of the faerin boy flickered away, leaving you by yourselves again.

The travel through the fungi forest was eerily quiet. The eventual sound of Myconids crawling around faded away, and the wretched creatures that were native of that nearly alien ecosystem no longer wandered carefreely.

It was clear that it was a sign that some big predator could be around, and such an obvious observation would be confirmed as soon as an arrow whistled near the ear of some of the Starcalled.

"..."


Empty eyes blinked from the trees, staring back at any of those that caught where that arrow had come from, a second before the archer moved away, giving room for a couple aberrations to merge from the ground,

Krieeeek, kriiiiieeeeeeek!


The duo of large insectoids rose from the ground, unburrowing and shielding more elves that seemed to appear one by one from that fungi ambient.

Yet, the biggest beast was still to appear, when a giant arachnid sillouette appeared from the fungi-tops of the forest, upside down and intrigued as he looked at the newcomers.

"Hihihihihi..."


The beast snickered, and his lips widened in a grin, eyes darting back and forth between his companions, that were ready to engage the battle.

Chako seriously wondered how this kept on happening... Why was she in a strange simulated place... Again!? It was the third time! The third one! How does she keep entering those by accident!?

Well, not much that can be done about it, so Chako sighed and accepted her fate... For now, she tried taking a good look at the surroundings... She stared at the mushrooms, the grass and rest of the forest and tried to see if she could remember anything from her biology classes at school that would help the team out...

Nope. I got nothing. They look like mushrooms alright.

What about those insects though? Was there anything about them on classes?

Insects were... Insects were... Well, I guess they had 6 legs?

Chako sighed again. She was never that good at biology in the first place.

Let's just focus on the stuff I'm at least somewhat competent at... Dancing!

... Chako stared at the ground for a few seconds... Yeah... This won't do. I'm gonna trip in no time.

So, she turned to look at her companions, looking for anyone she knew... There were, surprisingly, a lot of people here that she saw before. Either because of the pig or because of Trinity. The only one she hadn't seen before was the slime girl.

Alright! In that case... Let's go with the shady (?) recruiter! She'll probably give in more easily than the others!

Chako quickly approached @Little Doggo and held her hands, "Excuse me! I hope you don't mind me borrowing you for a sec!" Chako then started dancing, she went for a faster paced dance, because she figured the extremely small girl would not want to deal with something as slow as a waltz. The dance of choice was the so called "Forró", which apparently meant "for all", somehow. It was Chako's first time trying it, but she saw enough of it in metube to be confident in not tripping with the simplest steps while someone was there together with her.

... It wasn't the type of dance that Chako preferred, but it was a good choice for something done with a hyper partner.

So, as the usual faint yellow light spawned from her, and landed on her nearest allies, Chako took a step back, and gave a thumbs up to her impromptu dance partner, "Go wreck'em, Doggo!"

"Ugh, why did it have to be Isulus…" Her displeasure over the climate in this floor was verbally expressed as the ranger moved through carefully, already loathing the humidity that clung to any skin unfortunate enough to be exposed.

The voice of their guide had fizzled out long ago, something that had caused the elf to frown before an idea brewed in the back of her mind. Hmm, I wonder… should ask Ronja later— Something snapped from above, causing the ranger to pause in her steps as she signaled for the rest of the party to stop moving, just as the familiar wheezing sound of an arrow caught her attention.

She grasped @Little Doggo’s by the collar of her clothes, dragging the caenis back just in time, before the projectile embedded itself harmlessly into the squishy undergrowth. { That’s dangerous! } For a split moment she’d been able to establish a mental link with the dark elf, before Lúthien sensed as it was rudely cut off as the archer disappeared behind some purple specimens of mushrooms.

There was little time to think as various figures made themselves known, the bugs protecting two of the elven natives a curious site—though it was the upside down drider who had most of her attention. She’d never seen one of his kind before, but there had been some literature back in the League that had mentioned his kind.

Shit, what was it again… The ranger wracked her mind as she sought to remember the words written down. I know someone wrote down a couple of their weaknesses!

Another pair of elves, these ones far closer than the others she’d spotted so far, popped up in front of her. "Doesn’t look like they wanna talk, unnie." An arrow was nocked against the string of her bow as the blonde called out to @Lune, a cool breeze circling around the woman and granted her some of Lúthien’s strength, before she made note of their companion as her arrow whizzed towards the Pugilist.

Upon impact the small marble embedded into the steel tip would gleam, before a concentrated amount of cosmical energy detonated around them in a colorful spectacle of pinks, blues, minty greens, and starlight.

"Well..." Lune paused. "... This looks different than the previous simulacrum." The feel, the surroundings, and the people participating. There's Vina, Luthien, a slime girl, a little dog, and a little cat. Yes, this is not a joke.

Yet, the previous 'bug' persisted. There was no auxesis growing out of her, locking Lune from her metamorph power. That, and a certain shield-wielding heroine appeared again here.

The powerless metamorpher turned to @Luthien, who despite being an elf, seemingly could not communicate with them, or they just didn't want to. "It was her idea," She pointed toward the confused armored blonde to her right. "We tried, now should we just talk with your shield?"

Sighing, the blonde pulled down her visor. "Stay behind me," Before the pair rushed to the nearest dark elf in a tank-and-caster formation. As soon as Luthien's cosmic arrow detonated on the target, Lune quickly made a reaching and grasping motion with her hand, using gravity magic to pull back the explosion back into the Pugilist, causing the astral energy to implode and killing them instantly.

"One down," The gravimancer grinned, before ordering the simulated heroine. "Go assist that little doggo fella."

You don't like Isulus @Luthien?


Vina was quite at ease in this environment, even if it was darker than she was used to. The depths of the Tangleweaves didn't let much light in, with the giant trees blocking most of the sun's rays, but even so it was still brighter than the labyrinths depths they were plunging into. But even then the druidess was humming a merry tune as she descended further into this strange world together with her friends.

Although the loss of contact with their guide was a bit concerning...

Shaking off that worry Vina took a look at their surroundings. There were mushrooms everywhere, but unlike those inside the Isulus she knew these didn't immediately spark her memory. It took several closer glimpses before she thought she vaguely recalled something... but by that point a sharp whistling alerted her of incoming danger, the playful vixen quickly stepping to the side to avoid the arrow that came their way.

Woah!


Turning her attention towards the one responsible for the arrow the druidess frowned. It only now occurred to her that she hadn't actually seen any dark-skinned elves so far... were drow distinct from pale elves in this world like many other fantasy settings? Regardless of the answer to that question, Vina quickly turned her staff into a flute as it was clear that a fight was about to erupt. The looks of the dark elves were anything but friendly, and the large drider that had shown up...

He was laughing, but Vina doubted that he had good intentions.

Maybe they consider us intruders?


It would explain the hostile reaction, although it didn't change the reality that the other side wasn't waiting for an explanation.

Regretfully Vina began to play her flute, an encouraging tune unfolding around her to fill her allies with a sensation of newfound strength and confidence. At the same time any small scrapes and cuts they might have suffered throughout the journey into the labyrinth were smoothed over as well, ensuring that the brave heroes could fight at full strength and in peak condition, unhindered by the unfamiliar and enigmatic environment they found themselves in.

From the beginning Vina had been quite curious about the slime girl that accompanied them, similar to the one they'd encountered earlier in the labyrinth but at the same time completely different. After fiddling a little bit with the pitch and rhythm of her song she found the combination she wanted.

Tell me if this is uncomfortable, okay~?


@Nobody would not only find herself empowered by Vina's performance, but her entire body would resonate to the druidess's melody, enhancing her movements and letting all her techniques against their opponents penetrate more deeply than usual. Sound was vibrations, and in this case Vina could use the slime girl's unique body to make whoever she targeted feel those vibrations as well.

DOGGO wasn't even given a moment to react! No form of consent could be delivered as she's taken straight into a waltz with the twin tailed cat and newest healer member of the DPS LOOTER HEROIC SQUAD (actual name pending), @Chako. If anything, it proved to be a problem given their size differences, and the fact this dance far surpasses her knowledge in international cultures, which translates on stepping on the cat's feet every once in a while trying to keep up.

"I-I promise I'll do better next time! I'm sobadatdancingChakosorryforthestomp..."



It made her feel terrible, absolutely useless. Explorers should be quick on their feet, agile, snapping in a second to react to everything, including the threat of squashing your allies's toes with your diminute feet. Take @Luthien , for example...

"That almost hurts, I was this close of turning into a Skewed Doggo..."



After being dragged away like some chihuahua on a purse by the elven gyaru, Doggo dusted her clothes off as she got her balance straight on-point once again.


"You gonna have to teach me that move later, Chako! For now, I'll leave you on miss Luthien's care. Just save some cookies if she offers you. As for me..."



Doggo gave the fiercest squint she could back to the frontlines, watching how the purple-white haired woman went over to [Placeholder Post] with the strength only someone whose trained many years with the sword could ever!

"I gotta squash the Pendejos bugs; Did I say it right, miss Luthien..?"



She looked back up to Luthien in search of approval in her use of Violet Whistle Slang, giving her a thumbs up with her angery battle face all ready to charge up to the frontlines.

Sparks begun to form all over her legs, as LIL DOGGO's electro-form activated and the canine begun to rush over past Lune, aiming to protect her after her assault on the short-haired elf, and aiming her iron sword's fury straight to the hulking bug, jumping up as high as a David like herself could, only to descend with a SLASH! upon the Goliath.

Nobody had hoped this little simulation would be a private thing, to help her in her quest to avoid people as often as possible. There were, unfortunately, more than zero other people her, however. Quite a few more than zero.

"Just stay quiet, and maybe they won't notice me..."

But of course they did. They had eyes. Eyes which could see Nobody was something unusual. And they weren't the only ones, either...

"You can't leave me alone, even in a simulation...!?" Nobody protested, once she'd noticed the squishy noises of several blue slimes hopping behind her. "G-Go away! I'm not one of you! We're not related! Go on, git!" They did not, in fact, git. "Urrgh...!"

Nobody gagged once the ground beneath her boots started squishing as well. Not that squishing was unusual for her, but now it was twice the squish, which was twice the nope!

At this point, she had no real ability to control herself, as her body convulsed straight into the thick of the enemies. Her little slime army soon began to mimic the vibrations, taking the aggressive, musical jiggling as the queen's attack order. All at once, several blue slimes began spewing high-pressure water bullets all over the place.

Meanwhile, one of the larger slimes hopped on the head of the little caenis. Slimes weren't known for being able to growl at their enemies, but it did the best a slime could, throwing an aggressive gargling noise at the many enemies surrounding the little ally.

The Pugilist fell upon the attacks of the Starcalled... But not he nor his allies expressed any sentiment to it. The Drider, however, laughed maniacally. The unreadable smile being replaced by venomous brim of sadism— That distorted and sizzled like an old, faulty television— before returning to an unreadable smile once again, as if nothing had happened.

"Hiiiiii..."



It carefully crawled on the mushroom tops, puffing its arachnid bottom forward and releasing two strings of spiderwebs, that fiercely entangled @Chako and @Luthien, yanking them all the way toward the Drider, that grasped them tightly with the webs that quickly wrapped them, locking arms against their bodies, and their legs against each other, leaving them helpless surrounded by the deadly spores.

The Duelist, meanwhile, charged forward and attacked swiftly. Her sword swayed against @Lune and @Nobody's arms like knife on butter, trying to pierce through a more fatal spot, yet to no avail. The follow up came with a sudden golden barrier covering her, and a large black blaze swirling and exploding right on Lune, spreading its flames on everyone else that was near her.

The Mage duo of the Dark Elves approached, revealing themselves to be the culprits, and escorted by the large Umber Hulks that didn't hesitate to cowardly attack @Little Doggo from front and behind, pincing the back of her leg and the front of her torso, pulling her back and forth as if she was a rope in a tug of war.

... And from afar, the whistling returned one more time, and this time it didn't miss, piercing @Vina Skysong's leg, moments before the Dark Archer tried to cloak her position, keeping her distance from the heat of the battlefield.

Chako did not expect Doggo to be that bad. Like... How can someone step on my feet so many times in a short dance? This is literally my first time too, you know!?

Chako was not going to say that out loud though, "I-it's okay, I still trip a lot when I dance myself, after all." Chako gave her a wry smile.

And then, just as she let go of Doggo, she felt herself being stuck by something sticky, "N-nya!?" and then she was pulled.

Suddenly, she was right next to the giant spider, and the toxic fumes of the environment mercilessly assaulted her, "N-nyaaa!?" Chako tried to struggle, and break free of the web, but it was to not avail. She was completely entrapped.

And then, Chako saw she wasn't alone. The tanned elf was brought with her too... I have to help her... Even if I can't get out, maybe she can!

Though it's not like Chako could dance while completely entrapped by webs, so she sighed, I'm really a terrible singer... But it's okay. It could be worse. It could be a wolf. A spider is not that bad.

So, Chako tried calling the attention of the elf girl, "H-hey! Don't give up! I-it's gonna be okay! L-like..." Chako took a deep breath.


"City lights shine on the harbour, night has fallen down... Through the darkness and the shadow, I will still go on..." Then Chako rose the tone, being as loud as she could without hurting her ears, "Long long journey, through the darkness, long long way to go... But what are miles across the ocean, to the heart that's coming home...?"

As Chako sang, a faint yellow light spread on her and on the elf girl, hopefully alleviating some of the pain caused by the toxic fumes.

"L-like that! We're getting out of here and going home! Definitely!" But as Chako said that, she noticed that the poison was really getting to the elf... This is bad... She can't stay here any longer.

Chako turned her face back towards the place she was at just a moment ago, her eyes instantly locking onto Doggo's, "Doggo! She needs you! Take her away from this monster!"

It was the first time that Vina tried to create a resonance within somebody's body, as it was the first time she was adventuring together with a slime person. Unfortunately, that did mean that the result was more extreme than she had hoped, @Nobody complaining that she was going to be sick before seemingly flinging herself at the enemy to bombard the Duelist with simultaneously uncoordinated but rhythmic attacks.

As effective as it was, this clearly wasn't working.

Although before she could do much to help an arrow came from the forest of mushrooms before them, the druidess letting out a surprised and pained yelp as it pierced her leg. Fortunately, there hadn't been a lot of force behind the arrow, and as she bent over to pull it out her healing magic quickly kicked in.

Once that was taken care of she could finally fix her melody so Nobody would still feel empowered but her viscous body would no longer be spasming out.

But Vina couldn't just stand there and fiddle with her flute all day: the dark elves and their 8-legged leader weren't going to wait, and as a healer the playful vixen had work to do.

But she did also have an idea...

Dashing forward into the fray was not exactly her favourite tactic, but this time she did so with good reason. As she ran she hummed a soothing song, the pleasant sound washing over her nearby allies to help take the edge off the injuries they'd received.

As was usual when Vina wove her music into the winds, the effect went beyond healing and made those who were meant to hear it feel lightfooted as well, as if the air itself wanted to help carry them to where they wanted to be.

Once she got close enough she enacted the other part of her plan: some of the winds that followed her around instead dove into the poisonous mushrooms she'd carefully skirted around, the suddenly fierce gale blowing up a big cloud of spores before developing into a tight swirl to collect all those spores and keep them from spreading.

Sticking her hand into the heavily localised vortex Vina let her druidic magic seep into the spores, strengthening their poisonous potency before sending the airborne payload straight at the dark elf who seemed all too happy to bombard her friends with magical fire. Given that the Sorceress was comfortable standing amidst those poisonous shrooms she clearly wasn't too concerned about their effects... But that might also mean she wouldn't realise that the spore-laden gust now heading her way was far less innocent.

A dirty trick, but if she was going to throw around destructive magic so ruthlessly Vina would at least try to put a stop to that.

Of course, as long as the Priestess was helping the Sorceress that would be difficult... Vina threw a quick glance at the other female caster, hoping to figure something out which would help the adventurers deal with the support on the other team.

As usual, it's the villains who always fight in the cheapest of ways. Let alone the sorceress who splashed magic all over her when she's not even attacking her in particular, but those scummy bugs decided to play tug o' war with her diminute self!

And it hurt plenty, especially with her struggling to get those pincers off while balancing her friend on top of her hairs. Yet the blue, jiggly, dancing ball with eyes wouldn't stand idle, not when it's queen had tasked it with protecting the LIL' DOGGO.

And so it pounced straight to one of the bugs's faces, attaching its slimey, watery self onto it's ugly mantid face. It was a success, as it forced it to let go of Doggo's leg, which opened up plenty of possibilities for the canine explorer, such as ZAPPING the ever living hell out of that bug's grasp and break free from it's grasp.


"NOOOOOOO DON'T HURT 'EM, THEY ARE INNOCENT! PLEASE!"



She shouted, hard enough for her throat to probably go sore tomorrow and the day after, yet it was too late, as no matter how much she wished for her voice to channel ancient nordic powers, it did not stop the apathic hulk from tearing off the slime from it's face, leaving only a puddle of what it once was a slime.


"CURSE YOU, CHITINOUS GIANT! DISGUSTING AND TERRIBLE ATTEMPT OF A VILLAIN! YOU ARE ONLY A PAWN AND NOTHING MORE, A CLASSLESS GRUNT WITH NO REGARDS FOR STANDARDS ON VILLAINHOOD! BUT I, DOGGO, WILL BRING YOU DOWN AFTER WE TAKE ON YOUR MULTI-LEGGED, SPIDERMAN BOSS, THISS I PROMISE, BUG! JUSTICE FOR THE INNOCENT BLUE FREND!!!"



LIL DOGGO snarled, reinvigorated by @Vina Skysong, and given the impulse only a true support could grant her, much like how the squad's premiere healer, Chako, could, which only reminded her of the predicament the little Ruby-like cat had gotten herself into, much like her mentor, dragged by this evil Spiderman wannabe boss.

Lightning begun to shift through her body, vibrating with speed as every bit of her tail's fur spiked up the second she begun to dash across the battlefield, setting her sights on her trapped friends and the big bad meanie, and as soon as they were all in her reach, Doggo jumped up, sending slashes from her little sword to expertly snap the webs holding back the little healer.


"CHAKO! Prepare one of your super duper buffs. This time, we facing a real bad guy, and Doggo's going to show you how we wipe the EVIL from this world!"



And just to do a demonstration of her claims, Doggo rised the tip of her sword towards the Drider, with several beams of light escaping from it and heading straight towards her corrupted foe, piercing through as if flesh weren't there, because of course, the most terrible of evils always are weak to the unfathomable power of the light.

Nobody felt her body slowly calm down as Vina "tuned" her (at least that’s kinda what it felt like). It was now more like a pleasant, rhythmic massage, which Nobody would absolutely, positively never admit out loud… that she enjoyed quite a bit.

"Please don’t do that again…" she begged. "You’re a pretty good singer, though…"

Nobody finally realizing she’d warbled all the way into the middle of things. Death, poison, and squish mushrooms everywhere. Plus angry elves, couldn’t forget those. And worse: so many slimes! Where’d they even come from!?

Hoping to get away, Nobody ran off into the mushroom forest, oozing with a disturbing looking purple miasma. It took some work, running, jumping, flipping and such, but she eventually landed on the other side, as the music pulsing through her body compelled her to finish with an flashy mid-air spin!

…only to be faced with dozens more slimes on the other side.

"How!?" she cried.

As the pair dueled the Duelist, Lune's back was exposed to the Sorceress, catching a well-aimed fireball to her upper body. The pain lasted only for a second, as the melody carried by the wind brought by Vina quickly healed her and made it easier to move. It was also then that she realized that both Chako and Luthien were snatched.

Quickly dashing through the wilderness, ignoring the other elves, they arrived a distance away from the gigantic enemy.

"You go free Luthien, I'll blast him back."

Charging her gravity ball on her left palm for a second, Lune punched it with her right fist, causing it to burst into a gravitational blast toward the Drider. However, it didn't manage to stun or stagger the Drider. "Tch," The side effect of this simulacrum, perhaps? Was her power being equally divided to facilitate the simulated heroine?

Some of the mushrooms around it got crushed and blasted into the menacing Drider, mixing with the poisonous mist. It didn't seem to do anything much, for now. Either way, the attack served as a distraction long enough for the blonde to get close to Luthien and break her free.

There was no reaction from the dark elves as one of their own caved against the Starcalled onslaught, but she had little time to think of that as multiple spider threads wrapped around her. Any possible vocal expression of disgust was quickly replaced by a shrill as the blonde was forcefully dragged towards the massive drider along with the younger felis.

Being wrapped and dangled from a spider web paled compared to the toxic mushroom spores they were forced to inhale, and the elf struggled to keep tabs on the things happening around them as her body struggles against the poison now coursing through her system. She was vaguely aware of @Little Doggo as her junior reached them first, a feeble "G-Get Chako outta here…!" instructed to the younger whistle.

She adamantly believed that neither young one should cop a death here, simulation or not.

Her own restraints suddenly loosened not long after, the familiar purple and snow colored strands of hair a welcomed sight as @Lune freed the blonde. "What took you s-so long, unnie?" The little tune from @Chako had mended ehr wounds and soothed the building up nausea Lúthien had been struggling against, but the distinct purple tint underneath her eyes as she offered Lune a half-hearted smile made it clear the poison was far from being cleansed in its entirety from her system.

"Pay him double for me." A hand clasped on her unnie’s shoulder for support, infusing the woman with some of her energy once more, before the elf turned her attention to the source of all the magical fire that had assaulted most of their party… but not before infusing some of the nearby mushrooms by the drider with her own.

They exploded around the drider around the same time that Lúthien found a good vantage point to aim for the sorceress. Shaky hands struggled to nock her arrow all the way back as the poison pulsed through her system, though she was satisfied her aim proved to be enough as the arrow reached the intended target—wrapping the sorcerer in a dazzling explosion of colorful nebulae.

Seeing her ally being severely wounded, the Priestess wasted no second to mutter a holy plea, wrapping the Sorceress with a miraculous recovery... And empowered, the Sorceress showed a complete lack of mercy compared to her companion.

"Hmph!"



The necrotic fire blasted against @Vina Skysong, wrapping her in flames and being followed up with the Duelist's fierce engage, that swatted the side of her blade against the fox woman's wrist and quickly tried to slash her throat, barely missing it.

"KRIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEGH!"



Meanwhile, the giant insectoids bruteforced their way toward @Lune and @Nobody, trying to maul both of them down with their large frames and pincers. The Archer continued with her volley of arrows, targetting the gravimancer with sharp arrows that never missed their destiny.

"Hiiiyeeeh!"



The Drider hissed and leaned away when struck by the Starcalled, clicking his tongue and frowning. His gaze followed between @Chako, @Luthien and @Little Doggo, before cackling and pouncing at the youngest cat, sinking his sharp fangs against her shoulder and nearly yanking pieces of her flesh out, while his legs lunged forward and glued against the skins of the elf and the dog girl. The 'fur' dug into them, and when he forcibly pulled the legs away, it felt like cold wax being pulled from the skin.

Letting the trio go, the Drider moved away, shooting webs toward the nearest mushroom tops and sending himself flying out of their reach.

After seeing Doggo's slime friend get sadly stomped down, and her outburst of pure anger, Chako saw Doggo approach and rescue... Her? "W-wait, no, Doggo! The elf girl needs it more!"

Doggo seemed to be having none of it though, and made sure to take Chako out of the webs... Luckily enough, the purple-haired woman came for the elf's rescue soon enough, so both Chako and the elf were freed and... Wait, how did the elf know my name? Did I ever introduce myself to... Oh, right, Doggo just shouted my name out loud. No wonder... Actually, I heard the elf's name just now too. She is Luthien, and the purple-haired... Unnie? Alright, then. If that's the name she chose, then that's her name.

And then came the wave of attacks. One after the other... It hurt a lot. Not as much as what that horrible twin-tailed mascot did, but it still hurt plenty... I'm not sure if I would still be in my feet if Doggo hadn't rescued me... Perhaps being selfless wasn't the best of ideas in a battlefield, "Thanks, Doggo... I don't think I can buff right now though. Not with you and Luthien in the state you are." or the other healer of the group for that matter, "Leave it to me, though! I'm not gonna disappoint!"

Honestly, Chako was feeling terrible. She spent way too long near those poisonous mushrooms, but she just couldn't stand by idly while everyone else was hurt.

I just need someone, or something to lean onto... Chako's eyes quickly moved across the battlefield before landing... There! At a particularly big slime that was following the slime girl.

"Give me a hand, big friendly slime!" Chako moved with unsteady steps and ragged breathing towards the slime. She leaned onto it just to stop herself from falling, then proceed to start dancing a simple waltz. The first dance Ruby taught her. It was all that she could manage at her current state... Luckily enough, it was still a dance that was very precious to Chako, and that loved doing again and again.

Very unsteady steps aided by a giant slime that absolutely did not know how to dance... Chako felt like she was back in her first day in Terrasphere. Back at that time before she met Ruby, where she failed at the most basic dance steps that she tried doing... The difference that some guidance made could not be overstated.

Still... The magic manifested itself. The faint yellow light quickly went towards its intended targets. The other healer supporting the team. Doggo who was heavily wounded by the spider's attacks, and Luthien who really needed to get that poison out of her system.

Then, Chako lost the last of her strength and sat down next to the giant slime and stroke its head... "You did great..."

The large slime didn’t particularly enjoy being used as a crutch for some weird catgirl ritual. It had a queen to attend to, and this strange human-animal amalgamation was getting in the way! Nevertheless, it was (barely) intelligent enough to understand that this weird ritual was ultimately benefitting the allies of Her Highness.

Nobody gave no warning as she raised her hands, summoning a giant bubble of water and blasting it at the elf girl like a cannon. A more helpful teammate might’ve said something like "Here, let me help wash that poison off you, valued ally!" Instead, she said nothing, hoping this would be correctly interpreted as helpful

Glancing around, Nobody found a half-dead catgirl resting on the side of a very annoyed big slime. "Honestly, you’re supposed to avoid the poison…!" she muttered to herself, running up and boldly shoving the catgirl into the slime, with a satisfying "shwoop" sound.

"Heal! No eat!" Nobody commanded. They stared off for a few seconds as Chako began to feel a painful stinging sensation. "No! Bad!" Nobody slapped it. "Just heal. Understand?" The slime returned an indignant look, but the pain was quickly replaced with a soothing coolness.

After a while, the slime finally spat out the catgirl in a not-so-gentle fashion, leaving her feeling oddly refreshed.

In the meantime, the smaller slimes continued to roam around, causing a ruckus. A few bold ones continued bonking the giant bug nearby, while another managed to absorb and modify some poison from the environment to spew on it.


In that chaos, Nobody suddenly fixated on the giant spider man. Those glistening muscles, that chiseled jaw… wasn’t he a monster? Why did he suddenly look so… oh, heck no!

"NOPE!!" Nobody protested, shutting her eyes and shaking her head frantically. Standing alone amidst enemies, Vina quickly relearned the lesson that the support should try to stay behind the frontline. She'd hoped that catching the Sorceress with a gust of enchanted spores would keep her from retaliating, but as the Priestess cast her divine magic those hopes were dashed and the vixen could only lift her arms to try and ward off the necrotic flames.

Having been in Terrasphere for quite some time now the druidess was no stranger to pain, but getting burned alive was still somewhere at the top of the list of most unpleasant experiences. As the flames ate at her flesh she could only barely hold on to her flute as the Duelist whacked her wrist with the flat of her swift blade. Ironically, the stinging sensation at least gave her enough warning to evade most of the follow-up, blood welling up but a fatal injury prevented.

Thankfully the ravaging flames were only temporary, the Sorceress unable to keep up a continuous stream of such potent magic. However, Vina was already in bad enough shape just from that alone, and she would've panicked if a soothing sensation didn't wash over her soon after, courtesy of her dancing feline ally.

I shouldn't stick around...


Between herself and all her friends were two large insectoid behemoths, and a field of poisonous shrooms. Dancing out of reach of the Duelist Vina glanced at the Umber Hulk, but its aggressive posture showed her no opening she could exploit to get past.

Which left the poison field.

Spinning her flute in her hand the musical instrument grew and extended into a staff with a many-branched head. As she started running the branches caught the air, summoning winds that swirled around the druidess and her instrument as she headed straight into the poison field.

With laughter and hope the heroes do embark~
Even as they enter a land of endless cold and dark~

The world ahead may be barren plains of grey~
But for the brave and bright that is a mere display~

They carry the promise to turn the land all green~
Bringing with them life and light as far as can be seen~

As the sun shines on new plains of golden wheat~
A land of heartful joy~

As the winds swirled around her they picked up the poisonous spores released by the mushrooms, gathering them even as the spinning of her staff kept the spores from reaching the druidess herself. The playful vixen practically danced her way through the terrain, occasionally jumping over the overgrown fungus until finally she jumped on top of one to use it as a launching pad to clear the remainder of her path.

Landing amidst her friends she quickly spun around and twisted her wrist to swing her staff towards the nearest Umber Hulk, sending the majority of the poison-laded winds straight at the chitinous guardian. Like the dark elf, she doubted that the bigger opponent was prepared for spores enhanced by her magic.

However, that wasn't the only trick up her sleeve, and not all of the spores had been given the same treatment. The first twist of the wrist was followed by another, and grabbing her staff with both hands she planted the butt in the soil, signalling the winds that remained near her to slow down and come to a halt.

The spores that still were following her melody had been purified, removing their poison and instead imbuing them with regenerative magic. Now that Vina's song had come to an end they began to drift down like a slow rain, healing herself and her friends as the playful vixen pulled her staff out of the ground with a twirl.

The situation in the middle of the woods quickly got out of hand, with the archer peppering the pair with volleys of seemingly infinite arrows from out of sight, while from the right side, a Umber Hulk came and threatened to smash them if not for the blonde's shielding.

Thankfully Vina quickly arrived close and rejuvenated the group currently under fire from all directions. "Not much, but the dark elves are currently too comfortable playing on their home turf." Lune replied, noting that they are currently at a disadvantage.

"We'll need to split up. I'll try picking off the backline." The heroine pointed toward the Dark Elf Priestess in the distance, covered behind the other enemies. "Good idea." The pair quickly circled to the left, trying to get an ambush on the unsuspecting elves.

As they closed in, the blonde shielder dashed quickly before delivering a running shield bash. The Umber Hulk quickly noticed and intercepted, but the blow was quite strong, still damaging the priestess to its side.
