The travel through the fungi forest was eerily quiet. The eventual sound of Myconids crawling around faded away, and the wretched creatures that were native of that nearly alien ecosystem no longer wandered carefreely.
It was clear that it was a sign that some big predator could be around, and such an obvious observation would be confirmed as soon as an arrow whistled near the ear of some of the Starcalled.

Empty eyes blinked from the trees, staring back at any of those that caught where that arrow had come from, a second before the archer moved away, giving room for a couple aberrations to merge from the ground,

The duo of large insectoids rose from the ground, unburrowing and shielding more elves that seemed to appear one by one from that fungi ambient.
Yet, the biggest beast was still to appear, when a giant arachnid sillouette appeared from the fungi-tops of the forest, upside down and intrigued as he looked at the newcomers.

The beast snickered, and his lips widened in a grin, eyes darting back and forth between his companions, that were ready to engage the battle.
