After that mysterious room that had soothed what little strength he had lost, he found himself on the move again, only this time, things began to quiet down much more than he liked. If that wasn't bad however, the corridors hadn't changed. If this kept up? And he managed to run into an actual viable threat that could challenge him? He could find himself in quite the pickle. With these tight corridors, It would prove difficult to use his odachi, and with seemingly no exit in sight, making tactical withdraws would be difficult as well. As he was making his way down the next corridor however, yet another that stood seeped in magical residue, he remembered the fact he had access to his mastery over lightning and wind. While certainly useful, He wasn't sure how he implement them. He have to wait out for the situation to play out before he knew what to do next.

Regardless, after spent a further several minutes making his way through another few corridors with nothing in sight, he once more came across yet another door, this one similar to the last. Rolling his eyes, he sighed as he moved to open the door. "Here we go again." Opening the second tattered door he had came across, he found himself pushing his brow up as he found himself in yet another magical room, only this time was It was gold? "Question best asked for later." He mused. While there was still a part of him that wanted to know more, to give it another twirl, all he cared about right now was moving on. Pushing it out of his mind, he pressed on, leaving the golden hue room behind him. The only thing that mattered right now was finding the exit or whatever the boss might be at the end. He was still hopeful he find somebody eventually, not that the lone wolf thing bothered him much.

After saving someone from a trap and instantly clearing a complex puzzle with unintended game mechanics, Tris was flying high (metaphorically speaking, she hadn't quite figured out flight yet). As she confidently marched along, she suddenly felt one of the tiles under her right foot shift.

Wow, how ironic...

Tris narrowly leapt back just in time to avoid getting enveloped in the dark cloud of shadow as it filled the hallway. It advanced, but just as quickly, Tristaria raised her hand and thrust it forward, filling the hall with a powerful gust of wind. The cloud slowly thinned, and then faded away entirely.

"Whew..." she sighed in relief, moving on.

The hills walls are alive with the sound of music unknown magic. Ayna couldn't help herself. She had to make that quip in her head. As she ventured into the dungeon, the so-called Travelers Gate, she tried her best to focus and not get lost. Unfortunately for her, the halls appeared similar to her, confusing her and making her run around in circles.

That didn't stop her from searching for loot, however, and even managed to help the other Players in this dungeon. "You guys stay safe, all right?" She waved at Akiva and Crimson Ruby before zipping elsewhere, finally coming across her tavern buddies, @Kamala Graham and @Pete Simpson. "How are you two holding up? Got a bit lost myself lost but managed to still do good! This dungeon is full of surprises, isn't it?"

Surprises that may prove to be deadly if we're not careful. She wondered then if the game developers were a tad strict in this aspect of the game. If people have already...perished before, do these dungeons contribute to the danger to the Players' lives? Probably not. Probably yes. Ayna wasn't that well-learned about these things yet. Maybe in time.

Post 1 out of 5 for Cycle 2
Role: Scout

He had heard tales about the dungeon and the dangers and treasures that could be found lurking inside. And chasing a new high, a new experience was always the top of his priority list. The main issue was the fact that he had no one to go in with, that would watch his back in the eventuality that he would run into trouble. Glancing on his friend's list he'd spot two familiar names in the area. Blinking he tap on them and shoot them message and sending the girls a party invite.

'Team up for the dungeon?'

Once it was accepted? He'd light a cigarette and take a deep draw before making his way down into the depths, following the trail to Triss's location. Stopping at the entrance to the golden room blinking at the gaudiness as he ran over to tap her on the non-crow shoulder. Did she have that last time? He couldn't remember, he'd have to get better at paying attention to others.

"I made it." He'd call over stopping by her side. A nod was given towards the man that was also nearby. Though without a name he didn't have much to say in the way of greeting. If it was a friend of Triss she'd probably take charge again and introduce him. Blinking he looked past the man with a quizzical look, spotting a symbol on the wall that didn't match the pattern of the rest of the room.

"I think, there is something this way? Another path instead of that exit." he spoke over his shoulder to her to stop the progress and reach over to press upon the symbol. With a rumble the wall would cave in on itself revealing an alternate passage and route deeper within. "Want to check this way instead? The others probably already went that way." He'd say pointing towards the way they had been heading.

"Hey hey!" Brutus had to hustle to keep pace with the rate that @The Guy and @Corsair were going. HE hardly had time to scan the environment for any dangers when suddenly a trio of those weird prototype things jumped out. "WATCH OUT." He dashed forward, drawing his canon. The DPS prototype charged forward to meet him, slashing its blades along his legs. "FUCK." He spat, gritting his teeth as he kicked the thing back. It reared its blades up towards him, but was met with the barrel of his canon pointed at its face. Before he could pull the trigger, the Tank prototype rushed forward, shoulder checking the DPS creature out of the way and eating his attack on the chin.

Brutus scowled, it was doing his job for them, that would be annoying. They would need to eat through him and the Support bot in order to make this less complicated.

As what seemed to be a frog robot from the person named @Corsair had latched towards Darko's body, he then felt some sort of relief coursing through his lungs, but not enough for the poison to wane its effects. But still, it helped a bit. Darko then stopped and said a short "Thanks." before moving on.

But he had not made his distance from the group when another group of enemies moved towards them. And they seemed to have synchronized their movements so much as it should be hard for him to pick them out one by one. He needed to devise a plan, and quick. Fortunately @Brutus Dahlgren had blasted his cannon towards the group, disorienting them enough for Darko to analyze them. Instantly, he came out with a plan.

Four shots. Darko targeted the leg joints of the tank and the wielding arm of the DPS, firing in succession. This should disorient them further, but then a blast of energy from the support came onrushing towards Darko. But even this was an anticipated move, as he was prepared to take it if ever. The blast came straight towards Darko's chest, but he then moved so as the blast only hit Darko's left shoulder. But by then he had did his job, as the two units could not move effectively after his attack.

"Everyone, attack while they are disoriented, now!" He then shouted.

"What the hell is that thing?" Ayna immediately exclaimed at the sight of the interrupting creature. Quickly brandishing Calamity's Light, her lips curled into a grin, her eyes burning a determined shade. If anything, Ayna was a doer, never a waiter. Although the smarter course of action was to wait and let the other, more experienced Players handle the thing, especially since she had a lot to still learn about how these things usually went, Ayna was going to let her lightning and her spear do all that talking. "I'm going to stab it!"

❰ Divine Change: Source of Mystery ❱

Without even waiting for the others to talk her out of her highly reckless decision, Ayna bolted at the damned thing, the tip of her polearm already charged with lightning. Two other Players have already done a hefty amount of damage on the guy, it seemed to her. She needed to make her quickly, too. Disappearing and then reappearing in a flash of lightning, more short-distance teleportations than anything actually compelling, Ayna charged at the monster with zero hesitation, stabbing it right in its heart, or at least where its heart should be, with steel and electricity! Even though the creature still managed to vibe check her with a rising uppercut as its last resort, Ayna declared her victory and triumph with a maniacal laugh. "Nyahahahaha!"

"Whew, that was fun!" She continued grinning without missing a beat, turning to her companions as she got back to her feet. Ayna quickly brushed the nonexistent sweat off her brow, ignoring the bruise around her chin, as if she just tried to tip a giant cow and was kicked to the moon and back, even though all she did was straight-up crash into the monster. "What's next?"

The whole fight was a blur. Brutus let one shot off and then suddenly all hell broke loose as two more joined the fray, and with vicious prejudice blasted their foes away with overwhelming force. One looked to have been incredibly calculated, maximizing their damage whilst minmizing their risk factor, while the other one had taken a very aggressive "Go big or go home" take on the whole thing.

"Nice work!" he would call out to @Ayna Nietzsche and @Darko Ljubicic

He would turn back to @Corsair and @The Guy and give them a thumbs up, eyes twinkling a bit with mirth. IT would appear they'd gone another fight without either of them getting hurt, and given how long this thing seemed to be, that was quite the accomplishment. If they weren't careful, this dungeon was going to wear them down before long, and that would make continuing further to the end nigh impossible.

"Well, those fuckers are done and dusted. Shall we continue?"

As Tristaria wandered along, continuing to explore the dungeon, she arrived in a large room just in time to see a team of three half-finished enemies drop to the floor as a team of three players smashed them to pieces.

"Nice work." She didn't look impressed, even though their moves were pretty darn cool looking.

The party moved on. Not wishing to trigger yet another shadow beast trap, Tris was carefully watching the floor, and in so doing, she managed to notice a very faint arrow pointing at the wall, which was disguised into the decorative carvings of the tiled floor. Touching the wall with her hand, it suddenly swiveled, revealing a dark, hidden passage.

"I think this is a shortcut,"
she guessed, beckoning any followers to join her. "It's worth exploring, I think."

As Darko shouted, he then realized something else entirely. As he analyzed the situation, he proceeded to the conclusion that there might be a fourth member hiding somewhere, where the others only had seen three. As another person @Ayna Nietzsche then moved to finish the three off instantly, the current crowd shouted in jubilation. Except Darko. He had a lingering feeling that something else had been lurking around in that area, and he could not shake it. Eventually he had to say this.

"Not yet! I am sensing something else hiding from the shadows, ready to pounce. Stand ready, you idiots!" Darko shouted, but his voice was then drowned by the large man's voice entirely. But Darko wanted them to realize the threat as soon as possible.

As soon as he said those words, the shadow then started its move, charging towards the party. "Damn it, it's not yet over!" he then muttered as he moved towards the front, ready to aim his revolver. But it was too late for him to react: the shadow then slashed at him towards the chest, ripping off his clothes and leaving a nasty gash. Not losing his composure, he then fired at the shadow as it left focusing his dark magic on his bullets, but it did not seem to have any effect as it slinked back into the darkness.

Without facing the group, Darko then shouted, "This is why you should not lose your focus while you are in a dungeon, you bunch of short-witted people! Anything can happen!" before storming off to find more threats.

Treasure Hunter

Receiving the call for a Party, Mio wore a weary expression, but was glad for the help. Her luck just hadn't been great on her excursion but maybe it'd improve with others? Thinking that she'd take a few more turns until she found @Hayate and @Trissayne Lavelle with a smile and a wave. "Hey~ How's everything been?" She asked hoping the pair had been in good spirits since last they met. Confronting the bandits hadn't been a bit rough but still remembering that she'd managed to lend a good hand she felt a bit better about things.

Still even as she walked, her plan remained the same, her tail slopping ink onto a wall as she moved from time to time to make sure she didn't travel the same place twice. At the very least she assumed she was better off then some who might have gotten wickedly lost or gone in circles. Though as they moved, there would be occasions Mio would glance off to one side, usually she had pretty good senses for things like treasure and the like. Just as she was setting off to take a detour to explore for some kind of loot though she'd hear Hayate's choice of another direction. "Eh? That way?" She paused, but in the end decided to follow along as they explored. No treasure, but no risk either at least, he had a sharper eye then her when it came to that no doubt, so she chose to trust the man's instincts instead.

Corsair's whole view of the battle had been blocked by the surging figure of @Brutus Dahlgren. They had arrived in a chamber with a trio of enemies, at exactly the same time as a stream of high-level players.

Already outnumbered, the Prototypes hadn't stood a chance, and were reduced to dust and shattered components before Corsair had a chance to look at them.

As the charged smoke cleared, she scuttled forward, shoving pieces of the broken bots into her bags. What may appear as garbage to another adventurer was as good as gold to the fledgling magitech.

Corsair gave Brutus a quick thumbs up, content with her haul. If they got out alive she would have enough components to make something truly exciting. A snake maybe? Or possibly even a wolf for Fujitsu.

"We must be nearing the end," she said, stepping lightly around the scorch marks on the floor.

Tris carried on down the mysterious shortcut, eventually exiting into the main halls again. At this point, the dungeon was starting to look well-cleared, with several dead enemies lining the floors, and players running around in relative safety.

Checking her needs meters, it looked like she was getting a bit tired. Nothing too serious, but enough to make her wonder just how long it would be until they reached some sort of conclusion. However, as soon as she considered this, Tris came across a strange glowing symbol on the ground which filled the hallway with a soft, blue glow. Out of the corner of her vision, she watched the rest meter fill back up a bit.

"Well... that's convenient,"
she nodded, carrying on.

@Corsair

From behind, Tris heard a few voices, and turned to notice a small group, particularly a lady with similarly colored hair with a variety of scraps from the previous battle bulging out of her bags. A fellow tinkerer? She slowed down to join the group, approaching her side and glancing at the magitech scraps she'd claimed.

"Should I be collecting stuff too?" Tris asked, clearly having not read the finer details of the mastery yet. "I thought the materials just came with the mastery..."

"I can feel it." Brutus replied back to @Corsair and grinning a little bit as he watched her gather up her horde of bits and bobs. He imagined she would be spending the next couple of days constantly tinkering and tonkering with all of that loot in order to make a new friend. A light jingle caught his ear, almost imperceptible had he not had his heightened bestial senses. His ears perked up and he squinted, scanning the hallways. He took a couple steps past @The Guy and turned a corner. The flicker of a cat tail danced past the next turn and Brutus turned back to the group.

"Hey! I think I just saw that cat lady this way!" He called out, jogging carefully down the hallway, turning the next corner just to get another glimpse of Trinity. "I think we're going the right way!"

Triss glances at the shoulder holding her transparent crow who, at being mentioned, immediately caws again. She smiles at this newcomer and nods her head.

"Tanks," she says. "Is a funny little ting I can do. It won't always be being a crow. Sometimes it's a fox, sometimes it's a snake; always a friend."

It isn't too long before @Hayate and @Mio Ban find her and Triss eagerly accepts their request to join up as a party. The sound of battle erupts in a different direction than Hayate leads them and Triss ignores it in favor of introductions. "I'm Trissayne, dis is Mio, and dat is Hayate. I'm not be knowing who dis new person is ( @Akiva ), but dey seems ta also be a friend. Or maybe just as lost as me."

It's from Hayate's guidance that Triss doesn't wander down an adjacent hallway that has a terrible monster down it which will most certainly wreck her face. Praise be Hayate.

Though certain he hadn't looped in a circle, Ru began to doubt his own sanity as he stumbled across what appeared to be a second golden hued room. Pausing to do a double take over his shoulder, the lepus looked back questioning, wondering if his directions had gotten reversed at some point. No, the markers he had left behind for the others were still there. As for why the creators had felt the need for a second room of equally useless nature… he was unable to determine.

"What a strange sense of deja vu… almost started doubting myself for a minute there."

Thankfully both this room and the last seemed harmless enough. Passing by quickly, he'd only spare a cursory glance, wondering quietly to himself whether the two were related and hid some deeper secret behind them.

Post 2 out of 5 for Cycle 2
Role: Scout

Everything was going smoothly, the alternate route that they had taken allowed them to bypass and skip whatever terrible creature it was that the others had ran into. The sounds of combat echoing through the passages down towards them. And from the sounds of it? They were lucky, especially with the sounds of war dying down so quickly. Either it would've been a waste of time for the party to join in and help, or they would've been wasted alongside everyone else. Maybe they'd run into another player and hear the news of what happened.

"Well enough so far." He'd reply to Mio, no doubt jinxing himself for what was to come.

For now, he focused on guiding the others safely towards the end of the dungeon and they'd deal with combat. Ignoring two branching side paths, he kept them going the right way. Passed a trapped room and a dangerous encounter. Sadly for him, so focused on the others he didn't spare enough attention for himself taking a step too far into the room he stopped Mio from entering. And with gritted teeth he bore the brunt of a fireball trap, spinning around so that it struck his back, burning his clothes.

"Fuck, that hurt." he'd mutter to himself after an exclamation of pain. "The red rooms fucking suck." Cursing was surprisingly a novelty to him, if not a bit repetitive for the others. At least he hoped it wasn't, but he could always learn new ones as time passed.

'I should have used that fire to light a smoke, at least it would have been good for something.' he mused internally through the pain.

The clang and clash of battle echoed faintly in the distance. For a brief moment, Akiva turned towards it, tempted, but self-preservation won out. No way he made it out of a fight, not when he could count the number of days he'd been splunking through TerraSphere.

"Trissayne," he repeated with a grin. "It is a pleasure. Does your, uh, little companion have a name as well?"

He turned toward the two new strangers with an overly enthusiastic wave of his hand. "Mio and Hayate. I am both — a lost friend, you could say. Nice to meet the both of you."

He surveyed the dark corridors and chuckled, mostly to himself. "I just started playing, like, the other day," he admitted, scratching his cheek and smiling sheepishly. "Probably shouldn't be down here."

Akiva shrugged, then nearly slipped on something. With a shout of surprise, he flailed wildly, barely managing to regain his balance by using a wall to stabilize himself.

He blinked. Somehow, he felt even better than he had. The smile on his face widens. "But what fun is playing it safe? And now I have all of you as protectors!"

@Trissayne Lavelle @Mio Ban @Hayate

Teasure Hunter

Mio had been following along but her words of treasure possibilities might have pushed Hayate in the wrong direction. "E-Eh? Are you okay?" She asked glancing into the room behind him, seeing him burned, she couldn't help a bitter expression on her face. That way smelled of coin, but at the same time it might not be worth the dangers of the fire balls. Shaking her head, she tried to pat Hayate off the best she could, unfortunately she wasn't much of a healer, but she tried to help @Hayate how she could.

Of course, when they spotted the Shadow cloud from afar, Mio again wore a bitter expression. "That's the bastard I ran into earlier. It kind of roughed me up good. I've been trying to paint the walls where I've been so I avoid it, we must not be out of it's territory." Mio explained, she'd run across the monster before at least. "Just don't try to fight physically, I'm not so sure normal weapons work on it." She tried to offer to @Trissayne Lavelle

Though @Akiva waving made her wave back with a pair of fingers. Smiling back, as brightly as she could given their misfortune, she tried her best to be positive as well. "Ah, yeah, at least it's easy enough to back track to safety. Try not to take super big risks out here at least." She hoped to give advice, she was new as well, perhaps newer then Akiva but she was prone to making escape routes and surviving despite the odds she thought.
