It was her again.
Trinity as she called herself.
Even with the swiss cheese that was her memories, Blank could recall at least that.
However, the memories were far from kind as she pictured herself and Magi barely clinging to life as the AI slowly broke down before them. She shivered as she remembered her weaker past self struggling as Magi fought on bravely, if she had been there...

Looking back up everyone else had followed the blue-haired girl, leaving Megan behind. With a yelp, she scooted forward somehow going through the wrong entrance to the second part of the dungeon as she tried her best to catch back up. "Wait for me!" She screamed, staying lost for several minutes and having to get creative in passing a few normally impassable areas through sheer luck and abusing ice path magic. Sometimes she seriously wondered why she seemed to be the only magician who focused on ice magic, it was seriously hacked at times. It was easier to think about that than the past.

Role: Treasure Hunter. Once per cycle you may make an extra Expertise Check (Knack) for 10 HP against the Treasure DC (under DP top of page) to search for loot. Success increases the effects of 2 tagged ally's positive event rolls this cycle (increase effects by 25). Failure costs you an additional 10 HP.

Post 1 of Cycle 2

Cyrus had not jumped onto the 'Beginner Dungeon' bandwagon immediately, but rather made his way there on his own time. Thus, he was not surprised to see that the initial area had been cleared by the time he arrived. If he'd known he'd just missed the short welcoming speech by Terrasphere's mascot, Trinity, he might have been disappointed, but as it was, he was merely eager to get going to the next area.

He strolled through the metallic door torn of its hinges. The narrow hallways immediately gave him the heebie-jeebies, and he shivered. Cyrus rubbed his arms, but didn't let the ominous atmosphere deter him from exploring. However, it was difficult to allay his nervousness when he was on his own.

"He-ey, anyone here?" he called out, as he entered the Labyrinth proper, head swiveling left and right.

One of the branches took him to a dead end, but as Cyrus prodded at the wall, one of the bricks gave away, revealing a small pile of colourfol stones, and even a few coins within the cache. "Ooh, shiny!" It might not have been much in the grander scheme of things, but it bolstered his confidence. A lucky start was a good sign!

Grinning to himself, Cyrus made onwards. At one point, he noticed a strange symbol on the ground. He crouched down next to it, inspecting it carefully. His palm inched ever-so-carefully closer, ready to detract in case this was a trap.

But, no, as soon as he touched it, the symbol glowed, and a soothing feeling spread across his body. Cyrus patted the floor in thanks, and went further in with a pep in his step.

"Now, all I'd like is—Hmm?" He cocked his head to the side. If he wasn't much mistaken, there was someone ahead of him, and they sounded confident.

"Hey, friends! Maybe friends? I'm on my way," he jogged up to where he'd heard the conversation from, and soon came within sight of a duo of players.

@Nyancy @Laylabelle

The two were both women, one a human, and the other a beastkin. "Hello, there," he waved at the two, smiling. "Mind if I tag along? I've been pretty lucky so far, but I'd rather not wander around here alone, you know."

-10 HP from exploration.

Supporter: Once per cycle, you spend 30 HP to restore others' HP by 20. This can be divided between 2 different tagged allies.

That was a weird dungeon she was in, with that weird cyan-haired mascot girl showing up out of nowhere and starting to babble about things that Ruby didn't really understand (and didn't really care for either). All she wanted was to keep exploring the depths of that dungeon and fighting some monsters while avoiding the crowd.

She could swear she saw one or two familiar faces, but still.

Dancing through every danger, Ruby's vest bells rang and echoed deep into the dungeon, with her ears twitching when she noticed one of the sound waves from her bells seemed to sneak through an opening.

Approaching on the possible secret entrance, Ruby tapped the wall around, hoping to press some brick that would be an opening for another path or maybe even a shortcut. But soon, she jumped surprised at the sound of a nearby combat. As she turned to look, she noticed a @Kamala Graham worriedly saying something.

"It will, right? But you don't need to go alone." Ruby said, approaching her and swaying her tail. "Want to go together?" She asked.

She was back...again.

In all honesty, she shouldn't have even logged in today. There were enough chores for her to get done on her one day off this week to block out the whole day, but instead of doing them, she was here, in TerraSphere. The death game.

It was idiotic. And Trissayne knew it was idiotic, but she couldn't help herself. The urge to put on her headset and sink into another world was...addictive. Granted, "addictive" wasn't a word she was comfortable even mumbling to herself because she was a grown woman, with a good job, chores, and responsibilities. She didn't become addicted to video games.

And then this little dungeon appeared (or she wandered into it, it's hard to say with all the overthinking that was going on) and the glittering gold room she passed through was enough to finally, finally, draw her attention elsewhere. She could hear voices in the distance, other players she assumed. It would probably be smart to catch up to them.

As if echoing her thoughts on the matter, the spectral crow on her shoulder caws out, the grating sound of its voice making her wince. "Alright alright, I be moving."

Treasure Hunter, post 1/5
Scouting: One negative event is negated this cycle

Bluebird peers into the entrance to the next part of the dungeon. The atmosphere here is different - it feels more ominous, more claustrophobic. She sticks close to the others, humming a little song as she goes...

There's a flash beneath her feet as a previously unknown symbol lights up under her feet. "Ah!" she exclaims, bracing herself for something negative, but instead there's a cool rush of energy, one that revitalizes her instead. She stands there, holding a hand on her chest as she calms herself down. "That was surprising..."

She bends down to the symbol - she doesn't understand it at all, but there's still a lingering sense of energy to it. "Come look," she says, gesturing to @Ru Ning and @Moonsong. "Perhaps this will aid you as well?"

He was most definitely in over his head. It didn't seem like a complete beginner should be anywhere near this deep into the cave, but nevertheless, Akiva sauntered forward with a confidence that many would envy.

Nothing like a little risk to spice up life.

His loud footfalls echoed through the narrow tunnels. Occasionally, he stopped to inspect the magic that pulsed through the walls, touching a line without hesitation and grimacing at the sticky feeling against the pads of his fingers. Nothing stopped him from foolishly reaching for books and rapping old pipes with his knuckles.

In the distance, he noticed a flash of blue hair. He squints. Wasn't that what's-her-name? The thingy with the game?

"Hey, wait up!" he shouted as began to run towards her, arms waving frantically in the air to catch her attention. There were no thoughts in his head of monsters or traps; just a single-minded determination to catch up.

But it wasn't blue, but white hair that he ended up crashing into. Instinctively, he reached out to steady her.

"You okay?" Akiva asked the dark-skinned lady. His lips split into a wide grin as they dart past her face to the misty bird on her shoulder. "I like your crow, by the way."

They have arrived at the next part of the dungeon safely, thanks to her reliable comrades. She looked at the entrance, which emits a completely different dangerous aura to it. The group continues carefully as they delve deeper into the new area.

With @Ru Ning's surveying expertise, they have progressed quite a distance down without encountering anything dangerous, unlike what happened to most adventurers in the previous part. It seems that his senses are highly enhanced and this kind of task is trivial to him. She gives him a thumbs up for his good work.

@Bluebird suddenly motioned them to come, showing them a weakening, glowing symbol. It seems that this thing had transferred some kind of energy to her, but Moonsong cannot feel anything from it. Perhaps it was incompatible? "Sorry, I can't feel anything from it," She replied.

The next part of the corridor was uneventful. Not that it was a bad thing, but some monsters or two could help them to find out the right path to whatever is hidden here. Enemy means it's the correct path, right?

Nyancy turned to @Cyrus Sylvester a little bit startled but otherwise happy he wasn't another goblin or some type of cave beast.

Ya suprised me a bit thea pal. Suah, if ya want tah come along ain't no sweat off my back as long as it's fine with Lay. The name's Nyancy by the way. Me and Lay came hea serachin' for a bit ah adventuah ah whateva. I'm taking the lead so fah as I'm a bit toughah.

Feeling at east with this person, Nyancy began to walk forward again. Suddenly, something a growl came from above the trio. Hearing the creature roar, Nyancy hopped backwards narrowly missing getting claws in the face. Jumping up, Nyancy delivered a crushing downward thrust flattening the beast.

One shot one kill. Ya know, so fah these monstahs ain't so bayd.

Taking a curving pathway, Nyancy the trio was led into a gold-hued chamber.

Well, would ya look at that? Pretty ain't it? Like tha whole room were made outta puah gold.

Nyancy turned back to the pair's new companion.

So what's ya story? You came in hea all on ya lonesome? Pretty brave of ya. What kinda skills ya got? Just askin' so we all know what wea wahkin' with. Me I'm a fightah type as ya saw befoah, so I've been tacklin' most of tha bad guys.

Nynacy pointed to @Laylabelle

I'll let Lay explain herself as well, no need tah put word in er mouth ah nuthin'.

@Nyancy @Cyrus Sylvester

"Luck's good but even I know not to push it, oyo~ of course ~ good, bad, or any luck inbetween~ you're welcome to join us just so long as you don't mind our bit off kilter company. I don't think it's a good idea to tackle these things solo. But what do I know? ANY~WHO~ Yup, I'm Laylabelle, like my good friend Nyancy said. Nice to meet'cha! Now, I won't ask you to share, but you've GOTTA teach me that treasure trick later, so far all's we've dug up on our little excursion is a bit of a healthy sweat and a whole lotta dusty bones. The whole pyrrhic victory sorta thing."

Laylabelle shrugged.

"We're new ourselves but the way we figure, if we can drag battles into one on ones we can take turns conserving energy while the other person watches for ambushes. If things look bad, watcher calls the bail and we're outta here no question asked. Does that work for you? If we split the load three ways, I think it'll go even smoother. Ah contact~ You got it nyancy~? Okay I'm watching the other way~!"

Nyancy returned rather quickly. Just in time for Laylabelle to spot another monster.

"Contact spotted! Alright Nyancy, Cyrus, this one's mine. Ugh... it looks gross."

Laylabelle sighed.

"Makeshift! Materia! Magica!"

Conjuring a rune of dark magic, Laylabelle quickly studied her target.

"Alright you two behind me and cover your ears."

The runes pulsed and began to spin like a pair of dark records, or something, and what was released was deep vhooming sound which struck and pinned the ooze in place until it was defeated. Laylabelle had transmuted her Dark Magic into a sound-based attack judging it to be the most effective in her small but varied repertoire of spells.

"Yep, didn't like that one bit, let's get out of here before we find a nest of them or something."

-10 HP for posting, falling into numerous traps

Time passed since the last encounter. The three had become four just after THE GUY had noticed @Darko Ljubicic .

"OH! Thanks for the assist, new brother. We'll be right behind you, aviador. You can count on THE GUY to be right on your heels!"

That damned phrase was the beginning of the man's adventure with THE GUY and his entourage of BEEF MAN and SMART GIRL. They had other names, of course, and sometimes THE GUY would even call them by those proper names. The three were always a step behind the scout, just as he expected them to be.

Not that this was a good thing. Actually, the way they'd kept catching up to Darko caused the already impressive scout to pick up his pace almost twice now. He could look back and see those three somewhere almost every time, especially that dreaded face of THE GUY.

How was he falling to such misfortune?

Every hallway, some sort of trap seemed to befall the man. Had Darko pointed out said trap to the three? Even still, THE GUY seemed to manage to find a way to fall into it anyway. Hell, he was somehow falling into traps that nobody had seen beforehand.
That was the issue here-he was falling into just about every trap that could possibly exist. THE GUY, and nobody else was falling to these traps. That's not to mention how the party of three was able to continuously keep up with Darko despite all of these delays, as well as one other little tidbit.

THE GUY was hardly suffering any damage at all, no matter how many traps he was falling into. It's as if he were going into these traps fully prepared so that none of the other party would have to accidentally deal with them. Was he doing this on purpose?

Gun in the holster, thumb on the hammer, fingers kissing the grip. Such is the art of preparing your rites for quick-drawmancy, right?

It's been a while since she's watched the Tombstone Cinematic Universe. She really should've gotten back into it to practice her yees and haws after respeccing into Wynona Earp.

Madison did what she did best, both now and four years ago; she stuck to the shadows. Skulking through the freshly-unearthed portion of what was allegedly a beginner dungeon (shoutout to the absolute hell she had in the starter cave right after spawning for the first time!), she kept an look out for anything that might be lurking around the corners and in the nooks and crannies of the stonework.

The cloud was quick; but her eye was quicker. Shame her body wasn't, though.

An oily black claw tore at her shoulder. A single clap of thunder echoed down the tunnel as she whipped around and, in a smooth motion, drew her revolver and put a fresh hole in the approximate spot where you would think a cloud's brain would be.

Continuing into the dungeon, Pete found himself suddenly attacked by a Support Prototype. Pete was confused as to what the creature was, whether it was friendly or not, and what it was supposed to be. All that confusion, however, soon turned into fear and self-preservation when the same creature tried to attack him. Pete tried to defend himself using the Rings of Saturnine but neither of the two lesser goddesses contained within, not the Nature Ring of Buer or the Tempest Ring of Baal, heeded his call. In the end, Pete found himself smashed by the creature before it scurried the hell out of there.

"What the bloody hell was that, bruv?!" Pete complained, voicing his annoyance at no one and nothing in particular. Then he turned to the Rings and scowled. He was going to complain some more, maybe even scream at the lazy deities that didn't even bother to help him, before realizing they were deities still and could just slap him around if he said the wrong things. Pete might be a warlock in this game in his head, but neither of his patrons was fond of his antics, and they both could hear everything from outside the rings. Bloody puppeteers!

Dusting himself off, his arm a little sore, Pete channeled all that negativity into dragging himself further before coming across a familiar face. "Oy, @Kamala Graham? You're a long way away from your farm at Pormont, aren't you? Still healing people for free?"

A thumbs up was given towards his fiery companion (@Moonsong ) in reciprocation. Their attention was quickly snatched by another however as she let out an exclamation of shock. Judging from the looks of it though, only good things had come as a result of it.

"Ooo, good find!" Ru wandered over towards @Bluebird as he'd peer curiously at the symbol on the ground. The rune remained inert though, not reacting to the lepus despite passing over it twice. "Hmm, perhaps it's out of power? No worries."

Unfortunately Moonsong's wish for monsters had almost come true. The rune still occupying his mind, Ru was a bit distracted and meandered closer and towards a trapped pressure plate. Unaware of the danger, a distant voice called out to him, grabbing his attention and averting disaster. "Phew, nice save! Thaaaaanks!" ( @Tristaria )

As the blue-haired figure disappears into the dungeon, Caligo steels himself. He knows that he's spent this whole dungeon reacting to things as they happen, but he won't find anything good like that. Hoping that his companion @Tristaria is behind him, he steps forward into the new layer and through the broken doors.

He keeps his head on a swivel, eyes and ears out for anything that looks dangerous or useful. He finds his first hint as a faint blue glow behind a steel door. Heaving with all his might, he shoves the (not especially heavy) door out of the way to reveal a chamber, softly glowing blue.

Well, glowing room. This definitely couldn't be anything bad, he thinks to himself, and steps inside.

Please don't be a trap, please don't be a trap... and he breathes a sigh of relief as he feels a soothing energy take away the aches and pains he'd accumulated in this dungeon trip so far.

"Hey, maybe this dungeon isn't so bad after all! Oh and there's treasure here too!!" He exclaims, seeing a glimmer inside an alcove in the wall.

And as he reaches in to grab his find, that's when he found the trap. Or, more accurately, the trap found him. Rather violently.

"Nevermind. I hate this place."

As Darko then moved to the front of the adventuring party, it felt like something that he would cringe later if he remembered, but better the cringe than that nagging monster known as his conscience. It felt like, after that meeting, the sense of dread had fallen upon him, something that his previous persona might not have thought of. Hopefully, this kind of dread will subside so that he would keep his composure again.

Seeing a bend in the path, Darko then walked to there to see if it was safe for the party to go to. But he had not made any significant progress there, that he had noticed something odd: his vision had turned green for some reason. Thinking that it was his far sight had warned of this, he tried to pull back, but the green smoke had seemed to waft towards him, his lungs taking too much of it. He was still coughing as he moved back to the path where the three was passing through.

"The bend is dangerous. Best not to go there until it is clearly needed." Darko then turned his back again and walked briskly, suppressing his coughing fits as much as possible. He did not want more cringe anymore.

Tristaria followed the strange tutorial cat deeper into the dungeon, surrounded by a number of others. The group quickly split to explore the deeper area, which was. Having only previously encountered a wolf, which was no threat to her at all, this dungeon didn't scare her much anymore. Still, better be too cautious than not enough, she figured.

Tris tagged along behind her new companion and another small group (@Moonsong, @Bluebird & @Ru Ning), quietly following along. That was, until she heard some creepy hissing coming from one of the walls... almost like a hundred whispers overlapping. Following the noise, she noticed one of the tiles up ahead was slightly misaligned.

"Stop!" she shouted, grabbing @Ru Ning's hand for good measure. Just in time.

"Sure, no problem." Tris shrugged in response to the thanks, moving on.

Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed @Caligo run off into another room. She followed along.

While Cal focused on the strange wall, Tris investigated the rest of the room. It seemed to be a large puzzle room, filled with a spaghetti-like mass of blue energy conduits and twisting pillars. A door at the other end made it clear they'd need to find some way to connect the power near the entrance to a statue near the door by following the mess of conduits to twist the pillars correctly.

Tris stepped up to the statue, raised her hand, and like a considerably less enthusiastic form of Zeus himself, slammed a blue lightning bolt right in its face.

The door opened.

"Easy puzzle."

She moved on.

@Darko Ljubicic the scout, @Brutus Dahlgren the mountain, @The Guy the living trap-finder, and @Corsair the obligatory smart one, had all come together to form a cohesive team. THE GUY kindly took the hit on another surprise trap, and Darko warned them away from a noxious cloud, leaving Corsair free to point out the healing room. "It has a calming, blue aura," she said, stepping into the room. She could sense the magitech whirring within the walls, exuding the same gentle glow that her constructs did.

She took the time to make some notes on the strange, uneven construction of the walls. "Does the shaping help amplify the healing?" she asked out loud, touching one of the blocky extrusions on the wall. It receded, just as another rectangular piece pushed out somewhere else in the chamber. "What a delightful puzzle!"

There may be time to explore it later, but for now they had to push onwards.

-10 HP for posting, falling into more traps

The three continued onwards through the hallways, each following just after @Darko Ljubicic like a twisted hunting party. As they followed him around, he coughed more and more, growing paler with time in a way that few noticed. It was similar to how an old human hunting party would walk their prey to death over hours... minus the part where they were actually trying to kill the poor scout. THE GUY only felt pity.

He also felt bored. Falling into traps was only entertaining to watch for so long, and eventually something had to change. The crook of the man's helmet tilts towards the other two in the actively matched party as he asks, "I can't believe we'd meet up like this so quickly again. I'm not a man who thinks about fate often, but it's enough to get me curious now. Have you all been playing this game for long?"

Yes, small talk would do.

Corsair had been so caught up in the construction and magitech scraps in the dungeon that she had forgotten about conversation. @The Guy jolted her out of her mental note taking with some casual chit-chat.

"A week or so," she said, looking over at the man. "Brutus and I have been making a name for ourselves around Honeyhome. And you?"

Ahead, the Scout kept coughing, and she frowned. It won't do to have one of our number die. She pulled out Sam. She tapped the top of the construct several times, activating basic settings that she had build into its skin. Then she moved ahead briefly, placing the magitech down near @Darko Ljubicic. Hopefully the presence of the healing, magitech frog would keep their Scout in good spirits.

Post 3 of Cycle 2
Beneficiary of scouting

Role: Scout

His nerves a bit shaken from the thankfully mitigated disaster, Ru took a deep breath, exhaling slowly through both nostrils. Deciding that he needed a bit of a break, the gaunt looking bunny opted to trail behind another group to play it safe. Only after a few minutes had passed would he thank them for their care before moving on.

After calming himself, the lepus nodded his head once in affirmation to adventure forth and pave the way for his colleagues. It was hard to tell whether he was in the proper mental state however. Nothing terrible had happened, either indicating the man had missed a bunch of dangers as an oversight, or his luck had taken a turn for the better. Only time would tell once others began to follow the markers he'd left behind.
