The small stop on the ground proved to be beneficial, giving Lúthien some much needed time to properly sling the backpack onto herself, before Ronja was quickly helping the elf get back onto her feet. Thankfully, at least from what she could see, it seemed their fallen magia friend was also still in one piece despite their daring traveling method.

Arms hooked under the magia’s knees before the ranger hoisted her up into a better position, the large shape of the construct hard to miss as the creature began a rather rapid descent over the side of the building… honestly, it was a miracle that it managed to remain standing after what the Overseer was putting it through.

The firm grip on her shoulder caused the ranger to look right into the eyes of Ronja, the words that flowed out of friend’s mouth causing Lúthien to bite her lower lip and chew on her inner cheek. She hated everything about this, but the reality was that they didn’t have another option—and they’d come too far to quit now.

"You better catch up, Ronja." Her tone was dead serious. "Don’t make me kick Urukhan’s gate wide open and drag you outta the underworld."

Despite the tension of the moment Lúthien allowed herself a small smile towards her friend, before the ground underneath their feet tremorred as their foe renewed their chase. She afforded herself only a moment to see the magia’s bodysuit change modes, before the war lings that Ronja had tirelessly worked on started to emerge. "I’ll see you soon!"

With that she began to rush towards the woods first, her breaths short and ragged as the elf tested her own limits with the extra weight she carried….

RACE TO THE FINISH—SUCCESS!!!

Hahah, that Overseer was never a true match for you two... right?!

Lúthien & Ronja:
Overseer: ◻

Congratulations, you did it!

ADECUS FOREST

"W-We… We made it…!" Exhaustion finally settled in and forced her to a stop, Lúthien barely having enough time to lower down the fallen magia onto the ground slowly before she dropped down onto the grass herself. The backpack with all the cores rested in the magia’s lap now, all of the orbs within safely secure and accounted for. "I thought that ass… asshole would never give up…!"

She spoke amidst ragged breaths, her chest heaving up and down in rapid succession as the burn that clung to her muscles slowly wilted away. It took a few moments before Lúthien finally had her breath mostly under control, her head tilting to look at the brunette with a lopsided smile. "Those war lings were amazing, Ronja."

The creativity and resourcefulness of her friend never ceased to amaze Lúthien, the world within TerraSphere truly allowed Ronja to shine in so many ways that their reality denied the girl… she could only hope they were able to crack all the secret dangers that lurked underneath its surface before it was too late.

"Can’t wait to see Valen’s face when we show up with these," A hand extended to pat the leather backpack softly, bringing the attention to the large volumes of cores within it, before her gaze shifted towards the fallen magia next. "... what about her, though?"

Part of her wasn’t sure if bringing the fallen magia to the MIT headquarters would be a smart idea, while she trusted Ronja and—to a certain point—Sven the same couldn’t be said for pretty much all of the remaining members of the faction.

Thankfully, it seemed that the barrage of War Lings and the chain reaction of explosions as soon as the Overseer approached the trap was more than enough to fend the magitech beast off.

As expected, even in the worst of the conditions, the Overseer continued to try to chase them, even as it was nearly crumbling... But Ronja knew it was only a matter of time until it finally stopped moving, so she focused on fleeing from the scene and eventually catching up with @Luthien, where they would finally reach the nearest forest they could... Escaping from the sight of the hostile magias...

Finally coming to a halt, Ronja could feel her senses faltering momentarily, with her energy clearly dropping after so much intense running and escaping. Soon, as she neared her friend, Ronja allowed herself to similarly just fall on the grass, feeling the softness cushioning her 'fall', breathing heavily before rolling to her side so she would face the elf and the other magia.

"Thank you... But you were even more amazing... Ronja wouldn't be able to carry a magia, and all her cores at once. Really... Thanks for taking her with you, and for trusting Ronja."
Her smile widened, and for a moment, she decided to just rest her head against the grass again, letting all the adrenaline fade, just in time for her to listen to a question that honestly...

"Ronja was asking herself exactly that." She admitted, taking another breath before continuing. "Ronja could try to recharge her... But Ronja herself is lacking some energy... And as much as we did everything we could to save her. She would rather recharge her while we are with full strength to fight back... Just in case."

She wouldn't just be reckless and let a magia be awakened without her being sure it wouldn't just attack them on sight.

It felt nice to just lie in the grass for a moment, enjoying the sounds of chirping birds in the distance and the faint breeze that blowed past them… it was these type of moments, full of such realistic rawness that made anyone forget this was just the product of a bunch of ones and zeros, that made it hard to quit TerraSphere despite the known dangers that lurked within it.

"Gosh no, if it wasn’t for astramancy I wouldn’t have been able to carry even half of that." It had taken most of her concentration to keep the spell active and going despite all the dangers and close moments they had with the Overseer. "This would’ve been a walk in the park for someone like Fiora…"

She felt a pang in her chest as the familiar name left her lips, silence seeping in for just a moment before the elf pushed that feeling into the depths and turned to focus on Ronja instead. "You know I’d trust you to hell and back… besides, I didn’t wanna leave her behind either." A large part of it was curiosity as to who this other magia was, especially after seeing all the signs of how desperately the woman had held onto the cores to keep them safe.

"Agreed, there’s no telling what could happen once she wakes up." At best perhaps the woman thought of them as enemies at first until the mix-up was cleared out, but in the worst-case scenario… well, they’d both seen the number that magia managed to deal against the Overseer.

"Hmm, I think I know where we are…" Perhaps it wasn’t surprising that her steps had taken her in this direction, it was the only place aside from Camp Hope that her subconscious knew almost by heart after visiting it so much. "Yeah, Sven’s old secret lab is close by. Door no longer works buuut we could rest up there first…?"

Probably better than being out here in the wilderness, and there was no telling how people at camp would react if the girls waltzed in with an unknown and unconscious magia on their backs… besides, it’s not like the old lab had anything happening inside it now—not after being blown up.

"Watcha think, Ronja?"

"True." Ronja chuckled faintly. She wished Fiora was there, it would've sure helped. Yugam too, would be quite helpful, but the former wasn't in the best terms with the blondie, and the latter- Actually, she had no idea why he wasn't there.

The confirmarion of trust was responded silently, with a small smile from Ronja, along with a hand squeeze that was more of a caring gesture than a handshake, before she sat down and glanced at the strange magia.

"Yeah. And... Ronja isn't really sure about restraining her and waking her up only for the sake of safety. She wouldn't want her to think we have ill intentions." Ronja had no idea how understanding the magia would be, if she was awaken with something keeping her locked down until she proved to be 'docile'..

At the suggestion of a lab, Ronja pondered about it. @Luthien did seem to trust this guy a lot, so her only concern was if it was fine for them to just slip into a secret lab without consent...

... Granted, Ronja knew she wouldn't steal anything from it. Nor Luthien would.

"Ronja thinks it is for the best, in this case. A covered safe place, away from others. If something bad happens, we are the only ones to suffer the consequences." Ronja nodded, even if she didn't sound that enthusiastic about it.

Paperwork. If Ronja had ever verbalized her question she would’ve found the reason the hunter had been unable to accompany them was the massive amount of paperwork that Beleg kept throwing in Yugam’s direction. There was still a lot left to fix and rebuild after Szofrit’s attack, and only a handful of Black Whistles available to manage overseeing said repairs.

"Yeah, kinda hard to wake up and trust strangers if they’ve tied you up beforehand." The hand squeeze was returned in kind by the elf before she shifted, taking a moment to brush off the grass blades that clung to her clothing after she stood. "She’ll probably be wary of us as is, no need to add gas into that fire."

It seemed her suggested place had sat well with Ronja as the brunette finally agreed, the ranger taking a few moments to stretch weary muscles before walking closer to the fallen magia. "We better get moving then, I’ll lead the way." A soft grunt escaped as Lúthien carefully hauled their unexpected guest onto her back once more, before nodding in the direction of the backpack filled with cores for Ronja to take.

"Oh, a bit of warning… the place was kind of a mess last time I was there, and there’s a good chance it still is." She couldn’t imagine Sven had time to bother with it after everything that had happened, but it should still be able to offer the protection they sought despite whatever state it might currently be in. "Ready to go?"

"Sure is." Ronja nodded at Luthien's elaboration, watching the elf's initiative, and listening to her warnings that brought a small smile to Ronja's lips.

"Ronja doesn't really mind if it is a mess or not, as long as we can use it just fine." She reassured. It wasn't like that place could be any worse compared to the ruins they had ventured into.

Seeing the elf getting ready for their next travel, the magia finally got back to her feet "Ronja is ready, yes. She does hope there is a place there to rest too..." She sighed, checking up her Energy meter before following @Luthien to the supposed secret lab her friend had.

As she travelled to their next spot, Ronja remained wary of any threat that could be around them, having her skullbuster on her arms just to make sure she could cover Luthien and the magia if needed.

It took a bit of walking and some backtracking on her part but eventually the elf managed to lead them to the right track. Despite being a whistle her own sense of direction was questionable at best, but thankfully nothing decided to jump the pair as they traversed the woods—the skullbuster that Ronja visibly carried probably being enough of a deterrent for anything that might’ve lurked in the shadows.

"Let’s see, it should be somewhere around here—ah, there it is!" Her head nodded in the direction of a metal object that laid on the ground, covered in large part by the grass that had grown around it. "That’s the door, so the entrance should be right over… there!"

Lúthien walked past it like it was the most natural thing in the world and, if Ronja took a moment to stop and properly look, she would’ve noticed the charred and indented parts on the thick metal plate that could only be produced by a strong impact… or an explosion. Sure enough she found the hidden entrance not too far from where the busted latch laid, waving towards the tinkerer before Lúthien began to descend the stairs first.

Thankfully it seemed that no rain had fallen in the area as of late, though the dried up mud that now covered the floor of the tiny “lab” was easy indication that it’d seen a few floods by now. The walls remained as blackened as the day Chad and herself had narrowly avoided a slow and untimely death within this space through a creative—and rather risky—detonation, though the scent of smoke and burning flesh had been replaced by the smell of fresh dirt.

"It’s not much, a glorified underground closet really." She carefully laid down the fallen magia by a corner of the room, not too far from the charred remains of the wooden table that had once existed here. "We should be able to rest up safely here for a while."

Ronja followed @Luthien all the way to the entrance of the supposed secret lab. Her eyes shifted around, trying to spot any obvious hostility and making sure no one was following them to... Well, what was supposed to be a secret place. Only Luthien's friend knew what sort of thing was being kept there, and Ronja certainly didn't want it to get on wrong hands just because they had left a trail for someone ill intentioned.

The entrance was rather 'open', which prompted some commentary of the magia. "Ronja expected some gates with complex puzzle locks or passwords."

The more they got in there, however, it really looked like exactly what Luthien said: A glorified underground closet. The way it sounded brought out a chuckle from Ronja, and she looked around with a feigning judgement. "Ronja isn't that fond to the interior. It is a bit small too." She nodded, looking at the magia being placed away, and approaching her.

"Let's rest for a moment... But Ronja will start working on her already, if that is okay. Not a full recharge or anything, just something small." She reassured, looking at the elf and then back at the other magia, with her eyes clicking and her pupils expanding like camera lens as she analyzed her.

"Yeah, it used to need a password before—" She can’t help the chuckle that escaped as the memory of how she got it from Sven resurfaced. Honestly, the scientist was a terrible secret keeper. "—buuut a rather impromptu, aah, ‘remodeling’ made it obsolete?"

A single hand provided the necessary air quotes while the other had kept the magia in place on her back, before it swept to bring Ronja’s attention to the now very busted numberpad beside the entrance. "Not sure what Sven pretended to do here, though he was quite attached to his dear ‘labby’... maybe it’s more of an emotional support place for him?" Something about MIT members being quite the eccentric people, or at least most of the ones Lúthien had met.

She’d finally been relieved from carrying their fallen… companion? Whatever, the point was that her hands were finally free. A rather solid piece of wood from the table that had seen better days was dragged against one of the walls, the charred surface serving as a buffer to keep their rumps from coming in direct contact with the dried up mud that covered the floor. "She’s all yours~ I trust you to know what you’re doing, Ronja."

Between the two of them Ronja was definitely the one better equipped for this sort of thing… though the elf had made sure to place the fallen magia in a strategic part of the room for a reason. If shit were to hit the ceiling here Lúthien wouldn’t hesitate to pull her friend out of this place, and she’d made sure to keep their path to the outside obstacle free.

"We all have our 'safe place', don't we?" Ronja tried to defend the man, even if she didn't know him all that well. In a way, she could understand what his feelings, but she hoped he didn't lose a lot of his health staying in such a claustrophobic place. "Regardless, Ronja won't be here to trash talk someone else's lab." She chuckled a bit, finally returning her attention to the fallen magia again.

"Now... What to do with you..." Ronja looked at the magia, leaning in to look at her closer, eyes flickering and clicking as she analyzed her, and... Honestly, it was going to be a blind shot. That could go wrong, but Ronja was going to give little enough to not go too wrong, if it did.

Reaching a hand to the magia's chin, Ronja tilted her head to the side, exposing the magia's neck and pressing a her fingers on it. A small opening suddenly revealed, with a gap that happened similarly to Ronja's neck, except some sort of biomagitechnological wire escaped from it... One that almost looked like an artery... Soon, the 'wire' connected to the other girl's neck, and glowy dots began running through the wire, going from Ronja's neck to the magia's.

It was almost like a hose, as if a glowy liquid was being transferred... But it was clear it wasn't quite that.

After a couple minutes, Ronja dettached the wire, wincing for a moment and rubbing her neck, closing the other magia's neck and gently resting a hand on her shoulder, tugging it softly.

"Hey... Hey. Wake up."

The magia's eyelids quivered, slowly half-opening, looking around and watching @Luthien, and then eventually locking on Ronja's eyes obviously unaware of what was happening yet.

"True, who are we to pass judgment on Sven’s lab." A soft chuckle escaped the elf as the leaned against the frame of the door, her arms loosely crossed over her chest as she watched Ronja move closer to the fallen magia. "No lab shaming allowed~"

She knew little about magia overall, her own interactions with their kind mostly related to Ronja, though over time Lúthien had begun to pick up a thing or two here and there. Some features of their race reminded her of Cyberpunk 2077, the comparison made fresh again as she watched Ronja pull out a wire from her neck and connect with a port on the stranger.

"Kudos to the programmers, they really went all out with this game." No wonder it was so easy to forget that TerraSphere was just a game made up of ones and zeros, especially when even the most minute of details had been accounted for and programmed into the world. Glowing dots began to cross from Ronja to their fallen companion, the elf pushing herself away from the frame as careful steps brought her closer to the two magia.

"Data transfer or…?" Her other guess would be energy, maybe enough to wake up the magia, though it was hard to tell. A few moments passed before the eyelids of the magia began to quiver, genuine curiosity shining in Lúthien’s eyes as she watched the events unfold… though ready to grab a hold of Ronja and pull her to safety if things suddenly went south.

As the eyes fell upon her the blonde gave a sheepish smile to the magia, a hand waving softly as she spoke. "Mornin’, sleepy head."

"They really... Did..." Ronja's words escaped with a bit of effort, escaping between a heavy breath and another. It was as if she was talking while trying to sprint, which prompted her to remain quiet for a moment, at least until the whole process was done and she was unplugged from the other magia.

"Data transferring... Not really. It is more of like when you connect a phone to a computer, and it starts recharging." She explained while the girl still seemed unaware of her surroundings, still struggling to snap back to reality. Eventually, @Luthien's greeting were caught by her ears, and the magia vaguely turned her attention to the elf.

"Nnh"

She struggled again, and after her eyes blinked twice, seemingly readjusting and eventually lighting up, they opened widely, and she pressed her back against the wall, as if trying to escape.

"Enemies spotted- Initiate-"

The magia began blurting out, trying to raise her hand but faltering right away, nearly falling to her side, but Ronja took a hold of her shoulder before she did.

"Wait, we aren't-"
Her words were similarly cut short, with the shaky hand of the other magia nearing Ronja's head with its palm open just like Ronja's hand guns, getting the two of them in a stalamate position, where the faltering magia had Ronja's head targetted.

"Calm... Down..." Ronja said, slightly breathless, worried about how it could escalate considering Luthien was there.

"Cores. Return them. They do not belong you."

There was a visible strain on Ronja as the minutes ticked by, a hand softly placed on the brunette’s back to offer some form of comfort while her friend did her magia stuff. "Hey, don’t push yourself too much okay? We’re supposed to be resting." A gentle reminder, she knew how easy it was for Ronja to disregard her own warnings when something captured the magia’s attention and focus.

She nodded inr response to Ronja’s explanation once the brunette unplugged herself from the fallen magia, a low hum of understanding leaving her lips before both of their attention focused on the unknown woman. She seemed disoriented at first, expected given the state she’d been found in… and neither of them knew for how long the magia had been waiting inside that ship before the pair accidentally stumbled into her and the cores.

"Aww fuck…!" Her eyes picked up on the subtle changes a second before the magia pressed herself against the wall, but Ronja had moved closer to try and support the magia as she faltered before Lúthien could pull her back and place some distance between them. "Whoa, whoa, whoaaa! Just chill for a moment, alright?!"

It only took a second before both magia were pointing barrels at the temples of the other, the blonde raising her hands in the hopes of showing neither of them meant any harm as she tried to—hopefully—diffuse the situation… the last thing she wanted was a conversation with Fiora as to why her girlfriend’s brain had been splattered all over Sven’s dear labby.

"The cores are fine, they’re on that leather bag to your right." Despite her best attempt a slight tinge of annoyance colored her words. "Just like we promised, remember?"

Ronja's eyes shifted to @Luthien as she tried to deescalate the situation, with the attention of the other magia only being caught when she mentioned where the cores were.

Keeping her breath on hold, Ronja looked at the girl, that had her sights locked on the elf.

"Warning: If this is a lie, you will only have another chance."

The voice was as firm as her energies could allow, but it was clear that her physique was faltering, and the hand that was aimed at Ronja trembled, not out of fear, but out of weakness.

"Remain. Still."

With her free hand, she tried to reach for the bag, and Ronja remaind as still as she could, casting a brief glance to her friend, and waiting for what would come next.

As the grip of the magia reached for the bag, the shape she could feel made her eyes widen, partially opening the bag, and as soon as she spotted the cores, the hand that kept Ronja at aim lowered, rapidly reaching for the bag to hold it with both of her hands.

"They..."

Her eyes flickered, and she embraced the bag of cores, almost seeming to completely forget about the other two in the room.

Ronja released a sigh, slowly standing once again. "See, the cores were just fine, just like Ronja's friend said." Her tone was similarly annoyed, and it slipped almost in a scolding way. But the sight of the magia being so happy about the cores eventually softened her heart. "They are very precious to you, aren't they? You didn't let them go so easily when Luthien and Ronja found you."

The magia slightly turned her face toward Ronja, with a gaze that clearly showed her surprise that she had completely forgot about the two girls in this small moment.

"They are."

"Don’t need a second chance," It’s not like she can’t understand where their mysterious friend is coming from, but that doesn’t mean she’s not irked by her words regardless of the circumstances. "Why lie after we risked our skins to get all of you outta there in the first place?"

She can see the way their limbs falter, whatever charge of energy that Ronja shared with the other clearly wasn’t enough for them to keep this act up for long, but she’s not about to risk any movement that might place Ronja in danger. Besides it doesn’t take long for the magia to realize they’re telling the truth, the attention of the woman now solely focused on the backpack and the multiple cores contained within instead of the two starcalled.

"Honestly, this day is one surprise after another." A relieved sigh escaped her lips as the brunette is finally out of imminent danger, and by the sound of Ronja’s voice it’s clear that the blonde wasn’t the only one slightly irked by the turn of events. Whatever, all that’s well ends well.

It’s hard to be upset for long after witnessing the tender way in which the magia holds the cores, it’s easy to see how precious they are for the woman. "Mind if we ask what happened back there…?" She slowly kneels down to be at eye level with their ‘friend’, a curious look in her eyes as she stares at the magia.

Ronja looked at @Luthien with an exasperated sigh. "Tell Ronja about it. Ronja knew that could go wrong, but it almost ended terribly." Good thing they didn't charge the girl up, otherwise, chances were that Ronja would either have a hole in her head, or another fight would've escalated horribly.

But the more 'humane' reaction of the magia upon the cores brought a softer expression to Ronja's face. "But... Maybe it wasn't so bad, after all." She crossed her arms.

It was only when the elf began tossing questions, that the magia noticed they weren't in the ship anymore. A confused expression was clear on her face, with her eyes darting around until Luthien approached, prompting the girl to hold onto the cores tighter, pressing herself against the wall again, but clearly weaker than just a few seconds ago.

She tilted momentarily, but she snapped back, using her remains of energy to get to a straight stance, while resting sitting against the wall.

"You risked yourselves?"

The magia looked at them. They were clearly worn out, and the cores weren't in a bag before.

"My apologies... Back there, as we were on the ship... We were returning from Finnweald. But..."

She rested a hand on her head.

"That... Woman. She needed us. A feeling that I have been missing for so long."

Her hand clenched against her chest.

"But, this feeling suddenly disappeared. And the other magias suddenly caused havoc among each other. I had no choice, I had to crash that ship down. And... I realized... I've made my family become..."

Her arms tightened around the bag.

Ronja's face turned from soft to concerned, and even guilty, as memories rushed back into her mind upon her own actions months ago.

The acknowledgement of their efforts was welcomed as the magia finally seemed to piece together what had transpired while she’d been unconscious, before the woman shared with them the last things they could remember of that moment. "Yeah, she did that to a lot of our friends…" Crimson eyes quietly shifted to look at Ronja then, concern mirrored in her features as she watched the change in facial expressions of her friend.

If anyone could understand what their stranger had gone through the most it was the brunette.

A hand reached over for Ronja's, giving it a soft and comforting squeeze to hopefully snap the tinkerer out of whatever thoughts were currently dancing within her head. "We’ll find a way to fix it." Despite the daunting task ahead her voice didn’t waver, the elf resolute and determined to see this through whatever it took. So many lives depended on it, friends and even family for some… Lúthien was determined to give it her all for this one goal, regardless of how long it took.

She owed Meri at least that much, if not more.

Ronja listened to the magia's words intently, remaining still and quiet for most of it. Her experience had hit very close at home. She was just like her, confused, and everything- Except she didn't have anyone to save her. Anyone until now.

@Luthien's hand caught Ronja's attention back, and she smiled faintly, relaxing at the reassuring and caring touch before returning it and looking at the stranger magia.

"Exactly. We are going to help you. Not only because it is the right thing to do, but also because we are trying to save those stuck in these cores as well." Ronja explained, looking at the bag on the magia's arms.

The magia looked at her bag, then up at the two girls with a mildly surprised expression... But after a tighter hold on the bags, she nodded.

"I don't know what to say... Thank you. I... Still don't understand what happened, but if I am here, you have brought me here, out of that... Ship."

She looked around once again, almost as if trying to confirm it.

"And now you are willing to save them... Thank you..."

Her grasp tightened even more, and she finally added, bowing her head.

"My name is Yisdia. I am sorry for causing you so much trouble."

Wounds always took time to heal, in the case of those that did heal at least, and Lúthien was keenly aware of this fact. Despite it she couldn’t help the smile that crossed her lips as Ronja squeezed her hand in return, sometimes just knowing someone else was there for you could aid immensely… and she’d be there for Ronja, no matter how long it took.

"Don’t thank us yet," Her hand released Ronja’s before the elf swiped some of the dirt off the floor, finally plopping her ass down with a heavy sigh as exhaustion rolled into her muscles and bones once more. "There’s still a lot to figure out before we even begin to figure out how to bring any of them back… but we’ll get there."

While their first meeting had been shaky at first it was impossible to not notice how deeply the magia cared for the cores they’d rescued. Lúthien found it hard to believe the woman could ever be considered an enemy without outside intervention, and she was glad they had chosen to risk their hides to save the cores and the woman that had protected them.

"Nice to meet ya Yisdia, I’m Lúthien."

"The thanks isn't just for the help... But for all the kindness. Despite everything that happened."

Ronja shook her head, agreeing with @Luthien. "It was the least we could do, but... Yes, don't thank us just yet. There is still a lot of things to settle... Besides. We need to figure out what to do with you..." Ronja took a deep breath, crossing her arms as she gave it a deep thought, casting a glance at the ranger and dropping her shoulders and arms.

"Maybe MIT is willing to take her in, but Ronja is mostly worried about what they may try to do with her... So for now, it is better to keep her somewhere else, safe and away from towns. At least until Ronja can get in contact with someone experienced." She suggested, casting a glance at the magia.

"What do you think?"

The magia remained quiet for a moment, mostly relaxed, but pensive about the whole situation, until she finally spoke up, setting her eyes on the two girls.

"... I don't really have anywhere else to go, so..."
