"It... Seems like it? Ronja isn't sure, but the way she was holding these cores… Sad..."
"Yeah…"

The same thought had crossed her mind upon taking a better look at the female frame and the cores scattered about, but perhaps it was the dark streaks that tainted her cheeks that hinted the most at that single emotion that both of their minds had arrived at.

"... Apparently she is collecting those, but why does she look so sad?"
"Do you think… could she have been trying to protect them from others… from Szofrit?"

A part of her wished to instinctively reach out and pull Ronja back when the brunette began walking closer to the magitech construct, concerned over her safety always being at the forefront of her mind, before she resisted the urge to do so. Tick… Tick… Tick… If anyone could figure more about this woman it was the magia at her side, that much Lúthien knew, so instead she chose to listen and keep watch over her friend as she tried to figure out what was the current status of the other.

"She ran outta juice…?" Her mind thinks back on the Overseer the pair had encountered below, wondering if perhaps it was the reason for the construct before them to have expended all of her energy without a viable source to recharge her afterwards… or maybe it was thanks to it that the ship was now powerless to snap this magia out of her drained state?

There’s a glance given to the room where they currently stand, knowing that there’s no way they’ll find a piece of power stone or another magical source to replenish her energy. Tick… Tick… Tick… A thought occurs to the elf then, but before she can give it voice the subtle sound of delicate components quietly shifting catches her attention again.

"What is that sound…?" Her gaze focuses on the still body once more, as if trying to confirm if she’s the source of it or something else they’ve missed so far. "... is that the emergency recharge thing?"

Luthien's theory made sense considering the position the magia was in. Ronja watched it, with conflicted feelings raising inside of her while her eyes clicked and she analyzed with a self-inbuilt Investigation Mode. "Ran out of juice and everything. Was her anything but a Magia, she would already be dead." She said, casting a glance at Luthien.

"There is no food in her for her to transform into energy. Mana here is scarce. Sun isn't touching her. Nothing, really." Ronja said, looking at the magia again.

"Ronja could recharge her. Well, either of us, we are both sources of magic. But Ronja can give a magic that is already processed for magias." Her body did generate those as she acquired more energy from the usual sources.

She crossed her arms, taking a couple taps of her arm and pursing her lips.

"Ronja is unsure if we should, though. We don't know who she is." Ronja glanced at Luthien, wondering what was the elf's mind on it.

She couldn’t help the frown on her face while listening to Ronja, or the way her brows furrowed as her mind sunk into deep thoughts. A part of her wondered if this magia had gambled on the sole fact that her body didn’t truly need sustenance to live, that she could cheat death in a way so long as another able to recharge her eventually stumbled into this chamber…

… but that was only if said someone was even willing to do it in the first place.

"Why go through all of this," So many things would need to go right for the woman to even have a sliver of a chance to escape the prison she was currently trapped in. "... was it really just to protect these cores?"

Questions upon questions that had no answer in sight, if only because the only being in the room that could shed some light into any of them was currently no different from a comatose person in their reality. "Ronja could recharge her. Well, either of us, we are both sources of magic.” She nodded softly as the tinkerer’s words aligned with the same thought that had crossed her mind moments ago, though it was obvious who would have the best chance of powering the magia without accidentally frying a circuit or two.

"Ronja is unsure if we should, though. We don't know who she is."

She couldn’t fault the brunette for being weary after everything she’d gone through and, truth be told, even the ranger was unsure about juicing up a magia they knew nothing about. "La pregunta de los sesenta y cuatro mil chavitos..." Her gaze shifted away from the immobile frame and the cores, focusing instead on anything else that might be in the room as the elf carefully walked around.

Perhaps there was a clue they had missed and there was something, anything really, within this space that could lessen the mystery surrounding this magia and her apparent charges…

"Ronja can't know..." She shook her head, taking a deep breath while her puzzled gaze set on Luthien's. "If anything, Ronja will at least pick up these cores." She said, crouching down to pick up the cores that had fallen from the magia's grasp first.

While she was meddling with the cores, Luthien could take a more careful search across the ship.

The first sight were the tip of the two tedrils of the Overseer, both of them coated with a black and viscuous liquid, not too far off from the same liquid that was scattered on the fallen magia and her surroundings.

It wouldn't be hard to see, as well, that the damage caused on the sentries were deep piercing through them, particularly from the gaps that were the weakspot for their carapace.

On top of that, a door could lead for another room, this one mostly destroyed by the impact, with the black liquid splattered everywhere and with magitech biocomponents oozing while dry on the walls, along with other magia frames that were now beyond salvation.

As Luthien finished her initial search, Ronja had finished cleaning the cores from the ground, side glancing at the elf. "Did you find anything, Lu?" She inquired, reaching for the cores on the fallen magia's hands, but as soon as she tried to pick one up.

"Huh?"

A soft tug could be felt, and the fingers of the fallen magia curled faintly around the cores, and her expressions lightly twitched.

"..?!" Ronja maintained a wary stance, leaning in. "Are you there?"

There was no immediate response.

The two tendrils from the Overseer catch her attention first, their surface coated with the same viscously black substance that is also smattered onto the walls, across the floor, all over the magia… everywhere, really. It doesn’t take long for her mind to notice the similarities between the appendages and the fatal holes that caused the demise of the sentries scattered across the place, the precision and ‘cleanliness’ of each strike evident despite the messy ooze clinging to everything.

"Did she…?" Crimson eyes turn to look at the back of the powered down construct questioningly, unwilling to breathe further life into her current inquiry, before her gaze turns away and towards another doorway in the room.

Its insides are as chaotic as the rest of this place, the black ooze splattered everywhere and magitech components scattered all over the ground… with some seemingly stuck to the walls thanks to that viscous substance. "... what the fuck is this?" At first she’d thought it was the blood of the magia seemingly protecting the cores in her grasp, but with each passing moment Lúthien is less sure about that initial assumption.

A gloved hand reaches out to touch some of the ooze that still hasn’t dried off entirely, rubbing it between her fingers before testing its stretchiness. In a way it almost reminds her of car oil, before the blonde makes a face as she attempts to wipe it off her gloves by scraping her fingers against a small section of the wall that hadn’t been stained until now.

"Did you find anything, Lu?" Ronja’s voice causes her to turn back, her steps carrying the ranger back towards the brunette before she gives a light shrug of her shoulders. ”More black goo and fucked up sentries… looks like they got done in by our Overseer friend resting down below."

Putting aside the impressive range those particular constructs seemed to possess, there's an unspoken question that hangs in the air… why would an Overseer attack what it should’ve considered its allies? Each attempt to understand what happened here only seems to lead to more questions without answers, before Ronja’s unexpected "Huh?" caused Lúthien’s gaze to move back towards the tinkerer before it could bore holes into the back of the unknown magia’s head.

"What’s up? Everything alright—?!" It doesn’t take long for the ranger to notice the change in her friend’s body posture, her own muscles instinctively tensing before Lúthien circles around to close the remaining distance separating the two girls.

"Are you there?"
"You don’t think… can she hear us?"

Ronja glanced behind her back, looking at Luthien questioning the nature of the liquid she had on her fingers, making Ronja frown her lips. "Ronja... Doesn't know. But it does look like the Overseer became rogue, maybe..? Or..." She turned to look at the magia, looking at the hands that held the cores so tightly, even if she was already deactivated.

"... Ronja isn't sure if she can hear us, but she is sure she is trying to protect the cores." She pursed her lips, approaching her hand once again, but this time it was to rest on the top of the hand of the fallen magia.

The fallen magia twitched again, and the grasp became even tighter, but Ronja gently caressed her hand and held it in a reassuring way. "We are here to help." She promised, uncertain if the other could hear us. "We won't hurt them. Good job trying to protect them, but we can take them from here." Ronja reinforced, but didn't try to reach for the cores yet, instead, she waited.

It took a moment, but eventually the grasp around the cores softened, and the hands leaned down, as if letting the cores go.

Ronja looked at the magia, carefully taking the cores and looking at Luthien.

"Do you think it is fine to put them in the inventory?"

She’d had a similar thought upon putting the pieces together, the only logical conclusion was that the Overseer wasn’t acting in the manner it’d been scripted to originally—otherwise there was no way it would’ve attacked the others machines… the real question was what, or perhaps who, had messed with its programming. Lúthien had a pretty good guess as to the culprit, though it wasn’t one the elf had felt compelled to voice out loud as she gazed at the protective magia and the cores she tightly held onto even after her battery had run out and the woman stopped functioning.

A liar is what she’d be if the blonde said the exchange hadn’t worried her, muscles tensed in preparation as she’d watched over Ronja a couple of feet away—ready to step in and protect her friend had anything funny happened. The magia had twitched again, and it took everything from the elf to prevent her hand from instinctively reaching for her throwing daggers.

Despite everything Ronja had recently been through, the brunette had approached the situation with gentle compassion. Ronja’s voice was soft and patient as the tinkerer reassured the powered down magia that they were here to help the cores she had sought to protect so fervently.

Ronja’s approach was soon rewarded when the arms finally loosened around the trio of cores she’d held onto, allowing the tinkerer to pull them out of her grasp one by one as a relieved sigh escaped Lúthien’s lips. "They’re really important to her, huh?" Carefully the elf leaned down to gather some of the cores lying upon the floor into her own arms, her mind wondering how they had all ended in this room and who was the magia that had sought to gather and protect them.

"Do you think it is fine to put them in the inventory?"

The question caused her to pause, brows furrowed as the ranger struggled to remember if anyone in MIT had ever cautioned them against such a thing. So much had happened, but aside from her own responsibilities with the League and the added tasks Lúthien had taken up in MIT the blonde could not remember a moment they’d ever been cautioned against such a move.

"I… I dunno." Logic dictated that it shouldn’t have been much of an issue, after all the spheres themselves were made of inorganic materials and souls didn’t need sustenance… right? Crimson eyes stared down at the ones she’d gathered before looking towards the cores Ronja held, each one softly glowing with energy… would it really be okay to store them away inside the game’s inventory UI?

"I do have a small backpack that I bought a while back," Impulse buy really, the leather had some nice decorations and colors to it that had drawn the elf towards it. "I’m not sure if we’d be able to fit them all inside… but maybe if we try hard enough?"

That wasn’t her only concern though, after all it’s not like the cores were weightless to begin with, as she wondered if such a method of transportation would be safe for the cores and—mostly—for themselves as they made their way back through the ruins.

"What do you think, Ronja?"

Ronja looked at @Luthien for a moment, tapping her feet a couple times as uncertain has built up, but eventually, she nodded. "It is alright. Let's carry it on the bags. It isn't like we have any other option..." She said, looking at the cores that were on her arms, carefully handing them to the elf. "Ronja would rather risk on something that at least we know that can work. She would hate if these cores disrupted or corrupted because of the inventory."

She needed to remind herself that this was a game, and that they didn't know what was the true nature of the cores nor the true nature of the inventories they had, so they couldn't know if they would conflict with each other.

Then, Ronja looked at the fallen magia, with lips pursed.

"Ronja's main concern is... How we will carry her?" She asked, but soon realized she hadn't even mentioned her intentions regarding the magia they had found, quickly turning to Luthien to try to explain. "R-Ronja means- She... She doesn't want to leave her here. It is clear she isn't dead, and..."

But before she could finish her words, a sudden rumble echoed, and the ship shook, trembling the balance of the two girls while the tendrils that had invaded the ship suddenly glew in a cold blue tone.

A nod was given as both girls reached a consensus before her fingers deftly moved through the air in front of the elf, causing a bag to apparate moments later from her inventory before Lúthien caught it in her arms. Despite her original worries they had somehow managed to fit all of the cores into it, though it was quite the snug fit, before the blonde took a few scarves out of her UI as well.

"Just wanna be sure none of them slip out by accident." She explained as the material was carefully wrapped around some of the last cores, their weight aiding in pinning the fabric in place to serve as a cover of sorts to keep them all in, before closed the leather flap over them and tightened the straps as much as elvenly possible.

"Pheeew," It had taken some time but the cores were finally ready for transport. A hand patted the top of the stuffed back before she grabbed onto one of the straps and lifted to check the weight. "They feel light in our hands, but get enough of them and it’s quite the workout huh?"

That just left one thing…

Crimson eyes gazed back at the fallen magia once their primary objective was done, only realizing how in-tune she and the tinkerer seemed to be when Ronja voiced the questions Lúthien herself had been pondering internally. "I know… it doesn’t feel right to leave her behind." Despite everything that had happened Ronja continued to be, well, Ronja—a realization that lifted an invisible weight from the blonde’s shoulders that she’d never noticed until now.

"There has to be a way," The cogs slowly shifted within her mind as Lúthien pondered the situation over. "I could piggyback her while you take the cores—?!"

Her speech was cut abruptly by the unexpected tremors that shook the ship, a quiet curse leaving her lips as the ranger turned to look back the way they had come. "See if we can detach her from… all of this safely," A hand waved in the general direction of all the cables and pipes that were keeping the falling magia suspended here.

"I’ll go check what that was."

Ronja appreciated immensely that Luthien felt the same regarding the magia's situation, but the rumbling that had interrupted them was of a great concern, especially when the tendrils were clearly glowing now. That felt like everything, everything but good news. "They are a little heavy, but we will have to make it do... Same goes for this magia." Her eyes locked on the magia again, with the 'tear marks' on the magia's cheek making Ronja feel a sting of worry.

"Ronja will free her as fast as she can, but you... Just be careful, okay? Ronja will let you piggyback her and she will carry the cores." Ronja warned Luthien, worried about her friend while she started working on taking out the cables and all the restraints on the magia girl.

Meanwhile, Luthien could have an analysis of the glowing tendrils. The light in between each 'vertebra' of the tendrils glew, yet faltered once in a while, as if the Overseer was attempting to wake up, but for some reason it wasn't managing to do it.

A tendril moved slightly, and the ship shook accordingly, even getting on Ronja's way of trying to dettach the magia. "H-How it is looking, Lu?" She asked, with concern clearly echoing in her voice.

Another rumble occurred, and the tendrils began moving further into the ship, and due to the movements, one of the building's structure snapped, and an incredibly loud rumbling began to occur, while the ship seemed to tilt slightly, enough to make Ronja slip and hold tightly onto the magia, that still had one cable to dettach.

Ronja swallowed, and she looked at @Luthien. "We need to hurry up to get out of here!" She pleaded for help, worried about the magia.

A dreadful feeling settled in the pit of her stomach with each pulse of light that ran through the tendrils, causing their sections to twitch and shift as the Overseer down seemingly began to come back online. Fuck, why now…?! Time was ticking quickly now, they needed to get out of here as quickly as possible before—

She’d been on her way back to Ronja when the ship trembled once more, the sudden movement enough to stumble the elf towards some of the metal shelves. The impact was braced by one of her arms, a painful hiss leaving her lips before the ranger ignored the throbbing ache—a bruise or two would be nothing compared to the destruction one of those fucking robots could cause them.

"H-How it is looking, Lu?"
"Not good, we better hightail it outta here fast"

Despiteher racing heart the blonde managed to keep her voice calm and steady, urgency coloring the edges of her words as she closed the remaining distance between her and the two magia. She took her spot in front of the fallen magia, ignoring the blackened tears that stained her face as the blonde shifted the now freed arms over her own shoulders.

"On three, alright? One… Two…" Her arms wrapped around the magia’s legs, hooking underneath the bent knees as Lúthien prepared herself for the full weight of the magia once Ronja released the last cable remaining. "Three!"

A soft grunt escaped before the elf hoisted the magia higher on her back, enough so her hands could now link together underneath her and help support the extra weight. "I’m counting on you to guide us outta here, Ronja." She’d be hard pressed to pay attention to their surroundings now, especially with one of her ears covered by the limp head of the magia that she now carried.

"Let’s go!"

Oh no, the Overseer is coming for you!

The race will be decided via contested Mastery Check rolls between Ronja and the Overseer. In addition you may add +5 to your roll for each movement that the character has.

One Bonus Action and one Free Action are allowed for Ronja per post, but there's simply not enough time to perform a Main Action. Lúthien's currently too busy hauling ass carrying the fallen magia, so she won't be able to assist Ronja.

The Overseer will have A rank mastery and x4 fixed movement, for a total of +40 to their Mastery Check rolls.

If Ronja is able to win three rolls against the Overseer then the girls make it out of the ship & building before the construct is able to catch up with them, but if the Overseer wins three first... well, you guys prooobably don't want that to happen.

On a Nat 100 you may choose to either have advantage on your next roll or give disadvantage to your opponent's next roll. Meanwhile a Nat 1 will give advantage to your opponent's next roll.

When the magia was freed, Ronja felt a vague relief in the middle of that anxiety inducing situation. The only thing she had certainty was that she wasn't going to leave that place without the fallen magia, so now she only need to take care at the fact she now needed to leave that place.

"Ronja will try what she can!" She exclaimed, seeing the tendrils of the Overseer moving and clenching her fist.

The only exit was from the opening the tendrils were coming from, so how the hell they were supposed to leave that place..?!

"... L-Lu! Go to the control room, Ronja will try to buy us time!" Ronja slipped her hand into her pouch, throwing three spheres to the skies, that soon released a tiny cyan steam before releasing propellers that allowed them to fly all the way to the control room.

The tiny constructs soon released a thin laser toward the carapace of the control room, cutting through in what it seemed to be a circle shape.

Meanwhile, Ronja had to deal with a way to slow down the creature that seemed to be awaking.

Her hand reached for another sphere, grabbing it and twisting it, with a crackling escaping the sphere before she threw it toward the Overseer, allowing a cyan EMP explosion to surround its tendrils and its body-

Entre la espada y la pared… ¡ay que día! Already the girls were at a disadvantage with the extra loads they were carrying, the bag filled with cores as important (if perhaps not a little bit more) as the fallen magia, so of course the Overseer had to pick this very moment to wake up once more and wreck chaos.

"The control…? A-Alright!" A skeptical glance was given back to the room mentioned by the tinkerer, a hint of concern coloring her words, but she trusted the brunette to have a plan—even if Lúthien couldn’t see it right now. "Don’t do anything too reckless though!!!"

As much as the ranger would’ve loved to bring back the cores and the fallen magia they’d found here today she wasn’t against dropping one, or both of them, if it meant that Ronja made it back to MIT alive and in one piece… the girl had already been through enough, there wasn’t a need to tack on a DA to the series of unfortunate events that had plagued Ronja the moment Szofrit had decided to unleash war on them all.

The hissing sound of steam caught her ears just as the blonde ducked through the doorway, the bright blue smoke now pooling at the edges of its frame causing Lúthien to peek back enough to see what was going on. "Whoa!!!" She barely ducked in time to avoid one of the propelled spheres as they made their way into the control room as well, thin lasers slowly but surely making work through the carapace as they began crafting a possible exit for the girls.

"Ronja?!" The crackling sound was soon followed by flashes of bright cyan from the main room, enough to bring Lúthien’s attention back to it as she called out for her friend. For a moment it seemed as if the EMP explosion had worked, the steel blue light that ran through the tendrils flickering as a result, before a low vhoooooom echoed from the floors down below.

There was a distinct shift in the movements of the Overseer’s extended limbs, gone was the slow and careful approach they’d been using as they scanned the further most areas—now replaced by renewed vigor as one of the tendrils pierced through the wall and wrapped against one side of the doorway as an anchor.

The Overseer knew they were here, and it was coming for them…

Ronja scowled. That wasn't looking good at all, and the aid-lings she had sent to try to open the carapace were finding out that the material of the ship was immensely resistent. But they didn't give up, continuing to make a rotation movement and trying to wear out the metallic surface as much as they could, slowly trying to pierce through the layers of protections of the ship.

Her efforts to try and halt the Overseer continued, and seeing that the EMP bomb wasn't enough, Ronja decided that creativity may not be the actual solution for this situation, but rather... Brute force it.

She charged up her weapon, pulling her gun up and locking her aim on the tendril as it tried to explode the depths of the destroyed structure.

When it had finally charged up completely, a shot nearly sent Ronja away with the recoil, as she had done it with little to no preparation, in an act of desperation as she tried to strike one of the weakspots of the tendrils, hoping to at the very least try to ruin one of the pillars of movement of the magitech beast.

"Lu..." She muttered @Luthien's name, and then yelled- "VAL!" Ronja tried to load her weapon once again.

"Help the aid-lings. Escape with them, no matter what!" She exclaimed.

"C’mon, c’mon, c’monc’mon... hurryyy!" Crimson eyes stared intently at the trio of aid-lings as they worked their very hardest, but despite its wasting state it seemed the ship still had some resilience to it. Little by little the weight on her back was beginning to numb the arms that held the fallen magia in place, causing the ranger to shift from one foot to the other and bounce on the ball of her feet to try and alleviate some of the pressure.

What she hadn’t expected was the familiar roar of Ronja’s weapon, the sound of it sending a chill up her spine before Lúthien whirled around. "Ronja!!! Ronja, you alright?!" Her steps quickly carried her back to the doorway of the control room, catching sight of a tendril that slowly slithered off the edge after the blow of Ronja’s shot had severed some of the vertebrae from one another.

”Lu… VAL!”
"Oh thank the Alfather, you’re alright—fuck!"

The relief she felt from seeing her friend was soon replaced by dread as the ship shook once more, the intensity of the tremors increasing with every passing moment, before another tendril shot through the doorway that led down to the main building. It latched onto a column this time around, its grip strengthening as the cold blue light pulsed within it, but that was easy to ignore when Ronja stated the most ridiculous request Lúthien had heard yet.

"Are you crazy?! I’m not leaving you here, Ronja!" There was no way she would sacrifice her friend over a bunch of cores and a magia Lúthien didn’t even know, the greater good could go pound sand as far as the elf was concerned. "Look, your aid-lings are almost done I bet, j-just a little more and we’ll bust outta here…!"

The race will be decided via contested Mastery Check rolls between Ronja and the Overseer. In addition you may add +5 to your roll for each movement that the character has.

One Bonus Action and one Free Action are allowed for Ronja per post, but there's simply not enough time to perform a Main Action. Lúthien's currently too busy hauling ass carrying the fallen magia, so she won't be able to assist Ronja @Chanlye's homebrew has been enabled in the thread! Lúthien will be able to assist with BAs of FAs if applicable!

Good luck! 😰

Luthien's reaction was expected, Ronja didn't think for a moment it would be easy for the elf to swallow that idea.

"It isn't about leaving Ronja, it is about saving these cores!" She roared back.

The magia on @Luthien's arm, somehow tightened the hold on the elf, with a faint light shimmering in her exposed biomagitechnological interior before fading away once again.

Ronja had not realized it, and continued to try to push the Overseer back as much as she could.

"Ronja has a chance, even a second... the cores are here... and they are all or nothing!" She swallowed, tightening her grip on her Skullbuster and aiming once again at the faltering Overseer. The giant magia machine may have flinched from the shot it has just received...

Yet, it relentlessly tried to pull itself deeper into the ship, having its attention hyper focused toward the Starcalled. It was as if nothing else mattered, be it the ship that was nearly finding its balance out of the building it was stuck or the structures of the building itself that at any moment could give away.

"Go... Go, quick!" Ronja gritted her teeth, glancing behind for a second to see the aid lings working even faster than before, while she released a bullet after another against the carapace of the machine.

She bit back a remark as Ronja prioritized the well being of the cores, gazing towards the backpack that laid on the ground as Ronja did her best to keep the Overseer from entering the ship. While the cores themselves meant nothing to the elf when compared to the life of her friend, Lúthien also knew how important they were for the tinkerer… enough that Ronja was willing to risk danger and injury if it would increase the chances of them reaching the safety of MIT.

"Oh for Ys’ sake, why is everyone in our group so fucking stubborn...!" The arms of the fallen magia tightened around her shoulders then, granting the ranger enough freedom to reach down and pull the backpack into her arms. "You better hit headshot after headshot on that thing, Ronja!!!"

Perhaps it was a blessing in disguise that Fiora hadn’t been online when the pair had decided to head for Vintergard, Lúthien was sure the greenette would’ve murdered her right here and now as she turned her back on the brunette as she headed back into the control room.

"C’mon you rusted hull," Another shot rung from the other room, hitting a tendril and causing the ship to quake when the Overseer’s grasp slipped for a moment before reinforcing itself again. "Just. Give. Up. Already!!!"

Each word was accentuated by a heavy thud as the blonde kicked the center of the sections that the aid-lings were desperately working on, while the consecutive shots of Ronja’s Skullbuster echoed in the background. The glow of the Overseer intensified with each shot that ricocheted from its carapace, others managing to slip into the less protected joints and causing significant damage, and even though it lacked a face it wasn’t hard to see that the construct was starting to become enraged—unable to reach the Starcalled that were so close to its grasp.

"Ronja!!!" A final kick timed with the aid-lings work finally managed to loosen the metallic shell they’d worked so hard on severing, gravity quickly pulling it downwards as it crashed against the room of the building before sliding off the edge with a ruckus. "C’mon, time to go!!!"

A hand extended towards her friend as the wind picked up around the pair, a familiar pair of verdant wings appearing at the ankle of both girls, before Lúthien jumped out their improvised exit first.

Ronja ignored @Luthien's complaints initially. She truly appreciated how much the elf cared for her, but in her eyes, they had much more important things to deal with.

"Ronja is really trying-" She hissed, clicking her rifle again before letting another bullet blast off its barrel and sharply whistle against the wind, piercing on the side of the Overseer's crab-like head, making it tilt just in time for their escape route to finally open.

The wind caught her up, and Ronja similarly picked up the pace, leaping along with Luthien and reaching for her friend and the magia in a tight hug while the Overseer staggered.

"Brace yourself!" Ronja warned, tapping her ankles together and triggering an eruption of arcane jets through the sole of her feet.

Combined with the wind boost, Ronja could only hope that would be quick enough to gain some distance with a rapid flight, especially since the Overseer broke through the ship's carapace, bringing it down just as the girls escaped.

Ronja urged to look behind her back, but she didn't, trying to not let her hold on her friend slip while she tried to blast them out of there.

It’s a miracle she hadn’t dropped the bag filled with player cores or the fallen magia being carried on her back, but there had been little time to think about any of this when an Overseer was moments away from grinding them into burgers.

"Ronja!"
"Brace yourself!"

The embrace of her friend meant Lúthien no longer had to worry extensively about the magia on her back, the woman now safely sandwiched between both players as they plummeted through the sky. It wasn’t like they'd be able to go down the building anymore, not with the Overseer and the ship blocking the only access to it, and with the amount of noise their little encounter had been generating it was a matter of time before additional constructs began to show up.

It was definitely easier to maneuver with Ronja’s arcane jets added to the mix, the magitech tool adding the necessary power to slow down their descent to an acceptable speed as Lúthien focused the gust of winds instead to guide them out of any hurdles. The sound of splitting metal echoed loudly behind them, no doubt the Overseer was making quick work of the rusted hull of the ship in its desperate attempt to catch up with them, but neither of them could afford the luxury of sparing a glance back to whatever was currently happening on that rooftop.

"A-Almost there, get ready for a rough landing in three… two—shit!" Look, mathematics had never really been her thing to begin with, and actually trying to gauge through eye alone how quickly they were coming onto the ground proved a lot harder than Lúthien initially thought. A final puff of wind suddenly blew beneath them, trying to break their speed one last time, before solid ground finally greeted the two girls.

The landing was softened, yet, the magia still lost some of her balance while all of they were all entangled in a protective embrace. As they fell, Ronja felt the impact being cushioned by the wind, and she had no words to thank her friend for saving their butts on it.

But it wasn't like she had time, she rushed ahead.

"Lu, quick!" Ronja held her friend and tried to get her back to her feet, gently tugging her to urge the elf to follow, though she knew she couldn't ask much from her friend when she was carrying such a heavy weight with her, something which Ronja tried to compensate by wrapping an arm under the magia and pulling her up a bit, forcing her back in a better position.

In the brief moment they had managed to buy, Ronja spent a few seconds to take a tight grasp of Luthien's shoulders and lock her gaze on the elf's. "Keep running, please. Ronja will catch you up. She promises."

Her lips pursed.

"She will buy us all the time we need." Her grasp become gentler, and she slowly released it, turning around to face the path the Overseer would soon take, as she could listen to its machinery echoing less than a minute away from them. It was impressive how fast it was, considering the boost of speed the two had received.

Now that they were on the open field, she didn't need to worry if an explosion would destroy a whole room or not. There was no need to hold back anymore.

Soon, Ronja's suit quickly changed, becoming bulkier and with energy beaming and running through her body while her power and reach enhanced.

"War Lings, spread out-!"

@Luthien would know these constructs well, small machines that looked like spiders with a red glowing dot in its lens as it rushed ahead and started burying into the ground... Except they appeared in a swarm, spreading across the ground and nearby buildings, preparing a trap that used most of what Ronja had at her disposal in terms of firepower.

It would be a lot of costs, and recharging all of that would take weeks, but Ronja had to risk it.

Leaving the trap behind, Ronja tried to catch Luthien up.
