As Nyancy readied herself to attack once more, suddenly an Aloe beam and various other high-powered spells, attacks, and maneuvers struck the basilisk eliminating it in one big flurry of powerful attacks. Seeing that the creature was downed, Nyancy breathed a sigh of relief as she let her magical swords dissipate.

"This was ah close one! And hea I thought I was ah dead cat, guess I got ah few moah lives in me ah whateva though."


Hmmm....

Nyancy scratched her little chin. A thought was forming.

Ya know, in all them Greek legends, or at least that one with tha guy and tha flyin' hoase ah whateva tha hero used paht of the monstah tah help 'em latah. This is givin' widdle Nyancy ah widdle idea...

Walking over to the now dead basilisk, Nyancy summoned her ice sword.

"Eh, don't mind me ova hea. I just got an idea ah whateva. Might prove useful latah."


Approaching the monster from the back of its head, as to not inadvertently meet its gaze again, (who knew exactly how its magic eyes worked after all)

Nyancy, with a few quick cuts, removed the beasts eyes from its head quickly stashing them in a sack.

"Not very glamours, an honestly, kinda disgustin' but ya nevah know when some monstah eyes might come in handy. Maybe they still got some juice and we can use 'em to stun somethin' if thea's anythin' else in the dungeon ah whateva."

She had readied her javelin, preparing to thrust it outwards again in a blind attack against the giant creature. Her arm had pulled back, muscles tensed and ready...and then she had felt something thud into the ground. Snapping her head around, she'd turned to find the creature dead - more than a few steps away from her.

Slowly, almost in denial of the entire thing, she let her arm drop slightly. She felt a minor twinge of disappointment - was it already over so quickly? - before she heard the sounds of something else in the area. Her head swivelled, trying to locate the sound, a small growl in her throat starting up as she spun on the spot.

At least that thing's dead before we have to deal with whatever else is out there...


It wasn't much comfort, or consolation, but Nymoria had to admit it was the smart play. Having to split - or try and defend themselves against two of these things - wouldn't have been the best situation. Although with how easily this thing went down, maybe it wouldn't be so bad... She shook her head, not believing that concept in the slightest. It was always better to be with the upper hand, no matter how much fun it might be to find oneself in a challenge.

Raising her voice, she called out to the others around her - careful not to cause too much of a disturbance, but just enough so that everyone else would hear her.

Anyone else hearing that...? Any idea where it's coming from...?

Yu could barely hold on to the basilisk as it thrashed about trying to shake him off, attack his party, and who knew what else it was dong. All the really mattered to the Hunter was keeping a tight grip on the horn that was currently keeping him from flying off into the distance like Team Rocket, blasting off again.

Or at least that was until a massive beam of fuck-this-lizard-in-specific nearly hit Yu as well, and sent him tumbling back into the dirt to rejoin the party. "Hey, watch where you guys are aiming that thing!" the man scolded them in an annoyed tone before they all ignored him and beat the lizard back to the Jurassic era where it belonged.

Now, maybe call it intuition, but despite the most immediate danger having passed, alarms continued to go off in Yu's head. Something wicked this way comes, and Yu's head swiveled towards the massive wrought iron gate that stood to the west of the party. Perhaps being overly cautious, the flung a spray of blood towards the gate, splattering it with pinpricks of red before the sound of shattering glass announced the creation of crystalline spikes, barring the path to and from the gate.

Unfolding the Unknown
The permafreezing arrows of @Luthien pinned the relentless beast, making it sink deep into a helpless state that it has never found itself in all its ages of existence-- Something, that in front of the strong Starcalled was a death sentence.

@Cain Darlite and @Aloe called forth, bringing the spirits all high up for the warriors that charged toward the now helpless creature.

At their mercy, the creature couldn't avoid the amalgamation of flames @Zelrius created to strike it, opening severe wounds on its carapace, making it sensible and weak, way too weak. @Magi Heart brought an unholy power into the fight, summoning tendrils that coiled around the beast that roared desperately-- And @Moonsong, in the lowest of the attacks, went straight for the weakest spot of the giant monster, that felt its legs weakening and clinging in the last of its breaths.

It wasn't going to leave without a fight, however. Its eyes brimmed, ready to bring the end of the dark Songstress that dared to sever its honor...

Its eyes brimmed with a deadly magic, one that used all of its energies in a last, destroying attack--

However, just before the creature could sneak its desperate move, the ice summoned blade of @Nyancy sliced the eye out, severing the gaze of the monster for good, rendering it harmless in its last moments.



"Yeeees!" The girl cheered, raising her arms. "They won, the heroes won!" She exclaimed.


The woman, however, clicked her tongue thrice. "Tsk, tsk, tsk." She rose a finger, waving it rhythmically. "No matter how strong one is, a song of victory can only happen when you know you have truly been victorious... And for that... They still had people to save."


"Ah, but they can just bring them out of there now." The girl retorted.


"If only it was that easy-" She muttered, resuming the story...





Dead, the Eternal Gazer's eyes emptied, and its body, just as quickly as it stood unmoving- Quickly had its scales falling off, and its flesh putrefying as sight distorted around it.

The sounds @Nymoria heard along with her words regarding it, caught the attention of @Yugam, who was quick to approach the side entrance, filling it with dangers for the incoming enemy.

Louder, louder... The sound became too deafening, to a point now everyone could hear it. @Nymoria, in the middle of the sound stimuli, could detect something subtle between it... A cracking, one that she soon would notice, shifting her eyes toward the southeast pillar, that suddenly snapped, slowly falling and then crashing against the floor, rumbling the room that was now shaking while huge rocks and ceiling chunks fell and blocked the exit.

The reason? One could only guess it was the death of the ancient monster that had this place as a lair...

Meanwhile, other Basilisks- These ones of the size of bulls, charged into the battlefield, being met by the dangers Yugam had created to halt their advances. Some escaped, others remained, and some even fiercely ignored their wounds.

They were going in for the revenge, and the Starcalled now had priorities to take.

To fight? To save? To run? Only the story would tell...

@Nyancy removed the eyes of the Eternal Gazer. She has acquired 1x Eye of Eternity and has negated Last Gaze Death Mechanic.

@Yugam has created a Hazardous Zone in A3. Anyone (himself excluded) that steps in it must pass a DC 107 Fortitude Save to avoid receiving 54 damage and lose 1 Movement. You may decide to use 2 Movements to move carefully through it, avoiding the hazard entirely.

The death of the Eternal Gazer triggered a grand shaking, and pieces of the ceiling are falling hazardously across the area. Everyone receives 10 physical damage (unaffected by modifiers). Every Cycle, the damage will increase by 15.

To escape, you must get past Row 5. To get past Row 5, you must make a Fitness Expertise Check against a DC equal to the SP the Rock Obstacles on the area.

Every Cycle, the Rock Obstacles SP will increase by 25d20.

The kick full of force proved to be the best possible finishing attack as the beast's legs finally gave up and it collapsed, dying a sad death. Before dying though, the Basilisk gazed again towards her, but this time it was very different-

-as if it's staring right into her soul.

It collapsed, its pair of deadly eyes removed from their sockets. The brunette exhaled. "Thank you. @Nyancy, is it? It would have been dangerous for me if you weren't there." Moonsong let out an appreciation for the small beastfolk who swiftly removed the eyes of the Basilisk in one swift move, giving her a thumbs up.

She turned to @Nymoria, who couldn't hide her disappointment. "Hey, it's not so bad, is it?" The songstress chuckled before coughing out blood. Okay, the amount of damage she took was way more than she anticipated. If she was rammed against the pillar once more, she could've been dead. Yeah, would probably prefer the Sky Lance over this unstoppable force.

Looking left to face @Magi Heart, who didn't look too good after using that last deadly attack, Moonsong grinned and quipped. "Heh. You don't look too good, Magi. I'm also offering to end your pain, if you want." She doesn't usually make jokes like this. Maybe some of Kenji's stupid humor stuck with her?

The whole place started to crumble, and small basilisks poured into the room attacking them. Moonsong quickly shouted to the rest of the party, "This place isn't going to last long! Finish the little ones, then we bring those people out!" She rushed to the downed Adventurer in the corner, carrying him on her shoulders. "Come on, we're getting you out of here."

Nymoria felt herself pause, torn between the two options in front of her. On the one hand, there were things to fight, things to put down. Things that she wanted to go feral on, given the chance. On the other hand, however, was the reason they were here - people needing help, rescue. She held still for far longer than she liked with indecision, torn between her two natural reactions.

She'd almost rushed forwards to engage the creatures before realising there was more important work to be done. There's enough of them to handle the beasts...and we came here to rescue these people. Do what needs to be done, not what you want to do... Almost angrily, she whipped around and rushed towards the furthest body, the one that only she was within reach of at the moment.

Come on...I got you, let's get you out of here...


She hated that her voice contained an almost venom-like tone to it, furious at the fact that she was once again being left out of the combat itself. At least this time you're helping people...at least there's that. You're not being useless...you're just doing exactly what you should be doing.

The voice inside her head didn't help nearly as much as she would've liked it to, and as she dragged the person alongside her - equating it to moving a boulder, entirely resistant and heavy as all hell - she couldn't help but glance across the room with an envy-like gaze at the fighting going on.

You could...help a little, you know...wouldn't kill you...


She puffed as she pulled the person alongside her, focusing on the escape in the distance. They just had to reach that tunnel, make their way back and out...it wasn't so far, and yet somehow it felt like they'd never make it.

Well, what did he say?

He did see it coming.

As @Nyancy's blade put an end to the Gaze of Eternity and @Nymoria called out the threat on the other end, Cain collected the scattered firmament into his hands once more, the ever-mutable substance of the Battle-Banner of Fallen Embers swirling around him.

He saw the line, after all. Six monsters, six unconscious, and nine Starcalled to answer this trial. Light footwork caused the Basilisk that leapt at him to only graze the midnight-haired muse's coattails, while the crumbling of stone was but a perfunctory concern. The quest wasn't over, but the quest would be completed perfectly. No monsters left standing, no adventurers left behind. And as the substance of stars swirled around his arms, the heat of the sun singing its explosive frequency beneath his fingertips, Cain brought them both together, into a pyroclasmic blast of sound, one powerful enough to topple both of the bull-sized reptiles over into their brethren.

"@Zelrius! @Magi Heart! Finish them off in one fell swoop! The rest, go retrieve the incapacitated! I'll cover our exit!"

With that, he shared the remnants of that celestial power with Luthien and Aloe, before scrambling back towards the collapsing wreckage, ready to...what?

Block the rubble with his body? Use Astramancy to slow or halt the fall of rocks? The possibilities were endless; the future not yet set to stone.

There were particular things one might feel when in the presence of truly powerful individuals. Awe, wonder, but also fear. Between Zelrius's impressive display of power, and Magi's own dissonant tentacles, not to mention the combined efforts of the rest of the party, Yu could only stand by and watch with his mouth slightly agape, a cold chill running down his spine as he imagined what it might've been like to be the basilisk in that moment, to have it's life extinguished in the blink of an eye.

There was no time to applaud the party though, as the quiet rumblings slowly grew into a roar, the sharp click clacking of small pieces of rock falling from the ceiling cutting through it all. For a moment, Yu did nothing simply watching with bated breath to see if they'd all catch a new DA beneath a pile of stones.

CRASH!

A flood of smaller basilisks burst through the iron gates, some gouging themselves on Yu's field of thorns as they stampeded through it. And through him. The man could hardly keep his footing as he brought an arm up to shield his face from debris and teeth. Sharp fangs sank into his arm, and another into his leg as the beasts flowed around him.

"Fuck off me!" the man shouted as he finally had the room to swing his sword. Unmei bit into the leather flesh of both lizards, sinking into their guts, and forcing them to release their grips as Yu turned to look at the others, Moonsong already organizing a response, the others acting just as quick.

It was then that little Nyancy noticed that the sky, or more like the cieling, was beginning to cave in. This was bad. They still had numerous people that needed saving and on top of that, more weaker basilisks were beginning to charge into the area.

Guess killin' tha mama basilisk made 'em mad...

Quickly taking everything into account, Nyancy decided the best course of action would be to get as many people to safety as possible.

"Bein ah hero ain't just about slayin' monstahs... I'll carry as many as I can tah saftey. Watch my back ah whateva!"


Releasing the magic that created her sword, Nyancy got down into a three point stance.

Nyancy, with a few quick cuts, removed the beasts eyes from its head quickly stashing them in a sack.

"Gotta move quick!"


Harnessing the Beast Lord's Blood that pumped through the small Felis' body, Nyancy took off in a dead sprint.

"Come on, Nyancy! Move!"


Nyancy wove around falling rocks, dodging left, right, and bounding off walls to get to the first victim. As she approached, Nyancy quickly scooped the victim up and threw them over her shoulder.

"Gonna be hardah tah move with this weight, but I can do it!


Pushing herself, Nyancy dodged through rubble until she reached the next victim. Picking up the second person, she lobbed them over her shoulder and continued sprinting.

One final note of inspiration from Cain put the wind at her back and it told her the performance was over. Yes, the DPS party had partied, and now the boss was vanquished. The gazer may have been a jerk, but it had also been a worthy foe and thus deserved a proper send off. And so, Aloe prayed over it silently for a moment, offering her respects, before promptly getting sucker-tailed by a different Basilisk and having the roof fall on her.

"Right then~"


Aloe nodded, not seeming to notice that there was blood streaming down her forehead or that a basilisk was currently clamped on to her right wing. She began to look for her rod which she realized she still needed, and picking it up, scanned the battlefield. It was around then that Aloe felt a divine oracle or perhaps it was her intuition as she turned toward @Magi Heart . The girl was like a black hole, and yet black holes too could be beautiful, for the aloe aloe universe contained all of life's victorious little mysteries. Aloe (who currently looked like a mix of Slowbro and Carrie) raised her rod and waved it in a little circle as the die atop spun.

"Remember everyone~! The field trip isn't over until everyone is home safe and victorious~! Aloe's rally dice~!"


Aloe sent twinkly little aloe flowers down into the deep abyss that was the great engine of a churning dark void. It was an ever-so-slight change of contexts or perhaps fate that led to things being just a little gentler, like the sight of a pressed flower, an extra nugget in your order, or the shine of the porchlight when you're arriving home after a long day's work.

The Eternal Gazer fell under the pressure of the almost quite literal party. Magi's magic subsided as her form became less shadow and more girl again. taking Gertrud back in hand, the Dark Heart prepared to move on to other targets, the suffering sleepers here had been her side objective from the start. They were still trapped in their gaze-stricken prisons so it was her job to end that for them!

Wendel halted when the nyanko hero tore out the monster's eyes. A conflicting moment came to her before it was interrupted by a tail to the side of her head. Her exhausted body smashed into the pillar and was nearly crushed by falling pieces of the stone ceiling above. The dungeon had begun to fall to pieces!

"...Urgh what? B-Baby lizards? Little kaijus... *giggle* You lost your mama or papa didn't you?


Pulling herself up and leaning against the pillar she watched as they rushed into a melee with the party. Dark blood ran down the side of her head and her knees felt weak. Still, compared to previous damage she had experienced this was nothing all that special.

A feeling of energy washed over Wendel as @Aloe offered her healing. Magi did not return any response. She had a mission again that took priority.

Save the Baby Kaijus!

More stones fell as the shaking steadily increased all around. The pinkette distanced herself just enough and pulled her hand back as she mentally charted the locations of several of them.

A piece of ceiling crashed into her shoulder hard. A sickening crack as it dislocated upon impact.
She ignored it and opened her fist releasing her spread shot over and through whoever it needed to get to those lonely babies.

Her arm went limp but dying cries that faded to peaceful silence was worth it. Wendel didn't have time to worry about her usual follow-up of "what if a ghost?" right now. So she began to back towards where the exit was while trying to gather the energy to finish the job.

It worked… it actually worked!

The rush of excitement that coursed the elf’s veins was hard to describe as Lúthien watched her lightning arrows actually cause the desired effect the archer had been after, the now incapacitated beast becoming quick and easy pickings for the rest of the party as a result. It was then she noticed Yugam break away from the vanguard, crimson eyes carefully watching the man rush towards the entrance at their left before employing his Hemomancy to create an obstacle of thorny bloods in its vicinity.

Before she could think about joining the man the entire room had suddenly began to shake just as The Eternal Gazer drew its last breath, the creature’s corpse putrefying at an alarming rate and causing Luthien to pinch her nose the very second its fetid smell reached her nostrils. "What the fuck—!" It was then a crackling sound echoed in the chamber, followed by others before the southeast pillarsnapped without warning as the ceiling began to cave in on them—just as a swarm of lesser basilisks entered front he left and threatened anyone they could reach within the room.

Two particular individuals rushed past the hunter and towards the area where Cain, Aloe and Lúthien stood; the elf having to brace her bow tightly just as one of the creatures recklessly whipped its tail towards the ranger. "Yu?!" Her attention however remained mostly focused on the hunter up ahead just as two lesser basilisks surrounded the man as they unleashed attacks in his direction, causing him to curse before he retaliated against them.

With Cain grabbing the attention of the reptiles around them the blonde felt confident enough to support her boyfriend, plucking arrow after arrow from her quiver before allowing them to fly towards their targets. The first few embedded themselves into the healthier looking basilisk, a series of lightning shocks wracking the body of the creature whenever each arrowhead pierced its leathery hide. Once it collapsed the archer’s attention quickly turned to its companion, a single arrow quickly dispatching the creature that had already been hanging onto life by a thread, before the last few were sunk into the remaining basilisk that Cain’s own attack hadn’t felled.

"Grab that person, Yu!"

After all they had come to rescue the missing adventurers and explorers in this very room, and considering their current state it was clear they wouldn’t be walking out of here on their own two feet anytime soon. The ranger herself rushed to the southwest pillar where the first victim had been found, eyeing the massive rocks that had fallen and now blocked their exit with disdain. Quietly the girl seemed to muse her options as she gazed into the rubble, checking the inside of her cheek while deep in thought, before a quiet "Fuck it…!" escaped her elven lips as the archer readied her bow once more.

Two additional arrows were nocked on the bowstring and pulled back tightly, their tips flashing a bright blueish purple as arcing streaks of electricity danced between them, before the blonde allowed the arrows to fly with a deafening thunderous sound as they struck the obstacles in their way.

The flames burned on, dying down slowly before the combination of attack of the pink haired girl, and the tank Moonsong finished off its charred and smoldering corpse. The feeling was intense, every muscle in his body felt alive. He had given that attack his full exertion, and it had paid off, something straight out of a movie in his eyes. Able to command flame, to pull on his own life force to fuel it, working together with Luthien's paralysis. His whole face was a mess of lines. Cheeks nothing but bulbs of facial muscle under his eyes, mount wide, with a toothy, excited grin. Blue eyes pulled to full alert as he looked around the room to catch any gazes, to feel his moment.

It wouldn't last, that moment of elation. There was still work to be done. He hadn't seen it or heard it like the others had, but the smaller lizards had come charging in all the same. Through the traps that were set up, and even with Nymoria's sense. Swarming into the room, blocking their paths. Were there more behind them? Perhaps they all needed to turn tail and leave immediately. Cain was ever quick on his feet, and the adrenaline stopped Zelrius from thinking straight. "Right!" he answered in simple response to the man, having used his magic to shove another creature into his range. It was easy enough to dodge the swiping, spiked tail of the creature, atleast enough that there was no direct hit. Stepping, and then spinning around with his volcanic weaponry. Stabbing into one, and then channeling his fire through it to smoke its insides. Before doing the same to the other. For once, actually using his sword-dancing skills to gracefully move around his space and expertly find the weaknesses in the reptilian armor each had.

Feeling their final squirms each as their blood was spilled, and their meat squelched from the impacts, left with smoke that leaked out of those incisions made by his blades. Two problems solved for now. All that was left was the rescue operation from the collapsing tunnels.

@Yugam, @Magi Heart, @Luthien and @Zelrius brought the creatures down, one by one with fierce strikes, magics and arrows that pierced them down, with a combined attack brought by @Cain Darlite's controlling spell that sent all of the creatures in a single area that was exploded with every mighty attack the Starcalled could pull off.

@Aloe took care of wounds, while @Moonsong, @Nyancy, and @Nymoria went for the rescue, taking on their hands and shoulders the, still in catatonic state, victims of the Eternal Gazer.

Some of the group retreated, and as @Luthien approached one of the hostages, the pillar snapped in front of them snapped and cracked, and it rumbled loudly as it started to incline toward her and the victim right next to her. @Cain Darlite could see the enormous and deadly structure going down, with @Nyancy coming along toward it with two hostages in her arms, trying to rush to the exit.

They knew, however, that they wouldn't be fast enough to avoid it--


The woman, however, clicked her tongue thrice. "The room shook, stones and stones fell, crushing everything in their sight, with its pieces being sent flying as dangerously as arrows when breaking with all force on the floor... It seemed like there was no hope for the heroes beneath the falling structure..."

"-- But then, the pillar hit the crumbling ceiling and holds on there, stopping many of the rocks from falling on the heroes!" The girl interrupted the story.





-- Miraculously, the ceiling seemed to be lower as it neared the exit, making the top of the pillar strike it, and serve as a momentary shield for the rumbles that fell. The ranger, the ninja, and the flagbearer could see the giant structure dangerously hanging on there, being both their salvation and their future doom if they weren't quick enough.



"Why are you helping them out? They are already doing pretty well." The woman questioned.


"They are doing well, but you are trying to get the pretty elf lady, the ninja cat lady, and the rad music guy dead for drama!" The girl pouted.


"Me? Never~"



Rocks fell, and the entrance that had just been opened was now starting to pile up again.

The death of the Eternal Gazer triggered a grand shaking, and pieces of the ceiling are falling hazardously across the area. Everyone receives 20 physical damage (unaffected by modifiers). Every Cycle, the damage will increase by 15 10.

To escape, you must get past Row 5. To get past Row 5, you must make a Fitness Expertise Check against a DC equal to the SP of the Rock Obstacles on the area.

Every Cycle, the Rock Obstacles SP will increase by 25d20 15d20.

Another pillar collapsed. Everyone on Rows 4 and 5 receives 10% of the SP increase as damage. @Cain Darlite, @Luthien & @Nyancy receive 17 physical damage.

You may try and rescue the victims by carrying them out of the room, using a Standard Action to carry them with you.

If you have Carry or Reposition, you can carry them as a Bonus Action.

"This place is collapsing really fast!" Moonsong commented, dragging the adventurer with her toward the exit. The doorway at the end of the room is blocked by debris, but the others are currently dealing with it. Also, it looks like all of the mini-basilisk were already dead, so they only have to get away now.

Suddenly, a piece of the ceiling came down toward her. Not able to move quickly while helping the adventurer, she instead shielded him from the impact, causing her forehead to bleed as the big piece of stone slammed into her. "Crap." She cursed, trying to walk straight towards the other in hope that she makes it with the rest of the people here.

"I'm a little- ugh, busy at the moment!"
Yu shouted back as he shook the smaller basilisk off his arm and kicked it away. He turned to check on the status of everyone else, just in time to watch @Zelrius turn the last of the lesser basilisks into smoldering shishkabobs and cooked their insides.

Good, that was one threat eliminated, now to just escape before they were all turned into pancakes. Some sooner than others.

"Look out!" Yu shouted at the small group in the way of the collapsing pillar. By some miracle, the massive piece of stone caught itself on the (was it always like that?) slanted ceiling, saving those beneath from the worst of the damage.

Right, back to, you know, not dying.

Moving towards the collapsing exit, Unmei's blades multiplied, swirling around Yu before flying towards the wall of rock, jamming themselves in every crevice they could find, trying to provide some frictional support to keep the exit open just a little longer. In an instant, the blades pulled the rocks apart, clearing the way entirely. "C'mon guys, we gotta delta!"

Aloe could deny reality no longer as her poise finally broke. She still had one comical extra Basilisk clinging to her right wing as she was absolutely drenched in her own black magia blood. And yet...

The ceiling continued to cave in around them, the Aloe 9. Yes, all nine, Aloe could sense that even Litty was fighting. But it wasn't enough. For every push they gave, it seemed like the jeering stones and rotten fruit from a harsher genre found them on the stage again and again, striking painfully, jeopardizing their hard-won victory, the lives they fought for with all their efforts, to render all moot. The claws of un-victory dug in and began to drag back all its pieces. No, this wasn't quite right, Aloe realized, victory could still be theirs, but not the joyous kind to be sung for the inspiration of others. No, they had tread on the path of the somber kind that carried some kind of lesson. Aloe wouldn't accept that. That was not what she was striving to become.

"No... this can't be right... It isn't right. This isn't the way it's supposed to go... I'm not just The Goddess of Victory... I'm the Goddess of Total Victory... I'm Aloe..."


But why the heck was she doing all this anyway? It hadn't started this way. When Aloe arrived on The Terraphere, she had had only one goal: to live for herself. Or so, she thought. Deep down, however, the thought of being forgotten terrified her. She could stand the pit Eve had thrown her in, if only there had been others out there to call her name. People liked winners. People liked knowing it was all going to be okay. People liked seeing dreams come true. Just leave everything to Aloe.

"Victory in~ Victory out~ I just have to remember the feeling... If Litty can do it... if everyone is fighting hard... then I think I can try hard too!"


Aloe, manifested The Goddess Stone, now a dull glimmer from its once glorious self. Aloe placed it into her staff.

Aloe gulped. The error messages continued in her head as her wings spread wide once more and her halo began to spin...

"MARK NOW THESE FEELINGS OF MINE~! ~ ECLIPSE ALL POSIBILITES~ AND OPEN THE DESIRED ROUTE~! THE WORLD IS ALOE THE ALOE IS I~! SO I SAY~!"


Something was wrong. Aloe's halo was spinning far too fast as it warbled, and sparks flew out making an awful retching noise. Aloe's Goddess OS kept trying to activate safe mode and purge the foreign element, but Aloe shook her head and just wouldn't let it. Everything around her went white. It was a familiar feeling. Aloe again thought of the wall and how she had saved everyone to give herself courage. It hadn't happened, but Aloe liked to think it did, and maybe she really believed... Aloe raised her staff in the air.

"ALOE~! ALOE~! MIRACLE~! HYOOOOOOO~!




And exploded.

The rumbling was getting out of control, the last of the basilisks were dead now. It was time to go. Zelrius whipped around on his heel just in time to see the Pillar be caught on the frame of the opening, with his allies under it. Darlite, the magnificent support that he was, standing there as a watcher to ensure their escape and still ushering orders. This was, fucking intense. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest, practically vibrating with the sheer thrill pulsing through every vein and artery in his body.

Effortlessly, he watched @Yugam clear the way with his magical blades, holding open the massive gap in the wall for them. And distantly hearing @Aloe 's declarations and astounding feat of heroism. His own part in this was not over yet. A glance to his left to see Moonsong dragging one of the bodies was the last bit of motivation he needed. A reminder of why they originally came here. Spotting one body in the shadows close to the wall, his brows furrowed.

The resulting echoes of his form made of fire erupted like a gasoline lit grill, dashing forward with his trail of ash and cinder to that person. Getting down and grabbing their legs first, laying backward on top of them to force their unconscious limbs around his waist. Then, reaching back and grabbing their arms, to wrap around his neck. There wasn't much holding on someone could do while not presently awake, but it would have to do for now. No. Not with everyone watching here. He'd impress upon them his real qualities. They wouldn't see him as a failure. Fighting back that momentary hesitation, the man bent down, scooping up the other body under their knees and back. Hunching forward to make sure his first passenger didn't slump back and fall off. His brown and black hiker boots squeaked and pulled, crying out at the way his dynamic-fire dried out the leather and fabric that held it together.

They'd have to hold on a bit longer, as Zelrius rushed right past @Cain Darlite and through the opening. Ready to drop these two in safety and turn back around if need be.

The bodies that Nymoria had been working to collect were picked up by another, sped away with a determination and skill that Nymoria could only hope to have one day. She glanced around, looking for anyone else needing help - the rubble falling around her lost to the background, ignored in the moment.

She could see the few Starcalled she had arrived with hasting their retreat, falling back away from the large expanse as they tried desperately to make their way out in time. She couldn't see any outstanding bodies, the few having been collected and pulled, dragged or otherwise carried to safety. The smaller Basilisk that had appeared dealt with, the area clear of any concerns - aside from the falling rocks.

Alright...looks like everyone else has made it to safety. I should be going too, seeing as I'd prefer not to become entombed here...or anywhere, really. She turned towards the exit, pushing her feet as she went and hoping, praying, that she would make it. Javelin in hand, she sprinted towards the safety that it offered, leaping over smaller boulders without breaking stride, a slight snarl on her face at the effort she was having to put out for this.

Funny thing about plans… doesn’t matter how hard you try they almost always seem to go awry one way or another.

Her arrows had managed to deplete a good amount of the rocks blocking their exit, causing the blonde to feel overconfident as everything seemed to go the way she’d hoped. Now she’d only need to grab the person beside her, Yugam could grab the one furthest away, and after one good hit from the hunter they’d be home free and out of this place.

"Look out!"

His voice came just a heartbeat after the elf had begun to feel the tremors under the earth, the cracking of stone behind her catching Lúthien’s attention to see the stones in the ceiling above her begin to loosen and crumble. "Shit—!" Instinctively she had pressed back towards the pillar as she crouched down by its base—never having expected the many earthquake practices at school when young to actually come useful. It was then she felt the pillar shift, causing the ranger’s heart to skip a beat or two as a result, before the crunching sound of stone against stone caused Lúthien to look up once more. "Que fucking suerte..." A sigh of relief escaped the archer, quietly blessing whatever deity had decided to look down on her and her comatosed charge, before a frown found its way to her elven features as she noticed the additional rocks blocking their exit.

@Yugam was quick on the update, the man doing his best to fully clear a path they all could use to escape, though in doing that he’d been unable to carry the other comatosed player—Or is it a lander? Gosh, it’s almost impossible to tell them apart!—along with him. A glance to her left confirmed the ninja cat was also struggling with her two charges, the initial burst of strength @Nyancy had displayed now fizzling out as she was forced to stop for a moment and drop them to catch her breath.

She’d been biting her lower lip, deep in thought, when the familiar pinkett had stepped towards them. Her voice had been the first thing to catch Lúthien’s attention, the ranger turning to look at the magia as she got back onto her feet before noticing ❰ The Goddess Stone ❱ in the girl’s hands once more. It was placed onto her staff before the magia began to chant and cheer for them all, but something about the rock just didn’t seem right this time around. "Aloe wait, I have a bad feeling about this—" Her words fell short just as a protective astral energy momentarily gathered around Lúthien and the nearest comatosed adventurers and explorers they had been tasked to retrieve, the body of the magia beginning to glow as her halo spun too rapidly for it to be alright.

"ALOE~! ALOE~! MIRACLE~! HYOOOOOOO~!
"Aloe!?!"

The glow shone brighter, the white light causing Lúthien to shield her eyes, just before the sound of an explosion rang through the space they occupied. The force had been enough to knock two of the immobilized players towards the now cleared exit, the ranger finding herself still standing thanks to the pillar that had supported her back through the blast.

"Fuck...!"

There was a ringing in her ears that caused her hearing to fail momentarily, the expletive tumbling out of her lips louder than usual as a result , before the blonde’s eyes scanned the slowly settling dust and debris for the magia. Let her be okay, she has to be okay—there! Finally she spotted the battered and bruised figure of @Aloe, the damage she’d endured from the explosion easily evident on her physical self but she was still alive and breathing—and, honestly, that was all that truly matter in the end.

"Come on Aloe, we’re getting outta here now!" A hand reached for the magia’s own, squeezing it firmly within her fingers before Lúthien guided the arm of their little victory goddess over her shoulders. Her other arm wrapped around the back of Aloe’s waist for support, before the ranger began to lead the pinkette in the same direction all the others were also escaping through. "We can’t have a total victory if you stay behind."
