There must be a way to find out what creature is before us - The brave Starcalled considered.
@Yugam, marching forward, took some blood out of the poor helpless man, with the leak coming out just as normal, albeit too cold and weakly. The heart was beating weak, no wonder the man looked so pale and didn't respond even with the wound growing on him.
@Luthien felt the increasing despair growing in the room, but... It was coming from far more people than the group had. A glance to the side proved more victims like the man were around there- But as soon as @Moonsong and @Nymoria charged in reckless abandon toward the thing in the end of the room, the elf could feel an anger growing.
@Zelrius marched forward as well, with his flames lighting the path, approaching the two flames that brimmed in the end of the great hall. The dimlight began bathing the scales of the beast, that showed to be even more enormous than anticipated. The girls attacks didn't make it even flinch with the hit echoing muffled through the room.
From afar, @Cain Darlite, as soon as he could see the creature in its entirety, along with the knowledge the brave Starcalled acquired, he could bring the truth about that ancient monstruosity. Its gaze nearly met his, but the man instinctively avoided it.
It was too late for the two women in the Vanguard, however...

(EX) BASILISK, THE ETERNAL GAZER
❰ 1500 / 1500 ❱
❰ 9672 / 10000 ❱
Cycle 1 - Interjection!
Manaover. The high density of mana increased the power of the Eternal Gazer.
Curse of Eternity. A mere glimpse of the Eternal Gazer's eyes is enough to trigger the curse it wields.
For every 1 stack of Curse of Eternity, there is a 10% chance of your character being unable to act, being stuck in a catatonic state where they relive several moments of their past and the past of the Eternal Gazer's victims. Including their Real Life memories.
If you end the Cycle with 5 stacks, your character gets permanently stuck on it until cured with a DC 200 Support Mastery Check or become dead. Both OOC and IC wise they are considered 'out of combat'.
Condition DC of the Basilisk, for those using Homebrew, is 80.

- Anyone that attacks the Eternal Gazer directly must make a DC 130 Will Save. Upon failure, they gain 1 stack of Curse of Eternity + 1 extra stack for every 20 points below the Save Value.
- One may decide to attack glancing partially through reflections or peripheral vision, doing it with a -30 roll penalty. They must make a DC 100 Will Save instead. Upon failure, they gain 1 stack of Curse of Eternity + 1 extra stack for every 20 points below the Save Value.
- It is also possible to try to attack it without looking at all, doing so with a -60 roll penalty, but not needing to do any Will Save.
- During the Eternal Gaze's Cycle, it may actively use its cursed gaze, affecting targets regardless of their sight.
