The dark-haired youth felt a loud thumping in his chest as he laid on his bed, which took up almost a fifth of his tiny apartment. Central Boston wasn't known for affordable and spacious apartments after all. Regardless, all of Kiriya's spatial limitation was about to be a nonissue as he was standing, well, lying at the precipice of the new world.
All he could see, however, were menus upon menus of different settings and options that were far more expansive than what a normal VR gear consumer would see. The adapter itself was a sleek white with a very modern design, given to him by Nexus' HR that morning. Though, he hasn't been able to open the package until he got home because of the startup regimen that all new hires have to go through. And the training videos, dear god, the lengthy and deathly boring videos, which took him around 4 hours to complete, while in the presence of an HR personnel. By the end of his 8-hours shift, he felt like he was ready to jump out of the window across from his training room, which was only 50-stories high. It would have been a swifter death than having to watch other hour of company philosophy and work-life mindset.
Kiriya tried his hardest to bury the catchy intro tune that played at the beginning of each training videos as he zipped through the UI, calibrating all of the settings to give himself the best experience in game. Once the VR adapter was ready, a grin came to the youth's face as he started the new world, letting his eyes shut as he dove.

The next time he opened his eyes, a horrified grin docked Kiriya's face as he descended the night sky at immense speed. He had never felt anything like it before, the ultra-realistic sensation of falling.
I-incredible, is this the Terrasphere people often talk about? Is this really a game? He thought to himself.
When he looked down, Kiriya saw miles of forests beneath his feet. Was that where he was going to fall to and begin his new life?
It couldn't have been that simple... For, the space around him ruptured as astral slits appeared where he was, suctioning him into the narrow opening where it felt as though the youth stretched endlessly until it ejected his body out of thin air.
He was in Tertus Valley.
"Argh!" Kiriya fought against the force that violently hurled his body down toward a mountain. Without footing, however, he was merely a physics ragdoll going through the motion as momentum dictated.
BOOM!
Kiriya crashed into the side of the mountain, kicking up a cloud of dust in the process. When the veil of dust cleared, the youth stood up, seemingly unscathed thanks to the brief few seconds of invulnerability he got the moment he entered the game. The status, however, was flashing rapidly, warning him of its expiration as terrible screeches pierced the clouds above. Ascent Reaper.
The swordless swordsman narrowed his eyes at the bunch of Reapers heading right for him.
"Hah... So that's how this shit game is going to play, huh?"
He was fucked.

Easy Picking. The person with the lowest Reflex score take an extra 15 Retal each cycle the avians are still alive (the extra Retal does not apply on the turn the birds are killed). If there is a tie, compare Fortitude, and then Will.
