"Big, has fur, but has feathers, and it bites as hard as it beaks... What kind of stupid description is that?! Why are humans so stubborn about talking in enigmatic ways?!" The small fairy huffed while hovering near Max's shoulder, annoyed and angry.
"It doesn't matter, as long as we pluck all the feathers and shear all of its fur with a lot of ass-kicking, we will get the loot and the reward too." Max said, with his arms folded behind his head and with the big crystal sword crossing his back while sheathed, albeit ready to be used at any moment that it proved to be necessary.
Approaching the base of the mountain, the group of adventurers came to a halt, with their guide once again giving the instructions for this particular mission: They had to go in pairs into the mountain, in order to find the dire creature that had been causing a disruption in the ecossystem by becoming an overwhelming predator that no other creature is managing to deal with, so they had to cover as much ground as possible.

"... And that's how it is... Upon finding the creature, no one is allowed to play hero and try to fight it by themselves. Head back and report to me. When you hear the horn, it means we found the creature's lair and we go bring it down together. Understood?"
There was one or another mumbling, but after a fierce glare, a collective 'understood!' brought a smirk on the man's face.

"Perfect. Now take your duo and good luck."

"Ugh-- Do we really need to fight with all of these guys? Our reward will be so little if we have to divide it with all of them..." She pouted.
Max rolled his eyes. "You got a point. But it doesn't matter either, we just need to find the monster first and beat it down before anyone else." He shrugged, ignoring what the guide had just recommended, before turning to @Imoogi, that seemed to be lone during most of their travel.
"Hey, do you want to go find that dumbass in the forest together?" He pointed with his thumb to the depths of the mountain.

"What?! What are you doing?" She exclaimed.
"Finding a duo?" He frowned.

"You stupid monkey, you have me. ME! You don't need a duo!"
"You don't count, you can't fight at all, so that guy will think I'm cheating."

"WHAT?! I'm the one that makes your weapon worth anything, you little bra-"
"So, what do you say?" Max ignored the fairy, looking at the snake girl.
