Amy allowed Magnolia to guide her, then carefully took a seat. It's not like she didn't want to get a ride to Falderen soon, but she thought that a talk was more important right now, so that is what she prioritized.
"Guiding me to Zalra when my family should be near the border to Zalra would be equivalent to guiding me to my family, wouldn't it? Have I misunderstood your intentions?
"... Also, joking?" That confused Amy... Was this something one should joke about? It was a... Somewhat frustrating statement, "I believe it might not be the best of ideas to make jokes about things people need to plan themselves around... It can lead to unnecessary stress." Amy sighed. So much for that... Seems like I was worrying over nothing.
Then, she thought a bit about Magnolia's next words, "So, you are saying that it is important to be cautious, but at times you should just trust what your heart tells you?
"... I suppose that does make sense. I met my family, and especially my husband, by chance, and if I hadn't trusted them when I did, I would have become a thrall of Zalrea instead of a servant of lady Rhiannon. Sometimes it is better to just hear your heart and trust those that you believe are trustworthy." Then, after a slight pause, she added, "And I hope that whoever ruined your life has met the appropriate retribution for their actions." Perhaps she could have said more, like how she was sorry to hear of it, but this was most likely an old wound that did not need much rekindling, so Amy chose not to.
Magnolia's next words confused Amy though... "I believe I need some clarification... Do you wish to escort me all the way to Zalra or were you joking when you suggested it?" Then, she sighed once more, "I do not really have it handled. My family helped me plan the route, but this is still the first time since I lost my eyes that I have been traveling by myself for any meaningful amount of time.
"I managed to get here safely, but that doesn't mean I will manage to get back... And will I even be able to find my family then? What if something happened and they had to move away earlier than planned? They might no longer be easy to find from the border with Falderen... And they might not be able to afford leaving someone behind to guide me to their new settlement.
"There are a lot of uncertainties... I just thought that this trip was worth the risk." And that I was the most expendable person there, so the better person for the job, "Which was a misguided assumption on my end, but I do not regret coming here."
Amy took another deep breath, "In other words... I certainly would appreciate help going back home... There were just some things that worried me, and I suppose even I have limits in how much I wish to be a burden to others... Even if being a burden is my natural state of being."
