Kyra had squinted her eyes as the light grew stronger the further along the hallway they moved. She slunk in behind Fiora more - as much to protect her eyesight using the other woman's form, as to use the physical size as a barrier should anything occur. The hammering had continued, rhythmically, with each step, as if pulling them forwards towards whatever waited their arrival.

I'm here...just...keep going, we're almost there.

She had glanced around the form of the other in order to get a quick view ahead of them. She could see, against the blinding light, the doorframe only steps away. Squinting against the light - which now that Kyra glanced at it, seemed to shimmer and wave slightly - she guided them forwards as best as she could.

Seconds that felt like moments passed, and suddenly Kyra and Fiora were inside a room that, for all purposes, appeared to be the light of the lighthouse itself; a small spinning mirror reflecting a white-light fire in the centre, shinning out into the world for all to see. Belatedly, Kyra noticed that they were beneath the light, a staircase leading upwards off to the far side of the room they had entered.

Alright that's...hey! Where's the door?!

She'd glanced behind herself to confirm their escape route was still viable, only to find a glass panelled wall where the door had been. Looking around, she confirmed there was no doorway on any of the other glass panelled walls that made up the circular room's walls and ceiling.

Something comes crawling...crawling...crawling...it comes into our home...crawling, like the insect it is...always crawling...

The voice, heavily masculine and deep, seemed to whisper beside Kyra, causing the fox to jump with a start and spin to her right, only to find empty air. Before she could say anything aloud in response, however, a higher pitched male voice, different from the first, spoke out from in front of Fiora - the air empty of any form, and yet clearly the source of the voice itself.

Crawling...? No...it rolls, it squeals, it placates...it does not crawl...crawling is too good for it...lowly, lowly thing...why does it come? Why is it here? What does it want from us?

Her steps grew heavier as Kyra responded, determined now in her advance towards the light, teeth gritted and an arm shielding her eye as a doorframe got closer and closer in view. This pull, as if gravity itself centered towards this door like a black hole sucking in any poor fool close enough... It made her hesitate.

It was too late to resist, however. Their struggles concluded in a pearly white room where a pale flame acted as the beacon at the very top of the lighthouse. A glance across the area didn't offer much other than what the mirror's function is, at least until she turned to face up, where the light 'truly' was at: Above.

Turning back, Fiora eyed the door- Or rather, the glass that replaced it, as Kyra protested on their escape route being dusted. "Ready yourself..." It was clear they could only make it out by getting to the bottom of this, or die trying.

And trouble didn't take long to arrive, opposite voices whispered to them both, Fiora spinning on her heel to face forth only to find no ghost to cut through. No shadows were cast beyond their own, and yet the very nothingness spoke to them. The high and low pitches made it clear this is no singular ghost, or perhaps an amalgamation come to life.

They spoke as if neither of them existed, and despite there being nothing but a breeze infront of her, Fiora stepped backwards, slowly, as to close the gap between Kyra and herself, always making sure to have the fox close before anything else.

{ Keep the stairs in mind. } She whispered within the Fox's head, not making eye contact with the woman. Her gut told her they would materialize should they show weakness in the first place. { If we have to fight them and they prove to be invulnerable, then we aim for the light. } There's always something anchoring spirits to the overworld, and as far as she can tell... These wouldn't be so easily persuaded like the last one.

No, they were no victims like the last one. They speak with disdain instead of sorrow.

Instead of trying to talk sense to them, Fiora begun to slowly move sideways, heading towards the walls of the room in direction to the stairway that lead upwards, tightening the grip on her blade.

Kyra's eyes had already lifted to the stairs by the time the voice was in her head, eyeing the distance and considering moving. The only thing that help her in place was the sudden touch of Fiora, the confirming that the Elfen woman was still there behind and beside her, frantically looking for anything that could be considered a threat. Kyra, in turn, forced herself to breath deeply, pushing aside the feeling of distress and focusing on the instance they were facing.

Fear...it is afraid...I smell fear...is it afraid...? Why...is it afraid...does it have...something to fear...?

The heavily masculine voice seemed to chime in again, each time it spoke seemingly having moved from one side of Kyra's hearing to the other, as if shifting around the room continuously. It was dizzying, in a way that reminded her of spinning in place. She felt her ears twitch in agitation, and a small curl of her lip as she felt a growl growing in her throat.

Fear...is that fear...? I smell...resilience...frustration...it is frustrated...annoyed at us...? Should we give it...time...time again...is it play...time?

Another voice joined the chorus, this one feminine and somehow playful in Kyra's perception of it. It seemed to swirl on the air, dancing around her in a similar fashion of the other two; but where they were pitched and stoic, this voice reminded her of a playful companion - with a dangerous edge.

Fiora...should we...should we do something...?

The scythe was in her hand, the chain jingling slightly as it moved. She'd missed it at first with the voices taking her by surprise, but she felt a sudden pulling sensation as the scythe seemed to yearn towards the trio, pulling as if to join them.

Familiar...familiar...I sense it...has it returned to us...? Has it come...home...to us...? I sense it...sense!

The voice seemed to grow with excitement and agitation, and Kyra found herself pulling the scythe back in towards herself, as if pulling something precious to her closer. Almost at once, the shadowy forms appeared, shifting into view around Fiora and Kyra, a triangle formation that always placed at last one behind. The forms seemed sexless in appearance, with an air of violence surrounding them.

Fiora...

Kyra could sense the coming danger, and felt the scythe raise in response, pulled in close but ready to lash out and shove the shadows back if they came too close.

There was something to be said about the pinching sensations each voice manifested, an annoyance at the back of her mind. Ghosts always carried something from their former selves it seemed, as each of these pictured a different person with their tones, their attitudes, and the glee of a particulary vicious one that seemed directed to Kyra.

With the fox's concerns weighing on her shoulders and no clear opening, Fiora took a step back to brace herself. Their words seemed to carry an almost supernatural effect, one she wasn't sure how well equipped Kyra would be to face in comparison.

{ Count to two and charge. Cover me and I'll do the same. } Her voice warns, both to acknowledge and prepare as shadows begun to dance in a formation around them. Their shapes betrayed any humanity left beyond that of four limbs and a head, but now they were visible, and hopefully just as easy to cut through as the real deal.

One second passed, her gauntlet tightened it's grasp across the flaming blade, it's fire dancing across her armor and reaching for the left arm, taking on a round shape...

Two seconds, Fiora charged forth, hiding her upper body behind a pyromantic shield, bullrushing straight against Fear, bashing it's form away with a burst of fire exploding on impact pushing it's ghastly form away to break their triangle formation and push the attention to herself.

The voice in her head almost went missed with how focused Kyra was on the shadows around them. Barely visible beings that seemed to shift and flow, like smoke on the wind. Kyra nodded belatedly, counting to a single digit before throwing herself into motion, letting her natural feelings take over any sort of actual planning on her own part.

The scythe came up in a twirl, and Kyra found herself pushing outwards with it in a natural manner - using the bottom of the weapon in an almost drawing motion, as if trying to bring something to life before her. It was only after the fact of motion that she realised she'd automatically dropping into her spellweaving, releasing the energy required as easily as she breathed.

This things are...we can hurt them!

Kyra called out as her image appeared before her, a poor rendition of herself that failed to dissuade the creature lashing out towards her, but managed to sear away some of it's form as the thing recoiled in sudden pain. Kyra couldn't help but glance to the side, noticing for the first time that the other two were being held at bay - if not by their sudden movement, than by a realisation that their encounter may not be nearly as painless as the apparitions first thought.

Let's finish these things off then...maybe that will lift the curse?

Their physical forms suffered in contact with their weapons, be it because of magic within the scythe itself, Kyra's, or her own's, they suffered all the same, and they did once ghoulish shrieks escaped their wretched forms, screams that came from the stomach rather than the throat, despite them lacking in either.

"Be prepared for the worst if not." Fiora shouted back to Kyra as the fox showcased bravery unlike the last past hour or so. With good reason: They were not helpless in the face of adversity anymore, yet she couldn't disregard how more could be awaiting for them past these three.

So the greenette charged once again, taking focus on the same spectre of Fear, with the magical shield vanished and all of it's power focused across the edge of her blade instead. Sharp, supernatural claws collided with the sword, dragged around as they screeched and deflected the blow way past herself, cleaving through the shadows once from side to side, switching her grip to let the blade descend over Fear, raw magic granting power where her muscles did not in speed's favour, relentless advance forcing the ghost to back off as fire crawled over the floors, packing the three of them together.

A perfect spot to strike all at once.

"Give them no quarter."

The sound of Fiora's voice, calling out to her and confirming that they were continuing their assault, was all Kyra needed. She resisted the urge to turn around, instead watching as the shadowy figure before her seemed to shift and move on the spot, as if eyeing up the fox-girl for any openings. Kyra waited patiently, the scythe in hand, knowing full well that she wasn't a strong enough combatant to take the fight to the other.

Come on...come on...come and get me, you...whatever you are...

The shadowy figure seemed to pause, as if considering it's next action - or perhaps preparing itself to launch forward. Kyra kept a close eye on it's arms, remembering that it had lashed out with those last time. She was just considering shifting her attention when the strike came - a suddenly movement that signalled the thing was trying to grab her. Her own body moved quickly, bringing the scythe up and creating a secondary image of herself.

The sudden appearance of a secondary beastfolk seemed enough to set the shadow off balance, giving Kyra time to lash out with the scythe and tear into it's side, causing it to howl in pain.

It was time to change tactics for her. Kyra proved she could handle herself just fine once she settled the battle's pace by her terms, and the spirits knew no better as their claws could barely reach the beastfolk in the first place.

Fiora focused on the unscatched one thus far, or rather, the one neither of them hasn't been pummeling just yet. Instinct told her ghosts don't flee, and if there were something else backing them up, it should already have shown it's face (or lack of). Her blade leveled towards it's new target, she chose to be safe than sorry.

Minimizing the use of magic, her sword's swings trailed with magic despite being barely visible, aiming for center mass on the spectre. Far more careless in motion despite her eye being bullseye and her body, despite lacking in carefulness now, still kept little commitment behind. In the end it was which saved her possibly losing her only eye left as Flirty decided to trade blows instead of simply taking it like the rest.

She lifted her left hand, gauntlet ready to take the strike head on, but even the armor failed to protect against the unnatural cuts that went deep into the armor. It was a bruise, and far from a painful one, with the followup being blocked bluntly with her weapon itself and forcing her to back off two steps, before returning to a Schluessel stance.

Everything had been going well, so far, and Kyra couldn't help but feel the moment of elation as she realised that she wasn't just holding her own on the field of battle - she was actually managing to overpower the shadowy figures before her. She could see Fiora, out of the corner of her eye, lashing out at the two others, managing to keep them off Kyra's form for the time being. It allowed her to focus on the single entity before her, who had begun to realise that rushing in towards Kyra may not be the best method of attack.

Kyra followed it as it circled slightly to the left and right, searching for an opening in her defences that she wasn't willing to give it. She trusted Fiora to keep the other two pre-occupied, giving her time to focus on just the one in front of her. She's a far more experienced combatant, I think she can handle it...but still...

There was a slight feeling of regret as she left Fiora to the other two apparitions, a feeling like she wasn't doing enough. Her distraction gave the shadowy figure an opening, however, and the sudden chilling feeling that rushed up her caused her to leap back with a start - her weave lashing out in the last instance and turning the shadow into a puff of smoke that dissipated into nothingness.

That's...one down!

Poised, Fiora took a step back as she fought in a much more reserved manner. With two foes that could strike at her in a blink of an eye, while her own darted from one to the other. They had grown tactical, wary almost, as the three of them found their numbers weren't enough.

With the fading cries of a vanquished spirit and Kyra standing tall from her encounter, Fiora warped the fires into one raging smite, striking down in one swing the already weakened ghost. Kyra's presence was enough to put their last opponent in the defensive, their claws barely scraping through the cuirass she wore. A dent, nothing but a scratch. Yet without the will to risk for more, Fiora stepped backwards and re-grouped with the fox.

"Having fun?" She commented after giving Kyra a quick glance up and down, checking for any wounds. Some here and there, yet prestine all things considered. "Keep up the pressure, we have the advantage now." She couldn't commend the fox just yet, not until they were done with this Lighthouse. Overconfidence would crush them if they gave in an inch to it. Lowering the tip of her blade to the ground akin to the Fool's Guard, Fiora prepared for their next move, giving Kyra the space to swing her scythe while being close enough should she need assistance.

Kyra had turned to watch as Fiora had dropped the second shadow into oblivion, feeling a moment of elation as the final shadow seemed to hesitate and slide backwards slightly. She couldn't help but think that it was almost too easy, as if there was little challenge to the fight. Maybe don't complai-

Her thought was cut off as the shadow seemed to shrink and disappear from sight, almost immediately. Turning to Fiora, Kyra couldn't help but smile and give a half-swing of her scythe, feeling as if they'd already accomplished everything they had come to do.

Well...that was simple enough. I guess I can head back and-

The echoing wail cut off whatever she had been about to say, and Kyra found herself being flung across the room as something slammed into her. She felt herself dazed and confused, laying on the ground and staring up at a figure of ethereal appearance, the thing covered in what looked like chains and scars, hovering over Fiora as it prepared itself for another strike.

Ow...heal!

She reached out with her left hand, forcing the energy into herself and Fiora, closing over the few wounds that had opened up. Forcing herself to her feet, using the scythe for leverage, Kyra shook her head and called out to Fiora.

Fiora...careful...thing hurts...

It had been easy. Simple, as Kyra called. Too much, and the victory felt bitter, almost deceitful: Ghosts feel no pain, no remorse, no fear. As she glances onto the floor it just sank into, Her face twisted with a glare, the sudden movement caught her attention, as Kyra was sent against the furthermost walls of the snow-white room, and before her was the visage of a creature far beyond what they faced thus yet.

It's sharp tendrils ready like a guillotine, meeting against her sword as Fiora tried to prepare herself to pad an attack to no avail. Lacerations pierced through her armor as if it were made out of paper, yet not a droplet of blood could fall as the fox's magic had springed to action, and so as it opens it closes, even if the force it packed left some bruises as the elf rolled over the floor, stumbling back to her feet as she tried to recover her bearings.

A hand pressed against her left side, only to notice scratches at best where she expected her guts to be spilling. Immediately her eye went over to Kyra, sincerely grateful with but a short nod, as the glaring eye focused back on the spectre itself. "I know, it's why we don't play risky now. Follow my pace and find it's weak point!" Given her lacking healing prowess right now, Fiora lowered her guard, tilting the sword up as it pointed back to the ghost, thrusting her blade through the floor and lifting it out as flames coated it entirely, stretching past it's length as she swung both pyromancy and steel alike to strike from afar, the flames digging and biting into the ghastly essence of the spirit.

She'd picked herself up from the ground slowly, far too slowly for the conflict that had begun to erupt. Kyra could feel the pain from the assault - a reminder to her that she'd nullified the pain limiters in the game - searing through her side. Everything hurt in a way that she couldn't even describe, and yet she felt like there was still more to do.

Shit...Fiora, I'll cover us! Can you handle this thing?

She called out to the Elfen even as she began her weaving, letting her hands flow in front of her as she called upon the healing energy again and let it rush out between the two of them, putting more force into the burst. She focused the majority of the energy upon herself, knowing that it was vital to keep the two of them as high as she could. Even if it's not focused on me...I can't become a liability. She eyed the ghost, wondering just how dangerous of a fight they had ahead of them.

Fox...! Come to me!

Kyra called out suddenly, summoning the small, winter fox that she had encountered not so long ago, watching as the thing sprung into existence from the shadows and latched onto the ghost's figure for a second.

Ha! That should help a bit!

"We'll find out." She replied under her breath, as her own Share Emotions triggered as wrath begun to burst not like fire but napalm on the spirit's soul. If anything, this would only turn bad for herself. On the other hand, it meant she had it's full attention, keeping Kyra out of harm's way.

This time however, she felt the blade just not connect as it should, the strike almost whiffing had there be no magic to keep the ghastly target materialized enough to slice through it, and even then, the same bite she could feel inflicted on herself just then, as if harming the spirit forced karmic retribution on her. It rends her flesh all the same as the vindictive spirit pays back with the same fury she retaliated with. Both power and restraint felt like a mimic of herself.

Just now she was at the other end of the deal, the wound cauterized as soon as it happened. It didn't stop the pain from pushing her off-balance, enough to leave herself at the mercy of their foe. Even the wounds that Kyra had closed no long ago had now been re-opened in full.

"Not good." She groaned, lifting her blade up as a last ditch attempt to keep her head safe at the very least from what's coming, only to find the ghost rushing through her, leaving her unharmed as the fox familiar latched onto it. Not about to stay frozen in spot and let the vixen's efforts go to waste, Fiora quickly stood back up on her feet and stumbled away from the lighthouse's spirit, reverting to a high guarded stance.

"Thanks." She said, glancing back at Kyra over her shoulder. "Think you can do that one more time..?" It was worth asking, if only to try and coordinate to get a better hit in.

They were making progress, and yet somehow Kyra felt like Fiora was more concerned than she had been a few moments ago. There was tension in the Elfen's frame that hadn't been there last time Kyra had glanced her way, and a strain to the voice as it asked her a question.

Yeah...yeah I think I can. I'm going to focus it all on you though...I don't think it cares about me right now.

She flicked her hands and summoned forth the energy she needed in order to close the wounds on Fiora's form, watching as the spiritual energy connected between herself and Fiora. She could see it as small tendrils of violet light, streaming between the two of them and into Fiora's core.

Shit...that takes a lot...

"Don't get too close just in case. We don't know for how long." It's an advantage they can hold against it. Yet unlike the last three spirits, this one seemed to act far more on instinct akin to a beast than how she expects a ghost to.

Second wind came through as Kyra focused entirely on closing her wounds. If only to be ripped open again in battle. The only thing she would need to endure is pain, so long as the fox has energy left, which the struggle on her voice made it obvious this wouldn't be the case if she didn't act carefully. Magic so powerful it was visible as it connected between the two of them probably had a toll on the woman.

Last resorts were needed here.

"Here, catch!" Fiora shouted, yanking off one of the trinkets around her belt, concealed beneath the cloak, before throwing it in Kyra's direction. A small, flat crystal with a rune carved on it's face. "Crush it." The last word she could grant, voice revitalized now as she ended up on a tug o' war with the spirit, it's claws digging onto her sword's edge as much as Fiora's did. Veins bulging, flames begun to wrap akin to a bonfire on her hands and wrists alike as she roared, pushing the Lighthouse's soul amalgama away before delivering a strike against it's face with the crossguard as she swung the blade as a baseball bat, letting the hilt and pommel alike work as a blunt weapon.

The runestone glows eagerly. Sensitive to the touch, as if it was barely holding itself together like a cracked glass. It yearns to be crushed, and in doing so releasing magic in a burst to restore a bulk of the EN Meter that Kyra had lost. Essentially, a battery recharge for magic users,

She swayed on her feet as the rush of energy leaving her suddenly caught up, leaving Kyra feeling somewhat unbalanced and dizzy. She barely heard the words, seeing the motion through a blur, as Fiora tossed something her way. She raised a hand to catch the item, barely grasping it as it nearly sailed past her and into the wall behind.

Huh...?

Almost belatedly, her mind caught up with the directions she'd been given. Crushing the piece in her hand, she felt a sudden rush of energy return to her, and her vision cleared almost instantly.

Wow...I need those.

Seeing the unleashed havoc that was the battle field, Kyra turned to Fiora and released a burst of energy into the Elfen - seeing at the last second as the ghostly figure lashed out with one of the chains, slamming into her and causing her to reel to the side slightly.

Not cool...!

Taking a deep breath, Fiora allowed for Kyra's powers to settle in and close the flesh wounds torn open, leaving no scars present. This little window gave an opening to the ghost to lash out at Kyra, much to her disdain and the fox's surprise.

Without a second more to hesitate, Fiora sheathed her blade in preparation for the next chain lashing, positioning herself between the spirit and her partner as her hands stretched out to grasp on the ghastly chain; It bites on contact, despite the leather and metal padding her gauntlets offer, yet it also gave them an opportunity to retaliate as liquid fire begun to spread over through the chains, rapidly approaching the lighthouse spectre. They would combust once they made contact.

But it didn't, as instead they were snuffed out entirely and the spirit begun to tug against her, baring her fangs at that skeletal visage, only to unwrap and let go of the chains once she was dragged half-way the distance between them both, retreating over to Kyra.

"Something's happening, be ready." Fiora warned, quickly unsheathing Last Hope yet again.

Kyra nodded towards the warning, pulling herself back into a readied stance and placing the scythe between herself and the banshee like creature. She wasn't sure what to make of the warning - something's coming, but what? - and she found herself glancing all around the area in hopes of finding a clue towards their possible threat.

I...I don't see anything, do you?

She called out as she continued to look. When nothing immediately jumped out towards them, Kyra decided to take advantage of the situation - pushing the healing energy outwards and into their wounds, closing over the wounds that had been opened once more.

At least...she's giving us a bit of a break, eh?

Fiora turned around, facing each direction properly as to not leave herself on an awful position, and yet, regardless of how many fundamentals she holds right now, that's what they are in as the spectre suddently disappeared. It's presence, however, didn't, which is proof of it being far from gone.

It gave some breathing room for Kyra at the very least, yet the same can't be said for herself, as the uncertainty lingering around was concerning. Ears flickered as the only sign that she heard her out, despite not wishing to reply in order to keep herself focused.

The spirit erupted from beneath the floor, poised to strike at the second Fiora immediately turned back to face it. She expected a swipe rather than the very chains used to whip Kyra with, her blade aimed a little too high for such a low blow that struck her midriff once, the impact enough to push her back one step as she recoiled from the pain and the blood, now but a taste in her mouth. The second strike, however.

That one she could intercept, using her gauntlets yet again to wrap it around, her left hand giving a powerful yank to the chain and throwing the spectre off-balance as she swung it on a wide arc, releasing just as it would undoubtly smash against one of the nearest walls.
