It was a quiet and sunny day. Brutus found himself somewhere new, his feet having caught a severe case of wanderlust and brought him here to Pormont. In truth, he'd never been out this way because most work didn't take him out this way. Most job listings for Portmont were basic chores, the minor quests that revolved around you dragging X mguffin to Y NPC in order to get Z, who you took to Mr. A for B. Brutus wasn't keen on trade chains or shoeing horses, but this land had a sense of idyllic beauty to it. Waves of golden grain swayed in the breeze, the sky was bright blue with nary a cloud in the sky. It was wide and open, free of potential goblin ambushes or threat of wolves.

Yawning, the Giant checked his UI to make sure all of his bars were properly taken care of. He would never know when he would need to make use of his masteries, get into a tussle, or need to stop and chow down on some grub. Life as the up and coming hero of the people tended to be like that. Munching on an apple he'd picked back in Brisshal, he mused what sort of adventure he would get up to today, if any at all.

It was if she was in a sea of the sun, everything was a yellow kind of gold. After awhile, it would make her vision blurry. The blurred vision never stopped Lucy however, as she kept on going out to see new things. Just so she would have something to show to Haru or Brutus next time they hung out. Both of them would be most excited to discover the last secret she had found and Lucy had every intention of taking both of them to it.

Yet as she was walking into the village her otherwise golden vision was interfered by something definitely out of the picture. The tall, hunkering man of supreme justice! BRUTUS! Stood off on the side of the road munching an apple. Giving a mischievous smile, Lucy would sneak up on him. Flaring her magic up at just the right moment to make the apple grow to ten times it's size in his hand!

She would peek out from behind the NPC she had stayed behind to remain out of his sight. "There! Now your apple matches your size!" She let out a light giggle before running out from behind the NPC. She leaped into the air and threw herself at Brutus to hug him. In order to catch her so she didn't fall on her face he would have to temporarily drop the apple.

The giant casually discarded his large apple and scooped the small woman up into the air with one arm, giving her a one armed hug and a quick twirl as he spun her about the air like a rag doll. He'd smelled her from about a mile away, heard her approaching, but the sneaky stealthyness of her approach made him want to play along. After two or three spins, he would set the small redhead down and let her recover from her dizzyness before chuckling a bit.

"Yo Lucy! What brings you out here eh?" He would ask with a grin and a raised eyebrow. The last place he'd seen her was Dunstadds with Haru, on a hunt for sunken secrets in the sandy beach. He would steady himself for a moment, then adjust his jacket. A nice breeze blew through, rustling his hair and sending his jacket fluttering dramatically in the wind. It seemed like fate had something in store for them today.

Being scooped up in one arm, Lucy's head was in the perfect position to eye the massive apple. She silently watched as it began to roll down the hill.... It's destination.. Lucy grimaced before the spinning began from Brutus.

Wooziness was the one emotion that flooded Lucy's body as she was set down, the stumbling instantly beginning. "W-Woooaahhh..." Lucy held out her arms to try and keep her balance, failing yet succeeding. She hadn't fallen over yet, but she was still swaying like a madman.

"I was trying to find new secrets to show you and Haru.. But it seems you had similar ideas?" Her eyebrows raised back at , her dizziness finally coming to a stop before she suddenly remembered the giant apple. "W-WAIT!" She would quickly move past Brutus to see a horrific sight. The barn that the apple had been heading towards had a hole, in the shape of... an apple. Lucy covered her mouth, "Oopsies....."

Her small shoulders shuddered, "That's gonna be a pain to explain.... Best let me do the talking." She patted Brutus' stomach (it being one of the only things she could reach) before she began to walk towards the barn. "If anyone asks, it wasn't our apple."

Brutus turned to watch his dropped apple speed down the hill and smash into a barn. Blinking, he turned to Lucy who seemed ready and willing to sort this whole sort of affair out. Nodding, he would simply pat her head and follow after her. Well, follow was a rather difficult sell, he more like...walked very slowly behind her doing his best not to outpace her. One of his steps was likely worth four or five of hers, and at anything other than a leisurely pace he would likely smoke her down the hill and to the barn. Hell, he could practically go there and back before she made it halfway to their location. By the time they made it to the barn, Brutus realized a slight problem. Several pairs of tracks were leading out of their apple shaped hole, hopefully nothing super important had escaped, but he had the sneaking feeling this was the start of a quest.

"Alright, what's the plan Lu?"

Arriving at the barn, Lucy placed her hands on her hips. "Good question.. That's something I have not decided yet..." Lucy bit her lip inspecting the damage. It was the noticed by her ears of the sounds of an old woman coming out of the hole.

Lifting her face from the floor to the grandma's face, she waved lightly. The old woman was breathing heavy, panic lacing her voice.

"Travelers help me! Please! A giant apple crashed into my barn! All of my seven kitties escaped! Please help me find them, I couldn't bear it if they got hurt..."

Lucy glanced at Brutus giving him a silent expression, as if to say 'don't mention the apple'. Lucy smiled at the woman, "Of course we can help, how odd for an apple to randomly crash into your barn. How big was it?" Lucy and Brutus were then ushered into the barn. Taking a glance, it was definitely Brutus's apple, "What are you going to do with it?"

Something about not being able to lift it, and the fact that i was bitten into, Lucy got the jist of her reply. Nudging Brutus she smiled, "We can offer to take that apple off your hands as well, as it stands this man here is pretty muscular. He could probably lift it no problemo! As for the wall..." Lucy turned to face the wall, using her magic to connect the wood together, making it appear as if there was never a hole to begin with.

The only problem was that where the hole was, there was no paint. Lucy turned to the woman, "We'll go looking for those sweet kitties now, won't we Brutus?" She smiled at Brutus, "After all, this is Brutus! Hero of the people! And I'm Lucy! I would do anything to help out, especially if it involves cute fluffy creatures."

Brutus would keep the apple hefted carefully, holding it by the stem that was now practically a small log at this point. The cats had made their great escape, a jail break that he had helped facilitate. A certain amount of guilt lingered in his gut, but that would be easily assuaged by hunting them down and returning them to their barn nest. Yawning, he would take a bit out of the magically enhanced apple, feeling the energy course through him as he swallowed like a jolt.

That fucker packed a punch.

Apple safely tucked away into his inventory, the giant squatted down and glanced at the various small pitter-pattering tracks leading from the place where the hole had once been. Seven tracks, leading off into seven different directions. It looked like there work was going to be cut out for them. Cracking his fingers, the giant rose to his feet and took a deep breath.

"How do you want to go about this, we've got seven paths, all in different directions."

Lucy moved nimbly, yet slowly in comparison to Brutus. She pushed her neck forward, taking a bite for herself from the apple that Brutus was holding onto. "Mmmm, it's yummy!" Lucy wiped her lips before studying the tracks. "I'll be honest, I suck at tracking. Let's follow them left to right so we don't forget which one we've already done!" Looking at the track, Lucy crouched there unmoving.

This lasted several more moments before she let out a sigh, "I'm hopeless..." That was until the endless grains of wheat began to sway and speak to her... Looking for the kittens, right? I can show you the way, right? Which one first, right? Lucy laughed at the way that the grains were talking.

The grains wouldn't know she was laughing at them, and to anyone that wasn't a piece of wheat, they would think she were crazy. "If you wanna follow the tracks, I'll keep up with you." The grains began to shake again, The well, right? That's the first kitten, right?

Lucy struck her hands on her hips, "The wheat says the first one is at the well, though I have no clue where that is. Let's gooooo!" Lucy placed her hands back to her side before letting Brutus take the lead.

"The Well?" Brutus asked, cocking his head to the side. He wasn't suprised the grain was talking to her, that seemed like a reasonably druidic thing to happen, and this was a fantasy game, instead he simply followed the left most path and let the grain speak to him in a way that only he could see and hear. "Follow me." The small pitter patter of feline paws brought him on a path, walking carefully through the fields of grain so he wouldn't trample the crop to the ground. After a moment, he found the well in a small clearing in the field.

The planning on that didn't really make sense, but the giant wasn't going to argue. Instead, he was sniffing the air looking for the scent of the lost cat. His nose twitched a bit, and he found himself stomping towards the well to find the lost kitten dangling from the rope leading down to the bucket.

"Well..." the giant drawled. "That's one."

The wheat had spoken to her! "Yes the well!" Lucy clapped with glee, "Let's get a move on slow poke!" She would proceed to run past Brutus as soon as the well was in sight. The wheat being unaffected by her footsteps, a blessing for sure to be a child of nature.

She had made it to the well first but she hadn't noticed the kitty. That was all Brutus for when he finally dragged up to the crib he just leaned down scooped up the tiny thing and counted it as the first. "Where's your wristband? You can't hold the cat if you don't have a wristband..." She shook her wrist at him, making a reference to one of the memes in the real world. Something about wristbands that had turned into a song or something?

Lucy pet the top of the kitties head, "He's so soft! And cuddly.. Ugh I want one." Lucy couldn't wait till they found the next one so she could hold one for herself. "Alright big guy, where to next?"

Brutus didn't quite get the joke, but he wouldn't reveal that to his companion for right now, instead he just chuckled slightly. "I see,"

One cat scooped under his arm, the giant and the druid wandered back to the farm where they started. He would keep his eyes glued to the ground, whilst idly petting the kitten. He would set the cat gently on Lucy's shoulder as he trotted about. Once back to the nexus of kitten trails, he would begin his way down path number two. He had a sneaking suspicion that it was going to be a long day of cat hunting.

He would, like a bloodhound, sniff out the next cat, carefully walking through the field. This one, it would appear, had decided to HAUL ASS. After a couple minutes, he heard a slight mewling, and looked up to find a small black kitten sitting atop a scarecrow., The poor thing seemed to have gotten stuck on its head, trembling with sheer terror as the scarecrow gently swayed in the breeze. "Well then, that's number two."

Happy with the cat now on her shoulders, the sun was no longer the brightest thing in the world. The brightest thing happened to be the expression that lined Lucy's face. NODDERS

Brutus was an animal, not literally, but he really did act like one. Lucy half expected him to drop down on all fours and start mooing like a cow. Chuckling at the thought, Lucy kept their walk in silence save for the occasional meow from the fluffball on her shoulder.

It didn't take long for the two to arrive at the next kitty, one that was black on the top of a scarecrow. Lucy instantly reached for this one, though she wasn't tall enough... "Bruuutusss... Heeelllppp" Brutus would snag the kitty with ease, delivering it to her outstretched hands. Lucy began soothing the wee little black kitty.

"Alright! I'll take the lead now sir!" She began heading to where her gut was telling her. Voices screaming at her to move faster. Moving as fast as she could without the kitty falling off her shoulder she burst into an area that had been hidden behind a hill. There sat a kitten cowering in the corner... A drooling wolf hovering above her, about to eat her alive. "DO SOMETHING BRUTUS!"

The woman had taken off like a bolt, two kittens clutched tightly. She'd declared she'd take the lead, but he didn't think she meant in terms of a race. He would lightly jog in order to keep up with her, he could tell by her posture and facial expression that something was off. Bounding down the path to the bottom of a hill, he found the problem the woman had inexplicably known about. A wolf slobbering over an abandonned cat. There was a slight problem, if he used his canon he ran the risk of hurting the ears of the poor kittens, potentially deafening them, and if he swung he might go too wide and hit the cat.

"Shit!" The giant growled. How could he possibly save this-oh, this would be easy. The creature paid him little mind, eying its soon to be fancy feast, stalking forward, but that would be a mistake. The Giant pointed one singular finger pistol at the hound and uttered the word "Bang."

A bolt of flame shot out of his finger and pelted the hound, scorching it's rear and nonlethally sending it scampering off with a yelp as it fled the source of the flame. The Giant would tromp forward and scoop up the third kitten, gently placing it in the breast pocket of his jacket.

"That's number three."

Lucy clutched the black kitten closer to her chest as she heard the sound of a gun going off,
"Since when can you use a finger gun? God you're full of surprises. What else do you got hidden-" Lucy cracked the last half of her question as a joke, she was intending on Brutus to share his secrets with her right off the bat, though it certainly did take her off guard.

The last thing Lucy expected was for a large man such as Brutus to use a finger gun that was quite literally the size of his finger as a foci.
"Was that magic?" She wanted to at least know the science behind the finger gun, maybe the fact that her OOC writer Lily had thrown her into MIT, made her more willing to actually research things.

Either way it didn't matter anymore because they had rescued the third kitten! This one looking like the runt of the litter, it was tiny and obviously very "runt-ish" looking. Not judging the book by its cover, but it was clearly the youngest.

The fact that Brutus had placed it in his jacket pocket was the cutest thing in the world, and Lucy had to stop herself from squealing. A giant holding a kitten in his breast pocket, what a sight to behold.

No other feelings felt, no gut feeling, no tracks, no communication with nature... Lucy had no clue where to go next,
"There doesn't seem to be any tracks or notice as to where the others are, should we head back and take a look at the tracks that we first saw?" Lucy wanted to find the kitties as fast as possible, but if the duo didn't know where to go... Then they surely wouldn't find them before something bad happened!

"The Finger Gun was just a way for me to focus my pyromancy." Brutus replied, blowing on his finger as if to blow away gunsmoke. "I mostly pyromancy by instinct, so it helps to use a focus in order to channel it. Sometimes I use my canon, but I needed to be more precise so..." he made a show of holstering his finger pistol in his pocket and chuckling before looking around.

The tracks went cold here, and it was time to retrace their steps. He would lead Lucy back to the barn, taking small steps as to not leave her smoked in his dust. He would occasionally pat the kitten purring in his pocket, paying it soft little wispy shushing to sooth its panic initially. Scratching its ears he would turn to look at Lucy as they arrived to the nexus of kitten trails, squatting low and looking at them. "We've found three, there are four left, the longer we dally the more ground they gain on us."

Nodding her head in agreement the Faerin would mimic the massive micropp legend with strong, manly arms' behavior. Her finger cocking up and forming a tiny gun, cause her hands were massively small. Releasing a little bit of her magic, a giant ball of green shot from her finger. Jumping in the air with joy she hugged Brutus carefully as to not hurt the black kitty. She then let go, blowing her :FingerSmoke: out.

"I see, cause you didn't wanna hurt the little jellybean." The red-head reached up to give the kitty that was in his pocket a gentle kiss. Follow Brutus back to the barn was easy, the journey seemed faster than before. probably because they were closer this time around. "We could drop off the kitties we have no in the barn first? That way we have more room to carry the rest!"

She would kiss the black kitty in her arms, he seemed a little hurt but he let out a soft purr as she doted on him.

"Dropping them off is better than having to juggle the lil beans and worry about losing a cat in the process of gaining a cat."

Brutus would nod in agreement and pass off his pocket kitten to the redhead, leaving her as the sole carrier of three fur beans. He would peer down at the tracks and begin to concentrate. It was like raising the gain on his ears, soft sounds slowly became louder, he could begin to hear his own heart pumping, then Lucy's as it raced from the sheer rush of holding so many cats. He did his best to focus, sifting through the audio clutter listening for what he was looking for.

Mew.

There's one. To the north, he could hear it skittering and skampering about, safe for now.

Mew.

There's two, this one was purring contentedly, nothing to worry about here.

Hiss

Number three was angry, being confronted with something? He couldn't tell if it was in danger, or if it was the danger. He would straighten up to his full height and crack his neck, turning to Lucy who was hopefully done talking to the old lady, he'd kinda tuned her out. "One of the cats is hissing, might want to double time it."

"Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Meow~ Purrrrrrrrrrr..." The purring that each of the three kittens made would vibrate through Lucy's body. The only thoughts she could have were just how freaking adorable they were. She wanted to just hug them and never let go. Unfortunately that didn't seem to be possible as more kittens needed saving! And these kittens have to go to safety!

Lucy would turn around as Brutus did his thing and she would make her way to the barn where she successfully handed them off with the old lady. Her thanking them, and Lucy saying how she was going out to get the rest. Making her way back to Brutus, she seemed to arrive just a tad bit late from him finishing.

Hearing of the fact that the kitten would be hissing, Lucy's eyes would widen and she would exclaim for Brutus to lead the way. They had to save the kitty before it got hurt, or worse.... died...

Brutus, growing impatient with simply waiting for the small woman to keep pace. They were in turbo mode, and he would need to hurry to prevent any of these cats from getting injured on his accord. He simply reached out, hooked an arm around Lucy's waist and scooped her off her feet unceremoniously as he ran towards where he has zeroed in on the cat hissing.

"Sorry not Sorry Lu."

His feet pounded the earth, trampling grass and wheat beneath his boots indiscriminately.

He stomped along the path and found the cat in question standing upon a rock, fur bristled out as it enlarged itself. Before it was a snake, slithering slowly and lazily towards the cat. Brutus had no way of knowing if the reptile was dangerous, or if the snake was more dangerous to the cat. Either way, he gently set Lucy down and let out a shrill hypersonic whistle at the snake, hoping to scare it away.

WHOOSH! Lucy was picked up just like that, and trying to come to terms her mouth was just hanging open. As the ground and the pounding of Brutus' boots carried on, Lucy began to jar around. Biting on her tongue due to being moved around so much.

Letting out a sharp cry of pain she shut her mouth and spent the rest of her ride with it shut like a door. They got to the location and she was set down. Eyeing the situation, the two got there just in time! There was a snake cornering the poor kitty.

Brutus would whistle at the snake, and the snake being smart it whipped its head. It stuck its tongue out of its mouth and raised its neck up, sides puffing up making it look 4x its size. It eyed Brutus and taking on the task of processing, it came to the conclusion that Brutus was big, and dangerous. It slithered away quickly heading straight for the closest field of wheat.

Lucy went straight for the kitty, approaching it slowly, humming. The kitty was still terrified, and not wanting it to run away she ignited her magic to wrap a string of grass around its paw. Strengthening the closer she got. Once she was close enough to pounce, she pounced. The kitten tried to dash out of the way but due to the grass it couldn't go anywhere. Lucy landed right near the kitten and snatched it up, releasing the grass. She stood to her feet and faced Brutus. "Time to find the next kitten!"
