Creating the character had gone smoothly, so smoothly that Naomi had at first wondered just how complex this system could possibly be. Her research had left her with little in the way of answers, other than learning that the majority of the world wanted to pretend this place didn't exist, that there was nothing to be found - and that, if she hadn't already logged in and found out, the world of Terrasphere was nothing more than a simple dream and fallacy made by others. A fake world, created to lure in those who didn't know better, in the hopes of finding something amazing and miraculous.

Kyra knew, now, that at least some of those beliefs were false. While the character creation itself had been painless, as all things go, it had been overtly detailed as well. She'd modelled her ideal imagery, giving it the long silvered hair and blue eyes she'd always wanted herself. She'd chosen a beastfolk of a fox nature, deciding that it matched her desire for animals above all else. She'd taken time, more time than she cared to admit, in its creation - but she knew it would be a representation of herself, and she wanted it to be perfect.

Her next step had labelled itself as Mastery Selection, but Naomi had noticed a glitch with the system - her Masteries already chosen and her setup inaccessible for reasons she couldn't figure out. More in frustration than anything else, she chose to move to the next step, choosing her name. She'd studied the screen before her intensely for a few moments, before slowly typing in the first thing that came to mind. Kyra Varyth.

Her hand had hovered over the completion button for a time, staring at the character creation she'd gone through, wondering if she'd done it perfectly. She'd felt, if not seen, the teeth biting her bottom lip in anticipation, worry, doubt and emotions she couldn't quite name at the time. Sighing to herself, she placed her finger on the button - and suddenly felt everything change.

The world had spun as she'd suddenly felt the ground give out beneath her. Where everything had been dark moments ago, the black world that had been the character creation screen giving way to the new world she found herself in, Kyra found herself blinded by light searing into her eyes and a wind slashing and pulling at her face. She could barely see the greenery of the world below coming up towards her as she realised, belatedly, that she had been falling through the sky towards solid ground.

She wanted to scream, to cry out, to do something to save herself - but before she'd had so much as an inkling of thought towards her own safety and security, her descent had begun to slow. Calming, the wind released her face ever so slightly - enough that she was able to take in the view around her. As far as her eyes could see, the horizon stretched. Woodlands directly beneath her gave way to civilised areas, small villages and towns in the far distance, and everywhere she looked she could see signs of life. Nature held root in many areas, but Kyra found herself spotting wagons and horses, and small bodies that would likely be humanoids, travelling through the various roads, pathways and other stretches that opened between flora and developed bodies.

The world appeared open before her; clearly populated, but not overwhelmed by the creatures that would call it home. It feels...young. Although she'd barely entered the world, something about the lands felt new to her, fresh, as if waiting to be explored. As if waiting to have her find their secrets.

Her feet touched something, and she found her gaze shifting below her once more as she entered the treetops themselves. Branch, leaf and needle dragged across her skin, the feeling as real as if she were in the outside world. Naomi looked down at her hands, taking in her own form for the first time - what she could see matching the imagery she'd created only moments ago. Black leggings covered her legs, meeting tall black boots that appeared comfortable enough and gave no feelings of tightness on her feet. Hands gave way to a black, white and red jacket that covered a simple black turtleneck beneath.

Her feet reached the ground with a gentle bump - enough to shift her balance and force her to catch herself, her hand landing against a nearby trunk. Her eyes roamed over her form, taking in the new experience, getting a feeling for herself. Slowly, she glanced around her, looking over the various flowers, the trees, and the assorted other pieces of the forest that came into sight.

This is...so real...

And So Arrives New Kyra...

Now, didn't this feel nostalgic? With everything that has been happening as of late, life felt like a storm with no sign of stopping, constantly pushing a person in every direction at once, trying to tear them apart. A dark cloud that obscured the sunlight, leaving the land pitch-black, impossible to navigate toward your goal. 'Oppressive' seemed like the best way to describe it. Or at least how Fina felt for a while now. Coming back her, however? It was different. As she sat down on a stump of a tree and looked upward, she could see the sun, and countless picturesque clouds lazily swimming across the blue ocean of their sky.

"Maybe I should come here more often..." But what if she would be needed elsewhere? No, she shook her head to banish such thoughts, at least for now. Spending all of her time doing nothing but worrying wasn't any good, either. But just as the girl was beginning to relax properly, her feline ears twitched as a disruptive sound washed over them, a rushing of nearby trees as something... relatively large moved around. The girl's eyes opened wide as she jumped to her feet and quickly peered past the trees that surrounded her.

"Oh..!" It was not a stray goblin that wandered here from Western Brisshal, or any other manner of a hostile creature. Instead, she spotted a beastfolk, stumbling around in a manner most familiar to those who once joined this world as well. "Ah, sorry! I thought there was a monster or a wild beast for a moment- wait, I shouldn't be scaring people like that, should I..." Worried that she spooked the other woman by suddenly jumping from behind a tree, Fina tried to relax her stance. Still, she couldn't help but to eye the fox girl from top to bottom. "Um... need any help?"

Her ears had twitched at the sound of a voice - her heart stopping for a second as she spun in a combination of fear and excitement, before realising that a voice likely meant there was no danger. Her hands had risen in a defensive posture; palms held out in front of her in an almost comical manner as she prepared herself for...what?

It took only a second to spot the figure standing in the middle of the woods, having appeared from somewhere out of sight. Kyra's eyes shifted around, looking for anyone else, before realising that they were alone. Her ears could hear the soft shifting of their clothes, the ways in which their bodies moved, even their breaths - but there was no sounds of life beyond the two of them. These senses are...well, they're amazing. Powerful. Really, really helpful - so how did I miss...?

Shrugging off the confusion and concern, she gave a wave with her left hand towards the other. She'd stood silent for far too long - even she knew that - which meant that her nervousness was likely obvious. Determined to break any growing worry that the other individual may have, Kyra said the first thing that came to mind.

Help...? Uh, maybe a bit actually...it's my first time in this world. It's...really wonderful, entirely detailed. It's hard to believe it's actually a game! Whomever created this...they did an amazing job!

Her eyes had glanced up and around even as she spoke, taking in the sights around them with a continued disbelief. She wasn't sure she'd ever get used to it, if she was being honest. It was far superior to anything else she'd ever played, surpassing even the leading virtual reality pieces that were available on the market.

I'm...actually not even really sure where to get started from here. I mean, I just...dropped in? I guess you could say. I fell from the sky, and landed a little ways over there.

She turned and pointed back in the direction she'd managed to stumble over from, her eyes showing the broken branches and tree limbs that she'd collided with on her way down. It wasn't a large area of destruction - barely wider than her own body - but it stood out in the otherwise pristine forest that surrounded it.

Is there...something like a beginner's tutorial, or first quest around here? Maybe a village that gives some sort of...introduction to the world? I'm really not even sure what to expect...

She'd entered the world without any foreknowledge about it, in all honesty. Tidbits that she'd picked up from her searches online, but even those had been vague and unhelpful. They defined a beautiful world, something that would give any player what they wanted and more, but never anything beyond subtle mentions of what TerraSphere was. Nothing that would've, could've prepared her for this.

It was quite strange. The person in front of her, according to her own words, was completely new to this world. And yet, her presence was unlike anything Fina had ever experienced when talking to complete newbies. Was it perhaps just her imagination? Her tired and somewhat jittery brain being a tad too paranoid? Surely that was the case.

Offering back a smile, the feline relaxed considerably and let out a brief sigh. "A newbie then, huh? Welcome! I did hear some noise and jumped over, thought it might have been something far less pleasant trying to sneak up on me... glad I was wrong." It was rather amusing, still. Especially now that she had fully taken Kyra's appearance in. A pale fox with blue eyes... where did she see that, hm? Granted, white and silver hair paired with beautiful blue eyes was often quite favored when it came to character creation... and for beastfolks, fox was definitely up there as well. So all in all, meeting another white fox was not that surprising.

"Yeah, this world is about as realistic as the one you just dived in from. All the way down to political figures acting like clowns most of the time. Um, it can be immersive to a fault though. There is no UI you might be used to. The only form of UI is the small menu, um... right, take your arm, clench it in a fist, and then open it up again. That's the easiest way of getting to it." She'd let the girl get used to the menu that would pop up.

As for her follow-up question, the answer would be pretty similar. "And yeah, this game is... not newbie friendly, to be perfectly honest. So it's usually veteran players who try to find and greet players like you, who just started, and show them the ropes. Though you found me by accident." Looking around, she tried to quickly orientate herself. "It's similar with any kind of tutorial. That is to say... there are none. But there is a nearby town that is generally seen as the first stop for new players, it's called Honeyhome. I can escort you there?"

Friendly. That was the only word that came to mind in response to the individual who had introduced themselves. She'd listened intently as they had explained the world - admitting to it's realism, and criticising what sounded like the NPCs of the world. Kyra couldn't help but wonder about that bit, but before she could comment on it her attention was pulled away to something she hadn't even noticed until it was mentioned.

Oh...yeah, I guess there isn't any sort of UI. That's...actually kind of nice, no distractions. Although...I guess it makes handling inventory and stuff difficult? Or like...knowing how much health you have left, and such?

She took a moment to follow the other's direction, clenching her left first and watching as the menu appeared once it was opened. She quickly browsed through it, noticing that a number of items marked as 'realism' were checked off, including a...

There's a pain dampener? Is it...normally off by default?

There was no real concern or worry in her tone, simple curiosity at the fact that it had already been set for her. Odd...I wonder if that has anything to do with the glitches when I was creating the character... She knew she wouldn't have an answer right now, and instead turned back to listen to the other player as they explained, at least a little bit, about the world Kyra had stepped into.

Honeyhome? That sounds...actually rather welcoming. I would love an escort there, so long as it's not taking up much of your time. I...feel like I have a bit of orienting to do. This is beyond any of the regular roleplaying games I've ever played...

Her eyes traced the woods around her again, taking it all in as she considered what she had played before. Even the Dungeons & Dragons VR game hadn't compared - a poor rendition, if she was being entirely honest. There really is nothing like this...

"Ah, um..." There was something Fina wanted to say in response, but instead chose to wait a bit longer for the girl to look through her menu. Sure enough, the fox was thorough in looking through the various options, and had found the pain limited. The feline scratched the back of her head and looked around somewhat nervously, unsure of how to approach this topic. "Well, as I said... this game is very immersive. So... if someone chooses to run you through with a sword... or if a wolf bites you... it will feel just as it would feel in real life. That is to say, kinda agonizing."

She tried not to linger on those words before continuing in fear of scaring the poor lass. "So that's where the pain limiter comes in! You can turn it on, and then you will feel barely any pain. Though, of course, it comes with the disadvantage of being unable to tell if you're being injured by something not too painful and not directly seeing it." Fina herself had the option turned on. She tried turning it off for a while, but learned the hard way what it feels like to experience injuries all too common in fantasy settings with a lot of fighting. Frankly, she had no idea how most players kept on trucking with the thing turned off.

"So yeah, you will be able to tell when you're dying because it will be very unpleasant. Though... you really don't want to get to that point." Those were the less pleasant topics dealt with, hopefully. As the girl expressed interest in being led to the nearby town, Fina didn't hesitate to deal with any uncertainties. "I've got nothing to do at the moment, really. Just came here to reminisce, is all." Taking a step forward, she also realized that the two didn't formally greet each other yet. "Oh, and you can call me Fina, by the way. Nice to meet you!" Extending her hand for a handshake, she offered a smile.

Her hand had hovered over the pain limiter option as Fina had explained everything about it. She'd felt her heartrate rise slightly in response to the description, albeit as calmly given as it could be. She took some time to consider the pain that could be felt, the agony that dying would cause, and she wondered if she'd be able to handle that sort of pain. Just as she was about to swipe the icon, however, Fina mentioned not noticing when one was dying - and something in the way that the girl said it pulled Kyra's attention away from her decision.

Closing the menu, leaving the limiter off, she stepping up beside the other as they introduced themselves and extended their hand. Kyra was slow to take it, but did so without any apprehension of the individual - appearing more confused by the motion at first, than anything.

It really is my pleasure, Fina...My name is Na-er...Kyra. Kyra Varyth. You...mentioned death. Is it common, in this world? I mean, it's an RPG right? So what happens if you die? Do you respawn in a central location, or in this forest or something?

Her voice had slowed as she shifted from introduction to question. It was common for death and resurrection to exist within fantastical roleplaying games, or just general roleplaying games. Most, however, had some sort of tutorial on how those worked - at least to a degree. From what she'd seen of TerraSphere so far, however, Kyra had little hope of seeing any such tutorials.

Is it like...if you die, one of your party members has to resurrect you? Is there spells that allow you to return someone to life? Like healing magic? Oh, actually...when I was creating my...character? Avatar? Anyways, when I was creating this, there was a screen for something called masteries, but it was locked out? It had a bunch listed though...

She'd waved her hand in reference to her own body as she spoke, her eyebrows furrowing slightly towards the end of her commentary as she tried to remember exactly what the listed masteries had been.

Pierce weapons...Beast...Beast Magic? And then there was...Weapon...Arts? Is that like being able to use different weapons? Oh, and Illusion and Nature Magic? Are those any good?

In her experiences illusion magic had always been something she carried in her lists of spells, when those were available in other games. She had, however, avoided nature spells due to their lack luster capabilities. Maybe magic is different in TerraSphere though. Maybe nature magic really is strong? She looked around at the woods around her, considering how something like a natural-based magic could manipulate the world, could control plants and trees. It seemed like it could be dangerous here, where there was so much more realism to the world.

Fina easily caught the brief slip-up, but didn't comment much on it beyond a simple "Yeah, best to use your in-game name here, just in case." and a wink. Although this very friendly exchange suddenly turned into something terrifying when Kyra started asking about death and how exactly it worked in this world. Which could only mean one thing - she had no idea. Fina staggered backward a bit as she placed her right hand against her forehead, closing her eyes briefly. "Um..." Oh heavens, how should she even go about something like this?

"It, uh... sounds like you haven't heard much..?" But there was no avoiding the topic for long. Letting out a sigh, she ran her hand through her hair and tried to look at Kyra with a renewed focus. "Okay, so... yeah, if you do die, people with supportive abilities can revive you. If they do not do that in... 10 minutes, was it? Then, you will respawn at the nearest temple. But..." She sighed again. "You REALLY do not want to die, okay? All those rumors, they are true." She waited a moment to see how the fox girl would react. Though, either way, she reinforced what those rumors were. "Die enough times in here and your body outside of the game dies as well. That's how you get stuck here for good. The pain can be mostly disabled, but that... that's the real reason why a lot of people end up quitting this game, despite how amazing it is."

Well, that was a rather heavy thing to convey. So Fina figured that addressing the matter of Kyra's masteries could wait a short few seconds, just in case the girl would react poorly to the news just shared.

Her tail swished behind her slowly as she took in the information. Death here...death in the real world? The rumours are true? She realised, slowly over time, that she hadn't been as thorough in her research as she should likely have been prior to stepping into the game. It's no wonder people end up quitting? It's a wonder anyone starts this game to begin with.

She could feel the eyes of Fina on her as she wrestled with the thoughts, trying to put everything into place in her mind. Slowly, carefully, she chose her response to the information, trying to keep her emotions out of it as much as possible.

So...a lot of people have died...? In the real world, I mean? Is...that why the game is banned in so many places? And why talking about it...gets you...a visit?

She wanted to wait for an answer, wanted to let the other explain more, but before she could help herself her excitement overcame her. Her tone shifted into one of a more energetic sense, and the hesitation dropped away quickly as she continued speaking.

What...what happens if you die in the real world? Do you get stuck in here, or something? Or are you just entirely gone? I mean, it would make sense that you're entirely gone, wouldn't it? But is it like...do you get to spend forever in here, just living out adventure after adventure? And...if it's possible to die in here, and out there by connection...what else is possible? Can you...can you eat here and fulfil your natural needs? Can you...oh, can you start a family here?!

She'd begun bouncing in place at some point, her energy coursing into her very movements as she spun question after question out, trying to control herself and failing entirely. There was so much to learn, so much to explore - and while there were dangers, the more she learnt, the more it excited her.

Yup. Kyra's initial reaction was all the confirmation Fina needed to be certain of the fact that the other girl didn't know, or at least didn't expect death here to mean the same as in the real world. But just as the feline got ready to continue explaining, the fox started talking more and more... and... in a more excited voice. Fina's fluffy ears flopped down as her golden eyes fixated on the other, almost watching her in disbelief all the way until she finally stopped.

First things first, Fina took a step forward... and firmly placed her hands on Kyra's shoulders. "Okay, listen... maybe I'm just misinterpreting things, and I hope I am... but just in case... I certainly hope you aren't thinking about doing something dumb like getting killed on purpose so you can get to live the rest of your life in this world instead of the... other one." With that out of the way, she let go and created more personal space between them again.

"Second of all... I don't know. Deaths caused by this game are pretty thoroughly concealed in the real world, as far as the conspiracies go. But no, you do not just disappear. You do, in fact, stay here. For good. Well, as long as you get resurrected upon death, anyway. I haven't really met anyone like that myself, but I have heard about people who got stranded and formed completely new lives... families with Landers included. Er, Landers are NPCs... doesn't feel right to address them by the latter, considering that they feel more real than some players..."

She sure wasn't used to talking this much, her throat was starting to feel dry. But it was good that the other girl had many questions. Better than charging into the unknown, thinking oneself invincible. "I'd imagine that is the reason as to why TerraSphere is banned, yeah. Also, you need to eat and drink even if you haven't died."

The hands that touched her shoulders pulled her out of her excitement, toning down her behaviour ever so slightly. She felt a bit of colour reach her cheeks - in response to the words, more than the physical contact - and she bowed her head in as much of resignation as she could muster in the moment.

I...wasn't planning on anything like that, I was just...just thinking it would be...a wonder, in a way? Like, not a good way, but...

Her muttered words were either lost or ignored as Fina stepped back and continued on with her explanation. Curiosity as much as admonition kept her quiet as Fina continued to explain the possibilities of death, and the impact it could have on their lives. Landers? So...the NPCs have an actual title? Interesting... Another thought popped into her head as she considered everything that Fina had told her - one that she felt was worth asking now, above all the others that were already rising behind it.

If...they're Landers...then is there a specific term for players? Or do the NP...Landers...just call us players? And how do you tell the difference? There's no UI, and no markers...

She looked over Fina, seeing nothing standing out that would notify her as a player to Kyra - at least nothing like any other game. No markers, no nametags, nothing that would note who the other individual was if they hadn't introduced themselves. They feel more real than other players? Like, they're well programmed...? Huh, I wonder if they're just...really good at query and response situations?

Oh...and what are masteries, anyways?

She'd almost forgotten her original question, having it return to her head only due to a stray thought about whether the Landers of the world could use magic or not. There was so much she didn't know, so much that she still had to learn. It baffled her that there wasn't some sort of tutorial for it all, something to give players a heads up on the dangers that could exist in the world - and how to overcome some of them.

And...is there anything else I should know? I mean, anything that seems super important, beyond 'avoid death'? Which, I definitely plan on doing. Don't worry. As...as much as it may seem a good idea to lock oneself away in this world, I doubt it would be wise...or, at least it feels like it wouldn't be wise...

Kyra wasn't planning on being a suicidal maniac who idolized this world. That was good. One dangerous thing out of the way, at least. As wonderful as this place was, it did come with some serious caveats... the constant strife being one of them. An adventurer's life was not an easy one and it highlighted just how peaceful life in the 'real world' was most of the time.

"Players are generally referred to as 'Starcalled', possibly because of that... falling from the sky thing when you first enter the world. Though some also just say 'Travelers' because it's much less of a mouthful. That said, there is no surefire way to tell a difference immediately. The most reliable way to tell players and locals apart is demeanor. You know, players having clothes that look too modern for this fantasy world, or acting like proper weirdos... while the locals star at them in bemusement." Yeah, that happened pretty often...

"Oh, right, and your mastery problem... not sure what you meant exactly, but you can also pick them now, from your menu. Or change them, for a fee. They are... like categories that dictate what you can do well. It's a bit weird, but there is an auto-assist feature. Most new players use it. The game will pretty much guide your body to perform specified actions with it. But even without it, getting and upgrading a mastery is almost like... almost like the game puts knowledge directly into your brain. For example..."

The feline took a few steps back to create more space between the two of them and extended her hands forward. All of a sudden, a giant battleaxe, bigger than Fina's body, started forming in the air and finally falling into her hands. Dancing in purple hues, it almost looked like it was created with some sort of sparkling gem. "I can do this! Just... create weapons out of raw magic. And even though I've never done anything like it outside of this game, I just sorta know how to swing them around well. It's hard to explain honestly."

Just as quickly as it was created, the weapon faded away since it would only get in the way. "You did mention some... though from the names you said, I'm only familiar with Weapon Arts and Nature magic. The former is... hm... I suppose it's a good path for those who plan on using weapons a lot, in simple terms. And nature magic... I have a friend, also a fox with white hair, who uses it a lot for a variety of things. Usually healing, though." Given how hyperfocused Fina's own build was, she wasn't exactly the beast teacher for people who wanted to be diverse in their masteries.

As for Kyra's last question, there was a rather obvious answer for once. "Treat this place as if it was real life. It doesn't revolve around you and you most certainly are not the invincible protag. If you piss someone off, there will be consequences. If you lose a fight... there will be consequences. That sorta thing."

Kyra remained silent as Fina explained more and more about the world. She watched, in slight wonder as the girl summoned forth a battleaxe, wielding it as if the thing was no more than a paper imitation of the large weapon - and yet, somehow, Kyra knew it would slice her in half if it were to land a proper strike against her.

Her eyebrows peaked at the mention of the auto-assist. She'd seen something of that sort mentioned in her menu, and as Fina continued speaking Kyra re-opened the piece, scrolling through and looking for the information she'd originally passed over without a second thought. It took her a few seconds, but when she had spotted it, she twisted around so that Fina would be able to see the menu as well, shifting her body slightly closer to the girl and holding her hand up slightly in the hopes of bringing the menu that she could see so clearly into the other's field of vision.

Auto-assist...this says that it's disabled? And there's no option to switch it on, not that I can see at least...all it says is...'Auto-assist unavailable - connection failed'? Is that normal?

Pain limiters, auto-assists, realistic visuals...and knowledge just in your mind...this world is so vast. I'm amazed anyone can survive here for more than a few moments. Even as she thought the words, she felt something in her mind shift, a sudden desire. Fina had mentioned that she could just know how things worked; how to summon weapons and do other things, perhaps it would be the same for her?

She flipped back through the menu towards where her masteries had been listed, glancing over the options and trying to figure out which would be most beneficial to test. Something simple to start...Beast Arts sounds interesting...summoning a companion? I wonder...

Closing the menu, she brought her arms up slightly, holding her palms down towards the ground in front of her. Closing her eyes, she tried to picture what summoning an animal would look like, letting the image grow in her mind. Almost naturally, she felt something respond, and found herself muttering aloud in response.

Come forth, fox kin of my blood, I summon you beside me...

Her eyes popped open at the end, glancing about with an almost excited twinkle in them, hoping to see the creature simply pop into existence. A few breaths passed, and Kyra felt herself slouch slightly in response as nothing magically appeared, nothing summoned before her.

Huh...maybe I did it wrong...? Are there specific incantations you need to spe-

Her words caught in her throat as she saw a small reddish-brown nose poke out from the brush, followed by white-tipped legs and a thin body. The fox strode into the small area they were standing with an almost proud grace, moving up to Kyra before giving what seemed like a bow before the fox-girl. Her eyes shifted over to Fina, a look of pure shock on her face as she glanced back and forth between the fox and Fina.

Fi...Fin....Fina! I! Fina-fox! Finafox! Foxfoxfox!

She was almost bounding with excitement on the spot while she pointed down at the creature, the fox staring back with an expression that Kyra would've called questionable if she could've seen it entirely - but her vision was blurred as she moved, noticing only the grander details in the entire scene before her.

As Kyra would suddenly turn around, Fina staggered backward a little, only for the fox girl to get closer and start twisting her arm in various ways. Only then did the feline realize what the other girl was trying to do. "Ah, other players can't see your UI, I'm afraid. Your palm is just empty for me." All they were really accomplishing was that Kyra was somewhat rubbing her back against Fina, the silvery tail gently brushing up against the feline's skin and ticking a tad.

That said, what she said to accompany her actions was... strange, to say the least. "H-huh? Wait, disabled and cannot be turned on? I mean, it's normal for them to be turned off at the start, but... are you sure you're not just missing the button? It really should be there." There was simply no way that it would be disabled, right? Something like that just didn't make any sense. Granted, there seemed to be some mysterious circumstances surrounding this girl, but even then-

And suddenly, Kyra started chanting out of nowhere and without warning. "W-wha-" Her words suggested that she was trying to cast something akin to a summoning spell. But, as expected, nothing happened. "Well, even if you do have beast arts, you can't just summon things. You usually have to first find them, then tame them, then- wh-??" Suddenly, the small fox showed up. Was it... actually brought forth by Kyra? Or was it just a normal fox that somehow wandered here while the two girls were too busy trying to figure stuff out?

Squatting down, Fina stared at the creature for a while, even as Kyra was freaking out about her seemingly successful summoning. "Doesn't look like a wild... what in the world is going on over here..?" But at least she was happy for Kyra. "Okay, there is clearly something funny going on. Maybe we should head to Honeyhome and try to figure things from there, yeah?" Getting back up, she looked toward the direction in which the town laid, then back to the fox girl. "And if you're this excited about a fox being next to you, just wait for when you pick it up and feel how fluffy it is. Heh, or when someone else decides to rub your fox ears."

Kyra's head tilted suddenly, her excitement coming to a sudden stop as she remembered her own features. Suddenly her hands reached up and gently patted the ears atop her head, feeling the soft fur that met hair, protruding out into the air above and beyond her skull.

Fina...I have ears!

In her entire excitement over the world, her skills and everything else going on, she'd entirely forgotten the features she'd chosen during her character creation. The sudden urge to see herself took over, and she bounded the two steps over to Fina, grabbing the girl by the shoulders and pulling her closer even as she whispered in her excitement.

Do you have a mirrror? I need a mirror. We need to find a mirror!

Just as suddenly as she'd bounded forwards, Kyra stepped back to give some space, glancing around the forest in the obvious hopes that a mirror would simply appear before them. When that didn't happen, Kyra did the next best thing she could think of - looking towards Fina and holding her hands in front of her in an almost pleading manner. The tail behind her swished with a level of enthusiasm that matched the fox-girl's words as she made her request.

Can we go to Honeyhome now? They'd have a mirror there, right? Something I could use to see myself? I mean, I saw it during creation but...but I think it would look totally different now, right? I just wanna see what it looks like!

She'd spun around again, the squeal following her words bouncing around the forest in a way that caused Kyra's ears to flatten slightly, but the look in her eyes showed that she hadn't lost any of her excitement. Her very frame seemed to vibrate with the need to head to the village immediately, hindered only by the lack of knowledge of where she needed to go.

It was easy to get lost in all the excitement and novelty that TerraSphere brought, Fina didn't blame Kyra for completely sidelining her new nature as a beastfolk until now. "And a tail, yup!" She reminded the girl of the extra appendage, possibly excitedly swinging behind her. "Might take a while to get used to, but they feel completely real, as if they were always part of you. Just gotta be mindful of the tail, it's... not pleasant when someone steps on it." She spoke from experience, unfortunately.

When the fox suddenly moved forward, it almost made Fina jump. The poor feline wasn't quite able to keep up with the other girl's enthusiasm and excitement, but it was good that she had those. It was almost like watching a little kid during a Christmas party as they were receiving their presents - adorable, to say the least. And while Fina technically could have tried to create a mirror using her arcanamancy, just as she made the weapon before, she decided against it. They had to go to Honeyhome anyway, and she figured that the excitement would only build up, and be worth it after it bounced around inside of the girl for a little while longer.

"Yeah, we can go. We can get you a room in an inn with a mirror and everything. Plenty of people want to look at themselves after arriving in this world. Especially so when they discover that they can just remove all of their gear and underwear as well..." The last bit warranted the feline to look to the side with her cheeks getting a bit of a rosy tint to them, but she shook that off soon enough as she pointed in the direction they needed to be going in to reach the place. "Try to look for any landmarks or anything else you might remember along the way. The only maps you'll be using are traditional ones on a piece of paper, so you might have to learn how to orientate yourself even in a place like this."

Kyra nodded as Fina explained the necessity of learning to use maps. Thankfully, her upbringing had taught her to read such instruments - so long as the maps of TerraSphere were similar to those of the real world. Still, she tucked the knowledge away as something to deal with later on, once it became a problem. She glanced about as they began making their way through the treeline, taking care to notice obvious landmarks that stuck out.

It wasn't long before they reached what appeared to be a roadway itself, Kyra having nattered on about the various details she spotted along the way - from odd coloured mushrooms, to a bird that carried purple and gold feathers - everything that caught her eye was pointed out and squealed about in detail.

Say...Fina? I should...probably have a weapon, right?

She'd realised it as they came out onto the roadway, and the openness hit her. There was less security in the feeling of the road somehow, as if it was more likely they'd come across something - or someone - of a less appealing nature. Kyra looked down at herself, before opening the menu once more and scrolling through the few options provided.

There's...no starter weapons? Or...no starter gear at all...really...

She glanced down over herself once more. Aside from the clothing she was wearing, she owned nothing in this world. And while the leather jacket seemed well made, she doubted it would sell for anything near the worth of a weapon. I guess making some sort of money is going to be a priority...

She glanced in both directions as she stood at the edge of the roadway, the unease passing over her suddenly and causing her tail to swish slowly in a low-hanging manner. Her ears had pulled back towards the top of her skull in response, and she could feel her top lip curling backwards ever so slightly.

This...this feels more dangerous, somehow...

The more you thought about it, the less newbie-friendly the game was. So Fina could only nod along to Kyra's observations, confirming them all. "Yeah, you start with... pretty much just the clothes you're wearing. Which is better than being thrown into this world naked, but it's not the best if you run into a wild wolf or something. That said, this zone doesn't have anything too dangerous, and certainly not anything you wouldn't be able to just run away from." And with a wink, she also added "And right now, there is nothing I wouldn't be able to protect you from."

Being relied on felt nice, and it certainly wasn't a feeling the feline got often. Her cowardly nature didn't help in that regard, but she was plenty confident in the starting zone, at least. That said, she wasn't super certain how to ease Kyra's anxiety once they got to a more open space. "Maybe I scared you a bit too much... um, yeah, this world is definitely dangerous, but it's not like everything and everyone you come across will be dangerous. And as I said, I'm here! Once we get to the city, I can buy you a weapon, too." Funny... when she was new in this world, another player got her a starting weapon and introduced everything... now she was doing the same for someone else.

Kyra calmed a bit when Fina spoke, her words having some sort of effect on her - or perhaps it was just the confidence that the other seemed to move with and portray. Whatever the reasoning, she could feel her tail's swishing slow slightly, and her ears relaxed atop her head. Letting out a small sigh - barely audible to her companion, most likely - she turned to the girl with a small smile.

Thanks...your presence alone is...helping, believe it or not. I think that if I were alone out here, it would be...different. I guess having someone else around is a calming measure, at least?

She shook her head as Fina mentioned possibly purchasing a weapon for her once they reached their destination. It was a kind gesture, and one that Kyra felt was probably something that everyone did when they found new arrivals - but it wasn't something she was willing to simply accept.

I prefer working for my rewards...or, well, at least doing something to obtain the things I get. It would be poor form to just accept every gift offered without giving any sort of return...

She shifted in place, turning to her left, then to her right, before realising that she had no idea which direction they were meant to head.

Which...way do we go? I mean, I could start just walking, but something tells me that would end badly. I think you mentioned that the real dangers laid to the...west? Western....Bresshal? So we should head...east, then?

She thought aloud as she tried to make sense of the information that she'd been given thus far. It was hard to remember everything - especially names of local places that she'd yet to even encounter - but she had a feeling she was on the right track at least. Or, so she hoped.

"Well, if you had no one here with you, then you'd have no one to scare you..." She really had to tone it down with the pessimism and scary nature of this game, especially in front of a new player. There was much wonder waiting for Kyra, many experiences, most of them probably pleasant. So why taint that so early on? "But I'm glad that I can be of some use, at least."

It was the same for what she said next. While it was good to see that the girl didn't just expect everything to be handed to her, she really didn't need to decline offers like these. "If you're really that worried about repaying me, you can just pay the money back to me later. You know, once you have the means to earn your own gold. It would be pretty hard to do any adventuring without any equipment, especially a weapon for self-defense."

Hopefully, the fox understood. "It's good to scrutinize offers of help from people who might want to exploit you, but it's also important to be willing to accept help from people you can trust. Well, I guess it's up to you to decide if you can trust me yet..."

As they talked, they seemed to get a bit lost. Or at least Kyra did. Not that she even knew the direct path to Honeyhome, but it was good that she recognized that they might have been straying from the path a bit. "This whole giant forest is divided into two halves - Eastern and Western Brisshal. We're currently in the Eastern part, while the Western one is home to many more monsters. So yeah, we head east!"
