"Well, I wish I could say I was familiar with my weapon already, but I was never really a gun person. Suppose I could always start, though...get some target practice outside the game, heh.

She says, partially joking, but she did really think about it. It wouldn't be a bad idea to own a gun anyhow...but it could be pretty hard in her current situation, even if she could afford it. Oh well, thoughts for later.

"And...I'm pretty sure if my joints got stiff, I'd need WD-40 more than a good stretch. Ah...maybe I should try and invent that, while I'm here. A miracle product for magia everywhere...

Aroda amuses herself with that thought, before she's brought back to terrasphere by another question.

"Ah? Oh, well, fountain pens are pretty easy to find, if expensive, but there's something kinda like a ballpoint pen that's even more expensive. I have a good number of pencils too - It's probably safer sticking to those, there's plenty of graphite and charcoal style materials, so they're mostly cheap."

The magia explains, as she points out those few respective items near where the paper and notebooks were.

Solaria laughed a bit, smiling brightly. "It's not like you have to have a play-style that fits your real life. I just like swords too much. Though to be honest... Ever since Hawnell woke up, it's felt a lot different when I fight. I feel stronger, but also... how do I describe it... It's just different. I can't really put it into words."

Hawnell nodded simply, agreeing with her. It felt different for him too, now that he could communicate with his wielder.

"WD-40? Is that what you use for magia? I was sure they still had some biological functions and needs... Does that mean I can't heal you with medicine or magic?" She paled at the idea of not being able to tend to a friend. What good was she as a future nurse if she couldn't help heal people now?

"Pencils it is! Do they sell sharpeners? Do we even need sharpeners? Well, if not, I guess I can have Hawnell sharpen them for me... But then his blade might get dulled..."

"Huh? No, it's...WD-40's..."

She pauses with a cocked head, wondering...does she not know what it is, or did she really think magia need WD-40? Either one is...not ideal. She supposed she'd just have to cover her bases.

"WD-40's like, a lubricant, for metal and stuff...you know, in the starcalled realm? Anyways, Magia don't actually use it or anything, it was a joke. I still have to eat and drink, though I can't taste anything, I don't sleep, but have to 'recharge'...and yes, magic healing works just fine on me. Already experienced that."

Moving on from there, she wonders about the Hawnell situation.

"But, do you not normally have to sharpen Hawnell, too? If not I don't think he gets dull. If he does, you can probably buy...sharpeners. Whatever they're called here, too. ...Whetstones! Yeah, you can buy those here too. Like I said, it's more like a general store, with the variety it has. Lots of useful little things."

"Is that at all related to silicone spray? We don't really use brand names at my house for anything... But we use silicone spray as a lubricant for things a lot. Like creaky door hinges." She put her finger to her chin, contemplating it. That reminded her, her brother's door was creaking. She'd have to find the silicone spray after playing the game to fix it.

Solaria listened carefully to the differences between Magia and, in her case, Elves. Magia couldn't taste, but still had to eat? That sounded horrifying to Solaria, who always loved a homecooked meal. She wasn't a notable chef or anything, but she was pretty proud of her palate. Not that it was special- she just felt good about her food choices, usually.

"Well, I guess on the bright side you're less likely to be a picky eater...?" A nervous laugh escaped her. She had to think for a minute when asked about Hawnell. "I sharpened him once or twice at a blacksmith, but I think I'll get a whetstone to sharpen him myself when on the road. Even if he doesn't really need it, it can't hurt. Ah, I wonder if they have stuff for polishing steel, too? I try to keep him clean, but..."

"Sili...? Yeah, I don't really know all the details. I mostly just know the saying...if it moves and it's not supposed to, use duct tape, if it's not moving and it's supposed to, use WD-40."

Aroda recites an old, ancient wisdom to the girl who hadn't heard of WD-40, something passed on to her by someone who was also rather old and ancient.

"Still, I don't know if polish and...whatever all else you'd need to take care of a sword is here, but it couldn't hurt to look. Might be easiest to find at a, weapon store, or something though. Or a blacksmith, like you mentioned..."

Holding up the only thing she'd even grabbed while here, a notebook, she wonders about shopping other places. And as she wonders about other places, she looks to Solaria,

"Hey, you said you've been playing for about, a month, right? Have you gone to some of the bigger cities, yet? I haven't got around to it, but I was planning on it once I saw enough around here."

"I've been using duct tape for everything my whole life, but I've never heard that one." Solaria pondered it for a moment, putting her finger to her lip, which she bit lightly while in thought. "I know about how useful duct tape is, of course. Heck, they even make bandages out of the stuff. Damn do those things hurt coming off."

Solaria let out a soft laugh as she found herself shifting through some different items. She'd never bought a number of things for self care and maintenance- so, when she found a hairbrush made of stiff animal hair, she decided to buy it. It would be better than just brushing with her fingers like she did right now. The whetstone was a must, too. So, that made at least three different items for her purchase already.

"I've traveled a wide variety of places, but specially in Falderen. I'm always looking for new places to explore, because you never know what kind of ingredients you'll find for potions, you know?"

A soft grin took her features by storm when she found a few vials with corks that looked good for storing medicine. "I'm gonna need a lot of this stuff when I open an apothecary. Should I be buying them now, or waiting until I have it...?"

Aroda cocked her head in contemplation a bit, as Solaria picked out a hair brush. She hadn't run into any issue with her hair, herself. She wasn't sure if it was because the game made it less of a hassle, or if it was how Magia and their...probably not-real hair worked. It might be the latter, if this purchase was any indication.

"An apothecary? That's, interesting. Can players- starcalled own businesses and such? I guess that's not that surprising, but it is interesting. Wonder if there are any people who have magitech...workshops, and such.

The thought was nice - it'd give her a big headstart on all this magitech stuff to find someone, or a group of people, who already had the knowledge and supplies.

"Ah, but if you want to buy things to get ready for opening this apothecary? Definitely start collecting stuff ahead of time. We don't really have to worry about the space they take up, so it'll just save you time in the long run, right?"

"Yep! I met a girl who ran a divination stall once, so I figured I'd do something too. Plus, it makes use of my skills more outside of training with Hawnell. I like the idea of making medicine people can take on the road to heal themselves if I'm not with them. Know what I mean?"

She had a big smile on her face just thinking about it. Solaria had always wanted to be a nurse, but being a nurse meant more than just curing patients in the hospital. The doctors often prescribed her mother medication before she was discharged to take home with her- and Solaria wanted to be able to do the same thing in this game. Just... With potions and magic.

"You make a good point. The inventory system is pretty handy for us, isn't it? Makes me feel silly for not thinking to start shopping for it sooner." With a soft laugh, she began to scour the store for other useful supplies. She found mortar and pestles, but she already had that. As she thought of it, what did she need? Shrugging it off, she continued her haphazard search while glancing to her shopping partner.

"What kind of goals do you have for this world, Aroda? What makes it fun for you?"

Aroda smiles a bit as she's asked, wondering to herself how exactly to put her own motivations to words. Even just learning about this game made it seem interesting, but the longer she played it, the more incredible it seemed in so many ways. She was surprised more people didn't seem as interested in this as she was...

"Well, I already talked about magitech. It's very interesting, and the amount of detail the game has on it make it seem pretty amusing to mess around with. More than that though, the fact that the game has that much detail...is one of the things that interests me. I really wanna know more about this place."

She looks around the store, now, more just taking it in that looking for any items, as she goes on.

"I mean, this ga- er, realm, Terrasphere, is just, crazy! It's just, so real, and there's so much detail - how could someone make something like this? Even more curious, who would make something like this? And why? Why would they put such an impossible amount of effort into creating this? Especially learning about this messed up UI-locking stuff, it's so bizarre - I just want to know more about it, you know? It's like something you'd see in a movie, or some other media, but it's actually real! And nobody knows anything about it, and it's crazy illegal - who wouldn't wanna know more?"

...Aroda clears her throat and glances back over at Solaria.

"Anyways...yeah. That's what's got me really interested. But I figure I can have fun exploring, and playing with the magitech while I'm around."

She finishes her excited monologue on that simpler note, still grinning.

"I totally get that!" Solaria chimed, looking around the room for a moment. Everything felt real, from the texture of the leather armor she wore, to the sharpness of her blade. She remembered the first time she touched a sword in this world- she'd cut herself on purpose, just to see what it felt like. A nervous laugh left her as the memory loomed. How foolish she'd been! "I don't know who made it. To be honest, I've thought about it, but... I can't really ask my friends in the other world about this, even if I think they'd know. Well... Besides the friend that sent me it..."

Now that she thought about it, she hadn't ever played with the friend that told her about Terrasphere. In fact, she didn't know his username. She hadn't seen him in a while. "Damnit, I hope that idiot didn't get UI-locked himself... He never warned me, so it's possible he didn't know..."

Shaking her head of the concerns, she returned to focusing on Aroda's excitable chatter. She really was interested in the game a lot, after all. And who could blame her? Even Solaria found the UI-locking and stuff interesting, albeit scary.

"You're right," she soon smiled, no longer letting her worries get the best of her. "As long as we're careful, it doesn't hurt to just explore and enjoy our time here. And while you play with the magitech, I'll learn to make all sorts of interesting medicines! Who knows? Maybe some of what I learn here can be applied back home, too!"

"Wait, you knew someone who invited you to play this game? ...I mean...come to...this realm?"

She sighed - keeping this starcalled thing straight was such a hassle. It sounded even dorkier than talking about a video game...

Either way, this friend stuff sounded a bit odd to Aroda, who had pretty much stumbled upon the game by chance on a very, very deep dive on the net. She'd thought this was the kind of game you didn't really talk about...but she supposed there were all sorts out there.

"Anyways...I haven't really noticed myself becoming a tech or engineering whiz outside of the...Terrasphere, even though in here it comes pretty natural. Crazy how that all works. Maybe it'll eventually rub off on me out there? Who knows...but that'd be pretty cool."

Aroda takes a final glance around the store, and the scant few things she's picked up, then to Solaria.

"...You think of more stuff you need, or should we get out of here soon?"
