Despite all the destruction that Finweald had gone through, along with a mass emigration, things were slowly going back to 'normal', or at the very least, the 'new normal'. Streets weren't as busy as they were before, but that didn't mean there was no life to it. In fact, today was probably the day Finweald looked the most lively in months.
With everything being rebuilt, the grief was still there, but many have moved on, or were trying to. Merchants tried to use the moment of rebuilding to flourish the commerce, and some of those that didn't have the conditions to live in the capital now had a chance, after all, empty houses were common in the past months.
Seeing new faces wasn't unusual, but a specific duo caught your attention. Be it because you have seen them before, or because you felt particularly altruistic that day and desired to help someone.
A large, red-haired caenis had his eyes darting back and forth, with his long tail swaying as pushing his dark grey and red clothes, with loose openings that showed his physique that wasn't extreme, but showed strength and constitution. He wondered how he would venture in that hill of bricks and cobblestones Finweald was. Next to him, and perhaps too glued to him, a little caenis girl with light brown hair and eyes, thick tail, a cropped top and a short skirt, and a necklace with a beautiful and shiny piece of moonstone on it. She had a curious look in her face, but she didn't leave the man's side for a single second. One could even try to guess they were siblings.
Whenever approaching, unless you were someone she has seen before, the little caenis would quickly try to use the larger one as a visual obstacle, and regardless of the case, she would tug his sleeve softly to point at the newcomer.

"U-Uhm..."
Her tug caught his attention, and initially he didn't understand what it meant.

"Huh? What's up?" ... "Oh! Heya there!"
He grinned widely seeing who was coming, showing his shiny teeth and fangs regardless if it was a friend or a stranger.

"Name's Ataru, and she—"

"... Luna..."
After the brief introduction for those that didn't know them, the Caenis man went on and explained their situation. The little Caenis girl wished to know more about the world outside, influenced by a group of Starcalled that had met her, and after dreaming day and night about the stories a certain boy had told her.
With the permission of her family, she was allowed to go in a journey to know more about the world, as long as Ataru was with her.

"But maaan... This place is crazy. I've come to the Astorea Capital before, but at the time, it wasn't this one."
He admitted.

"... Everything is so big in here... We are a little lost..."
The girl spoke up, shyly.

"Heh, you wouldn't mind giving us a hand, would ya? Please?"
Ataru winked with his hands pressed together in a pleading gesture. Luna did the same, except without the wink, and much more reserved.
An acceptance would be responded with a large Caenis happily wagging his tail, and the little one showing a faint smile with flushing cheeks, now a bit more hopeful that her journey would go well...

Every Player, without exceptions, have 100 HP.
At the start of Cycle 2 and every Cycle after, each member of the group (including the NPCs), will lose 1d10 Energy or HP . Each Token can be used to add 1d6 to the Joy of an activity, or to reduce the Energy or HP cost of it, or even recover it at any moment, from anyone (Players and NPC included). You can receive tokens in varied ways through the Challenge.
At the end of a Cycle, there will also be 'Inconveniences' and 'Conveniences', that may drain or add Joy , Energy or HP . Or cause a variety of positive and negative effects.
Each Cycle will have particular activities, and you may lead these activities by spending HP . Other players may participate in the activity too, generally for free, but some activites may allow the other players to help with the activity somehow, spending some HP . The costs and effects are noted in each activity. If the activity has a
icon, it means it triggers an Intermission. Not everyone needs to be in every activity, not even the NPCs.
When leading or participating an activity, in your post, RP what you will be doing, and how you will be doing. Regardless if the activity has an intermission or not, the NPCs related to it will react briefly to it, and you may reply back (with a 100 or less words post). The freeform way you approach an activity doesn't change its direct mechanical values, but may affect/trigger the Inconveniences, Conveniences, and the overall follow up of the Challenge.
You may post, lead or participate in as many activities as you wish, as long as you have muse to post and have HP to lead.
IF A PLAYER ISN'T SPENDING HP OR TOKEN IN A POST, THEIR POST CAN ONLY HAVE UP TO 100 WORDS, INCLUDING CODES. THEY DON'T NEED TO TAKE NOTE OF THEIR HP, OR ACTIONS EITHER.
Light Armor's Tokens are 1d8 instead of 1d6.
Medium Armor receive 1x Token at the start of every Cycle.
Heavy Armor do not lose 1d10 HP at the start of a Cycle.
Reaching 0 or negative Energy or HP means you can't receive benefits or lead activities any longer until you recover it above 0 somehow.
The objective is to keep Ataru and Luna's Joy as high as possible until the end of the Challenge.

Gentle Strolling
Take an aimless gentle stroll through the Streets of Finweald. It is a nice day, and may be a perfect time to just wander around carefreely.
The Lead spends 25 HP
Luna and Ataru spends 10 Energy .
Benefit. Luna and Ataru receive 5 Joy by strolling through Finweald, you catch points of interest, get used to the town, and make the Sun Claws more familiar and relaxed to the new ambient. Every Cycle until the end of this Challenge, will have one extra Convenience every Cycle.
The Lead of this activity, and those that have Knowledge as their highest Expertise, gain 1x Token .
Dancy Morning 🎬
Laura, the jolly bard, is singing, dancing and playing with her lovely lute in a crowded park. Even her small doggie is dancing too! Join them in this wonderful dance!
The Lead spends 30 HP
Participants may spend 10 HP to try to help with the Intermission.
Ataru spends 15 Energy . Luna spends 20 Energy .
Benefit. Luna and Ataru receives 15 Joy of bonus. A mini-challenge triggers an Intermission, which may give you more Joy without extra Energy costs.
The Lead of this activity, and those that have Harmonic Magic, Presence as their highest Expertise, or have Emotional Enhacing or Detection Racial Trait, gain 1x Token .
Complication. Someone has their attention on you. Until the end of the Challenge, you will have one extra occurring Inconvenience every Cycle.
Pause for Coffee 🎬
Paying a visit to The Faerie Wind is a perfect chance not only to have a good rest, but also to try wonderful pastries, tea and coffee!
Benefit. Everyone recovers 1d20 Energy or HP (Rolled individually).
It triggers a mini-challenge Intermission, where whoever succeeds, receives 1x Token .
Complication. If no one manages to succeed, Ataru and Luna loses 10 Joy .
Wonderful Scent
While you are walking, you feel a nice scent calling you. It is a small flower shop, called the Spring Call, and it is giving away some free flowers!
The Lead spends 20 HP
Ataru and Luna spends 5 Energy .
Benefit. Luna receives 10 Joy , Ataru receives 5 Joy of bonus.
The Lead of this activity, and those that have Nature Magic, Awareness as their highest Expertise, or have any Sensorial Enhancing Racial Trait gain 1x Token .
Complication. Ataru, and anyone else that has Smell Enhancing Racial Trait, spends 1d4 extra Energy or HP in the next two activities.
Garden of the Wishes
Paying a visit to the Garden of the Wishes, a beautiful garden, where reserves some of the nature from the mountain Finweald conquested for itself. It has beautiful statues, animals have some peace, and there is a pool where it is said that for every coin tossed into it, you take a step closer to achieving your wishes.
Ataru and Luna spends 10 Energy .
Benefit. Anyone may spend up to 1x Token to give 6 Joy (8 if Light Armor user) to Luna or Ataru. Those with Luck based Racial Traits, do not need to spend any Token and give Joy anyway.
Freedom
Do an activity made up by yourself, spending as much HP you wish, on multiples of 5. (5, 10, 15, 20...)
Ataru and Luna will spend as much Energy as it seems fitting, but will only spend a max equal to the lead's HP amount spent.
Benefit and Complication will be made based on the activity done.
Cycle 1 Rules
- Posts have a 100 words limit. If you are spending HP or Tokens in the post, you can use as many words as you wish in that particular post.
- You may post as many times as you wish in this Cycle.
- It is recommended to make a Build Sheet to know the value of your expertises, armor, and the actions you may have.
- Next Update: Probably next weekend, or earlier if everyone is done.
- Communication Thread can be used to communicate in more depth, but feel free to keep everything in here. NPCs may even continue further interaction in there.
