Personality
Freedom-loving, pleasure-seeking, and kind almost to a fault, Vina is happiest when she's wandering, not even for the sake of exploration but just for the exhilarating sensation of being free, enjoying the soft spring breeze and the autumn rain in equal amounts. For Vina life at the core really is to be enjoyed, for herself and for others. When she encounters someone new she'll immediately treat them as a friend, and she'll try her best to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves if she's present. She's outgoing, energetic, and seems to be completely lacking in both shame and hatred, almost never hesitating if the only source of that hesitation would be the possibility of embarrassing herself (also shown in her tendency to wear clothes that allow for a lot of freedom even if they don't conceal much), and while there might be people she can't get fully along with, there's no-one who she'd actually wish ill upon. She believes strongly in utilitarianism and ethical hedonism and actively tries to be understanding of everyone's perspectives and opinions, having a strong dislike for senseless violence and wishing to minimize pain and suffering if possible.
There's little difference between Vina in the virtual world and Vina in the physical world, as she never considered Terrasphere as an opportunity to be someone other than herself. This also means that she makes little effort to distinguish between the physical world and the virtual world, which can at times be confusing for the People of the Land if she forgets that they have no idea what she's talking about. On the other hand, she's absolutely insistent on treating the People of the Land with the same amount of care and kindness as people from her own world, as she sees no reason to believe they aren't sapient given how they behave.
While Vina isn't one to hate others or hold grudges she is capable of getting upset if faced with apparent needless cruelty, especially if it's directed at people who have no way of resisting. Her empathetic nature means she has a hard time ignoring the suffering of others, which can at times result in her feeling bad even for those who could arguably be considered villains. On the bright side, this means she tries her best to understand why people are doing things and tries her best to help everyone, rather than just picking a side and condemning the other.
Positive: Affectionate, Altruistic, Empathetic, Friendly, Selfless
Negative: Hedonistic, Libidinous, Naive, Pacifistic, Transgressive
Background
Born in Norway, Vina's life could be considered rather dull if looked at in broad terms. A happily married mother and father, two younger sisters and one older, with no serious incidents or accidents. Any real interesting parts of her youth originated from the girl herself, who in such a peaceful and happy atmosphere developed a very friendly and energetic personality. She never went so far as to outright eschew the more feminine side of life, but she found great joy in going outside, playing in the woods, and getting herself and her clothes dirty. While her sisters shared some of her energy none of them were quite as expressive as Vina, who didn't so much dislike doing nothing as that she just always found something to do. At school, her grades were decent but not exemplary, which mainly was attributed to her not being too interested in studying, in addition to having a rather specific lazy streak: her energy and passion were boundless whenever it came to anything she enjoyed, with a significant drop whenever it came to anything she did out of responsibility and necessity rather than personal interest. The two fields where she did shine were physical education and the art classes, and when it came to art she surpassed expectations. Lively and expressive as she was, to express herself even further through dance, music, drawings and paintings seemed to fit her like a glove.
It was that ability to turn her passion into art that got her a scholarship at the Rhode Island School of Design, where she flourished despite feeling sadness at being away from her family for an extended period for the first time. While she had gone to new places plenty of times, usually her family had been there with her or it had been a short trip, while now she had to deal with being away for years, with only short visits during the holidays. Nevertheless, she persevered, determined to keep enjoying life and if possible use her artistic skills to spread joy to others as well. Her opinion on how some people seemed to think that a piece of art that didn't include tragedy or some other negative emotion was immature was that writing a song about, for example, a dead friend wasn't going to be any more fun than actually having a friend die. It could be beautiful, it could help get the negative emotions out, but as long as she had the choice her fun-loving nature wasn't going to make tragic art for the sake of it being more mature.
For Vina, Terrasphere was essentially another opportunity to enjoy herself, in a new world with new interesting things to experience and a lot more friends to meet and make. Of course, this optimistic outlook was affected heavily when she came face to face with the darker side of this world. The realization that death in the game could result in one's demise in the real world was a heavy blow, and when the game was shut down Vina couldn't help but feel relieved. Now nobody else was at risk of meeting that same fate. However, there were still those people who were stuck in Terrasphere, who now were completely shut off from the world they were born and raised in.
With those worries lingering in her head Vina returned to life without Terrasphere, finishing her arts degree and starting her life as an artist. Fortunately, she managed to secure herself a steady income as a VTuber, using her Terrasphere avatar to represent herself online and produce art-oriented content, from tutorials to streamed performances. As the years passed she began to forget about Terrasphere, her worries only returning momentarily when reminded of it. There was nothing she could do about it, and while her concerns were genuine spending all her time freaking out would have helped nobody.
Of course, that was until she heard that people had found a way back into Terrasphere... A part of her didn't want to return, as she thought it was better to not enter a game that was known to kill people, but she knew that other people would return, and perhaps their chances of surviving were better if she was also there with her supportive skills. That, and she wanted to seek out those who had become trapped in Terrasphere and ensure they were doing all right, or as well as could be in such circumstances.
It's just a shame she couldn't stream Terrasphere.
