The following new announcement, written in Russian, was posted by one of the admins, Baba_Yaga_0, famous for their high-price bounties. Anyone following the IRC or the RSS feed would be notified immediately.

Simple, secure web hosting

Looking for one individual to set up a working front page from a specific source code. Access to domain, code, intranet, and server credentials will be provided after the deal is made.

Prerequisite: Speaks Russian. Able to implement AI-driven defense, quantum-resilient encryption, and zero trust architecture. Multi-cloud and DNS failover experience is a must.

Job Requirement: To set up the hosting of the page, implement security measures, and be willing to maintain it for at least one year.

Payment: Amount negotiable. Crypto or dead drop only.

"r3ify" was a newer name in the scene, but one that already had a few zero-day exploits and valuable leaks under their belt. Many were convinced that it was an old hat under a new name, but r3ify certainly wasn't telling.

What was known was they were probably American, and that they rarely took on jobs unless they were interesting.

Something like webhost security didn't really fit the profile.

The digital signature they send uses a more obscure protocol than most, but it's legitimate. Unless someone's been able to hijack the private key of a notoriously secure individual, that is.

In the secure container, there was the source code, but not the full one. After all, the death list was pretty extensive.

But the names, file structure, and signature should be easy for r3ify to recognize.

Jake paused, lollipop dangling from his mouth as he opened the file. Oh, it was certainly easy to recognize. Obfuscated as it was, he could always recognize his own work.

He glanced towards the kitchen. Aisling was grumbling as she babied the risotto he'd dumped on her the moment he'd gotten the notification. He hadn't expected to take the job - it was more about curiosity than intent.

But this? So soon after Aisling had barged into his room and demanded he take the server down? That was interesting. If someone was invested enough to want to put it back up, then they were worth digging into.

And maybe it'd even get little Ice to get out of her slump. It be a shame for her to give up dancing on the edge. It had been quite the show.

Phone rang.

"You're not even gonna ask who this guy is?"

Ending the call, he just inched closer to the entrance of the great bathroom, knocking the wall twice.
