Chrys had never wanted to be a babysitter. Even in the real world, the idea of looking after children or young adults terrified him, which could explain his divorce at a young age and subsequent short-term relationships. Well, before Song, anyway. Regardless, in this world, it seemed that the tragic fate wasn't sparing him. So far, he's been saddled with whippersnappers he played chaperone for: starting with @Leyna and now his two companions that he can never seem to get rid of, @Ayna Nietzsche and @Kamala Graham.

If he remembered correctly, this was all Kamala's idea. Chrys was not a religious man. He was barely spiritual. But Kamala had promised him free food if he went along with this freak show, and thus, he went through the motions with little to no interest. What good is a blessing, anyway, when you have to pay for it? I'm here in this game to get rich, not lose gold. Bollocks.

Still, it was better than getting railed on by that lander woman who technically owns all of his shitty businesses.

@Raid Boss (I am too stupid to understand the Fate Die thing but Chrys took it twice and his last roll was a 4 for October 2033 if that helps?)

Uene's Shrine, Valley of the Sun

It felt like home. From the torii to the kimono, Ayna felt like she belonged in this place. The sights and sounds and smells, all of it were familiar to her. As if she wasn't even in the game right now. As if she was back at home with friends.

"Follow her."

She quietly threatened @Chrys, narrowing her eyes at him. Ayna had been playing with the massive mountain man for as long as she could remember that she was now quite familiar with his greed and apathy. There was no way in hell she was going to let him ruin this moment for @Kamala Graham. It was the least she could do for her friend, for everything that she had sacrificed and helped her within the past year. Next year, I'll finally get to repay all your kindness, Kamala.

When it was her turn, Ayna breezed through the entire process. Perhaps it was muscle memory or perhaps it was just natural to her. Whatever the case may be, she offered both gold and incense to the goddess and her priest, at her shrine, so that her little gift may allow for this tradition to continue, to live on. No one knew how tradition mattered, how it made people better, better than Ayna. Wherever she went, or looked, it would always be around her.

"Well aren't you guys cool? Dunno about the others, but I'm pretty entertained. Thanks for your hard work,"

Instantly @Erick Stryker would find two furry puppets in his face filling his vision with their yip yapping.

"Heyhey look at this one Ni! He says we'rre prrretty enterrtaining yip yip yap!"

"Yeye thank you kindly Do you need anything, wearry traveler? Yap yap yip!"

"A yearr dies as a new one begins. Just like the sun and moon! Yip yip yap!"

"So do you need a charrm of good forrrtune! Yap yap yip!"

"Trust me, you need it human friend♥."

The puppets were swung behind her back. The redhead was thin and extremely lithe and lean-muscled for a caenis. to the uninitiated perhaps she could even be mistaken for the more delicately built felis. Her motions were smooth as she eyed the fil- kind human.

"....so? See those happy customers? Supplying humans with services is expected in our modern culture. What can I offerr you?"

She leaned back as her rear hit the counter Then placed both hands (still wearing the puppet gloves), upon its surface (are those puppets actually wiggling as if they are being smothered by doing this?). An earring in one of her ears dangled down very low next to her cheek. Jingling as she moved. The gypsy-like attire truly did contrast strongly here. Now half sitting on the counter with legs dangling off the edge and the tips of her clawed feet digging claw marks into the ground as they swayed. A light amount of smoke rose out from the marks She smiled, showing her fangs, and slowly moved her tongue from across her top row of teeth. She gestured with her head towards the items at her booth.

"A bit of a random question, but would you happen to have a meat dagger for sale?"

"...?"

The crimson eyes shifted to @Ueno Mizuki as she seemed frozen in place for a moment. Her smile was still present but it was obvious she was alarmed by something. Her tail had stopped swaying smooth leg movement halted entirely. For a moment only the low death metal track was playing. If one could understand the ridiculously garbled words maybe "Shoot shoot shoot 'em motherfuckers dead!" might be made out.

Then she perked up.

Sliding her hands out of the puppets she showed the heterochromatic wolf a single long clawed fingernail.

"A meat dagger? Arren't we civilized? The only things sharp I carry are natural."

The sheer disgust in her voice dripped with vitriol. Shrugging she took in a deep breath of air through her nose and looked away from the wolf dismissively. now returning her gaze to Erick

"What do you want? I have entertaining to do so make it snappy human."

The alarming sensation that Mizuki was feeling only got worse once the red-haired shopkeeper looked back at her. From the way that the other caenis reacted to seeing her, she was feeling something similar as well, which strengthened it even further. Something was wrong here, even if Mizuki had no idea what. She'd never seen this person before, she was sure of that, but her eyes still went wide for a moment before her right eye, usually a brilliant gold like you'd expect from a wolf, turned bloody red instead, contrasting sharply with her icy blue left eye.

She might have tried to explain that the only reason she was interested in a meat dagger was because of the fortune she got, but with the sharp mood swing the shopkeeper displayed while talking to her all thought of the fortune had left her mind, if only briefly. Instead her eyes focused on the clawed nail the other caenis was showing to her, then went to the female's face even though she'd already turned away.

...My mistake.

Rather than sticking around she quickly turned and walked away, leaving the now irritated puppetmaster to talk to the other Traveler. After several steps she noticed that her right eye had changed colour, along with her fur beginning to bristle and the white highlights turning dark, her claws also having grown. She glanced over her shoulder at her booth, only her sanguine right eye visible before she shook her head and took a deep breath, her features returning to normal. Had she been feeling so threatened that it had triggered her fight-or-flight response? That didn't make any sense either.

She'd have dismissed it as merely her imagination if it wasn't for the fact that the red-haired stall owner had treated her with more disdain than any request for a meat dagger justified. She had no clue what had just transpired but decided that it would be better to stay away from the booth for the rest of the celebration. Maybe she could now find Zelrius and ask him how he was doing: she hadn't seen him in a while.

So do you need a charrm of good forrrtune! Yap yap yip!

Trust me, you need it human friend♥.

Erick smiled as he looked between the puppet and its master, affording them the courtesy of watching the show play out rather than dismissing it or asking to cut to the chase. Many people had already shown her their short fuses, it seemed, because she was in a foul mood when he'd arrived. The mask of customer service, however, hid any contempt from plain view.

She sat with her legs hanging over the booth and let her body sway. She clawed absently at the dirt and smoke billowed from the resultant trenches. The look on her face was almost devilish. Erick had to admit, there was something absolutely beautiful about dangerous women, even if he didn't want to be on the receiving end.

....so? See those happy customers? Supplying humans with services is expected in our modern culture. What can I offerr you?

He was about to speak up when another person, a Caenis, spoke up.

A bit of a random question, but would you happen to have a meat dagger for sale?

His eyes moved from the speaker to the red-haired woman, watching her reaction. She was like ice in that moment, a characteristic that contrasted everything about her. Erick could tell that the question had provoked a response that she was suppressing.

A meat dagger? Arren't we civilized? The only things sharp I carry are natural.

It became immediately and abundantly clear that there was contempt for the other Caenis in her words. She disliked the abstract notion of civilization and domestication? Erick tilted his head and eyed the fingernail she'd displayed for Mizuki. As she dismissed the other beastfolk and looked back to Erick, he felt a pang of sadness in his chest.

He had created Erick with the idea of supporting and protecting others. Healing wounds, treating diseases, helping people to recover from even the worst of losses. But something told him there was a deep seated... something in this woman that even he couldn't cure.

If she disliked the other Caenis, he didn't want to think about what she thought about him.

What do you want? I have entertaining to do so make it snappy human.

Her immediately soured attitude wasn't altogether alarming, but he had a mind to leave it at that. If he just gave her money and didn't accept something though. it could be looked upon as charity, and he didn't want to offend her. Instead...

"I'd like something from your culture," he said, "something you think is important. Fair trade. My hard earned money for a chance to learn more about you and yours. Does that work?"

Even with @Ueno Mizuki having left, the encounter still left a particular impression on the wanderer. Now she was faced with this man @Erick Stryker and decided that perhaps this would be the last "client" for today. There were a couple of places she needed to be. The feeling she felt only reminded her of the need to follow through.

Never forgive, never forget.
The Primal Rage of one's honor subdued and destroyed
The everlasting all-consuming Infernal Vendetta. to purge the outworlders that build a nation on the bones of the Rightful Queen shall never be extinguished

" I'd like something from your culture, something you think is important. Fair trade. My hard earned money for a chance to learn more about you and yours. Does that work?"

"...money separates us from the beasts. Who can say no to that♥?"

Standing on her feet again, the lithe caenis took out a bleached white object. Upon further inspection, it looked to be half of a skull. It was bulky and had features similar to that of an orc or goblin than a human or caenis.

Taking her finger she ran it over the inside of the skull as if drawing in a bowl of bone. It sizzled as a burning scent lingered from where she drew.

"Do you know of the Kamuy? You humans, worship gods and have been said to see yourselves as such beings.. but we know. Uene granted us the blessings of the Kamyu. Among them is one of great power that I follow... one who had selected me as a child of fire."

Between the ironically nostalgic aura of the tamed caenis from earlier and now being asked about her culture. The redhead became somber, the tip of unspeakable rage just waiting to emerge.

"Not many know of the symbol of power. That Kamyu will certainly protect you and offer you grreat fortune human. I am one with power and.... sooo.. herrrre♥!"

Finishing, the wily beastfolk showed Erick the symbol she carved into it with a sort of squeal that matched her face but not the intense heat of her presence. A sly smirk formed on her face and one fang glistened as her eyelids lowered some.

"All of my items come with this lovely charm free of charge! Now you can join the others in having a wonderful new yearrr! ...you do have to pay for the skull teehee!"

Then she put out her hand and tapped her foot. If he gave her the money she would drop the skull into his hand and avoid touching him as much as possible. The mark was basically some sort of combination of burnt lines. With her last sale and the group that watched her having moved on. The fiery female began to pack up.

She had done enough here...

Erick was ever a man of his word.

He could sense the hostility that she expertly masked, but there would be no reconciliation of her feelings if he never showed compassion or kindness. He heard her words, listened carefully as she spoke of the Kamuy- a word he'd never heard himself, but if she likened them unto gods, he understood the gist.

Fire- the will of fire- manifested within her. He couldn't place what her intentions were, but she freely spoke and continued, so he waited patiently.

Not many know of the symbol of power. That Kamyu will certainly protect you and offer you grreat fortune human. I am one with power and.... sooo.. herrrre♥!

As promised, he produced more gold and dropped it into her hand, fully aware that she avoided touching him. Whether it was disdain or something else, he didn't know, nor would he ask.

All of my items come with this lovely charm free of charge! Now you can join the others in having a wonderful new yearrr! ...you do have to pay for the skull teehee!

Mood
His hand held out, he accepted the trinket she offered. Part of him wanted to walk backward through time, to witness whatever had brought her to this point. To understand why she was upset with the other Caenis, or what prompted this otherworldly heat that was beyond his comprehension. He knew he shouldn't trust it.

But to gain trust, one had first to give it.

"I thank you for your patience, your kindness, and the wisdom of your people," he said with a bow. He held his head low before her even as she moved to pack up her things. "I wish I had better to offer than coin, but I hope what I've given you will stand in place of something more substantial."

With that, Erick stood upright- and he left her to her business.

It wasn't like Yugam to be this late. Normally, he was fairly punctual, and more often than not, early. Not today though. With Val staying at his house, and Nico too, Ari had spent far too long trying to make sure the kids were fed and ready before their evening dive. And that had meant a lot of food, especially given the New Years holiday they were celebrating. And lots of food meant lots of dishes.

But, they'd muddled through somehow, and now they were all here waiting to enter the shrine. Except @Fiora Di Angelo . "Where in the hell did she go?" Yugam wondered aloud, a hint of annoyance in his voice.
"Did you expect anything else?" the kimono-clad sword-spirit asked beside him.
"Uh, yeah, kinda?" the man replied, slightly taken aback. "She's not usually one to ditch her friends."
"Makes you wonder if you guy's are really her friends."
"Unmei-"
"Sorry, sorry,"
the spirit apologized. "I just don't like how she treats you, okay? You're right though, it is a little weird that she disappeared." Yugam paused for a moment, staring at the spirit in surprise. "What?"
"Since when were you nice?"

Unmei stuck her tongue out at her wielder. "I'm always nice, right Luth?" the girl said, suddenly grabbing onto the elf's arm and clinging onto her.
Yugam couldn't muster anything more than a roll of his eyes as they finally made it passed the torii gate, and Yugam handed over a sack of gold. "Thank you," he said softly, bowing respectfully.

She hadn’t expected to enjoy a christmas season again so soon, and if someone had tried to convince her that this year would’ve ended with such joy and cheer back in January the girl would’ve called them a liar. Nothing would’ve been able to predict the many twists and turns of events that she would go through it, or the dear and close friends she would meet along the way, and while there had been rough patches here and there in the end they’d say goodbye to 2033 and hello to 2034 with big smiles on their faces—along with delicious foods and drinks.

Thankfully she’d had the forethought to bring her VR as the girl dropped into Philly for the holidays, crimson eyes currently switching from Yugam to Unmei and back as the pair wondered out loud about the whereabouts of Fiora. A light smile was on her lips as she did the best to not interrupt them, too amused by the exchange to even try and butt into the conversation.

"Since when were you nice?"
"I'm always nice, right Luth?"

The giggles that Lúthien had been holding onto were finally released when the sword-spirit stuck her tongue out at the hunter, shifting closer to the ranger instead before the dark-haired woman clung to her arm. "Mhmm, absolutely! Yu here would know that if he paid attention~" The impish smile on her lips showed that the girl was more than happy to play accomplice with the spirit, going far enough to stick her own tongue out at the man too as Lúthien remained arm-in-arm with Unmei.

"Besides it’s not too hard to guess where she probably ran off to—or rather to whom."

A part of Val was sure that, if it had been possible, Nico would’ve wanted for Ronja to be present with them in Philly too for the holidays—so she couldn’t blame the white-haired elf for disappearing the second she’d logged into the game to find her girlfriend. Little by little they edged closer to their destination as the line moved, finally passing the massive torii gate that caught the ranger’s full attention, before they were guided to leave their footwear behind before heading into the inner sanctuary.

"Thank you for having us~"

There was a bright smile on her face as Lúthien received the small pouch with a hidden Uene’s blessing within, the girl bowing softly to mimic Yugam’s movements before she apparated two items from her inventory. One was a little sack filled with gold coins, the outer parts of it having been adorned with various stitches to imitate the few native flowers that Lúthien had managed to learn were from this valley. The other was an adorned glass bottle, still cold to the touch, that contained some of the original coquito recipe that she’d prepared not too long ago in the Embertorch.

Both were handed to the priest along with a final bow, before the girl followed Yugam and Unmei off to the side so others could take their turn and receive blessings.

The end of a year meant little to some, to many a great deal. She stood on a thin line between these two, now moreso than ever she wished time would go slower, but in a flash had they gone all the way through december and reached the infamous last leg of the year.

And for it she apparently had to dress up different, as a traveler's garbs were nothing fit for a shrine to her disdain, and so a kimono would have to do despite it's shortcomings. For one, anything with a skirt made her feel immobile, and secondly, it meant forcing @Yugam and @Luthien to wait, specially since @Ronja Bubblyfoot needed to get herself one too.
In the end they would make it to the group whose mouths parrot vividly about what she ain't at ears's reach, specially Unmei and Yugam, who seemed the most active in that conversation.

"Fits ya' well, Princess. We missing our royal carriage though, don't you think." She gave a peek back at Ronja, a smile across the corner of her lips helped with her sour mood. The whole 'favours and blessings' were a fool's errand, something she's told the magia several times on their way here. The gods grant no favours, they got no needs. Only wants. "Come on, I missed you for Christmas, but I ain't missing you for New Year. Let's get this shrine visit down and go eat something with the gang." Fiora squeezed Ronja's hand lightly so.

"Had to take a little detour to a clothing stall." She said with a drawn out sigh, eyes flickering from Yugam to Luthien. "Come on let's get going, I'm starving and I ain't stayin' in there for too long." Lightly ushering the group forward. Lightly, or more like close to shoving them given the raw meathead strength the elf possessed that still proved too hard for her to keep under control, giving them the benefit of going in first and receive their own little blessing before following suit.

The interactions were kept minimal, out of respect for the priest and the people who did believe in Uene in the first place, her features turning into the faintest scowl once there was a far more personal requirement of an item, an offering. And from her belongings came a wolf's fang, dryed blood stains are a tell of just how long it's been since the prey's been felled, and a gold coin. A tooth for a deity, a gold for a priest, at least that way it made sense to her.

Ronja's cheeks flushed at @Fiora Di Angelo's words, and her gaze slowly shifted to the elf. "If Ronja had enough time, she could try to build one... But this was an unexpected surprise." Ronja admitted, tilting her head slightly. "She wasn't expecting you to go for something that revealing though-" She said, looking Fiora up and down for a moment, before softening her expression.

"Of course, let's have fun." Ronja smiled, squeezing Fiora's hand back, and hurrying.

As they approached, Ronja brimmed seeing @Luthien and @Yugam, waving. "Yuu, Luthy, hello!" She greeted, looking at both of them in slight awe. "You are both looking beautiful... And you are matching?" Her eyebrow rose, curious about the similar color palette from both of them.

Matching clothes was so cheesy. Ronja loved it!

As they approached the offering, Ronja took some coins, and then rested two fingers on her head, with her replay feature activating as she carefully plucked out a small arcanamantic marble, tossing it into the offering as well.

A copy of her happy memories of the year, that she hoped would be just one of many.

Vina arrived at the shrine late, having spent the day before partying and thus having woken up late despite having intended to get up before noon to join the celebrations of the Sun Claw. Fortunately she'd arrived before evening, even if she had to use some magic to hasten her journey.

Now that she had arrived she checked whether her clothes were in order even as she looked around. The celebrations were already in full swing, and as a small stroke of good luck her late arrival meant that the queue before the torii gate had dwindled, most people already having received their blessing and now partaking in various other activities around the shrine. There were several people here that she'd met before as part of a group activity, but nobody she could really say she was close to. That was a bit of a shame, and a part of her wished she'd dragged one of her friends along, but given that she was responsible for her own tardiness she wasn't really in a position to complain.

Joining the shrinking queue for the blessings Vina hummed to herself, smiling and waving to anyone who knew her well enough to greet her. Maybe after the blessings she could look around and have a little bit of fun, make some more friends in the process.

With the queue being short it didn't take long for Vina to enter the inner sanctuary of the shrine, obediently taking off her shoes despite winter's chill taking the opportunity to bite at her toes. Not wanting to remain barefoot for any longer than needed she headed inside quickly, where her offering to the shrine and the goddess Uene was a bottle of high quality wine from the Rokishire inn.

Even the gods can appreciate a good drink, can't they?

Accepting the blessing Vina smiled and thanked the priest and the shrine maidens, returning their wishes for her fortune with her own. For them to set all this up every year must be a lot of effort, and she wanted them to know that she appreciated it even if this was her first time coming here.

Leaving the sanctuary she'd first rub her toes and put her shoes back on, glad to no longer have to resist the urge to shiver, before finally opening the blessing and reading the contents.

Since when had those two gotten so close, Yugam wondered as he looked at both Luthien and Unmei as if they were aliens. This was too weird. Had he woken up in an alternate reality or something? Possibly. But, as strange as it was, Yugam supposed it wasn't a bad thing that the two were finally getting along. It was better than Unmei shooting Luth dirty looks all the time, or having to listen to her nag him about his choice of friends. They weren't even half bad, in Yugam's opinion.

"Besides it's not too hard to guess where she probably ran off to—or rather to whom," Luthien pointed to which Yugam nodded. "Ah, right," the man nodded in response. Made sense. "Speak of the devil," Yugam looked past the two girls and right at two other girls, waving slightly.

"Had to take a little detour to a clothing stall." Now it was Fiora's turn to get an 'are you fucking okay?' stare. She wasn't exactly congenial, but wow. Either Fiora was on really good behavior due to Ronja, or he really was in an alternate reality. "What, no insult? Not gonna punch me out the gate this time?" the man asked before turning towards the blue haired magia and smiling politely. "Nice to see you again, Ronja."
"You are both looking beautiful... And you are matching?"

The man looked at his own outfit, then to Luth's. "Yeah," he chuckled, "yeah we are."

Lúthien had been quite excited to receive the small fortune pouch from the priest, an excited smile on her face as she followed the others to a place that wouldn’t have them in the way of things. Carefully her fingers had pried it open to reveal Uene’s hidden blessing, though the excitement that had emanated from the elf had soon dampened considerably as she read the contents.

She tried very hard to not let her disappointment show, after all this was meant to be a joyous occasion with friends, but a pout still found its way to her lips even as her brows furrowed faintly. It didn’t matter how many times those crimson eyes swept over the paper, the writing still remained the same: Disaster to Come

"Yuu, Luthy, hello!"
"Had to take a little detour to a clothing stall."

Her attention finally turned back to her friends when Fiora and Ronja finally joined them, the tag delicately placed back into its pouch, before returning Ronja’s greeting with a bright and chipper smile of her own. "Hey! Glad you guys could make it~" Her eyes strayed towards the tree besides the shrine for a few moments, its branches already covered in plenty of areas with the misfortunes that other players and Landers alike had received, before a light chuckle escaped the girl as Yugam took a vernal shot towards the white-haired elf.

"Careful what you wish for, Yu~" Lthien shook her head softly, her attention turning back to Fiora and Ronja as she got a better glance of the clothes they had picked out for the occasion."I see the Sun Claws also got their hands on you guys, you’re both looking stunning."

A nod of approval was given to their chosen outfits along with some praise, before the ranger suddenly found herself on the receiving end of Ronja’s own compliments as the magia made a pointed observation. "Aah y-yeah, we are…" It quickly felt like the temperature around them had been raised by a degree or two, the elf aware of the rising warmth that crossed her cheeks and the tip of her ears.

It hadn’t been her full intention to match with Yugam when they had first chosen to dress up for the occasion but, once she’d seen the man pick out his apparent choice, her hands had soon found themselves holding the furisode she currently wore. A sheepish smile was given to the man beside her as he also confirmed Ronja’s remark, before the blonde leaned over just enough to gently bump her shoulder against his.

"Maybe next time. As fun as it sounds to build something from scratch," A bit of sarcasm from her side, given how terrible she is at the task. "I rather we do something less time consuming."
"She wasn't expecting you to go for something that revealing though-"
"I need breathing room, and kimonos don't offer any. It's not THAT revealing eitherway." Is it? Fiora looked down to herself and her arms. Uncertain if to believe Ronja or not, but she gets where she's coming from now.

Yet comparatively, the luck gacha they all took from said something to sour her mood for at least half a second after delivery. Nothing she didn't expect, neither to care. These were just scraps of paper with a little text on them, It's opinion worth as much as a farting goat in a hurricane. But instead of dumping it over the floor, Fiora held to it for the time being, if only to do so later after their departure.

"What, no insult? Not gonna punch me out the gate this time?" He even gave her a weird look. Was he also staring at her clothes or something? Ronja making mention of it just made her all the more self-aware at this point.
"Careful what you wish for, Yu~"
"In any other circumstance, Luth would be right. But this place is important to these people. I'm not going to desecrate it,"
She paused to give a better glance at the matching pair, and how Luthien reacted to Ronja's observations, opposite of Yugam who felt all too cocky about it, which prompted her to add- "But if you really want it, we can always arrange it for later."

"I see the Sun Claws also got their hands on you guys, you're both looking stunning."
At the very least, her fellow elf had something nice to say about her outfit, unlike little magia over here and possibly Yugam too, all too judgemental with that idol-looking face of his. "You look like the stars themselves weaved your clothes." Deadpan tone to meet her compliment, only to turn over and wave a hand towards Yugam. "Yours look like shit, but it does compliment your face." The same delivery for these words, lacking in aggression or excitement, aswell as a sagely nod out of the knightess as if this were the law: he looks like crap, she looks amazing.

Moving toward the temple, Kyanna made sure to keep herself in the thematics of the occasion, even if she wasn't quite used to wearing this kind of outfit.

Thankfully, asking people's help turned out fruitful this time.

As soon as she spotted the familiar face, she approached from behind, fast enough to hear the words escaping from her lips.

"That the year brings us good luck and that we may bring a lot of luck for others too!" Kyanna added to @Magi Heart's words, smiling before tossing her own offer into it, being a small bag of coins and an edible mushroom of a very eerie color.

"What sort of blessing did you get?" She asked, curious before peeking at the direction of another familiar face, bringing another big smile to her face as she waved at @Shadow friendly.

"You better tell me what luck you got for this year too!" She exclaimed from afar, wondering if he even saw her.

"That the year brings us good luck and that we may bring a lot of luck for others too!"

@Kyanna Wynne 's voice brought a shy smile to Magi's face. Seeing the witch without her hat was a little surprising but the new outfit also was super pretty!

Luck... another concept that brings suffering. One people person's luck is another misfortune.

Hush!

"What sort of blessing did you get?"

Wendy took this as a chance to drown out her thoughts. Although she had to think up why she hadn't received one yet. Her personal issues were not something she wanted to divulge with her fairly new friend.

"That's such a pretty outfit, you look great Kyanna! I um... it's a secret. If I tell you the priestess lady said it will become really bad."

Magi's brows furrowed as an angry look passed momentarily.

HEY! Don't lie like that, gee whiz I was talking!

We were talking *giggle*. Look she's dumb just work with it. Or do you want her digging into our business and learning what we are?"

Wiping the look off she just laughed awkwardly and tilted her head. Thankfully Kyanna had looked away to another person.... oh. He was so familiar but not really? There were a lot of players that liked that look so maybe she was mistaken. It didn't help that her memories were always coming and going...

The Underpants Man of Unrivaled Power!

What?! Magi simply stood still from Wendy's shock at Wendel's title for the dark-clad youth @Shadow.

"Hey, @Kyanna Wynne, didn't expect you all the way out here. You really decided to hike up this way, huh? I'm about to get into the queue to get my new year's blessing now. Stick around and I'll give you a peak of my fortune. Though, this feels eerily similar to the shrine visit in Japan, even though it's clearly not Japan. What a strange game," Kiriya commented.

"By the way, you should wear non-witchy clothing more often, it suits you," he made a side comment.

He then turned toward @Magi Heart, who's also wearing a kimono. "Oh hey, it's you. Have you been well? The dark power has yet to consume you?"

Kiriya was nonchalant even though Magi was looking at him with a really strange expression. He didn't know a thing about the title the other Magi had given him in her head, clearly.

"Ah, crap. The line is shortening. Seeya later," Kiriya excused himself as the line thinned out, giving him a chance to slip into the queue of people waiting to receive their blessing.

...

Within a few minutes, Kiriya came back to Kyanna's side and flaunted his Small Blessing toward her. "It looks like Uene is smiling a little at me this year. Aren't you going to go get yours?"

"It is nice to see you as well." Ronja said with a small smile to @Yugam, casting a glance at @Luthien as she complimented her outfit, making Ronja share the same amount of warmth in her own cheeks. "Thank you, Luthy. They did a great job." She said, tracing a hand on her obi, but also revealing a playful smirk when noticing the embarrassment of the elf.

Her gaze then shifted to @Fiora Di Angelo, with an eyebrow raising in both curiosity and confusion. "Punch him out of the gate? Fiora, are you doing this kind of things to your friends?" She frowned, a bit in a scolding expression.

The following rude words from her knight made Ronja poke her side with the elbow, perhaps with a bit more force than it would be for a comfortable poke.

"Don't be rude, we are in a peaceful place..." She pouted in disapproval.

"Aw, thank you, Magi!" Kyanna beamed with her cheeks flushing faintly, suppressing the urge of simply tackling @Magi Heart with a hug since that would cause a terrible accident. "You look very wonderfully cute too. Pink and red does fit you so well!" She giggled, then pausing and raising an eyebrow at her reveal.

"Really? The priestess didn't tell me anything. But I'm sure a goddess that gives blessings wouldn't do something bad!" She smiled, but also didn't press on for the pinkette to tell her. After all, secrets are secrets.

When @Shadow approached, Kyanna turned to face him, with the compliment adding up on the flush on her cheeks, that turned redder. "Hehe, you think so? Maybe I should try it more times then." She swirled her index around her bangs, blinking twice before looking up at him. "You should as well. But I think you have more outfits than me."

The mention of 'dark powers' soon made all the sheepishness of Kyanna fade, making her confused and nearly bringing a question out of her mouth, but the mention of the line did snatch her as well. "W-Wait, I need to-- I will be right back, Magi!" She hurried herself.

--------

Kyanna hurried back as soon as she could, letting out a sigh and smiling faintly at Magi. "It seems like she didn't want me to have a great luck this time, I think I jinxed it even though you warned me." She giggled, slightly worried, though, the worries disappeared when the other blessing was revealed.

"Oooh! That's so cool, Kirius! The goddess must like you."
