It had been all fun and games as the majority of the table’s banter piled on Nico, though the amused grin on her lips was soon wiped as the pinkett leaned closer to Val. "I'm gonna delete your Patreon." She’d just popped another piece of chicken into her mouth too when the unexpected revelation came and caused the blonde to choke up. A hand reached for her beer, taking longer gulps of it this time around, as the promise of a pending conversation tonight was dropped onto her lap.

The silent exchange had caused the blonde to fall quiet for a few moments, her eyes following the pink gremlin as Nico whirled her attention towards Ari next—and shortly after to Dayeon when she was caught off-guard by the buldak that the idol had prepared for them all.

"Are you sure you're not Korean?" Valeria’s attention was finally snapped back from wherever it had wandered off to when Dayeon spoke, blinking in surprise for a second before the blonde gave a light shrug of her shoulders. "Dunno, your guess is as good as mine really." The only person that could shed any light on that answer had vehemently refused to do so, and eventually the blonde had given up on ever finding out. "All I know is that I’m a quarter Puerto Rican and another quarter Italian."

A pointed look was given back at Nico then as a teasing smirk tugged at the corners of Val’s lips then. "One that can actually twirl her pasta~" If she was already in deep waters then she might as well cannonball right into them.

"There's something fucking wrong with you two."
"Nuh-uh, it’s not our fault you both have weak palates~"

Not that Valeria was about to complain in this case since it meant Dayeon and her had more fried chicken to enjoy. Soon enough the food was done and their plates empty, and when Dayeon had started gathering them up she’d been about to follow suit—at least until Ari stopped them both and volunteered himself and Nico to do the dishes instead, and by the look on his face it seemed like he wouldn’t take ‘no’ for an answer.

"Whoever came up with buldak is a genius," Her attention turned to Dee once again, the girl taking another sip of her beer. "Can’t wait to try other Korean dishes now."

"Why? I only put half of the usual amount, though." Dayeon thought this was normal, it 's clear she was born in the fire elemental plane. Nico just didn't know how to react to that information, and at this point she gave up in insulting the woman any further, if only because, no sooner as she opened her lips, Ari became a drone and started to drop facts she forgot when she asked for.

"Spaghetti is a type of pasta." He said while waving his fork at her.
"SPooGheTtI Is a tAip Of PaStA." Nico followed, tongue lolled halfway out, her thumbs and point fingers meeting to make circles. Circles that she put over her eyes to simulate glasses.
"A pasta dish is something you make with aforementioned spaghetti, or any pasta for that matter."
"A pAStA dIsh iS SOmEtHin u MakE wIth aForEMEntIOnEd sPAGoOThi, oR aNy PAsTa FOr THaT maTtER."
"Your ancestors are probably rolling their graves right now,"
"YoUr AnCeStORS aRe pRobAbLbY rOllIng ThEir GraVeS rIGHt NOw."
She then turned over to Val, with her goofy look in full display for the puerto rican. "Im VeRY sMuRt." She said, on her manliest voice possible, which was a pitiful attempt. Nico didn't think he had much of a man's voice eitherway, since he so wished to wear the 'gay friend' title. "I'm gonna stick a broom up your ass and twirl it like pasta, Val. You gonna feel just how much of an italian I can be." She left none of them go without a verbal gutpunch, specially the puerto rican who dared to defy her twice in a row, and in all this, Ari was her only ally against these two psychopaths.

"There's something fucking wrong with you two."
"Nuh-uh, it's not our fault you both have weak palates~"
"Distract these two Ari, I'm gonna call 911 on them right fucking now."
She stood up to her feet just as he had to drag her over with his fuckboy stare to do the dishes, a weary sigh made her realize she couldn't escape dish washing this time around... "Fucker sleeps, lets Dayeon cook, and then makes me do the dishes with him." But given she had nothing else to do, might aswell help him out for once.

It's been the 30th time in a row she made him do the dishes, so might aswell break the streak, however painful that was.

"Sit your ass Dayeon,"

"Alright, alright."
Having lived alone most of the time, it felt weird to let someone else wash the dishes in front of her. She sat back and enjoyed the strawberry juice, conversing with Valeria.

"Can’t wait to try other Korean dishes now."

"I'll guarantee you'll like it," The idol nodded with enthusiasm at the blonde, having found someone with a similar palate to her. "Maybe I'll bring you to my favorite Korean Barbeque place one day."

Looking at her phone, she noticed that it's actually been a while since they first arrived. Stretching, the two-tone-haired woman stood up while motioning to the stairs. "Uh, today we're not doing anything big, right?" She asked, "I'm gonna go upstairs and rest a bit."

It's quite surprising it took Dayeon this long before she got tired, since she had driven, gone shopping, and cooked right after they landed in Hawaii.

She proceeded to go up into her room and buried her face in the pillow, resting her eyes for a bit.

There truly was no end to Nico's childishness, was there? The woman (who was two or three years older than him, mind you) tried to mock him in about the same way a fourth grader would, while Ari just deadpan stared into her eyes as he slowly at his pasta. He twirled it. Without looking. Like a real fucking human being.

But, you know what they say. There is nothing that can unite enemies like a common, greater, threat. And that threat right now, was whatever fucking inhuman species that was Dayeon and Valeria. "Distract these two Ari, I'm gonna call 911 on them right fucking now."
"Hey look, it's a bird, its a plane! Oh, wait, no, its just Nico's dignity and sense of pride...I was wondering where those went..."

Unsurprisingly, Nico complained at being forced to do the dishes, but at least she was helping this time. Ari scrubbed, Nico dried. Easy as that.

"Uh, today we're not doing anything big, right?"
Ari could here Dayeon say from across the kitchen. "I'm gonna go upstairs and rest a bit."
"Nah, I think we're just hanging out?"
Ari looked to Nico and Val, "You guys wanna play some cards or anything? Crack open some beers or something? It's still pretty early."

"Look, it’s not our fault you guys can’t handle a bit of spice," The antics of both Ari and Nico received an eye roll from Valeria, but the ever present grin on her lips was a clear sign that the blonde was enjoying herself too. There was no need to look at her plate as she twirled her fettucini—no need to make her own grandmother roll in her grave—continuing to alternate the pasta with deliciously spicy and crunchy chicken bites. "The premade alfredo even cuts the heat by at least half, if not a bit more."

As the not!siblings disappeared into the kitchen to wash their dishes, pots, and pans Valeria turned her attention towards Dayeon as the two girls conversed.

"I'll guarantee you'll like it, maybe I'll bring you to my favorite Korean Barbeque place one day."
"The second I’m in your zip code that’s gonna be the first place we visit~"

A part of her felt like a lifetime and then some had passed between them since their last conversations, but little by little the blonde began to feel at ease in the company of her friends once more… she could only hope that time truly healed all wounds as the saying went. "I'm gonna go upstairs and rest a bit." Initial surprise crossed her face before the blonde nodded in response, her own body tired from packing her suitcase and the long flight she’d taken to reach Hawaii… but she still wasn’t ready to call it quits for the night.

"You guys wanna play some cards or anything? Crack open some beers or something?“
"Sure, I’m gamed~" She flashed a grin at the man before heading towards the fridge. "After all, the beers aren’t gonna drink themselves right?"

Betrayal. That's all she could do to describe what Ari had done. When she felt like teaming up would be the most appropiate outcome, and even played her cards on it, the man backstabbed her just as soon as she gave him the barest of opportunities for it.

Her neck cranked on his direction. Determination a fire igniting within her eyes.

"The only thing you can pride yourself for is that you got someone like Val even so much as staring in your direction. Couse you have as much dignity as I have money."

Just having to do dishes with the motherfucker who backstabbed her like that... She complained TWICE as hard for it.

Eventually though it would be the turn to look over at Dayeon as the woman decided to become the new grandpa of the room and go to nap early. At least that is one less crappy spice lover on this room, her eyes darting over to Ari once he asked outloud about their nightly activities.

"Sure I'm up. Maybe we can play some Uno too. I don't play many card games to be honest." She shrugged it off. "Don't oversleep, grandma!" She shouted out for the idol, just as she finished drying the last of the dishes, rolling down her sleeves after washing her hands.

"Nothing soft tonight, Val. Get us something strong. I sleep better when I'm drunk afterall."

"Don't oversleep, grandma!"

"Yeah, yeah, just a few minutes."

And exactly fifteen minutes were all she needed. The idol promptly got up from her bed and stretched a bit after her alarm rang, before finally unpacking her briefcase after getting some free time. The little time she used for a power nap refreshed back some energy back into her tired body.

Changing into a casual white shirt, the girl went to the bathroom to wash her face and brush her teeth before finally coming back downstairs.

"You guys doing something? I heard something about drinking games." Dayeon then turned to Valeria, informing her about her drinking preference. "I don't drink, but I'll make an exception this time. I'm not going to be a party pooper." She winked, giving a thumbs up before walking near the fridge.

"Alright, so what kind of alcohol beverages do we have?"

"The only thing you can pride yourself for is that you got someone like Val even so much as staring in your direction. Couse you have as much dignity as I have money."
"I think you mean I've got as much dignity as I have money."
"Look, it's not our fault you guys can't handle a bit of spice,"
Val fired at the only two sane people in the room (and even that was being generous). "Hey, I don't have a death wish," Ari countered. "But far be it from me to stop you from making poor life decisions," he added as he walked into the kitchen with a pile of dishes.

The washing was fairly quick and painless at least. The majority of what had been left behind was sauce, so it washed away beneath the stream of hot water fairly quickly, and after a little soap, they were handed to Nico for drying.

"Sure I'm up. Maybe we can play some Uno too. I don't play many card games to be honest."
"Wait really? Do you know blackjack?"
Ari asked in surprise, hoping that the girl at least knew how to play that game. It was just basic addition after all.

"Nothing soft tonight, Val. Get us something strong. I sleep better when I'm drunk after all."
"I'll start slow with a beer, hit the good stuff later,"
Ari said with a chuckle.
"I don't drink, but I'll make an exception this time. I'm not going to be a party pooper," Dayeon's voice announced her reappearance.
"Well that was a short nap," Ari quipped.

A part other was thankful Ari and Nico were over by the sink doing the dishes when the pinkette mentioned her name, sure that the rosy coloration creeping onto her cheeks would’ve only given Nico more ammunition otherwise. Instead she’d opted to browse her phone for a little bit, though the screen was soon locked once more when the conversation shifted to the idea of card games and booze as a way to burn part of the night away.

She’d headed for the fridge to get their first round as Ari and Nico figured out what game they’d play first, a nod quietly escaping her in silent agreement when the other gremlin in the room mentioned she didn’t play too many card games. "Gosh, I haven’t player UNO in aaageees..." The sound of steps coming from the stairs caused her to glance back in time to spot Dayeon returning to join them, amazed at the rather short amount of time the idol had needed for a nap… or maybe she’d just ended up browsing on her phone before giving up on the idea?

"Alright, so what kind of alcohol beverages do we have?"
"Let’s see, we got a blonde lager, a tropical pineapple brew, and a golden ale from Maui Brewing..."

Her hand reached for a can of the last one, placing it on the counter to her side, before she continued to list the available options. "There’s also the honey porter and the hibitchcus ale from Aloha Beer," The later one she had thoroughly enjoyed while having dinner, but when Ari asked for a beer without any further specification her hand reached for the porter instead.

"Nothing soft tonight, Val. Get us something strong.”
"Mmm, don’t think we got anything that qualifies as strong at the market… unless that Oko-le-hao you got counts?"

The word was pronounced slowly and with pause as she read it from the label, though with each uttered syllable Valeria was pretty sure she was butchering the poor thing, before she turned to look at Dayeon and Nico with a raised eyebrow.

With grandma gone, Nico was left to deal with Mr.ZeroDignity talking about having some measure of it in the first place. She exhaled a chuckle at that pitiful self-defense attempt of his. "I can steal that like I take from your wallet real quick though. So I'll just say that I dunno about that one chief." Her eyes went back to Val, thoughtful for a second before doing a so-so gesture with her right hand. "Okay maybe you got some compared to these two. I seriously don't know how they do it, it's like they enjoy having a volcano take a shit on their food." That much spice could only be comparable to lava at this point.

With their dishes done, Ari went ahead to interrogate her about her card game knowledge, only to drop the most basic ass game from all of them as an example, getting Nico to look at him funny (ergo: confused). "Okay I know Blackjack, but that shit's boring. Let's play Uno."
"Gosh, I haven't player UNO in aaageees..."
The psycho rican added, earning a finger in her direction coming straight from the pinkette.
"See. Two votes for Uno-" And just in time came the idol after ultra power napping her way through life. Nico blinked twice to check it was, indeed, Dayeon the one coming down, and it wasn't her the only one who eyed her up for a lack of better term. Did she really just go to sleep?

"Hey Dayeon, say you wanna play UNO." She headed over towards the suspicious korean, wrapping an arma round her shoulder like a con-artist would with it's victim and dragging her over in direction to the table. "We'll team up and fuck these two." Nico smirked. Of course, that meant whooping her ass later when it was time to take the victory. Shit's called UNO not TWO, afterall.

When Val begun to poke out bottles and drop names, none clicked in her head, despite having chosen at least two of these herself.
"Let's see, we got a blonde lager, a tropical pineapple brew, and a golden ale from Maui Brewing..."
"Lameeee."
They all sounded like baby drinks to her.
"-There's also the honey porter and the hibitchcus ale from Aloha Beer,"
"I'll take the hi-bitch. One for me, one for Ari."
Couse obviously he was a bitch, too. "And one for Dayeon I guess, maybe then she can nap for less than two minutes."

"Well that was a short nap,"

It's not that she could get any more sleep with all of them bantering that loud downstairs about spiciness, dignity, and money. Compared to this place, even Slime Girls' dorm seemed like a shaolin temple.

"Fifteen minutes work wonders, all idols learned how to do it." She flashbacked to years ago when that one camera almost caught her going on a power nap in her seat during an awards show. Emphasis on the word almost, because she got away with it.

Dayeon did miss the days she could sleep without the help of sleeping pills. "Nothing can beat full eight hours of sleep, though."

"Hey Dayeon, say you wanna play UNO."

"Sure Nico, why not. It's basic, classic,"
She shrugged at the sticky pinkette without any hint of interest on her face, "Tried and true, et cetera."

"Honey porter seems light enough. I don't want to get too wasted, thank you."
Dayeon walked towards Valieria, before grabbing the aforementioned drink. The idol then circled back and made herself comfortable, seated at the dining table. "Ok, so who's got the deck?"

"Okay I know Blackjack, but that shit's boring. Let's play Uno," Nico said after giving the darkhaired man a strange look. "Its only boring cause you're playing half the game," Ari said, shaking his head. It didn't surprise him that Nico would glaze over the whole social engineering aspect of the game.

"Hey Dayeon, say you wanna play UNO. We'll team up and fuck these two."
"Sure Nico, why not."

Ari turned towards Val with amused look on his face. "They know it's not a team game, right?" the man said with a chuckle.

"Oh, I'll take a-"
"I'll take the hi-bitch. One for me, one for Ari."
"...That, I guess."
He wanted to try it anyways, he supposed.

With the drinks distributed, Ari started to move towards the living room. "Ok, so who's got the deck?" Settling himself, the man cracked open the can of beer, his eyes drifting before the three women in the room. No one seemed to speak up at first. "Please tell me we're not driving back to the other side of the island..."

"They know it's not a team game, right?"
"Actually… I think it can be played as two versus two?"

An apologetic smile was given to Ari as the blonde headed for the fridge, elaborating more on her answer as she went. "Never tried it, but I read their mobile app has that option."

"I'll take the hi-bitch. One for me, one for Ari." Nico was the first to pick a drink as she chose the hibiscus beer for Ari and herself, causing Val’s gaze to shift over towards the man to confirm he was alright with the choice. "...That, I guess."

The porter she’d originally picked for him was placed back into the fridge, before two Hi-bitch-cus joined the golden ale that Valeria had picked for herself. An attempt was made by Nico to try and pick one of the bitch beers for Dayeon too, but the idol managed to beat the pink gremlin as she headed for the fridge and took an option of her own instead.

"Honey porter seems light enough. I don't want to get too wasted, thank you." She couldn’t help the way one eyebrow rose high as the idol reached for the dark beer, wondering if the woman was aware she’d picked the highest ABV option out of all the drinks available tonight. "... Sure."

She wasn’t about to rain on someone else’s good time, and she could always guide Dayeon to the blonde lager or golden ale—or water—if it seemed like the idol was getting a bit too tipsy later. A cold can of beer was pressed to Nico’s cheek when Valeria rejoined the others, a cheeky grin on her lips before she sat down. Once Nico had taken her drink she’d turned towards Ari, handing him an identical choice.

"Ok, so who's got the deck?"
"Not me, thought Nico had one since she suggested it."

A hissing sound echoed as Valeria pulled the tab on her can, her gaze shifting from Dayeon to Nico and finally Ari before she silently took a sip of her beer.

"Its only boring cause you're playing half the game,"
The pinkette nodded, pursing her lips like she wasn't even paying attention at Ari in the first place, then pulled her most accurate imitation of Ari's voice "iTs OnLy BorInG cAusE yOu'Re PlaYIng haLf The GAMe. Shut up and accept UNO is better, high dif." She paused, only to let it slide for now that he was this ignorant about the sacred Uno, but not when he had the audacity to NOT know all about it. This was like that time she told him about the Cars movie!

She blinked, absolutely disturbed about how these two were discussing if Uno actually had other gamemodes beyond free-for-all. For a reason she felt compelled to mentally apologize to Dayeon for trashtalking her so much, when these two proved to be beneath her on the intellect pyramid, with Ari at the bottom of it.

"I can't stand you hoes..." Disappointed, but nothing could be done about it, just like with Dayeon's weak taste for alcohol, but her critiques were cut short as the arctic kissed her cheek, making a low-pitched scream escape from her lips as she leaned in the opposite direction.

"FU- ARI!" She shouted furiously, only to realize the culprit wasn't the dark-haired barista, but the suspicious puerto rican herself. "Val you bitch, I'm gonna make you eat three fours." She corrected herself, snatching the drink out of her friend to give it a trying taste. "Pretty good." She muttered after a few seconds to truly savour the flavor. It sure was heavy, though.

And then came the question: Who had a deck? Suspense, as no one said a word, just like she wanted it, and then Nico's grin matched that of a super villain as her hand went straight into her pocket, only to slam down the cards on the center of the table, and sending a few of them spread all over it by accident.

"As much as I would like to send Ari to buy some UNO, I want to give him an ass-kickin' right now, and not in three hours while he tries to figure out what UNO is."

She just shook her head multiple times as they kept trash-talking about a game they haven't started yet. It felt like her energy was drained empty already.

As Nico slammed the deck that proceeded to scramble itself on the table, Dayeon quickly grabbed the deck and the scrambled cards before any of them make a mess of it again. "I'll shuffle it."

She began to demonstrate riffle and overhand shuffling quickly a few times, before taking some cards to make up the starting hands.

"Seven, seven, seven, and seven." She distributed the starting hand to Ari to her left, Nico to her right, and Valeria across her.

"Alright, first card." Dayeon took the card on the top of the deck, revealing it as she put it in the discard pile. "Six of red," As always, they go clockwise and the person to the left to the dealer goes first. "Your turn, Ari." She motioned for the man to take the first turn.

"Never tried it, but I read their mobile app has that option." Ari wore a surprised frown, as if he were appraising this new information. "Welp, guess we better learn fast," Ari joked after a moment, nudging Val with his elbow before Nico slammed a deck of cards on the table.

After the initial surprise passed, Ari let out a quiet exhale of relief, glad to not have to drive across the entire island again just for one pack of stupid Uno cards. At that point he was just gonna break out a standard deck and force Nico to play blackjack, whether she liked it or not.

Sitting down to play, the man waited for the cards to get passed around, and then looked at his hand. Okay, not too bad. "Red three," the man said as he placed the card down. "Val."

She barely held back a chuckle while listening to Nico’s latest childish comeback, though she was smart enough to not step in the middle of the two pseudo-siblings and their argument… at least until she’d pressed the cold can to the pinkett's cheek.

"FU- ARI!"
"Wrong guess, you’re getting the next round of drinks~"

A chuckle escaped her lips as the blonde made herself comfortable between the barista and the pinkorilla, seemingly unphased by the empty threat of the pasta cutting Italian whose attention had soon shifted to the beer as Nico sampled it. "Welp, guess we better learn fast." The light nudge from Ari’s shoulder captured her attention, and his words earned a smile from the girl as she nodded, before a pack of UNO cards slamming onto the table caused Valeria to jump slightly in response.

"I'll shuffle it."

Dayeon was the first to reach for the now splayed cards, taking a moment to properly gather them up before shuffling them a few times. The riffle shuffling caught Valeria’s attention the most, reminded of the countless times she’d practice the movement during recess in middle school, before the blonde took a sip of her beer as the idol distributed seven cards to each player.

The first card was flipped to reveal a six of red, and as her gaze shifted over to the cards on her hands to look them over she quickly noticed the lack of red among them. It's probably fiiine—

”Red three.”

She couldn’t help the light frown that crossed her face as Ari placed his card down, continuing the color trend that Valeria already knew she lacked… but also picking one of the few numbers that she didn’t have on hand too. "Before we get too deep into this match, are we playing the standard UNO rules or…?" A pointed look was given to the pinkorilla sitting to her left even as her hand reached for the pile of cards in the middle of the table.

"Yellow three," a relieved sigh escaped her upon seeing the card before playing it. "Your turn, Nico."

"Wrong guess, you're getting the next round of drinks~"
"Never. Beat me in UNO first and I'll go get the drinks for the rest of the night."
She so bluntly challenged the blonde, who had to put actions where her mouth was rather than just words, and in this case, that meant CARDS.

Nico watched the epic shuffle Dayeon started to do with an anxious tap of her fingers over the table as she awaited for her to deliver, like a gambler pro waiting to get her cards and knowing they would be good at it, and as soon as the seven were given to her, the pinkette lifted them all up like a fan, keeping them close enough to avoid the grandma or the gremlin to get a peek on them.

"Red three huh." The next in turn was Val, and she watched patiently to see what she got in store, getting a sudden grin all over her face once the blonde didn't looked confident in her cards and already asked for the ruleset. "Standard UNO rules, but we can always do something for the baby of the group." She winked back at her, cheshire smile showed off her pearly teeth to add salt to the insult with the most cocky look she could give.

"Yellow three? Ugh." She groaned, shuffling her cards a bit before picking one in the center and slamming it over the yellow three. "Blue three." Not the colour she wanted to switch to, but better that than picking up a card. If luck's in her side, Dayeon finally stops this three rodeo they all been so happily playing.

"Tell me you got a plus two." Nico's eyes focused intently on the idol just then, confident that Ari would eat shit, or Val, but not herself- She has a plus two too afterall to backstab Dayeon with.

Uno.

She looks down at her hand of cards, or rather, her pile, since she might as well currently hold the whole deck. Can't believe all the plus twos and plus fours landed specifically on her as if this game was choreographed.

"I think the un-universe jusssst hates me."

Sighing, Dayeon extended her hand to collect the scattered cards all around the table, for the game was so insane. She missed some cards a few times, her eyes were already unfocused and the idol's face burning bright red despite the honey porter she got apparently only having ~5% ABV or so.

And it's not even an hour into the game yet. Looks like she really couldn't handle alcohol, after all.

"So we playyy-aannother roundd, or whaaat?" Dayeon looked at the other three while haphazardly shuffling the deck, with her shaky voice beginning to trail off somewhere else, her eyelids struggling to keep themselves open.

"I think the un-universe jusssst hates me."
"Dayeon, have you even finished that can?"

Unlike Dayeon, Ari was very much sober. Whereas she had a strong case of the Asian flush, Ari looked no different than he had when he stepped off the plane today. That and he could still drive if they needed it. The idol on the other hand? Hopefully she never drank before an interview.

"So we playyy-aannother roundd, or whaaat?"
"I think we should move on before you pass out on us, hun,"
Ari said with a laugh before glancing over at the other two present. "What say we take advantage of her inebriated state and ask all those embarrassing questions she'd never answer if she were sober?" Well, that or break out some other drinking game, but Ari was not ready to be responsible for Dayeon drinking herself to death. That seemed like a generally bad outcome for tonight.
