"Didn't take you for a cook. Thought you had someone do that for ya'" Nico admitted, half-impressed half amused at. "Light batter then. Where did you learn to cook by the way?" Which worked more as a filler topic for conversation really, given how monotone the task proved to be, and- what the hell is msg even?

Nevermind, off to the mix it goes!

'once it tastes nice, how am I supposed to know that' She frowned, no sooner than later hearing a voice chirp behind them as their resident blonde came back down. Something told her Val's eyes were on her, just like it wouldn't be hard to guess her ears were on-to that offer for assistance around the kitchen. Regardless, it would get to nowhere, not now...

"Yo,"

Less so with Ari around.

"The heat's disgusting, but good news for ya' I bought some hawaiian bottle from a hawaiian grocery store." She replied, her hands busying themselves with the batter, one finger proding into the mix to get a good lick at it. Tasted passable? She couldn't tell really, she's no cook, but it was fairly good despite not being her thing. Following up went all that BONELESS chicken, dropped onto the mix and sent right into the fridge, clapping her hands together as if dusting them off. "We got some chicken, pasta, aaand some drinks Val paid for." Heading past Ari, the pinkette slapped him right on the back as hard as usual. "Tag, your turn to help." The second she headed back to the living room, she headed over to the couch.

"Didn't take you for a cook. Thought you had someone do that for ya'"

"Didn't we already establish that I'm not rich in the slightest bit?"
She laughed at the pink gremlin's assumption that idols have people to cook for them. Well, she's not wrong, back in the day they ate in the cafeteria often.

"Where did you learn to cook by the way?"

"Used to work in restaurants when I was around fifteen. Server, waitress, line cook, all that. But it was more because I cook for myself for over ten years now."
Dayeon explained, which brought back memories of living on her own without money and having to drop out of school early just to fend for herself. Suddenly, a voice came from their behind. "Anything I can help with?"

"Ah, we've just finished prepping, Val. The real cooking starts later so let's rest and chill for now."
Storing all the chopped ingredients in a small container, the idol washed her hands before turning around to find the yawning man. "How'd the shopping go?"

"Ah, did we wake you up? Sorry."
She walked towards the living room to grab the guitar near the TV. "We got all the things we want, now we'll just wait until dinnertime. Unless you're already hungry."

"Ah, we've just finished prepping, Val. The real cooking starts later so let's rest and chill for now."
"O-Oh, I see…"

A sheepish smile was given to Dayeon, the blonde wondering if she’d perhaps taken a bit too long changing clothes upstairs, before her gaze drifted towards Nico once more as the pinkett set the bowl with the batter-covered chicken inside the fridge. She’d rounded the island then, trying to get a bit closer, but before any words could be uttered a new one joined them from the direction of the stairs.

"Yo."
"Aww, you’re awake already?"
"How'd the shopping go?"

The familiar voice caused her to look back, catching the tail end of the man’s yawn as he came towards the kitchen. An apologetic smile pulled at her lips just as the idol voiced the question that had passed through Val’s mind, before Nico walked in the direction of Ari and clapped him on the back. "Tag, your turn to help." With that the pink-haired gremlin moved towards the living room, a glance barely given in Val’s direction, and the blonde furrowed her brows in light concern as her hand reached for her phone.

"I got some chips for snacking if you’re not too hungry," A finger pointed to a pair of bags in the corner of the counter, just as Dayeon began walking towards the living room and grabbed the guitar. "There’s also juice and soda in the fridge… and beers, too."

Seeing the guitar caused Valeria to miss her violin, a faint sigh leaving the girl’s lips as she pocketed her phone.

"Ah, did we wake you up? Sorry."
"Meh, don't worry about it,"
Ari replied, leaning against the counter as he looked at what was being prepped. "I got some chips for snacking if you're not too hungry, there's also juice and soda in the fridge… and beers, too."
"Thanks, I'm good for now."
"...good news for ya' I bought some hawaiian bottle from a hawaiian grocery store."
Cue the twitching eye.
"The fuck you mean 'I bought some Hawaiian bottles from a Hawaiian store'?" the man grumbled as he took a seat at the counter, looking at Nico in both confusion and annoyance. "They're bottles. Just bottles. And you still haven't mentioned bottles of what." Seriously, was the girl always that cryptic and unhelpful specifically because she knew it made Ari's last remaining braincells start to smoke?

At least the rest of what she said was helpful...sort of...right up until the girl tried to escape her cooking duties. "Ep-ep-ep-ep!" The man grabbed the girl by the wrist as she tried to escape to the living room, pulling her back to the kitchen. "Nuh-uh, time you start learning how to cook so I'm not always the one doin' it. C'mon, Dayeon's done half the work for ya anyways." Seriously, the chicken was already breaded and everything. All that was left was making the pasta and throwing the chicken in the oven.

While it didn't surprise her that Dayeon wasn't rich (well, second time's the charm for her brain), it was the fact she worked on something else other than being an idol. Whenever she imagines the life of a singer of her caliber, it's always on the pompous side, fulfilling to the letter and without a need or want they couldn't fulfill, yet today it's been some sort of wake up call.

This bitch worked at a restaurant, knows how to cook better than she does, and even dances, sings and looks smokin' hot. How in the hell is she not a winner in her own monopoly game with how big the Spice Slime Girls are on their own accord?

All these thoughts came to a stop, just like her way to the living room did once something snapped, and it wasn't a cracker this time around, but her veins, which were about to pop.
"The fuck you mean 'I bought some Hawaiian bottles from a Hawaiian store'?"
"You sack of shit do I need to spell it out for you? H-a-w- you know what, fuck you."
Index finger thrusted on his direction, specifically towards his face as her bitchy face activated itself.
"They're bottles. Just bottles. And you still haven't mentioned bottles of what."
"Bottling deez NUTS in your mouth."
Cue the rude crotch grab to emphasize what sort of nuts did she refer to, and without further elaboration she just turned tail and left.

Yes, this did make her feel better, but no, not for long, because this motherfucker halted her escape route once she felt the weight of her own body retract back to where her arm is supposed to be at. If the stove was meant to be hot, then her glare was a fucking volcanic eruption right now...
"C'mon, Dayeon's done half the work for ya anyways."
"What, did you listen to her? She said we gotta wait, If you wanna stay here and melt your face off, props to you, I ain't doin' that."
She knew that in a contest of strength, she wouldn't quite win it, so instead she opted for the best second strategy.

Rise her wrist up to her mouth, and bite this fucker's hand.

Strumming the guitar a bit, Dayeon instantly noticed that the strings are still good, but out of tune. She quickly brought out the guitar tuning app on her phone, before playing the strings one by one according to the guide. That bickering in the kitchen didn't stop though, prompting her to sigh and set the guitar aside.

"They're bottles. Just bottles. And you still haven't mentioned bottles of what."
"Bottling deez NUTS in your mouth."

The idol almost laughed at the immature joke Nico threw at the male, before noticing that the pinkette's probably angrier than she thought. Before the Italian girl could do the thing she planned to do, Dayeon quickly intervened by grabbing both of their arms.

"Hey, now. Nico hasn't rested or even changed yet. And we do need to let the chicken marinate in the fridge for half an hour."
She looked back and forth at the two while sporting her cutest kitten smile, "Why not chill in the living room for now, hmm? Food'll be ready when it's ready."

Hoping that it would be enough, she slowly separated both of their hands before going back to the living room, giving a very concerned 'crisis averted' look to Valeria. The idol then finished tuning the guitar, before testing it by playing the guitar intro to Despacito, to which she laughed at herself.

She could see the tenseness in the pinkett’s shoulders, clear as daylight to the blonde out of experience—not only did she know the feeling intimately, but Val had also become an expert on recognizing it while growing up. That alone deterred any thoughts of perhaps joining Nico in the living room, a hand going back to her pocket to fish out the phone she’d stored only moments before instead. Perhaps she could text her? She did had a few pictures to share with Nico anyways—

"C'mon, Dayeon's done half the work for ya anyways."
” She said we gotta wait, If you wanna stay here and melt your face off, props to you, I ain't doin' that.”

The banter between the not!siblings had continued, mostly becoming background noise as Val was submerged in her own thoughts, but it was the rising anger in Nico’s voice that finally caused the blonde to look in their direction. "W-Wait, Nico don’t—" She was on the other side of the rather spacious island, too far away to try and stop the motions of the girl as Nico brought Ari’s hand closer to her mouth.

A relieved sigh escaped her when Dayeon appeared, the older woman grabbing both their arms and holding them before she tried to diffuse the situation. "Yeah, Dee’s right. Let’s just chill for a little while… Nico wanted to try the big couch, and we could watch a show or something while waiting." Her eyes met those of the idol for a split second, the concern in the woman’s face mirrored in Val’s own, before her attention turned back to the duo—a silent pleading look shot in the direction of the man.

Then the familiar chords of Despacito began to drift through the air, the melody cutting through the building tension, before Valeria failed to stifle a chuckle as Dayeon’s own laughter rung through the air.

Ah, Nico's growing annoyance. Normally it would've brought Ari a great deal of amusement as the girl clearly got more and more frustrated with the man. Today, however, Yu had been on an airplane. And planes made the man grouchy, regardless of whether or not he got any rest. Now, as she opened her mouth to bite the man's hand, he was about half a second from decking the pinkorilla before Dayeon stepped in and diffused the situation.
"Mff," the man grunted in assent, letting go of Nico's hand and letting his forehead hit the counter with a light thud. God he was tired still. And now he felt gross too, after the short nap.

"...we could watch a show or something while waiting," Ari heared Val suggest from behindthe darkness of his closed eyelids. "Sure," the man muttered, not bothering to lift his head from the cool countertop. "We could find a moving or something too. Whatcha guys into?"

They were all mere seconds from a catastrophe, one that Dayeon stopped with her future-seeing powers, or merely pieced together that neither her nor Ari were in the mood to fuck around, two fuses about to explode with their respective gunpowder.
"Why not chill in the living room for now, hmm? Food'll be ready when it's ready."
"Yeah, Dee's right. Let's just chill for a little while… Nico wanted to try the big couch, and we could watch a show or something while waiting."

Her eyes darted from the idol to her bestie, not skipping the opportunity to glare at both, and just then to notice how Val has been looking at her. Perhaps for longer than usual, and with good enough reason- Fortunately, Dayeon was there to de-scalate them further, and Ari hadn't noticed at all what happened, thanks to his sluggish state where he couldn't even word out what he wanted right now.

"Yeah... Yeah I'll take a show. Hey Val, I left some snacks on the kitchen, mind grabbin' em?" Returning from her journey to the lake of thoughts, only to be blasted by some confucius kind of bullshit when Ari literally mentioned about finding a moving, sharing a glance back with the girls as if that's all it took for her to cast her anger aside for a minimum of five minutes.

"We could find a moving, yes Ari we are finding movings now." The pinkette smiled, folding her arms under her bust. "Dayeon's Despacito is melting your brain."

"We could find a moving, yes Ari we are finding movings now. Dayeon's Despacito is melting your brain"

She chuckled at Nico's mockery of Ari's brain fart moment. Sure, the man was barely awake and he hadn't had a good sleep since God knows when. "Can't blame him. I know my guitar play was that enchanting." Turning towards the man who still looked very tired, she offered, "Ari, you good? I can give you my sleeping pills if you want to rest again."

The idol put the guitar away beside the TV, grabbing the remote before turning it on. There was something currently playing on it... RuPaul's Drag Race?

"Huh," she pondered, before asking the rest if they want to watch anything else. "This? Or movie? I'm good with any kind of movie. How about some comedy?" Dayeon suggested, feeling that the genre might help with the suddenly tense atmosphere of this house. She can't pinpoint what and when, but things were suddenly different. It's not because of her again, was it?

"Sure." It seemed that, at least for the time being, a disaster had been avoided when Ari finally released teh pinkett. The grouchiness of the man wasn’t lost on Valeria, though the blonde couldn’t exactly blame him for it—between not sleeping through a long plane flight, and now waking up after maybe an hour long nap, she was sure her own mood would’ve fared no better if she’d been in his shoes.

”Hey Val, I left some snacks on the kitchen, mind grabbin' em?”
"Sure, I got them."

The earlier glare by the resident known gremlin wasn’t lost on the blonde, but she was quick to perk up when Nico finally addressed her after feeling like the pinkett had been ignoring her ever since the car ride back to their temporary home. A soft chuckle escaped the girl when Nico mocked the man’s slip of the tongue, moving to the counter behind her and grabbing a large bowl to empty half a bag of chips into it—one for the

"Ari, you good? I can give you my sleeping pills if you want to rest again."

She grabbed both the bowl and the remaining half filled bag before moving back to the island, resting them on the surface for a moment as the blonde checked in with Ari. From the living room she could already hear a show playing on the tv, a hand reaching over to brush a few strands atop the man’s head. "No need to force stuff if you’re still tired, okay?" After all, the whole point of this trip was for everyone to unwind and relax, have a good time as they slowly mended the few rifts caused by a particular everwhite in TerraSphere. That would be hard to do if they were all stepping on each other’s toes just because they were a bit jet lagged and cranky from half a day’s worth of plane rides.

"How about some comedy?"
"No preference on show or movie, but comedy sounds good."

Nico's comments about his being unable to speak had Ari flipping her off, with an unamused look on his face as he turned to look at the three girls. God, it was a wonder how these two didn't tear each other's heads off every morning.

"Ari, you good? I can give you my sleeping pills if you want to rest again," Moonsong said, to which Ari shook his head, declining her offer. "Nah, thanks though," the man said as he turned in his seat to lean his back against the counter and look over at the TV screen.

Soon enough, Valeria came around to the man as well, her hand moving through his hair as she told him it was okay for him to go back up and sleep. The man shook his head, fingers finding the hem of her shirt and playing with the end. "No, I just always feel shitty after naps," he explained before stifling another small yawn.

"This?" the pair heard Dayeon say from the living room. "Or movie? I'm good with any kind of movie. How about some comedy?"
"No preference on show or movie, but comedy sounds good."
"Same, I'm good with whatever,"
the man agreed, knowing he probably wouldn't pay much attention either way. Ari stood and grabbed the stool he was sitting on to move over to the living room. Not enough room for all four between the couch and chair.

Nico shook off her head with amusement at that little quip from Dayeon "Try to enchant some sense into him next time please." She followed with a glance back to Ari, mouthing out a silent yet clear 'Fuck you' back at him once he flipped her off like the petty bastard he is.

Noticing Val finally bring over the chips had her laser target the blonde with a grabby gesture out of her hands. Because clearly the bowl is magnetized and she has power over it, yet their eyes wouldn't meet. Akin to a thousand yard stare itself, looking at all but her features, with preference on the bowl of goodies.

Nico listened to each of their opinions about their soon to be T.V antics, pursing her lips in the process of formulating her own opinion.
I'm good with any kind of movie. How about some comedy?"
"No preference on show or movie, but comedy sounds good."
"Same, I'm good with whatever,"

If she said no, she would sound like a jackass given what they all agreed upon seemed to be 'whatever' and 'Comedy', so she just sighed off, sending a hand after a few chips to stuff her mouth with first before talking with a full mouth that made half of what she said borderline incomprehensible.
"Shuuh wha not." Swallowing down, hands on her skirt to get the grease off from her fingers in the most gamer way possible. "I'm a bit tired of comedies though, living with a clown means I get a free, liveshow everyday." Never a bad moment to thrust a shiv on Ari's back. Metaphorically, at least.

"I'm a bit tired of comedies though, living with a clown means I get a free, live show everyday."

"Nico, that's gross." Dayeon protested at the pinkette wiping her hands on her own skirt, before looking away to find a comedy movie through the streaming service. "Let's go with the good ol' Adam Sandler movies, can't be that bad."

The watch party was pretty quiet, with only laughs, chuckles, and giggles occasionally. Maybe because some of them were tired from the flight, the drive, or the shopping. In the middle of the movie, Dayeon's phone alarm rang, indicating that thirty minutes had passed. "Ah, the chicken should be ready. I'm gonna make the sauce." She got up and walked towards the kitchen. "You guys continue without me."

Sauteeing the chopped garlic and chili pepper for a while until fragrant, she put gochujang, soy sauce, and mirin into a heated saucepan to create the sweet and spicy, red-colored sauce. The scent could even be smelled from the living room.

Valeria followed the man towards the living room, two snack bowls held in her hands while Ari had grabbed the stool he’d been sitting on and brought it over. A pair of hands made grabbing motions in her direction, the pinkett requesting food and receiving it as the larger bowl was passed over to her greedy hands—though the fact that Nico was actively avoiding her gaze left a bitter taste in the blonde’s mouth. The smaller snack bowl was passed over to Dayeon as the woman claimed the chair in the living room, surfing through the available options to try and find something that would please everyone present.

"Scooch over," She tapped Nico’s legs as she spoke, the remaining seat left being on the couch besides the pink gremlin, before the blonde grabbed one of the cushions and pulled it close to her chest as she sat down. "And don’t forget to pass the snacks around."

In the end Dayeon had opted for a movie from Adam Sandler, the small group settling into a mostly quiet watch party—except for the occasional laughter, chuckles or giggles that rang out now and again. She found it hard to remain focused on the movie though, her eyes trailing away from the drama on-screen to side glance the pinkett at her side more than once—before the unexpected sound of Dayeon’s alarm caused Val to visibly startle in response.

"You guys continue without me."
"R-Right…"

She’d been in the process of standing up when the idol instructed them all to stay, instead picking up the phone that had slipped out of her pocket and stumbled onto the floor before Val sunk back into her seat. She toyed with the device for a few moments, quietly chewing on the inside of her cheek, before finally pocketing it once more just as the scents of the kitchen began to reach the living room.

"Oh, that smells pretty good Dee~"

With everyone settling into their seats (or stool, as was Ari's case), and snacks distributed, it came down to movie selection. Nico's not too well hidden sigh had Ari raise an eyebrow at her, figuring she wasn't actually all that pleased with the movie options either. For Ari's part, the man knew he'd likely lose interest a half hour in, regardless of what movie was chosen, so he wasn't about to complain, but he wasn't sure if Nico would do the same.

Whatever the case, a movie had been picked. An older Adam Sandler film that Ari had seen before. It didn't take more than twenty minutes before the man's phone came out and he started playing a gacha game, idly glancing up at the screen as his units went on auto-deploy. With Valeria being the closest snack-holder, the man leaned over whenever the bowl was in her hands to snatch some snacks up and pop them into his mouth.

The sound of Dayeon's alarm going off gave the man a start though, and he looked over in the woman's direction as she stood. "You guys continue without me."
"Need any help?"
Ari offered.

"Nico, that's gross."
"Bruh..." She waved it off instead and kept her thoughts for herself.
'Says the one who fucked in a shitty tavern room in a videogame and didn't even clean after that...' She so wanted to project that out for Dayeon alone to hear.

But even that would cause bad blood, unecessary one, she had enough with Val, who already decided to take a seat over with her, doing just as she said to give the blonde some space, with her hand going over to the bowl.
"And don't forget to pass the snacks around."
"If there are any left for that."
She added, dropping a bunch right inside her mouth, covering it with the palm of her hand just to keep them in as she chomped away.

An adam sandlers movie was the one they chose, and while she really didn't have a problem with it, the 'pervy nerd guy' act that always seems to be adam sandlers's role had grown kinda old on her by now. Yet it's still better than to swim across her phone like Ari is doing right now, but she couldn't blame him for it.

No, instead her gaze tracked the man and Dayeon just as they left over to the kitchen, the smell alone was enticing just as Val made mention of it, blue eyes falling upon her instead, snapping her fingers to try and catch her attention.

Pointing a finger straight at the blonde, then her thumb to herself, and finally at the sky. Or in other words: upstairs.

"Hey Val, care to help me with my lugagge while we wait?" Her voice loud enough for the pair to hear on the kitchen, and to let them know their whereabouts. The pinkette stood back up, not once breaking eyecontact if only to make sure Valeria would figure it out on her own what she wanted.

"Bruh..." It sounded like Nico was going to retort at her or whatever, but stopped. "Bruh?" Dayeon confusedly muttered, not paying much attention to it.

"Need any help?"

"I'm gonna wait until the sauce gets reduced. Can you get the oil heated?" The woman pointed at the container of vegetable oil and the frying pot already on the other stovetop. After setting the heat for the sauce to low, she opened the fridge to take out the marinated chicken. She poured another batch of flour into an empty bowl to bread the chicken as the sauce slowly thickens and released more of its spicy aroma.

"Oh, that smells pretty good Dee~"

"Yeah? Pretty good, right?"
She shouted, proud of her cooking. Making sure to coat every piece of boneless chicken with the breading flour, the idol then put the breaded chickens into the pot of hot oil after the temperature was ideal.

"Hey Val, care to help me with my luggage while we wait?" Nico suddenly called out to the girl beside her (a little too loud, weirdly) to help her with the luggage. "Don't be too long, we have pasta to cook!" Dayeon reminded the both before they head upstairs.

"If there are any left for that."

A deadpan stare was given to the pinkett, watching as she stuffed another mouthful of chips right into her gullet—keeping the palm over her mouth to avoid the contents spilling as she munched and chomped. "What a delightful sight you are right now." There was a roll of her eyes, though the smirk that remained on the blonde’s lips showed it was all in good jest, before Valeria reached for the bowl and pulled it to her lap—easy to do considering Nico had one hand busy right now.

When Ari reached over for snacks she made sure the bowl was within reach of the man’s fingers, though his attention had shifted to his phone about twenty or so minutes into the movie. Eventually the bowl of snacks was placed in the middle of the couch, easily accessible for Nico once more, and just in time to avoid ending up on the floor when Val had been startled by Dayeon’s alarm.

"Need any help?"

He’d stood up from his stool and walked over to the kitchen, the voice of Dayeon confirming that Ari had probably been roped into assisting even if Val couldn’t make out what the woman was saying. A part of her wondered if to pause the movie now that two of them were missing, not that anyone had been seemingly invested in it, before Nico’s words caught her attention then.

"Hey Val, care to help me with my luggage while we wait?"
"Uuuh, s-sure!"
"Don't be too long, we have pasta to cook!"

The movie was left playing in the background, entirely forgotten, when Valeria noticed the way the pinkett’s eyes refused to break contact. "Yeah, just text me if we lose track of time!" A sigh escaped her lips before she stood up from the couch, following Nico towards the stairs before calling out to Dayeon. Up the stairs the pair went, and with each step the blonde could feel a pit of anxiety growing in her stomach.

"I'm gonna wait until the sauce gets reduced. Can you get the oil heated?"
"Sure thing,"
Ari had replied, grateful for the excuse to not watch the same movie for the umpteenth time. There was only so much Sandler the man could stand. He stood and followed the idol into the kitchen before doing just as she'd asked. The man picked up the oil and filled it just enough to fry the chicken and turned on the burner to the appropriate heat.

Nico's and Val's voices could be heard, promptly followed by Dayeon's call for them to not take too long. "Yeah, just text me if we lose track of time!"
Ari couldn't help but watch the pair haul their luggage all the way up the stairs before looking over at Dayeon. "How long could leaving their bags in their rooms possibly take them?"
