Rubu nodded when he asked about white whistle, and her chest puffed. "It is the most prestigious rank an explorer can have. It means you mastered your exploring abilities, but it is far from the end, because the world is just so big-"

Her cheeks then grew rosy when he mentioned she was excited, realizing she has been babbling all this time.

"O-Of course I am. It is an exploration, as an explorer, I should be." Ruby said, resting hands on her waist and curling her tail before clearing her throat and looking up at him.

"So, do you still want to come with me? It will be dangerous, so if you already have deaths on your back, it may not be a good idea to risk" She asked, wondering if after listening to most of the deal involved he would want to risk himself that much. Or maybe he didn't know about the UI-Lock, which allowed him to think this was just a game and everything.

It was always good to see someone who invested in something and found actual enjoyment in it. He vaguely remembered that feeling, and how it motivated him to chase after a dream. Even if he hadn't found it and ultimately came short, the journey had felt rewarding in its own way. He had learned things, and in some ways, he had grown.

The process was always painful. He sighed quietly and pulled back just a bit when she blushed and cleared up any misconceptions he may have had. It is an exploration, as an explorer, I should be.

If she was guilty of being too passionate about the conversation, he was equally so. With a smile, he responded: "Good. That makes two of us. I might not be an explorer like you, but I am a Traveler, and I can't just leave you in good faith when an adventure drops itself in my lap."

He knew the risks. When she mentioned death, his eyes flickered for a moment as he pushed the doubt out of his thoughts. "It'd be my pleasure," Erick told her, "think of it as a way to hone my protective magic. And with two of us, the risk of death is at least somewhat reduced. Hopefully."

Ruby swayed her tail, smiling satisfied at the initial answer. They may not be the same, but they had similar tastes for that particular thing and that was enough for her. It seemed like she had found an adventurer partner for this journey, a competent at it too!

"In this case, I think we will be very successful at this journey." Her ears perked up. "The first step to achieve something is wanting it, and honestly the hardest part is to find someone to go with you.

Her lips quirked up, in a warm smile. "But seems like I'm lucky today." She said, offering a hand.

"With your magic and my blade, nothing will stop us." Maybe it was overconfidence, but this small encounter sure uplifted her spirits. Who would guess the day she is nearly killed would be a lucky day? Sometimes life was just funny like that. Or in this case, virtual life.

"Yeah!" he declared triumphantly in agreement with her words. Honestly, the idea of an adventure had him riding a high that would leave him with many other questions to ask once he came down from it; but for the moment, he was more than happy to just stew in the endorphins. "Alright, now," he said as he clapped his hands once, then crossed his arms. "Which way are we headed? I was bound for Finweald, but I can make my way there later."

Getting sidetracked at this point didn't really bother him. While he had a general idea of what waited in the Astorean capital, he still wasn't aware of many aspects of this new world, and he wanted to get a taste of what one of the major groups had to offer. This girl was an Explorer, and he wanted to see exactly what that meant.

It would help him get some insight into where he might settle into things.
