lion's pride...

Golden threads of light shone across the lion's vision, everything filled by the bright light. The sun was shining, the wheat surrounding her was dancing before her eyes. The scent in the air.... Ilya took a deep breath, "Earthy ground and cow shit..." Pormont smelt like Pormont always smelt... Yet it held a special place in her heart, as this was where she had rekindled her friendship with Zelrius...

She had found herself back at the crossroads she had met him at, before meandering towards the village. She had nothing in mind for today, just a simple stroll. It was nice to be alone, but Ilya couldn't help but feel like it would be nicer to have company as she went on her afternoon walk.. Maybe someone to just hold casual conversation as they spent the hour together...

Ilya honestly hadn't ever done that with anyone, whenever she had found herself in the presence of another... They always seemed to end up going on adventures. It was pretty exhausting...

"I see! And you needed help for this? Thankfully, THE GUY is just what you needed for this!" A man in shining dark plate boldly declared to the man on the street who needed help fixing his log cabin in the woods.

"N-No, like I said, I was just complainin'. Seriously, git out of here, would you? My wife's gonna complain about the noise if you keep this up. Go on, git."
A complete rejection of his aid followed suit. Dismayed, THE GUY took step back into the road, his attempt at finding a way to help someone do something menial all but dashed. Seriously, he had no idea how @Brutus Dahlgren managed to do it.

His idle steps took him to a crossroads in the trail, one that happened to place the man on the same road's turn as some girl he had yet to meet before. As they were the only two now walking in the same direction on the same road towards the same village, THE GUY thought he might as well speak up.

"Oh? Didn't expect to find anyone else on this walk. Well, nice meeting you! Lovely weather we're having, chica. Did'ya forget to rent a carriage to travel out to town, or did you just like the Pormont scenery as well as I do?"

lion's pride...

Her ears swiveled towards the direction of the sound. Her tail flicking up as her whole attention focused on the source. This random guy had made his way out of a house while Ilya had been lost in thought. His footsteps had been quick to match hers as he walked besides her.

She nearly jumped out of her skin as she looked at him, he was adorned head to toe in armor, and it was the kind you'd see in fantasy movies and anime shows.

Ilya smiled softly as she eased her heart rate down to a minimal. "I'm just going for an afternoon walk, I dunno.. Pormont has always held a special place in my heart..." Ilya had her memory jog as she remembered soft yelling earlier before the man had walked beside her.

"So uh... What was all the yelling about..?" It would be very embarrassing for her if the yelling had nothing to do with this guy (haha, get it?).

"Oh, that? I was trying to help a man with house repair, you see, and he just didn't want for any. He kicked me right out of the premise!" This ironclad guy laughed boisterously, as if getting booted out of a man's house was a good or funny thing at all. Maybe he was just laughing off some sort of embarrassment, yet none could be found bleeding off into his voice.

"But who could ever be mad about something simple in a place like Pormont, yeah? You've got the smell of manure and the sight of farmlands. It's too peaceful a homeland to find a bad mood inside of. That just isn't happening... Not for THE GUY, at least!"

She heard another round of boisterous laughter be strangled by the bulk of his encompassing faceplate. Hints of gruff hair and a cheerful Spainard's grinning face could barely be seen behind the iron. THE GUY looked out across this very horizon after his own words to reminisce on the beauty of Pormont, his words genuine as could be. It almost reminded him of home...

lion's pride...

It was true that nothing very eventful ever happened here, though there were small tasks here and there. "It's always a hit or miss on if someone needs help, if you *are* looking for work to do... Then Mrs. Kaitlyn usually always has something that needs to be done. She lives a bit more north, a widow."

THE GUY laughed quite a lot, which Ilya had no issue with, at least none of it seemed forced. This guy just seemed overall boisterous and happy. It made Ilya remember the likes of Lucy, and how she used to be back during the first phase of Terrasphere.

Since the four year absence, her character had changed quite a bit.. Most likely due to the heavy amounts of work she constantly piled on herself, she was just overall tired more often than not. However, whether or not she was tired, she was in Terrasphere, which meant she could do whatever she wanted now. "Are you planning on heading to find stuff to do? What's your goal?" Her feet kept moving down the path.

A shake of the head was her first response given. It was unclear why, or to what-perhaps it was to a personal thought of his.
"Ha! Well you see, I'm not going to Mrs. Kaitlyn. She already threw me out of that house! I, THE GUY..." The man speaks in turn of this, stopping his footsteps with a clank of the bootstraps. One finger raised brilliantly to the sky and he leaned his head back and cried, "AM GOING TO DESTROY THE WORLD!"

He couldn't be serious. Not with that clown-ass heroic voice he was putting on. There was no way, and yet he kept laughing about it as if it were prophecy. This continued until the moment in which he stopped to look at Ilya more closely, continuing to speak in a lower tone, "Oh, but don't tell anyone that. It's a secret. ¿Comprende? We can't have the world knowing that I'm out to destroy it just yet. I could set up a good ambush in that time. Best blink twice and play along if you get what I mean."

Hell of a thing to say after he'd already declared it to the entire world to hear. This man was either LARPing or just unwell in the skull.

lion's pride...

This guy was a character, and one in armor such as his.. He might as well be cosplaying a knight at AnimeExpo. "Just who- No what are you...?" She couldn't help the laughter that was combined with her question. This guy had the potential to really knock anyone off their feet. She would have expected someone in armor such as his to have a more serious persona. But one conversation with this guy and she knew exactly how optimistic and funny he was; though she was certain he had his own quiet and sincere side. He just gave off those kinds of vibes.

When he spoke to her softer, she would roll her eyes internally before blinking twice to play along with his joke. Might as well, as she had nothing better to do. Then she turned her attention back to the road. The uneven surface taking some of her focus as to not trip and fall in a random rabbit hole.

"I bet your armor just throws people off, maybe if you didn't wear it... Or as much of it... Then people would be more prone to have you help them. After all, you know what they say. Can't trust a man who doesn't show himself."

A thick, plated hand reaches up to cusp his chin in thought. THE GUY muses aloud, "Do you think so? Yet people in uniform are lauded all the time! It is an identity, of sorts. Hell, this is standard Falderen guard armor, to boot. Hah, now that I think about it, maybe that's why some of those folks didn't like me! I'm pretty sure I saw something illegal in the back of Mrs. Kaitlyn's home!"

Boisterous laughter accompanied his realization. He acknowledged the problem, and yet he loved his armor too much to just let it go off of a suggestion. However, though he rejected her offer, he didn't seem to be entirely unmoved.

"Perhaps a bit later. Not so fast, though--I like how snug this is so far. I'm sure I'll wear it out eventually, though. Maybe after a raid or two grinds the poor suit into dust."

His visor's gaze settled over onto Ilya in turn after his humor had died down. "And what about you? Business casual isn't the look I think of for a hero in shining armor, you know-Sure you shouldn't get at least a chain-vest to stop an arrow or two?"

Shining armor, THE GUY says, as if his suit of pure black didn't toss that notion into a pit.
