"Don't lie to me, I know you ain't," Yu said with a cheeky smile on his face, knowing full well that the lepus felt absolutely no remorse for what she'd done. All the trauma she caused. Yu was also fully aware of the fact that she would probably do it again if given the opportunity.

With Toko's description about her alter mastery however, Yu had an entirely different response. "Wow, okay, that sounds like not a fun time," he said, giving her a concerned look. "But at least you didn't wind up getting too hurt. And-" the man got to his feet and then offered a hand to Toko, "now's a pretty good time to practice with it, right?"

The man walked to the side of the mat again, taking one last drink of water before sealing the canteen and setting it to the side. "I make a pretty good punching bag, after all."

"Don't lie to me, I know you ain't."

The comment caused the Lepus to break into laughter, an impish grin given back at Yugam in response as she was caught in the lie. "Okee okee, how about this... I promise not to tease you too much next time around, mmm?" Alright so maybe some of Brutus' teasing habits were rubbing off on the rabbit, but in the end it's was all just harmless fun—Toko had no intentions of actually traumatizing the human.

"Eeeh? Ah, iie iie!" The offered hand was taken by Toko as she rose back to her feet, the canteen of water placed away where they had first been. "No, I couldn't... not when I have such poor control over it still."

After all the last thing Toko wanted was to accidentally injure Yugam pass what would be normal for a sparring match... or worse still, cause the man another DA affliction due to her poor magical control.

"I appreciate the offer though... and tell you what, once I have good control over it I'll definitely give you a round to test it out, mmm?"

Speaking of... it was probably time for another bout now that they had caught their breathe and hydrated.

"Yeah, you better not," Yu said with a smile. If he was a betting man, he'd wager that Toko would actually crank it up a notch or two next time.

"C'mon, just let loose. What's the worse that happens?" Yu said to Toko, who seemed reluctant to practice her new mastery against him. "You ain't gonna get better if you never break it out," the man said as he tugged on the ends of the hand wraps, ensuring they were still nice and tight, before punching his palm experimentally. The man walked towards Toko and bowed before raising his guard and continuing. "Besides, look at how many adventurers are around," he pointed out, tossing out a lazy jab. "If something goes wrong, they'll step in before anything bad happens."

"I... eeetoh..." The jab was easily parried away, instinct and practiced motions being in control now as the hare's mind seemed to be elsewhere. "I don't know how to trigger it..."

There was a frustrated pout on Toko's face as the words tumbled out of her lips, a slight blush of embarrassment coloring the Lepus' cheeks while she admitted that truth. It was already hard enough that she had a terrible control for magic in general, so much that even Brutus had pointed that out to Toko on more than one occasion. Another few blows from the Hemomancer were blocked, before an open palm managed to sneak through his guard and strike his chest guard.

The two continued to lazily trade jabs, focusing on the conversation more than actually sparring each other. Toko swatted his weak jabs and crosses with minimal before she managed to sneak a palm strike through his guard, forcing him to take a step back.

"C'moooon, Toko. You know you want to," he egged on in a sing-song voice as he wound up for high roundhouse kick.

"I don't know how to trigger it..."

'Nani?'

Yu's kick went way too high, throwing the man completely off balance, the momentum pulling him forward unbidden, his leg slipping out from under him.

Thud!

Yu struck the ground all on his own. And even still he looked up at Toko with a confused look. "What do you mean you don't know how? Doesn't the game teach you?"

She was distracted for a second after admitting a truth the hare was embarrassed to speak out loud about, and would've been the perfect standing target for the human... had he apparently not been as surprised and perplexed by the revelation as Toko was. His kick went wide, too wide, and by the time the Lepus realized it Yugam was already hitting the mat hard as his balance was lost.

"Ah, daijoobu Yu-chan?"

A hand reached out to help the Hemomancer back to his feet, before they both resumed their soft blow trades as Yugam swatted one of her fists away. Clearly their focus was currently on the conversation instead of the actual bout.

"Pffft, I wish... not even a tiny manual, just some flavor text that tells me absolutely nothing."

So far the only thing that had helped Toko was the amethyst earring on her right ear, a find she'd made in her earlier days of playing along with a fellow Lepus player.

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm good," Yu responded as Toko helped the man back to his feet and they went back to their light back and forth sparring. "Really?" the man asked as he tried to think back to when he'd first picked up his masteries. Slashing and ranged weapons had been fairly straight forward, obviously, hemomancy on the other hand..."Huh," the man muttered. "Yeah, I guess they don't really tell you how to use any of the magics in game..."

Honestly, that was a stupid design decision, but so far, Terrasphere was full of those, so the man couldn't exactly say he was surprised. He, at least, had been able to just begin using his magic. There were obvious limitations, or lack thereof, that he hadn't known about at the time (like how the game made no effort to stop you from removing all the blood from your own body if you so chose too), but actually being able to do something had been natural. Evidently, that wasn't the case with everyone.

"Maybe we can find someone to teach you?" Yu suggested. "Like another player, or hell, maybe even an NPC? Someone's gotta have a clue, right?"

"Really." She responded back with a sigh and a shrug, her dissatisfaction about the lack of knowledge of guidance concerning some of her masteries being palpable. "Maybe it's different for other masteries, or maybe casters with grimoires actually get information, but all my magic came with zero instructions."

She had been lucky enough to tap into the powers by instinct for the most part, and even the somewhat elusive astramancy that Toko picked later was still somewhat manageable in this matter... but her Battle Spirits alter? Yeah, she still had no clue how that worked, not even after seeing Alonso, Childress and even the League's fox girl pop their own out during the Kurungaar fight.

"Yeah... I'll probably have to reach out to Alonso." She prepared herself for the next batch of strikes, though with her mind elsewhere a particular jab was missed as it reached its mark. "... but he did told me before it seems to vary from player to player. What worked for him might not necessarily work for me."

The hit did seem to get the Lepus' attention however, the open palm strikes gaining just a bit more weight in them as Toko traded blows with Yugam before one managed to strike the center of his chest again.

"Hmph," Yu frowned, trying think of ways to help Toko. But, it wasn't like Yu had any experience with that particular mastery to being with, and frankly, Toko was the only person in the game aside from Brutus and Jin he actually spoke too. So it wasn't like he knew anyone could help.

Thankfully, Toko didn't need his help for that part, listing some people off the top of her head that she might be able to turn to. Even if those leads might turn out to be dead ends, they were better than nothing,

Yu grunted slightly as Toko struck him in the chest again, his lungs expelling the air they'd stored for a moment before the man recovered and decided to mix things up a little with a wide right hook. "Well, with any luck they'll be able to help you get somewhere on that."

It wouldn't do to delve on things much longer, not today at least, and so the Lepus finally began to shove the concern out of her mind. After all she had a bout to win, it would be quite rude to not dedicate ehr attention to the match she and Yugam were currently sharing.

"Yeah, here's hoping I get lucky... after all, I have two rabbit feet~"

She was thankful for the concern the raven haired boy showed about her predicament, a light chuckle escaping her before she managed to block an incoming right hook. "Oooh, we spicing the routine up now?" There was a glint in her eyes, a competitive smirk tugging at the corner of her lips, before the rabbit unleashed a new series of strikes back at the human.

A kick was the one that got him, again square in the chest like the other hits, which finally signalled an end to their match... and a complete victory for Toko. "Pheeew, that was a fun match... we should definitely do this again, Yu-chan~" A hand was stretched out and offered to Yugam...

Yu chuckled at the joke about Toko's rabbit feet. He did not, however, tell her that she had to die and have her feet cut off for them to be lucky. That didn't seem like entirely pertinent information at the moment.

What was important information was this new combo that Toko had decided to unleash on the poor boy. A flurry of kicks and punches that the man struggled to keep up with until, finally, inevitably, Toko landed a strike right in the center of Yu's chest. Yu's body went horizontal, his feet leaving the ground before he suddenly slammed down to the ground, the air leaving his lungs.

"Ughhhh...."

Yu stared up to the ceiling/sky/whatever the guild hall's top was. "Yeah...good match," he struggled out.

"Ah, gomen Yu-chan, I might've let loose a bit too much on that last kick..."

As Yugam struggled out a few words the Lepus hovered over him, her hands pressing together in a prayer like motion as she gave the boy a soft apology, before her hand reached out to help Yugam back to his feet. However the smile on her face never wavered, the rabbit honestly happy to have found a new sparring partner in the hemomancer.

"This better not be the only time we spar though—I really mean it when I say we should do this again."

Once Yugam had gotten back to his feet the Lepus would clap her hand on his shoulder appreciatively, before walking over to the spot where their water canteens awaited. She'd pick them both up, lightly tossing Yugam's over to him, before taking a few gulps of her water to refresh after the match.

"Don't worry about it," Yu coughed out as the lepus helped him get back on his feet, slapping his back enthusiastically, only causing him to cough more. "Oof! Of course we're gonna fuckin' spar again," the man said with (slightly pained) smile. "I want a goddamn rematch. Besides, I gotta check out these battle spirits of yours sometimes."

The man caught his canteen of water and paused long enough to deeply inhale, hold it, and then exhale again, finally able to breath properly once more before taking a sip of water. "Thanks for the matches today, Toko," the man said with a genuine smile to the woman. "Been a long time since I've had the opportunity to go toe to toe with someone like that. Next time though, let's break out all the tips and tricks. We'll blow the top off the place, yeah?"
