It had been a fun day for Mio, from early on the moment she found out about gambling in game, making money to survive had gotten a bit easier. Though she couldn't play at big expensive places where people would be thorough and check high rollers, she could try in back alley ways and less official settings. While it was more likely for a robbery to take place or some kind of violent attack or outburst from the less than reputable cliental at least then Mio would be able to mitigate her losses completely. Every time another roll of dice was done and a cup was shuffled, Mio would place another bet or make another call indifferent about her odds or luck. Every time she lost money she didn't seem to mind, and every time she gained she would be happy.

The reason was largely because of her technique. Her tail swaying behind her dotted with black ink on the end like a paint brush, her hands and fingers stained black with it giving the impression of fox claws. Every coin she put down would be a reproduction of some kind of currency made 1:1 style and every coin she received she would nibble or pinch to test. Every once in a while she could tell one of the coins given to her weren't real either, but considering the costs and gains she pretended not to notice and kept gambling with a wide bright smile in hopes of earning a touch more.

Even as the cup kept rumbling and turning over dice one after another to take her bets, her mind instead was on forgery and how much gold she would need in order to have a nice dinner off campus. Hoping to be able to pull in enough for a more lavish lifestyle she kept betting modest amounts to trade the coins for ink where ever she could.

Pleasure was something that Ilya still had to grow accustomed to. Up until now, she was only really used to doing things that were good in the people's eye. She always had to be on her best behavior, paparazzi following her every step outside of Terrasphere. Even before, when she had logged in the game before it had been shut down, she had been focused on being a hero. Heroes didn't drink or party. Heroes didn't gamble.

Thankfully time had changed Ilya, whether it was for the better or for the worse, Ilya would have no say. Only time would tell. Thus here she sat, indulging in pleasure and enjoying it. Gambling was fun, but even more fun when there was high risk involved.

Around her, tables were sprawled out as everyone sat, gambling away. There was various kinds of gambling one could do, and Ilya found herself at a game identical to Blackjack. Her bets, staying the same whether she won or lost. Before long, Ilya had bet away too much, the feeling of gambling was causing her to be too greedy. All of her money, gone. Ilya was broke.... It wasn't long before a rather muscular, tall fellow came up to Ilya and pushed her to the ground. "Get the fuck out me shop you broke twat!" Ilya proceeded to then be dragged out of the shop, landing on her bum in the middle of the road. "Curses... that's what I get for getting swept away by my addiction." She scoffed, stood to her feet and dusted herself off. She then pushed her hair behind her shoulders and turned back to the building.

Her middle finger flipping upwards and shooting towards the building, "Fuck you too." She stuck her hands behind her back, and turned to face away. "I need a drink..."

With a playful snicker, Mio enjoyed watching the stranger who seemed to lose everything almost instantly. It was amusing for Mio who worked so hard to maintain an edge, who was very well learned and researched on the subject. Making money was something she was unfortunately hyper educated in from a young age, so seeing someone with a completely different approach was a breath of fresh air. While Mio wasn't going to trade roles by far, it was nice to see and live vicariously through people who had the cash and money to burn on a gamble so flippantly.

Naturally Mio gathered her coins up, her meager winnings didn't at all account for the amount of gold she walked away with. The portion in her pouch was a small amount compared to the rest laced among the soft furs of her hairs and tail, beneath the ink and among her clothing. She would have a nice big meal after selling the money in reality, but seeing the girl outside, she flashed a small smile and stopped next to her. "You want something to drink?" She'd ask, a playful, almost mischief filled grin on her face, using her tail to try and pick the girl up by one of her arms. Thinking this was a fun chance to try and squeeze in a little extra she tried to tempt with a bright smile.

"I know a good place, you can even get back at that guy who threw you out~" She tried to tempt still. She didn't care so much about the drinking or revenge for the poor girl, but the opportunity to win out a bit more, and help at the same time seemed like a win win.

Ilya was scoffing and puffing, the fur lacing her long and thin tail puffed up, a sign to show her annoyance. Her attitude changed almost instantly when some words rang out towards her among the shuffle and bustle of the street, "A drink? I'm always down for a drink. Gotta live a life worth living while we still can." Ilya would then glance at the source of the voice that had called out, It was a girl shorter than she was, and that said something considering Ilya was barely over five feet tall. The girl was covered in ink and had a set of ears that had a matching tail to go along, a beastfolk, much like herself. Her face gave away the fact that she was filled with smirky intentions. Ilya's body was then practically lifted off the ground as if she had agreed with no 'buts'.

"The only problem is, well... i'm broke. I kind of gambled a bit too much.... So if you're paying this time around, I can pay next. I also don't want to drink too much, cause I tend to loose sense of reason when i'm that far gone..." Ilya didn't want to make any mistakes or do anything she might sooner rather than later regret. Ilya was too easily persuaded when she was drunk, and that was something she had to be careful about. Maybe it was due to the fact that she was in a virtual game where no real consequences could follow her into the real world. Perhaps it was due to the fact that she could actually let loose and do whatever she wanted here without getting recognized. Or perhaps it was because this game brought out her true nature.

"What do you mean, by get back at him...?" Ilya's ears twitched as she leaned closer to the girl, she didn't want to do anything that would hurt someone else, but if it was harmless revenge, Ilya would be more than happy to take this strange girl up on her offer. "And why are you covered in ink..?"

Mio didn't care much for height, in her case, it was a strategic choice, small was unsuspecting, small was easy to hide and sneak. It didn't effect her strength or power levels either, and while some might say it effected her reach, with her abilities there was no problem with reaching people or things to take. Hearing the girl complain about being broke though, Mio shrugged, broke didn't mean anything, a lot of people who were broke found ways and means, she was that type of person herself after all. "Eh, Yeah, I saw, I was in there with you by the back corner. You have pretty terrible luck." She offered with a snicker, finding some fun in someone who had a harder time then her. Though if Ilya was bothered by it, Mio would shrug, the girl was just unlucky, it happens.

Lifting the girl to her feet Mio would dust her off with a few shakes before shrugging in answer to her question. "I mean, I can't think of a drank more delicious then one that belonged to someone else. It's a nice kind of revenge to lift a bottle or two... or five from the gambling joint right?" She tempted and whispered playfully, smile full of mischief, tail darting around with impish excitement. She had always had sticky fingers, she was good at this sort of thing but drawing other people in for the rush of theft was always fun.

When asked about her inky tail and hands though she tilted her head in confusion. "Mm? This?" She'd ask reaching out to touch Ilya's shirt as if trying to wipe the ink off but it didn't leave so much as a single dot on the girl's clothes. "It's only ink when I need to draw, I'm an artist~ Or a painter. It's ink, it's paint, but when I don't need it, it just rests like this~" She spoke fanning her fingers. If Ilya was mystified enough she would do a bit of a display, lowering one palm as the ink seemed to flow down enough for her to swing it gently against the floor to splash some black liquid off her palm. The next second though she'd show Ilya her hand was still dry giving her a full demonstration of her unique rogue art.

Ilya would roll her eyes and puff her chest at Mio's comment on her luck. "Believe it or not, my luck is usually on par with only the best gamblers." She would fiddle with her fingers behind her back, as to not give away the fact that she was lying through her teeth. Her pride just didn't enable her to sink too far in despair at her most recent unluck.

Seeing that the ink didn't leave a single spot on Ilya's shirt, her eyes would widen. "Oh my, that's really smart. You'll have to teach me some tricks to put up my sleeves like that sometime. I just sorta punch things and they tend to leave me alone.. Though you can't really hurt an NPC without getting a bounty or being chased down, and it's safe to say that it isn't good...." Ilya trailed off as she threw up her hands, forming little fists and punching the air to showcase her fighting style in a playful manner. "If only it wasn't immoral to beat the shit out of the dude."

A smile would light her face as she listened to more of what Mio had to say, "It's really cool that you're an artist, I always wished I was good at that kind of thing. I can't even draw a stick figure and make it look good." She chuckled lightly at the thought of when she used to try to get better at drawing, that was before she realized it was definitely NOT in her list of talents. Watching Mio then demonstrate her ability, "It's so cool that you can just move it at will. I wonder how it's done.... Not that i'm asking you to give away your trade secrets of course." She would shake her head so she wouldn't offend the girl, or make her assume that Ilya wanted her to spill her secrets.

"Stealing...." Ilya thought long and hard, her bitterness towards the man that had kicked her out fighting against her pride and need to be a hero. "I don't know about that... Maybe we can find something a bit more... I dunno... Good? In order to get revenge? I've never stolen something before... And what if we got caught?" Ilya was a bubbling mess, obviously taken aback a bit by the proposition that the girl had made. "Maybe we can find a drink somewhere else and come up with better ways for revenge?"

Seeing the act, Mio couldn't help a widening grin, not wanting to out the poor girl who seemed to be embarrassed by her situation. "Oh?~ Is that so?~ Are you sure?~" She'd ask playfully, teasingly, it was a little fun to poke at least... but she at least wouldn't call her out readily!

At the mention of bounties though, she found that thought amusing, after all, it wasn't as if Mio herself hadn't done anything like that but here she was in the middle of town all normal like. "It's not so hard. You just gotta know what you're doing when you make a move like that you know? It's something you sort of develop a knack for once you know what's important. Like this--" She explained, lifting her blackened hands up to her own face for a moment, the ink turning liquid as she began to smear and paint her face slowly with it.

What began as paint, gradually thickened into an almost clay until she shaped another face on top of her own with a few sweeps of her hand becoming a different person at least in the face. "If I took more time I could do everywhere and make it less noticable, but if I do stuff like this some no face is gonna be stuck with a bounty not me." Mio spoke with a small shrug before peeling the mask off slowly revealing that the underside was still black and inky. Once removed it even left her face clean, good as new.

When asked about how it worked though, Mio smiled brightly, proud of her cheesy efforts. "It's just rogue stuff. Using shadows and paints and my real abilities to make something of it. I was always sorta good with my hands." She didn't mind sharing the secret, it wouldn't do anyone any good without the skill to create the images, even if they did have the skill they'd use it for something uniquely their own as an artist rather then copying Mio's work so she didn't hesitate to share.

Though hearing the girl argue morality was funny, for Mio who'd only ever lived on the bad-er side of that line, she giggled as if it were funny. "Good? Eh? Isn't revenge bad by nature? Good people don't do that sort of thing come on, which knight in shining armor kicked down the bad guy's door and beat him up? None-- they all ran straight to some princess and kissed her while she was asleep or something. What're you getting so good at hitting things for if you're not gonna hit stuff?" Mio almost complained, almost whined, it was somewhere in between. To Mio those actions always seemed hypocritical. Everyone always wanted to beat up 'The Bad Guys' but nobody cared who they were, nobody cared about their stories. If someone wanted to be 'Good' they should've helped people before they could be 'Bad' why go through all that effort when the milk was already spoiled?

Listening to everything Mio had to say left Ilya feeling inspired to use her own talents for more than just combat. Perhaps if Ilya took up some kind of mastery she could forge her skills into something else entirely, something that was useful out of combat. It was a lot to think of, and where Ilya was at right now, she decided to put a pin in it and bring it back up to her brain another time.

"You're quite skilled and smart to combine skills like that. I sorta always just I guess, thought with my fists. Even with my Battle Spirits and Divine Magic I forget to combine the two with my fighting style." Ilya definitely had to work on strengthening her brain some more so she could think faster in situations she oftentimes found herself in.

"Well... I don't know... I just guess I'm not super comfortable with just beating someone up for the sake of revenge.. I guess I feel better when I'm just fighting monsters and stuff. Not that it's very different, but still." Ilya trailed off, turning her head to the sky as she thought yet again. Definitely not in the right mindset to even think about any of the stuff like this... Ilya pressed her lips firmly against each other, opening them and closing them again. Her mouth was dry, "Aside from all of that, we should go get that drink you offered me." Ilya winked, "I WILL pay you back... In fact..." Ilya looked down at her travel bag. She unhooked the charm that had been hanging there, made of pure gold and sapphires. "I don't have the gold right now, so how about you hang onto this until I pay you back." Ilya offered Mio the trinket she had been gifted by a village she had helped out closer to her first day back in Terrasphere.

If Mio accepted the collateral, Ilya would smile. If not, Ilya would hook it back on her bag. Either way, Ilya would take the lead and head for a tavern a few buildings away until she stood at the door, "Surely we can have more deep conversations over a few swigs?"

Mio couldn't help warm laughter at the girl's revelation. It was cute, but for Mio who had to make tools for making money and skills for other things besides fighting it was clear that their lives were likely different enough for it to make sense. "Eh? C'mon, you're one of those people who just like to clench their fists and run in flailing? Gotta use your brains a lot more if you wanna survive. You'll start wracking up deaths and end up stuck here at that rate." She'd explain giving the girl's forehead a poke as if hoping to wake her up a little. The rumors of people dying in the game and real life were what caused the government to take things so seriously after all, one shouldn't play fast and loose with life if they don't have to.

Though hearing her resort immediately to beating someone up though she rolled her eyes. "I don't mean we're gonna kick his ass. Let's just take their booze and and skedaddle. By the time they notice, my inky copies will turn into goop and they'll have no idea what happened." She explained thinking that this girl didn't just fight with her fist but might be thinking with them as well. Though she wouldn't refuse a trinket-- The moment it was offered to her, it almost seemed to disappear into her palm the moment it touched down. Mio was after all a talented rogue.

Of course if Ilya still argued with her, she could only shrug wondering how she could have run into two completely altruistic people in a row. "I don't mind, if you don't wanna drink their stuff we're going to have to find a place that's open." She mused rubbing her chin and craning her neck to get a feel for where they were.

Ilya blinked slowly, she knew that death existed but she never thought that it really applied to her. At least, she was faced with dangerous situations, but she always got out safely... Maybe soon her luck would run out? I've gotta really think on my next two masteries I think... Ilya shrugged off her thoughts, she would think about all of that later.

"Pffft, there's no way I would die." She gave Mio a toothy grin, before the two of them moved on. "I..." Ilya didn't like the idea of tricking someone even if they were absolute dicks. "He is a little whore..... I mean... It wouldn't be that bad if we trick him and borrow all of his alcohol..." Ilya paused, What the fuck am I doing....?

Ilya clenched her fists, "If we're going to do this, you're gonna have to give me a disguise. I can't waltz in as the lioness that just got kicked out. We'd have no chance to do anything that you're suggesting." And just like that, Ilya couldn't take back what she said, the offer to get revenge on the bitch was definitely tempting, and it sounded almost sweet.
