The Heart of Titania

zRdVh2U.png

When winter sorrows descend,
and people starve in bed.
When famine strikes fields,
and maggots crawl in meals.

The avatar of gluttony grows,
as the holy bells toll.
Titania, they cry, stay far away,
Exile of High March, the Orphans' Matriarch!

"But it's not sin to need
Nor do parents' love constitute greed.
Why should the lost suffer,
whilst noble blood prosper?"

Her oath once made, now has lead her astray.
For Dissonance decays kind goods, swallows bright souls.
And from wasteland rides the grand beast,
Seeking within Astorea plumper feasts.

"It's not sin to feed,
For justice is in my needs!
Come, one and all,
And dive happily in my maw!"

What catastrophe would arrive
What calamity should deprive
If not for those brave lights
This tale of five, guided by stars bright!

  • Map navigation, from left to right, goes from 1 to 18. From top to bottom, goes from A to H. Note that once you go to G and H, you are off the stage amongst the audience.
  • Movement in this stage is triple its base (so you would be able to move six squares). Dynamicism passives that take this into account are reduced to one-third.
  • Melee attacks can strike from one square away. Support and Protect actions can affect from two squares away. Magic and Ranged attacks can strike from 4 squares away. With the Extension passive, one can affect any target from anywhere in the map.
  • Multiple characters cannot occupy the same space. If possible, try not to line up vertically either, or you'll be blocking the audience's view.
  • In this cycle, your character can appear in any square with a horizontal orientation of 16 to 18.

<< SP: 500/500 >>
If the SP bar is not cleared by the start of Cycle 4, Titania unleashes her special, and sets the tone for the final act.

<< HYPE: 000 >>
Hype counts upwards for damage dealt to Titania. Every 1000 damage dealt increases the value of the Universal Loot at the end, as well as offering up extra boons from the audience during combat.

<< Props and Bonus Actions >>
Stagecraft is an art in and of itself, and in this case, using such devices could grant plenty of opportunity for dramatic mobility that would otherwise not be possible! And of course, if you wanted to lean in on the art of theatrics as well to further excite the audience, that would be great too! Just to note, though: everything here costs a Bonus Action.
  • Flying Systems: Grab onto near-invisible handles or step onto glass-swingsets, and be swung up into the air by the capable stagehands, who will transport you to set destinations around the stage. Move yourself to one of the four corners of the stage (A1, A18, F1, F18).
  • Lift Systems: Tap the ground a specific way, and be dropped down beneath the stage dramatically, only to reappear elsewhere in a true display of switcheroo madness. +4 to Movement, and remove one status effect from yourself.
  • Drive Systems: Using agreed-upon hand-signals, work with the stagehands to alter the terrain features of the stage with your heroic strength and sorcery. Remove a terrain feature from the map.
  • Invoke Dramatics: Can only be used once per Challenge. Drop your catchphrase or reveal a juicy character detail and hype the ever-loving heck out of the audience! Grant a +50 modifier to your Action.
  • Audience Participation: Utilize an Expertise roll to encourage active participation from the audience for a creative bonus to your battle efforts, as decided by the DM. Overuse will tire the audience out.

DRAMATIS PERSONA

The Starlight Troupe has provided catchphrases for you to use at opportune times, as well as offered up some cues for pre-established plotting to get some extra juice out of this melodramatic epic. Though you're not obligated to only read your own notes, sometimes, genuine surprise is more fun than one's acting alone.

"All you need is guts and effort!"

The Hero
is stalwart and big-voiced, as if always speaking with exclamation marks or All Caps. Once, they were Titania's childhood friend, who harbored unrequited feelings of love towards her. In the climax of the story, engage her in close combat and finish her off, then join her in death as the curtains collapse!

"A job is a job, and I need a drink."

The Lancer
has endured great loss over their illustrious life, and seeks a death that has meaning...yet can't shake off the fact that the Redeemed resembles the soulmate that they've lost once. In the middle portion of the story, close in on Titania and unleash a Twiced Critical Attack on her! If successful, make it epic! If unsuccessful, make it tragic!

"I never miss."

The Savage
is the coolest, hottest, buffest of them all, and has the swagger to match, but has a weakspot for the Lancer as well, having made an oath to fill the gaps in their heart after the battle ends. Make use of the Stage Props the best you can, to show off just how stylish the Savage is~!

"Ah, how fleeting, the dispassion of ennui!"

The Songstress
is the aristocrat who first supported the Hero's ambitions, and wishes for nothing more than to see them survive at the end, but after the terrible journey to reach the Heart of Titania, has begun to feel as if maybe they would be fine if only the Savage survived this. Make sure to speak using the biggest and most obscure words you can find!

"All will burn by my hand!"

The Redeemed
seethes with a manic rage that they can only barely suppress, and that rage is fed by a jealousy that they hold towards everyone else and their multi-pronged romantic interests. All they want is the Hero's attention though, the Hero who saved them once from the corrupting influences of their magic! In the climax of the story, unleash a Surged Reckless attack on any target of your choosing, as it all boils over!

Celestine remembered that fight very differently. Stories sure had a way of romanticizing themselves, but this was at a whole ‘nother level. Still, she wasn’t one to complain! An opportunity to sing, to dance, to show the world the beauty of her illusions? Well, there was only one appropriate response to such a call…

Stepping forth into the light, The Songstress held a hand to her chest, closed her eyes, and began to sing…

"Resplendent soul, how you once did shine,
Cast to tenebrosity from your station divine."

"Your night breeds fright, yet ours the stars~!
Let my phrase burn ablaze, illuminate who would inumbrate~!"

"Dissonant rot! We grant thee a swift cessation,
Our hero marches hope across a stalwart nation~!"

Thrusting her hand back toward the stage, The Songstress smiled, beckoning The Hero to arrive after her. Her magic flowed like water to their tongues, boosting the words of the others’ speeches so the whole audience could hear clearly.

Moonsong had some acting classes in the real life early in her career, but it was mostly to build some idol persona. Theatre, though, is a whole different beast. That's why when she was offered to play one of the main characters in The Heart of Titania play, she accepted without pondering about it.

The script was quite long, and there's no way she is cramming all these in a day. Luckily, improvisation was encouraged, as long as they stick to the character and the audience is happy about it. Wait, what was she playing again?

In the dark corner of the stage, a raspy voice came out, dramatically exclaiming.

"Oh, life is naught without thee. Honourable death is all I ever seek."

A hooded person stepped into the light, her boots making tapping sounds as she slowly stumbled into the audience's view. She made sure to turn her head a few times to The Redeemed (@Magi Heart), before trying to shake off the image.

"But right now..."

The Lancer grabbed a liquor bottle strapped into her waist, taking a sip before shooting a one-liner with an extra gravelly voice.

"... I have a job to do."

The tragic mysterious person unsheathed two swords from her back in an epic manner, pointing one to the audience.

Why the fuck am I here? Chrys wasn't entirely sure why he was doing this, but one thing's for certain, he's going to try his best. Am I actually getting paid for this? He tried to hype himself up before the curtains went up, putting to mind the most important thing to him in this world. And the other one, too. I'm getting paid for this, right?

With the confidence of a mountain but the rigidity of the very stone that formed the elevation, The Hero walked on stage right after The Songstress (@Celestine). His strides were powerful and had a purpose as he brought himself out from behind her and closer to the audience, so that he may bless their vision with his role's valiant presence.

"A hero's JOB is never DONE,
Until all BATTLES, great and small, are WON;
Yet what DOES a hero MAKE,
If a hero's heart is DESTINED to BREAK?!"

For a moment or two, the Hero bowed his head solemnly before staring toward the opposite end of the stage, then slowly raising his head from its original downward position. His hands, balled up into fists, found their way on his hips next, as a gentle breeze helped emphasize the cape billowing behind him and sunlight shone over his staunch and devoted form.

Yesterday:

"Raina-chan? Raina-chan where did you go? Ehhhh nrgh..."

Wendel wandered the streets of Finweald. It had become commonplace to do that these days. Always having to find things she could understand or recognize. Wendel was technically a nomad that had to learn to live without civilization due to her... eccentricities.

Today her hunt was for Seigi again.
If anyone was hard to keep up with it would be her.

The pinkette would be passing by a certain theater of some group she never heard of before. It was here that she would be found by someone who would approach her. They would rattle on about how they were looking for her after catching sight of her earlier.

"I'm telling you she'd be perfect! Just look at her, absolutely adorable!"

"That's not the same one you dunce! Look at her scarred face!"

Wendel wasn't sure what was going on but she knew she wanted Raina.

"She could never play the part!"

Part?

"I'm looking for a hero named Seigi. Have you seen her?"

Wendel would be rather confused until another extravagantly dressed person mentioned a hero that used their fists in the play that was planned. The obsessed dissonant would attempt to get more info only to suddenly find herself given another role and some script to read off.

Did they want her to play a hero? There was a time doing that was her forte, after all, when she first entered Terrasphere her vocations were Theatrics and Glory Fighting. Wendel would certainly do her best to save everyone, but Raina came first.

It was then that she learned the name of the play...

The Heart of Titania:

Wandering onto a stage with Chibi Magi sitting on her shoulder eyes wide in excitement. It turned out they didn't want her to play a hero character but rather... an anti-hero of sorts.

The Redeemed.

This annoyed Wendel, so she came in her preferred attire. Black dress and obsidian pumps, the marks on her chest fully visible, and black ribbons in her hair. Her eyes set upon the "Hero" and she was instantly disappointed. It was some jerk. Not her Raina, not a true hero.

Yet this was her chance to be her own champion. Perhaps she could refine her identity here.

They wanted an Anti Hero, she will give them a Dark Savior.

"The Dark Heart is here! savior of the lost heroes!
Where oh where will my chosen hero show her true form?
Starlight, starbright... I am the shadow that strengthens the light...

...through an eclipse of night!"

Chibi Magi made a concerned look but said nothing, she, sadly wouldn't be useful here since no one could likely see her.

"The one who brought harm to my hero, now look at her!"

A gesture at @Chrys.

"My heart hurts with sorrow as episode three drew to a close.
Now I shall reap you like my rose ♥!"

Prior to the day of the performance, even just hours before, Kamala was a bundle of nerves. This wouldn't be her first time performing anything of the sort, but this was most definitely her first time performing something of this magnitude.

As far as she was able to gather, this entire story was a big part of this world's history, and Kamala definitely did not want to muck up anyone's history. Even as she tried her best to calm herself, heading into this performance, she could not help but worry and be concerned. I can do this! I can do this! I'll do a great job! It'll be fine!

The music swelled as the Savage strutted onto the stage, the once meek and often soft-spoken Beastfolk transformed into an unperturbed and self-assured warrior through a combination of creative make-up and her own Illusion Magic.

"Life comes easy, for someone like me,
Best dressed, though, who would've guessed?"

When she found her mark, she stood her ground with relative ease, right knee bent forward and the toes on that same leg gracefully pointing downward. She briefly whipped her hair before one hand found its way on her hip while the other lazily gestured toward The Lancer (@Moonsong), a playful smirk gracing her face.

"That the strongest, fiercest, greatest,
Would swear on her life, her honor, to thee?"

The Heart of Titania

zRdVh2U.png

Stalwart thine advance, the five braves approach,
Each wielding their talents, emboldened by Saintess's hopes,
And yet Titania remains unmoved,
Her void eyes smouldering with reproof.

"You stand against me, Hero?
While children starve, to sate your ego?
Preposterous, Lancer, to draw your blades,
When to that burning drink, you remain a slave.
And what future can a Savage bring?
When your lands remain wild, only by kissing the ring?
Songstress, songstress, upon your gilded tower,
Your words hold no weight before true power.
And do not forget your master, Redeemed,
Lead astray by dark passions, sanity unseamed."

With gesticulation unmatched, dark fascinations unwrap,
Tendrils of corruption tear through the tides,
A half dozen devils, to advance side by side!
Titania's brethren, her orphans deformed.
Horrid creations, yet to her still adored.

"Consume them darling, leave not a scrap behind!
Once he's died a good death, perhaps our virtues shall realign!"

[EMERGE ON RIGHT WING, THE TENTACLES]
YAAAAAA FUCK EM UP, TITS!

Guuuuuh thank you God! The Lancer, they said the lineeeeee!

Hey, hey...is inumbrate even a word?

Damned Hero, can't, see, that, Redeemed!

The Hero discreetly raised an eyebrow when he noticed The Reedemed (@Magi Heart) hiding behind him for some reason. He wasn't a professional actor, but even he knew the basics of stage blocking. Probably just the nerves. First time's always awkward. He immediately shifted his attention towards Titania, this time screaming his lines like a mountain man greeting someone else from so far away:

"FOR YOU, I'VE COME, MY DEAR FRIEND,
COME BACK TO ME, AND LET THIS MADNESS END!"

At the first sight of the tentacles, The Hero wasted no time and rushed towards the one right in front of him, balling up a fist for a straight-up punch to where a face should be if tentacles had faces. But it wasn't just a straight-up punch, as at the last minute, before the actual point of impact, sand and dirt covered The Hero's fist to add more oomph and ouch to the hit!

"NO ONE ELSE NEEDS TO GET HURT,
ALL YOU NEED IS GUTS AND EFFORT!"

He then ended his turn by holding his pose after landing that punch.

To The Savage (@Kamala Graham) who pledged her life for The Lancer, she responded dryly.

"The only smile I wait for is from death."

She tried to glance at The Redeemed from the corner of her eye one last time, before jumping into the front beside the Savage, returning a smile behind the dark shadow of the hood.

"But I suppose yours will do fine for now. Let's do this."

The Lancer moved with precise finesse, because she can peer into the immediate future with the Lancer-Sense, jumping left and right as she approached the spawned tentacles. Her cloaks flutter thanks to the wind blown by the stage team as she propelled herself forward to join The Hero in his Attack on Titania.

"I am no slave to the drinks. These are my friends who stayed with me during my worst..."

Putting herself near the tentacles, she dashes and slashes the one in the farthest spot of the stage with her swords in a spectacular manner, making a deep.

"...And danced with me in the face of death." She grinned with a manic smile.

Some rubbery-looking tentacles would appear leading to Wendel rolling her heterochromatic eyes.

Having been to the places she's been and seen what she's seen. This stuff was hard to get excited over. The crowd wasn't even giving off anything good for Wendel's energy either. So it really was just some filler thingy. Was she not supposed to use her actual magic here?

No way, that would be no fun!

The speeches were sorta kewl tho she had to admit so she would continue those for the time being...

Dashing past the HERO she decided to try and use her inner power some through evoking just a little. Her body glowed with a blood pink aura as she met the gaze of one of the stagehands that looked at her a little unsettled. She wasn't going to attack the pitiful guy...

It was funny how people reacted when they would just go on to do worse than she every day.

Her hand shot up and Gertrude appeared in time for her to be pulled into the air Taking advantage of the height she casually released some blasts rapidly onto the tentacles and watched them melt away. Hey, they wanted a show right? No one said the Redeemed couldn't use actual dark magic and mess the floorboards up some...

Give the people persons what they want.

"You stole my Hero when I was away!
I will melt your heart to acid whether real or fantasy!"

Landing now in front of the crowd she gave them a quick salute much like an idol at a concert. She was using the small remaining memories of such things that she held. Her smile was beginning to twitch some. Perhaps seeing the tentacles burn, or the mention of a "master" from the actress was causing some violence to emerge from the Dark Heart. Still, she maintained an understanding of what was going on.

The Songstress strode across the stage with grace, each step like a careful dance to match the flow of each line. The bright smile turned to frown as the horrific foe called her out. A moment of reflection, then a sigh of serenity returned to her, she raised a hand and sang back...

"Shimmering spires mark my habitation,
Gold, jewels and luxuries invoke such elation.
If we uphold beauty, you are the converse,
Divine now the force of magnificent verse~!"

Each word, each note, each syllable, flowed from the mouth of the Songstress, forming itself into a dazzling pair of golden wings. A divine song, formed into a mantle of blazing light.

"Let my lyrics manifest as wings to thee,
Hero of my heart to impart this destiny~!
Chosen one, Titania's bane, my appointee, and yet..."

The Songstress paused, hand frozen, pointed forward at The Hero as her smile faded, the shimmering mantle ready to fly forth on her command, and yet... she hesitated.

"...Ah, how fleeting, the dispassion of ennui!"

Her mantle froze, the lights dimming as she turned to the audience and stepped closer to the front of the stage.

"My noble blood flows, and by this I was crowned,
I sought out my hero, and thee I hath found.
What once was so novel, no longer profound,
My heart now throbs a much more savage sound~!"

The Songstress turned her hand back to the stage, stepping back once or twice, hand turning from Hero to Savage. Her heart flew forth, enveloping The Savage in golden light.

To Titania, the Savage brushed her off, lazily flipping a hand toward her, as if she was shooing her away, even going as far as looking away:

"Worry not about my future,
Everything is set in place!"

To the Lancer (@Moonsong), she gestured toward her, as if reaching for a distant star with just a bare hand, while grinning from ear to ear:

"Your heart I can always nurture,
Keep your eyes on this pretty face!"

To the crowd, she played herself up, hyping them with her looks and charm, using her perceptiveness to find the ones easily swayed and acknowledging them with a lot of pointing and waving but with a ton of style:

"I never miss, that's just my nature,
With all my gifts, I can always find ways!"

To the tentacle in front of her, finally, she took out her "ballista" and shot it at point-blank, all through her Illusion Magic. And of course some much-needed help from the Songstress (@Celestine). Oh, thank the gods! I'm actually horrible at fighting things. Yet the worried thoughts of Kamala Graham were nowhere near the Savage's face. Instead, the Savage was wildly celebrating her quick victory against the one tentacle.

The Heart of Titania

zRdVh2U.png

Like thunder and stone, the Hero advances alone!
With a fist singular, shadows retreat, not so eager!

The master dances opposite, the Lancer's twinned swords ever-lit!
With the dervish whirling steel, monstrosities once again become unreal!

And the Redeemed remains, dark phantasms retained.
Through great heights they soar, dark bolts doubletimed through the horde.

Whilst the Songstress beseeches the stars, for her hero to reach her mark,
The hymns weave epics ever louder, inspiring mythic power.

All so the Savage can name her aim, a guided bolt amidst the rain.
And in one shot she skewers, two titans felled 'fore they pursue her.

And yet Titania feels no fear, her void eyes shedding but one tear.
Sorrows cause her brow to furrow, and the rage within she allows unburrow!

"Wicked performer, your songs disgrace thine art,
Calling for violence amidst violins, a devil's farce.
You alone I shall discriminate!
Let's hear your voice as you terminate!"

Dark magics surge as tendrils retrograde,
And from back to front, she's pulled, discombobulate!
Within the cage encased,
Within the rage, to face!
Will her song fade?
Or will allies avail her fate!

[EMERGE AROUND POSITION ZERO, THE SONGBIRD'S CAGE]
Ehehehehe...the Savage...she noticed me~!

Hrm, intriguing, the amount of distance kept between the Lancer and the Hero. For two opposites who'd nevertheless are so attracted to each other, it's most curious that this production has so far had them on opposite ends of the stage. Could it be...?

Oh, that's some smooth sailing from the Redeemed over there! Kid's got moves for sure!

Aaah, the classic 'kill the support' move! C'mon, guys! Don't let the Songstress down!

Cycle Resolution

  • All Tentacles slain!
  • @Kamala Graham's Audience Participation, invoking Awareness, enables her to 'snipe' the hearts of her stans with precise aim! Flowers and handkerchiefs are tossed in her direction by her adoring fanbase, granting her a blessing! Once per Challenge, the Savage truly never misses: any d100 roll below 50 can be substituted with a 75.
  • Titania has selected her target, and draws @Celestine towards her with a deathly grasp! Celestine receives 60 (30x2) HP Damage, is moved to D10, and has movement reduced to 0 until the end of the cycle.
  • The Songbird's Cage has been raised! It can be destroyed completely if 350 Damage is dealt cumulatively towards it, but each attack incurs 20 Retal, as the Dissonant metal resonate cacophonously to your attacks. While the Songbird's Cage is up, individuals within the Cage cannot be targeted by those outside the Cage, and crossing in and out of the cage requires a DC 80 Knack or Fitness check.
  • If Celestine remains isolated within the Songbird's Cage by the end of this cycle, something unpleasant may happen.
  • @Moonsong senses it. In the upcoming cycle, with the looming threat of Titania's SP bar, the Lancer will be forced to unleash the special wombo.

Combat

bfd0f16c21.png

<< SP: 460/500 >>
If the SP bar is not cleared by the start of Cycle 4, Titania unleashes her special, and sets the tone for the final act.

<< HYPE: 492 >>

The cage rose and The Songstress was trapped within.

Wendel knew what it felt like to be trapped. Caged and unable to do anything she wanted to do. The memories of being too weak to do anything as Magi, too enslaved to do anything as Tenebris... She was unable to be with Raina when it mattered and it was this thing's fault!

A Hero was here though.
A Hero that would surely fail as they all do.

It's just a play, but one about something Wendel could not leave behind.

"H̷͖͝e̵̞̎ř̷̺õ̸̯ you must act the part if you deserve my heart!
I have done my suffering and learned its place...
To bring an end to all this disgrace..."
Her hate for the one who harmed Raina.
Her hate for the masses that just went on with their lives here, watching the battle that killed a true hero for amusement... It was time for them to remember some truth about their lives., and for Wendel to get this off her chest once and for all. Then she could focus on.. Raina... Raina... Raina.

A dark smile as she spun. Chibi Magi blinked in an out of existence as Wendel unleashed more dissonant energy from herself.

But she was the Dark Savior, and she would do it STYLISHLY.

Each step of the heel, each shift of an arm as she made her way across the front of the stage towards the cage. Each part of her body burst in a blood-pink aura that wrapped around her like ribbons. Her pink hair grays more in parts. Gertrude curved and twisting in her hand into an even more bow-like shape as she finally finished and laid her hand upon the cage.

"Everyone!"
(Her head twisted sharply towards the audience.)
"Who did you l̴͕̓ö̶̜́s̶̎͜e̸͕͋?̴͔͋
Where were you this day?
What could you do?
When the Fire Beast raged, the Tyrant King reigned, and this M̸̺͌ó̸ͅṅ̴̻ṣ̸́t̶̥̑ê̸͎r̵̼̂ ̷̼̋ẅ̸͈́e̶̼͑n̷͍̾t̵͈̿ ̷̻̀ȏ̴̳n̶̠͒ ̵̲̍p̷͌͜a̷͈̚r̷̬̈́a̸̞̽d̴͍̒e̸͓͗.̸̓͜

-20 HP from Songbird's Cage Retal

The Hero stood tall and towering as he watched the Songbird's Cage get raised. He squinted for a moment or two in their direction, turning his body toward them, as he used his Auric Geomancy to once again billow his cape for that sweet, sweet dramatic effect.

"TITANIA, I IMPLORE THEE TO CEASE:
THE SONGSTRESS, YOU MUST RELEASE,
IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO CHANGE OUR FATE,
A BRIGHT NEW FUTURE WE SHALL CREATE!"

Once he felt that he has had that heroic moment, his turn in the spotlight, he punched his open palm, his body now intentionally facing the audience, even as his own face remained in the direction of Titania and the captured Songstress.

"BUT IF YOU RESIST AND WON'T DESIST,
THEN I'M AFRAID I HAVE NO CHOICE:
I MUST INSIST, AND I WILL ASSIST,
THE SILENCE OF YOUR VILE VOICE!"

The Hero then leaped toward the cage, punching it with all his might, his fist reinforced with all the sand and dust he could muster with his magic, his face burning with pure determination.

"Songstress!" The Lancer growled as Titania pulled their precious team member into a hold. "How cowardly."

"Hero!"
She called to her fellow frontliner to help her burst open the cage, but the cage wall bounced off all their mighty strikes and retaliated back. "She's releasing something! We have to get her free fast!" Moonsong dramatically exclaimed an exposition for the audience as the corner of her eyes caught the signal from the stage team that the next phase was coming soon. It seems that the Redeemed is also charging her next big attack.

"Do you think you can discourage us by capturing one of our own?" She shouted to Titania, timing as @Magi Heart riled up the crowd and the fist strike of @Chrys connected before making a signal with her fingers for the stage team to use the drive systems.

"Let. her. go!"

She swung her dual swords simultaneously, clashing with the walls of the cage, creating echoing metal clanging sounds. Man, these props are high quality.

The cage should disperse as both of their attack connected if she read the memo right.

The Savage quickly looked around, and upon finding what her narrowed eyes had wanted to hunt, grabbed onto near-invisible handles. Almost immediately, she was swung up into the air by the very capable and quick-thinking stagehands. The Savage moved her own body around, aiming for the part of the stage on the opposite end of where The Redeemed was. When she was near it, she threw herself upward, did a flip, and landed gracefully on her two feet, knees bent, a picture-perfect and much better version of the superhero landing.

Once again, she whipped her hair, downplaying her great effort.

"The Hero's fist, The Lander's swords,
Together, they took down the cage!
It's not time to mince my words,
Let my arrow fly with RAAAAAAAAAAGE!"

Then she took out her "ballista" and fired a steady shot at Titania herself. Or at the cage if it's still around.

The Songstress cried aloud as she was whisked forth into the diabolical cage by their foe, the shadowy tentacles marking the stage around her as she glanced around in terror.

"Hey, do the watching of it…!" her actress protested in a hushed whisper to the shadow mage beneath her, who was getting a bit handsy with the tentacles. This whole scene was starting to invoke some PTSD moments she’d really rather forget.

But the show must go on! Instead, she’d channel that horror into a more convincing act!

"Though you erect this cage I must reside,
Still I will sing a symphony with pride!
Supposing yours is love and mine is hate,
Yet alone you stand: your defining trait~!"

In perfect timing, The Lancer burst through, showering the two in shimmering bits of a shattered cage. Magic flowed from The Songstress’s hand and surrounded The Lancer’s blades, causing them to glow… slightly.

… Slightly? Had she cast that spell correctly? Huh. Weird.

The Heart of Titania

Twinned efforts collapse the Songbird's cage,
And with its fall, the Savage lets loose her rage!
A bolt out of the blue, her aim quite true,
But the foe in solitude possesses a most wicked aptitude!

"Your words inspire but hate,
And your songs resound third-rate,
Towards you, no one fixates,
And so, Songstress? Checkmate."

A piercing blow! How ruthless she chose!
To uphold her foe, and let friend strike the blow!
Songstress drops, her life bled out of hope.
That bolt out of the blue, its aim true? Nope!

"And did you believe you'd escape my gaze?
Oh little shadow-witch, relishing in joyous hate?
Ever separated, sins not effaced
Gods stain your fate, let your will desiccate."

The situation worsens, fears manifest in full
As hellspace encloses, all efforts made null,
Will these heroes fall, fold?
Or will they make a myth yet untold?!

[BRASS HORNS BLARE WITH ANTICIPATION]
Right...how could I have forgotten. Those nightmarish times, those tragic circumstances...Redeemed! Rip that bitch to shreds!!

Oh baby, getting spicy in here now! Sick Cross Collapse, you two! I ship it!

Uncharacteristic for the Savage to drop back in such circumstances. Hrm, what play is this indeed?

What a dirty play...I love it~<3

Her fans spout out bloodthirsty, villainous lines in accordance to Magi's own anti-hero character, granting her a blessing! Once per Challenge, the Redeemed fully embraces the taboo and can perform the Exceed Bonus Action as a free action.
  • Titania, displeased indeed by @Celestine's words, continues her violence! In a dramatic turn of events, she uses the Songstress as a shield against the Savage's ballista bolt! Celestine receives 80 (40x2) HP Damage, and is Bleeding. At the start of her next Action, Celestine will receive 20 damage. If this reduces her HP to 0, she is immediately KO'd and her Action is nulled.

On a failure, she becomes Hexed: all attacks she performs this turn will be made with a disadvantage, and if this status effect is removed, she takes 20 HP damage.

The Hero scowled, balling his hands into fists. He's clearly feeling the race to the finish now. Clenching his teeth, he rushed towards Titania with a straight punch to the face, hoping it would be enough to knock her out. Or knock some sense into her. Whatever works.

"ENOUGH, TITANIA!
BREAK FREE OF THIS MANIA!
THIS ISN'T YOU, MY FRIEND,
ALL THIS WE CAN STILL MEND!"

In reality, however, The Hero's fist didn't actually make any contact with Titania's face. Instead, the barely visible sand and dirt from his Auric Geomancy threw themselves right in Titania's eyes. With this, he hoped it would give them the opportunity to rescue the others, force Titania to break her hold on them, and maybe have the other two still free behind him ( @Moonsong @Kamala Graham ) do their respective thing. Hopefully not shoot him in the back or something.

Speaking of his back, the Hero's cape still billowed like there was a breeze following him around, his hair wafting in the wind. Most of this was possible through his magic and some stage creativity. The Hero himself didn't think much of it. He was there to punch and look good doing it. The rest was noise. I just wish my lines were better.
