Max pursed his lips, clenching his fist and voicing it firmly- "I said I am sorry." He said, loud and clear. "Sorry for calling you a weird dog." Max crossed his arms, with his eyes trailing to the dust of lost loot the Doggo had mentioned about, making him suppress a sigh and shrug, defeated about the fact he had lost part of it.

"Yeah, whatever. It is gone now." He rolled his eyes, handwaving about the dust, slapping the dirt out of his clothes and preparing himself to leave that area and maybe run off to somewhere else, especially considering the fluke that had just happened.

However, the dog-girl seemed to need, but probably not wish, his company for something else.

His eyes trailed at her, for a moment considering that perhaps she was just plotting to use him to gather more loot over his expanse... Something that made him a bit mad for a moment, almost giving him the willpower to just tell her to handle it herself.

But honestly, being called a chicken boy was bad. Being called a chicken boy and leaving her alone which probably only proved her point was even worse.

It totally wasn't because he didn't want her to get hurt though.

"Well, yeah? Then let's look for it. But I will tell you one thing, the loot sharing will be fair and square. Alright? Not counting the loot I already got-!"
He huffed, just to make sure he wasn't falling into some trap, like someone would dodge a devil contract.

That last firm apology made her recoil a little. She didn't expect him to be this bold, but neither be too mad about it either. Not when she should be a bit more serious about his loot...

Apology accepted!

She left a little 'hm!' out of her mouth and nodded, only now tugging at her heartstrings a little more to hear him disregard his loot that hard, when earlier he seemingly could chase her through the whole game if needed to recover it. And she knew no apology could solve that.

So instead, she did the second best to that. The circumstances were a bit spooky, but she didn't mind it with how things had turned on her favour. His confirmation was all she needed to jump full of joy onto the air, almost completely ignoring his terms.

YAY! LET'S GO THEN!

No yes or no here, Doggo sent her hand lightning fast towards the monke and grabbed him by the wrist, hoping to drag him along as she ran off towards the bushes and trees they had been hiding earlier and way past that, deeper into the woods.

I heard something around here earlier. But I didn't get a good look at it. I heard that this part of the forest is full of spirits or some stuff, and that if you talk them away they have loot.

The last part felt dubious, even if that sounded like something a ghost would do for sending them off. Still, with what hands or what loot would they really pay? They can't even be sure they could grab it.

Huh... Weird, I didn't map out this part of the forest.

Even if it had always been in plain sight from uphill, this side of Brisshal had gone completely unnoticed, and sniffing the air revealed a concentration of magic that ran deeper, like a main lake of sorts for leylines. But the terms escaped her mind, only the 'feeling' remained.

Hey, why don't you climb a tree or something? Maybe you can see better from above.

Max wasn't sure of what to think about this whole ordeal. At least the girl had finally cheered up or something, but that didn't bring his loot back, nor a smile back to his face. No, if anything, the more he thought about it, the more he was sulking. It was his gems, it was his loot, and now he was feeling emotionally forced to go along with @Little Doggo into some adventure of the sorts.

An adventure he wanted to do by himself, but he also couldn't bring himself to tell her to fuck off to somewhere else, so he could try to keep the rest of the loot to himself.

"Spirits that give away loot? That's some big fat lie I'm willing to listen." He said, continuing to move along, and keeping his attention raised for any glim of a chest, any group of anything that would drop some loot for them to take on.

"Didn't map out? Where did you toggle the map? It doesn't show up in my UI." Max pointed out, a bit annoyed that she knew more about the game than he did- Even if he had logged like... About eight hours ago only. At the suggestion, Max turned to face Doggo, looking around and finding a tree that seemed big enough, before taking a hold on it and starting to make his way upwards, swiftly and with a jump after another, making full use of his tail for extra acrobatic maneuvering until he was all the way up.

He squinted, looking around, and around... and around...

Until he noticed a clearing near the base of a cliff, with several greenskins surrounding what seemed to be a rather large gem.

"Woah..." Max's eyes brimmed, and he slid down the tree, just as swiftly as he climbed up.

"Perfect. There is a group of goblins not too far, and they have a damn huge gem." He opened his arms for emphasis.

Doggo turned around with a little spin, walking backwards like a total show off as she turned her eyes back at him when he called the story a ruse, getting a big shrug out of her.

Probably! But no one said it wouldn't be fun to go and find out. Imagine if it's true.

She could only dream of ghost giving them treasure, for long enough that she bumped onto a tree and groaned from the impact, just as he begun to question about a map and the UI-- Oh poor Max, he certainly don't know what he got into, and she would make full use of her bragging rights by teaching him so!

No UI map! All Explorers learn to do their own maps.

Doggo explained, pulling up her ui to bring out one of her maps out of the inventory, spreading the papyrus as she halted on her tracks to give him a bet- Aaand he went up the tree...

Blegh!

She huffed, waiting for him to come back down with the map under her armpit, tapping ceaselessly aganst the floor, but it didn't sound as well as it did on solid dirt. the grass padded a lot the tapping sound from her shoes.

All offenses were forgiven once he mentioned a big gem, only to make emphasis on just how big it was. And that was HUGE for a gem, enough to make her eyes turn to yuan symbols at least.

Hohoho, bingo!

DOGGO couped her hands together like one of these goblins with a hunched back and all, before finally clearing her throat and stashing her map away. They wouldn't need any more mapping right now anyways.

Let's beat 'em up. But this time, we gonna get some help!

Doggo pulled out her catalyst that hanged from a chain by her backpack, her right hand swirling above the open pages of her spellbook. Water then begun to erupt out of the cork from a bottle she carried, a container specifically meant to keep the liquid at hand should she need it. It was malleable, and with just a few strokes, Bao made sure to give them familiar shapes right before freezing both 'statues'.

"OOK OOK EEEK EEK!"

The monke duo slapped their chilly fists against their chests and looked over to Doggo then to Max, who they identified as a fellow ape and stuck by his side, as per Doggo's command.

Captain monkey, are you ready?

Max glanced down at the map stuck under Doggo's arm. "No UI Mini Map? This game is barebones." they forgot the simplest thing on game?

"But it is good to know we won't get lost. Are you good with maps or something? Are you a geography nerd? My grades on it sucks, B at most, I'm better at math." He said, for no reason in particularly aside from bragging he was good at math.

His attention, however, soon was drawed to the ice sculptures that were quickly made... And as soon as their familiar figure moved and approached with a chattering sound, he frowned.

"You really like monkeys, don't you?" Max questioned, squinting at Doggo, suspicious that this was probably some sort of prank she was trying to pull on him, or some subtle joke or slander that he wasn't understanding. It wouldn't be the first time someone would be laughing at him without he even managing to put pieces together to find out what was so funny in first place.

Still, he didn't allow it to get on his mind for too long. "Yeah, I'm ready anyway. I guess you are one that likes to shoot magic, so just make sure you aren't close to the enemies or anything." He warned, taking his wooden sword on a hand and marching ahead.

It didn't take long for the two beastfolk kids to approach the clearing, albeit sneakily and keeping a cautious distance, with the sounds of crude drums foretelling that some sort of ritual or something similar had been initiated.

Several goblins danced, some with drums that were about half of their size tied around their shoulders as they slammed it with clubs, while some others sang in harmony, in a way that even sounded 'pretty' despite their language sounding so harsh and raspy.

On the center of this dancing, a large, bulky goblinoid stood imponent, as a chieftain that inspired the smaller goblins to fight and keep going.

With the chieftain... The source of the beastfolk's greedy was held as a bulky tip of the chieftain's club, that created a cristalized edge to the large weapon it held. For most of part, the chieftain held the club for the others goblins to revere it, almost as if it was a holy symbol of the sorts.

His complaints reminded her to her own, and her inner-doggo nodded as if her only way to agree with him would be internally, but even her spiritual self knew better than to agree with the monkey once he called her a nerd, pouting audibly back at him.

I learned from my big sis... And uhm, some explorer lady I work with! A veteran explorer!

She cleared her throat before correcting herself. He may be a friendly kid, but strangers are strangers, so sharing much was out of the question for her.

Oi. Good at math? Where did you learn to count, huh? You tried to attack a lot of goblins by yourself earlier like you had a chance...

Finishing her spell, Doggo simply admired her 'constructs' of sorts as the monkeys got closer to Max as if he were their leader, but apparently his feelings weren't as pumped up as her own in that regard giving the suspicious look he shot back at her.

I DON'T!

Just thought it would be cool to have a monkey army, since you are a monkey... But fine! No good things for you then!

Doggo huffed, rewarding his ungratefulness with the most generic ice elementals she could create, making them look like some faceless chunky of ice with legs and arms.

With the distance cut short, she finally got to see what he meant with a 'large' gem, even if behind bushes and leaves made it hard to get a full picture of it, only that it was in the possession of a clear 'boss fight' from Terrasphere.

Woah... Look at the size of that gem. And dude. And it even has engravings or something. A butterfly!

She mumbled, because eyesight alone told her It wasn't a simple gem or else the pattern wouldn't seem so strange to her at this distance. But the real problem would be to get through all these without so much of a scratch. They weren't on 'battle' Mode at least, more like 'let's dance and praise this guy's gem!' Mode.

Alright. Let's beat 'em up and take that gem then run.

Doggo rested her closed fist on an open palm as her inner strategist gave the simplest of commands, before she hopped out of the bushes and-

GRRR! CHARGEEEEEEEEEEEE!

She shouted to the top of her lungs, with her elementals taking the frontlines, one of them rising it's fists to slam down on the one goblin who had their backs turned against them, burying him a few inches into the dirt before the group finally reacted.

While they had no weapons for the first few moments, panic made them all take a step back and run once they realized they were under-attack. The first one to get on the offense was a goblin with a particulary funny hat, whose bone-staff with a cow skull at the top served as more than just a stick to cheer up on her performing brothers.

A purple orb begun to form at the mouth of that skull, as pure magic released itself into a monstrous shriek that send waves and waves of it, disrupting the elementals Doggo summoned and pushing them on their backfoots.

M-MAX!

She clinged to her ears with one hand, the other pointing out to the staff-wielding goblin, who was buying enough time for his brethen who were seemingly unaffected by the noise itself.

"I see, so a lot of people got your back, huh? Makes me wonder what are you doing around here there, you should be having some exploration somewhere better, this place's loot is garbage. The cost-benefit sucks." He frowned, knowing only these glowstones were remotely valuable, and he didn't even know how much valuable, nor he knew how much trouble it would've caused.

Max paid no mind for the complaints of Doggo, shrugging and marching forward with his wooden sword, ready to use it to bonk the enemies as they would need.

As they went on, Max halted his steps when Doggo did, crouching and squinting at the gem. "You are right, that's a hella pretty gem. But if it is on the hand of that giant idiot, we will need to either knock him down or cut his hand off."

Max turned to ask Doggo- "Which one do you think-" And she hopped into combat.

He blinked for a moment, soon noticing the swarm that was incoming.

THE HORDE ATTACKS

"Shit, Doggo!" Max called, gripping his sword and leaping, charging in not like a monke, but like a bull toward the Shaman, swinging his blade while aiming at the goblin, roaring a warcry before the goblin cackled, disappearing from his sight.

His swing went on through air, not hitting anything and almost making the boy lose his balance.

"The hell-?!" He huffed, getting back on his feet and scooting closer to the fellow beastfolk, seeing the barrage of goblins that were approaching... Along with the Big Ass Fucking Guy that had a club that towered both of them together.

"Yeah, no. Fuck this shit. That guy. That guy over there is cheating-!" He pointed shamelessly at the Shaman. "And that guy over there, I don't like him, that giant club is bullshit!" He pointed at the big guy.

"Anyway, time to get some ass kicking." Max huffed, pumping himself up and standing in an offensive stance in front of Doggo.

No place is fully explored. Maybe there's a secret dungeon right beneath our feet and we don't know it. It's my job to find out.

Her hand gestured over to the group of goblins they were about to assault as an example. They had stones, they had some fancy ornamented club, they had all the things they were after: Loot!

And he seemed to agree, which was all she needed to know out of his mouth at this moment, a 'Yes Doggo time to attack' sort of answer that her brain imagined. But while he talked, she hoped in, because losers were always last and she was no loser!

Thankfully, the loser was right there to help her out once the shaman begun it's chanting that immobilized her dead on her tracks, the screech on her ears finally dying off as soon as Max's sword phased through- nothing?

H-huh?! Hey that's-

Max took the words right out of her mouth, sort of, as the shaman turned out to have blinked away from his strike in the most scummy way possible, before she gave him a soft smack on the head with her spellbook.

❰ BONK! ❱

No bad words!

And yet with that bonk, Max wouldn't feel much but a sting that reciprocated all across his body and tail, until every bit of the monkey was EMPOWERED by LIL' DOGGO's magic that surged from within. If there was a power fantasy, it had to be this one.

The familiar cold begun to crawl over his arm, and water attached itself onto his blade to once again form the ice sword of earlier for him to crush the cheaters with.

NOW HIT THAT DUMMY!

She growled ferociously, pointing a finger straight to the Goblin Shaman.

"Ow! FU- OKAY OKAY! I WON'T SAY BAD WORDS!" He hissed, rubbing his head and feeling the power slowly creeping around his sword, peeking at the wood turning into something stronger and more resistant, with the crystalized ice making it durable and fiercer.

"You will pay for hurting the Doggo-" Max threatened, looking at the Shaman and darting off at him, feeling the icy touch of the spell that wrapped his training sword, with his speed building up, fiercely thrusting his blade forward, hoping to stab the Shaman that quickly disappeared from his sight, teleporting behind him and cackling-

However, Max was prepared this time, taking a quick scoot backward and stretching his tail as far as he could, catching the Shaman by surprise and pulling it by the ankle, making it lose balance and fall with its back on the ground, connecting its head with a stone that stunned it momentarily.

Taking opportunity of the time bought, Max followed with a back flip, throwing his blade in a downward strike as gravity did the rest of the job, crushing the ice against the shaman's head, in such a way that even the skull it wore on its head wasn't enough to protect it.

Standing, Max swung his blade and kept it stretched, like a monke wall with a chunk of ice on his hand.

Taunting (45)

"Next one is you, Big-Nosed-Baldie!"

The large and bulky Champion Goblin glared at the boy, holding its club and narrowing its eyes while the other goblins charged ahead, only ever increasing in numbers, relentles approaching as it seemed that they would swarm the two of them with ease very, very soon.

After the first wave of goblins charged in, keeping the two of them occupied, the Champion charged ahead, swinging its club and slamming with all strength he could at Max, throwing him with raw strength at @Little Doggo, making the two kids crash on each other.

LIL' DOGGO saw the initiative on Max and exposed herself instead once he darted off, splashing water all over the inferior minions as a means to challenge them. They were still dumb green skins, so of course they would fall for a simple taunt and a tongue lolled out.

BLEEH! DUMB SHORTIES! WHAT YOU LOOKING AT?

The pot calling the kettle black, but they were even shorter so it didn't matter that much so long as it got the job done. Surprisingly? It did, as they charged towards her instead, good news! The bad news is, their spears hurt and Doggo was forced to rise a water bubble to protect herself from the onslaught, her eye catching a glance of Max being tricked once again by the shaman, and a bead of sweat roped down her temples at the sight, at least until the tides turned once the monkey adapted quite faster than she could imagine, destroying that goblin with a simple smack over the head after doing an unecessarily epic backflip.

Woah! That was so cool, you have to teach me that!

Could Ruby even do a backflip like that?! There wasn't time to think after she bursted the bubble around her and pushed the goblin minions away and Max declared who his next target would be, her cheeks still a little rosey from his last declarations, like he suddently was her best friend of something that he would jump and beat up bad goblins with sharp tools over the head if they so dared to hurt her.

Hehe... He-

But before she could vask further on their short-lived victory, her eyes tilted as she heard the closest to an 'oof', and the next her baby blues saw was a monkey propelled in her direction, slamming one against the other and rolling onto the floor like two sacks of potatoes, her spellbook dropping off from her hands and landing on the hands of one of these minions, who seized the treasure as his own while the caenis tried her best to recover her senses.

Nnggh... T-that hurt.

A tear rolled down her cheek as her sore body tried to lift itself back up. The pain just seared every nerve with electricity, despite there being measures to numb it down. Her left hand spread towards Max, as a chunk of the ice on his training sword melted and splashed his face instead, both to make sure he's awake, and for the healing waters could be absorbed by the pores on his skin and seal his wounds clean once again.

Get up! It's not over!

Doggo slammed her free hand onto the ground, and the air itself turned cold to form a wall between themselves and the goblin minions, before it suddently pressed onwards and pushed them all away, shattering on impact with these gremlins.

W-we should hurry though. Let's take that guy down and steal the gem!

There wasn't time for him to brag about his acrobatic skills. Not when he had been thrown aside like a ragdoll, only to crash on Doggo.

"Grrr- Doggo... Are you okay?

Max asked, squirming to get back on his feet and noticing the tear rolling down, just as her spell seemed to touch his wounds, closing them.

"Now you've done it, you ducker." He hated this kind of censoring, but honestly getting hit by a giant crystalized club was already painful enough to add a girl hitting his head as well.

Charging in, Max trampled past the smaller goblins, that somehow seemed more ferocious, merciless on their attacks and not quite allowing him to go through them, trying to trample his way while swinging his ice weapon to clash against the face of one or another enemy, throwing them aside and body slamming the last one that served as an obstacle before he threw himself toward the Champion.

"TAKE THIS!" Max roared, thrusting the sword on the giant goblinoid's shoulder, piercing skin and flesh while part of the monster's shoulder crystalized in ice.

Despite the attack, however, the monster didn't stagger, glaring down at Max and grabbing him by the legs before tossing him upwards, roaring orders for the smaller goblins to attack harder, before swinging his club to slam it against the falling and flailing Max, nearly crushing the boy against the ground.

Afraid.

D-don't worry about me. You are getting hit really hard!

She didn't want to be ungrateful, but her own reason had started to falter a little with the pressuring advance of the goblins that didn't grow any lighter even when Max pressed onwards, and this time, they all retaliated like they haven't before, without her own assistance it proved that quantity beat their quality.

But there was a little hope once Max actually managed to strike the Champion, only for the beefhead to remain unphased to the attack. All the hairs in her tail jolted up as she soon pushed the waters within one of the cauldrons the goblins were cooking on to send the boiling liquid to splash all over their formation to give some moments of respite to the monkey now that he landed-

"MAAAAAAAAX!" Her throat almost closed from that scream alone. Her sight averted for a second, and in a blink of an eye her partner had been picked like a ball and slammed onto the ground in one singular motion. Her legs quivered in fear as their numbers increased and all she had done was stand on this exact same spot, hoping for Max to solve the issue.

LIL' DOGGO pushed herself back up to her feet and ran towards her fallen friend, dropping on top of him like one does to shield a grenade from everyone else, only this was to protect him from the coordinated assault of the Goblin Minions, commanded by the now furious big bad goblin. The few pointy ends that struck her were pushed away once magic finally responded to her, but the deed had been done and her pained howls made her bite down on her own teeth.

Max are you o-okay? I'm he-h-ealing you, how many fingers do you see..?

The process took longer than usual for the waters to solidify over his wounds and for the ice to become a part of his body to replace the damaged bits.

Little Doggo's warnings were far more severe than Max gave credit for. When the Champion went to counter Max's attack, there was little to no room for him to react before he was brutally retaliated, so painfully that even with the pain limiter, some tears formed in his eyes.

Max closed his eyes, coughing exasperated, feeling his body stagger.

He breathed heavily, with his limbs quivering while he waited his HP that kept dropping and emptying to reach zero. Swarmed by goblins, there was no room for salvation, not when he was fallen and unmoving.

However, soon a whimper caught his attention, making his eyes open only to see Doggo on top of him. "Wh... What..? Fingers..?" Max frowned, seeing her expressions, and the ice coating his wounds... but the goblins remained merciless, and as soon as he noticed what was happening, opening his eyes widely and noticing the Champion approaching and jolting from his laying position, holding Doggo and shielding her from the incoming strikes, with one, two, three slams on his back making him grit his teeth, trying to brute force through the hits.

"Wh-Why, Doggo? Goddamn it... Why did you?" He stared at the blood escaping from her, caused by the stupid greenskins, the stupid careless move he did and his incompetence. The faces and words of his parents echoed in his mind, and he stumbled his way forward, dragging Doggo out of the immediate attack while grabbing his fallen weapon and turning to face the enemy when he finally let her go.

"You..." Max's expression became gravely serious, with his steps approaching, and a low growl escaping his lips.

"You fucker." He held his blade, with his voice being intense yet not as loud as the usual.

Taunting (96)

"I said: Don't hit the Doggo."

Swinging an arc, Max slashed diagonally, fiercely sinking the ice blade against the Champion's chest and forcing it forward, hoping to make it stumble away. The last bit of ice melted away, with the wood surface of the sword returning, and Max taking a step back, trying to cover Doggo with an arm and his sword.

"Doggo. More ice."

He asked, scowling.

"I'm gonna make this shit-faced asshole hurt."

Afraid.

Her eyes shut tight once a few seconds passed and she could swear something would strike her down at any moment, despite having no way to know. Fear forced her to act in the way she imagined only Yuhan could in a situation like this. She would protect him, make sure no harm fell upon him. But even trying to do so made her limbs shakey and her breathing unsteady. She cursed that lack of valor in silence.

Until her world was flipped, quite literally, as the monkey decided to be the shield instead.

Because I wanted to help.

She couldn't concentrate under so much pressure, and even her voice had begun to lose it's drive between sobs. Casting a spell was a hindsight option. Yet the small breathing room Max gave them now that they were out of the way from the line of fire let her focus yet again on his wounds.

"Doggo. More ice."

He wasn't asking, and yet her eyes darted from his sword back to the blood pouring from his open wounds, many of them she had closed once, and perhaps that was the only thing keeping him on his feet right now.

...

No Max you are too hurt... Pl-play defensive!

The last drops of water spread out of her bottle and begun to condense around his wounds like a salve, attaching itself and stopping the bleeding on the lesser cuts and scratches, while mending the most severe of his injuries with raw magical power.

Aim for that crystal! W-we are here just for that!

She repositioned herself once again, taking a few steps back while having Max being at the front and give him at least some reassurance that she wouldn't be caught as soon as he made a move.

His teeth- His fangs gritted as he turned to look at Doggo, with his eyes flaring in rage.

"Doggo! I said more ice!"

He roared, but before he followed up with a more ferocious 'order', the worried look on her face made him freeze, 'relaxing' his muscles and focusing on the Champion's movements and waiting for his incoming attack.

When the club was swung, Max leaped toward it, trying to intercept it and cut it short, feeling it crushing against his body but enduring it while he held onto the club tightly, especially at the gem.

"Grrr- I-I'm counting on you to not die, Doggo!" Max said, entangling his tail and his legs on the gem, and using his free hands to raise his sword and sink in between the club and the gem, trying to lever it out of the Champion's weapon.

The gem barely budged, however, and the Champion growled, swinging the club back and forth, trying to shake Max away of it.

The anger in his eyes froze her blood and filled her with doubt once she lost course of action. She had a firm belief on what she had to do, and yet was it the right thing to do? He didn't seem happy about it in the slightest.

DOGGO shut her eyes in the verge of panic, only a second after reminding herself she couldn't just curl on the ground even if she wanted to. A rusty iron sword made sure to remind her of such as it's serrated edge barely scratched away at her arm, were it not for her sharp senses that played in her favour for once instead of overwhelm her with stimuli, giving her enough time to sidestep and stumble away from the serrated edge.

I'M TRYING, JUST HURRY!

She shouted, fingers wiggling on the air as frost begun to weave onto her nails before spraying infront of her to create a path to slide upon and create some distance between herself and the small fry, sending that same frost towards the champion and Max afterwards, with it sticking on the monkey boy and creating a layer of flexible, magical armour to at least shield him from what she already assumes is gonna happen: getting bonked.

Max's listened to Doggo's orders, forcing his blade deeper into the gem and trying to lever it further... However, it remained firm, and the retaliation came forth with a strong grip of the Champion on Max's tail, making him yelp and try to tug it away, but to no avail.

"Get off my tail, you fucking-" Max roared, sinking his fangs into the Champion's wrist, bringing out a painful scream from the giant goblinoid and quickly making his way to the face of the goblin, pummeling his face, scratching and biting his nose with a strong pull, ripping off a chunk of it.

The Champion roared, though its initial counter attack was halted by Doggo's frost, staggering him for a moment and allowing Max to double down with his attack, body slamming the chin of the monster and going for another scratch, one that blinded the left eye of the champion.

Exhausted, the Champion seemed to be in the verge of crumbling.

It dragged its feet, almost seeming to tumble for a moment, giving Max the false sense of security to charge in for another reckless strike-

Which was when he was stomped, literally.

An abrupt surge of speed, perhaps a second wind of the enemy they faced was the monkey's boy's doom, that suddenly felt the heavy weight of the Champion nearly crushing him against the ground, before a second, a third, and a fourth stomp wiped out every breath he held in his lungs.

Then, the Champion reached for his legs, lifting the bloodied monkey, that struggled and casted a glance at Doggo, using his Primal Aura to urge her to either attack or to escape, before he was forcibly thrown against a tree, falling limp next to it, with a quartet of goblins following him and starting to pummel and kick the fallen boy, giving no mercy or room for him to recover.

The Champion returned his attention to Doggo, the last menace he had to deal with, raising his club and ordering in a war cry for the minions to catch her, forcing a horde to target her.

The armor around Max fell apart, and Doggo's arms extended out to re-cast her spell, only to be caught by surprise once one of the goblins had a jump on her, using it's hands to yank from her hair. Needless to say, she couldn't focus between the pain and the way this particular goblin tried to hit her with his free hand, forcing her to not only drop her cast but cover her face from a one armed barrage.

"M-MAAX!!" She cried out, stumbling backwards and slamming herself and the goblin against one of the trees, the blunt force apparently enough to make it get off from her for a few seconds, enough time to turn around and freeze it's arms against the bark. "That will teach you!" She huffed, turning around once a sensation tingled in her mind, an eye opening realization that forced her head to crank almost instantly back to the champion and the bloodied monkey as they shared that one last stare.

The last second before his body ragdolled against a tree and her words choked inside of her throat, only to lose sight of him once again as the greenskin minions surrounded him, even when he was already beaten enough as is.

He wanted her to flee... He wanted her to fight- What she could do other than heal? Now that the one-eyed champion approached, Bao couldn't snap out of her shock, and her feelings bottled up in that moment of weakness as she realized... This was her fault.

Hers and only hers, and all she could do now was cower and blind herself with tears in hopes time could turn back again to fix her mistakes.

The war cry roared, and Bao blinked, letting more liquid pour down her cheeks as her body decided to move on it's own once she noticed just how close that piece of wood Max called a sword was. It became a mad race against the Champion and the goblins for it once they turned their attention back to her-- She was next on the chopping block.

Once the club raised and slammed down, Doggo vaulted forth and out of the way, grasping onto the edges of the sword and rolling unceremoniously between the champion's legs, hastely grasping the weapon by it's handle and pointing it out to the champion, who pulled the majestic weapon out of the ground and rised it once again.

Frost begun to carve it's way through the blunt tip of the weapon. Her ice vs his brute strength. He had reach, and she had her range.

The icebolt was sent like a rocket launcher straight for it's face, one after another like an inverted rain of icecycles that begun to pierce it's face time and time again, with the club landing right next to her head once his body lost coordination and begun to stumble backwards, and the minions stepped back as their leader begun to bleed all over his features and looked like a tower about to fall.

One more tilt, and it dropped forth, Doggo closing her eyes and dropping the sword to curl into a ball as the mountain of muscles dropped on top of her, flattening her against the ground as it followed a loud thud and, for a few extra seconds, not a single sound.

The Champion's muscles begun to lift, in an almost abnormal manner, his right bicep rised, just enough for a head and a pair of ears to pop through. Enough space for Doggo to claw her way through the dirt, gasping for air after being squished like a bug by a colossal pile of muscles.

Teary eyes and a shaky hand wandered aimlessly, blurry vision made it harder to pinpoint the fallen Max. It forced her to squint and push herself just a little harder, even if her body had reached it's limit on it's own.

Water begun to emerge out of nothingness, pouring from the soil once her magic heed the desperate request painted on her features right now: She needed to bring him back, no matter if she ran out of water, or her EN had gotten dangerously low.

Magic would obey her plea and search for water deeper than the surface level, and once found, ripped out from the dark, forcing itself around the monkey like a gentle rain, splashing each and every wound of his, until only scars would remain.

It took a bit for Max to feel the prickling cold raindrops on his skin...

Each of his wound seemed to close, and even his neurons, that were deactivated due to how traumatic the blows he had received were, sparkled some consciousness back into him.

A cough, followed by an abrupt sitting made his head pang strongly in a headache, making him stagger for a moment, especially when being surrounded by goblins that initially made him try to shield his face from them, but as soon as he noticed their expressions, and the fallen Champion, Max frowned.

Quickly, a flurry of memories were regained, and he instinctively tried to look for Doggo- If the Champion was fallen, it meant...

"Doggo!" He called with a roarse voice, coughing and startling the nearby goblins, which he forcibly ignored and pushed aside when he pulled strength out of pure adrenaline, shoving the greenskins aside and pulling the beastfolk girl out and then up after struggling, holding her before staring daggers at the incoming goblins...

"Goddamn it Doggo, how did you- I can't, shit- My sword-!"

His wooden sword, far away from him, but he reached for the gem on the club, roaring and mustering all the strength he had to finally dettach it and swing it with all force, crashing the gem on a couple goblins that were sent flying, startling the rest and making them hesitate.

"Stay the fuck out- GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!" He roared. "DOGGO, BRACE YOURSELF!" Max said, pulling Doggo to his back and wrapping his tail under her to secure her against his back, then thrusting the gem forward, letting out a chattering while he brute forced his way through, using every inch of EN and adrenaline he had remaining...

"... Fuck..."

He coughed, with his legs aching and his lungs burning.

"... Shit... goddamn it... I hate... goblins... stupid assholes--"

Finally reaching somewhere remotely safe, with the sounds of the goblins seeming to fade away completely, Max fell face first on the grass, finally giving away to the exhaustion, but also not wanting to crush Doggo once again by falling on her.

The gem rolled a couple feet away from them, covered with blood of the goblins that tried to chase them, but that Max had used intensely as some sort of crude weapon.

Her ears tucked against her head as Doggo finally let herself rest against the grass, her breathing grown unsteady from the weight pushing down against her chest. Desperate screams rang on her eardrums, and her eyes opened once again the moment her lungs no longer felt pressure equivalent to a sleep paralysis demon's weight.

Half-closed gaze set on the monkey boy, and then to the goblins. Her lips tried to mutter out a warning, but only raspy coughs came out. Conciousness flickered between the dream world and back to reality, something Bao struggled against as her mind was still fully aware of the dangers, despite how free she felt, carried away and secured by a tail that worked like a seat belt.

Her arms limped up onto his shoulders, locking her hands together to brace just as asked, and following that, the sound of the many goblins roaring and chasing after them. Despite their leader being down, they remained as tenacious as ever in their pursuit.

Finally, baby blues shut close once Max's legs bested that of the little greenskins...

Bad words woke her up from an involuntary power nap, eyes widening once his collapse tensed every muscle in her as the ground got closer and closer to her before it stopped entirely, thanks to the ape cushion. DOGGO rolled off from him, peeking over to the boy and the gem alike. It was a magical item, wasn't it? There was no mistake to it, nor to the pull it had on her.

"H-hey. Why you stopped?" She weakly protested, one hand at a time dragging herself over the floor to reach out for the gem with her fingertips, groans following her struggles to drag it back, until the oddly shaped gem rolled where she wanted it to. The blood alone made her feel nauseated, but running low on EN and with no strength left to cast a spell, she thrusted the gem gently against Max's back.

"M-max get up." Her voice broke, a hand nudged against his shoulder, rocking him from side to side. "I'll l-let you say cuss words. Please, we got the gem, w-we won, get up..." She tried to sit upright, only to land sideways and finally rolling onto her back as she focused on breathing. Eyes closed, Doggo tried to sense where the nearest water source could be, but nothing came close enough for them to reach, and neither did her body complied against her wishes this time around, having expended herself entirely.
