Hook, line, and sinker.

The Lepus couldn't help the grin that pulled at the corners of her mouth as she stood from her spot, stretching her arms high as she warmed up the muscles in preparation for this friendly matchup. "Glad to see you're one of the fun ones after all, you've been so quiet inside that wagon Sol that I was afraid a Myconid had snatched your tongue in the fray." Little bit of friendly banter was always good to make friends, right? It didn't look like the fellow beastfolk would hold it against Toko if she ran her mouth just a little bit.

Besides, it seemed a few people had been entranced by the messages Frey had sent out... after the little Faerin poured his heart and soul into this idea Toko just had to make sure her friend's endeavors were a success.

And no, before you ask, of course Toko easn't doing this to get rid of the Myconid's arm that had become an unexpected companion in the wagon... what kind of rabbit did you thought she was?

It's all lies, she wants that thing gone ASAP... it stinks!

Bring it on.

Stepping out into the fighting ring space, Sol was doing something quite similar to the Lepus in preparation, reaching her arms out in front of her with her fingers laced as she cracked her fingers and her arms, eyes closed as she rolled her shoulders back, with her neck quickly following. She raised one foot in the air and gave it a small roll, then the other. Then, with her eyes still closed, she tucked one foot behind her other into a more prepared position, raising one arm into the air with palm faced upwards and her cheek against her shoulder.

Raising her other hand in the air, she ran her finger down her arm from her wrist towards her body, digging a long cut into her skin that was deep enough that she bled. Her eyebrow twitched as the only sign that what she was doing caused her any semblance of pain, turning over her hand that she had just used to harm herself with her palm up. Blood quickly dribbled down from her wound, quickly forming and weaving into a long, blood red sword that was similar in style to the scythe she had brought earlier to the fight, but of course less intense for a more friendly duel.

As Toko's banter rang out into the air, Sol's eyes flashed open, a slit of purple for only a second before she bounded forward, holding her sword out at her side and her other arm in front of her. Quickly enough she was in front of Toko, hand returning back to the hilt of her blood sword as she held it double handed, "If you consider fun whopping your ass, then yes, I am." She definitely was not one to turn down a little bit of banter.

A smirk once again on her lips, she drowned out any peering eyes from the audience, focusing entirely on her target. And with that, she swung at her, not wanting to miss the chance to hit the bunny girl. Besides, as much as she wasn't too worried about eating the Myconid piece because this was a video game, she still wasn't entirely too thrilled by the thought of it.

Ah yes, preparations... she had almost forgotten about that.

"Time out~"

A faint apologetic smile was given to her opponent, the Lepus rubbing her hands together as she gathered energy and a mental image in her mind for what she was about to attempt. "Hyah!" In one quick move Toko had slammed her palms against the earth, infusing it with magic and her own will before the Lepus formed makeshift boundaries for their home ring. Nothing fancy or anything to write about back home, sure, but at least the earth was flattened and smooth now... and she'd even made a little edge along the border to design out of bound areas.

"There we go, that's better... c'mon, I'll even throw in the first hit free of charge just for you, Red~"

What she hadn't expected was for the woman to cut her arm length wise however, the action alone causing an involuntary shiver to run down Toko's spine before the fighter composed herself again. Hemomancy wasn't something Toko was used to seeing, let alone fighting against, but if anything that meant this fight would be even more educational than Toko had initially hoped.

"Shit, you're fast...!"

The rabbit barely managed a few words before Sol was in her personal space, perhaps taunting her with that nickname had been a bad idea after all, and Toko had barely gotten a decent enough crust of dirt to form on her forearms before she attempted to parry the incoming swing fo the blood blade. However the shoddy job done in her haste proved to be ill competition for the blade, which managed to crumble it away and knick part of Toko's skin just as Toko stepped back to create some space between them.

"Ready or not, here I come~"

There was a gleam of excitement in those red eyes now, the smirk that lined the Lepus' lips something one would expect of a more... predatory animal. The earth was once more reinforced in her forearms and knuckles before Toko dove towards Sol in an apparent attempt to punch the woman head on... but at the last minute she pivoted on her heel, using the momentum instead to aim a kick with the earth reinforced bridge of her rabbit like foot.

Bring it on.

The ring wasn't a bad idea for there's and the future fights. After Sol's blade made contact with Toko's arm, she pushed herself back as well, feet sliding on the freshly smoothed ground for a minute before coming to a stop. She kept an even eye on her, holding her sword out to the one side and moving to the right slightly, almost as if to start circle Toko and keep an eye on all sides. The ring had also given them a boundary on how far they were to move, and Sol was intending to use the full space whenever possible.

She had been ready when the Lepus threw a punch at her, gripping the hilt of her sword tighter once more as she prepared to spread out her blood particles for a more defensive move, but the one thing she didn't calculate was the quick switch up she made at the end for her attack.

As her foot made contact with her side, her eyes widened in surprise, stumbling to the side softly from the impact. She quickly jumped back after that hit, not aiming to let a sneaky move hit her again, "Nice one, I didn't even see that coming." Unfortunately her style of fighting didn't allow for Sol to spread more blood to her advantage, but it was better to think more about that now during training then later when it actually mattered.

It was then that Sol whipped her still bleeding arm out in front of her, the splatters of blood quickly turning into sharp shards that went flying right towards Toko. At the same time she gripped her sword once more, bounding around the Lepus's side and going for a back attack, doing a small spin to build up momentum on her sword with one hand as she swung it around her body, "Also, I thought I told you to call me Sol?" The nickname felt weird coming from anyone else's mouth but the blue faerin that had organized this event in the first place, eyebrows furrowing in a show of annoyance.

"A ri ga tooh~"

The rabbitfolk made a thankful bow, perhaps adding a little bit of extra flourish to it given the growing audience, even as a wink was sent in the direction of Sol for her compliment. No doubt Frey was enjoying the spectacle thus far, and from the corner of her eyes Toko could see other expedition members had also claimed some patches of dirt for their own matches.

"Whoa, wakatta yo!" Perhaps she'd struck a nerve, considering the redhead had just sent a splattering of blood shards in Toko's direction while trying also attempting to strike her from behind, but Toko had little time to ponder about that before the rabbitfolk quickly crouched down and placed her hands flat on the smooth earth beneath them. "Fine, fine, I won't use it anymore—I promise!"

A burst of magical energy was released as the Lepus sprung forth a small earthen dome to shield her from all sides, managing to deflect the blood sword and shards, before Toko allowed a part of it to willingly crumble as she attempted an uppercut punch on her opponent.

Unlike Toko, the crowd to Sol was a blur, ignoring their very existence. She was unsure what would happen if she did finally take in that people were watching their match and didn’t want her focus to be bothered. Her gaze never left the Lepus once, her lips pulling upwards into an amused smile at her bow and wink as her eyebrow raised, At least one of the two of us is playing it up for the audience.

Her sword rebounded off of the magic barriers, causing Sol to lose her balance for only a second as she ground her teeth together. She only had a second to recover before the wall broke in one area, fist coming right for her. Leaning her body back so as to not get hit and tilting her back to avoid the attack, she managed to nearly dodge the fist, feeling a slight graze past her chin, “You’re not going to get another fast one past me this time, Toko.”

Glancing forward and spotting a part of her wall that seemed to be more crumbled then the rest, Sol’s body suddenly snapped back upward, eyes narrowed and expression solid as she did so. As she did so, she swang her sword forward in the direction of the crumbled wall, twisting her body along with the direction of the weapon as she glared forward at her ‘enemy’.

"Maybe not this time..."

Toko had to admit she was surprised with Sol's fighting tactics, the fellow beastfolk could certainly hold herself in a fight—which was reassuring knowledge to have. After all they'd probably be fighting more things as this mission went on, best to have a good idea of what those around you could do... it made it easier to coordinate in the field of combat when you did.

"... but what about the next time?!"

As the Hemomancer swung her blood sword at Toko the Lepus leaned back, hands touching the ground behind her as she essentially performed an impromptu bridge, just enough that Sol's swing went wide off the mark. Not one to waste opportunities Toko allowed her arms to hold the rest of her body weight, allowing her feet to kick out forwards and hopefully smack Sol right in her torso for a solid hit.

Bring it on.

She will admit- She hadn't seen it coming. As her swing soared right over her body, the Lepus's feet quickly swung up, clocking her right in the torso area. Her eyes widen once more in surprise as she lets out a loud gasp, stumbling backwards a couple steps as she tries to get a breath in, finding herself winded. A hand to her chest and a glance in Toko's direction as she gasps quietly, she struggles for a moment or two to find her footing, I definitely don't have much longer in me...

Standing up straight with a new fire in her eyes, she flicks her wrist, her sword igniting in flames that licked upwards. Any of her blood that was sprayed around her also lit up, dancing around in the spot on the battlefield as Sol wipes some of the spit off her mouth that escaped out when she was stomached, eyes on the prize.

She's silent this time saying nothing as she goes in for the strike, running directly at Toko with her arm's out stretched at her side, fingers in her free hand twiddling some flames inbetween them as if a means to concentrate. And then, with a piercing purple look, she pulls her sword over her body, swinging hard at the girl.

Well, well, well... one certainly didn't see flaming blood every day. The Lepus whistled in appreciation as she got back on her feet, even giving a few soft claps of admiration for Sol.

"That's a pretty cool trick, oneechan~"

There was a faint intonation at the end of her words, though whether Sol picked up on the teasing nature of Toko's words was to be see. One look told the Lepus all she needed to know, her opponent was definitely reaching their limit... Toko just had to reach out and end this before Sol got a second wind to her sails. "No hard feelings when I win, okay Sol?" A foot moved to kick some dirt over a few flaming droplets of blood near to where the rabbitfolk stood, rolling her shoulders in preparation before Toko took a defensive stance for whatever new trick Sol planned to toss her way. Slowly the Lepus felt her life energy gathering into her palms, making her fingertips tingle from the sensation, before a 'come at me' motion was made towards the fellow beastfolk with her right hand.

"Do let me know what Myconids taste like, I'm curious to know~"

As the redhead dashed straight for the Lepus there was no sign that Toko planned to dodge this, on the contrary the respectful thing was to meet Sol head-on for a final showdown—her opponent had earned at least that much if not more. The blade impacted with the fighter's left palm as Toko used the gathered ki to parry the blow, causing sparks to fly from the friction of the two masteries clashing against one another, before her right hand balled into a tight fist and went for a low uppercut for a hopeful knockout.

A loss is a loss.

Their clash was glorious. Sol couldn't help but grin widely at the look in her opponents eyes and the words she threw at her, meeting her hand with her blade as the two pushed against each other in a fight for the win. Unfortunately, however, fate was not on the red-heads side. As soon as the two broke apart, she had a flying fist to the face, knocking her right in the chin with a loud crack as her hand made contact. That was it. Sol was out.

The force was enough to push her backwards, exhaustion hitting her in a wave as she allowed herself to fall, back hitting the ground with a loud thump. And for a moment, she laid there, the world spinning around her as the sword at her side crumbled into blood dust, the flames that once danced before as they pushed her on dying down into nothing but little burn spots on the ground. She continued to lay there, still, until she twitched. And then, she got up.

It was slow and she was obviously sore, one arm wrapped around her body and the other playing with her face for a moment. There was another small cracking noise as she seemed to put something back into place, gasping out in pain before turning away from the Lepus. Not once did she make eye contact with Toko as she silently walked out of the ring... And towards the piece of Myconid.

She walked until she was stopped beside it, hesitating for a moment at it's side, then reaching out her hand and digging her fingers into it, pulling off a large chunk. She looked at it pensively for a moment, before closing her eyes with a small sigh, "Well... Good thing this a video game."

Raising the piece to her lips, she dug down into the mushroom, making a disgusted expression as she tossed the large chunk back towards where it remained. She chewed for a couple minutes, took a hard swallow, and then paused as if rethinking her entire life up until that moment. And then, she finally looked back at Toko, a corner of her lips pulling upwards once more.

"Ever had beef jerky?"

A sigh of relief left the rabbitfolk as she saw her opponent go down, the Lepus finally able to relax her tensed muscles as the fight was over... before raising a fist along with a cry to celebrate her victory.

"That was a great match, we should do it again some time Sol."

Toko meant her words, and the Lepus had even began to move closer in order to assist her opponent back on her feet... but when the redhead wouldn't meet her in the eyes the Lepus took the hint. She'd give the fellow beastfolk the time she needed, after all loses could be a bitter drink to swallow... though hopefully that piece of Myconid arm would soon replace that aftertaste for Sol.

There was a shiver that crossed the Lepus' spine as she watched Sol swallow her punishment, the rabbitfolk glad it wasn't her having to eat the object. Still the redhead handled it like a champ, even managing a smirk at the end as she turned to look at Toko and spoke.

"Pffft ahahaha...!" She couldn't help but laugh heartily at Sol's comment, wiping a tear from her eye before giving the Hemomancer a wide grin. "Who knows, maybe we found a new food source and don't know it yet huh?"
