Her eyes passed over the temple that still stood in the distance, a feeling of excitement within her and a sudden realisation that the entire world was standing before her, waiting to be explored. Waiting to be found, discovered and understood. She glanced towards Ruby as she considered their next step, wondering where they should even begin.

So...we should beat the expedition to explore these...power stones, right? That means we need to get going. You lead, I'll follow.

She waited for the cat-girl to take the first step, content to follow beside and be lead towards their initial destination. She had no doubts that they'd be running into some sort of danger along the way - it might be nothing more than a simple starter creature, but Kyra had learnt enough about this world to know that she should be prepared for anything. Her left hand flicked outward, opening up the menu as Kyra decided to double check her abilities and skills. She came to a sudden stop, however, at the screen that hovered in front of her.

Notice

Name change required - similar name found. Complete name change now?

Kyra tilted her head to the side, staring at the notice and wondering how such a thing was possible. She'd been in the game for a few days now, and this was the first she'd heard of it - much less the first time she'd received a notice in her UI about anything.

Uh...it's telling me I need to change my name? Is that...normal?

She glanced towards Ruby, figuring the catgirl would be more familiar with the situation than Kyra herself would be, considering the expertise that the other girl had showed so far.

I mean...is it possible for someone to take my name? Or for someone to be created...err...born? With my name? Can't people have identical names? That seems...odd, right? And if there was already someone with this name, why did it let me enter the world after creati-

She stopped as she remembered the odd start to the game she'd had. Her masteries, skills and everything had already been preset, as if someone had chosen them for her. She'd thought nothing of it at the time, until others had confirmed that it was out of the norm. Is this just another issue? Wait - am I using someone else's account? She knew so little about this game, still, and it was becoming more and more obvious as time went on.

Ruby's eyes narrowed at Kyra's words. She had no idea about these type of particularities in the game, as she was more used to think of it as almost another world whenever she was playing it. She rubbed her chin, tilting her head as she considered her new friend's questions. "I... I've never stopped to think about it. But honestly, this has never happened to me before, and I've never heard about it before."

She shrugged, looking at Kyra. "Maybe it is a bug?"

A bug. Really, that was the type of thing she had never seen in this game. Yeah, it was weird and funky at times, but a bug was something alien to her in this game. Despite the fact that there were situations when the UI itself bugged, but aside from the UI, the palpable aspects of that world weren't bugged.

Considering all that, the name 'bugging' wouldn't be that strange.

Crossing her arms, she looked at her friend once again, tilting her head.

"If you need another name, than what it will be?"

Kyra sighed heavily in response to Ruby's question. She'd been hoping that the girl would have some sort of answer to the question; some solution that would make this go away. Almost reluctantly, and with no expectation of success, Kyra pawed the cancel button, watching as the alert simply reappeared a few microseconds later. That's too bad, ignoring it would've been easier.

Huh...a new name...I hadn't really...I mean, I thought that I'd picked out a good one, but I guess not.

Her voice carried a sigh of exasperation more than anger at the situation. She was resigned to the reality of it, but couldn't help thinking that it was entirely unfair and unwelcomed. She furrowed her brow in response, thinking about possible options that she could use in order to determine a new name.

I guess it should be something fitting...maybe I should go with something foxy? Oh, Foxxy? Would that...no...that's stupid, right? I know I'm a winter fox, but-

She stopped suddenly as her mind raced, a sudden thought occurring to her as she considered her own race and appearance. The words were longer than Kyra had wanted in a name, and she found herself quickly shortening it in order to make it easier to pronounce. Yeah...maybe?

How about...See-on-day? Siondhe. S-i-o-n-d-h-e...it's short for Sionnach Sidhe...fairy fox, basically. I mean it's more spirit fox, but...do you think it works?

She gave a look towards Ruby, waiting to see what the other player would think of it. She felt herself biting her lower lip, realising suddenly that she was waiting for approval as much as she was insight into her own thoughts. It brought upon the realisation of how much she was desperate, in that moment, for the other player to agree with her choice.

"You've picked a good one." Ruby reassured, with her ears lowering slightly to a side, and twitching it as Kyra mentioned a 'foxy' name. Ruby's lips pursed, letting out a muffled giggle but she cleared her throat, waiting patiently for her friend to make a decision.

Swaying back and forth, as soon as the first idea came, she tilted her head.

"A fairy fox..." Ruby's tails swayed, circling Kyra for a moment, glancing over her as she hummed about the name. She gave a questioning gaze to her friend, with her lips quirking up playfully. "I think it sounds pretty, matches the owner." She concluded, resting her hands behind her back and resting her gaze on @Siondhe's eyes.

"Are you Siondhe now, then? If that is the case..." Ruby bowed again, with her tails straightening to help with the balance. "It is pleasure to meet you again, Siondhe. My name is Crimson Ruby." The cat girl teased a bit, easing the hesitating air that seemed to raise from that peculiar situation. "That means that we are once again going for a first adventure, no?" Ruby's eyebrow rose as she leaned closely to Siondhe, curious about her friend's opinion.

She couldn't stop the laughter that followed the re-introduction by Ruby, a sweeping laugh that seemed to be cut short as Kyra - Siondhe - attempted to control herself. Still shaking with sporadic giggles, she held out a hand in offer as she responded.

It's a pleas...ure to meet you...Ru-Ruby. I'm...I'm Siondhe...I look forward to adventuring together...with you!

Unable to contain it any longer, she let the laughter take control of her, bending over and holding onto her sides as the joy and pain ripped over her. She wasn't sure how long it took to get over the fit - seconds, minutes, hours, it all blurred together for Siondhe - but after some time she managed to stand back up and wipe away the tears that had begun to roll down her face.

Sorry...sorry...that was just...perfect. Thanks, Ruby. I'm glad I ran into you...

Heaving a large sigh in an attempt to quell any further laughing outbreaks, she turned her attention away from her companion for the time being, focusing on the forest and trying to think about what came next - if for no other reason than to maintain a measure of control over herself.

Our first adven...adventure. Oh, boy...ohkay, so, where do we begin? Where should we go...?

She pulled up her menu again, confirming that the name change had been completed even as she felt a few giggles escape her lips again. Looking over her skills distracted her - just barely - enough to get her composure back, and once she had closed the menu again she turned back to Ruby, a small glint in her eye and a soft smile on her face - as well as a single tear rolling down the right side of her face, still left over from all the laughter.

Well...you're the expert here, so you lead on, I'll follow...and maybe, just maybe, we'll find something amazing together?

The way @Siondhe reacted to their small playful exchange tickled Ruby a bit, making a small smile cross her lips before she blurted out laughing, being infected by the contagious laugh of the fox girl. It took a bit, but as soon as their emotions were back to normal, Ruby showed a fond smile to Siondhe, wrapping an arm around her shoulder and pulling her close and tight, with a grin crossing her lips.

"Where should we go? To the site I've talked you about. It isn't too far, so we should get in there in a few minutes."

As for amazing it would be? Honestly it depended entirely on luck!

"There is only one way to find out!"

Taking the opportunity she already had her body glued on her companion, she hooked their arms together and led her through the forest, venturing through its beautiful and mysterious paths, hoping to reach the site soon enough...

As they wandered, soon they spotted ancient ruins. It wasn't anything large, but rather it was columns, archs and other pieces of structures scattered in an area, already overtaken by the vegetation. There were signs of archeological activities, but there was also a clear signing that one shouldn't approach a particular entrance, a path that seemed to actually lead to the depths of the actual meaningful structures that area had.

Crossing that place meant they were going to break rules, but more important, it meant they were going to venture through the unknown.

"If we go past here, we will need to be a little more careful, alright?" She said, using one of her tails to entangle it around the hilt of her sword, drawing it and tossing it upward so she could fetch it midair with her free hand.

The forest passed by in a blur of motion, Siondhe trying to take in what she could all while trying to make sense of a world that was something similar, and yet entirely different from where she had come from. She saw trees, foliage and flowers, and yet none were recognisable to her mind as she went by - a mixture of colours that both made sense, and didn't, as she tried to grasp the area.

It's beautiful...foreign, and yet beautiful still...

She found herself murmuring as she followed behind Ruby, pulled along in a manner that allowed her the capacity to simply drift. Although she kept an eye out for danger, she doubted she'd be able to spot it even if it approached them - so overwhelmed were her senses. Her mind caught up to in the moment as they came to a slow, and eventually a stop before what appeared to be some sort of ruin; ancient in appearance, and yet somehow no more foreign than the rest of the world to Siondhe's eyes.

A little bit more careful...I guess that means there'll be lots of danger up ahead? Is there anything I should know before we go charging into the unknown? Or any tips you think it would be worth passing on?

Her eyes followed the sword as it sailed through the air, caught by a deft hand that had clearly practiced the maneuverer a time or two; and yet it was still wonderful to see. She smiled at Ruby, enjoying the company and realising just how lucky she was to have come across her new companion.

Danger or not...I'm ready to go as soon as you are. So long as we're together, I feel like we'll come out alright, no matter what we may face within.

Her words weren't filled with any sort of air of casualness, nor did she show any sign of being flippant or careless to the possible dangers ahead; instead she seemed confident - confident in their capabilities together, and their ability to pull through whatever they may face.

@Siondhe's admiration was the same as Ruby's. No matter how many times the Whistle adventured and explored, even in the most pacific places, there was beauty to be found.

"The biggest tip I can give is to be aware of signs of people... Or things that have been around..." Ruby said, narrowing her gaze as she gestured for a small rag that was between a couple rocks. She watched it attentively, taking a moment before she finally decided to grab it. "Knowing if something is around is the difference between life and death... On top of keeping traps on check." She explained.

"We aren't alone." Ruby handed the clue for Siondhe to see herself. "I have a few guesses of what it could be." She hoped it wasn't the case, but it wasn't hard to defeat if those stinky green bastards were the ones that were going to be challenged.

Her companion's words brought a smile to Ruby's lips, and she chuckled. "Aren't you a sweet talker? Stop making my heart skip." She teased with a soft tail hit on Siondhe's leg, then turning to venture deeper into the region...

...

It didn't take long for the suspicion to be confirmed.

A slope narrowed down in the path they were taking, eventually reaching a large space that was akin to a circular arena, created by the natural slopes of the area. An eerie air dominated the area, with floating stones giving it a mystic look. Dozen of goblins, small, green-skined creatures with long nose and even longer ears bowed down to a large stone that looked like a partially broken monolith, that had its broken parts hovering around its center, that brimmed with an intense light blue tone.

Right in front of the monolith, one of the goblins caught their attention. It had a goat's skull as a headress, wearing rags. Unlike the other goblins that had crude shortswords and clubs with them, this one goblin had a very well adorned dagger, that despite being stained by blood, was of clearly fine quality.
