The power of the magical fungi continued to linger in @Yua's blade, and every slice, as much as it seemed to have no end, was a tiny victory the group held tightly on...

"H-Huh-?!" Kyanna blinked, noticing the vines' touch becoming... More ethereal, noticing her limbs phasing through them, and the space they were in slowly distorting in a strange way, blurring and twisting, having a hard moment to keep up.

With that, the feeling of pain tingled and ran through the girls bodies, which was painful at first... But it sparkled a thought-

'It is more real now.'

"I-I think it is working, Yua! I think we are almost there-!" Her lips pursed. She could only hope, right?

Clenching her hands tight around her staff, she called forth the power of nature once again, and the fungi that surrounded them glowed brighter, soothing their wounds as they continued to fight on.

The vines seemed to blur, becoming less tangible. Yua could almost swear she could see through them. No, it wasn't another hallucination Yua realized, or maybe the hallucination was dissipating. Either way, the samurai could finally see progress, and whatever it was that held them in its thorny grasp was finally weakening.

'Almost there!' Yua's mind echoed Kyanna's words. Just one last push. The girl raised her sword with a vicious growl. 'Three-phased blade' the thought almost echoed in the world around them as glints of silver appeared in the air all around them, despite there only being a single sword swing. This was it!

With @Yua's last attack, the world around them twisted and distorted.

The numb feeling ran through the girls and the boy, and even the lights that they had brought forward to be able to see were slowly fading away.

"T-Take my hand!" Kyanna tried to reach for the girl, but she seemed so out of reach, similarly to how Simon was.

A crack suddeny appeared before them, which seemed to distort the world even further, at the same time the vines withered away more and more, letting them go, at the same time they felt themselves numb and detached from reality.

It was as if they were fading away. Touch gone, hearing gone, and sight gone as well.

The last sight Kyanna had was of her hands trying to reach for the other girl, screaming desperately yet no sound came out. It was a memory that burned in her mind for the following seconds that felt longer than it should, with the despair building up as she realized she was stuck in an oblivion, until suddenly!

"YUA!" The voice finally escaped, and Kyanna gasped desperately as she breathed heavily, with her chest heaving as she looked around.

Before them, the temple remained there, except this time it looked actually abandoned. With the roots and plants actually ruining its structure, with cracks and the worn out surface making it clear it was actually left to the nature to dominate it.

Worried, she looked around, eventually seeing the other girl on the grass as well, and the boy nearby too.

"Nngh..."

The boy groaned, holding the cat tightly on his arms, that was unconscious.

Yua could hear Kyanna call out for her the first time. And then all the sound in all the world was silenced, and Yua couldn't even hear her own breathing, let alone Kyanna's open mouthed scream from the otherside of the chasm that had suddenly been torn between them.

Next was the sensation of falling. Of descending through a void so deep and dark, Yua froze to death long before she hit the infernal bottom.

After that was darkness. Pure pitch black. This must've been death, for Yua could think of nothing so devoid of anything. So empty of everything.

And then there was cold hard stone beneath her, her cheek pressed against it and small winding vines and roots and budding vine-leaves. And there was Kyanna too, screaming her name like she had when the rift came between them. And there was the sound of Simon's groaning as well. And Yua groaned with him as she pushed herself up to her hands and knees.

"Kyanna? Simon? What...what happened? Did we win?" the asked as she found her lungs full of air again.

When @Yua's voice reached her ears, and Simon seemed to slowly wake up from the sudden nightmare they just had, Kyanna felt a relief washing her mind and heart, and she was quick to approach the two of them, nearly stumbling as she managed to get on her feet.

Approaching and kneeling next to the two of them, she finally considered the question.

"I... I think..?" She looked toward the temple. "If anything, we are out of that place... And... It does look a bit different for some reason?" Kyanna frowned, unsure of what had happened.

Simon, on another hand, between groans and a grunt, got to sit, with the cat that was the bait for the trio to get into all that mess resting gentlyon his lap.

"... I thought we were never going to leave..."

His hand caressed the cat's head, and hugging it, Simon tried to stand up, with a bit of difficulty.

"But we did..! And maybe we should leave for real now." The witch sighed, getting up again, and offering a hand to Yua. "We don't want whatever that had just happened to happen again. We already have the cat with us, we don't need to deal with that girl again!" She frowned, shuddering at the idea.

(We can probably end soon)

"I... I think..? If anything, we are out of that place... And... It does look a bit different for some reason?" Yua had managed to get back to her feet by the time Kyanna had scrambled over, and Yua had been helping Simon sit upright when she'd heard Kyanna's words. The blonde-haired girl looked around at their surroundings taking them in. The overgrowth was wild, more so than before, splitting stone and earth. Yua craned her head upwards towards the ceiling, following the vines as they climbed up the walls. "Y-you're right," Yua agreed, half in awe. Their surroundings, while familiar, were indeed changed.

"I agree, we should get out away from this place, just in case," Yua added to Kyanna's sentiment, looking over at where she remembered the entrance had been. "Let's take Suki home, Simon." Who knew what time was it now anyways?

"I am not spending any more second here, that's for sure."

Kyanna nodded, also helping Simon to stand. Whatever that temple was, they didn't need to spend any more second waiting for something bad to happen.

"I will make sure to put some plants and animals to see our surroundings... But... Maybe it won't be a good idea, considering they were under that girl's control..." She looked back at the temple one last time, wondering... What was up with that girl anyway?

Shaking her head, she hurried up, and the boy similarly rushed, especially when Yua gave the headstart for them to move away.

"... O... Okay, let's go..."

Nodding, the boy was thankful for Kyanna and @Yua's help, getting on his feet while holding the cat protectively in his arms, darting off along with the two girls, hoping to get home soon and tell his family that he had found Suki safe and sound...
